TRICK POLL WEEK 2

UPDATE: THE YEAR FOR INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS SHOULD BE 1978 NOT 2000

Week 2 of Trick or Treat Polls! Here are the TRICKS, the more scary (but not too scary) picks! Last Week's Poll was CLOSE! Constantine barely won over The Haunting of Hill House! I can't wait to see what you guys think about this one! Thank you for being so interactive and commenting and passionate, I LOVE IT!!

TREAT Poll here!

Ps-I will already be watching some spooky movies on the calendar so that is why some are missing from the poll!

Comments

Blade is not scary or creepy... it's action more than anything. Really not sure why it's grouped here.

JackTupp

I am not my boyfriend and I liked Blade cool pick guys. I am just thankful Cassie gives the choice you know?

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Well considering she doesn’t really like any horror movies you’re probably right.

Richard Maurer

Bummed that Night of the Living Dead did so poorly, but I got a hunch Cassie would hate it anyway, iykyk

Mr. Crowley

My favourite part is just the absolutely bonkers one-liners.

Mr. Crowley

Train to Busan, Fallen, Frailty, 30 Days of Night, Panic Room (PR is for Carly).

Brent Petty

Anyone who vomits watching this movie must have a very weak stomach. I’ve seen worse in real life without vomiting.

Richard Maurer

Everyone still needs a bucket on standby tho. Mirror neurons are enough to cause nausea.

SnabbKassa

@Edward, Cassie has already promised to watch it.

Joe

If Cassie ever does watch The Fly I wouldn’t be surprised if her reaction is “that wasn’t as scary as I expected”. People way oversold how bad this movie is.

Richard Maurer

Invasion of the body snatches 1978 should be a must watch

Edward Robson

Tell me have you liked every film suggested or seen by you?

David Freese

Since Blade beat out The Fly, Cassie is off the hook for one more year (haha).

Joe

I don't understand why people are making The Fly out to be worse than it is. I really dislike horror movies, and I've seen it dozens of times. Yes, there are some gross things in it, but nothing more than she has seen in other movies. I don't know, I could be wrong though. Maybe next year.

Verteron

Blade honestly didn't age well for me.

Yaisu

Also one of the coolest lines in cinema, “Some MF”s always trying to Ice Skate uphill”

Dean Holt

Blade (1998): "Snipes plays his superhero character with such aching coolness that you can't wait for the next dumb-ass vampire to get in his way."

Clay F

Looks like American Psycho (2000) doesn't stand a chance, at least in this poll. I prefer American Psycho (2000) over Blade (1998). American Psycho (2000) is wild. Christian Bale is good.

Clay F

There is a different reason people are voting for Blade. If you know, you know.

Mike LL

I've never seen American Psycho, so if that one gets watched, it'll be my first time too.

Yaisu

Vote for The Fly, she will love the love story!

Bryan Lee Brumbeloe

Just because I what to see her react to The Fly, I think we need a new rule if any film gets above 500 votes Cassie should just watch it 😂. But tbh I really don’t have a problem with Blade winning even though the 2nd one is better imo. But it’s surprised me a little so many people saying it’s a poor movie.

Dean Holt

You’re gonna LOVE blade! It’s a horror film but for the vampires. 😎 Wesley Snipes set the bar for a new level when it comes to vampire action movies.

Taylor Salas

Not enough time for "The Fly" to win the poll, Cassie will be off the hook one more year (haha).

Joe

I thought Blade was put on here as a ringer, almost guaranteed to win. Blade is very popular right now due to the Deadpool &Wolverine connection.

Richard Maurer

Sad that Blade is winning but I will watch the reaction.

Clay F

Yep

Clay F

Blade is lame compared to Movies like The Fly and American Psycho and Cujo. The people that vote 😭

John Cranberry

Thank goodness Blade is winning.

Joe M

I chose The Fly

Clay F

Brett Easton Ellis movies are pretty interesting. Less Than Zero and Rules of Attraction have some thematic similarities. Strange films.

Chris Thom

Correct, I watch that at least once a year, depending on availability. Fun ride! Kate (and Dracula's play mates, look pretty good in this as well! Even a comic relief side kick for Jackman.

Troy Silvester

I think Cassie (and Carly) need to watch Friday the 13th (the foundation for that iconic series). Creature from the Black Lagoon is another great classic.

Russell

I agree, Blade was a forgettable movie at best.

Russell

Should have had 2004 Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale, Vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, can't get any better that this for a nice Halloween action film...Hugh Jackman is jacked in this move , never looked better...mmm eye candy

Jimmy Stewart

oh, my votes were for the top 3 - just coincidence heh. American Psycho was the one I clicked on first though. I just saw it recently for the first time. I want to see it a few more times at this point.

Mannygogou

The least scariest film on the poll, which really should have been in the other poll, is winning. I think people got the right to complain a little.

Larry Darrell

Two Trick Polls already and “Not Too Scary” films have won. 4 Total Polls, which were supposed to give 2 of each has given us 4 “Not Too Scary” films. 🤷

Larry Darrell

Agreed. And I would also add that The Village doesn't get enough love in terms of M. Night films. Personally, I think it's in his top 3 films.

Daniel Allen

I think The Thing (1982) might have pushed her to the limit. I remember on the spider scene she said "The most disgusting thing I've ever seen!". I think Cassie might struggle to watch The Fly (1986), which might be why she has put it back in the poll instead of watching it as a runner up. She might secretly be hoping it will lose again and not by one vote!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I would rate the fly as the same kind of goryness as the thing. And she was fine with the thing.

rakesh

Do it! It's a love story. She loves love stories.

rakesh

For some reason (I may be wrong), I thought she said she would watch The Fly (1986) b/c it finished so close in that poll. Thus, I was surpised to see The Fly in this poll. I was thinking that The Fly would just show up on the October schedule. But I am not complaining. I am fine with whatever she wants to do.

