[YT Edit] Howard the Duck (1986)

Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for Howard the Duck, which will premiere shortly!

[YT Edit] Howard the Duck (1986)

Comments

I never saw this movie. What stupid title and concept. How they ever got financing for it astounds! I watched a few minutes of the reaction, which was more than enough. Even Cassandra couldn’t offset this train wreck. 😜

Steve B

He didn't, this is a made-up story.

Patrick Flanagan

Exactly! I actually loved it as a kid. But when I tried to get my friends and girlfriend to watch as a twenty-something... let's just say I got judged heavily!!! LOL. I realized I only liked it so much as a kid because it was novel and new for its time, and that I got away with watching a very adult-themed film.

Raj Hudek

Personally, I'm more of a fan of Tim Robbins in "The Sure Thing," which came out the previous year. Cassie might actually appreciate that movie.

Stephen Dias

'Twould have been better (or at least snarkier) to replace your last sentence with: "And that scene is the best part of the film!" :-)

Happy Hanukkah

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it must be ... an extraterrestrial alien who just so happens to resemble a duck. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

To be fair that was before Tim Robbins was a big name and with Lucas attached to the film he probably thought it would better than it was.

Richard Maurer

@Clay - John Wayne spanked women in several of his films, often enough that it was pretty clear he was into that kind of thing. Don’t want to kink shame but considering his star power I doubt the actress’s were in a position to refuse.

Richard Maurer

Yes that’s what I was hoping for.

Richard Maurer

I haven’t seen this movie in years, in fact I’m not sure I ever made it to the end. So yeah, this movie is very bad, but as I predicted Cassie’s reaction is priceless.

Richard Maurer

Including modern classics

Clay F

She watches way too much comic book crap... lots of classics out there to see, Cassie...

Clay A

Very accurate. I didn't even trust my own memory about it. Thought I made up most of it after a flu dream.

Chris Thom

I'm shocked, but stoked you reacted to this! This movie is a lost piece of Marvel gold. Not because it's awesome or anything, but just one of those movies where when you're at a party and you tell people about it, they totally think you're making it up and then you prove them wrong!!! LOL

Raj Hudek

....and have not aged a day since.

Clarence Newman

According to the comments under it, about half meant it as a troll, and half have genuine nostalgia for it. Sounds like the ones with nostalgia were between 4 and 11 when they first saw it.

Chris Thom

One of the first versions of the "multi-verse"...lol

Jay505

Why?

JULIE

It won a poll on one of her YT LIVEs.

Chris Thom

I have never been able to watch more than a few minutes of this movie without switching it off. Your reaction got me .... further since it was fun suffering with you. We owe you a really good one next time.

Michael Siegel

Who suggested this one?

JULIE

The first back-seater (the RIO - Radar Intercept Officer) was Goose. Tim Robbin’s was Merlin, the RIO assigned to Maverick when he got back to the ship. All I was saying was that I couldn’t come up with something clever connecting him to both a goose and a duck. Still can’t. Although the exuberance displayed by Tim Robbins at the end of Top Gun has always stuck with me, particularly after seeing him in so many other roles it just never seemed to fit him. Now I’m thinking that it was really due to him getting a chance to not have to work with the duck again. That would explain a lot to me. He went on a tear afterwards.

2-Can

That movie was a bag of ducks when I saw it as a kid, it’s a bag of ducks now. The myth is that every 80s movie is great and in reality, they just aren’t. You were a trooper though and you got through it. Kudos, Cassie!

Rich Evenhouse

Yup, even in this shortened minimal YouTube edit… it was a difficult watch. Not sure why people voted to put Cassie through this? Howard isn’t even a duck in the comics is he? He’s an alien that just happens to look like a duck.

Ria Grix

Viewings of Howard the Duck are outlawed by the Geneva Convention.

Ricardo Rodriguez

😂

Uncle Phoenix

Where did Lucas say he intentional made HTD a bad film for revenge?

Joe

I remember it being one of those fairly big budget summer movies I didn't have much of a desire to see. But have zero clue what it's about. Never saw it.

