Coming up!

*Updated to the correct Superman II poster :)

Happy Remembrance/Veterans Day everyone! I'm wearing my poppy today <3 I hope we all took a moment to be thankful and remember the sacrifice so many made and continue to. I am so thankful every day for the freedoms we enjoy. I am thankful for the channel and how it has opened my eyes more to the history of our veterans and their stories.

How was your weekend? My son had a soccer game at 7am on SAturday morning which seemed cruel, but then I got there and realized there was a game scheduled even before us a 6:15! Count your blessings and all that I guess! We are actually headed on a little trip this week which I am so excited about, and then last minute, as in an hour ago, Carly and my brother and his fam (including new baby nephew) decided to come and now I cant.even.wait. Can anyone guess where we are going? I'll give you a hint-it's overpriced and there are ducks there.

SEQUEL SHOWCASE!!! I wasn't planning on doing the top 3 but it just worked out and I am so pumped about it! I have been wanting to watch all of these for a long time so this lined up great!

Still coming this month is Son in Law, ST 3, my poll and the duck one! Just FYI we will probably just have two patreon releases the week of Thanksgiving. I would like to have our Extra Butter Live tentatively on 11/26 and also a YT LIVE the second week of December!

I also wanted to let you know that a new podcast episode came out today (Sunday on Patreon) and it was a fun one! "Most likely to.....October Edition" Think "most likely to join a cult? How about the sisters from Arsenic and Old Lace are accidentally starting a cult for sure" type thing! We would love for you to check it out!

Thanks as always for everything always, love you truly madly deeply

Cassie

Hi Cassie. This comment of mine has been popping up in my head lately (no pun intended) and I just want to apologize for it and try to explain better what I meant to say. I see how it could be easily misunderstood and I feel awful about it. I thought that I was agreeing with you that it's cruel for you the parent to have to get up that early for a game and I wanted to give you kudos for supporting your child's participation in team sports, which is wonderful, but I see how that could easily be read as sarcasm or some kind of put down, and the very thought of that has me feeling sick and disgusted with myself. I think the world of you and couldn't even think of putting you down in any way. I'm sorry. Since I can't seem to communicate clearly I'm banning myself from commenting, because I don't want to accidentally do it again, but if it's okay with you, I'll still give you all the support, likes, and hearts that I can. Love forever, Kevin

clutchkman

The Odd Couple is next Cassie. You and Carly will love it. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau at their absolute best! A true comedic classic.

Chris

I wonder if Cassie will realize someone is missing from the Superman II Edit of Superman I events. 🤷 A “Big” someone.

Larry Darrell

Don't worry. Remember there basically wasn't a home video market back then, so Superman II was edited with the assumption that NOBODY had seen the first one in 2 years. She's actually recreating the original experience about perfectly :)

Robin T

Sometimes the poor girl needs to be saved from herself. She's in the big leagues now. It's a shame we can't include movie clips with our posts on here. All we'd have to do to get her attention is post a gif of Aragorn pushing the double doors open. She'd listen to every word we said after that.

Clarence Newman

JAWS 2 is like PSYCHO 2, an unnecessary sequel to a horror masterpiece that actually turned out to be much better than it had any right to be.

Stick Figure Studios

I also like Jaws 2. Overall it doesn't hold a candle to the original, but I think there are a two or three moments, and a few awesome shots, in that film that are quite incredible.

JC762

Would have like to see Jaws 2 included in the sequels poll. I’m sure it wouldn’t have won since many people don’t like it, but I think it’s underrated.

SeanATX

That's very Aragorn! "WHAT SAY YOU?!"😀 I'd go with that, although I'm not sure what Cassie would think of us describing films she really wants to watch as ka-ka!😆 Sounds very Quantum Leap (RIP Dean Stockwell)!👌

Chris Clarke

That's a good idea, Chris, but I think that poll should be the reverse of what we normally do. Cassie puts up 8 films she really, really wants to watch, we then have the chance to veto the 4 we think are complete ka-ka and she ends up watching the other 4. What say you?