Clay F

Go ahead and chose it. The fly almost won a poll last year 🙂

Björn Karlsson

You can vote The fly. That movie was in a poll last year as well 🙂

Björn Karlsson

Johnny, well said. I didn't vote for Blade, but will watch the reaction. "A dull Blade"? "Blade loses it's edge? I don't remember Blade that well and will give it a chance. "Snipes plays his superhero character with such aching coolness that you can't wait for the next dumb-ass vampire to get in his way."

Clay F

Generally any poll, the candidates (choices) in the poll are apparently movies that Cassie is willing to watch, or would not have been placed in the poll. I appreciate your sentiment, but I generally don't worry about the "poor girl" with regard to movies that the channel has decided to place in a poll. Instead, I vote for the choice I most want to see a reaction.

Clay F

I voted THE FLY and don't feel bad.

Clay F

No, there's plenty of stuff in BLADE that - emphasis here - viewers like our host would find very scary. If you don't think so then you're not remembering it well.

Patrick Flanagan

I love both versions of NotLD. Either is more worthy on a Halloween poll than Blade. First time I saw Romero's original, I was a preschooler. My parent's packed us up in the car and we saw it at a drive-in theater. There were hired people dressed as zombies roaming the lot banging on cars and peering through the windows. Quite memorable😏

BRT

It's an alright film but I heartily agree that it's not a Horror film, at least not in the spirit of Halloween

BRT

@Bob, Thank you I meant American Psycho, on the poll for this post

Thin White Duke

I keep reading people's comments. One would think that we are trying to send her down a dark alley by herself. I have even heard her say it's just a movie.

Eddie Perkins

I'm not just talking about this poll.

D.M. Lipkin

I keep seeing people do that. I watched this with my niece when she was 12; she loved it. I look at it this way: She can always try to watch it, and if she can't, she can always turn it off.

Eddie Perkins

Also, it's a very good movie, and I'm not a big fan of zombie movies.

Mark Vaderr

Same, The 1956 film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," is the best. But the Fly would make me happy.

Eddie Perkins

She's scared to watch The Fly because people convinced it's worse than it really is.

Richard Maurer

What are you even talking about? How many polls have there been where someone wasn't complaining about what was in the poll? Zero, that's how many. So, if everyone here stops complaining about polls for the next year I promise not to complain next Halloween.

Richard Maurer

Blade, which isn't scary at all, is winning this poll. Also, Cassie's people put this poll together, meaning she's willing to watch anything on the poll.

Richard Maurer

I originally voted for THE FLY, but then felt bad, cause it's really good, but really gross. So I switched to BLADE because it's Marvel.

Super Powered Design (Jim)

Oh good, I'm glad she said that. One of my favorite movies of all time, I was disappointed it's not getting any love in the poll.

Ben Schwartz

Blade still holds up today besides stephen dorfs hair

Andrew Heller

When is Cassie going to learn that her audience will never choose "but not too scary" options? Poor girl.

D.M. Lipkin

I think there's a lot to be had from seeing the classics. The original Night of the Living Dead has some very wooden acting, but it's worth watching for historical value. It basically invented the modern zombie genre, and it builds tension better than a lot of movies that followed it. No matter what wins, I think Cassie should watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Night of the Living Dead anyway.

D.M. Lipkin

Dave, it should not be on a poll, Cassie already promised to watch the 78 version in her last LIVE.

Joe

Cassie did say last night in the Trivia game she is scared of watching "The Fly". Can it win the poll? If not, she's off the hook for another year.

Joe

In her last LIVE, Cassie promised to watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) this October.

Joe

I want to also, but I just can't make myself click the mouse button.

BibbitduBois

The Ritual sounds familiar. Does that take place on a strange Scottish Isle?

Chris Thom

I cant chose The Fly. I cant do that to Cassie.

Gro Do

Man, give it a rest. Take that weirdly elitist movie-snob B.S. somewhere else.

Matt Winchester

It’s pretty much a tragic love story

Aaron Ritchie

There is no 2000 version so I don't understand what's happening...

BRT

Is it really too much of a stretch to have a ghost, a witch, the Devil or some such for Halloween???

BRT

@Scott AGREED and very disappointed

BRT

She's too late, already people like The Media Knights, Reel Rejects, and many others are posting it.

Richard Maurer

Yeah, we should just accept the bad movies on the list and not complain - just like everyone else does, every poll that comes out. Oh, wait a second......that never really happens, does it?

Richard Maurer

I just remembered that he was in the movie ‘X’.. so you might’ve just been on to something there mentioning him, Vincent😂😂

Shehab Dawoud

TRUE

Andrew Taylor

The latest version which maybe referring to the film "The Invasion (2007)" with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig based on the book The Body Snatchers.

John Yao

You know what? If something "doesn't belong on the list," don't vote for it. What a bunch of whiners.

Cliff Smelley

I don’t have a problem if Blade wins as long as Cassie eventually watches the sequel as well as I think it’s a better movie but it’s definitely more of a horror film. I do personally think the Fly should win this one though and please can we have a Universal Monsters poll.

Dean Holt

For the vampirism aspect. Even though, I voted for it... I don't know how its currently beating The Fly. I assumed The Fly would win very easily.

Vincent

Day 'N' Nite 🤣🤣🤣 Predictive type screwed again. Excuse me while I correct it.

Vincent

Blade is not horror, and it's yet another one of those movies that isn't as good as people remember. So many times people vote for movies because they thought it was cool when they saw it decades ago, but it doesn't stand up very well to modern first time viewers.

