Upcomaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hey friends, sorry this week’s update is running behind! My parents have been visiting and we have had some kids night of the living puke. I am looking at my calendar right now and not sure how I am going to get through the next week and get everything done I need to. I need more hands, and brains. It will all work out I'm sure!

Ok this week. It’s beginning. We are here. I can seriously not even look at these posters without a shiver running down my spine. I am (very) nervously anticipating this Scary but not too Scary October (tm) I’m liking that we are going to change things up and get that blood pumping you know? Ask me if i’m still looking forward to it at the end of this week? To lighten things up, we also have a STAR TREK movie can you believe it!? Guess what i can't believe? KIRK AND PICARD TOGETHER! I don't think I knew worlds would be colliding, I'm also not sure how they can be, like logistically? I can't wait! No spoilers!

I just posted two polls. A TRICK poll here, and a TREAT poll here! These are going to be so fun, and we will do another one next week too! There are also some big ones already carved into the calendar as well (pun intended) (in blood). I'm scared.

In just a few days we have our Patreon Trivia Night!! Let's do this, you are all going ddddooowwwwnnnnn! It will be Monday night 9/30 7pm MST. Who is coming? Trivia night will be in place of our extra butter live this month. Ps-This Trivia night will be open to ALL patrons, free and paid. Get studying and clicking!

Also YT LIVE 10/4 Packages and Games and Giveaways!

Hope you have a great week, I still can't get over how fast September went by. Wake me up when it ends ;) JK Love you all!

See you at the movies!

Cassie

Comments

Larry, I caught that while I was lurking during the trivia live stream. It made my day, week, and month! A dream come true! Cassie is too good!

Mike LL

Cassie said last night in the Trivia, that Arsenic and Old Lace would be her Popcorn Pick of the Month. 😇

Larry Darrell

Looking forward to Generations dropping today. Been a long journey to get here.

Nick Thousan

The Haunting with Lil Taylor ??

Ranger Stardust-Kidd

The Frightners has an unfortunate past with Australia. It was released in Australia in 97, just about 1 year after a dark day in Australian history. It was banned in Tasmania because it hit too close to home and the perpetrator of that dark day bore an uncanny resemblance to the evil character in this movie. The only good thing about that day is that it gave the then Prime Minister the courage to ignore the gun lobby and institute tough gun laws that have resulted in zero similar events from being perpetrated in our country again. It is the same actor who also had an uncanny resemblance to the character he played in Contact.

Brian McGovern

Episode 8.

Brian McGovern

On her request site a few people have voted for Threads (1984) lol, no chance !

Gray

i've never done a first watch (movie or series) with a reactor before so this will a entirely new thing for me. Considering that I generally don't like people talking while I'm watching something new it may also be the last time I do this :-)

Richard Maurer

next challenge would be Exorcist, Clockwork Orange, REC The Descent, The Craft

Rene G.

While after this first Trick poll I do think they need to step up their game a bit, what you're asking for is like asking a amateur boxer to get in the ring with Mike Tyson

Richard Maurer

The schedule (not a hard schedule) for full reactions is usually Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. With her family in they got the first one on Friday, relax a bit.

Mike Lemon

Oh my gosh. I've been waiting for this for years. Finally haunting of Hill House! You're gonna love it!

Deth

You know what? Pretty soon, by next year or so, there's gonna be zero supplies of "Not too Scary yet scary movies" for her.. Time to go the deep end.

Rene G.

There you go, David. You can relax now

Butt Head

Well, on your list It:2 and especially Dr. Sleep are the two I'd agree with. In fact I like Dr. Sleep better than The Shining.

Richard Maurer

Not a chance in hell.

Stick Figure Studios

That would be great. She's been doing a lot of Spielberg lately.

Stick Figure Studios

Never thought she'd watch "The Thing", amd now we're getting Hill House...

Zeroarmor7

@Batman Shouldn't you be out saving Gotham?