Chris Thom

Funny I was just about to look how it was doing 😂😂, might not get to 100k then but I wouldn’t be surprised if it got around the 60 to 75k mark.

Dean Holt

Howard the Duck was George Lucas getting revenge on Universal Pictures – the studio that treated him and his early masterpiece, American Graffiti so poorly a decade earlier. Back then, the studio hated Graffiti and didn't want to release it. But despite their lack of support and their meddling with the cut, it became one of the most profitable movies ever made. Regardless, the studio never repaired their relationship with Lucas, and he took his next projects elsewhere. So a decade goes by, and Lucas hits the jackpot with Star Wars (20th Century Fox) and Indiana Jones (Paramount) and now Universal is practically begging to get back in business with George – so they can have a blockbuster franchise too! *womp womp* Lucas still got paid, and laughed all the way to the bank.

Silver Machine

And almost 1600 comments already. Provocative movie apparently.

Chris Thom

Freddy Got Fingered is peak terrible.

Chris Thom

Oh God forgot about Birdemic...

Chris Thom

LOL. But its...HOWARD the DUCK...YEAH. That song is now with you for the rest of your life. Enjoy.

Chris Thom

Currently at 34K (after 19 hours) and increasing. Nostalgia for guys who watched it as a kid.

Clay F

Yes, but Tim Robbins was Maverick's wingman at the end of the film - after Goose bought the farm.

Clarence Newman

The Star Wars holiday special is definitely worse. There's a very lengthy section in that where it features just a family of Wookies in their house talking to each other in their native language with no subtitles, so for about 20 minutes you have absolutely no idea what is going on. Then the rest of the special really isn't much better.

Stranger2Reality

Not true. Jackie Stallone was a Karen.

Clarence Newman

The Fly is an excellent movie, just saying.

Stranger2Reality

I saw it when it first came out and remember almost nothing about it. I remember it was pretty boring and that it was directed by someone who simply went by the name "Kaos". There's a bunch of movies with 0% on Rotten Tomatoes though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_with_a_0%25_rating_on_Rotten_Tomatoes

Stranger2Reality

That was brutal, I could feel ur pain through the screen. Should react to '8 Seconds' , it's a perfect movie for what u ladies love and enjoy in a film

Patrick Crippen

Tim Robbins didn't play Goose, that was Anthony Edwards. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying?

Bryan Fritchie

I am so sorry people did this to you. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 However, now go watch the Guardians Of The Galaxy end credit scenes again & check out who you'll see. (Record it, and post it as a short!)

Bryan Fritchie

Wow, ok Mike, just goes to show, can’t trust a movie review website!

Mark White

Heavy 😉

Dirk-Jan (DJ)

I remember liking it. Not great but enjoyable. I won't go on my usually "Rotten Tomatoes is terrible" rant, but the movie isn't a zero.

Mike Lemon

Talking of bad movies! Have any of you heard of a movie called “Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever” it’s got Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu in it. Its apparently The worse movie on RT with 0% rating! Now that must be terrible!

Mark White

😂Dean I’m surprised you didn’t tell me to Zip it! www. Zip it! 😂

Mark White

It won a poll on a YT LIVE, so she watched it.

Joe

🙄

Joe

Clarence you need help

Joe

That’s a tough one…. How about we don’t find out 😂😂

Dean Holt

I’m going all Austin Powers 3 here….. HOW ABOUT NO!!!….. 😂😂

Dean Holt

It’s not all bad as it has Lea in it, but still a very valid statement 😂😂

Dean Holt

Love how Cassie has this WTF look on her face most of the way through 😂😂. Trust me we all can completely understand, but I’m willing to bet it get at least 100k views on YouTube so it’s not all bad.

Dean Holt

Have a heart, Joseph, this was a California Reaper experience for me. I need sympathy and understanding right now.

Clarence Newman

@Clarence, hence forth you are now officially a drama mama. 😆

Joe

Btw. Have you heard the theory that all “Karens” are all former Hotties who have lost their looks but still think that they are entitled to the same status that they once had???

Uncle Phoenix

Ikr.