Johnny

If you would have chosen the 1956 "invasion" that would get my vote, hands down. One of my all time favs. This list I will have to go with The Fly. Jeff Goldbloom and Gina Davis, are great.

Troy Silvester

The Invasion (of Body Snatchers) from 2007 is rated 5.9 on IMDb and has a 20 percent critic score on rottentomatoes - for good reason. Beware. However, both the 1956 version and the 1978 version are excellent and well worth a watch. Even the 1993 version is infinitely better than the 2007 version. As I have said before, I would start with the original from 1956.

Grad

@Thin White Duke. You mentioned that Cassie would be so traumatized by “Psycho” that it would hurt the reaction. Well, she reacted to “Psycho”, loved it and it was a fabulous reaction.

Just Plain Bob

Well I'm sure she is super busy balancing the channel and family duties so, yeah, I get what you're saying but it is her channel at the end of the day.

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

D & W. Yep

Larry Darrell

Deadpool Wolverine

Richard Maurer

DW..?

Grad

Shouldn't have had to even be on a poll again. She should have just watched it.

Richard Maurer

If The Fly (1986) loses by one vote again.....................

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I’ve had the same thought. It does seem odd that these non-horror choices crop up in polls that include genre classics.

Just Plain Bob

"personally, I would have started with the original" +1

Grad

Maybe that's the idea?

Richard Maurer

These aren't meant for Carly to watch anyway.

Richard Maurer

Watch none is these with Carley... Trust me on this

Andrew Petty

Yeah we can't have a movie that's actually scary win, right? I mean this is Halloween, which is definitely not the time to watch scary movies /s

Richard Maurer

@Story Archer - Not a reason for her not to watch it.

Richard Maurer

Had to go with Night of the Living Dead since this category is scary but not too scary. I love The Fly, but I think that's a bit too much for this category especially if Carly will be watching. Also, Blade rules, but it's not really scary at all, so that should go in a different poll, like a Marvel poll. Anyway, I know some might consider what I'm about to say blasphemy, but I actually prefer the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. George Romero was on board with the changes that Tom Savini had in mind, particularly to the Barbara character, and I think the 1990 version is just a better, more realized film. I hope the 1990 version gets on a poll sometime in the future.

Daniel Allen

As much as I like the 90 remake, you've got go classic on this one. it literally started a entire sub-genre that became immensely popular.

Richard Maurer

@Stranger2Reality - I have to disagree about horror not being a widely beloved genre. In fact horror is one of the most consistently popular genres in film. I would say however a lot of people are embarrassed to admit they like it. and also many of the fans are casuals, not really going beyond whatever low level horror the big studios produce.

Richard Maurer

To be honest I have nothing against superhero movies, in fact I like a lot of them, but they just don't belong in a Halloween poll Edit: Except for Brightburn, that's a superhero movie that would belong on a Halloween poll.

Richard Maurer

I think the election is skewed now due to the wrong one being there. And in an election year! The horror!!

Scott Macaulay

Cudi is a good musician and decent actor but I don’t think he belongs on this poll xD

Shehab Dawoud

Just an FYI for those who see this - the Invasion of the Body Snatchers meant for the poll is the 1978 version. Hoping to update it in the poll soon...

Dave

The Fly Cujo... definitely NOT Cudi American Psycho *Special Mention: Blade Only because you haven't reacted to it.

Vincent

Gah why is Blade (a superhero movie) even on here (a horror poll)? Just to stop The Fly from winning for the second year in a row?

Aaron Ritchie

I don’t think blade fits but I see the marvel crowd has already taken hold. It’s an awesome movie though. But the original night of the living dead is mandatory

Jose Deleon

Blade doesn’t not belong on this list.

Daniel Turbyfill

For the TREAT movie, it should be Rocky Horror Picture Show.

ChiefKC

No... don't play with my emotions, man.

Story Archer

Coming this week… The Village. (As far as I know ;-)

Larry Darrell

Would be a great reaction and well she's not gonna be super keen on most proper horror movies to be fair

Gray

The Fly I wouldn't recommend for Cassie, no doubt it's a awesome horror movie. And a great pick, but for Cassie I am not positive.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

If that’s how people based their vote she wouldn’t have expanded her horizons to view such an eclectic array of film. I don’t usually vote whether or not she’s going to like it. I find that a bit boring, I vote based on how entertaining the watch will be and that movie will be SUPER entertaining for us to watch her

Stan the Man

I agree that the Classics are great, and I recommend that everyone watch them first. But I'm afraid I have to disagree that The Fly is too much. I have seen her watch movies that are much bloodier, violent, and scarier. And people keep forgetting that she is an adult.

Eddie Perkins

I can't imagine a universe in which Cassie enjoys The Fly...

Story Archer

There's no universe in which I can imagine Cassie enjoying The Fly.

Story Archer

The Village. PLEASE give The Village a chance! Star-studded cast with phenomenal performances, one of the best musical scores in recent memory - it's a LOVE STORY just pretending to be a horror movie... I really think its an all-time favorite scary-but-not-too-scary movie. Sincerely, it's a Carli-quality scary movie - I can't sell it better than that!

Story Archer

There's not; personally, I would have started with the original.

Eddie Perkins

The Fly was my pick; I wouldn't have even put Blade on this list.

Eddie Perkins

You took the words out of my mouth. I'm starting to think it's an age thing. I'm 62, and I love a good horror. But these days, everyone feels a movie needs a superhero.

Eddie Perkins

"Invasion of the Body Snatchers"...from 2000? I can't find ANY indication there was an adaptation of the movie from that year. From Wikipedia - "The novel has been adapted for the screen four times; the first film, 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' in 1956, the second in 1978 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers', the third in 1993 'Body Snatchers', and the fourth in 2007 'The Invasion'. It was also the basis of the 1998 movie 'The Faculty' and the 2019 movie 'Assimilate'."

