I made it through the wilderness....

Hey friends!

Thanks for understanding about me getting SICK last week! I'm on the up and up now and I am crossing all my fingers and all my toes that my family is spared from this. I would not wish it on my worst enemy-only Castor Troy. Besides my time on the bathroom floor, things are good! It is my oldest birthday today and he is the sweetest and it has been so fun to celebrate him. He wanted ling ling potstickers (like from costco) chocolate covered strawberries and a 49ers hoodie!

This week is the POPPIES! Can't wait! I just have 368 little things to do before then and we are in business ;) SHOW BUSINESS! Seriously though, I hope to see you there! Because I know better this year, I only have one reaction coming this week with Frequency (and catching up with Planet of the Apes 2)

I will also be posting a courtroom poll this week! We haven't had one in forever and talking with my cousin this week about John Grisham and now I want a great courtroom film!

Speaking of my cousin, she was on the p2g podcast this week-"Cinema Code Blue" and it was so fun! Check out the new episode on patreon now or YT/podcast players tomorrow!

Hope you are all having a great week! Stay healthy and happy and I'll see you at the Poppies!

hahaha I didn't expect "KatWatchesHorromovies" to make a cameo... She should collaborate with Cassie in watching horror content THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. Screw the Halloween October wait and let Kat torture cassie watching horror stuff throughout her channel all the time!

Rene G.

Any ETA on Frequency?

Brent Petty

I remember having Norovirus a few years ago, boy, you really do get to know the details around the toilet bowl whilst you’re camped out on the floor in front of it. Between projectile vomiting I noticed that I really needed to touch up the paint around the cistern and really give those pipes a good clean.

Ria Grix

That's like my No. 1 suggestion for courtoom drama poll. The movie has courtoom scenes. "In the Name of the Father" (1993). Nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Daniel Day-Lewis), Best Actress (Emma Thompson), Best Director.

Clay F

It's not strictly a courtroom movie (more of a prison movie tbh), and likely will never win a poll, but how about IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER. True story I think Cassie would really like

SeanATX

Hopefully there will be a G.H poll and Class Action is on it

Milton William Burray

In memory of Gene Hackman (one of the greatest actors of all time) who was discovered deceased earlier today, I would like to recommend the legal drama "Class Action", co-starring Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (the girl from "The Abyss"). An excellent, modest little film about an estranged father and daughter on opposing legal teams in the same civil case. I think Cassie will find the film very rewarding. R.I.P. Gene Hackman (1930-2025) 😩

cfb0453

Yeah he said himself those were his vision board years. He literally wrote himself a check for thirty million dollars before any of the films came out and dedicated himself to making hits. And now he's in his contemplative 'what did any of it mean' years.

Chris Thom

"There are no other cases. This is the case."

Clarence Newman

Yes Man is a fun film too, I also like Me Myself and Irene lol. But when talking about Carey I always find it crazy he did Dumb and Dumber, The Mask and Ace Ventura all in 1994.

Dean Holt

+1 for Bonnie and Clyde (1967) (AFI Top 100) Mississippi Burning (1988)

Clay F

Yes Man has a lot of rewatch/entertainment value IMO. Nice message to it too.

Chris Thom

Objection! "And Justice For All"

bgb1975 (Brian)

I really enjoyed “Love & Mercy.” That’s a good one! I hope the next Britney movie will be 1000x time better. I recently bought her memoir but haven’t read it yet. My mom definitely has some stories and she’s seen a lot of bad and good people incarcerated. Suge looks intimidating but my mom despite her being petite was kind but firm when she interacted with him and the other inmates. She’s saved lives and seen death but she was always excited about her work even tho she really disliked nursing. She always dreamed of becoming a lawyer and decided to study part-time at UC Berkeley when she first immigrated to the States but before she could enter campus a naked hippie approached her and she got scared lol and never returned. Definitely wasn’t her vibe. She tried again at USC but she had a heart attack - too much stress working three jobs and taking care of family and school.

Rose

Nobody has mentioned The Verdict for a few hours, therefore…..The Verdict.

