This is the only example I can think of where a modern reboot of a 20th century series improves on the original and uses modern technology to deepen the storytelling. The recent Star Wars and Star Trek movies have diminished their universes but Rise of the POTA is so smart and well done it elevates the entire franchise (well except maybe that Tim Burton thing…)

Plus which, if she watches Which Way before she watches Deliverance, the protagonist in Deliverance won't be so scary.

2025-04-12 20:33:37 +0000 UTCI'm kinda surprised the Tim Burton POTA was skipped. It's not a good movie though, so I'm guessing that's why. This newer Apes trilogy was fantastic, especially the second movie. The newest movie was OK, although it was a bit "YA-ish".
