David

Never seen it, but there's a TON of people online that have listed it as one of the most traumatizing movie experiences of their childhood. Been mentioned a lot on other channels and comments under Cassie and Carly's podcast.

Chris Thom

Mostly movies and stuff, Ben. but they have such a good rapport, it generally wanders into the realms of "whatever". I think that makes for a good podcast, personally. Have a couple of bullet points to get started, but then let the conversation go where it goes. As someone else has already mentioned, it's Cassie and Carly we're there for, so it doesn't matter much what they discuss.

Clarence Newman

What do they talk about on the podcast? Just whatever?

Ben Schwartz

I don't see it on her list, Chris.

Clarence Newman

I'm assuming we'll be getting back into the last three Star Trek TNG movies sometime in November and December as well. Maybe hit the three reboot (Kelvin Timeline) movies after the new year?

D. T. Nelson

In Canada Rembrance Day the 11 th as you know and you got American Thanksgiving. So how about War Movies and if you want throw in some Pilgrims.

Tim C

Hasn't Cassie already seen Who Framed? If not, I agree its a must!

Chris Clarke

If you guys are throwing out rabbit movies, then I'm voting for Jessica!

Clarence Newman

How about "Night of the Lepus" (1972). 😆

Joe

Are we picking next year's halloween movies already? Fright Night and Urban Legend!!!!!!!!

V M

you forgot a winking emoji after occasional lol

Gray

Yes, Chuck, I caught "Fury Road" on HBO one night, from about half an hour in (when the girls first unshackle Max) and watched it until there was about half an hour left before turning it off; I was that uninvested in the story. There was no sense to me that Max was the same character as in the first 3 movies. And Tom Hardy frankly looked bored. I view it as more of an in-universe spinoff than a proper sequel to the first 3 movies.

Byrd N. Hand

@Chuck - agree 100%.

Richard Maurer

@Byrd - Yeah I agree with the Mad Max Trilogy. Unpopular opinion I kinda think Fury Road is a little overrated personally. I'll take the original trilogy over it anyday.

Chuck Schuldiner

@Biggman83 - Yeah I have to agree for the most part very disappointing October this year for me personally (probably the most disappointing one yet). Started off fine with The Frighteners and then it seemed like nothing but action, thriller and superhero movies with very mild horror themes (Underworld, Blade, Constantine and The Village). Even though I personally don't mind The Village and actually enjoyed The Blade reaction - the other 2 are action/superhero movies and are very very tame for October. Another one that I did not care for (unpopular opinion) was the Haunting of Hill House. Recently finished it and honestly it was more of a family drama show than a horror tv show. Kinda don't get the hype around this show (most of it was boring AF) - Are you Afraid of the Dark? and the Goosebumps tv shows from the 90s were more centered around the Horror genre than Hill House was. But yeah I agree the trick poll should not contain anymore superhero/action/mystery/thriller films that are definitely NOT Horror films in any way shape or form.

Chuck Schuldiner

Watership Down for next October! It's just been upgraded to 4k. Cassie, treat it a bit like Lord of The Rings: a masterpiece with the occasional scary scene. 🐰🐰

Chris Clarke

Agreed, but LOTR is an extreme exception where more is still not enough!

Clarence Newman

@Brent: Yes, there would definitely be some overlap.

Stick Figure Studios

@Byrd: Interesting because I consider BIG FISH and ED WOOD as maybe his two best films. After that, I love PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE, BEETLEJUICE, both BATMAN movies, EDWARDS SCISSORHANDS, SLEEPY HOLLOW and SWEENEY TODD. His PLANET OF THE APES remake is definitely near the bottom, but I'd still rather watch it again than DUMBO, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY or MARS ATTACKS.

Stick Figure Studios

Ben is like the shark in Jaws. You don't see much of him, but whenever he appears, Cassie jumps out of her skin.

Clarence Newman

🙄

inspectordh

LotR extended cuts are the best examples of doing it right . They don’t change the theatrical cuts significantly, just enhance them.

Richard Maurer

I thought he was a time traveling Bill Paxton.

Richard Maurer

I honestly would love to see Ben on the channel. I bet Ben and Cassie make quite the duo/double act. Now they have the podcast, maybe Ben could make a guest appearance on Popcorn to go?!

Mark White

@Richard, at this time there is insufficient evidence to go to a grand jury.😆

Joe

@ Clarence - I think with the “ringers” thing the implication is not necessarily that Cassie wants to watch the “ringers” but to avoid other films winning. As I said earlier I really doubt this is actually true, but some of the trick polls, with Blade and Constantine on them, seemed suspicious.

Richard Maurer

It also often depends which version you see first, Byrd. I've never been a Star Wars fan, but I'm sure if I'd seen the "improved", CGI'd-up version first, it would be hard to accept the original.

Clarence Newman

Granted, Clarence, many of these director's cuts are a result of studio meddling -- i.e. a result of studio heads insisting that directors 'dumb down' their film for the broadest appeal possible (which very rarely works). Ridley Scott is probably the most prominent example of this, given "Blade Runner," "Legend," and "Kingdom of Heaven" (of course, his director's cut of "Alien" isn't really a director's cut in the traditional sense, in that it's not meant to usurp the original theatrical cut, but rather serve as an 'alternate take,' so to speak). Of course, there are also some instances where the original theatrical cut just didn't quite reach the filmmaker's vision due to technological restrictions at the time, i.e. the original Star Wars trilogy and Spielberg's "Close Encounters" and "E.T." While I acknowledge there were some genuine improvements made in both cases, I also acknowledge that some alterations were unnecessary.