Clarence Newman

Rooting for “The French Connection” - his first Oscar win. So sad that to hear the news of Gene Hackman and his wife and their dog.

Rose

Lots of Gene Hackman movies to choose from. "Bonnie and Clyde" to "The Royal Tenenbaums". His last film "Welcome to Mooseport" isn't very good so I'm going to go with Tenenbaums because it is a great move and fitting goodbye to Gene Hackman.

TheSingulatarian

my ranking as well.

Matt Rose

Hi Cassie: May I respectfully suggest a Gene Hackman poll? With his passing, it's unfortunately incredibly relevant. So many great, great films of his for you to see.

Matt Rose

I knew it was something absurd. :)

Brent Petty

Liar Liar has held up well. My No. 3 favorite Jim Carey movie. 1. Eternal Sunshine 2. The Truman Show 3. Liar Liar

Clay F

Me and Laptop will be attending Joaquin Phoenix-style. I may even take a shower first.

Chris Thom

Brian Wilson's story is really wild...with his psychiatrist who basically conservator-shipped and controlled him kind of like what happened with Britney. That's another fascinating true to life movie: Love & Mercy. Would be a good one for the channel. Suge Knight always scared the crap out of me. Even before everyone knew what he was up to. Sounds like your mom could write a book, if she hasn't already. I'd definitely read it.

Chris Thom

I thought she had seen them but wasn’t one hundred percent sure 👍🏻. Rewatched Liar Liar recently and it’s still holds up very well.

Dean Holt

I need to checkout the series. My mom actually enjoyed working at the jail - more so than her short-lived stint at Cedars. Henry Fonda was one of her nicest patients and she got to meet Jane. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys was another fav but definitely not Elizabeth Taylor who treated the nurses like her personal maids. My mom had the best experience working at the jail tho - she literally saved a deputy’s neck from being snapped in half by an inmate. She got to know John Orr a bit and this mysterious ninja assassin and “Death Row” (aka Suge Knight). In fact, the medical staff at the jail where my mom worked was very good. Some of the best doctors work there and a lot of the recidivists are happy to come back bc they know their medical needs are fulfilled along with free food and a bed.

Rose

@Stick - Why would you spoil it like that?

Mike Lemon

Steven Spielberg's Amistad

JPDotCom23

That is part of it, but there is another big part of the story layered on top of it. I think Stir of Echos is more like the movie Flatliners than it is Frequency (but maybe that's just because Kevin Bacon is in both Stir of Echos and Flatliners and both movies are related to ghosts).

D. T. Nelson

I need to see the ending to that again. I remember it being a true story but can't recall how it all played out. Pretty sure it's a famous case in law schools.

Chris Thom

Clay had "Amistad" (1997) on his list. I felt it deserved to be on a comment by itself. Easily one of my most memorable movie experiences ever, let alone among court room dramas. It is a genuine masterpiece.

David Collins

I know I saw it at the theater but I think I always get it mixed up with Stir of Echos. Is there an unsolved crime in it? Or a murder being prevented or something?

Chris Thom

Damn that would be scary. Never really considered health care in jail but yeah I guess they need medical like any one else. I think OJ was right next to one of the brothers' cells. At least that's what the show portrayed. I was young when the case happened and it's pretty fuzzy but I do remember OJ kind of wiping them off the news for a while. The series is really interesting. Cast did amazing.

Chris Thom

Wonka tells me wondrous story of how a young dreamer named Willy Wonka becomes the worlds greatest imventor magiicion and chocolate maker dicover how Willy became Wonka Amazing and fantastic Wonka film it it tasty movie

David

My mom was an RN with the L.A. Sheriff’s Dept during the Menendez Brothers’ trial. They were one of her patients. They were in separate cells in front of their nursing station - along with other K-10 inmates - and across from The Menendez Brothers’ cells was the notorious John Orr. The FBI considered Orr to be the most prolific serial arsonist of the 20th century. OJ Simpson was another one of her patients and he once asked to hold her hand outside his cell door. She just left his pills by the opening and left with the deputies very creeped out.

