Risky Business (1983) - Full Reaction

Well I think this would have obviously been a different reaction if i watched in high school, but the mom in me came out a bit ;) haha It was really fun to see Tom Cruise this young in his breakout role! Also to see the iconic living room dancing scene, a big pop culture list check mark!

Risky Business (1983) - Full Reaction

Comments

I'm a big Tom cruise, as an actor, fan forever. I love the 80s, and I've never seen this or All the Right Moves.

JohnnyUtah

The 80s , what a great time to be alive! Lol

Jason Henderson

I don't know how I didn't see this posted. I haven't seen this in 20 years. It's not one of my favorite early TC movies that would go to Taps, but I will still watch it. Sometimes you gotta say what the frick.

Eddie Perkins

To quote my old, southern grandma....Bless your heart.

crazyivan

Supposedly that exact car from the movie got sold for a ton a cash recently.

Chris Thom

We would use that line, Walter, any time we had a test coming up and we were out the night before, no matter what we were doing. One of us would say "Oh, yeah, I have a psych test tomorrow." The other would respond "You have a psych test tomorrow and you're being chased by Guido, the killer pimp?" it was a running joke, which of course just made it funnier. Eventually we just said it ourselves... "I have a psych test tomorrow and I'm being chased by Guido, the killer pimp."

V M

I like to think of Risky Business as the Maverick origin story.

Walter

"I have a trig exam tomorrow and I'm being chased by Guido, the killer pimp." is the line that always stayed with me :)

Walter

My favorite early Tom Cruise is “All the Right Moves” because I had a celebrity crush on Lea Thompson.

Darren Harrison

From that core of 1980s medieval fantasy movies Willow is my personal favourite, after Labyrinth Like all Ron Howard movies it's got a lot of heart

Milton William Burray

LAWL Porche 928S for $40k hahaha different times...

Jon Johns

This was actually my buddy’s house growing up and his current house was used in US

Jason Dolan

You may say you were too much in your adult, "mommy" head when you watched this, Cassie, but it sure looked and sounded like you enjoyed the heck out of it, but maybe in a guilty pleasure way. If we did a drinking game where we drank every time you would kind of gasp with your mouth open while smiling super widely, we'd all die of alcohol poisoning. Personally, I loved the reaction, which I wasn't sure I would after reading what you wrote about the reaction. Favorite lines: "You're quick, Joel. Have you always been this quick or is it something new?" "I have a trig exam tomorrow and I'm being chased by Guido, the killer pimp." "In a sluggish economy, never **** with another man's livelihood" My first college roommate and I would use these lines in every day conversation.

Art of Free Speech

Isn't 'The Last Samurai'?

JPDotCom23

No, first appearance he made in a movie was 'Endless Love' in with Brooke Shields, then he showed up in 'Taps' with Timothy Hutton, George C. Scott and Sean Penn, then 'Losin' It', all in 1981. Then 'The Outsiders' in 1982, followed by this movie.

JPDotCom23

I love Lady Samurai! A little racy, but done in good taste.

Thomas Thompson

Is Willow really that much better though?

Chris Thom

According to Tatum in Scream if you watch All the Right Moves you can see his penis.

Chris Thom

Kind of got the feeling it was trying to be a contender for Oscars.

Chris Thom

Love the cinematography in Thief. All those Michael Mann blues and yellows. Very pretty to look at. Manhunter was nice too.

Chris Thom

I could never get it to work either.

Chris Thom

Definitely feels like it was trying to be a classier, more serious take on the trend. Just read the director also did Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Chris Thom

The Outsiders was his first movie?

Chris Thom

So curious what private owners do with these artifacts once they acquire them. Like do they rent them out to museums or conventions for cash? Or do they lock them away. Just saw Ben Stiller on a talk show talking about his Star Trek OS props. Apparently he has that weird lizard head mask thing. And an old intercom.

Chris Thom

Was just looking at his imdb. Yeah he's been going strong since forever. Never realized he did some voices on my favorite cartoons as a kid.

Chris Thom

Legit miss saxophone in movies. It's nice. A tad pornographic...but nice.

Chris Thom

Had no idea that existed. But that's some 1985 radness. They really put that fog machine to work.