Byrd N. Hand

I like "Big Fish," but I'd ultimately consider it one of Tim Burton's more mid-range films. I like it more than "Ed Wood," though, which I consider his most incredibly overrated film. I mean, "Ed Wood" is good, but far from his best work, as so many seem to think. 🤷‍♂️ His "Planet of the Apes" remake will likely always be his weakest, though. I'd ask for "Batman Returns," but, given how much Cassie and Carly didn't like the first one, it's probably not going to happen... in which case "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" is my top Burton request for Cassie to watch.

Byrd N. Hand

There would be some crossover I bet.

Brent Petty

Looking forward to it. I agree too - if I were to do a list of Greatest Films Ever and a second one with My All-Time Favourites, they would be two very different lists.

Clarence Newman

I've used a bit of AI software to remove the heart from the picture Cassie posted and uncover the face of her hubby. I can finally reveal that Cassie is married to Tony Romo.

Clarence Newman

I'm not a great one for alternate versions of movies - Director's cuts and such. First of all, it's the theatrical version I watch first and therefore fall in love with (if I like it, of course), and it messes with my sense of feng shui when I then watch a version that's different. Mostly I don't mind, especially if I haven't seen the film, but there are two examples that really bug me. One - The Cincinnati Kid (1965) - my favourite Steve McQueen film. I won't spoil it because I hope Cassie watches that one eventually, but there are two endings to that film - one that ends on a freeze frame and one that carries on a few seconds longer. That may not sound like much, but for me, those few seconds totally ruin the ending of the film. The director wanted the freeze frame, but was overruled by his nimrod of a producer. Fortunately, both versions are out there and I have the right one. The other example doesn't concern a director's cut, but it is a changed premise that has always bugged me when I watch the film. Why oh why Quentin Tarantino saw fit to use two different takes of the "If any of you pricks move" speech in the two coffee shop scenes in Pulp Fiction is beyond me. When Honeybunny gets the line wrong the second time, something inside me always screams "That's not what she saaaaaaiiiiiidd!" Basically, I'm a traditionalist. Give me the theatrical version every time, unless (LOTR) there's a VERY good reason to watch the Director's Cut.

Clarence Newman

I love COOL HAND LUKE too (and I just introduced my 11-year-old niece to it this past weekend). I don't know that I would say BIG FISH is as iconic a film as LUKE is, but it probably resonates with me more in a very personal way. Hence, my characterizing it as one of my favorites rather than "one of the greatest films ever made," but it is a gem -- arguably Tin Burton's best -- and most of the people I talk to who know about it love it. I hope you like it too.

Stick Figure Studios

Your reputation's on the line here, Stick. I haven't seen Big Fish, but you picked it so I have high expectations. My equivalent would be Cool Hand Luke with Paul Newman (1967).

Clarence Newman

That's the one, Clarence.

Byrd N. Hand

Yes, finally, another movie that genuinely appeals to me -- something Cassie hasn't watched since her double whammy of "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood." 😕

Byrd N. Hand

Yeah, Chris, I don't know why she didn't just watch "Revolutions" shortly after "Reloaded" -- especially given its cliffhanger ending. But I'm sure she'll re-watch that one (if not also the first one) on her own time if she needs a refresher. As for "Superman II," in a perfect world, she'd watch both versions of it, but it's likely just going to be one, in which case I'd go with the theatrical cut by a hair -- mostly because I feel it handles 2 crucial story elements better than the Donner cut, one of which regards how it ends.

Byrd N. Hand

Clarence: by "Superman II", do you mean The Richard Donner Cut? Or the theatrical version? Gotta go with the Donner cut.

bgb1975

I wonder if Matrix 3 would make sense to her. It's been so long since she saw the first two. But I agree, she needs to finish those. And Hannibal, too.

Chris Thom

It's on the channel if you haven't seen it yet. Nine months ago or so?

Chris Thom

😂😂you do make me laugh Clarence🤣 Yeah I could do with a bit of trek right now. It’s been a tough few weeks and I find Cassie’s trek reactions pure escapism.

Mark White

I’m on board with the sequels! But as Clarence said, Lock Stock not a sequel, but the First and for me the best of those movies. Which includes RocknRolla. Cassie, you got to watch Lock stock and two smoking barrels, for me it’s better than Snatch! And snatch is a good movie. Also RocknRolla got some big and familiar names in there, including Gerard Butler, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.

Mark White

I havent seen it. But it's based from a book with the same name from 1956 🙂

Björn Karlsson

It's one of my favorite films.

Stick Figure Studios

She did get it requested a TON this year.

Chris Thom

They both would.

Brent Petty

Big Fish is really good.

Brent Petty

Me too.

Stick Figure Studios

I think she would love that movie.

Stick Figure Studios

Looked fantastic in that costume

Chuck M

And, while it is a bit of a mystery/suspence/sci-fi, I dare say Cassie would call FREQUENCY tender. Perhaps it time to finally watch that one.

Seymor Butz

Yeah, so excited for Big Fish

Seymor Butz

@Mike - Cookies you say? well all I have to say is; no more Star Trek ever!

