Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for Cloverfield, which will premiere shortly!
I've never seen "Office Christmas Party" before, but it's on my list now!

A co-worker of mine is a big kaiju fan but can never watch Cloverfield because he is super nauseous during shaky footage scenes, so no way would he make it through a whole movie. I feel bad for him.

I thought that Cassie was Utah Mormon for the longest time.
Now, I just think that Cassie and Carly are just Cassie and Carly, sans modifier.

Pretty sure John Heder and friends are Utah Mormon.

JJ Abrams picks attractive casts for the most part. And fairly young usually.

Thought he was pretty solid in Office Christmas Party. He and Jennifer Aniston actually bounced off each other pretty well in that one. Weirdly believable as brother and sister.

I wish I had that. Because The Blair Witch Project has some of my favorite performances in it. But I have to look off to the side for more than half of it.

I love how Cassie now thinks every giant monster is Godzilla. It would blow her mind to know how many separate variants of Godzilla alone there are. I can think of at least 9 off the top of my head. And there are probably between 50 - 100 giant monsters of 100 foot+ size in the movies.

The Spanish movie, REC, is a great found footage movie.

Some people just aren’t bothered by shaky found footage movies - me being one of them.

Early Queen is the best. Once you go six or seven albums deep into their discography, the quality drops off very steeply. I own very few of their 80's albums, but worship all the stuff from the 70's.

It was my first time seeing this movie, although I was familiar with the concept. TJ Miller's performance surprised me; he's played a goofball in everything else I've seen him in.

10 Cloverfield Lane was actually a script for a totally different film that was frankensteined into a Cloverfield sequel. Unsuccessfully.

You really should see their Live Aid performance of Radio Ga Ga. Your jaw will hit the floor! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-0ygW-B_gI

I discovered Radio Ga Ga six months ago and I'm obsessed. The music video is surreal.

Cassie WILL get her happy ending and/or a gah-damm romantic kiss OR ELSE.

11:25 "You know, this is reminding me of War of the Worlds" This will probably never happen, but, I hope one day Cassie might react to Orson Welles' landmark radio adaptation of War of the Worlds. When it was first broadcast on American radio in 1938, it sounded so authentic that literally millions of listeners truly believed that aliens had invaded America in flying saucers! The rock band Queen referenced it in their iconic song Radio Ga Ga: "The War of the Worlds invading my mind!"

I think I detected a little frustration in Cassie’s voice there towards the end… almost imperceptible.

Movies like this are almost worse than those rides at the fair. But I liked the movie in theory. lol

There are a few sequels to this movie and one either not yet released or in the planning stages I’m not sure which.

Did Cassi saw the moment the monster falls in the water? Maybe in the Full version.
In PsyFi thers always a ask, a expectation that the viewer would cooperate by "suspending disbelief", if that would have been that the handheld camera does not shake this could have been one grate movie. I still like it but can't watch it.

I suggest that Cassie release a special Election Night Reaction Video for next month.
Where Cassie and Carly react to “Training Day”.
Just so we can all hear Denzel’s amazing performance, before the holiday season starts.

It was a pleasant surprise how much you enjoyed this - really has me thinking that you should consider the modern run of Godzilla movies at some point. They're a lot of fun and have a surprising amount of heart to them.

I'm surprised Cassie watched it, Chris. How many comments, both here and from her friends, were along the lines of, "Great film, but I threw up four times!"

Yep. There’s one documentary I use to watch every 9/11 that was made up of just camera footage shot that day, no talking heads, no context beyond textual titles, just footage and it’s insane how they captured the feeling. The lighting of the dust cloud is exact. Of the blown out stores. Matt Reeves feature debut. What’s amazing is how his and J.J Abrams careers have inverted. J.J was the “it” thing during this period. His name alone would get projects made. But now Matt Reeves has the more critical clout.

I saw this in theaters opening weekend and thought it was pretty fun, but I've never had any interest in going back to watch it again, so I tend to think of it as largely forgettable. I do remember one of the guys who went with us to see it had to leave the theater to go lay down outside because he had such bad motion sickness though.
I'm often perplexed by some of the movies that win the polls around here. I'd have never guessed there was a major contingent of people clamoring for you to watch this movie. It's more of like a special effects showcase from that time period than anything, I think. Not a very compelling story or characters or anything. Just sort of like "hey look what else we can do with the found footage genre!"

This is the only found footage film I respect. Blair Witch was ok, but this movie accomplished it successfully.

Now we know why this movie is 84 mins. Anything more with the found footage POV would give me a headache. Star studded cast. Very cool concept. Performances are very good. But that erratic camera movement made me really not enjoy watching it when it came out. I know that's just me and my preference. It was easier watching this YT edit.

After watching this, one should watch videos of 9/11 and you’ll be blown away by how much they nailed the horror of that day.

This was so fun. Thanks! Though it was the most unrealistic look into "normal" life I have seen in a while. No...not the monster.....everyone was beautiful!!! Like not a single ugly mug in the whole bunch of friends!? 😀

There's something about the carriage horse wandering the streets of New York that really gets me. It really drives home the helplessness of everything for me.

This is actually the first of a series of disconnected movies. The follow-up features -- 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox -- were completely different in style, tone, and substance, but take place during the events of the first movie. Interestingly, "A Quiet Place" was originally intended to be the next Cloverfield movie, but the studio decided to make it's own thing during development. Instead, a different fourth movie (still untitled) is currently in development.

I like when they don't explain what it is and where did it come from, just run for your lives!.....The 'Godzilla' style outro music was the icing on the monster cake! :)