Chris Thom

Your number one criterion is to parrot every 'movie critics' list of classics. It ain't a classic if you only see it once every 20 years or so. And those classics are old, slow and not really worth watching. Godfather, Apocalypse Now and 2001? Give me Smokey and the Bandit, Midnight Run and The Bad News Bears - those I'll watch every time they come on the air. Entertainment without all the pretension of a critics thoughts of glorifying war, slow sci-fi and other crap.

crazyivan

I did a pub quiz years ago with a few friends and that was one of the questions. and everyone other than myself on the table thought he was wearing sunglasses. So I got outvoted and we got it wrong, I was a little smug though after it 😂. But if I’m ever with any of my mates and that comes up I always remind them lol.

Dean Holt

Yeah, they'd both love the rape scene. What a bunch of idiots - they don't seem to remember the movie they're pushing. Did you even see that movie?

crazyivan

The 1980s were wild and I wasn't even one of the wildest kids. Late 1970 may actually have been wilder.

TheSingulatarian

The odometer is exactly how my father caught me for diving his car when he went away on vacation.

TheSingulatarian

That's why next to Generation X every other generation is soft.

TheSingulatarian

He was just in the new Beverly Hills Cop movie. Not retired! :)

Philip Alan

So I guess I’m making dirty puns and not even realizing it. Great 🤦‍♂️

Larry Darrell

The Last Samurai is one of her best reactions.

Clay F

I was 20 in 1983, one year younger than Cruise.

Clay F

My No. 1 criterion is I vote for my favorite movies. Cassie's preferences (e.g., chick flicks, happy endings) are a criterion but not my No. 1 criterion. I like to vote for movies that I think might give an interesting and/or engaging reaction. I do like to vote for movies I think she will like or at least tolerate. I also like to vote for movies that might provoke her or make her think or that she feels emotion or that exposes her to subject matter she is unfamiliar -- but is never to simply freak her out -- that is ridiculous.

Clay F

www.popcornrequests.com Or click on "Popcorn Requests" in helpful links above.

Clay F

What did y’all do to my comment? What are y’all thinking? Y’all didn’t do what I think you did did you?

Larry Darrell

🤣

Rick Rodriguez

Oh that's right, I did see that. You are well on your way then, but still have a lot of catching up to do. It's incredible how many movies you still have to catch up on, how in the world did we do it?

JPDotCom23

night and day!!

Cassie

woah, ya i literally just watched it and if you would have asked me i would have said he was wearing sunglasses

Cassie

so many good ones i still need to get to! i do have a reaction to the lady samurai already though

Cassie

This is Jesse Mach, an ex-motorcycle cop, injured in the line of duty. Now a police troubleshooter, he’s been recruited for a top secret government mission to ride Street Hawk — an all-terrain attack motorcycle designed to fight urban crime, capable of incredible speeds up to three hundred miles an hour, and immense firepower. Only one man, federal agent Norman Tuttle, knows Jesse Mach’s true identity. The man…the machine…Street Hawk.

V M

weird, i actually haven’t seen that one, must have been a mistake on my letterboxd

Cassie

omg i knew i recognized barry!!

Cassie

It will drive the October folks wild, but I think that’s a good candidate for October.

Cole Jennett

Balki Bartokomous and some Revenge of the Nerds alumni.

Brian's Dog

Well, if you want to see a movie that’s worth its “R” rating and check out The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from 2011 directed by David Fincher and starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. It very much earns that rating. And it is an excellent movie that Cassie should watch with her sister I think.

REDR58

This movie is great. I first saw it when I was a teenager, and it had a big impression on me. It was every boy's dream. I wanted to be Joel. Great reaction Cassie. It is a movie you have to see for the first time as a young adult or teen to really appreciate it. It is different seeing it when you are older.

Rick Williams

Cassie, if you wanna see another very early Tom Cruise movie, his first major role, check out “Taps” from 1981. It is directed by Harold Becker and was filmed at Valley Forge Military Academy in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, near where I grew up and went to school so it’s significant for me in that way.

REDR58

My second favorite line was, “Hey Magellan, you know this part of the country has already been discovered.”

Uncle Phoenix

Oh that's right. Almost forgot about that show.

Chris Thom

Love finding filming houses like that in multiple movies. Still weirds me out that the Scream 2 sorority house is the Catch Me if you Can house.

Chris Thom

Woah synth overload. Lol. Yeah like that. But for the movie scores I prefer the slower stuff.

Chris Thom

Oh wow didn't realize that was the same actress.

Chris Thom

She's also in Feds (1988) if people want a comedy.

Mike Lemon

I snorted my soft drink at the theater when i first heard that line, was the one I repeated all next week!