Rose

Think it was a green jelly bean that almost ended her.

Chris Thom

The Sicario movies are kinda hard-hitting, without being too heavy, somehow. Emily Blunt is great in the first one.

Steve

Chicago 7 was pretty great. I still need to see In the Name of the Father.

Chris Thom

This isn't a movie but a mini-series. Monsters: The Menendez Brothers was the most recently released, and most compelling courtroom thing I've seen in a while.

Chris Thom

To Kill A Mockingbird is noted as "seen" at popcornrequests. com If you ever want to check (takes less than a minute) if she has seen a movie, go to popcornrequests. com

Clay F

The verdict is in. If The Verdict doesn't win, I demand a mistrial and some habeas corpus to go.

Stephen Malloy

Kramer is a classic. The Client might be the most entertaining for her but I don't know.

Chris Thom

A plus for Devil's Advocate (1997) is has Charlize Theron and Connie Nielsen. My top recommendation for her for an Al Pacino movie is "Donnie Brasco" (1997) w/Johnny Depp. Based on true story. In her collection and has 47 requests at popcornrequests.

Clay F

I watched that one in school. Great cast.

Chris Thom

Was thinking it would fun to check off every highest grossing film from every year. After 3 Men And A Baby, Cassie's already completed the whole 1980s. Kramer vs Kramer would be a great start to the 70s, and we all know what 1973 would entail...

Raieldon

Agree. I think it could play outside of October too.

Chris Thom

I convinced Movies With Mary to watch that one and she super enjoyed it. It fits Cassie 100%

Raieldon

I'm not.

Stick Figure Studios

I love THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE. Pacino is my favorite cinematic Satan.

Stick Figure Studios

Lately I've been thinking about how underrated The Devil's Advocate (1997) is, and how it fits a lot of your particular tastes. I daresay that I think it would land the yuppie parable more resonantly than American Psycho as well.

Raieldon

Cassie has mentioned seeing it in school as well.

Mike Lemon

I presume "To Kill A Mockingbird" has already been seen by Cassie........since it was only mentioned once in over 100 comments. I know we watched it in school in my day but not sure if they still do that.

Joel Wayne

Schools probably wouldn't allow a shirt like that these days.....but it'd be a fun shirt

Joel Wayne

You sure that didn't mean it was just overwriting your previous entry??

Joel Wayne

Clearly I don't pay attention to something.

Joel Wayne

I highly recommend "A Civil Action" (1998) for the courtroom poll. It's a hidden gem that's based on real events. And the cast is stacked: - John Travolta - Robert Duvall - William H. Macy - James Gandolfini - Tony Shalhoub - Sydney Pollack and the list goes on.

BlueChip300

Since nobody wanted those ones enough, I propose they not be included in the next pole. We'll probably just have to go with Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995). It has never lost a pole so it's the obvious one to watch.

Mike Lemon

That's good FYI

Clay F

The Rainmaker is also very much a courtroom drama, unlike some other ones I see people mention, during which very little of the movie takes place in a courtroom. IMO The Rainmaker is easily the best Grisham adaptation, hands down.

Stranger2Reality

Yeah, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER is the best movie on my list.

Clay F

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER is so good. Highly, highly recommended.

Matt Rose

Your cousin (I assume first cousin) was great on the podcast. That's wild you two have been best friends since you were kids. Suggested poll candidates for courtoom drama in random order: 1. "The Trial of the Chicago 7” (2020) 2. "In the Name of the Father” (1993). Daniel Day-Lewis. IMDb 8.1, RT 94% 3. "The Accused” (1988). Jodie Foster 4. "The Lincoln Lawyer” (2011). Matthew McConaughey. Marisa Tomei. 5. "Marshall" (2017). Chadwick Boseman. Kate Hudson. Based on true story. 6. “Amistad” (1997) [Spielberg]. Djimon Hounsou [the guy in Blood Diamond and Gladiator (2000)]. Matthew McConaughey. Morgan Freeman. Anthony Hopkins. 7. "Judgment at Nuremberg” (1961). IMDb 8.3, RT=93%. Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, and more. You have in your collection. May be a little dry for the channel but I like it. Can stream on multiple platforms, and currently steaming for FREE on YouTube.