Miles E Coburn

100% Richard, you said exactly what I have been thinking. Not one actual horror movie has won these watered-down polls.

Mikey Mike

I didn't say I need anyone to like anything. I said when a reactor enjoys a movie, and has fun with it, then it enhances my enjoyment, when they don't and are acting like a downer it detracts from my enjoyment - so I don't recommend films or upvote films the reactor isn't into. Other reaction channels are available or I can watch the same movie without paying for reactions at all. It shouldn't be that hard to understand

Thin White Duke

You hit it right on the head.

Dan M

i'm still waiting for the movie The Ring

Steve Grad

Trivia contest took up a lot of time last night, I'm sure it is coming!

Mike LL

@Thin White Duke You don’t necessarily need someone to like a film. Even more so with horror, you want them to be scared, unsettled, on edge. That’s the point of horror films. It shouldn’t be that hard to understand.

Shehab Dawoud

There is only one... Blade😎

Ignis Rændl

@Stranger2Reality There’s definitely a problem of putting movies on the wrong poll, I also mentioned that. That’s on the people who make the polls. But if you’ve followed this place for years, you would’ve noticed that a lot people here exaggerate like crazy when they talk about not wanting her to watch certain movies. Some people even talk about her being traumatized…

Shehab Dawoud

Yep, vanilla pudding and donuts to dunk in the pudding!

Stranger2Reality

Agreed. Blade is a comic book/action movie and American Psycho is a dark comedy/satire. It never would have even occurred to me to classify either film as "horror".

Stranger2Reality

I think part of it is that horror is not the most widely beloved genre, so if you put in a non-horror movie into a supposed horror movie poll, then all the people who don't like horror movies will choose that one that doesn't fit, as it's either the only one they've seen, or it's the only one they at all care about. If there was a musicals poll and something like Straight Outta Compton or Bohemian Rhapsody was in there, it would probably win, despite not at all being a musical, but rather a music biopic. This isn't because people want to protect Cassie, but because most people don't like musicals and would rather she watch something they want to see. Which, OK, but it defeats the point of doing a musicals poll then. If you're going to do a poll of a certain genre, then all the movies in the poll should explicitly be from that genre. Otherwise you end up with Star Wars or Serenity winning a westerns poll, and that's basically what's happened here. I don't know if whomever is picking the movies for these polls is intentionally stacking the deck, or if it's just a simple mistake, but either way, we're gonna have three horror movie winners where none of them are actually horror movies.

Stranger2Reality

I know but I don’t want to give too much away

LDC7080

While I agree with the concept of what you're saying, Constantine really isn't an action movie like Underworld and Blade are, it's more of a pseudo noir detective movie with maybe about 30 seconds of action in it. But otherwise, you're 100% correct, these winners are not horror movies at all. They're not even attempting to be scary. It's too bad that horror is really the only genre that Cassie won't otherwise watch except during October, and the movies that won the "horror polls" are not horror movies at all. Honestly I don't think even Carly would have much trouble watching Underworld, Blade or Constantine. They just are not scary movies, but people pick them because they're mistakenly added to these polls and because they have the most broad appeal due to not being horror movies. This would be like if there was a classic movie poll and somehow The Matrix was in there and it won in a landslide.

Stranger2Reality

Part 2 is Martin though, not Seth.

Stranger2Reality

No way, dude. Absolutely eat! Vanilla pudding by the pound!

Ricardo Rodriguez

I pay for reaction channels so having the reaction playing makes watching the movie better, but if the reactor doesn't either like the movie or at least get it, I personally find it does detract from the enjoyment - so films I don't think Cassie will enjoy I don't push for or vote up Like ordinarily I wouldn't watch Star Trek Generations again because it's average at best, but because I know Cassie will enjoy it I would watch it again. Also films like American Psycho & The Fly are so common in the reactorverse I would rather watch them on another channel

Thin White Duke

The fly and the must watch fly 2 are brilliant films, team Seth 🪰

LDC7080

There’s no point in just having her watch movies she’ll love, with nothing but happy endings. It defeats the purpose of the channel. Yeah, she’ll hate some movies. But that’s never a guarantee, we’ve seen surprises. Even something like Goodfellas, she could appreciate and respect it.

Shehab Dawoud

Kris had plenty of decent movies under his belt worthy of a poll. Here's to you Rubber Duck!

John Drake

I didn’t even know there was an Invasion of the body snatchers from 2000. The older ones are great, 70s one in particular. Night of the Living Dead is a genre beginning legend… a bit lo-fi, but still, probably an important addition to Cassie’s journey.

Ria Grix

It's not just a case of sheltering her, I actually find it a bit annoying watching her react to things like Goodfellas & Scream because she's so overwhelmed that she doesn't pick up on the dark humour or satire so these kind of films just aren't her forte. She'll be so freaked out by The Fly or American Psycho that for me it's frustrating and spoils my enjoyment of these films somewhat, whereas when she reacts to films she enjoys it enhances it

Thin White Duke

Sorry, where's the TREAT poll?

Jake McNulty

watching blade gives us a chance for blade 2 as well which is great

Andrew Taylor

i think The Ritual is actually the scariest of these so probably the best it doesnt win lol

Andrew Taylor

Very true. Underworld will give Cassie & Carly(if she joins) Twilight vibes. I do think Underworld is good, it's just not a horror movie. To be fair, we don't know which movies Cassie has chosen to watch for October, that weren't placed on polls. I'm holding out hope.

Mark Vaderr

Yeah, I don't see why this movie gets so much love. Is it the Huey Lewis song? This movie doesn't belong in this poll.

