Upcoming...

Hey guys! How are you? I know it hasn't been an easy start to 2025 as we watch the devastating fires unfold. It is breaking my heart and I have just felt this non stop pit in my stomach thinking about all of those who lost everything. I keep making mental notes on what I would grab-ink prints of my babies footprints, letter my mom wrote me when I was a teenager, grandma's recipes, my kids comfort animals and blankets. Even thinking about this now is making my heart ache for people who didn't even get that kind of preparation. Project Hope and LAFD are what I have found to be reputable places to donate. I have also contributed to individual go fund me's. It's so much, it feels overwhelming to know where and how to help. I saw something that said "do one thing for one person you wish you could do for everyone" and that helped a lot. Do the next right thing. Is there anyone here in our kernel community that have been affected?

LA Fire Department

Project Hope

This week for movies we have Gladiator (switched it last week with conspiracy theory) as well as Crocodile Dundee II and Star Trek:Beyond. A lot of strong men in my life ;) Next week will be our Poll Week and I will watch all three winners from the 3 Top Requests Poll! (And yes once you download the results there were true winners...by 3 votes) You sneaky little guys trying to tie those up! Not saying I won't watch the runner uppers, but top 3 for sure next week!

The Extra Butter Live this month will be on Monday the 27th at 7pm-ish. More details as it gets closer! The 4TH ANNUAL POPPIES WILL TENTATIVELY BE THE FIRST WEEKEND IN MARCH!

Carly and I's newest podcast episode was random but very fun and I am loving reading through the patreon comments on all your REPORTS! Patreon Link, YT Link

Ok guys, hope you are having a hibernating January, hope you are safe and you are all the best!

Comments

based from laurel and hardy tom and jerry funniest film called mouse hunt make Cassie's tears of laughter it is funny movie

David

Sorry for late response, you can buy Orange Mini Eggs at any Tesco store in the UK!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

[nerd glasses on] It's technically an 'alternate adaptation,' NOT a remake, since it's based on material from another medium. [nerd glasses off] šŸ¤“

Byrd N. Hand

How about instead she watches the film in third place, Rocky Horror Picture Show. I mean if she’s not going to to watch True Grit that would be the next logical choice.

Richard Maurer

@Maisie- Yes she has.

Mike Lemon

Has she seen the one with Hailee Steinfeld and Jeff Bridges?

Maisie

Why would she substitute a movie ranked 280 for the runner-up in the 101-200 poll? Especially when she hasn't seen the runner-up.

Mike Lemon

Cassie mentioned she might watch the Request polls runner-ups. Since she has already seen the "True Grit" remake with Jeff Bridges, I propose we substitute a different John Wayne western. Perhaps "The Searchers", which is highly requested, or have a new poll to decide.

Joe

Honestly, I think "The Fabelmans" is one of Spielberg's absolute best films, and it annoys me how little attention it continues to get. 😣

Byrd N. Hand

Still no Clarence? This is odd.

Richard Maurer

I think you may have posted the wrong link, as that video says it's 9 years old, and is unable to be viewed in my country. Here's the clip for people to watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POgWODZyUGQ I'll definitely have to watch Febelmans sometime.

YodatheHobbit

I LLLOOOOVVEEE The Fabelmans.

Rick Rodriguez

Just take a left. Cross the Nefud Desert and straight ahead. Can't miss it. The one with the camel in front.

Rick Rodriguez

Bela's and Christopher's portrayals are definitely different. The 1931 version relied more on psychological suspense. Children of the night, what music they make. Renfield was scarier than Dracula.

V M

Chris, if you have the time and like Gladiator, you should watch her original full reaction to Gladiator. It was the 11th movie she reacted to.

Clay F

I've never seen it

V M

Stranger, well said. It is sad to see people politicizing this disaster with lies.

Clay F

Just so you know I changed my Pick-A-Flick to Nosferatu(1922)

Mark Vaderr

One of Spielberg's better films in a while. Think she might enjoy that. Love the end scene with the kid at the locker after the graduation party.

Chris Thom

I'm abstaining from commenting further.

My_Cousin_Mose

I'll keep my eyes peeled!šŸ«šŸŠ

Chris Clarke

YES to Cadbury Orange. So good.

Chris Thom

Have you included Cadburys Orange Mini Eggs? I know you can get the ordinary kind in the USA and Canada, but I don't think the orange flavoured kind are available there...

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

It is indeed from Hammer studios- coolest studio name ever.

Richard Maurer

I love all those films!

Rose

I love Fred Astaire, but would rather see something like Funny Face, Easter Parade or Royal Wedding.

William Brownlee

That's true, but is that on public officials or the government, or is that on individual homeowners? Most suburban homes have bushes and trees in their yards, and that's their private property. Also, that is not the same as living in a forest. Finally, if you look at videos of the destroyed areas, I thought it was interesting that a lot of the trees and lawns survived while the houses all burned down. This fire spread from house to house because most of these houses were built long before there were current fire codes protecting against what type of roofing materials are used, how the eaves are constructed, etc. I can speak from experience that insurance companies in California have already been forcing homeowners to make these types of changes (along with the distance of trees and brush from their homes) or else they deny them insurance. But these types of adjustments are far from cheap, often costing tens of thousands of dollars to make. So is there blame to be had? Are there things that could have been done to prevent this tragedy? Sure, but they were not on the part of the government, nor were they cheap to carry out.

Stranger2Reality

@TheSingulatarian - ??? Not about movies? What about Major League? He also had a hit TV show.

Mike Lemon

Another good movie for February would be a Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers film šŸ¤āœØ ā€œSwing Timeā€ & ā€œTop Hatā€ are considered their best films out of the 10 that they made together during the 30s and 40s. Timeless elegance and lighthearted entertainment - romance aficionados should know this iconic dancing duo.

Rose

Aww RIP. The last vids I saw of him he looked pretty healthy. Such a bummer. There was nobody quite like him or his style. He will be missed.

Chris Thom

I really need to send her a Howard the Duck poster...I know it would be prominently displayed, lol.

Joe

RIP David Lynch, I thought I'd share a clip of his final on screen acting role; Portraying legendary Hollywood director, John Ford in Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical film, The Fabelmans (2022). It is based on the real life meeting of a teenage Spielberg meeting one of his heroes, John Ford. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk6spjF98No

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Many of the videos I have seen of the fire residents had greenery almost right up to the sides of their houses trees and shrubs. There is nothing you can do that is more important to save your house from wildfire than to cut the greenery back from your home. twenty to thirty feet.

TheSingulatarian

The Great Baby Boomer die off has begun. Expect many celebrity deaths in the coming year. Nothing to do with movies but Bob Ucker also died today.