Clay F

FYI, Movies that remain unwatched that were on the last Courtroom polls were: The Verdict Presumed Innocent Judgement at Nuremberg The Lincoln Lawyer The Client The Rainmaker Kramer v Kramer The Hurricane The Judge Woman in Gold Sleepers

Cole Jennett

+ 1 for "In The Name of the Father" +1 for "Marshall". Based on true story about the great jurist Thurgood Marshall's early career as a lawyer. I also like The Lincoln Lawyer and The Hurricane. She has already reacted to Just Mercy. Excellent reaction. She has seen Liar Liar (one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies).

Clay F

I also voted a whole bunch of times. It's the only way :P

V M

+1 for Finding Forrester.

Clay F

Norovirus 1-2 Cassie (FT)

Milton William Burray

It's so nice to learn you're feeling better Cassie!

Terry Yelmene

My Mom's An Internet Sensation but yeah, it probably wouldnt go over well with the other kids :P

V M

Been wanting you to check out Frequency since your channel started! :) Now just waiting for That Old Feeling, Finding Forrester and The Exorcist lol

Dan Holmes

Yeah it's a good one, and there are really good ones made in "The nordics" as well 😃😃🇫🇮🇸🇯🇸🇪🇩🇰🇦🇽😃😃

Björn Karlsson

RIP Brad. Gone way too soon.

Chris Thom

I believe you can because when you finish with the form it gives you the choice to resubmit another entry so I took advantage of that multiple times!

Sam Wilson

Like I said, not to spoil the movie. The evidence in McMartin was different. The trial (edit- case) took about 2300 days.

Mike Lemon

As a Rams fan... same.

Philip Alan

Somehow I made it through...

Philip Alan

For his birthday, I think Cassie should give her son a t-shirt with her face on it, which says "My Mom's More Famous Than Your Mom!" It would be the perfect thing to wear to school.

Clarence Newman

After how well "Son in Law" went over, Im surprised no one has Mentioned "Jury Duty"

Variable38

Hi Cassie, Sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well lately, but thank God you're on the mend! I have to agree with everyone here in the comments, "The Verdict" is a great courtroom drama and classic Newman. Next to "The Hustler" (another Newman classic) it's the performance he should've been given an Oscar for. Perhaps that film should be watched separate from any polls. Just a thought. Happy birthday to your eldest!

cfb0453

@Chris Yeah it's very good. OJ: Made in America is also one of the best documentaries ever. I honestly doubt if Cassie knows too much about OJ, for some reason. @Mike Well, one of the reasons why the OJ case was so big was because the evidence was so overwhelming. I mean, it really was a no-brainer. Only the climate at that time, some incompetence, and the genius of Johnnie Cochran made sure it wasn't.

Shehab Dawoud

James Woods, good actor

V M

They hibernate in her colon

V M

That's very true, Matt. I became a Wilford Brimley fan because of that movie.

Clarence Newman

The Client - Brad Renfro was so incredibly talented. He and River Phoenix and Jonathan Brandis were some of my favorite actors that all had tragic endings.

Rose

@Chris The first half is a prison/youth detention movie, the second half a legal drama

Milton William Burray

Not to spoil the movie about it [ Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) ] but there wasn't the kind of evidence like in OJ.

Mike Lemon

Haven't seen Anatomy of the Fall yet...but think it won some awards. Mom and dad said it was really good.

Chris Thom

GREAT series. Haven't seen that in a while. But if she hasn't seen it that would be fun. But feels like everyone has seen it already.

Chris Thom

I remember Sleepers being good. But I'm blanking on the courtroom aspect. Thought it was about vigilantes.

Chris Thom

We can vote multiple times? Seriously?