Keith Jones

balki bartokomous!

V M

Chris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i7ppYRLmeQ This?

V M

Rebecca De Mornay is so stunning, wow what a lady back in the day.

Sujan Ra

You should watch The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) which has the lady from this film Rebecca De Mornay, It's a very good movie.

Sujan Ra

Bronson Pinchot was a pretty big star there for a while. Always wondered if he retired?

Chris Thom

Tangerine Dream was the best. Pure 80's nostalgia synth vibes. Used to love the Legend score/soundtrack.

Chris Thom

I love this movie, always have. I hadn't seen it since it first came out in theaters (guess my age, lol,) but I loved it even more now. Cassie, your reaction was pure and genuine, and helped remind me of how good a movie it was. To those commenters who disparage it, you just may be putting your idealistic views of how people SHOULD be instead of how people and life really are. Maybe not, just wondering. Cassie, you mentioned in an email that there's a place for me to go to make further recommendations. Specifically, where is that?

Jeff

Lea Thompson doing anything anywhere is worth watching the film for. Shouldst we forget that she almost made Howard the Duck worth watching?

Clarence Newman

I love this movie. I remember seeing it when it first came out and it definitely has a nostalgic vibe for me. The director, Paul Brickman, did an outstanding job. I love his choices, his use of slo-mo, the editing and cinematography, plus the excellent soundtrack by Tangerine Dream. Your reaction was great... I really enjoyed it. I thought the sex scenes and subject matter would be too much for you, but you handled it well!

Phillip Bates

A Few Good Men... Your reaction to this movie was priceless... the looks on your face said everything. Very edgy movie but with one of the most iconic scenes in movie history with him dancing in his tighty whiteys... great cast.. classic 80s movie that totally would probably not be made today except for maybe straight to streaming service. I havent seen this one in ages.. the 1st time was probably on HBO in the 80s when I probably was waaaaaaayyyy too young to be watching it... but thats what us pervy young boys did back then I guess. This one is up there with like Revenge of the Nerds which is also an edgy movie for its time and also had Curtis Armstrong in it. Anyways.. thanks for watching Cass.. loved watching it with you as always.

Johnny Bullis

*sigh…*

Evil Darth Carl

Lol I’ll look out for that.

Omar

I totally agree. More Christopher McQuarrie please. He was so nice.

Uncle Phoenix

I vote for Tom Cruise in “Taps”.

Uncle Phoenix

Lea Thompson on the street playing a saxophone softly glowing in the dim street lights is SO iconic.

Uncle Phoenix

Yeah it wasn’t advertised as a remake, but once you realize it, the influence is clear.

Larry Darrell

Fun Fact: the RISKY BUSINESS house is the same house as the AMERICAN PIE house - check the staircase 😉

Jason Dolan

“Sorcerer” is a fantastic film but it’s too little known for Cassie to choose it and if, by some miracle, it ended up on a poll it would lose badly. It’s a shame, because it’s one of those rare instances where the remake is better than the original (“The Wages of Fear”).

Just Plain Bob

At the time I first saw “Girl Next Door” I knew it reminded me of another movie but couldn’t think which one. You’re absolutely right, it was “Risky Business.”

Just Plain Bob

1983,ten years before my time,I missed out....

Celeste McAllister

My very first job my boss looked exactly like Guido The Killer Pimp. :D

Vwlss Nvwls

I think Cassie and Carly would love ALL THE RIGHT MOVES

Jason Dolan

I had forgotten how good the Tangerine Dream songs in the soundtrack worked in this movie. It has been so long since the last time I watched it. Such a great movie, and that music just hits all the marks.

Vwlss Nvwls

That’s often the case with these polls. The worst ones oftentimes win.

Alex Gorell

Cassie, you appeared to miss a couple of repeat performers in the movie. Joe Pantoliano, who played Guido the pimp, was also Cypher in “The Matrix” (the traitor) and Teddy the cop in “Memento.” And Bronson Pinchot, who played Joel’s friend Barry, was also in “True Romance” as Elliott, the actor that hooks Clarence up with the movie producer for the sale of the cocaine. PS: About the car rolling downhill and into the lake. It wasn’t Lana’s fault, it was Joel’s. If you rewatch the scene you’ll notice he accidentally knocked the gear shift into neutral. Only the fact that they were leaning against it kept it from rolling downhill sooner. PPS: This was a better movie than I remembered and Cassie’s reaction was funner than heck! I also think she’d love “Real Genius”, another 80s movie starring Tom Cruise’s old wingman Val Kilmer.