Mark Vaderr

Night of the Living Dead is definitely a "Halloween" movie .

Richard Maurer

That could work, maybe. I’m hearing that Carly might not be available this week, so it could be next week when she tries to watch it. I mentioned all this on Discord, and I think some people who are closer to her, might have realized it. Hopefully. I mean for the channel’s sake, this would be big missed opportunity. Hopefully someone close to her realizes it.

Larry Darrell

Voted for the fly and blade.

rakesh

So, if Blade wins this poll (and it likely will) then the first 3 polls will have been won by basically the same type movie - superhero action films with horror overtones (yes that includes Underworld, you know it does). Not 1 real horror film in the bunch. While this is partly the fault of the patrons, it's mostly the fault of whoever put these polls together.. Three action movies should have never even made the polls, or at best they all should been in the same Treat poll together. As it stands now it's hardly going to feel like Halloween, more like we're having action movie month.

Richard Maurer

I’m just imagining her watching D&W then immediately watching B, and me and everyone being like 🤦‍♂️ WTH.

Larry Darrell

With all due respect, Cassie, you might want to have a word with your consiglieres or whoever is putting together the polls. They’re not doing a good job. Certain movies shouldn’t be mixed together with other movies that are very different. So, Constantine was the clear outlier on the first poll, and this time it’s Blade (and some others). Unfortunately, there’s a big majority in here who are trying way too hard to shelter you from anything that is remotely scary or unsettling. So if you give them the choice between a scary movie and a not so scary one, they’re always gonna choose the latter. It’s actually quite annoying and defeats the purpose of this whole month and concept. I’ve seen others say that it turns them away from the channel. Hope no one takes offense. I’m just trying to help make it enjoyable for everyone.

Shehab Dawoud

Wow, tough call. I am a big fan of "Cujo", "American Psycho" and.... "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers", - at least the ones from the 50s and 70s, - and "The Fly" is directed by a canadian, - but "Night Of The Living Dead" is such a all-time classic and milestone in horror, - so it gets my vote...

Jens Kristensen

I voted "The Fly" (1986) and "American Psycho" (2000). Doesn't matter b/c apparently Blade is going to win the poll. For some reason, I thought she had already decided to react to "The Fly" (1986). "American Psycho" (2000) is wild. I remember falling asleep during Blade (1998). Looks like I will be giving Blade (1998) another chance. Night of the Living Dead (1968) might be interesting. Scary (but not too scary) movies I suggest: *Black Swan (2010) *Let the Right One In (2008) *Donnie Darko (2001) *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) *Requiem for a Dream (2000). *Take Shelter (2011) *The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) *Train to Busan (2016)

Clay F

"The Fly" will be a great "skill check" scary movie for someone with growing scary movie tolerance skills. Definitely not the scariest movie out there, but not chopped liver either. Cassie feels like she's leveled up some in the scary movie department and I have faith in her. It'll push her boundaries some, but I think she'll be just fine with it. Besides, Cassie needs more Jeff Goldblum in her life, and he is riveting in the "The Fly".

David Collins

I think she would prefer the 1990 remake

Thin White Duke

Cassie thinks Jurassic Park is a horror movie. My objection would be she won't notice a single slip of humour or satire in American Psycho just like Scream or The Frighteners

Thin White Duke

If The Fly is too much for Cassie there's an obvious compromise- she should watch the original Vincent Price version first. It is not and never was the masterpiece that Cronenberg's is, but it still holds up. I watched it last year with my son (then 9), and it had enough intrigue and creep-factor to hold his attention, and the ending is still iconic. If it goes down well for Cass then maybe she'll feel more confident about braving the remake. If not, no need to bother. It is nice that the remake changes the story enough that even watching them back to back doesn't feel redundant.

Robin T

I'm one of those who is far from convinced by the "prerequisites" case. BUT. If Cassie is already going to watch the two, then you're quite right.

Happy Hanukkah

If it does ruin him then watching Earth Girls Are Easy will fix him

Robin T

Unfortunately, I think you're right. Had me on the edge of my seat through the whole movie though.

Katie Jackson

Or we could strongly suggest she wait till Halloween is over before watching D&W.

Richard Maurer

At this point that doesn't even surprise me. Apparently anything even slightly horror adjacent goes.

Richard Maurer

I agree, it's not really a Halloween movie... but none of the movies on this poll are either. They're just scary or disturbing movies. Nothing to do with Halloween, forshame. That's why I keep recommending "Trick 'R Treat" (2007) because it is the ultimate Halloween-themed movie and the perfect scary-but-not-too-scary movie for Cassie and Carly to watch this Halloween. 🤞 P.S. I cannot believe that "The Ritual" and "Dark Skies" made it onto this poll and "Trick 'R Treat" didn't!

Rod Reavern

Once again, I highly recommend TRICK 'R TREAT (2007). I sincerely hope it makes onto one of these Trick or Treat polls this October, because it's the perfect Halloween-themed movie EVER! I voted for "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) but "Blade" was my second choice. Cassie has already watched the R-rated "Logan" and "Deadpool" movies, so I'm certain she can handle Blade. And it's important for Cassie to watch "Blade" BEFORE... (no spoilers) 🤐😉 I hope Cassie doesn't watch "The Fly" (1986) because it's not a movie she'll enjoy. Growing up in the '90s, I remember FOX 29 would frequently show "The Fly" weekend afternoons and my parents didn't want me watching it because they thought it was too gross and disturbing, but I did anyway. When I watched it as a grown-up, it was kinda meh. I'd rather watch "Predator" or "Terminator" or even "Robocop" a hundred more times rather than watch "The Fly" again. I'd wager Cassie would enjoy watching any of those movies a second time rather than watch "The Fly".

