I like "The Expanse" (6 seasons) (2015-2022) -- an excellent sci-fi series.

Clay F

Oh wow, you all hanging in the nemsis youtube edit comments making future trek plans without me. Now i know how picard felt when ro joined the marquee 😭

rakesh

PS -Why use a fake profile picture? You don't have to use an actual one of yourself but why use a fake one? It gives people the impression you're fake/scammer.

Mark Schamber

This was so cute..

John Sullivan

Ok. On rewatching this - it was a good enough movie.

John Sullivan

I'm thinking Cassie will do Picard S3 sometimes next year, but could be patreon only. Would it get reasonable views on YT, who knows.

Joe

For now. I can accept nothing more final than that.

Clarence Newman

She said she is excited to get to the Chris Pine Trek movies. After those, then Cassie's trek journey is apparently over.

Clay F

V M

Hanna, that's awesome you came up with that list of DS9 episodes. (Cassie reacted to about 43 episodes of TNG?) How to build a consensus might be an issue. Plus, I think more likely than not that Trek ends on the channel after the Chris Pine movies. Yet, if at some point in the future, Cassie decides to continue Trek, would be nice to not have that big gaping hole of skipping DS9.

Clay F

I'm for Cassie's trek journey ending after TNG. Cassie missed this little gem from Phantasms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ajCH6EmCYk

V M

Yes, finally someone who gets it :P 2 isnt enough.

V M

Oh all these nooks and crannies confuse me!

Ronald Carpenter

Cloning approved.

Clarence Newman

The wedding thing down in the "ANNOUNCING: PIB PICK-A-FLICK" post? It's still there.

Mike Lemon

As I wrote last summer, I believe all genuine love is meant to be seen and encouraged and cherished and most of all celebrated. But I see my wedding post from 2 hours ago has been removed. Either it was the wrong place to post or I'm totally wrong about what interests you. Either way my apologies (I won't post again).

Ronald Carpenter

It’s far less likely to alienate her patrons if she takes a lengthy break, and maybe revisits the idea in 2026

Cole Jennett

Cassie isn't going to watch more Trek series if it alienates a large % of her patrons. She needs to poll all paying patrons and see what the vote is, yea or nay.

Joe

I really think Cassie should poll all her paying patrons to see what % supports more Trek shows on the channel. Also, I believe other Trek series would garner much lower view counts on YT. Cassie wants reasonable interest from her YT viewers.

Joe

All this 2nd channel talk to watch Star Trek would require a second Cassie😂

Cole Jennett

Clarence I think you’ve taken a really good shot at trying to keep everyone happy. But, I still feel there would be complaints from both sides! Not enough or too much! As for some people’s suggestion of a second channel, we don’t know Cassie’s schedule, but we can guess from what she has said already, it’s bonkers busy! And now with Popcorn to go, it seams unlikely she could squeeze anymore in. So, I don’t have a solution which in the short term (next 3years or so) could be any better than your plan. I do agree there is so much time, no need to hurry! So, with that in mind, how about 1 season a year for the next 20 years! That should get in all the episodes!! 😆 After all I hope Cassie and Popcorn in bed is still going then! Because I’ll still be watching.

Mark White

Agreed, Clay. It wouldn't hurt to cut Enterprise loose. Hannah. Great shot at an episode list, but I'm not sure we could get around having polls to select them.