Just Plain Bob

“Who is the U-Boat Commander?” Literally my favorite line from this movie.

Uncle Phoenix

I haven’t watched this movie in a long time. But considering that the PG-13 rating didn’t exist until the following year, and in many countries the original rating was for audiences above 14–16, and some re-ratings placed it at 12–14, I doubt this would be a hard R movie. Even the parental guidance mentions only moderate nudity, profanity, and alcohol/drugs/smoking. By today’s standards, I guess it might even land a PG-13 rating or would be very close to it.

Gábor Árki

For me Joe Pantoliano will always be the loathsome Ralphie from the 'Sopranos'......

Celeste McAllister

Couple of things to add to the conversation. Whether you like the movie or not one can't help but admit that it is iconic. It was a big swing at the time with it's over the top story line. The emerging Star power of Tom Cruise combined with magnetic attraction of Rebecca De Mornay made this a hit back in the day. Add in the Porsche 928 and it was a sure fire hit. In 2021 the star car was sold at auction. The 1979 coupe, driven by Tom Cruise's character in the 1983 film hammered for $1,980,000 at Barrett-Jackson's Houston sale, smashing through anyone's top estimate and, as you might expect, setting a record paid at auction for any Porsche 928.

How about everyone try to remember why 70/80's R rated movies were rated R. T&A, violence, language. Today's R rated movies simply get an R rating by having a character drop 2 F bombs. And you all know what the ladies like to watch and don't like to watch. So, give them what they want and stop acting all shocked when they react to an 'old' R movie. And don't get me started on 70's PG movies. The selections y'all are voting for are simply stupid and don't seem to care what Cassie's preferences are. Y'all's selections are going to eventually run me off. Too many "I wonder if this one will freak her out" selections being made.

crazyivan

I forgot that Booger and Serge were in this

David Patterson

Big yes to Beverly Hills Cop and Cocktail, but your Perfect Strangers nod has made me think of an even better use of the first word.... Jamie Lee Curtis is literally perfect in "Perfect" (1985)

Clarence Newman

Now you're here with your avatar, Mill, we might have a shot of getting "Stripes" watched.

Clarence Newman

How would a father know if someone had driven their car without modern conveniences, i.e. cameras? If the father was shrewd enough and cared about the car as much as the father here purported, they would have noted down the odometer value before leaving. Pretty low tech, but reliable way of see if the car was used. Been a long time since I have seen this. I think it always reminds me of "Night Shift" with Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler, which has similar ideas, and I think I have liked it better than "Risky Business". It is really only a couple of moments that made it iconic, particularly the dancing. But wasn't against this being moved onto the seen list. Seeing Bronson Pinchot makes we think we still need to see "Beverly Hills Cop" for one of his more iconic roles. But, it competes with the theme from "Perfect Strangers" as the first thing I think about with regards to him. Always been suprised that "Cocktail" has been unseen by PIB, maybe something that needs to be considered in February.

Mojo One Thousand

The same thing happened with The Warriors, Mark. I bought the DVD a couple of years back and was infuriated to find they'd recut it so that each scene started and finished with a comic book artwork of the scene. Totally wrecked the continuity and made it cartoonish.

Clarence Newman

The Outsiders is a must see. But it has to be the original. Not the remastered 2005 one! That horrendous new soundtrack ruined the movie! As the director try’s to turn it into some kind of gangster movie! The original soundtrack was beautiful and full of heart.

Mark White

Oh my god, Cassie SO needs to watch “The Outsiders” Patrick Swayze , Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe and Ralph Macchio and more. one of my favourites and a American classic. It was required reading in high school and we were shown the movie by our English Teacher. As long as it’s the Original and not the terrible re-mastered version, with the horrendous soundtrack!! Trying to turn it, into some sort of gangster/pulp fiction soundtrack! The original soundtrack was so much better and gave real heart to the movie.

Mark White

That's when he went from Thomas Mapother to Tom Cruise

TheSingulatarian

She's seen it. The "already watched" list- https://letterboxd.com/popcorn_in_bed/films/

Mike Lemon

Same here, I could not finish it, even with Cassie. It was plain boring to me and I did not care one second for Tom Cruise's character.