Chris Thom

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. I’m so excited for your reaction to Frequency! Hope Carly will join you. Plus hope your oldest has a great b-day! Highly recommend Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) for upcoming courtroom poll. Legendary WWII pilot Robert “Rosie” Rosenthal from MoTA served as the assistant to the U.S. prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials. Also he interrogated infamous Nazi leader and war criminal Hermann Göring (who was a highly decorated flying ace and commanded the Luftwaffe). The film is a fictionalized version of the Nuremberg tribunal but it’s critically acclaimed with an all-star cast and incredible performances.

Rose

"Frequency" is a FANTASTIC movie!!! You will enjoy it, I'm sure!! I hope you're feeling better! Get rest and drink plenty of water. Take care.

David Livingston

I don't know too much about that one, I'd have to read up on it. Was the evidence as overwhelming as OJ's? With OJ it was more than just him. It was about the state of the country at the time, particularly in LA and what had happened in previous years.

Shehab Dawoud

@Clayton You are 100% correct sir😂

Cole Jennett

I pushed for it on your behalf. Even sent a DM.

Chris Thom

Happy birthday to your son! Omg I also eat those Costco potstickers constantly. Lol. At least three times a month. Looking forward to the Poppies. And I know many, many people on the channel are going to be very, very happy you are reacting to Frequency.

Chris Thom

it's a good movie that becomes amazing once Wilford Brimley shows up in the third act and steals the film. There's no way that it'd win in a poll but it's very much worth watching.

Matt Rose

Good one. Rainmaker might be perfect.

Chris Thom

Garner passed at 86, Sutherland at 88. Clint is 95 this year! Life seems short even when you live that long. As a song once said, "We are but a moment's sunlight fading in the grass".

Joe

The McMartin trial puts OJ to shame. McMartin was the longest trial in U.S. history and really kicked off the "Satanic Panic", OJ was just a spectacle because it was The Juice.

Mike Lemon

I think Cassie would love Absence of Malice, but I'd give it about 2% on a poll.

Clarence Newman

You're out of order, Brian!

Clarence Newman

Then I would expect since your a Rider fan, then it should be a Bunny hug not a hoodie. lol

Clayton Johnson

Just finished watching Undisputed, Mike. Thanks for the suggestion. Good movie, and Ving Rhames was perfect in the role of Chambers. Kind of wanted a bit more at the end, though. Did he do the crime? Did he not do the crime? Just needed that little bit more.

Clarence Newman

She did Philadelphia (1993) already Matt, I believe from the last time she did a courtroom poll

Cole Jennett

Her kids were born in the U.S. so their exposure to NFL would be much higher than CFL. Besides, I’d be pushing the Rough Riders😂

Cole Jennett

If you want time spent in the courtroom. The Rainmaker is Grisham's best, with Matt Damon and Claire Danes. The Verdict is a great courtroom drama with Paul Newman, directed by Sidney Lumet, who was the director of Twelve Angry Men, and the screenplay is by David Mamet.

Hollis Hamilton

Presumed Innocent Is great Courtroom Drama with Harrison Ford.

rakesh

One of the best father-son films there is

Archronos

The Verdict would be excellent choice for courtroom

Andrew Taylor

I have seen it only once myself when it came out, don't remember any details really. No reason she wouldn't like it.

Joe

Oh nice! I'm looking forward to her reaction to "Frequency." Great movie!

Stephen Dias

I understand the NFL hoodie, but has your kid heard of the Stampeders or Eskimos/Elks? not knowing which part of Alberta your from.

Clayton Johnson

The fruit, right? I think they're seasonal but check your local produce section.

Mike Lemon

Thanks, Dave. I was referring to a different kind of date! I'd ask you, but.....you know.... lol

bgb1975 (Brian)

Saturday, March 1 at 2pm Utah time

Dave

Very excited to watch Frequency and see your reaction to it.

D. T. Nelson

Cool Hand Luke "What we have here..is a failure to communicate!"

jreagan56

Anyone else having trouble finding a date for the poppies?

bgb1975 (Brian)

As a Seahawks fan, I cannot approve of the 49’ers hoodie.

bknsty14

My vote goes to "And Justice For All". Pacino at his best!

bgb1975 (Brian)

No, but when we give him a moral panic, Mike makes Lemonade.