Butt Head

Seconded. I know editing reactions takes hours but how long does it take out of one's day to upload a full-length reaction? Also Ben quit his job so he can be home all the time now

Batman

This'll be a rewatch for me, but I'm excited! It's really good!

Brandon Melling

Ok, OOOOK, everyone let's just calm down and agree on something we all know in our hearts is true, Lord of the Rings is the greatest achievement humanity has ever made.

Richard Maurer

The Frighteners was only an early attempt at making a horror comedy for a studio. His first three films as a independent in NZ, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, and Braindead (aka Dead/Alive in the US for copyright reasons), were all horror comedies. And, in the case of Brain Dead at the very least, funnier than The Frighteners.

Richard Maurer

There's another named Caitlin Marie aka shes scared channel. DOes a lot of unknown horror stuff. Cassie should just collab with them!!

Rene G.

A lot of people do enjoy them. I don't want a bunch of sequels either but 1 or 2 is not unreasonable out of 10+ horror reactions and there are some really good sequels out there.

Katie Jackson

Most sequels are unnecessary, and horror sequels are even more unnecessary than most.

Richard Maurer

Because I want a new upload sometime this week

Thin White Duke

Or maybe she was scared off by the barrage of people lying about how scary, or gory, Saw is, when in fact it's not really scary or gory.

Richard Maurer

Yup. Besides that, it's almost impossible to show much of what's happening on screen anyway and still stay "Youtube friendly." Reactions to either of those movies seems like they'd be a nightmare to edit and probably not worth it, especially because Cassie would 100% hate them anyway.

Brandon Melling

Some of the patrons convinced her it was worse than it really is, and some, if not most, of those people never saw it, I'm convinced. Based on their usual recommendations to Cassie I find it strange these people would suddenly go off and watch something like Saw

Richard Maurer

KatWatchesHorrorMovies did the first one, at least. And Tasha Tipton and numerous other smaller reactors have done them. that's about as good as it's going to get for reactions to Terrifier.

Richard Maurer

Have to agree with Richard. There are reactor channels out there I'm sure who'd be more than happy. I think "The Thing" is as far as she's willing to go and I think she's brave enough just for that.

Ortizmo2000

She's new to the Flannaverse. Not sure if she knows Bly Manor exists yet.

Chris Thom

Think she might actually enjoy that one. Joy Ride as well.

Chris Thom

I know I start to get anxious. lol

Chris Thom

Who was that last comment at? If it was me (the only one mentioning reddit- because I don't feel like giving out my email address and don't do other social media), you should read through some of my profile. If it was the other guy, well, fair enough.

Mike Lemon

It's only one day behind so far, so why the bunching?

Mike Lemon

I know Cass has family visiting but c'mon it's Friday already with no content

Thin White Duke

Lmao redditor weebs thinking they know anything about politics despite being completely sheltered

John A

Maybe she changed her mind. Or realised it wasnt a movie worth watching. Either way i'm fine with it. I hate those movies.

rakesh

yes to cube

rakesh

I really liked the first one. Even though I agree it doesn't feel exactly like Star Trek but more of a hybrid between Star Trek & Star Wars. The other 2 I can have some fun watching but they're definitely not my favorites

Katie Jackson

Cassie has watched a lot of movies on this channel, and it’s really just the tip of the iceberg.

Dan M

Cassie said she'd been planning to watch it for a few years but kept backing out. Not sure if it was ever on a poll. I think someone she knows told her a bit about it.

Chris Thom

Oh right. This was directly before his symptoms started showing. He must've been so panicked. Poor guy. His documentary was really interesting if you haven't seen it yet. Think it was on Apple Plus.

Chris Thom

Bly Manor feels the most like a book to me. Out of the Flannigan shows.

Chris Thom

Lol, same. It's kind of mind-blowing how many movies there actually are.

Chris Thom

Did you like the JJ Abrams remakes?