Clarence Newman

Cassie, once again you have improved the watch of a movie, from which I previously found to be just ok. Ok, so I don’t hate Nemesis, I think it’s just ok, but it does have a few problems, as well as some good points. Good points: Special effects were top notch. The Score was excellent, but you know you are in safe hands with Jerry Goldsmith Action sequences were very good. Tom hardy, gave a really solid performance as Picards clone and is a highlight of the movie for me. BUT Not so good points! It is well known roughly 30 minutes have been edited out of this movie, some of which are very good scenes and for me, does damage the movie. Unfortunately the studio really interfered with this movie, wanting a shorter run time, so they could get more sales at the cinemas. (Which backfired on them!) The Movie is at times disjointed with some scenes feeling like they have been shoehorned in, serving little purpose in relation to the plot. Scenes like Shinzon’s telepathic attack on Troi, which was unnecessary. Outside of Picard and data, the rest of the cast have very little dialogue. Yes, Troi and Riker get a wedding, but Worf, Beverley and Jordi get nothing to work with and I feel they were largely ignored in this one. I just feel with the massive edits to the movie, poor character development, it leads to an unsatisfactory send off for the TNG crew when compared to the OG crew, which all had great moments in undiscovered country. Also the Director has come under some flack from many Trekkies as he apparently knew nothing of Star Trek before making this movie and had never watched a TNG episode. But I feel, he did the best he could, what with budgetary constraints and constant interference from the studio. I feel this had the potentially to be so much more, but due to studio interference it failed to deliver. Once this movie failed at the box office, there was never any chance of a Fifth movie and the studio went with a re boot of the OG characters instead. But Cassie, all is put right in Picard Season 3!!! 😃

Mark White

I watched this in the theater. Couldn’t believe the killed off data. But considering he is virtually immortal compared to the other characters. Guess there’s a certain logic in making him the one to die.

Jim K

Hannah

Good comments. As you may have guessed, I don't view Enterprise as "true Trek collection." I think could be better to give SNW a try instead of reacting to Enterprise.

Clay F

Agree. S3 is best and can be reacted to as a standalone. S1 and S2 not needed. IMDb average ratings by users: --Picard S1 (2020) = 7.6 --Picard S2 (2022) = 6.6 --Picard S3 (2023) = 8.8 An option is to throw in a few select episodes of S1 along with all 10 episodes of S3.

Clay F

They couldn't really mention Lore in the film, Shaz. It would've drawn attention to the fact that they pretty much did the same storyline in the tv series. Of course, they totally got away with it!

Clarence Newman

You really don't need to see Picard Season 1 or 2 in order to enjoy Season 3. (3 is the best season to watch)

McShades

To break my mail below into slots: 1) The Pine Treks are 3 slots. 2) Picard is 3 seasons of 10 episodes. The last season really requires all 10 episodes, but the first two can be cherry-picked (4 episodes each). Therefore, 3 slots for S3 (she could do 3 episodes per slot instead of 2, 4 for the last one), two each for 1 & 2, a total of 7 slots. 8 at most if she needs to break the last 4 into 2. 3) Original Series. 4 to 8 episodes, 2 or 4 slots. 4) TNG. 4 episodes from S1 & 2 (combined), 4 every season from 3 to 6, then 2 from S7. Total of 11 slots. 5) DS9. 4 episodes for each season, plus cliffhangers - total of 21 slots. 6) Voyager. 4 episodes from each season, plus cliffhangers - total of 21 slots. 7) Enterprise. 4 to 8 episodes total, 2 to 4 slots. Discounting the Pine Treks (which are already on the schedule), that's a minimum of 64 slots, maximum of 69. Big numbers, but endlessly dilutable to taste. At the rate of 2 slots a month, she'll be done in three years.

Clarence Newman

Nonsense. Voyager and DS9 have basically overlap. And the opening roll gives you enough background on the Maquis to get the general idea.

ShazD

You and others *need* to stop starting posts with "you need". It's highly obnoxious. I'm not sure how you don't realise that.

ShazD

Love how Cassie was questioning if it was Lore. She knows a lot more about Trek than the director or producers clearly since Lore isn't even mentioned as a possibility in the script which is just madness. And you even noticed the continuity error whereby Picard actually had hair back then! A true Trekkie!! 😁