Happy Hanukkah

No gummy bears Cassie!

Brent Petty

Frequency is an underrated GEM of a movie. Probably a bit short, but seriously approaching masterpiece level entertaining. Looking forward to seeing it again. Hope Carly comes along!!

David Collins

For the Paul Newman poll, Where the Money Is (2000). :-) OK, I'm just partial to Linda Fiorentino.

Happy Hanukkah

Yup. He should have won the Oscar for best actor in '82 instead of the one he got later for THE COLOR OF MONEY, but he had the misfortune of going up against Ben kingsley's uncanny portrayal of Gandhi that year.

Stick Figure Studios

Thanks! If only I'd read the entire voting form instead of just voting 50 times I would have known that!

Sam Wilson

The post on YouTube says March 1st @ 2pm MST

Jakob Rygh

Amen to separate polls for newer vs older films. Should be a standing rule. Newer will always win due to recency bias.

Just Plain Bob

So glad to see frequency up for reaction.

LDC7080

Happy to see Frequency coming up. As for courtroom poll. Anyone else feeling Rules of Engagement

Blaze118

I hope “Presumed Innocent”, based on the book of the same name by Scott Turow, is among the choices on the poll. For my money, Turow is a better writer than Grisham. Also, the movie stars Harrison Ford.

Just Plain Bob

Same question ❓

Louisa Moritz

@Mike LL That's been corrected.

Jake McNulty

In other words, no re-trials!!

Mike LL

Too bad there isn't a punch card for getting sick and you can get a free sandwich or something. Can't be there live, but will watch later.

Jakob Rygh

+ 1 for "In The Name of the Father"

Jake McNulty

You have a very fine list, but seem to be lacking The Rainmaker (1997). I would file suit, but I think further testimony may be needed. Please call a hearing while I round up the usual suspects!!

Mike LL

Very happy you are on the mend Cassie! As I'd like to be in my recliner with popcorn at the ready (crunch n' munch actually), I kind of worked out from the post on Instagram yesterday that the Poppies should begin around 3:00 p.m. mountain time , anybody know if that actually is the start time? Thanks in advance! 😀

Sam Wilson

Mike, I think you owe some sincere gratitude to yourself!

Mike LL

Jimmy Woods! Always all in on every role.

Above Average Dave

Glad your feeling better, also happy you’re watching Frequency. Even though I voted for Space Cowboy, glad your reacting to it because I know it was a popular choice even before the poll. Also very happy you’re going back to Courtroom drama movies. Really hope you finally get to watch The Rainmaker, The Client is also a good John Grisham film. Just a thought you could watch the top two or three 🤔😉 But here’s a few others I’d recommend Rules of Engagement (Sam Jackson & Tommy Lee Jones) The Lincoln Lawyer (Matthew McConaughey & Marisa Tomei) In The Name of the Father (Daniel Day Lewis) The Hurricane (Denzel) The Judge (Robert Downey Jr & Robert Duvall) Marshall (Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad & Kate Hudson) Not sure if you’ve already seen these. Just Mercy (Michael B Jordan & Jamie Fox) Liar Liar (Not a drama but it’s a fun film)

Dean Holt

More people should listen to that Lemon guy. He has some great ideas and a good taste in moves.

Mike Lemon

Ha! Funny how it came out to look that way. Of those, THE VERDICT is definitely the one that I'd champion the hardest. It's fantastic and Paul Newman puts in arguably his best acting performance. To that end, we could do a Paul Newman poll. THE VERDICT, ABSENCE OF MALICE, NOBODY'S FOOL, COOL HAND LUKE, and a plethora of others. CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, HUD...just a ton of great movies.

Matt Rose

Did someone mention The Verdict? Legendary Newman.

Clarence Newman

Matt has put THE VERDICT first and in BLOCK CAPITALS, clearly showing what a great and popular movie it is. The rest is clearly the result of his Caps Lock button getting stuck. 😄

Clarence Newman

We are BLESSED this week. Reaction queen is on the mend and we are getting Frequency! Thank you Cassie!