Richard Maurer

I missed "Magic" on your list, Byrd. The Anthony Hopkins one, yes? That is a really creepy film!

Clarence Newman

You need to watch The Champ, guys (1979). It will literally make you retain water. I've watched it a dozen times and I'm sure that's why I can multi-task.

Clarence Newman

Happy trails anyway, mate.

Clarence Newman

I just liked my own post, though. That'll help.

Clarence Newman

Richard. I do struggle to hold my own when Mike starts complaining about Star Trek. I always end up feeling like Jim Carrey in Liar Liar: "There's too much bloody Star Trek!" "I object, your Honour!" "Why?" "Because it's devastating to my case!"

Clarence Newman

@Richard - Come on over, we have cookies.

Mike Lemon

@ Bjorn - just watched a Swedish sci-fi movie called Anihara, have you seen it, and what did you think? I liked it quite a bit personally.

Richard Maurer

You know, I’ve been fairly supportive of the Star Trek fans but you’re starting to push me over to Mikes side ;-)

Richard Maurer

I personally did pick it for her... Well, along with four others. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Exactly. An eternity!

Clarence Newman

I know Cassie watched Young Frankenstein, I was just mentioning it as a great Terri Garr performance.

Richard Maurer

It's a problem that Cassie just doesn't like horror. I wonder if it might be better just skipping the seasonal movies altogether and run a regular schedule rather than shoehorning sub-par movies trying to fill the October space

Neighbourhood Watch Alliance

+1 for the Mad Max trilogy.

Richard Maurer

A month wait for Star Trek fans, a year for horror fans.

Richard Maurer

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS Is the Tim Burton film that she's liked the most so far (BEETLEJUICE and SLEEPY HOLLOW were pretty mixed). I think she would also like ED WOOD, but I'm of the opinion there's a couple classic movies she should see first to really appreciate that one.

Stick Figure Studios

The Omen's a definite no. No idea about the others.

Clarence Newman

I am not averse.

Clarence Newman

Thanks for the clarification, Mike, but your take on ignoring the original Mad Max and going straight to Road Warrior....is WELL cheating! You're right in one way, because Mad Max 2 is a great film on its own, but we can't ignore the original. (Just please not the version they dubbed in American.)

Clarence Newman

Her and Carly watching the remaining 11 James Bond movies would be nice, too.

Byrd N. Hand

I feel there are still plenty of titles from the late '60s through the mid-'80s that will sufficiently freak Cassie out that she hasn't said 'absolutely NOT' to yet, such as George A. Romero's "Living Dead" movies, Roman Polanski's 'Apartment' trilogy ("Repulsion," "Rosemary's Baby," and "The Tenant") "The Other," "The Possession of Joel Delaney," "Sisters," "Theater of Blood," "The Legend of Hell House," "Don't Look Now," "The Wicker Man," "The Omen," "Suspiria," "Martin," "Magic," "The Fog," and "The Howling," for starters.

Byrd N. Hand

I don't understand the need for "ringers" in polls. It suggests they're put in there because Cassie wants to watch them anyway, and if that's the case....why not watch them anyway??

Clarence Newman

Yes to the original Mad Maxes, Byrd. Very tentatively yes to Hannibal and Red Dragon (they're so good but will make Cassie squirm for 2 hours) and definitely yes to T3.

Clarence Newman

I cannot express how excited I am to see your reaction to "Big Fish", if I could have personally picked one movie for you, that would have been the one. Can't wait!

Ren McG

She needs to *finally* finish the "Matrix" trilogy as well (no need to mention the fourth one). I'd also like her to finally watch the original "Mad Max" trilogy, as well as continue on with Hannibal Lecter with "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" (as with Matrix 4, screw "Hannibal Rising"). I also have a soft spot for "Terminator 3."

Byrd N. Hand

Older, less scary horror fare may indeed be the best (and only) road ahead for her. She can't up the ante anymore, and many highly requested films remain on her never-to-be watched list.

Joe

Overall I agree with most of what has been said in the replies to my post, with a few minor differences not worth going into. In regards to what Clarence said, I have to admit some slight satisfaction that after so recently being called a whiner for complaining about the Halloween polls, I see people complaining about the very same thing in the Tender polls. It made voting for Coming to America just a little bit sweeter. I mean I really used my normal voting procedure which is to vote for the movie I liked best in the poll, but hey, the irony made it an even easier pick. That being said I do also feel some empathy for the people who are against it winning ( see, we horror fans can feel empathy). This problem with the wrong films being polls has been going on for awhile, and doesn’t seem to be changing. Some people have put forth theories that this is intentional, that “ringers” are put into polls to affect the outcome. I certainly hope this isn’t the case, and I doubt it’s true, at least in most cases. I think it’s more likely to be a lack of either knowledge or effort on the part of whoever is choosing the poll choices. But due to how often this happens I can see where people might think it’s a product of concerted efforts to affect the outcome of the polls.

Richard Maurer

You're in luck, Bjorn. Star Trek: First Contact contains a race called the Borg, which, when combined with your first name, could not be more Swedish.

Clarence Newman

Last time Cassie did a swedish movie is like never...🙄

Björn Karlsson

Haha. The Overboard cos play is epic! Great film! It's probably my favorite romantic comedy aside from Crazy Stupid Love.