TheSingulatarian

Although you can buy Toblerone in the UK, it is actually originally from Switzerland

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Sadly yes, it has just been announced

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I did enjoy it. Super fun movie. That era of Hammer movies (I think it's called?) has a cool charm to it.

Chris Thom

Nooooooooo. Are you serious? He died today?

Chris Thom

Still always think of the Toblerone bar from that Friends episode.

Chris Thom

I have put together another small bundle of edible English goodies, which I shall post to Popcorn HQ asap!😊

Chris Clarke

A natural disaster shouldn't be political, and instead should just be about the victims. But scan these comments and you'll see people trying to make cheap political points over this disaster, while spreading lies about what happened. I don't see anyone pushing back on what they're saying. I am not being political, I am just advocating for telling the truth about what happened. If you want to tell people to stop talking politics, there are others in this thread you can direct that comment at.

Stranger2Reality

RIP David Lynch 1946-2025. A truly great Hollywood director. There is a brilliant Scene By Scene interview with him, filmed in 1999, discussing his best films. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIlmdLPUdpg

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Looks like Pick-a-flick may be the only realistic option for HoD. "The Fog" (1980) is my current PaF, because even that film can't place on a poll.

Joe

Joe - I think if HoD were up against the Universal classics it wouldn’t have a chance because there’s a bias for them being the ā€œbestā€ versions. If the poll excluded the Universal movies and was 50’s. - 60’s classic horror I think it would have a much better chance. Although it would still depend on what American movies were on the poll as there’s also a general American made bias here.

Richard Maurer

Excellent question!

Mike LL

Richard, as Clarence is conspicuous with his absence and he is usually here to back you up, I shall second HoD. (Do hope he is alright)

Mark White

Let's just not talk politics or how it happened as per Cassie's rules and focus on the victims.

My_Cousin_Mose

Do you think HoD would place on a 50s horror poll? We need the right kind of poll.

Joe

Horror of Dracula - endorsed by more than just me - ā€œI watched Horror of Dracula the other night and I really enjoyed it. I get it nowā€ - Chris Thom. (Hope you don’t mind I made this post Chris, but this movie needs all the help it can get)

Richard Maurer

V M Bella Lugosi isn’t even Number 2 on that list. His portrayal is ā€œclassicā€, but has nothing else going for it. One of the most overrated character portrayals in movie history - imo.

Richard Maurer

I'm sure nobody is reading this anymore, but I grew up in Pasadena and Altadena and lived in Altadena in a building up until almost a year ago which appears to have burned down (that area is still under mandatory evacuation so I can't go check). I now live in the San Fernando Valley, so the Palisades fire very nearly forced us to evacuate before they got it under control (parts of my neighborhood are still under evacuation orders). I also lived for years in Hollywood, and have many friends and family in all these places, many of whom had to evacuate (and some who still aren't allowed back), and some like me who simply worried with the constant fear that we'd be evacuated. I can't fully express the absolute stress it was like for about a week there, just spending all day fixated on the local news, watching the water drops, and checking the Watch Duty app for updates, and monitoring who's homes the fires were burning towards, all while knowing that the community I grew up in and have spent much of my life is just gone. And then when they seemed like things were finally being brought under control in Altadena, we began to see the flames from my home here. Probably one of the most infuriating things though, and I've seen it in this thread, is how so many people seemingly ignored the actual disaster that's going on in favor of running around looking at who is to blame. There is so much misinformation going around out there about all kinds of things, and it's all harmful. Sometimes natural disasters just happen, and this was certainly one of them. When you combine zero rain for almost a year with dry hurricane force winds, and housing structures that were built nearly a century ago without things like defensible space and flame resistant building materials in mind, major fires are just inevitable. It's no one person's fault, or even a small group of people's fault, any more than a small group of people are to blame for hurricane damage. Honestly it's sickening how many people see a disaster happening in real time and immediately think about how they can use this to further a political agenda. For the people wanting to blame "poor forest management", go look at any photos of Los Angeles and you'll see we are not in the middle of a forest. There are no forests around here. Los Angeles is a desert, surrounded by desert. To the people talking about "poor water management", please know that Los Angeles does not get its water from Northern California, where the dams up in the Cascades and preserving "smelt fish" are an issue. SoCal gets its water from the Colorado River, same as Cassie in Utah. There are water issues in the southwest, but it has to do with growing crops (many of which go to China and the Middle East), not about what happens in Northern California. In high winds in California, the power companies turn off the power because downed power lines cause fires. This lack of power combined with the incredible amount of water being poured on the fires made it so some pumps couldn't keep up with the water being drained. Normally fires are attacked from the air, but the winds were so great it wasn't safe for anything to fly. These winds also allowed embers to be carried miles away to start new fires. There is no place in the world that's equipped to handle fires in those conditions. I'm sure people made some mistakes, just as always happens in any natural disaster, but it's absurd to blame anyone other than mother nature for this. So again, if you see what's happening in LA and think "this gives me an opportunity to push my political agenda" then you really need to look in the mirror and ask what you're doing. This instinct to look at horrific events and just try to figure out how to turn it to your advantage is sickening, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Stranger2Reality

I'd rather they go back to Voyager. For me, it was the best Star Trek show after TNG and, again, I think Cassie and Carly will enjoy it.

Philip Gordon

Cassie, when do you and Carly start watching Planet of the Apes?!

Mark Vaderr

I'd add "The Last Wave," "Breaker Morant," "Starstruck," and "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert."

Byrd N. Hand

new film called Oilver twist by j.m. barrie oilver twist ... joseph mazzello artful dodger ... daniel radcilffe fagin ... billy connelly bill sykes ... robbie williams

David

Are you sure you’re not my sister from another mister, Rose🤪 Your Lawrence of Arabia description is spot on. It is perhaps one of the 2 or 3 most visually stunning movies ever made, and represents perhaps the apotheosis of film-based cinematography. That said, I know if TE Lawrence was in my friend group (especially because he’d be a magnet for all the girls), we would’ve quickly been calling him ā€œMr. Larry,ā€ but only in front of the ladies. And only because he’d be too cool to show he cared.

Above Average Dave

I concur, Doctor. Do you concur? We have a quorum!

Above Average Dave

Bela Lugosi is the definitive Dracula. Christopher Lee is #2

V M

Lol right after you wrote that she went over there and responded to some comments. I have proof.

Chris Thom

Thanks Carol. So sorry for your loss. Yes, a lot to get used to. Nice to also have some fun movies to watch with PIB! 😊

Steve Holton

So sorry Steve. My son’s house burned in 2023. It was a very traumatic experience for his entire family. Having that happen and then to see the level of destruction in every direction must be really hard to deal with. šŸ™šŸ¼

Carol Rocha

Indeed I am!