Uncle Phoenix

Ah, so that's why Caroline in the City got four seasons! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

And why James Caan got exactly the same money for his one scene in Godfather 2 as he did for the whole of Godfather 1. Oh, the power of the phrase, "Take it or leave it."

Clarence Newman

😂😂😂 It’s the names that get me! The Sharknados for example! “Sharknado 3 Oh hell no” “Sharknado The 4th Awakens” “Sharknado 5 Global Swarming” 😂😂😂

Mark White

Oh, you need to say it, Mark, because that's how Howard the Duck got started. Without a very clear disclaimer ("Don't eat the big white mint!"), Lavalantula is probably a slam-dunk now.

Clarence Newman

OK........ Right........ Yeah........ I finished watching this half an hour ago. Been on the phone to the Po-po ever since because I feel both violated and burgled. I've never been waterboarded, but I imagine it would feel similar to this. That feeling like seconds are actually hours and you might die before the ordeal ends. If I was in the movie "Saw" and the choices were to watch this movie or crawl through the assault course of razor blades, I'd be bulk-buying band-aids right now. This film just robbed me of 45 minutes of my life and did Jazz Hands in my face while doing it. I want to feel sorry for Cassie, but I think she handled it better than me. If we had actually watched this in the same room together, she would be making me a cup of cocoa right now and not the other way around. In fact, I need a hug. Wh.....why?......what? Que paso????!!!!! I'm going to kick the next duck I see at the park, I ain't kiddin ya. If not for Lea Thompson.......ahhh, Lea Thompson......I would possibly take a short walk into oncoming traffic. I need therapy.

Clarence Newman

I’m sure I don’t need to say this! But don’t take this poll seriously guys! I’m just getting into the spirit of terrible movies!

Mark White

Sure is! 😆

Mark White

Maybe Cassie has ate the chili? Ha ha, - I love this movie, - it is just so darn 80s...! I may be under the influence of that powerful drug called nostalgia - but I just think that it's so funny on the verge of stupidity, but I like that a lot sometimes! But well done , Cassie - now you can cross this off the list... "Death to all duck hunters! - Tora! Tora! Tora!" (Isn't Tora a japanese word used by dive bombers for an element of surprise? - guess they have that on Duck World as well?)

Jens Kristensen

And isn't comedian Bill Burr in Zombeavers? Lmao

Jacob Colson

The songs are great and I love the score by John Barry as well. I like that Holly Robinson is part of the band as well... I always loved her vocals on the theme song for the "21 Jump Street"-tv-show...

Jens Kristensen

There would be the occasional nugget. For example - and you can call me nuts because it wouldn't be the first time - I think she would enjoy "Rhinestone" with Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton. It's ATROCIOUS, but in such a fun way that it's actually enjoyable. I think Cassie would love it.

Clarence Newman

😂😂😂

Mark White

😂 a very dear friend of mine, who’s a bit nuts( in the good way!) likes these movies! I’ll be honest I haven’t watched them all! 😂

Mark White

It was ENTIRELY her YT subscribers! No Patrons were involved in the making of this disaster. None. Whatsoever.

Clarence Newman

If only that was not a completely accurate statement.

Clarence Newman

You may jest, Phoenix, but Lea's one of those under-the-radar beauties that really shouldn't be. When we speak of the great beauties of the 80s, names like Michelle Pfeiffer, Geena Davis, Kathleen Turner, Elisabeth Shue and Jessica Rabbit will generally come up. No one mentions Lea Thompson.....until someone mentions Lea Thompson. Then we all go..... "Oh my GOD! Lea Thompson!!!!!"

Clarence Newman

Has anyone ever delivered a line with more breathless sensuality than Lea in Back To The Future? "Hi.....Ca.....Marty."

Clarence Newman

I have cleared my morning schedule, taken a Valium, and have my blanket ready in case some of the scenes are just too appalling for me to bear. I will now sit with Cassie and helplessly watch this thing, like James Garner watching Bruce Lee wreck his office in Marlowe (1969). All things being equal, I'd rather be watching The Fly.

Clarence Newman

Mark. I am deeply concerned that you have watched all these films. Were you tied down at the time?