Clarence Newman

I think there should be a "Cassie's Pick" poll over the festive period where Cassie suggests a bunch of films that she really wants to see but hasn't yet, and we vote for up to three of them: that way she's guaranteed a film (or 2 or 3: up to her) she should enjoy watching. I imagine she has quite a few to suggest by now!😊

Chris Clarke

My thoughts exactly.

Clarence Newman

Seeing as this Upcoming is kind of dead now I’m going with ka-ka.

Richard Maurer

Only if Cassie reads my post. If not, it isn't worth ka-ka.

Clarence Newman

That must be a very rare edition of that poster, probably very valuable too.

Richard Maurer

OK, I don't believe in fate, but this just can't be ignored. I've got that poster of Superman II on my wall, but my version has a speech bubble coming out of it. It says "Cassie. I have Officer and a Gentleman in one hand and The Great Race in the other. Pick one for Tender November." I mean, how did he know?

Clarence Newman

Lol! OG BABY!

Ricardo Rodriguez

I understand and respect that. I dont't quite agree, however it's a legit complaint.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Same, really underrated film.

Jaime Murphy

It's definitely a shame that Sir Paul ended up giving us one of the best Bond themes for one of the worst movies in the series. For me, Moore didn't truly start jelling in the role until "The Spy Who Loved Me"... and then, by "Octopussy," he'd worn out his welcome, IMO. "A View to a Kill" is still the all-time weakest for me. I know people love the Duran Duran theme, but it just doesn't sound very 'Bondian' to me; just more like a typical mid-'80s song on Top 40 radio (ditto the theme for "The Living Daylights"). 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

@LDC7080: Like I said, Routh looks great, but has other issues. Personally, I think Singer should have been more focused on casting another Superman rather than casting another Christopher Reevem

Stick Figure Studios

Howard The Duck FTW... you are the duckist...

Jens Kristensen

There actually is a great show on Amazon called Jury Duty that came out about a year or two ago. So funny! Whenever I recommend it I have to mention it’s not the Pauly Shore movie😂. If there’s ever been a hit or miss actor, lol. He hit two times, and missed the rest, IMO

Cole Jennett

That first scene with him in the suit and glasses. Very Christopher reeves. Excellent casting imho

LDC7080

Is it too late to duck Howard?

Clarence Newman

Ohh, you've been well-informed. A lot of people like Ashleigh Burton like Grumpier Old Men even more than the first.

Raieldon

Just posting this semi randomly - looking forward to everything in Sequels week! A nice little triplet of movies. ......but..... I just wanted to mention that Disney+ just posted a little trailer featuring a little footage from STAR WARS ANDOR Season 2, which is premiering in April of next year. The first little bit of footage. So I'm currently hyped! Season 1 of the show came out all the way back in 2022. We're FINALLY only just now getting Season 2 now, so you KNOW it's a quality show they took their time making it and didn't rush. Sure, COVID and the Writers Strike helped delay it a bit, but whatever. 😁 Personally I'm going to be rewatching Season 1 for Thanksgiving. Season 1 is only 12 episodes. There wont be a Season 3 because Season 2 leads right into Rogue One. It's honestly very much a family and community show, well..... a rebellious community against The Empire! The show will break your heart and inspire you. It's about the working class in the STAR WARS universe. FREEDOM! Hurray for fictional Veterans too! Another thing great about it is it's VERY self contained, although it does also take place in the galaxy of the greater STAR WARS fiction. You can basically just start watching it and all you need to really remember is The Empire is still in charge and Luke hasn't blown the first Death Star up yet. I do hope you watch it.

YodatheHobbit

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen Superman II, and I couldn’t remember at what capacity the scenes from the first Superman were used. It’s still cool to know that Superman II was not an after thought. It was planned and setup when they made the first film. I didn’t know how much she would remember from 2 years ago or if it would come across in Superman II as new scenes to her. It’ll be interesting to see if she remembers that she saw this setup 2 years ago.