Carol Rocha

Yes, she will.

Carol Rocha

Nice šŸ™‚ Lots of Carlssons here as well 😁😁

Bjƶrn Karlsson

The Will Smith ban holds, yes.

Chris Thom

Mel Gibson cancellation and just down the memory hole for this one.

TheSingulatarian

Ah yes assless chaps. Nothing says Australia like assless chaps.

TheSingulatarian

Don't invite Will Smith to the Poppies. Guy can't control himself.

TheSingulatarian

Simon Pegg was one of the writers on that which is why it isn't a complete shit show.

TheSingulatarian

Just make sure you watch Lawrence of Arabia on a big screen. I get a little miffed when millennials and younger watch big epics on their computer. So much of the majesty is lost.

TheSingulatarian

DS9 all Star Trek has been building toward this even if the creators didn't realize it. Starts off slow and ends with a bang.

TheSingulatarian

I mean, I just said. Extreme Santa Ana winds in a dry January.

YodatheHobbit

Coming down from a cold after a long days work and I have Mick Dundee 2 with Cassie & Carly to relax to. A very good day!

Cereal And Grape Juice

Luke, glad it worked. Thanks for the gracious reply.

Clay F

Thank you for mentioning Maui and East Palestine. There has been a distinct pattern to this, and I can’t imagine the frustration, rage and hopelessness of the people directly affected. We have to take care of our own neighbors. Otherwise, who are we?

Above Average Dave

Damascus is the popcorn store on the corner?

V M

Hi Clay. I just gave this a try with TLOU and it actually worked. Thanks so much. You just saved me a whole lot of hassle and money going forward. I’ve purchased so many movies on Prime for this channel even though most were on Sky Cinema.

Luke Godfrey

@PIB- Thanks. Got it copied over.

Mike Lemon

Friendship breakups really don't get talked about enough. They're freaking ROUGH.

Chris Thom

That is a solution for syncing European 25 fps with US/Canada 24 fps. As for me streaming my content in the US (24 fps), I am typically the opposite in syncing with a European reactor (sometimes 25 fps), and thus I use the factor 0.9591 to slightly slow down their reaction stream to sync -- works every time.

Clay F

Brett, my guess is that your DVD boxset is 25 fps, which is a little faster than her stream (24 fps) of the movie. To slightly increase her stream speed to sync (which this works): 1. If streaming her reaction on a PC or laptop, right click on her reaction video and then click "inspect". 2. Then, go to the console tab in the new window that pops up and copy/paste or type in: document.querySelector('video').playbackRate = 1.0426

Clay F

Happy for Cassie and the Trekkies but it was a lot for one franchise. Thankful she didn't do full seasons tbh.

Chris Thom

Come on show us poor folks some love!

David Bockly

I think Cassie & Carly are going to enjoy Crocodile Dundee 2. Though I highly recommend rewatching the first movie beforehand (or a recap at least). It’s been a long time since the first reaction.

Luke Godfrey

Cassie, you mention you are enjoying the posts on the Patreon for Pop2Go, but do you read the comments on the You Tube channel, as I have noticed very few likes from you/Carly on there.

Louisa Moritz

Looking forward to Star Trek Beyond. Though I really don’t like what they did with the uniforms in this movie. Still hoping Cassie will watch Star Trek: Discovery (season 1-2) and then Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (prequel to The Original Series). I know it’s unlikely but one can only hope. šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

Luke Godfrey

Yeah this PAL vs NTSC malarkey is total bullshit. Having to constantly pause to stay in sync with some reactions is so frustrating. I just found the movies are available to rent or buy on the Sky Store, but they’ll be PAL too so no good. Our best bet is to watch illegal copies online. I found them on 123Movies and the link Bjorn sent is good too.

Luke Godfrey

I have the DVD boxset of both films but they don't run at the correct speed anyway. I'm longing for a digital release or Bluray for that matter, but there must be some copyright issues long outstanding.

Brett Richey

I too suspect Carly will be somewhat hiding her eyes for a number of scenes. I mean, right from the getgo it's quite the beast when it comes to visceral.

Brett Richey

I actually like Crocodile Dundee 2 better than the first one. It's probably because of the genre change. 1 is a Rom-Com with a bit of action. 2 is an action-adventure comedy.

Stephen Last

Not an actual race, but there are one man shuttles that are chasing each other. It goes on forever. It's boring. Much like Phantom Menace

Shad Kanyak

Seriously there's a pod race?

Chris Thom

Oh man that's setting your self up for high expectations in all kinds of ways. lol

Chris Thom

I predict a rough ride for Carly...she's seems much wimpier now than back in the day with Braveheart and Fury, lol.

Joe

Chris, they dont. They really dont.

V M

I'm also glad theres no more Star Trek. It shouldve ended after TNG. The TV series, not the movies.

V M

Looking on Fandango today, I noticed it is national popcorn day on the 19th. I bought some popcorn and look forward to watching the upcoming reactions on that day!

John Mulbury

Thank you Cassie. Very true - these firefighters are so underappreciated. Sometimes they don’t even get a simple thank you. I still K.I.T and treat the crew that helped saved my mom’s life and also my nephew’s fire station (which actually serves my neighborhood) every chance I can get. Definitely an inspiration to see people all coming together to help the victims. Thanks for all you do, too! God bless you Cassie.

Rose

Somebody oughta.... stop this thing.

V M

Impressive technical film-making aside, Cassie will still need to get invested in the story and characters of LoA...just like any other movie. Sometimes this "classics" label will setup unrealistic expectations. Hope you don't get disappointed Stick.

Joe

Stick Figure Studios thirds.

V M

It's a genuinely fantastic classic romcom... don't know how many views something like that will get, but you will probably love it.

djKENTO

I'm betting it's inspirational too. Why would she mention it if shes not going to tell us what it says? It's not fair to play with peoples minds

V M

The water reservoirs are not the issue. They had enough water, what they didn't have was the power to pump it up the hills to the hydrants. To pump that much water uphill at that steep of a grade takes an incredible amount of power from LARGE pumps. The airplanes dumping fire retardant and water would have normally been able to handle the situation much MUCH faster but the high winds were making it very unsafe to fly at those low altitudes and were dispersing their drops making it very hard to accurately hit their targets. The reservoir is an easy way to push blame but even if that reservoir was working they'd still need the pumps to push the water up and they just do not exist.

djKENTO

Joe, don't forget "The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee" (2020). I was pissing hard on Croc 2, but now defer to the experts on honoring Australia Day. Made sense to choose Croc 2 over the zillion of high-quality movies featuring Australia. As for Croc 3, I see no difference between Croc 2 and Croc 3. Croc 3 for Austrailia Day next year. The icing on the cake is "The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee" (2020) for Australia Day 2027.