Clarence Newman

Ok Cassie, if we are going to subject ourselves to Terrible movies, let’s do it properly, but in a way where it’s so bad it’s good! Ish!! Here’s my poll for you! Sharktopus. Piranhaconda. Mansquito AKA Mosquitoman. Lavalantula. Sharktopus vs whalewolf. Zombeavers.

Mark White

@Clay: Part of the problem with YouTube polls is that they don't allow you to change your vote. You vote blind and then afterwards when you see the percentages, you can't do anything about it. I would definitely have changed my vote to whichever movie could have beaten HOWARD, but it just wasn't an option. Still, since it only got 40%, more people clearly didn't want it than did (since the Costner and Wayne movies essentially split the vote).

Stick Figure Studios

Speak for yourself, TJ. I voted for MCCLINTOCK.

Stick Figure Studios

Yes, although they still used his likeness all over that movie which means he still got paid extremely well even though he wasn't in the movie. This was like how Michael Biehn got paid more for Alien³ than he did for Aliens even though he was a main character in Aliens but was only showed in a photograph in Alien³.

Stranger2Reality

I'd love to see her react to HUDSON HAWK.

Stick Figure Studios

John Barry wrote a good score. That's about all I can say in its favor.

Stick Figure Studios

What’s worse guys? “Howard the duck”or “Star Wars Holiday special”?! RT says Howard the duck!

Mark White

This is why he wasn't in the BEETLEJUICE sequel.

Stick Figure Studios

Loved this movie . Lea thompson is fab the band rock. Thomas Dolby songs are pure 80s

LDC7080

Wait, Howard the Duck dated Marty McFly's Mom!?

John Deardurff

Feels like in the future she needs someone to better vet the movies she's gonna randomly pick out of a hat to use in a poll then. Come and See is often cited as one of the most disturbing films ever made, then you had a totally forgotten John Wayne movie, a totally forgotten Kevin Costner movie and Howard the Duck. Seems like someone should have been there with a ringer to throw in just in case the finalists were all not great choices for Cassie and the channel.

Stranger2Reality

Ohhh that's right. Totally forgot he got cancelled.

Chris Thom

I watched that shit over and over again too. Wondering what the hell I was thinking right now. lol

Chris Thom

I voted for COME AND SEE -- the only one of the 4 poll candidates with consistent good reviews imo -- but yes I read during the live poll that it was a tough movie. McCLINTOCK (1963) [RT=53%] was second best in reviews, but had the image of John Wayne with a young lady bent over his lap spanking her. The ballpark results of the YT live poll were: 10% -- COME AND SEE (1985) 25% -- McCLINTOCK (1963) 25% -- THE GUARDIAN (2006) 40% -- HOWARD THE DUCK (1986)

Clay F

It was primarily her YT subscribers responsible

Clay F

I recall watching this movie exactly once... Were we trying to get Cassie to curse at some point? There was a silver lining here though; Lea Thompson (if you were a teenage boy in the 1980s anyway. Yup, I was...).

Michael Labs

This would best be described today as “what the actual duck?”

Mark Daniels

The Room (2003) but that has become campy to watch among some.

Clay F

I think everyone involved just did this movie because they figured with George Lucas producing it, it was bound to be a huge hit. After all, virtually all of Hollywood scoffed at Star Wars until it was released and made a ton of money. Lucas has since proven that he often has pretty questionable ideas. Look at the Star Wars holiday special, the post Jedi made for TV movies like Caravan of Courage, or his idea for Indiana Jones sequels, etc. They can't all be winners.

Stranger2Reality

In real time, I watched a reaction to the winner [The Room (2003)] of a "worst movie ever" poll in a live with about 20 patrons. Not the same as hanging out in person together .