Larry Darrell

Hey, at least it's not Jury Duty, both the Pauly Shore movie and the required service.

YodatheHobbit

I thought the same thing too at first, but it's really not necessary. They essentially restage the opening scene of SUPERMAN in the sequel, and they briefly summarize the first movie during the opening credits with shots from it (decades later SPIDER-MAN 2 would do the same thing during its opening credits, only with paintings by Alex Ross).

Stick Figure Studios

Witchfinders post is gone. Now did he do it himself or was it done for him is the question.

Richard Maurer

Top Duck, Duck Trek, Smokey and the Duck

Dan M

Good call Larry! The beginning of Superman is crucial to the plot of Superman II.

Dan M

Ditto on that. I’m sure that most of us Bond fans knew, of all the Pre-Craig Bonds, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun were going to be the least liked by Cassie and Carly. I never thought I’d be cursing Paul McCartney & Wings’ Theme song. For Your Eyes Only could have been a favorite of theirs. Don’t Get Me Started.

Larry Darrell

Yeah, don't get me started on Bond either. I'm *still* miffed they ended up watching LIVE AND LET DIE instead of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY.

Stick Figure Studios

Did anyone mention to Cassie that there are 2 mid-credit scenes and 1 end credit scene in Austin Powers? *Addition* Also Cassie… I don’t know how much you remember about the first Superman Movie, but it very well might be worth giving, at least, your YT Edit of the first film, a Re-Watch before the Sequel. At least the first 5 minutes or so. ;-)

Larry Darrell

lol, for a sec I thought we were getting 2 superman films there 😅

D4RK

Calm down. Don't be so defensive

Witchfinder General

Who doesn't love the weasel?

Canadianant

The Mighty ducks of course

Canadianant

Hey, that's what I said! Great minds...

Kevin Schultz

Two words...Medical Marijuana...One 50 mg capsule of THC and you won't remember watching it...works for me.

crazyivan

Lucky for you, you’re going to get the chance to rectify that error😉

Cole Jennett

I have never or will be a simp for Cassie. In that vein if you don't like her content or the way she does things you don't have to be here.

David Freese

"It's overpriced and there are ducks there." So, the Wisconsin Dells.

Carol_White

I know. We’ll Never Forget.

Larry Darrell

It still feels like a punch in the gut to see the WTC towers.

Kevin Schultz

@Popcorn in Bed - Well, nobody's perfect. ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

It's Not the first time the wrong poster has been put up and it won't be the last. ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

@Witchfinder General - Jesus Christ, dude.

Stick Figure Studios

@Dave: See my DM response over at Discord.

Stick Figure Studios

Great movies Cassie! Can’t wait. Coming to America, a classic, more trek and some good sequels to come. I was really hoping croc 2 might have snuck in there, but I guess than can wait till January. If you and Carly are spending a little time with your brother, don’t forget to bend his ear! Over joining his sisters on Popcorn to go! Enjoy yourself at Duck World!! Or Duckland?! Whichever it may be. I fear we are on a countdown to a duck movie! Can I PiB gang come up with a better duck movie?! Indiana Duck Jurassic Duck Duck Wars The Duck Redemption SuperDuck! 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🤪😂

Mark White

I hope you watch Returns at some point, it's very underrated imo. Seeing Superman back on the big screen after 20 odd years was amazing!

Odd Thomas

@Ricardo: Thematically It's a very rich film.

Stick Figure Studios

Alright! The poster has been fixed! There's the REAL Superman. ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

Thank you for watching the interview, Cassie. Scene by Scene is one of my all time favourite TV shows, I used to watch it all the time when I was a teenager. What made the show so special was that the interviewer, Mark Cousins, really researched on each actor or director he interviewed and always asked great questions and (almost!) always had a great rapport with whoever he was interviewing. Other people he interviewed were Lauren Bacall, Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Woody Allen, Jeff Bridges, Terrence Stamp, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin and Kirk Douglas. The very first Scene by Scene interview was with Sean Connery, so if you ever go back to watching the James Bond movies again, I'll happily post a YouTube link to that first interview!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

whoopsadaisy! Fixed!

