Comments

[Not that I expect anyone to read this at this late date, but it just occurred to me:] Don't you realize that Cassie has to constantly pick up the pillows *because* of a certain madman friend of hers? I imagine it starts getting old! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4I0Awu2VyU&t=212s :-) :-)

Happy Hanukkah

I find Tim Burton to be hit or miss. This one is a “hit”.

Richard Maurer

Reel Big Fish is the band.

John Baldwin

It's like every Tarantino movie - you've got to be in a mood to watch them.

crazyivan

One of my favorite movies, so glad you finally watched it. And it's one guaranteed to make a man cry.

Rick Moreno

I even liked the somewhat fluffy “rom-com with a perspective” he did with Renee Zellweger. Maybe it was called Down with Love?

Marja

Here's an anti- throw pillow rant from the (highly recommended) sitcom Coupling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp0-8Ibkczc

Happy Hanukkah

Precisely what came to my mind. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

"it has definitely wrecked any chance I ever had of becoming a heroin addict" :-) Requiem for a Dream wasn't enough? :-) (I forget what drugs were used in Rush (1991).) (I have yet to watch A Scanner Darkly, but I did read Philip K. Dick's novel, and found the author's afterword (regarding drugs) very affecting.)

👋

Jan Sørensen

Long time no see 😁😁

Björn Karlsson

I think Cassie has seen When Harry Met Sally, but City Slickers and Analyze This are must-sees.

Clarence Newman

Yep, it's a very good movie. But it's not required viewing for Cassie.

Clarence Newman

He has a good show on Apple now apparently. I think Cassie's family watches a lot of Apple Plus, so they may've seen it already. Analyze This could be fun. I've still never seen Deconstructing Harry.

Chris Thom

Trainspotting is definitely one of the classic movies of the 90's. Great soundtrack, too. Actually had the soundtrack before I ever saw the movie. But I'd consider it required viewing. They even let Danny Boyle do the opening ceremony in London.

Chris Thom

Lol. Used to housesit and clean house for my parents wealthier friends, and that addiction to throw pillows is so real. Thought of that scene many, many times.

Chris Thom

The Fisher King! Debatably, the best Robin Williams movie ever made.

Robert Nelson

"I pick up the same 20 pillows every day." OK, if you haven't watched Along Came Polly, you need to watch it now. It's very liberating for people who are chained to the concept of throw pillows. As Ben Stiller, says, "Throw pillows suck. They serve no purpose. They're purely decorative." Go get a steak knife, Cassie. Liberate yourself. Just be careful not to get the mattress too.

Clarence Newman

KANE will happen someday. It's essential viewing, a rite of passage for any movie-lover.

Stick Figure Studios

They say time stops...

Terry Yelmene

Or if you can recall back further SFS... behind the cage... in 'Taxi'

Terry Yelmene

Agree, but if you ever get a chance, do watch the sequel. if you think Robert Carlyle behaves badly in the first one, he is unhinged in the Second!! A barely contained, brooding Volcano!

Mark White

I took a flyer and watched the film today while I was having dinner. You're quite right, Mark - THAT scene is not for Cassie. I mean, we're talking top of the Nope list here. Nor is any film where Roberty Carlyle behaves like that, because it will put her off The Full Monty. And nothing should be allowed to put her off The Full Monty. I mean, I'm glad I watched it, but it has definitely wrecked any chance I ever had of becoming a heroin addict.

Clarence Newman

Cassie, you said at the end “it kinda wants you to romanticise your own life, because I pick up the same 20 pillows…..…”! Hmmmm🤔….I seam to remember this Big Fish story about you being asked by one of the biggest celebrity A listers on the planet! to his premier! Red Capet and all that and meeting him with your sister, both of you looking mega stunning!🤩 I mean that would be just a ridiculous story! 😉🤣 Great reaction again and great movie choice stick.

Mark White

Same!

Mark White

Oh Clarence, Trainspotting what a awesome awesome movie. BUT, I am looking at it with massive nostalgia Goggles on for me! NO, they are most definitely not cuddle junkies! I want to recommend this movie and it’s miss understood sequel, but it’s not for everyone and it’s not a movie I would watch with my sensitive wife! Robert Carlyle (for me) is bloody scary in the second one! Great acting from him. It’s a case of, I want to recommend it, but! By the way, as much as I love this movie, there is one scene in it which makes it absolute NO for Cassie!

Mark White

Told you years ago you would love this. Even gave you the Book.😊

Jan Sørensen

Now, see, that doesn't help, Ivan. Are these fun, cuddly junkies like the stoners in Lock Stock, or the grim kind who make you want to never try drugs?

Clarence Newman

Heroin junkies in Scotland? What's not to disappoint?

crazyivan

No, that was Gheorge Muresan. But as you've mentioned it, we could really do with a Billy Crystal poll.

Clarence Newman

I enjoyed The Island too. Although that might have been because of Scarlett.

Clarence Newman

Me and Wifey were saying just yesterday that we really, really, really need to watch Trainspotting. We've been mentioning it off and on for years but never get round to it. Can someone please tell me it's not going to disappoint us??

Clarence Newman

I haven't seen this yet (either the film or Cassie's reaction to it), but thumbnails like that one always concern me. Cassie's expression either means she's having an "awww" moment or she's wondering how long is left in this clunker of a movie. I will find out soon enough.

Clarence Newman

check out his season of Fargo.

Chester Beals

Here's to those who talk and those who hear.

Happy Hanukkah

Correct

V M

Stick Figure Studios, I wish Citizen Kane has been chosen:P Almost made it

V M

I thought this was the third installment of the Finding Nemo franchise.

V M

Ewan McGregor cementing his place as the go-to actor for playing younger versions of characters played by classic English actors. :-) And again, congrats and thanks to SFS.

Happy Hanukkah

Great kickoff to “tender November” aka #marvember!!!

Marja

Wasn't he in My Giant with Billy Crystal?

Chris Thom

I always underestimate how solid Ewen McGregor is for some reason. He's a legit movie star. Wish he could've stretched a bit more on that Obi Wan show. He deserved better imo.

Chris Thom

My favorite character is Karl. Matthew McGrory, who plays him, is listed in the Guinness Book of Record's as the tallest actor, at 7' 6". Matthew died in 2005 at the age of only 32. He's more remembered for his role as "Tiny" in two horror film's by Rob Zombie. At the start of the end credit's of "The Devil's Rejects", they state, In Memory of Matthew McGrory. R.I.P. Matthew...

Chris Baldwin

Probably in an episode of IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA. ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

In the begining, you are thinking of the band Reel Big Fish. That is my guess.

Matt O'Keefe

Being 65 and having two Cancer's currently in remission, this film kind of gives me a feeling of hope and peace. And where else can you see Danny DeVito's bum??!! LOL

Chris Baldwin

I predict tears...

Jeff Rogers

Edward Bloom; he's just one of those characters that makes the saying reach for the stars seem totally logical

JL_83

Love Big Fish! Btw I find too few people have heard of it but Neverwas (2005) feels spiritually related to this one. Great cast too, Ian McKellen, Brittany Murphy, Nick Nolte and more. Anyway watching this reaction immediately :)