Clay F

By the way, in case anyone wondered what happened to Jeffrey Jones (Dr. Jenning in this movie, and most famously from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Beetlejuice), this will explain it: https://www.dailynews.com/20100928/actor-jeffrey-jones-pleads-guilty-to-failing-to-update-sex-offender-registration/

Stranger2Reality

You know a film is bad when Cassie can’t think of one positive thing to say about a film Yikes! It was even worse than I remember 😬 I decided not to watch the full length reaction because I didn’t want to pay money to rent the movie. And I definitely made the correct decision I barely made it through the YouTube edit. I give you a lot of credit Cassie. Don’t think I could have sat through the entire film Wow! Still don’t know how it won a poll. That’s just mean to Cassie I think I need a palate cleanser

Robert da Spruce

I would not recommend a bad movie poll, as "so bad it's good" movies are usually only fun if you watch them with a group of friends. Usually watching movies like that alone is a huge slog.

Stranger2Reality

At least we didn’t “troll” her with Troll 2! 😂🥁

Randy

I commented on the full length reaction video (explaining why I wasn't watching that one), but decided to watch the YouTube edit just to see Cassie's reaction. It was funny to see her making all the same comments I had made about the movie (like saying it was a little kids movie dialog with adult themes. The only funny line in the entire movie came from Cassie's reaction— "Did George Lucas lose a bet?" I think the only reason this movie still exists at all is because Lucas's name is attached to it. It certainly isn't because of the quality of the movie. I think the lead actors (all of which are proven talents) had to have also lost bets. If this movie had been made on a budget of $1, the studio would have paid too much. This movie doesn't have a single redeeming quality. It is the Donald Trump of movies. I can't understand how anyone thinks it is good — not even in the "so bad it is funny" kind of way. (and I bet some of those fans are same people who say the Star Wars sequel movies are bad. Compared to Howard the Duck, the Star Wars sequels would belong in the top 20 movies of all time). The writing and directing for The Room and Plan 9 From Outer Space (considered among the worst movies ever made) are far superior to the script and directing for Howard the Duck (notably, the writers and director were relagated to little known TV movies and a video game or two after this). They took the source material, which is a humorous satire, and they striped away the satire. Then they threw out all the humor. And while they were at it they decided to get rid of all characters and plot. Cassie's description of this movie being painful to watch is very acurate. Seeing this edited down version in the reaction made me realize that it was even worse than I remembered. Maybe the fan base is made up only of individuals who like being subjected to torture. Maybe everyone who got roped into watching this movie lost a bet, too.

D. T. Nelson

As a kid, the coolest parts of this movie was the Neutron Disintegrator and also when Tim Robbin’s uses the satellite dish as a shield. That entire sequence was epic! 👍🏼

Randy

“Howard The Duck” is like that high school girlfriend who was so pretty that you just never noticed how stupid she was. Lea Thompson is that girl who was so pretty that she made her costars look like burn victims, and she Forced me to like this stupid movie against my will. Sorry Guys. Pretty girls are my Kryptonite.

Uncle Phoenix

What in your right mind made you want to watch Howard The Fucken Duck??? You might as well watch Birdemic and The Room. She's not that blonde, someone totally pranked her into watching Marvel's first flop

Redrum Ritual

I didn't make it 10 minutes. Horrible.

james sweeney

I did notice that the Alien Xenomorph is still living rent free in Cassie’s nightmare closet.

Uncle Phoenix

Oh, man! It's been decades since I've seen this movie, but it all just came back to mind, especially the parts with Jeffrey Jones being possessed by the evil overlord. One of my friends had an issue or two of the comic and that didn't do anything for me either. I did have a good laugh at his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, though.

Stephen Dias

And to be fair, Citizen Kane didn’t have Lea Thompson; and as a preteen in the Eighties, seeing Lea Thompson in her undies was a pretty Good Friday night. (Don’t Blame me. George Lucas put Carrie Fisher in a gold bikini for ticket sales. And it worked.)

Uncle Phoenix

Silver Linings!

Cole Jennett

Spirits and Saints above us, Preserve Us from “Ishtar”. However, can you imagine how insane that Production must have been; considering that Dustin Hoffman is a Devout Method Actor; and That other guy is a legendary Narcissist. The catering staff must have been going nuts during production.

Uncle Phoenix

So in 1986 Tim Robbins flew backseat to both Maverick in Top Gun and Howard the Duck here (was trying to make a connection to Goose in one film and Duck in another, but this movie just seems to prevent that from happening).