Author Travis Adams Irish

Yes I"m hitting myself this morning. I could have been one of the first thousand subscribers last night. A missed chance. But I am one of the second thousand subscribers this morning!

Mike LL

Michael! It's been over a month. Therefore a month and a week. And counting. It's cruel and unusual punishment!

Clarence Newman

Sequel time! A Shot In The Dark (Cassie really needs to see a fully unleashed Clouseau) Jaws 2 (better than it's given credit for, plus annoying teenagers get eaten, so it's well fun) Superman 2 (really solid sequel. Far better than the first) Rambo 2 (I don't think Cassie would love it, but it's too iconic to miss) Crocodile Dundee 2 (Cassie and Carly owe us this big time, though the general consensus is that they're keeping it for Australia Day. We WILL take it earlier if they insist) The Godfather 3 (it's not as good as the first two, but Pacino is collossal as a world-weary Michael Corleone) Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (not a sequel to Snatch, but she started with the sequel, so come ahhhhhhhnnn!)

Clarence Newman

@Clarence - Zatoichi and Road Warrior are stand alone sequels to movies not on the channel (all the Zatoichis are about the same and Road Warrior is barely connected to Mad Max), and Bride of Frankenstein is a good movie in a barely served genre. All were picked for variety without falling into the "we must watch every boring movie in franchise because...reasons" nonsense. Viva variety! edit- "Plus, Cassie would need to watch the original Mad Max before she can watch the superior sequel." No she doesn't. Most of Americans over 35ish (40?) didn't even know of Mad Max before they saw Road Warrior. The first movie has no effect on the second.

Mike Lemon

Yes, Heaven forbid they have to wait a week. Everything must bow to their wants.

Mike Lemon

It's funny. I've never seen Big Fish and don't know anything about it, but I'm excited to see the reaction because people are saying Cassie will love it.

Clarence Newman

That's a confusing list, Mike. You're clearly joking about Leonard, but isn't Bride of Frankenstein a good movie? It's making me wonder if Zatoichi is really good or really bad. Plus, Cassie would need to watch the original Mad Max before she can watch the superior sequel. You know this already, but I am currently confused.

Clarence Newman

She won't be watching Nosferatu in December, Mark, not after the ride she's had this October, and unfortunately, there's a second obstacle. One is the fact that it's a very well-done and scary movie, and two, it's a silent, which she has shown zero interest in so far. If we can get Cassie to break through her current barrier of 1930 and dip her toe in a couple of silents (Buster Keaton and Laurel & Hardy to begin with), I think Nosferatu would naturally follow.

Clarence Newman

This seems to be a popular opinion in regard to polls in general. We all have movies on our lists and most of them fall into specific genres. So when a poll comes up that is clearly genre/era/ambience specific (Tender November being a perfect example of ambience), it can be frustrating when a spot on that list is taken by something that doesn't belong there. I love Coming To America as a movie, but it doesn't really belong on a Tender poll. I would have replaced it with Lost In Translation or Cocktail and put Coming To America on a Comedy poll instead. The Trick or Treat polls should have been clearly separated - your Saws, Blair Witches, Flys and Its on the Trick, your Blades, Underworlds and Death Becomes Her on the Treat. That would make more sense. I don't have too much of a problem with the content of polls myself; as long as there are good movies on there, I'm happy. But surely it wouldn't take too much effort to ensure that every movie on the list actually belongs there.

Clarence Newman

Richard, I second your sentiments. On a side note, I grew weary of hearing some of the detractors claiming that they had “empathy” and so were unable to enjoy horror films. As if those that enjoy horror movies were sociopaths that lacked empathy. It’s a very passive-aggressive form of virtue signaling. “I guess I just don’t like horror films because I’m such a good person.”

Just Plain Bob

Heads up for Cassie re the continued wait for Star Trek: First Contact. The way your Trekkies are feeling right now is very similar to how Spock was feeling while under the influence of the Pon Farr. We beseech theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Clarence Newman

Been a great month for movies! Happy to return to calmer films next month.

YodatheHobbit

From the movie Overboard.

Shawn Kildal

This was a disappointing Oct, I’d say it’s the worst on record. Trick polls need to be made up of consistent horror movies of different genres from different decades. Not saying cassie must watch the Terrifier movies. But embracing being scared or shocked by horror movies is freeing and you learn to enjoy them for what they are. It also doesn’t make us bad people for enjoying them. I get that Horror has stigmatism attached to it. It’s unfortunately a victim of religious intervention telling us it’s wrong to watch, but it’s also what has driven the studios marketing campaigns for decades, it only has itself to blame for the bad rep and some terrible movies searching for headlines. A good horror movie is as good as riding the best rollercoasters. GIVE HORROR A CHANCE!

Biggman83

I keep checking for Star Trek First Contact. Hope it's coming soon.

Peter Rising

I had no idea

V M

Richard, I completely agree with you about the Treat poll including older films. The Universal Monsters, the Val Lewton thrillers, and various 50's monster films would be appropriate. My wish list remains to be Nosferatu, The Ring, Night of the Living Dead, and The Blair Witch Project. Overall, it was an average-to-above average October. There are still plenty of good horror movies for Cassie to watch.

Mark Vaderr

That is a great couples costume idea, you look great! 😂🙌🏻🥳 You're a great Goldie Hawn, one could say you went a bit Overboard...😅🙈

silverarrow06

If you listen to the podcast you will hear that she is definitely not Trekked out. It will be soon

Cole Jennett

Move over Joe Rogan. Cassie and Carly have the mic now.