ShazD

I'm going to apologise in advance for the length of this post, guys, because there's no way of saying it in a couple of paragraphs. Feel free to skip if you're not up for a Star Trek filibuster, but if the question of future Trek on this channel interests you, then saddle up because I'm about to engage thrusters. We've had a lot of verbal punch-ups on here about what Cassie should watch next, if she should watch anything after the Pines, how much, what seasons, so on and so on, and it always strikes me that one thing is constantly overlooked. Namely the fact that she has all the time in the world to do it. She doesn't have to do it all now or next year or in any kind of hurry. Diversity on the channel does not have to suffer! So here's my suggestion, which I recommend for two reasons. 1) Cassie clearly loves the Star Trek universe and would be happy to watch a lot more. Therefore we're not forcing her to do something against her will. And 2) She has a lot of patrons who have enjoyed the journey so far and really don't want it to end. In deference to those who think there's been too much Star Trek content on the channel already, I'll say it again - she has YEARS to continue and complete her journey and there is no reason whatsoever for her to rush. 1 or 2 Treks a month with some months skipped altogether would be a way to satisfy everyone. That way, we can all chill knowing that more Trek is coming, but not too much and not too often. Once we've removed the urgency, it's then about laying out the schedule, the idea being that she sweeps up everything worth watching. To that end, here's my suggested schedule: 1) The Pine films. She was always going to watch them so let's just enjoy her enjoyment. 2) A long break. I think even us Trek fans agree that that's an absolute given. I'm talking 6 months to a year. 3) When she comes back, Cassie should have a choice. Does she want to finish the TNG journey - in which case she should watch Picard first - or go back to the beginning and leave Picard as the final payoff? I'm going to assume she'll want to watch Picard first, so that would be her first watch after the break. 4) Back to The Original Series. I don't think there are a lot of really good episodes she needs to watch, but we could at least fill two slots (therefore 8 episodes). That would give her a nicely rounded experience of the original crew in their tv prime. 5) Back to the TNG series. Again, bear in mind she has all the time in the world, but I think she could easily do the same thing she's already done with TNG a second time. It would be a doddle to find her 4 more GREAT episodes per season (though we might struggle in 1, 2 & 7) and she would love every minute of it. 6) Deep Space 9. I know, I know, I know - the general consensus is that DS9 can't be watched piecemeal, but I've said it before and I'll say it again - YES IT CAN! I understand why people want Cassie to enjoy the full story arc (particularly the Dominion war), but that isn't going to happen. It's very unlikely she has the time to do it on her own (if that's not true, Cassie, be my guest), and there's no way she's watching 173 episodes on the channel. That being the case, what she needs is the biggest and best episodes, accompanied by cliff notes of the episodes she's missing. Sure, WE wouldn't want to watch it that way, but I strongly believe it's the ONLY way Cassie is ever going to experience what is a truly great show. I'd be happy to do the cliff notes for her - a single mail that would seamlessly bridge the gap between this episode she's watching and the next one we've chosen for her. Trust me, guys, it would work! 7) Voyager. This one's easy, because she could watch it exactly the same way she watched TNG - four to six episodes per season, plus the cliffhangers. Voyager is not quite as good as TNG and DS9 if taken as a whole, but with selected episodes, it's really strong entertainment and the last great example of what I call true Trek. Cassie will love it. 8) Enterprise. I think most of us agree that this was a significant step down from the level we'd come to expect, and only lasted 4 seasons as a result. It is the final series of the true Trek collection though, so surely we could find 4 to 8 episodes Cassie can watch just to get a feel for it. Anything beyond that would be unnecessary. That would be it from me. I'm a traditionalist so I wouldn't give the time of day to the new stuff. I've tried to watch some of it, but it's too.....21st Century, if that makes sense. I realise it's got its fans, and I respect their opinions, but I honestly don't care about those shows. Sorry again for the long post, guys, but this is such a hot topic on here and this is my shot at a compromise. Allowing for the fact that there's no time limit to completing it (so it doesn't need to take over the channel), I really think this would be a workable solution.

Clarence Newman

Tom Hardy sure has a thing for growing up in some deep hole in the ground 😂

Stranger2Reality

Why was that whole bit (from "Holy crap" to "hu-hu-hu-what?") the epitome of the little gems Cassie gives us as a reactor? It just makes me smile so much.

Clarence Newman

Enterprise was canceled at the worst possible time. By Season 4, it had finally found its footing, becoming the show it should have been from the start: the story of how the Federation came to be.