Clay F

I’ve heard about the tents and people freezing to death. The Helene response from FEMA has been a travesty. God Bless you Dave. It’s been falling on the backs of the American people to do the right thing for the victims of these recent disasters including Maui and East Palestine. The communities have no choice but to step up - neighbors helping neighbors - and the kindness and support from strangers from around the world has been uplifting and inspiring.

Rose

the fire fighters requested 100mil more this year in their budget and instead that went to police and they lost 17 mil from their previous year's total budget. Absolutely wasted. How many more tanks does the LAPD need?

djKENTO

a good february movie you think?

Cassie

Oh wow. Thanks so much Dave. But we will be okay. There are others in much more need. If anybody is interested, the Red Cross has always been one of the most effective charities for this kind of need. And one can donate in honor of someone or in honor of an organization like Popcorn In Bed. Thanks again!

Steve Holton

I'm sorry Jackie, I've been through a friendship loss as well and it can be so hard. I hope its on the up and up from here!

Cassie

The Go Bags are especially helpful to have around when you have kids, Cassie. I know, another thing to do...like a Mom of 3 doesn't have enough. 🤣

Above Average Dave

I was talking about your family personally, Steve. Is there a go fund me for your uncle or other family members who've lost a home?

Above Average Dave

I am so sorry to hear that Eric, do you have any new leads? Hopefully one of those times where it turns out to be even better in the future! I appreciate you saying that, but of course understand you need to do whats best for you if the time comes <3

Cassie

Thanks so much Rose! Great to see that video. I really appreciate it. šŸ‘

Steve Holton

John, nice list. Also, The Dish (2000) is excellent.

Clay F

In my prayers <3

Cassie

Seconded.

bgb1975 (Brian)

I am so so sorry to hear about that :(

Cassie

Mike! I think we did figure the podcast thing out! The RSS link should be on your personal patreon page. If you copy and paste it into your podcast listening app, you should get the audio early when it releases on patreon

Cassie

Wait a minute! Clark Kent is Superman?!!! Spoiler!

bgb1975 (Brian)

Thanks so much Cassie. Yes, Pacific Palisades’ location up on a bluff really gave it a small town feel where everybody knew everybody else. And the community worked hard to preserve that. No fast-food franchise or hard liquor licenses were ever granted for fear of too much beach traffic. Though it was mentioned in the Beach Boys song ā€œSurfin USAā€, most people had not heard of it. Many mistook it for Palos Verdes when mentioned. Sadly, that is no longer true. But the outpouring of support from many is deeply appreciated. Thanks again!😊

Steve Holton

Paramount Pictures released the Crocodile Dundee trilogy on Blu-ray in the U.S. on September 21, 2021. Also, don't forget The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee (2020)

Clay F

I actually have a t-shirt that says that. 🤪

Above Average Dave

very tue!

Cassie

Thank you for this Rose, I am praying so hard for the firefighters, including your nephew. My best friends husband is a firefighter and they are so underappreciated it seems. Thank you these suggestions as well. It has been inspiring to see people, companies etc. come together and help

Cassie

What a great idea!

Cassie

Chris, is same for me in that many of my favorite movies/reactions get low (or at best medium) YT veiws.

Clay F

Steve, condolences to you and your family. I just saw a recent video from Arvin Haddad where he documented his experience with his aunty driving through the active fire zone. It was unreal. He mentioned Palisades had a small-town vibe and strong sense of community. Sunset Drive California YT channel has a beautiful video dedicated to your hometown. Heartfelt prayers & best wishes to you and the fire victims and first responders.

Rose

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??

Chris Thom

Some even call it the PERFECT series for February. But not right for October really because that's a whole other type of thing and wouldn't make any sense at all, I heard someone say that once.

Chris Thom

Steve! I am so so sorry to hear that about your aunt. Devastating about your sweet aunt, please let us know if there is anything we could do. Palisades looked like a beautiful and connected community, it is hard to imagine it mostly being gone, I am so sorry your family is going through this.

Cassie

Thanks James!

Steve Holton

Very sorry to hear this Steve. Best wishes to you and your family.

James UK

And the winner is.....no one!lol

Philip Gordon

I really feel Cassie would love Midnight Run. Classic.

Philip Gordon

People keep mentioning Croc 3, which I have tried to erase from my mind over the years along with Beverly hills cop 3! Just as bad!

Mark White

For a short show (just 7 episodes), I will again recommend "Midnight Mass". An entertaining show, and would make for a wild reaction from Mrs. Popcorn, lol.

Joe

So pumped that Carly will be with you on The Gladiator. I watch it several times a year. One of the greatest IMO

Carol Rocha

Looks like the movie was based on a fictional poem, with some Australian influence, and some ā€œlegendaryā€ cattlemen sprinkled about throughout it—Jack Riley being one of those. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Carol Rocha

Thanks Adam, but my bank account is located in the UK so using my VPN to signup to a streaming platform in another country seems like a non-starter from everything I’ve read online.

My movie jacket does not say so…but I’ll look it up

A terrible movie Chris, for me just as bad as Beverly Hills cop 3!! It’s that bad!

Mark White

Richard as you know I was campaigning like mad for Croc 2, but I will campaign just as hard for Dundee 3 NOT to be watched. It was a appalling heap of rubbish in my opinion. A total money grab which undoes the good work in the first two. In my mind it never happened!

Mark White

Yes, always lots to look forward to. Thanks Mark!

Steve Holton

Steve, so sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family have brighter days ahead. Best wishes to you and your family.

Mark White

try a VPN and you can change your location to one that may have those random titles available.

Adam Doyle

Thanks so much Kaiielle!

Steve Holton

So sorry for your loss Steve. Thinking of you and your family.

kaiielle

My hope is that the year only goes up from here for you, Jackie.

kaiielle

The Crocodile Dundee movies are nowhere in the UK right now. They were on Prime when Cassie reacted to the first movie, but now they’re gone for some reason. And what’s worse, the dvds are insanely expensive on Amazon. Why??

Luke Godfrey

AFTER, ā€œThe INTOUCHABLESā€, I am super motivated for movies that I have never heard of before. I might even watch ā€œSquid Gameā€ on my own.

Uncle Phoenix

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley; it looks like the area where we lived was not affected. My one remaining family member in CA was also not affected. I haven't lived there in decades, but I still have fond memories. Some of the places I'd visit are just gone now. My heart goes out to those who lost everything.

