“WHERE THE HEART IS” is a TOTALLY underrated romantic drama Ashley Judd & Natalie Portman film from 2000! Can I get an amen!

Carol Rocha

People should be aware that murder is a state crime, so if you're falsely convicted of murdering someone in Washington and then get out and actually kill them in Louisiana, those are totally different charges. You probably could get your conviction overturned in Washington and your record cleared, but then you'd still have to face the charges in Louisiana.

I haven’t seen this in absolute ages, like 20 years or something, so it was lovely to see it (highlights) again with someone (on a video)

Ria Grix

Norma Jean and Marilyn (1996) is about the only one I would want, and that is just because it gets Mira Sorvino too.

Mike Lemon

You should definitely consider watching some more Ashley Judd movies. Kiss the girls is another good one. Though a little darker. Then this.

Jim K

I’m not going to watch this YouTube video because I’ve been waiting for the movie to be added to Paramount+ on June 1. Then I’ll do the full watch along with Cassie.

Jeff

Love hearing Cassie talk in the intro about how her Mom is her best friend and the first one she goes to if she has a problem and she's been there for her 1000% etc etc. It's a nice reminder of what all our Moms do for us throughout our lives. It's also good to know, given the rough patches Cassie goes through, that she also has Carly and Ben and her Dad and her best friend (Kaley?) to lean on when things get rough. Moms are great at being that eternal comfort blanket, but they also need to tag out now and then. It's safe to say that Cassie is adequately loved.

He's still alive.

Older Matty at the end is the same kid from Gladiator and Unbreakable.

I don’t know if it’s just me, I did like Tommy Lee in this and you gotta respect the guy but most of the time watching him in a film feels like someone rubbing sandpaper over my skin.

Brett John Chase

Tommy Lee was such a great actor. Good acting skills are something that can be learned, but screen presence is either in you or it's not. He worked hard on the first and had the second in abundance. Would love to see Cassie react to Under Siege (1992). It's Seagal's best film, but a lot of that is down to Tommy Lee.

Clarence Newman

Yes, The Game. Good episode.

🚩

I think you skipped it, but Ashley Judd once played a love interest to Wesley Crusher on Star Trek TNG.

Shad Kanyak

It's an entertaining film, with Judd and Jones at the top of their game. But every time I watch it I feel a great disturbance in the force as if a thousand criminal lawyers suddenly cried out in terror.

Michael Siegel

Double jeopardy is a clause in the Constitution, although the movie misstated its function. She could absolutely have been prosecuted if she murdered her husband after her release. It’s designed to prevent the state from repeatedly prosecuting the same person for the same crime, particularly after they’re acquitted. But killing someone you’ve been falsely convicted of having already murdered would constitute a NEW crime. Double jeopardy wouldn’t apply - new facts, new crime.

Just Plain Bob

Off-topic: I liked Naomi & Wynonna. They sold more than 20 million albums in their 6 year career.

🚩

I wasn't sure I'd seen this, so jumped in here for a quick look. I hadn't. Damn, this was a great story. Judd was perfect and I think Tommy's performance (subtle) is his best. Is double jeopardy a real thing in the states these day? It seems like a loophole waiting for a crime, a point the movie makes well. Is it a crime? Hmmm.

Brett John Chase

I was captivated by Ashley Judd, but too bad the movie butchers the Double Jeopardy Clause.

Clay F

This is one of my mom's favorites, too! It's a great movie for sure.

Joe George

Tommy Lee in “U S Marshals” with Wesley Snipes. Great action film!

Carol Rocha

Always up to watch Double Jeopardy! Especially with you! Always fun! Thanks again, Cassie’s mom! ❤️