Gábor Árki

As a 2nd channel for Trek is unlikely, a question is would you rather: (1) she react to a Trek series in abbreviated fashion (as w/TNG); or (2) Trek ends on the channel? I prefer (1) but (2) is reasonable and maybe more likely. For option (1), I would choose VOYAGER because not feasible to react to DS9 in an abbreviated fashion as she did with TNG. Yet, many are mentioning PICARD series, which is good -- I suggest: [A] S1 + S3 = 20 episodes; or [B] say 4 episodes from S1 and all 10 episodes of S3 = 14 episodes; or [C] S3 only = 10 episodes.

Clay F

Well, make her an offer lol. I'm sure there are some Patreon accounts out there who will do cameo-like reactions, responding to individual requests that pay a certain amount of money. But of course, that doesn't sound like something Cassie would do, I think she likes the community.

Ben Schwartz

I want Cassie to start a second channel where she only watches content of my choosing :P

V M

Oh goody, now it’s time for Star Trek CGI aka the Kelvin Timeline aka the Chris Pine movies aka second tier imitations (fourth or fifth tier in the case of Simon “Benji” Pegg as Scotty) of the Star Trek TOS cast/characters.

Just Plain Bob

I'm a huge star trek fan. But I also know that there are people that aren't. I agree with that second Channel idea for those that are fans. I would also like to see Cassie experience star trek like it is supposed to be seen. Not skipping episodes.

Vlad D

I would be happy if she first took a break after the Kelvin films and then reacted to: --Voyager (35 episodes); and --Picard S3 (all 10 episodes). That could be the end of Trek on the channel if she so chooses. By the way, I don't see her watching DS9 on her own.

Clay F

This flopping at the box office along with Enterprise being cancelled made me wonder if Star Trek was simply dead. It did go away for a while, until JJ Abrams revived it. Then it died again until Paramount+ came along, and now there's more Star Trek shows than ever before.

Stranger2Reality

I totally agree with this. All the TNG she watched already was pretty ridiculous for those of us who aren't Trekkies who watched the shows. There is so much Trek out there with all of the shows that it would threaten to overwhelm this channel if she decided to watch more here. I think either she should just commit to watching all the shows on her own or possibly start a second channel that's just for all the Trek she wants to watch. There are 341 episodes just between DS9 and Voyager alone, and there are another seven shows beyond those two (and more to come). I know all the Trek fans want her to watch all the Trek but I have to imagine there's a lot of viewers of her channel who have no interest in her being subsumed with Trek content for years to come.

Stranger2Reality

Hi Cassie. I think you should watch DS9. But I think you should watch it on your own time. DS9 isn't a series that you can skip episodes. I don't think it would be fair to some of the members that aren't star trek fans, for you to do a reaction to all the episodes. You can watch Voyager and skip episodes. That would be fine

Vlad D

I think she should skip DS9 and go back to the TNG episodes she missed. Namely: Rascals, Phantasms, Thine Own Self, The Game. Frame of Mind, Hero Worship, and Disaster. C'mon Cassie, these episodes are awesome.

V M

Cassie! I think carly should watch star trek 2009 with you. One of the reasons they made the movie was to attract new fans to the franchise without them feeling that need to watch hundreds of hours of film and TV. I think this would be a great place to include Carly.

ExploreWinnipeg

Certainly wouldn't hurt to go back to TNG and catch some Ro Laren centric eps

Joe

You can watch Voyager without watching DS9 but she needs to watch Voyager before Picard because of the significance of Seven Of Nine

Blue Collar Hero

You need to Watch DS9 (Starting at the End of Season 2) and then Voyager (Starting at the end of Season 3). Then Do Star Trek Picard

Jonathan Morerod

Tom Hardy was definitely not at all well known when this came out, and this didn't exactly rocket him to stardom either. He became famous years later and only in retrospect do people now realize he was in this movie.

Stranger2Reality

Star Trek Voyager is my suggestion for your next series. Especially if you ever watch Picard season 3.

ChristopherTracy

My personal ranking: 1. First Contact 2. Nemesis/Insurrection/Generations -- tied

Clay F

I liked this movie more than insurrection. I didn't like losing Data though. My ranking of the TNG movies: Generations First Contact Nemesis Insurrection

V M

I recall some articles mentioned Brent Spiner insisted on killing off Data in order to do the movie. So I take that was like when Leonard Nimoy wanted Spock to die in ST II. Yeah I wish there wasn't the franchise fatigue thing and Enterprise get much deserved additional seasons.