René Ferland

I was eighteen in 1983 senior year of high school/freshman year of college. About the same age a Cruise's character. The skill of the director helped to elevate this above the typical boner comedy. "Losing It" Cruise's first movie. Now that was a boner comedy with no other redeeming features.

TheSingulatarian

You want to see Tom Cruise dance you need to watch "Tropic Thunder".

TheSingulatarian

I was 18 in 1983 the same age as Cruise's character.

TheSingulatarian

The skill of the director helps elevate this film beyond just another boner comedy. Now "Losing It" which was Cruise's first film was a boner comedy with no other redeeming value.

TheSingulatarian

Watching The Outsiders and then watching Risky Business, it becomes clear that there was only one thing Tom Cruise needed before stardom would come knocking. He needed to divorce his original teeth.

Clarence Newman

"Sorcerer". She needs to watch more William Freidkin even if she never watches "The Exorcist".

TheSingulatarian

Another vote for "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle". Great thriller and it even has Q from Star Trek in a small role. (Edit) Wow I blame that I just woke up for that. I swear that I am not mentally challenged.

TheSingulatarian

Glad you did this movie, been years since I've seen this one, was worth it to see your reaction. Cruise already had the screen presence, even at that age. You should also check out 'The Outsiders', 'The Color of Money', 'Born on the Fourth of July', 'The Last Samurai', 'Valkyrie', to name but a few.

JPDotCom23

I have it on 4K. I have all Michael Mann’s films.

djKENTO

Risky Business was sort of remade into or just heavily influenced another film, which is actually really good as well. Same themes. The Girl Next Door (2004) Worth a watch if you liked Risky Business.

Larry Darrell

I was 20 in 1983. I remember that time well.

Clay F

100% Dan - I love the soundtrack, too. He’s a legend and his song “La Bamba” was in “Grease.” They gotta do it eventually ^.^

Rose

On paper this is a typical 80s boner comedy, but add some Tangerine Dream and some moody lighting and it's somehow elevated. It's not a bad movie, but it obviously would have had more resonance in Reagan's America.

Carol_White

She was finally introduced to Tangerine Dream. Thief (1981) is one of my most favorite albums, not just soundtrack. I highly recommend the film… Thief (1981)

Larry Darrell

They also still need to watch Chris and Tom's other non-M:I collaboration.

Stick Figure Studios

Maybe they could react to the film Christopher McQuarrie recommended to them on the red carpet, which is one of his and Tom’s favorite films… to grease the wheels a bit, you know. Talking ‘bout… Klute (1971)

Larry Darrell

NIGHT SHIFT was basically Michael Keaton's RISKY BUSINESS.

Stick Figure Studios

Enjoyed your reaction. I did see the mother coming out in you. Risky Business rated R for language and sensuality. (Released 40+ years ago) The role of Joel was first offered to Timothy Hutton (the older dad in The Haunting of Hill House). To appear more like a teenager, Cruise (who was 20 during filming) supposedly lost 10 pounds and then ate fatty foods to put on some 'baby' fat.

Clay F

I second the vote for Cassie and Carly to watch La Bamba, Rose. Not only is the movie fantastic, the soundtrack is amazing.

Dan M

First time watching for me too. I was expecting a more john Hughes-type antics. I guess I appreciate it was a little more serious and that everything with Lana and their relationship is ambiguous. I wouldn't say I was uncomfortable (I voted for American psycho after all) but it just felt very dated with prostitution and characters in high school being treated like a wacky set piece just felt off to me.

Choof

Cypher, before meeting Morpheus.

Rick Rodriguez

A young Ralphie

Clay F

I liked NIGHT SHIFT back in the day

Clay F

I guess there was a reason why I never watched this movie as a teen. I figured 'why not' let's watch this for the first time with PIB. I couldn't really get through it. Even with Cassie looking on! Of course I know this movie from its infamous scene, but nothing else was appealing to me. And I loved being surprised (after not seeing the opening credits) that Rebecca De Mornay (Lana) was in this. I loved her in "The Hand Rocks The Cradle." Let's watch "Cocktail" next, yes?

Philip Alan

Joe Pantoliano will always be Ralphie in The Sopranos to me.

Clay F

I just went back and had a look at the poll and Risky Business is probably the worst movie on it

Milton William Burray

Oh, and Cassie, here is your periodic reminder to watch LAWRENCE OF ARABIA in the theater space.

Stick Figure Studios

Right on!

Rick Rodriguez

I can’t request on the website. Doesn’t work.