Archronos

So many good ones she’s yet to see

Cole Jennett

Right there with ya! But still so happy she is watching it!

Cole Jennett

+1 for Sleepers

Cole Jennett

Has Mike been greasing palms??

Clarence Newman

+1 for The Hurricane!

Cole Jennett

+12 for The Verdict

Clarence Newman

I've heard great things about it from this Mike Lemon character, though I have no frame of reference for his taste in movies. HOWEVER! I am watching Undisputed with my female tonight, so we're gonna find out.

Clarence Newman

Always worth mentioning, Joe.

Clarence Newman

I've heard great things about Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) from one of the Patreon supporters. After their glowing recommendation I watched and I have to agree. I think I'll watch it again tonight since it was so good.

Mike Lemon

Welcome back to the land of the living, Cassie. While you've been laid up in bed, your motley crew of patrons has been walking up and down the corridors like Mickey and Paulie in Rocky 2. Now you're awake, I want you to know that I've been thinkin..... "If you don't wanna be messin with the OG Planet of the Apes no more, we'll figure out some other kinda way, ya know?" As for the courtroom dramas, I've done a quick count and there are at least 72 suggestions for THE VERDICT with Paul Newman (no need to check - my word is oak), so maybe you could watch that one anyway and put all the others on a poll. Happy to see you well again. I always feel partially responsible when you're not.😞

Clarence Newman

Thank You so much for Frequency… John Grisham’s, The Rainmaker (1997) is a Must… and might as well throw in John Grisham’s, The Client (1994). Not so much Courtroom, but awesome Legal Thriller.

Larry Darrell

Sometimes after a good sickness that causes delays, I think she’s looking for an easy kickstarter to get things going again. Frequency was it. I’m pretty sure the same thing happened last year with Steel Magnolias.

Larry Darrell

The people are clamoring for it! If I were Cassie, I would just watch that one and give the masses what they want. Then have the poll.

Mike Lemon

Glad you are feeling better Courtroom movies list JFK Judgement at Nuremberg To Kill a Mockingbird The Hurricane

Bill Maurer

Hey Cassie! I can totally sympathize with how bad you were feeling this past week because I just got hit with it over the past two days. It was HORRIBLE! You’re right, I would not wish it on my worst enemy, and I pray that no one else in the PiB community has to contend with it. Can’t wait for the 4th annual Poppies! It’s the only awards show that I actually look forward to these days. Frequency is going to be a lot of fun, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be one of your favorite movies of 2025. Hope your oldest son has a fantastic birthday! 🎉 🎂

Dan M

Happy birthday to him !!

Neil Varma

Cassie, for a courtroom poll, please don't mix older films in with newer films in one poll. We need separate polls for older & modern. Will you randomly select the films from popcornrequest app?

Joe

Well, the odds were good Cassie would watch it....but sometimes she waits a long time to cycle back to 2nd place films.

Joe

Indeed. Shiny. You reminded me: Happy birthday to Eldest Son!

Happy Hanukkah

Glad you are feeling better Cassie, I’m nearly fully recovered too. Happy birthday to your eldest, I hope he has had a great day. 🎂🥳 Looking forward to the poppies, and frequency. I can’t think of another court room drama other than the ones already suggested. It’s not a court room drama but “The Insider” has lots of legal stuff in it and you love a true story! Yep I’ll keep on mentioning it!😆 Have a great week You are the best ❤️

Mark White

I hope your son has a great bday (you can’t go wrong with a 49’ers hoodie). Jagged Edge is a great courtroom drama from the 80’s. Nuremberg (with Alec Baldwin) is also a pretty good movie (it’s about the first round on Nazi war crimes).

Ted Whalen

Hey Cassie. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Stuart Guthrie Jr.