Cassie

Cassie's professionalism has definitely served her well... but how her channel took off so quickly compared to other, equally worthy channels that have continued to languish under 100K subs despite being around longer (Shanelle Riccio, Just SUMM Reactions, and Dawn Marie come to mind) is still rather odd to me. 🤔

Byrd N. Hand

you are not wrong

Cassie

just watched it, he is so charming, what a great interview and special story, thanks for sharing

Cassie

To all the Trek fans out there, shall we dob Cassie in about the Attached/Gambit debacle?

Clarence Newman

@ Joe I didn't say PiB isn't more popular. Cassie has way more simps, this is not disputed

Witchfinder General

Jen has good schedules. Her reaction views are surprisingly low, mostly in the 20-40k range. Cassie is just a massively more popular reactor.

Joe

Of course, Jen started her channel almost a year later than Cassie did... yet she still puts out more content than Cassie. Of course, I feel her decision to watch the *entire* TNG series is kind of hampering her right now (and, as a result, Cassie is almost certainly going to beat her in becoming the first reactor with over 50K subs to watch the entire 'Star Trek 1.0' movie series). But, at the same time, how many other reactors are willing to watch stuff like "The Last Starfighter," "Explorers," or "Flight of the Navigator"? Not to mention the *entire* James Bond series (even the 2 unofficial outings)? And the fact that she apparently hadn't seen a single Pixar movie prior to creating her channel still baffles me more than anything. Next to Addie Counts, she might be the greenest reactor out there in terms of lack of major movies seen before creating their channel. 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

You may jest, Larry. She's already done that with a Star Trek episode.

Clarence Newman

Yes. To hell with Clouseau. Put Elke on there!

Clarence Newman

Yeah, my previous statement is as far as I'm going on the subject; I think I've left enough room for plausible deniability...

Byrd N. Hand

Not exactly a place you'd want to go in November...

Byrd N. Hand

Don’t get me started :-) You’ll find many posts of mine in the comments section of all the previous original Bond films and Polls. I expressed passionately on how all the original 16 films, from Dr. No to Licence to Kill, tell one complete story of the same James Bond character. They are all linked and show a great character arc for James Bond that spans 16 films over 27 years. Licence to Kill has so many connections to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It’s the resolution of events. I call it, The James Bond Coda.

Larry Darrell

I can't believe you're watching SON IN LAW. I was a Pauly fan back in the day and I didn't even watch it.

Antmovies

@Joe Variety is inevitable if you watch movies without themes or seasons

Witchfinder General

Yes, with the exception of "Goldfinger," the first 7 Bond movies all have a loose through line regarding the same terrorist syndicate and (ultimately) its leader, and, thus, should have all been watched in order just like the Craig movies. In fact, looking at the whole series overall, I've deducted that there are really only *5* movies that are completely 100% standalone outings: -"Goldfinger" -"Octopussy" -"A View to a Kill" -"The Living Daylights" -"Die Another Day" "Licence to Kill" very nearly also makes the cut, if not for a brief reference to the events at end of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (I suppose having prior knowledge of Bond and Felix's relationship would also help a viewer's appreciation of the movie even more). "For Your Eyes Only" would also make the cut if not for its cold open. But every other movie either alludes to events/characters from a previous outing, or introduces events/characters that will come up again in a subsequent outing, the remaining links as follows: "Live and Let Die"/"The Man with the Golden Gun" "The Spy Who Loved Me"/"Moonraker" "GoldenEye"/"Tomorrow Never Dies" "GoldenEye"/"The World Is Not Enough" But, hey, at least Cassie viewing "From Russia with Love" and "Goldfinger" first allowed her to get some of the spoofs/references in the first Austin Powers movie.