Shad Kanyak

This was a truly disappointing October for me from pretty much all of my favorite reactors. 🙎‍♂️ Overall, too many damn titles from more recent years for my tastes. I'd definitely like to see a better balance struck between newer and older horror films. Ideally, I'd divide them into categories of *21st century*/*late '60s through the end of the 20th century* (when movies started getting legitimately scary by today's standards, IMO)/*pre-late '60s.*

Byrd N. Hand

Not when it was first served!

Happy Hanukkah

Well, I'm very surprised 'Star Trek: First Contact' still not coming down the pike, it'll be 30 days tomorrow since 'Star Trek Generations', either she's all Star Trekked out or she's wants to take her time getting to the remaining movies.

JPDotCom23

It is. The Battle for Zion. 😁

Zane From Canada

Yea that reaction was a little mixed. That's why I worded my post the way I did. Cassie is sure to love this movie.

KTVindicare

And you aint the only one. :D

KTVindicare

I figured out the pictures. Goldie and Kurt.

Shawn Kildal

If that's the moon battle one she's in for a real treat.

Chris Thom

Carly In Charge could be fun. For an 80's throwback vibe.

Chris Thom

I see an upcoming Christmas movie! And Black Christmas for New Years.

Chris Thom

I think he was actually her step dad. But he raised her.

Chris Thom

And yes I know Kurt is not her bio dad!

David Patterson

Yes the BOTH of them together make Kate Hudson.

David Patterson

lol, then I am the most real of all😂

Cole Jennett

That’s not super helpful “after” they made the change away from it. I think it was a good change.

Cole Jennett

Since October is almost over and some here are writing it off already, I’d like to say a few things that I (and likely other horror fans) would like to see next year. This isn’t meant to be combative or “whining”as some of our detractors are fond of saying, but instead is meant to be a constructive critique of this year’s Halloween month. If we continue Trick and Treat polls or some variation of them I would hope the Trick polls would consist of real horror films and not action or comedies standing in for them. They don’t have to be the scariest ones, just real ones. As for the Treat polls I don’t really care much what goes in them as they’re mostly irrelevant to me. But it would be nice if one the polls were older horror films - pre-80’s - as most of these films are not really scary.

Richard Maurer

Overboard

Neil Varma

who is Cassie supposed to be?

V M

Matrix revolutions is generally panned, matrix 2 and 3 shouldve been combined into one good movie.

V M

Alas, Nosferatu will have to wait another year. Unless Cassie chooses to watch it in December before the re-make arrives. Onward and Upward. Cassie, when does The Planet of the Apes series reacting begin?

Mark Vaderr

cassie, despite being a big fan of yours, i was very skeptical of the podcast and how the success of teh rxn channel would translate to a dialogue-based medium. i just finished all 4 original episodes and I am very impressed! i was thoroughly entertained. the charm and personality shines through. I wish you and car all teh best iwth this! you guys are so fun and funny.

Augustine Lee

Close. Kate Hudson's mom Goldie.

Chris Thom

Yes! We changed it last minute :)

Cassie

As for the costumes, the 2 of you are either Santa and Mrs. Claus or... Kate Hudson.

David Patterson

was teh podcast originally supposed to be called popcorn after bed?

Augustine Lee

Cassie went down for the count this month, next year....only Hallmark Horror.😆

Joe

Love the costume

Neil Varma

Why is Dr. McCoy covered in food?

David Patterson

Real men also cry.

Stick Figure Studios

Ah yes, Tender November.....I can feel my cojones shrinking. 😆

Joe

Thanks Katie! Based on your list, you would every single one of the other movies on my list. Keeping my fingers crossed that at least some of the movies on both lists end up in a poll or as Popcorn Picks of the Month.

Dan M

Whew! Man…my mind immediately went to a dark place. So sorry if I jumped to conclusions. Well, sorry to hear you’re letting your membership expire. Maybe you can come back in the near future. It’s getting pretty exciting here now that Cassie and Carly have started their podcast.

Dan M

Is Ben dressed as Mrballen?... IS Ben MrBallen?

Kyle

I’m looking forward to the Duck. It is almost Christmas you know. Chinese Turkey anyone?

Larry Darrell

Yep. He was a cool guy. In High School he got me into classic rock because, when his brother went off to college, Matt sold his music collection to us fellow students. lol We'd see each other around town often after high school. He was a bouncer at a local bar. He was good at diffusing trouble as you can imagine.

Mike Gallagher

HaHa....that's an awesome costume idea 🎃

Johnny Salinas

RIP. Mr. Mom. That's the one. Immediately what I think of when I see her photo.

Chris Thom

Happy Halloween! Skelly needs some meat on his bones. Har har. Thanks for indulging us this month...very thoughtful of you.

Chris Thom

@Katie, @Dan, You guys are just loving this aren't you? I need to lie down. 😆

Joe

Awe I always dug Anne Heche. RIP. She seemed really bright and creative...and underrated. She and Harrison were weirdly great together.

Chris Thom

You can always come back whenever. Or when you have the cash (i know this online stuff adds up pretty quick over time). And YouTube chats are always free and super fun. Happy October! Aloha! And aloha again when you return!