Thomas Thompson

He'll always either Jake Fratelli or Eddie Muscone, bail bondsman to me.

Stick Figure Studios

As I said, I haven't watched it in a long time, but I suspect it's one of those "you had to be there" kind of things.

Stick Figure Studios

Cassie&Carly should see “La Bamba”! I sent them the Criterion blu-ray a while ago. LDP’s portrayal of Ritchie Valens was awesome.

Rose

Joe Pantoliano to me will always be Cypher the traitor :P

V M

I see what you did there.

Stick Figure Studios

I didnt like risky business all that much either

V M

lol

V M

I can see an Instagram video of Cassie re-enacting the loungroom scene now, fully clothed of course.😁

Brian McGovern

Gotta love Bob Seger https://youtu.be/W1LsRShUPtY?si=Em-P0JNip8d7cy-l

Anthony Carlson

Yeah. That wouldn't feel awkward at all.😆

Brian McGovern

It's like when movies show somebody performing HAMLET and he's holding up the skull while saying the "to be or not to be" speech and I always think to myself, "Nope! Two different scenes!"

Stick Figure Studios

Coming of Age Indeed. :-)

Larry Darrell

P.S. If You do get invited to the premiere of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FINAL RECKONING this year, now you can tell Tom personally that you've seen him in his undies. ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

And Curtis Armstrong and Bronson Pinchot?

Stick Figure Studios

You know what they say…hindsight is 20/20.

Dan M

I still have a hard time seeing Joe Pantoliano as a pimp. He’ll always be Richie Valens manager in La Bamba to me.

Dan M

Cruise actually auditioned for the role of Joel while he was filming The Outsiders. What an outstanding cast of young talent…besides Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, and Leif Garrett.

Dan M

Now that is an intriguing suggestion.

Stick Figure Studios

Where's the love for Joey Pants!?!?

Rick Rodriguez

Also, he was very determined to get it right. Which led to the slide which is now legendary.

Rick Rodriguez

It gets deeper, ironically, the older you get.

Rick Rodriguez

Mandela Effect.

Chris Thom

Haha…I’m now picturing in my mind you scolding Tom Cruise for being irresponsible and promiscuous. Yes, I can honestly say my reaction to this movie the first time I saw it in high school was very much the reaction of a teenage male. FYI…the dance scene to Old Time Rock n Roll was completely improvised by Tom Cruise. And after this movie premiered in 1983, the sales of RayBan sunglasses went through the roof, saving the company from a financial crisis.

Dan M

Personally, I never thought RISKY BUSINESS was a particularly good movie. It has some amusing moments, but it's definitely a product of its time (the '80s: when films like this and Ron Howard's NIGHT SHIFT made prostitution "cool") and it is of interest now mainly for launching Tom Cruise's career. It's not uncommon to be able to point to a particular film that turned an actor into a star, but in this case, you can actually pinpoint it to a precise scene: namely, Tom in his underwear dancing in the living room. I haven't watched it in a long time and wasn't really planning on revisiting it for this reaction, but you know, sometimes you just got to say "What the f**k?"

Stick Figure Studios

Well my Friday night movie has been decided lol, fun little thing about the iconic dance scene when you see most people parodying it they tend to do it in Sunglasses, which has lead to people thinking he actually did it in sunglasses when he didn’t.

Dean Holt

Interested to see what you think of the score.

djKENTO

TC is more baby-ish looking in his earlier roles - one of them is “The Outsiders” (1983). I had a huge crush on Sodapop (aka Rob Lowe). Aww loved this cast.

Rose

This was my first ever Tom Cruise movie. My older brother took me to see this in the theater when I was 14. I have been a fan of Tom Cruise ever since. I watched this movie so many times through high school and since that I have it memorized line for line. Absolutely love this one.

Vwlss Nvwls

"Gimme that old time Rock n Roll" or get chased by Guido the killer pimp! 🎸

Celeste McAllister

Hahaha. A complete different character reaction from Ethan Hunt. It's gonna be awesome seeing this again after 20+ years.

Jimmy Reyes

So like a year and a half ago, I visited The Outsiders house in Oklahoma. The private set photographer was there that day, selling some photos. He told me an interesting story. He only took one picture of Tom Cruise, because Tom was a nobody at the time. He received the script for Risky Business while he was doing the Outsiders. The guy said now he wishes he had taken more Tom photos because he blew up after Risky Business

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Actually never seen it myself. So looking forward to the full watch along with you.