2-Can

Maybe it's Marvin the Martian you might be thinking of

Vlad D

I can’t stand any of the Power Ranger movies, except for the one with Heisenberg and the girl from the Hunger Games.

Uncle Phoenix

As horribly awesome as this movie is, it got me to join your Patreon

Brian Littlejohn

Mine is a 1972 movie called "Ben". It's the tragic story of a child who terrorized a town with a hoard of rats. Truly awful film.

Shadowlord

Our childhood comedy has become Cassie's adult tragedy! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Cassie isn’t going to trust us to vote on polls anymore but I’m loving watching her struggle through this😂🤣🪿

Philip Herman

You can kind of see me in the background at 33:14 of the YouTube edit, running away from the chaos at the far right of the screen. They shot this in Marin County, California, just down the hill from Skywalker Ranch.

jdj830

I never saw this movie. Never had a desire to

inspectordh

Well, I was half-expecting this reaction to be about 5 minutes long to show her 'favorite' parts. Then again, maybe the person who had to cut the YT version was being punished for something, since they probably had to effectively watch it 2 or 3 times in order to make this cut.

2-Can

Feeling like my childhood tragically sucked right now. Maybe for the best I hadn't seen this since 1989.

Chris Thom

The Garbage Pail Kids Movie

Robert Lemond

I haven't watched the reaction yet; I just clicked a dozen times at random on the seek bar to see some stills. Poor Cassie! :-) :-) :-)

Happy Hanukkah

I guess he wasn't technically wrong at that point - Madonna's first appearance on the silver screen wasn't until 1992. Until then, Howard probably measured 5'1" when projected onto a standard theater screen. I wonder if that's how Lucas sold it in his own mind so he could say that to the actor with a straight face 😂

Dan

Whoever suggested this movie or voted for this movie should never suggest another one ever again.

Mario Ramirez

Here's a shorter duck story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jjcAuEYW9M

Happy Hanukkah

Same LOL

Taran Gingery

Believe it or not, I don't think this was intended to be bad. I think everyone involved set out to make a hugely popular all-ages adventure. The problem is that the source material - which is actually pretty good - is a weird and satirical existential look at modern life, not an all-ages adventure story. The people who made this fundamentally misunderstood the character, except for maybe George Lucas himself. But Lucas was trying to help out his two old friends who were writing/producing/directing and didn't want to step on their (webbed) toes. And nobody wanted to butt heads with Lucas. So, disaster. Apparently the studio screening went so badly that executives got into a fist fight over who deserved the blame for the movie.

Patrick Flanagan

I’m going to tough it out tomorrow I think. Haven’t watched it since I was probably 12, but a YouTube edit should be plenty.

Cole Jennett

I’ll never forget standing a few feet away from George Lucas as he was telling the little person who wore Howard’s suit in the film “This duck’s gonna be bigger than Madonna!”

jdj830

So many duck puns

Neil Varma

I am not among those who recommended this movie, but I feel guilty about it anyway, because I’m in it. I was an extra in two scenes and you barely see me. I had a friend who worked for Industrial Light and Magic who helped get me the gig, and he knew it was going to be a disaster while it was being made, saying things like “they spent a million dollars to make a little person in a duck suit look exactly like a little person in a duck suit.” It was indeed a Marvel comic book; it was an attempt by the publisher to take market share away from alternative comics like Fritz the Cat and the Freak Brothers, and no don’t look them up. I want to make it up to you; there’s all sorts of movies that I think you would love but somehow never make it into your algorithm. Life is too short for dreck like this. (Though I have to admit that being an extra was fun!)

jdj830

I remember quite a few pushing for Come and See. I’m not sure she’d ever recover from that one.

Shad Kanyak

It only takes one person to send in a disk. ALL of us bear the guilt of allowing it to win the poll. Hopefully, someday Cassie will forgive us.