Rod Reavern

Oh, Dark Skies is so good.....you make me sad.

J

Blade should not have been in this poll for multiple reasons, but it should also still be watched very, very soon. Or this channel is going to have a Huge Moment, that is a total dud, but majorly successful for other channels.

Larry Darrell

I love blade. Just dont think it belongs on this poll. Like I said some of her poll choices are a bit strange sometimes. But I understand she hasn’t seen these movies yet so how would she know. But I feel like her viewers would tell her what films belong on what polls. Someone’s dropping the ball.

brooke atkins

D&W comes out 10/1. She just said in Trivia that she hopes to watch it and get it out before other reactors.

Larry Darrell

And it very well might be too late.

Larry Darrell

Listen, cassie has come a longgg way….but sometimes i cant even watch parts of the Fly lol

Andrew Heller

I remember suggesting Cujo as a joke quite a while back.

Happy Hanukkah

I saw The Fly (1986) in the movie theater when I was 9 years old. (It was the 80’s and my parents didn’t give a F if it was inappropriate for my age 😂😂). I remember being horrified and grossed out. But I LOVED it. Then I remember trying to tell the other 9 year old kids on my street about the movie and getting mad because they didn’t understand why I thought it was so awesome. They just started flapping their arms around and going “buzz buzz buzz” while I was trying to explain the “science” of the movie 😂😂😂😂 Ahhh the 80’s.. I miss you 😘

Ace Degenerate

Blade is more of an action / superhero movie to me.

Shawn Kildal

I voted Blade because RIP Whistler

Cassie just said in the Trivia that D&W comes to streaming this week, and she hopes to watch it and get it out before other reactors. I just checked. It comes to Amazon tomorrow 10/1. Is there anyone in Cassie’s Camp, that knows what we know, that can help with the order of things? 🤷 Trying to keep it spoiler free, if possible. There’s an opportunity for a Really Great Moment here. For us and her channel. She could wind up in one of those Super-Cuts, that you know they will do. If things happen in the right order.

Larry Darrell

It’s worse. D&W comes to Amazon tomorrow 10/1.

Larry Darrell

I think it’s more suspenseful and eerie than dark (even though it’s literally called Dark Skies 😂).

Dan M

Cassie just said in the Trivia that D&W comes to streaming next week, and she was hoping to try and watch it and get it out before other reactors. Son of a B…. People need to start dropping spoiler free hints like crazy.

Larry Darrell

Just my opinion, but Blade and American Psycho aren’t horror movies.

Dan M

I agree with you Zachary. Blade isn’t a horror film, nor is it the least bit scary.

Dan M

Thank you Katie! But I don’t think it has a shot on this poll. I’m hoping Cassie makes it Popcorn Pick of the Month. And it’s a movie Carly could definitely watch.

Dan M

That one was pretty dark, wasn't it? Remember the ending being pretty disturbing. But I like that one too.

Chris Thom

The Fly is way beyond a "little scary" wheras Blade is almost not scary at all. This is really a weird poll.

Devilfrog

Yes like her and Carly before going into Deadpool and wolverine.

Brian Cowgill

And 'Snatcher Gate' was born. I was here. Who's gonna tell her?

Scott Macaulay

I so agree with you. And this is a movie Carly can definitely watch.

Dan M

Nooooo! Why is Dark Skies on here with Blade and The Fly?! It’s the perfect Scary But Not Too Scary for both you AND Carly….bummer! Actually, I’m not sure it would win any poll you put it on. Maybe you can give it a sympathy pick?

Dan M

Yes, very much so. And NOT a horror movie.

Just Plain Bob

Dark Skies would be absolutely perfect for scaring Cassie without it being too much, especially after what we saw from her reaction from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

KTVindicare

I love “Blade” but it has no business being in this poll. It’s not scary, at all. As long as movies like “Blade” and “Underworld” are included in these polls, actual horror movies will have no chance.

Just Plain Bob

I assume it’s the 2007 version but 1978 is obviously the best. That one Donald Sutherland gif is fairly ubiquitous.

Jacob King

Well, I just saw 'Blade' with the other Canadian woman I follow that does reactions but I'll watch again with Cassie, mostly to see her reaction.

JPDotCom23

I really want her to watch it! It's worth watching to see the origins of the subgenre. Like, once you watch it you see how it influenced every zombie movie that came after it.

Allison

I know it's not gonna win but Night of the Living Dead is THE most important and influential movie of the zombie subgenre! Definitely worth a watch this Halloween season, if for the historical value alone. And The Fly is very gross but so so excellent.

Allison

It probably wouldn't have won anyway, but nobody's going to vote for it when they're not even sure what they're voting for.

Richard Maurer

Is there a 2000 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers? That's news to me. Hopefully, we get the 1978 version which is the best version IMHO. Though, I also like the 1956 version as well.

Ron

Gots to be The Fly!

Scott

Cassie already promised to watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) on her last LIVE. The poll listing makes no sense.

Joe

"Constantine barely won over The Haunting of Hill House!" Am I in an alternate reality.......again?

Richard Maurer

The Swatter!

Richard Maurer

I have never seen Constantine, Zach has but I read the plot on Wikipedia and the movie sounds disgusting. But nobody should be beaten over the head with their movie or religious views. Zach and I are devout cath0|;C's. We don't agree with everything the church says. We also know other people's religious are but are not allowed to say. I have gotten rid of everything Zach was going to do for Constantine and thought I would share my experiences as a nurse who heals sick kids. I would rather pull at your heart strings with Constantine. Then anything else. I also know when you come into someone else's house you play by their rules.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

American Psycho? Really? Overrated.

Richard Maurer

Sorry. I was reacting to a fly in my room.