Stephen Dias

Thanks brother!

In my heart, I FEEL like ā€œThe Man From Snowy Riverā€ (1982) was a true story. At my desk so… ;-)

Uncle Phoenix

Ah the infamous Croc 3. The producers got caught paying a critic to say "This Croc ROCKS" so they could put it on the posters. Never saw it but apparently it didn't rock so hard.

Chris Thom

Lawrence has a funny sense of fun - but the trick is not minding that it hurts

Rose

Haha, Clay now wanting Croc 3...wasn't he just pissing hard on Croc 2, lol.

Joe

That's OK, I'm weird anyway!

Mike LL

I hope Cassie likes it for her sake...it's a long one, lol.

Joe

The AP reaction is going to be wild, lol.

Joe

We all have different tastes in movies, I'm lucky because my likes cover a broad spectrum of genres and eras. IMO Cassie has good variety on the channel. Pick-a-flick, and hopefully more targeted monthly polls will increase the variety even more.

Joe

Thanks Dan! It helps to be with family and communities like PIB!

Steve Holton

Steve, I’m so sorry for your loss. My best wishes to you and your family that you get through this tragedy together.

Just heard of that for the first time last week. Nicole Kidman's first movie!

Chris Thom

They know where the starting points occurred, the investigation is coming, why was the water levels in the reservoirs kept at low levels and even empty in one case? A friend lost her long time beautiful home in Topanga canyon,it's devastating šŸ’”

Celeste McAllister

Her Star Trek journey has been fun, and she has enjoyed it herself so much. Most likely we'll get Picard S3 some time this year, after that I'm opposed to anymore ST shows.

Joe

I do think she's generally aware of the consensus, and like she says herself, wants to make everyone happy. But it's encouraging when she bucks trends a bit and just likes what she likes (in her polite Canadian-apology ways). But popular opinion does always seem to find a way to get in. Just human nature I guess.

Chris Thom

Which will hopefully never get on a poll and probably won’t win if it does.

Richard Maurer

Thanks Joe!

Steve Holton

Steady yourself brother....there was a 3rd one, ouch!

Joe

Yeah I'm especially warry of this one. I get that the truly wealthier people could probably use emotional support, but I'd really only want to send money to those that TRULY need it. Also not keen on sending it to shady opportunists. Red Cross seems like the perennial best bet.

Chris Thom

Christopher Lee is the only Dracula :-) And as far as feeling bad about movies that tank, Cassie knows some movies probably won’t do that well and chooses to do them anyway (like B&W movies, for instance), if she’s okay with it no need to worry.

Richard Maurer

Hearts go out to those whom have lost everything and to the families that lost a loved one šŸ’” to the brave members of the LAFD/PD/CHP they are the heroes of this tragic disaster, when the dust settles there's going to be a reckoning...

Celeste McAllister

Just the basic structure of it and the front. Looks ok from a distance but terrible up close. They think the same guy lit another one forty miles away before getting caught.

Chris Thom

I don't want to cost her money or anything like that. That feels kinda shitty. I do have a general sense of what may play on the channel. Maybe I'll just suggest the bigger tent poles that I happen to like too from now on. Oh also I watched Horror of Dracula the other night and really enjoyed it. I get it now.

Chris Thom

I hear you on the cash, Chris. Part of being sort of ("Sort of," he said! "Sort of"!?! HA!) obsessive-compulsive writer-researcher is I've fallen down a LOT of rabbit holes regading personal and societal collapse (look up "Carrington Event" and then tell me you don't want to build a Faraday Cage around your home immediately—something I still can't convince my wife we should do! Or consider that a foreign enemy or malacious terror group could wipe out digital bank accounts with an EMP or very inventive hack.). As a result of that and a couple bad personal experiences, yes, cash is king! So is water and canned food. Yours fighting my inner prepper/survivalist/paranoid delusion of the day every day 🤣, Dave

Above Average Dave

I watched this movie again recently, having not watched it since I was a kid. Once it ended, I thought wow, I dont think Ive ever seen a better film.

Hat

I love Gladiator and Star Trek. I find it very strange that people feel the need to complain about things others enjoy. It's 1 movie a month out of 12.

Hat

Chris - just means you have different tastes than most people here, which isn’t a bad thing. If I picked the movies for this channel the views would be in the toilet, because my tastes are different than the mainstream.

Richard Maurer

I carry a lot of cash out of habit because I kind of have a weird distrust/fear of banks. My mom is the opposite. She's always like "You are so unbelievably stupid for carrying that much cash on you." Don't think she's totally wrong. There are times at a convenience store and some random stranger will look at me and say "Hmmmm....look at all that cash. Wish I had some of that..." And I feel naked and nervous and that's when I see her point.

Chris Thom

Some of my favorite reactions on the channel don't get that many views at all. Like Hill House. Or Holdovers. Not sure what to think of that.

Chris Thom

There are hardly any reactions to CT and I don't understand why. It's one of many films that no one reacts to, yet are superior to half the films that get watched by every channel.

Bill W

I agree. He looks a lot like Christopher Reeve, and he seemed to capture a lot of Reeve's quality in his portrayal.

Bill W

I enjoyed BMX Bandits more than Crocodile Dundee.

Bill W

Aha!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bjƶrn Karlsson

There are so many far better movies and shows she could have been watching instead with all the time she's devoted to Star Wars. Cassie is a great reactor, but it looks like she's found her niche in mostly decades old movies and cheesy romance, which isn't for me at all. I only come back occasionally for that reason (like when she did Hill House).

Jeff I.

Sorry I only read the first three words of your post.

Richard Maurer

Sorry for your loss and everything you’re going through.

Richard Maurer

Star Trek Beyond the Phantom Menace. Another 4 hour long pod race.

Shad Kanyak

You’re weird! Anything else I can do for you? ;-)

Richard Maurer

Sorry to hear you had to learn that the hard way, Rose. I can't figure out if that's an American thing or a human thing, but the older I get the more I think it's the latter. Good to hear about your Aunt and her husband. I've been out to the mountains a few times since Helene to try to help. It's alternately an exercise in hope and frustration. People have rallied to donate all kinds of stuff, but, at least from my experience, the frustration with FEMA has been very real. Not that people aren't trying but it so slooooooooow moving. The exact opposite of what disaster relief should be. The temps out there at night can get to below 0° F, and yet there are still people living in tents. And rebuilding will be very hard because many of the towns originally permitted structures in flood zones when they knew better. Now, people won't be allowed to rebuild on their own land. It's a mess. God bless your Aunt and her husband and all who are out there. LIke the people in L.A. (where I have several friends, some affected), it's just hard to see and will be a struggle for so many of them for years.