Chris Thom

Yeah I got that way wrong too. Whoops.

Chris Thom

She did seem to like Edward Scissorhands. Was a bit hard to tell though.

Chris Thom

Yeah perfect one for Carly to join. Not sure, but think they both may love it.

Chris Thom

Yeah it was. You have to come here to Patreon first and get the link. It's still there if you want to see it.

Chris Thom

Man, that appetizer spread looks a little...Bare Bones!!! Happy early Halloween everyone!

Ian A

The Duck abides! Gonna be an entertaining reaction, what more can I ask?

Joe

Awesome costume!

Jerrod Acree

yeah too bad she's still stuck in the rom com selection polls

Rene G.

SUPERMAN 3 is several good ideas / scenes / characters in search of a movie.

Stick Figure Studios

That's weird, her schedule of watch-along of cabin in the woods in the old post was supposed to be Sunday october 27 yet it's never posted on youtube.

Rene G.

It's bad enough Cassie's going to have to watch HOWARD THE DUCK. Let's not also subject her to LEONARD.

Stick Figure Studios

Ditto...Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Louisa Moritz

Looking forward to their podcasts!

Frank Edwards

Done! Thanks

David Bockly

They def could've watched Friday the 13th first at least. Last year would've been perfect for that. Actual Friday the 13th before Halloween.

About equal to Death Race 2000

Ike

Overboard! That was such a great movie - you guys are the first I’ve seen dressed as them for Halloween. Perfect idea!

Ike

Getting us one step closer to the masterpiece that is Superman 3. Aw yiss.

mikethemotormouth

@Larry - I didn't even attempt that one after I heard how bad it is.

Mike Lemon

Nope. Gigli (2003). I snuck into that one after seeing another film at the theater. I think the fact that I chose to spend 2 free hours at the theater watching that, made it WAY worse. If that was even possible. Worst gamble ever. Worst film ever. (Sorry Martin Brest… hope to see you come back one day ;-)

Larry Darrell

It's not the worst I've seen (Nail Gun Massacre) though it is pretty bad, but I like it for some reason.

Mike Lemon

You know the toughest part of that pic was her trying to keep a straight face

Naturekitty5309

Cabin in the woods got nothing on EVil Dead trilogy. That's the movie that started it all. but ok whatever. I hate October ending cos it's back to boring-ass movies in november.. Everyday is Halloween for horror fans. We go mental in october

Rene G.

My comment wasn't intended to be dark or anything lol. I decided a few weeks ago that I would let my membership with Cassie's Patreon expire at the end of the month. That's why I had been debating whether I should say something "publicly" or not. I appreciate the concerns though.

Mario

LEONARD PART 6 is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Actually went to the theater for that one as a kid

Stick Figure Studios

This comment sounds kinda dark. I hope you are doing ok man.

Alex Gorell

Ahhhh!!!...sequels. Fine, how about Leonard part 6 (1987) or Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo (1970) or The Road Warrior (1981) or Bride of Frankenstein (1935). OK, Leonard isn't a sequel, but it is named "part 6" so...?

Mike Lemon

I forgot Indian Summer this time. I love Seven Brides For Seven Brothers but I haven't seen the rest. BTW, you can always ride my coat tails😂

Katie Jackson

It was a popular choice... which pleases me.

Stick Figure Studios

I actually sent a Blu-ray of that one to Cassie a couple years ago.

Stick Figure Studios

I'd love it if Carly joined her for that one.

Stick Figure Studios

Yes, she did. She enjoyed it.

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, they're not easy. A lot of luck is involved though. Before this last one, I've placed as high as 2nd and as low as 20th. You just never know.

Stick Figure Studios

The 'Big Fish' react id going to be wonderful - (hoping Carly's along for that one).

Terry Yelmene

I was remiss in not remembering to thank you for that pick.

Happy Hanukkah

I hope you like it.

Stick Figure Studios

I’ve never seen it Stick, but I’m looking forward to seeing it for the first time here. Congrats again on your win.

Dan M

I’d hope so since you picked it😂

Shehab Dawoud

I said it before and I’ll say it again…great list Katie. And once again, I hope you don’t mind me riding your coat tails, but so many of your suggestions are on my Tender November list. I’d just like to add in a few more. -She’s Having a Baby - Chances Are - Tootise - Heaven Can Wait - Seven Brides for Seven Brothers - He Said, She Said - Regarding Henry And since you recommended last Upcoming but didn’t put it on your list this time, I’m going to add it for you…Indian Summer (it looks really good, and I plan on watching it some time this week).

Dan M

Oh yeah, let's not forget that one.

Zane From Canada

I still want her to watch SUPERMAN 2 (the theatrical version).

Stick Figure Studios

I would have been fine with that too. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

I've been saying this for a long time. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Has she not already done Young Frankenstein? 🤔

mikethemotormouth

😂

Jeff Rogers

That Is one nutty hospital.

Stick Figure Studios

Thanks for the reply! I think it's a skill in itself to win that trivia poll, the last time I took part, I finished in 65th place!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Yes Big Fish! Finally a Tim Burton movie that Cassie is absolutely sure to love.

KTVindicare

Damn, I was hoping you’d pick ‘Midnight Run’ from Stick’s recommendations. It would’ve been a great one after October. It’s Planes, Trains, and Automobiles-esque.