Ricardo Rodriguez

The Fly!!!!!

Ricardo Rodriguez

Will this finally be the year for The Fly? The way that movie has been dodged for two years going.

Alex Villarreal

I've been hoping for a Cujo reaction for a while. I think Cassie would be on the edge of her seat / bed in last part of the movie. Her motherly adrenaline would kick in I'm sure. I guess I'll have to wait for next year or so.

Shawn Kildal

but Trick or Treat (2007) is actually good.

Clint

Yeah, if she insisted on putting Blade in one of these horror polls it should have been in the "treat" ones, not this one. Underworld is scarier than Blade is, and Underworld really isn't scary at all.

Stranger2Reality

I love The Fly! but oh my is it a rough watch sometimes. Don't eat while watching!

Chris Arthur

None of these polls have made much sense.

Richard Maurer

“Why Me” by Kris Kristofferson https://youtu.be/1tA7E7pbUws?si=Sk3YAqkRYbDY2Jmx R.I.P.

Larry Darrell

Maybe? Or a superhero movie poll? or a mediocre vampire movie poll.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I adore Blade (1998), but I wouldn’t categorize it as a spooky film. While it freaked me out as a kid, now it’s just a badass film dripping with style. Blade II (2002) took things to the next level, delivering an even better experience, and it’s my personal favorite. Blade also played a crucial role in saving Marvel from bankruptcy, grossing over $131 million worldwide on a $45 million budget. Without its success, Marvel wouldn't have been able to lay the groundwork for the 2000s superhero film boom that followed with movies like X-Men (2000), Spider-Man (2002), and, of course, the entire MCU that began with Iron Man (2008). Films like X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man wouldn’t have existed without Blade convincing studios that movies centered on Marvel characters could be box office hits. Thankfully in our world Blade was a massive hit and gave way to the modern Superhero era of films. Blade, along with the sequel definitely deserves a watch, but I just don't think it's on the right poll.

LittleGalaxyBoy

Nah, go with Trick or Treat (1986). It has Skippy!

Mike Lemon

Cassie has already promised to watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), why is a 2000 version listed, this makes no sense.

Joe

Two comic book movies winning the horror movie polls is hilariously on brand for this channel. There always seems to be one incredibly popular movie in these polls that doesn't quite fit the category that everyone ends up voting for. Cassie should watch Blade, Daredevil and The Fantastic Four (2005) as part of her Marvel journey before watching Deadpool and Wolverine, but Blade is most definitely not a horror movie by any stretch. It's an action movie/comic book movie with vampires doing kung fu and shooting automatic weapons at each other. It's a horror movie like Twilight is a horror movie in that the only "horror" element is that there's vampires in it. At the very least this should have been in the "treat" category, not the supposedly scary poll.

Stranger2Reality

There are many reasons this year that She should watch Blade (1998). Kris Kristofferson’s passing is the most recent one. But there was an even Bigger reason that happened this year, that makes Blade a Perfect film for this October. Putting it in a Poll shouldn’t have happened.

Larry Darrell

I hope NotLD wins! A true classic horror must!

Seven Coughlin

At the very least blade belongs in the treat poll

Blue Collar Hero

She did make it through 'the thing' the gross factor it 'the fly' is about even, what's different is the paranoia vs romantic tragedy

Blue Collar Hero

What? Was just looking up how many Bade reactions there have been (over 20 BTW, so how about some variety voters?) and Kris Kristofferson died two days ago. Well that sucks.

Mike Lemon

Blade rip Kris Kristofferson

Brian Cowgill

Cujo to see Cassie react being a mother

Gary Osborn

It didn't save comic book movies, but it did save Marvel.

Bryan Fritchie

@Robert Lemond possibly because she didn't watch half of it

mikethemotormouth

Not on my watch sorry Zach and I differ on movies. He had no right to say what he did Blade make a good one. He needs to stop being like this just because his movie lost. I apologize Patrick

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Honestly, I picked BLADE just to see if Cassie would start dancing to that New Order remix in the club.

Steven Perez

Blade, in honor of Kris Kristofferson.

Rosanne Stewart

I haven't watched American Psycho yet, it's on my short list so if it is the one to win I'll have to bump it to the top.

David Kent

It's gotta be the Fly !

Gray

They're coming for you Barbra....

Chris Retzlaff

I was recommending it then too, and people were telling me she wouldn't watch it. Seems fitting that it could now win this poll and accomplish two goals.

Bryan Fritchie

I like the Blade pick, it wouldn't be bad for her to know who he is...great movie and Character

Chris Retzlaff

There is only one blade and will be only one blade

Chris Retzlaff

No, BLADE is a horror movie with superhero aspects. It definitely qualifies.

Patrick Flanagan

Blade is going to win by virtue of Deadpool I feel.

Scott Macaulay

I think she could handle the zombie stuff but not the dance sequence

Patrick Flanagan

Invasion of the Body Snatchers had Goldblum if that’s the one she meant

Scott Macaulay

Yup. The 1978 movie deserves a fair shot. I would consider it one of the better movies in the poll especially with the cast.

Scott Macaulay

Yeah, and even if that's what she meant, that one is from 2007, not 2000. Feels like she needs to redo this poll with the correct movie listed (or just watch the 1978 one in addition to whichever other ones on this list she ends up watching).

Stranger2Reality

This is like year 3 of asking for The Fly . You won't escape this year hahah

Philip G.

I think American Psycho would be more terrifying for her since it ends with so many unanswered questions, she did survive the 2017 It though

Robert Lemond

Oh yeah. I figured it was the Nicole Kidman one. It’s just called The Invasion though.

Scott Macaulay

It is very, very sad that Night of the Living Dead is doing so poorly. It is the best movie on this list.