Tech Citizen

At least from when the Dominion was introduced for sure

Joe

And she can't watch DS9 in select episodes, it needs to be watched in full.

Kristin D

Unpopular opinion: the gratuitous death at the end is what absolutely killed this movie for me. I never forgave the writers for that. It was unnecessary. Some folks, including me, believe the writers did this due to the backlash against their newer series, Enterprise which was doing poorly at the time. That show did deserve a few more seasons, despite a very rocky start.

Kristin D

So In this movie Tom Hardy didn’t see the light until he was almost a man and it was nothing more to him than blinding?

Trevor Rotan

You nailed it right away, some people are just too hard on movies. I try to go into most movies just wanting to be entertained, while some people seem to want something much deeper. And when they don't get it, they lose out on the entertainment that was there. You've enjoyed quite a few movies that many people seem to dislike, so good for you! 👍🏻 And I had no idea that was Tom Hardy. I don't even know if I knew who he was when this came out. 🤣

Bryan Fritchie

I watched Voyager long before I watched DS9 and had no problem. Besides DS9, for as much as I love it, would make no sense to watch for Cassie as so much of it is serialized in the later seasons.

Joe

You can't do Voyager before you do Deep Space 9. Voyager wouldn't even make sense before DS9.

Bryan Fritchie

Gotta watch season 3 of Picard. JUST season 3!

Justin

Lol. She makes such a lovely geek.

Chris Thom

Holy crap is that Tom Hardy?

Chris Thom

Its not a bad movie. I think that career wise all the characters needed to move on and it was nice to see them get some suggestion of of progression. Riker has clearly been captain material for some time, Worf had been serving on Deep Space 9, Data was taking on the first officer role. Franchises can have such sudden endings when studios pull the plug, so I’m glad this got a chance to say goodbye.

Ria Grix

PS - If your profile picture is real, you are amazingly beautiful.

Mark Schamber

Oh, that makes me happy. If she's half the Riker/Troi stan I think she is, I'm sure she'll find the time to read it, it's very much her type of book. :-)

Mark Schamber

I always thought this movie was severely underrated by Trek fans. When this came out Trek fans hated it, it bombed at the box office and basically ended TNG for decades. But I think this movie is extremely enjoyable and rewatchable. Shinzon is a great villain and his ship is super intimidating. The space battle at the end is arguably the best one in any Star Trek movie, but this movie to this day is like the black sheep of TNG where the fans still seem to either hate it or totally dismiss it. Maybe some day it'll be re-evaluated, I don't know. I will say that after the opening scene, the movie is pretty bad until Shinzon shows up, but it's quite good after that.

Stranger2Reality

I bought Imzadi for her a few months ago but I don't think she's had the time to read ot yet.

Katie Jackson

The only thing that really bothered me with this movie is that the Scimitar going full reverse wouldn't do a damn thing to separate from the Enterprise unless something was anchoring the Enterprise...that's not how physics in space works.

Mark Schamber

Voyager next please! (Voted episodes) Then Picard :)

Joe

I Liked it but did poorly at the Box office, why they never made another movie.

Tim C

Cassie, If you're looking for a good book to read, there's one in particular that I'm sure you'd be very interested in: Imzadi, by Peter David. If you're the Troi-Riker stan I believe you are, then you'll know what that word means & be VERY interested in reading this book.

Mark Schamber

That Make it snow jumper made me think if anyone has ever made a mashup of Let it so as Make it so. Silly question. Of course they have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xteKObnaA2c EDIT: Oh man. I have just fallen down a spectacular rabbit hole :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KvWwJ6sh5s

Brian McGovern

You know what would make a great Instagram video? Cassie doing her own video to White and Nerdy. "Only question I , ever though was hard, was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard". :) ALso talks about collecting X men comics (granted I do not think she has ever bought an X Men comic, but they both love the xmen franchise