Above Average Dave

Thanks Cassie and everyone for all you have done to help those in need. I grew up in Pacific Palisades and it is heartbreaking to see it so destroyed. The homes I lived in, the schools and church I attended are gone. šŸ˜” The worst of it was my aunt had a massive stroke and passed away during her panicked evacuation. So, my uncle is staying with us until it is safe to return to the Palisades. So great to be able to enjoy Popcorn In Bed and its amazing community at times like these. My uncle really enjoyed ā€œThe Intouchablesā€ reaction. Such a nice relief from thinking about everything that happened. Looking forward to the fun Crocodile Dundee 2 (But not the bush fire scene), going Beyond, and we will be entertained! āš”ļø Thanks again for everything everyone has done for those affected. ā€œWhat we do in life echoes an eternity!ā€ 😊

Steve Holton

It doesn't take long. I just have a couple pair of my least favorite jeans and shirts I rarely wear in a waterproof bag. We used to keep them close to the door in a cupboard, but I just threw mine in the back of the truck with a tie-down. Putting everything in ziplock-type bags inside the travel bag means you don't have to change out the stuff as often. As they used to tell us in Boy Scouts, "You can't wear it (eat it/spend it, etc) if you don't have it with you." That Eagle Scout stuff gets encoded into your DNA, along with how to build a box fire and tying a bowline 🤣

Above Average Dave

I should really get all that stuff in one place. and an emergency bag of clothes and toiletries.

bknsty14

Was just coming here to say basically that. I’m not a Star Trek fan and can’t wait for the Star Trek’s to be over. That being said I am also excited for Gladiator.

bknsty14

I enjoyed ST but enough is enough. Could have waited on the new movies too, so I guess enough is more than enough.

Richard Maurer

Okay Bjorn, AC/DC is the truest representation of Australian music culture. I was talking movie culture ;-)

Richard Maurer

Lol .. same - I keep a coupIe hundred on hand. I learned my lesson the hard way when my mom went into severe hypo and blacked out. The fire department came and was asking about her medical history and her prescriptions. I looked at the fireman with a panicked stare and told him I don’t know! Lucky my dad was there to handle those questions bc I was useless. How are things in NC, Dave? My aunt and her husband are doing okay for now. We haven’t forgotten about the Helene victims….

Rose

ONLY THE BRAVE is truly a must-see. Another film involvong every type of first responder, but especially volunteers, is THIRTEEN LIVES directed by Ron Howard. Truly edge-of-your-seat viewing and a true story.

Above Average Dave

I pretty much only judge if I wamt to see a movie from the trailers. Even if I hear others talking about the movie and they didn't like it. If I thought I would based off the trailer then I'd still go see it. I'm not someone that judges the plot or cgi or anything. I just go for the enjoyment and most of the time I like the movie enough that I'm not disappointed....does not mean I thought it was great or anything but at least worth the watch, even if I never watch it again. I'm a big fan of older movies too. I often wish more were like movies from the 40's-60's

Joel Wayne

Rose! Now I have a smile that will last all day! Your mom is wise. I got the "enough cash" lecture, too. Enough is always relative to each person. And the other stuff you list is vital. It's all a pain to gather, but to have it all in one place where you can get it quickly is never bad policy. Some disasters—hurricanes, blizzards, etc.—are slow moving and so there's a bit of time to gather stuff up. Others—tornadoes, earthquakes—are lightning fast, but if one (or even two) live in a high risk zone, it's probably best to have these things close by.

Above Average Dave

That’s awful! I’m so sorry. Was it saved?

Rose

- "The Lighthorsemen" (1987) *True Story* about the Australian Light Horse Regiment at the Battle of Beer Sheeba in 1918 (WW1), with a true story romance to satisfy both Cassie and Carly's need to 'ship. - "Quigley Down Under" (1990) w/ Alan Rickman - "The Bounty" (1984) w/ Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, & Lawrence Olivier - "The Desert Rats" (1953) - "The Fighting Rats of Tobruk" aka "The Rats of Tobruk" (1944) both about ANZAC's at Tobruk (WW2)

JAKH

Excited for Carly’s reaction to Gladiator. And no more Star Trek. 😃

Alex Gorell

Ugh that sucks. I'm up in North Cal and someone intentionally set our historic mansion on fire a couple days before Christmas. Have been curious if any of this began with arson.

Chris Thom

How about this one????? šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰ https://m.imdb.com/title/tt28317622/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Bjƶrn Karlsson

Oh that's right. I vaguely remember those. Thank you Jakh and Rose (ha ha...was literally just watching a Titanic reaction). Peter Berg really made the shift to true life stories lately. I remember him from back when he did that Wes Craven flick.

Chris Thom

My mom always said to have enough cash money no matter what - financial/medical documents and prescriptions including pet records are so important. Very tedious to gather but crucial.

Rose

The good thing about Crocodile Dundee 2 is that hopefully we’ll never have to hear about >bleepin’< Crocodile Dundee again.

Richard Maurer

@ChrisThom The one about the bombing is "Patriots Day" (2016). Both "Patriots Day" and "Deepwater Horizon" star Mark Wahlberg and were directed by Peter Berg, who also directed "Lone Survivor" (2013) with Mark Wahlberg.

JAKH

Best wishes to your cousin and the rest of the first responders šŸ™

Dan M

It’s from the movie, but yes it does sound very Gene Roddenberry.

Anthony Carlson

Mad Max. Gallipoli is good too.

Richard Maurer

Mad Max is the truest representation of Australian culture ;-)

Richard Maurer

Don’t we all judge movies based on other people’s opinions? Other than trailers (which are basically someone’s opinion) what else do we have? I mean how many people ever watch movies with zero knowledge of what the movie is about? It true that people tend to oversell how good movies are, or how bad they are, so I do wish people would dial it back a couple of notches.

Richard Maurer

ā€œDo one thing for one person you wish you could do for everyoneā€. I love that mantra. The parents of one of the office administrators for the company I work for lost their home in a fire a few weeks ago. I’ve been donating to their Go Fund Me page with every paycheck I’ve gotten since. Im sure we’d all love to do so much more than we can to help out with the devastation in California, but if you can make a difference for just one person who desperately needs help, it can turn tragedy into triumph. I’ll be looking into the links that you provided this weekend. Thank you, Cassie!