Mark Vaderr

I don't think enough people have seen Dark Skies. That movie is really good

Katie Jackson

That was another remake, yes, but it was so awful most people seem unaware it even exists, but even then, it's just called The Invasion and it's from 2007, not 2000.

Stranger2Reality

I really don't think there is a 2000 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, as there is nothing on IMDB or Google about it. If she updates it to the 1978 version it would definitely get my vote. But I feel like a lot of people, like me, aren't voting for it because the wrong date is listed.

Stranger2Reality

I feel like Cassie enjoys Jeff Goldblum so much that she has to watch The Fly, even if it ruins him for her

Devon Caitlin

Cassie, not aware of any Invasion of the Body Snatches from the year 2000. There's the excellent original from 1956, the excellent 1978 remake, the 1993 BODY SNATCHERS and the 2007 version THE INVASION with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. Which one is this poll referring to?

Robert Jewell

My guess, because it's by far the most widely reacted-to and seemingly well-liked one, is that this is supposed to be 1978, and that the "2000" is a copy-paste error from American Psycho.

Tyler Foster

Blade too. Whoever is in her camp is not doing right this year. Both of these films should be absolutes this year.

Larry Darrell

Plus some folks consider “the Faculty” a loose remake as well.

Rick Moreno

Can’t vote for some reason. But I feel blade shouldn’t be on this poll. I often wonder who gives Cassie these Recommendations for her pills. Sometimes they are way off base with the films they include. The fly is just absolutely disgusting and Cassie will hate every single second of it. The rest of these movies I’m not to crazy about or haven’t seen yet. American psycho is my pick but I’m sure she will hate it haha

brooke atkins

She would have to return some videotapes after reacting to that I feel like she could handle Night of the Living Dead, after all she survived the 2017 It

Robert Lemond

How about the 50s and 70s versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers? Even the loose remake “the Faculty” is better than the 2000 version from what I hear.

Rick Moreno

Glad to see BLADE is winning since I was the one who recommended it during your DEADPOOL 2 reaction lol! Can't wait for you to react to that one, it's a classic 😁👍

Wesley White

Maybe she's thinking of 2007's The Invasion? Didn't that have a similar premise?

mikethemotormouth

There is no 2000 Invasion of the Body Snatchers -- and there are *four* Body Snatchers movies! The original: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) The second: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) The third: Body Snatchers (1992) The fourth: The Invasion (2007)

Tyler Foster

Best version imho

Zeroarmor7

Body snatchers 1978 still gives me chills.

Zeroarmor7

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) or (1978)? Not 2000, right?

Larry Darrell

Am I evil for wanting Cassie to watch RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (1985)?

T.J. Gengler

Looking at HALF of the stuff on this list i keep thinking "... why would you make her watch that?" lol

MrTickleTrunk

Blade is another comic book movie not a horror movie. Of course they are going to vote for a comic book movie they don't even know what a horror movie is. Night Of The Living Dead is a true horror movie. Who is coming up with these polls?

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

The Fly is on a whole different level than the rest of the films in the poll. Definitely classic Jeff Goldblum though I fear if Cassie were to watch it she wouldn't trust asking for recommendations any more.

David Kent

Blade will win this easy.

Richard Maurer

There was a pretty awful remake in 2007 with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig simply called The Invasion, but most people seem to be unaware it even exists, and the few I've ever talked to who saw it disliked it as much as I did.

Stranger2Reality

There's actually also another one from the '90s simply called "Body Snatchers."

Brandon Melling

Really wish we could get Trick or Treat (2007) in a poll.

Clint

They made a second reboot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers? I just watched the 1950's one the other day, but 1978 is my jam.

Brian's Dog

Please watch the 1978 version of invasion of the body snatchers

Jay

The Fly is one of the saddest movies ever, but most people just think of it as being disgusting (which it is). But if you do end up watching it, be sure to bring some tissues as well.

Stranger2Reality

American Psyhco is by far the best film on the list but what Kroenenberg does with the fly practical fx is pretty incredible.

JohnnyUtah

My vote's for The Fly. Especially because I feel like all three Blade movies are probably going to happen at some point down the line anyway with her Marvel journey

Brandon Melling

Night of the Living Dead is a bit slow but a must see just because of its influence on horror. Cujo is a favorite. One of the first Stephen King adaptations I remember seeing as a kid.

Shad Kanyak

Blade is my choice 😊

Robert da Spruce

The Fly might be a bit much for Cassie but I had to vote for it anyway.

T.J. Gengler

Why is The Fly in a poll after only losing its last poll by one vote? Should just watch it.

Richard Maurer

Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 2000? Did you mean 1978 or 1956? I'm not aware of one from 2000, but maybe I missed it?

Stranger2Reality

There wasn't an Invasion of the Body Snatchers in 2000 but I'm guessing you probably meant the 1978 version.

Brad P

Thoughts and prayers, Cassie, if The Fly wins.

FilmFanFred

The Fly is a great horror film but is fairly disgusting in parts. If you watch it, you're taking one for the team;) The first Blade was a great action movie with one of the best openings...

Lucien

American Psycho!!! That would be an epic reaction, but maybe it's not a good one for Cassie to watch.......Sussudio

Chris Retzlaff

Why not the superior 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers?

Scott Macaulay

Blade Don’t do the ritual ever

Neil Varma

Goldblum Goldblum he’s our man if he can’t do it no one can!!!

Ross Cicero

Oh Cassie, you’re not going to be able to handle The Fly 😂

Wolverine

COME ON, BRUNDLEFLY!!!

Jonathan Caro

My god blade for god sakes BLADE…the movie that saved comic book movies

Andrew Heller

The Fly / Blade - NO QUESTION! :)
