Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) - Full Reaction

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries."

This was insanity, randomness, nonsensical and one I know would only get more hilarious with every rewatch. I was laughing out loud for half of it and hanging my mouth open in “what am I watching?” for the other half, so a pretty good time I'd say!

I saw this when I was in high school back in the 70's when it came out and all the kids or young adults I knew who watched it saw it has hilarious. I think even young people today with the sophistication of this age would also think it so funny. Older adults maybe not so much. In general, 70's humor was different than modern day. But glad you watched it :)

I am so happy you finally watched this. This is really a type of comedy that you either get it or you don’t. I always feel a little sad for the people that don’t. Yes, it is stupid, but it is pretty special. My history teacher showed us the part about the witch in high school when talking about the witch trials to make a point and I’ve been hooked ever since. I even got my little brother corrupted by Monty Python to the point that he could quote this movie verbatim by the time he was 10! I suggest watching some of their sketches. If you are interested, the following are good: dead parrot sketch, ministry of silly walks, the Spanish Inquisition, cheese shop, spam, lumberjack song, argument clinic, the undertaker, the Bruce’s song, and nudge nudge. Honestly, all their stuff is hilarious with a very British sense of humor. They are also really funny live.

Maybe the real grail was the friends we made along the way.