Dan M

Thanks for this, Cassie! What to grab in an emergency is always a series of tough choices. One thing that can add a little security is to have a "go bag" for each person in the house. Nothing dramatic here, just enough clothes—esp socks and underwear—toiletries and a few other odds and ends to get each of you through 48-72 hours. I throw a few protein bars and a couple bottled waters and a couple hundred bucks in ziplocs, too, and a rain poncho and keep it all in my truck. Small bag for each of us that we change out every couple months so it doesn't get musty inside. Never hurts.

Above Average Dave

I know what her mom wrote - ā€œIn the future there will be things called ā€œreaction channelsā€ on something called ā€œYouTubeā€, you really should think about getting into thatā€ - there you need to wonder no longer.

Richard Maurer

She would love The Dish (2000) with its Apollo 11 tie-in

Neighbourhood Watch Alliance

Only the Brave is about the Granite Mountain Hotshots - an elite crew of firefighters from Prescott, Arizona - and what happened to them during the Yarnell Hill Fire in June 2013

Rose

Any opinion on Wake in Fright?

Chris Thom

That's the one about the Boston Marathon bombing?

Chris Thom

Definitely been waiting patiently for Cassie to react to ā€œThe Philadelphia Story.ā€ Favorite Grant/Hepburn film.

Rose

Maybe some things are to personal to share V. But, yeah it would be Interesting to know what it said. I imagine something very inspirational, loving and kind if Cassie’s mum is anything like Cassie.

Mark White

Great recs…I especially love Man from Snowy River/Strictly Ballroom/Muriel’s Wedding/Gallipoli. I have to always add ā€œPhar Lapā€ (1983) - NZ born legendary Australian racehorse. That’s such gem of a film.

Rose

Jackie, PiB is great for taking your mind of your problems. Either watching Cassie and Carly and their wonderful reactions or just coming on the comment sections to read and join in on the latest movie choices. Just when life seams really crap, there can be something really good just around the corner, I hope that will be the case for you.

Mark White

I’m with you there Eric. PiB is great to turn to when life seams tough! I hope things improve for you soon.

Mark White

That’s just awful. I can’t begin to imagine. Glad no one was hurt. ā¤ļø

According to Cal Fire, 95% of the past wildfires in CA are man-made (whether intentional/accidental/negligence).

Rose

Ok so you're an OG fan too. That checks out.

Chris Thom

God bless him. That's awesome. Hope he's alright.

Chris Thom

That sounded very Gene Roddenberry to me. Not that I know a ton about Trek.

Chris Thom

As an Australian, I can tell you there are far better choices to watch for Australia Day. Picnic at Hanging Rock, Mad Max, Gallipoli, Man from Snowy River, Animal Kingdom, Muriels Wedding, Strickly Ballroom and The Castle.

John Cranberry

It's good to stay informed but also necessary to tune some of it out. Especially when it becomes 'disaster porn'.

Chris Thom

Lawrence of Arabia will be a big one for me to Stick. I’m ashamed to say as a film fanatic, I’ve never seen it!! So it’s about time!

Mark White

Great lineup once again, i'd say i've seen Croc 2 a dozen or so times now such an easy film to dip into whenever it's on tv. Next week will be interesting with 3 very different films winning the polls.

Gray

They sure do Chris! And this is more than just another reaction for me. I must of watched the tube edit of croc 1, I don’t know how many times! It’s been my go to video to stop my brain being stupid (anxiety) it’s works every time. So to have another will be awesome! šŸ˜€

Mark White

Another true story that’s been on Cassie’s radar is: ā€œOnly the Braveā€ (2017). It’s a must- see.

Rose

Cassie might want to watch a movie in honor of fire fighters and first responders. Since she has already seen Backdraft, I would suggest one of these: "Deepwater Horizon" (2016) *True Story* "The Towering Inferno" (1974) "The Hellfighters" (1968) "Volcano" (1997) These are more actiony and a less plausible depiction but still focus on the responders: "Daylight" (1996) "San Andreas" (2015)

JAKH

Bittersweet that Star Trek is coming to an end, unless she plans to watch DS9/Voyager/Enterprise as well in which case there is still a lot to be excited for. Also there is still a 4th movie still floating around, i know with the passing of Anton has definitely put it on indefinite hold, Simon Pegg has mentioned a few times when asked that they all still want to do it.

Jasbro

I like the story better than the last one for sure, and I think it has a lot of fast paced action.

Mike LL

That really shouldn't count as a spoiler. Lol. There's gotta be some limits on Spoiler Law.

Chris Thom

Btw I’m very excited for your Lawrence of Arabia reaction. It’s my favorite film ever, which is based on the life of British WW1 officer T.E. Lawrence. LoA has influenced and inspired a generation of directors (Kubrick, Lucas, Spielberg, Sorceses, Jackson - LoA is in his Top 6 WW1 movies - Nolan, etc.). You have the advantage of watching it on the big screen. I last saw this film at the Aero Theater in 70mm (while not all 70mm screenings are equal this one had an exclusive print that’s blemish free) so the film was so crisp and rich with color that it absolutely blew me away. PS - Highly recommend that you watch it again at a 70mm showing - I suggests the American Cinematheque locations (Aero or Egyptian) because their exclusive print is perfect and with the sound - just the way David Lean intended his masterpiece to be fully appreciated and experienced.

Rose

Apparently, if you need to flee a potential fire and cannot take everything, putting your valuables in the fridge is the best spot to preserve them

Neighbourhood Watch Alliance

I’m not in the affected areas but my local firefighters were some of the initial responders. I also know firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority (my nephew is one of them) who just finished a 48-hr shift but drove up to assist LAFD who were stretched with no air support due to the hurricane-force winds on Tuesday & Wednesday. Many of these first responders have lost their own homes but still fighting the ongoing Palisades and Eaton fires. Keeping the first responders and affected communities in my thoughts and prayers. Chef Andrew Gruel has been among the many to immediately help fire victims and first responders with free meals. He’s also received donations (basic essentials such as baby formula, clothes, shoes, pet food, etc) that have been dropped off to his restaurant (Calico Fish House) in Huntington Beach where volunteers are helping to deliver meals and items to the Dream Center in L.A. He also raised funds towards relief efforts and let fire victims use his parking lot as temporary shelter and got free meals on him. Donations for the animals such as Best Friends Animal Society & Wings of Rescue are helping to relocate adoptable animals from the affected shelters. Many of them were already flown to Seattle and Dallas and shelters and animal sanctuaries from across the nation are reaching out to help these two amazing organizations.

Rose

Can't remember if I've seen this or not. Is it much different from the last two?

Chris Thom

Call me weird but I like Beyond the best of the three "new" Star Trek movies!

Mike LL

Personally I justify the cost by admitting I'd otherwise be spending the money on junk food I don't need.