Shehab Dawoud

Not sure if it’s my place to say anything, but your post seems very sad and distraught. Hope everything is okay.

Dan M

Young Frankenstein too.

Richard Maurer

Sweet. A sequel poll. Grumpier Old Men would be a perfect choice for the Tender November theme. Blade 2 would be a great one but Scary But Not Too Scary has come and gone. Matrix Revolutions would be ideal. That one's very long overdue. US Marshals would be a good one. An unofficial sequel to The Fugitive centered on Tommy Lee Jones' character and his squad. Also starring Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr. A Shot In The Dark. Sequel to The Pink Panther. You will laugh your A$$ off. Crocodile Dundee 2. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Batman Returns. Predator 2. Alien 3. (Personal picks. Opinions will vary).

Zane From Canada

I could be misremembering, but I believe she did actually ask me in an email If there was one I preferred and I had to say honestly that there was not. They're all among my favorite movies and titles that I would love to see a reaction to, so I couldn't possibly choose just one. I told her I'd be fine if she opted to just pick one herself or she could put them in a poll If she wanted (although I suspected recently bias would probably help BIG FISH come in first there anyway). It's all a win/win for me.

Stick Figure Studios

Awesome costumes Cassie! Really well done! But I would have bet one months mortgage that you and Ben were going to go as Baby and Johnny from Dirty Dancing. Maybe next year. Congrats on the launch of Popcorn to Go! Can’t wait to check it out! The PIB brand continues to grow!

Dan M

Costume looks great, but your personality fits closer to Goldie Hawn later in the movie,

Clayton Johnson

I debated on whether to say something or not but it ultimately kind of felt weird to leave a community after a few years without some kind of farewell (even if no one notices or cares). I may not have always agreed with others take here, but I did enjoy the conversations that have been had (regardless whether I was part of those conversations or not). I wish you all well in the upcoming holidays and beyond. Good night and goodbye. -Mario

Mario

Oh my gosh…rest in piece Teri Garr. What a huge loss. Such a talented actress. Cassie has seen Close Encounters, but I’m all for Tootsie and Mr.Mom. Tootsie was on my list of suggestions for Tender November.

Dan M

Hey Cassie, hope the rest of your October is fun and stress free. Some suggestions for November Polls: *Six Days, Seven Nights (Harrison Ford) *The Secret Of My Success (Michael J. Fox) *One Fine Day (George Clooney) *The Majestic (Jim Carrey) *Kate & Leopold (Hugh Jackman & Meg Ryan) *Cocktail (Tom Cruise) *Where The Heart Is (Natalie Portman) *Nine Months (Robin Williams, Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore) *Love Potion No. 9 (Sandra Bullock) *The Truth About Cats & Dogs (Uma Thurman) *Bed Of Roses (Christian Slater) *Look Who's Talking (John Travolta & Kirstie Alley) *Now and Then (Christina Ricci, Demi Moore, Rita Wilson, Melanie Griffith) *Yours, Mine and Ours (Lucille Ball) *South Pacific *Three Men and a Little Lady (same cast) *Flashdance *Some Kind Of Wonderful (80's Romance) *Indian Summer (Bill Paxton, Diane Lane, Alan Arkin, Elisabeth Perkins) (late entry Recommendation) It's a large list but I hope it helps with some ideas

Katie Jackson

It's a really wonderful movie.

Jeff Rogers

Question: if Cassie had asked you to pick the one movie from your chosen five movies, would you have chosen Big Fish (2004)? Or one of the other four?

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I am also looking forward to BIG FISH (obviously).

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, I mentioned that in my comment as well. Whether they be tears of joy or tears of sadness (or possibly both), tissues will definitely handy during a viewing of BIG FISH.

Stick Figure Studios

Great costumes! That's was a good movie too. Happy Halloween! 👻🎃

clutchkman

Tootsie!!

Mike LL

Cassie will so love Big Fish. She better bring tissues.

Tomt39

Continues patiently waiting for First Contact.

Verteron

MR. MOM would be good, but I've been hoping for a TOOTSIE reaction for years.

Stick Figure Studios

That's a great costume choice, you pull off Goldie well, however I think her early on mean spirited attitude might be hard for you to pull off. Cannot wait for the finish of Hill House and to see how you felt about it at the end.

JohnnyUtah

You knew Karl??? :-O

Stick Figure Studios

Love this news! Joined!!

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I agree. I'm tempted to call it Tim Burton's best movie (although ED WOOD is another contender). I love it and have suspected for a while that Cassie would too. Hence my submitting it. I'm pleased that she chose it (although, honestly, would have been fine with whichever one she picked).

Stick Figure Studios

"Not one of them knew who we were." I can't blame them, if Ben completely covers his face with a huge heart! I'm looking forward to Big Fish. Good luck with the podcast. "Hey guys, how you hanging? Me? by a thread" Here's your fellow Canuck Norm Macdonald's classic moth joke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJN9mBRX3uo

Happy Hanukkah

I'm glad at least one of us has had a good October, work has been kicking my butt this entire month, I couldn't even finish enjoying my tradition of watching one horror movie per day like I do every October, that's how out of it I was! If there is anything positive that did come out of this month, it would be my attending to Son of Monsterpalooza and your reactions to Underworld and Blade! I'm so bummed you didn't get to react to Van Helsing, oh well, there's always next year or anytime rather! Van Helsing, like The Mummy, is one of those movies you can enjoy anytime of the year, I just choose Halloween because it's appropriate for the season lol! On Halloween night, I will be watching your reaction to one of my favorite horror movies, Sleepy Hollow lol! Nice costume Cassie, you nailed that look from Overboard, Goldie Hawn has got nothing on you lol 😁🥰 I'm guessing Ben is Kurt Russell's character, I can't remember the name lol! Hope you have a great week and a fun and safe Halloween coming up! Love and support always, you and Carly are the best, and God bless y'all and the family 🥰😇🙏😁🤗😉👍✌️🌹

Wesley White

Thanks. :-) Obviously I'm looking forward to it too and have been for a long time.