Byrd N. Hand

I like this Superman poster much better. If anyone was to miss the small Roman numeral “2,” you’ve also got 2 Superman Fists and 2 large World Trade Center Towers. There’s no mistaking, this is the 2nd film. ;-) Thanks Cassie. You’re the Best. Looking forward to it. :-)

Larry Darrell

Good selection Clay. I like the first three, but haven’t seen the last two. If we get a certain Gentleman Officer movie, Clarence will explode with excitement! 💥😆

Mark White

I know I mentioned this before, but I just had to mention it again; There is a really great BBC Scene by Scene interview with the late, great actor Jack Lemmon. He talks about Some Like It Hot (1958) at 13:32 but he also talks about other great films he made including The Apartment (1960), Save the Tiger (1973) and Glengarry Glen Ross (1992). Also at 37:35, there is a very powerful, profound moment where Jack Lemmon describes taking a trip to Berlin in 1960, with Billy Wilder, (on a day off from doing publicity for The Apartment (1960)) and seeing the ravaged houses that were once Jewish homes ("There were bullet marks all over, like the buildings had measles.."). Trust me, it is one of the most profound, moving anecdotes you will ever hear in an interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-L4Odes8Oc

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I just hope she didn't watch the wrong movie. I know of other reactors who have watched the incorrect spider man sequels since they aren't clearly named.

Adam Doyle

All I’m going to say is watch what you’re saying here. You’re flirting with two ways of getting banned.

Richard Maurer

I like Jen too but look at her total subscribers compared to Cassie. Cassie has to try to keep more people happy and sometimes Jen does 4 a week which is hard for Cassie to do. They are both great at what they do but imo you can't compare the 2 channels.

David Freese

Every reactor has themes throughout the year. There are plenty of choices for reactions from Cassie. I'm sure you like several every month most months.

David Freese

@Cole - the movies yes (LotR still came first). But Return of the King was published 10 years before J K Rowling was born.

Richard Maurer

Well unfortunately they made it as a direct sequel. If you go by the promise, he was gone for a long time and didn't know about what happened cause he left before she even knew

David Freese

Stick please look it up its not the 5th of any continuity. Its set exactly 5 years after two. I'm trying to be nice so look it up for me me

David Freese

It's kind of a "soft reboot." It's the fifth Superman movie in one continuity and the third in another. EDIT: Oops. I misspoke. I meant the fifth movie in the Superman franchise (not counting SUPERGIRL) and not in the continuity. Thanks to Dave for catching my mistake. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

I think it was intended to be more of a sequel to the Richard Donner cut of 2 (which doesn't have the promise he makes at the end of the theatrical and also explains... well, certain story developments that wouldn't make sense otherwise). Personally, I've always looked at it as a sort of pseudo-sequel that borrows some continuity from the first two films (as well as iconography, music, etc), but ignores other elements where it's convenient. It's really its own thing.

Stick Figure Studios

I did recommend The Holdovers. Hopefully it makes the lineup

Witchfinder General

HAROLD AND MAUDE Is one of my favorite films.

Stick Figure Studios

That's a fair point. Still moved by the story of having to move on from the past. Especially as I get older.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Before I get excited for Superman Returns, do you mean Superman II?

Odd Thomas

For Superman 2 you should have put a poster of Batman 2 just to freak people out even more 😂

Philip G.

@Joe: Routh is surprisingly flat and uncharismatic. I know he was cast because of his resemblance to Reeve, and he looks great, but he just has no presence as Superman and he has kind of a weak voice (though he fares marginally better as Clark Kent where these cons are actually pros). It doesn't help that they have him say many of the same lines Reeve did because Routh really suffers from the comparison. Also, and this isn't his fault, I never liked his suit: too dark with the "S" and the shorts being too small. Interestingly, Routh was much better when he reprised the role in the crisis crossover event on TV (and he had a better suit). Perhaps he just needed to grow into the role.