T.J. Gengler

I feel your pain. I had to endure this at the tender age of 12 back in 1986. I think it's good that you get to experience the bad ones once in a while. Some movies just miss the mark and this one did that big time. And this movie was really hyped back in '86. A full-blown ad campaign with merchandise. I had a bunch of the trading cards back then. Then, we went to the theater and saw it and thought, "What the hell was that?" Maybe you can do a bad movie poll in the future. Ask around and gather a list from online and throw them up and we can vote on the worst movie you can react to (nothing gross or scary, just bad). Could be...fun?

OneManReactionFaction

You may be right. I saw it in theater and thought it was ok, then saw it a few years later on HBO or whatnot and was far less impressed. But good actors and madcap story, so maybe a decent reaction. Certainly would be more enjoyable than Howard the Duck.

Mark Duedall

I enjoyed it very much! Now your brain is a little bit melted LOL 🤣🤣

Chris

Yeah, HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS is much better. I like that one myself.

Stick Figure Studios

Howard the Duck consistently makes it on to peoples "worst movies of all time" list. Are there any movies more painful to watch? I don't mean cult classics (like Plan 9 or Reefer Madness) that are so campy their fun to watch. I mean movies so cringe-worthy you can't get 5 minutes into it without shutting it off.

Shadowlord

Nope. Can’t do it.

Dan M

Her dislike was pretty apparent. Probably would have had more luck with something like Harry and the Hendersons. That one is at least “tender” as Cassie and Carly like to say.

Shad Kanyak

Cassie had a better line than anything in this movie, "Did George Lucas lose a bet?"

Bill Roland

Jaws the Revenge has one of my all time favorite Michael Caine stories attached to it. He was once asked about what he thought about that movie and said something to the effect of "I have never seen the film, but by all accounts it was terrible. However I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific." 😂

Stranger2Reality

Not only did she not like it, but I'm skeptical she's even going to join the live chat during the YT premiere.

Stick Figure Studios

I actually like ISHTAR (and I suspect Cassie would too).

Stick Figure Studios

Oh, it did.

Stick Figure Studios

I did. I watched the full reaction with my 4K copy I’m sure Cassie would use as a coaster or frisbee.

Shad Kanyak

It's almost heartbreaking watching that optimism slowly drain away as the movie goes on.

Stick Figure Studios

It won a poll with three other movies (COME AND SEE, McCLINTOCK and THE GUARDIAN).but all of those movies were selected at random from a group of DVDs she was sent, so blame the nutcase who sent her the disc in the first place.

Stick Figure Studios

Have you watched her reaction?

Stick Figure Studios

And with Tim Robbins no less.

Stick Figure Studios

To be fair, I also saw HOWARD THE DUCK before I ever saw CITIZEN KANE.

Stick Figure Studios

Cassie is such a good sport for not just turning this off in the middle. Her poor editor, too. Next up Ishtar, or perhaps Jaws the Revenge? Yikes.

Mark Duedall

I watched this so many times when I was in middle school! I loved it.

John Neiberger

Wake me up when the duck plays guitar.

Chris Thom

Holy wow how’d this end up here! 😂 I know it’s well hated and somewhat disowned by George Lucas, but I loved this as a kid not understanding all the innuendos and the animal kingdom 😂🦆

Randy

She still hasn't seen Citizen Kane, but she's seen Howard the Duck. Something is very, very wrong here.

Shadowlord

Truly the Jacob's Ladder of Marvel films.

Chris Thom

She picked like 10 movies, and then rolled a die and randomly eliminated 6 and the it was one of the 4 remaining.

Alex Gorell

One of the most terrifying visions of hell ever committed to film

Christopher Coake

I don’t believe she didn’t like it. I bet she’s watched it several more times since then.

Shad Kanyak

I get that voters pranked Cassie by choosing this (even though I wouldn't have), but how did it even get included in the poll in the first place? I'm guessing that the vast majority of people who voted for this won't even watch this reaction.

Stranger2Reality

You seem like too nice a person to be subjected to this kind of penance, Cassie. Blessings.

Above Average Dave

Excited for this in ways I can’t describe. I do love your attitude and optimism.

T.J. Gengler

🎸 Howard the Duck WoOoO 🎸

Witchfinder General

I hope the edit got all of Cassie's frustration hahaha