Stick Figure Studios

Great minds...and all that. 😎

R F.

I'm pretty certain you'll love Big Fish (2004), I saw that film when it was first released in 2004. I always thought it to be one of Tim Burton's best films. Please watch Ed Wood (1994) one day!!!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Me too.

Stick Figure Studios

I saw it in the theater with my dad and we both loved it immediately (he did especially because -- without giving anything away -- the penultimate scene basically happened to him when he was in his twenties). I've only grown more fond of it over the years. I think it is quite possibly Tim Burton's best film.

Stick Figure Studios

Big Fish will be a cool watch. I graduated high school with Matt McGrory who played Karl the (no spoilers).

Mike Gallagher

Seconding Mr Mom

mikethemotormouth

Haha I was about to post this 😂

Randy

In one of your horror polls (Trick poll on September 30th) you listed Invasion of the Body Snatchers and listed the year as 2000. It was pointed out repeatedly in the comments that no such movie existed from 2000, and since there are a couple versions of a movie with that title from other years (1956 and 1978), people were confused and didn't vote for it. But in those comments I saw people say repeatedly that you had announced you were going to watch the 1978 version already so nobody should worry about it. What happened with that? I and many others would have voted for the 1978 version of that movie if that was what you meant when you put it in the poll. I feel like it should be put back in future polls if that's what the error was.

Stranger2Reality

I wasn't there for the live watchalong, but I'm guessing you probably didn't enjoy CABIN IN THE WOODS much. I think it's a very smart, very clever and at times very funny satirical horror movie myself, but I suspect you were so invested in the outcome of the poor innocent teens' plight that the self-aware digs at the scary movie tropes (much like SCREAM) wasn't much fun for you. Plus, that ending! On the one hand it's a very bold, provocative and darkly humorous one, but I could see you being very dissatisfied with it. I'm honestly surprised it won the poll. It's worth seeing, but I personally wouldn't have picked it for you. Anyway, I'm very curious to watch that reaction. An ending that I suspect you will be satisfied with though is HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. I know it's been a rough ride for you, but it's all building to that last one and I'm confident that you will find that it was all worth it. It was for me. I loved it. It moved me to tears (as Mike Flanagan's stuff tends to do). Can't wait to see that reaction as well. But the reaction I am most excited about this week is obviously BIG FISH as it was one of my five submissions for winning the trivia night. I know you've had a spotty record with Tim Burton, but I (and a lot of other people who have also recommended it) have long believed that this is one of his films that you will just love. I am even tempted to call it his best movie (although ED WOOD is another contender). I won't say anything about the tone, the story or the genre of it... except to say that you should probably have tissues handy. Really looking forward to this week. Hope you have a happy Halloween. Those are great costumes. Best of luck with the podcast. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

All the best with the new podcast, Cassie. I really hope Saw (2004) was NOT too traumatising for you. I personally don't think you should put any Saw sequels in the sequel poll. They are basically the Friday 13th movies of today, a never-ending stream of gory sequels. I remember a vintage Siskel & Ebert clip of Gene Siskel reviewing a Friday 13th sequel "Friday 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), I sure hope so but I doubt it!"... Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985) was then made and released just a year later!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Almost didn't recognise you in the top pics!😃

Chris Clarke

Mrs. Popcorn is living La Dolce Vita!

Joe

Teri Garr died today, one of her movies would be great. Off the top of my head I don't know if you've seen those...Tootsie, Mr Mom, Let it Ride, Close Encounters..

Jeff Rogers

Big Fish will be such an interesting watch! Big congratulations to Stick Figures for getting it watched. More eclectic Tim Burton movies are always an event. I too am so glad that October and scary movies are about to be over. I watched more of them than I thought I would, I enjoyed October more than I thought I would, but enough is enough! 😄

Mike LL

Oh good. I wasn't the only one whose mind went there first 😄

mikethemotormouth

Big Fish is 💯 So looking forward to it!

Terdell Ferguson

Hilarious 😆

Ace Degenerate

Cassie, love your costume as Goldie Hawn from Overboard. You look fantastic!! 🍿💍

Tara

I didn't care for Big Fish when I saw it as a 24-year-old. After losing my parent over the years, I've come to appreciate it and get choked up a la Field of Dreams at the ending. Charming movie.

Lyle Morgan

Love those pics,Goldie Corn.🌽and the food tasty looking spread!😎

Celeste McAllister

Listening to the first podcast episode now! So fun! Already loving it.

kaiielle

Carly would LOVE Big Fish I think. It's such a sweet movie.

djKENTO

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on "Big Fish". Btw...why does it look like you're standing with MrBallen (great channel too)?

R F.

Great costume! 😄