Stick Figure Studios

It's better than it's given credit for, but it's still a deeply flawed film.

Stick Figure Studios

It isn't the first time this has happened... and it won't be the last.

Stick Figure Studios

No, It's the wrong poster. She's watching Superman 2 from 1980.

Stick Figure Studios

She's kind of running out of quality Christmas titles, I feel. Apart from more "Christmas Carol" adaptations, I can't really think of anymore. 🤔 That said, I'm hoping she does with "The Shop Around the Corner" this year exactly what she did with "White Christmas" last year (i.e. finally post it to YT a year after the fact).

Byrd N. Hand

Just waiting on the day when she does actually watch the wrong movie. ;-)

Larry Darrell

and Elke Sommer. ;-)

Larry Darrell

Pretty easy to win when your opponent keeps shooting itself in the foot...

Byrd N. Hand

“Tad,” is me being nice. ;-) I could go on a long rant on how all of the Pre-Craig Bond films were treated, but it would be pointless. Que Sera Sera… What will be, will be :-)

Larry Darrell

It's meant to be more like Superman 3.2.

Byrd N. Hand

Hell, I'll throw out a couple off-the-beaten-path titles for this Tender November thing as well: "Harold and Maude" and "Gregory's Girl."

Byrd N. Hand

🤣🤣

William Bryan

yoooo do not watch Superman Returns before you see Superman 2. It is literally a direct sequel to Superman 2

djKENTO

Agreed. Jen Murray has the best schedules imo, knocks out reaction after reaction of popular titles, whereas Cassie messes about with polls & polls-of-polls, themes, and seasons...

Batman

Harry Potter and LOTR came out around the same time at least.

Cole Jennett

Hey Cassie! Happy Veteran’s Day! Sounds like you’ve got a nice family vacation planned (or unplanned). Overpriced with ducks…it’s gotta be California, and maybe more specifically, Disney Land? Wherever you’re going, I hope you have a blast with Carly and your brother. I spent the weekend tailgating with my daughter and her roommate at Penn State prior to their white out game against Washington. I got to meet a lot of her friends on campus, and the atmosphere was just electric. WE ARE…PENN STATE! Great theme week coming up! I voted for Austin Powers, but secretly also wanted Superman II to win as well. And I got both! Will miracles never cease. I’ve never seen Grumpier Old Men, so it’s a win-win-win for me.

Dan M

@Richard, Cassie herself likes themes and such, seems to keep her interest and excitement up from month to month.

Joe

Are we not getting superman returns ? I really liked that movie. The scene gave me goosebumps (you know the scene)

LDC7080

It never made much sense that it was a direct sequel to Superman 2, given the promise that he made at the end of that film. (It also didn’t make sense to portray him a creepy deadbeat dad who secretly stalks his ex-girlfriend.)

Silver Machine

Everyone has different tastes in movies, so she has always opted for variety on the channel, very necessary for the success of any mainstream reaction channel.

Joe

History is written by the victors

William Bryan

Not at all

Richard Maurer

That’s how I feel every time a reactor watches LotR and says something reminds them of Harry Potter. But I’d increase the annoyance level considerably from just a tad.

Richard Maurer

They Shall Not Grow Old (which would be a great Veteran's Day watch) is a 2018 documentary film directed and produced by Peter Jackson. It was created using footage of the First World War held by the British Imperial War Museum (IWM), most of which was previously unseen, and all of which was over 100 years old by the time of the film's release. Much of the footage was colourised restored using modern production techniques for its use in the film, and sound effects and voice acting were added to the silent footage. The film's narration was edited from interviews with British WWI veterans from the collections of the BBC and the IWM.

Jacob Colson

Over-priced and has ducks. That narrows it down to most 1st world countries.