From Fiddler on the Roof (1971): "As the Good Book says, 'Heal us, O Lord, and we shall be healed.' In other words, send us the cure. We've got the sickness already." :-/

Happy Hanukkah

Looking forward to Frequency. After I got sick, I took Acetaminophen and I was good to go. Anyway, I knew you’ll get better…🙂

Anthony Carlson

Isn’t that a line from a Madonna song? 😄 So glad you’re feeling better Cassie! And happy birthday to your son! Niners fan huh? I see he has good taste! 😊 (I’m from the Bay Area)

Robert da Spruce

Glad to hear you’re doing well, Cassie

Richard Maurer

3 Legal Dramas • Sleepers (1996) • A Cry in the Dark (1988) • Class Action (1991)

Milton William Burray

The People vs O.J. Simpson is a really good short series about probably the biggest and most controversial trial ever. I doubt it'll be seen on here, but it could be something you could watch on your own time. That whole thing was just fascinating.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Cassie, and happy birthday to your eldest, hope he has a great day. If you're interested in some recommendations for courtroom films may I suggest: Paths of Glory (1957) Witness For the Prosecution (1957) Inherit the Wind (1960) ...And Justice For All (1979) The Verdict (1982) Presumed Innocent (1990) In the Name of the Father (1993) Sleepers (1996) Amistad (1997) The Rainmaker (1997) A Civil Action (1998) Big Eyes (2014) Denial (2016) Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Juror No.2 (2024)

Jake McNulty

A courtroom poll? Surely you'll include a movie that all the regulars here are quite familiar with: "Indictment: The McMartin Trial" (1995)! (I think that in some countries it was known as Fetching Amal.) :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Go Team Cassie!😊

Chris Clarke

Glad to hear you're feeling better! Maybe cross your eyes as well just in case. 🤭 I'm always game for a courtroom film. The Rainmaker (1997) and The Client (1994) are the last two John Grisham works you have yet to see. Other good courtroom films I think you'll love are: Ghosts Of Mississippi (1996) And Justice For All (1979) Rules Of Engagement (2000) High Crimes (2002) True Believer (1989) The Devil's Advocate (1997) The People vs Larry Flynt (1996) Kramer vs Kramer (1979)

Zane From Canada

Does this mean you'll be watching Reservoir Dogs? Glad you're doing better.

Happy Hanukkah

Great movie but yeah, same dilemma.

Matt Rose

I owe you an apology for assuming you weren't going to watch Frequency. I can't wait.

Seymor Butz

My personal issues with the leads of Frequency notwithstanding (shouldn't be too hard to guess my opinions of things haha), it's a great and entertaining movie

Courtroom suggestions: THE VERDICT (1982) WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION (1957) ANATOMY OF A FALL (2023) INHERIT THE WIND (1960) PHILADELPHIA (1993) KRAMER VS KRAMER (1979) JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG (1961)

Matt Rose

Hoping for The Verdict or the Rainmaker on the poll

Choof

I'm pretty sure Cassie has been sick a solid 2 months.

Nathan Swapp

She's already seen this on the channel, fantastic reaction

Choof

Only Castor Troy 😂 Congratulations on your oldest. 🎉 Looking forward to Frequency, it a good movie. 👌

Ib-René Jørgensen

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

The Rainmaker is the simple solution to the courtroom poll. Long requested, based on a John Grisham novel, starring Matt Damon and Danny DeVito. It's practically elementary! There now. Only 367 things left to do! Hope you are really getting better. One could worry about you. On to the Poppies and glory!!

Mike LL

Courtroom Poll! My Cousin Vinny is hilarious and has Joe Pesci from Lethal Weapon!

Eric Capretta

So glad to hear you're going better, Cassie. Looking forward to the Poppies. You will like FREQUENCY I'm sure. A courtroom poll is a great idea. Please, put THE VERDICT with Paul Newman on there. It's not only one of the best courtroom dramas of all time, it's one of Newman's greatest performances

Stick Figure Studios

I recommend Tommy Lee Jones again in U.S Marshalls. Wesley Snipes (Blade) & Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man). Incredible cast in that movie.

Joshua Campbell

Glad you’re feeling better! COURTROOM POLL. Now is our chance for The Client, let’s dooo ittttt!!!!

Omar

Frequency is a great movie for this channel!