Chris Thom

Dreams DO come true, Clarence. And Mark. I mention Clarence first only because he was on the Croc Dun 2 Scene before it was cool.

For Australia Day next year, I vote for Crocodile Dundee III (in Los Angeles) (2001) or The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee (2020). Also fun little movies.

Clay F

Yes, they will LOVE Croc 2. Great comedy. Great romance. Great action. 10/10. Cassie will enjoy it more than any of the three Chris Pine ST (Kelvin) movies.

Clay F

I love this "do one thing for one person you wish you could do for everyone" . Also on some days that one person would be oneself and that is also okay. Much love and positive intentions to everyone today.

Pedro

"You sneaky little guys trying to tie those up!" Don't look at me, those kinds of games drive me nutty. I picked my three losers and stuck with them. "Crocodile Dundee II" Good, I've been waiting for that one. It's no "great cinema" but it is a fun little movie. If you want more of the Mick Dundee actor, check out Almost an Angel (1990), and if you want more Australian "history" check out Young Einstein (1988) and find out how Albert finally put bubbles into beer.

Mike Lemon

Crocodile Dundee II- hooray!

Eric Parpart

"I would grab-ink prints ..., letter ..., grandma's recipes, my kids comfort animals and blankets." Planning ahead is good, but instead of planning what papers you want, plan to buy a fire-proof safe. "as we watch the devastating fires unfold. It is breaking my heart..." Then don't watch it. Be aware then move on with your day. Watch a movie, read a book, get the Patreon podcast thing straightened out, whatever. It is the curse of the internet (and CNN) that all the news of the world is shoved in our faces. Family and community is where our main focus should be. A heavy focus on the nation or the world is too much and you will drive yourself insane. And before anyone writes an angry reply, read what I actually wrote again, not what you think I wrote. "it feels overwhelming..." Then remove yourself from the situation. For the charity thing, the old standbys are usually a good way to go. "Is there anyone here in our kernel community that have been affected?" The real question. Like I said previously, community not nation.

Mike Lemon

With Popcorn from Damascus!

Rick Rodriguez

Hopes and prayers to him and his team.

Rick Rodriguez

Don't knowing if someone else in the comments already stated, but looks like Project Hope got renamed. Projecthope.org takes you right to contributions for the LA fires.

Rick Rodriguez

I haven't been affected by the fires, but I did see a fire warning of high winds possibly downing power lines on an orange lighted road sign sunday night while delivering food in Poway. And I JUST NOW while in the middle of typing this checked the local news and found that a brush fire broke out in Mission Valley near the I-15, about 10 or so miles from where I live here in San Diego. Looks like luckily the firefighters got it out quick. My mom also mentioned that a brief gust of wind happened today around noon, but nothing since. Usually I don't ever consider winds a threat, other maybe knocking down some high things on the garden shelf on the balcony, but I think I'll start a mental inventory of things I'll absolutely grab in case any fire were to happen to start up near me. Hopefully by the time I've narrowed it down in my mind, any more possibilities of high winds in Southern California will be over.

YodatheHobbit

The 90s political thriller was such a big deal, but it feels like a world away. High quality Cassie-tailored project.

The two of you are really going to enjoy Crocodile Dundee II. It's actually a little more action-packed than the first one, but I going to leave it at that since I don't want to give you any spoilers.

Donald Fleming

Captain James T. Kirk: ā€œCaptain's Log, Stardate 2263.2. Today is our 966th day in deep space, a little under three years into our five-year mission. The more time we spend out here, the harder it is to tell where one day ends and the next one begins. It can be a challenge to feel grounded when even the gravity is artificial. But, well, we do what we can to make it feel like home. The crew, as always, continues to act admirably despite the rigors of our extended stay here in outer space. And the personal sacrifices they have made. We continue to search for new lifeforms in order to establish firm diplomatic ties. Our extended time in uncharted territory has stretched the ship's mechanical capacities. But fortunately our engineering department, led by Mr. Scott, is more than up to the job. The ship aside, prolong cohabitation has definitely had effects on interpersonal dynamics. Some experiences for the better, and some for the worse. As for me, things have started to feel a little... episodic. The farther out we go, the more I find myself wondering what it is we're trying to accomplish. But if the universe is truly endless, then are we not striving for something forever out of reach? The Enterprise is scheduled for reprovisioning stop at Yorktown, the Federation's newest and most advanced starbase. Perhaps a break from routine will offer up some respite from the mysteries of the unknown.ā€ Star Trek Beyond

Anthony Carlson

I am always of the opinion that you, Cassie, should never judge a single movie you watch based on anyone's comments on youtube or patreon. Just enjoy movies for what they are and judge for yourself. Hope you are feeling better these days, health wise. Looking forward to all the upcoming reactions even though there's one I've never even heard of before.

Joel Wayne

My cousin Jake is an LA County firefighter. Please keep him and all of the other first responders in your prayers, as well as those who have lost belongings and even loved ones! 😢

Phil Stubblefield

Looking forward to Gladiator and ST. I will likely skip Croc 2. I recommend the Carly/Cassie newest podcast episode to everyone. I am sad for the people suffering in the California fires.

Clay F

I adore Star Trek Beyond. Sofia Boutella is great in everything she’s in and Simon Pegg really rocked the script.

djKENTO

Wow. Not one but TWO reactions with Carly next week. This should be fun. You'll both love CROCODILE DUNDEE 2 and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy STAR TREK BEYOND. It's not as good as the first Kelvin movie, but it's better than INTO DARKNESS imo. I know that next week you plan to watch the 3 poll winners which includes LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Since it is one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) epics ever made by one of the greatest epic filmmakers of all time David Lean (who also did BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI), I'd like to get a jump on requesting-- nay, begging you to please, PLEASE watch it in your theater space. The big screen is the only way to experience that film.

I’ve been going through shit. Just since this year started I had to cut someone out of my life I considered a friend for ten years. Then the company I work for just shut down our branch on such a short notice, then the other day random people antagonized me in public for no reason. Also I’ve got family in LA but thankfully they didn’t get hit. I’m Going through a hurt that I don’t think I’ve felt before, I’ve made some pretty irrational decisions the last few days as such. Long story short, I look forward to Cassie’s wholesome videos to take my mind off it all.

Jackie McDonalds

Well dang, now I want to know what the letter Cassie's mom wrote to her said. A lot of people will be happy with Croc 2

I see you loving Gladiator. Crocodile Dundee 2 is not as good as the first, but not terrible. Still hoping for a really old classic poll every 2 or 3 months. Something where an old movie is guaranteed to win. Just rewatched "The Philadelphia Story" starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. Great movie.