Richard Maurer

That is indeed the wrong poster. It should have Inspector Clouseau on it. 😁

Clarence Newman

Don't care about how 'super' (or not) the poster is... I'm just thrilled it's going to be 'grumpier' this week!

Terry Yelmene

I think she probably meant to put the poster and name for Superman II (1980) and not Superman Returns (2006)

Adam Doyle

I hate to say it but I kind of agree. Too many themes and “weeks” - maybe a little randomness once in a while to spice things up wouldn’t hurt.

Richard Maurer

Respectfully, wouldn't agree. (though funny line, especially because Supes needs the sun too). The whole is, obviously, meant for him to evoke Reeve. Which I think he does well. It's limiting I admit.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Cassie often has the wrong posters, but always gets the movie right…. I think? I hope.

Richard Maurer

Routh has the screen charisma of a house plant (haha), maybe that was the problem.

Joe

You off to the Howard The Duck theme park in preperation then lol, fun movies coming up on patreon gives me the excuse to watch full reaction of Austin Powers 1 beforehand.

Gray

Well Mike LL we are human.

David Freese

Agreed

Luke Godfrey

It actually isn't a reboot its a direct sequel to Superman 2 ignoring the events of 3 & 4

David Freese

She's a great reactor, doesn't mean she always has great schedules. Her October schedule was terrible, shoehorning 'horror-adjacent' movies because it's October, now 'tender' movies because it's November, sequels just because they are sequels - no doubt in December we'll get a bunch of terrible Christmas movies. How about just watching the best movies whatever month it happens to be?

Witchfinder General

Technically its 3. The producers and the studio thought of it as a direct sequel to 2 ignoring 3&4

David Freese

I wouldn't mind it either (I think that movie is best than its reputation), just so long as it's *after* SUPERMAN II.

Stick Figure Studios

Ah, yes. PIB's amusing tradition of putting the wrong poster continues. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Sweet! This will be fun. I need to send something to the PO Box.

Author Travis Adams Irish

Superman Returns is better than it's rep. Not perfect, but more thematically rich than people want to give credit.

Ricardo Rodriguez

I wouldn’t mind at all if Cassie watched Superman Returns! Love that movie.

Luke Godfrey

It's beyond silly she can get the Superman poster wrong, not the first time for sure (haha).

Joe

If you are indeed going to Disneyland (California), I highly recommend San Fransokyo (in DCA) for lunch. Great food options, very fun zone.

Matt Rose

@Mr. General, are you new here? She's been doing themes and such for years. Her channel is incredibly successful, so one might well conclude she knows what she's doing.

Joe

You should check out the Zack Snyder DC films, if you haven't done so already. Very well done.

Robert N Douglass

+1 for Stalag 17 (1953)

Larry Darrell

That's hilarious about the soccer game. 7 am? That IS cruel! Good for you though, not every parent would do that for their kids. Have a great vacation!

clutchkman

Aren’t we fun😂

Cole Jennett

The thought of Cassie watching Dr. No (1962) one day and reacting to Ursula Andress in her white bikini, with “hey that’s from Austin Powers…” Annoys me a tad, but I guess a bunch of people did it that way. 🤷

Larry Darrell

Overpriced and ducks- you're going to Disney Land!

My_Cousin_Mose

In Memphis?! Be careful

Larry Darrell

Kinda like the Thirteen Colonies did?

William Bryan

Superman Returns? I hope she isn't confusing this 2006 film with the actual 1980 Superman 2.

David Crabtree

There are several comments about the Superman poster. I am sure there will be more. I suggest not doing any more sequels for a while. Two movies I recommend for tender November = Lost in Translation (2003) and The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019). An Officer and a Gentlement (1982) is a third choice. Others include Sideways (2004) and Adventureland (2009). Have a good time with family you mentioned.

Clay F

The best thing about the 2006 Superman Returns film is the teaser trailer with the Marlon Brando lines over John William's "Krypton theme". The rest is ignorable. But I assume you actually watched Superman 2 as we voted since you polled us about theatrical vs the Richard Donner cut. So it's just the thumbnail that's mistaken.

hurryupmode

Congratulations for committing treason.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Okay... I am sure someone has pointed out that Superman 2 is not Superman Returns right? Returns is part 5

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Clearly, Cassie and the fam are headed to the world famous Peabody Hotel.

Just Plain Bob

Overpriced and has ducks? Are you coming to Wisconsin Dells??? When ad how can I meet you guys?? Hot take: I actually liked Superman Returns.

Cassie is just pulling my man-bun at this point. It's like Lucy and Charlie Brown playing football. Just when I think I'm about to punt Officer and a Gentleman through the uprights, the little minx whips the ball away. There will be no consequences, though, because she basically had me at Shawshank.

Easily the best theme of the TNG films. https://youtu.be/mhoa7oWPPhk?si=lSelEGrXj6t8KfwG

The Superman poster isn't the one who won the poll. Superman Returns is like Superman 5. It's more of a reboot after the Christopher Reeve movies. I'm assuming it is just a mistake with the poster choice and you will actually be watching Superman 2.

D. T. Nelson

Good choices my favorite is grumpier old men hopefully one day you’ll get to see three men, and a little lady also a tender movie.

Doc Larry

Everyone is saying this is a mistake, but just in case. Cassie, don’t watch Superman Returns before Superman II. Otherwise nice pick of movies 🍿

Walter Crockett

Interesting that I completely missed the Superman Returns snafu but totally focused on the confusing "ST 3" reference, 😂😂😂!

Mike LL

So glad that Star Trek is back in the mix! Waiting a month has been rough!

Steven Mertes

Looking forward to Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me and Grumpier Old Men. You'll love them, both. In keeping with both Tender November and Veterans Day, a good war movie choice would be Stalag 17 (1953). American POW's in a German camp in WWII. May have been the inspiration for Hogan's Heroes. PS: Recheck the Superman poster. Superman Returns is one that is frowned upon by many. 😁

Not gonna say why but last week was effing awesome!!! USA!! USA!! USA!!

William Bryan

Oh. Ok then. Thanks for pointing it out.

Christopher

Same here was actually watching this week's podcast on Spotify when the notifications showed up

Weak movies. All these 'seasons' and 'themes' is leading to a sub-par lineup, shoehorning films to fit the assignment

Witchfinder General

Its a mistake its Superman 2 theater cut

David Freese

Loving the Sequel Week idea! AP 2 will be funny! Supes 2 will be thrilling! And GOM will be grumpier! The above was written based off your post which announced "ST 3" next week. I'm assuming you mean Star Trek Insurrection. Which IS the third TNG movie but NOT the third Star Trek movie. Please refrain from giving movies you intend to watch confusing acronyms, or I won't be able to love you back truly madly deeply! JUST KIDDING! Love ya, mean it!

Superman 2

I was quite literally refreshing this Patreon page when the email notification came through. Right place, right time!

Wonderful lineup. Can't wait for all the sequels. Even the theater cut of Superman 2 it Superman so gosh darn i hope you like it and I can see it again as the little kid I was in 80. Also enjoy Disneyland with your family. Pics or it didn't happen! Lol 😆 🤣 😂

David Freese

Are you watching SUPERMAN II or SUPERMAN RETURNS? Those are two different movies with two different actors.

_tragicmike

I’m surprised that Superman Returns wound up as a runner up in the poll. I would’ve assumed that if you were going to react to a Superman sequel that it would be Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut. But if that was the pick; then it is what it is.

Christopher

It's the wrong Superman Cassie, this is the 2006 Superman. The one you're looking for is Superman 2 from 1980. 😊

Ib-René Jørgensen

Beat me to it. You're fast this morning.

David Freese

Two out of three of these interest me.

T.J. Gengler

Wrong SUPERMAN film in your header. That's RETURNS, not SUPERMAN II.