Chris Thom

Jackson really used those same ghost effects in LOTR. I didn't even realize it was the same director until that scene in Return of the King. Was like 'oh that looks really familiar for some reason'.

Chris Thom

@Mark - If all the anime you are watching is "creepy and perverted", that says more about you than anything. Also, you should study up on your politics, it appears to be surface level at best. If you would like to discuss it, and can be civil, send me a DM over on reddit- u/MikeLemon

Mike Lemon

Yes exactly... and you let out a final breath... into sweet sweet oblivion... and smiling

Mannygogou

Cass, I love the titles of these posts. And you make me want to watch Star Trek movies... awesome list this week!

Mannygogou

Like laying on a cloud.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Yes, each episode is more beautiful than the last. Each one an embrace... and slowly you stop fidgeting. Feel each limb become heavier and heavier as you become totally relaxed...

Mannygogou

I love the tempo of that movie. It's very intense 🤩🤩

Björn Karlsson

Oh also The Haunting came out that year too. Forgot about that one. That had a TON of CGI and effects and way more nods to the Shirley Jackson story. Definitely an influential book over the years. Adaptations vary wildly though.

Chris Thom

It's definitely surreal watching the movie and knowing he's about to die for real. Kind of surprised they left his segment in after everything. The movie as a whole is good though. Each story is VERY different.

Chris Thom

So curious if she'll like it or not. Really not sure on that one. Some of the more tragic themes might be hard on her. But overall would think she'd appreciate how well-written and well-made it is.

Chris Thom

Anyone seen the one with Anthony Hopkins and Benicio? Was that any good?

Chris Thom

I also think Scream 2 should happen.

Chris Thom

My cousins and I just watched that movie last night

Vlad D

Duel, Duel, Duel, Duel, Duel, Duel….🚗. 🚛. sorry! I am a broken record! But I’m persistent! 😆

Mark White

Dead Ringers - it showed up being Canadian. I remember the title but not so much the movie. The Dead Zone (1983)

Mannygogou

Yeah that's right 🫣😬🙂

Björn Karlsson

She's reacted to much stronger and darker things that had less emotion and meaning. She'll be okay I think.

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, HILL HOUSE it's fantastic, but I actually prefer MIDNIGHT MASS.

Stick Figure Studios

Not a chance in Hell.

Stick Figure Studios

She reacted to AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

Stick Figure Studios

Since this erupted into a big political debate after my above comment, I just want to clarify that my opposition to all these Star Trek reactions has nothing to do with politics, but rather is just because I haven't watched the show, so it's just been tons of uploads with no interest for me. Anytime Cassie reacts to something I haven't seen I just skip the reaction, since I'd just be lost watching it, and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that. If I do end up seeing it later, I'll go back and watch her reaction. For me the issue with devoting so many reaction videos to one thing is it basically means for the people who haven't seen it, they won't be interested in those videos. If that's just one movie, then no big deal, on to the next one. But when it's a series of about 50 videos, that's a lot to have to skip. Other shows she's done in the past were only a couple videos total, but this was pretty crazy. I really hope she doesn't do this with any other long running shows like this just for this reason. For all the fans of Next Gen who have loved all this content, just imagine if next time she did this with some show you didn't care about and it went on and on every week for months. I'm glad it's finally over and hope this is it for these long running shows.

Stranger2Reality

No, but on October 17, 2022 it was announced to be watched - "ALSO just FYI still coming this month are SAW, Tremors, Sleepy Hollow and Ghost muhahaha"

Mike Lemon

Those movies are vile.

Chris Thom

Often classy, sometimes sassy Cassie, So I being told what to write here through text so bear with me. Hill House is a great series we just thought this would be too much for you people change I get it. Frighteners is not scary at all. This is a story Eva loves and she hates horror flicks I had a 110 horror movies that are now gone. 😭 Sold off piece by piece. However the Frighteners she likes. She likes to imagine..... Well we will save it till after you watch it. Now yesterday I gave some horror ambience. This one we thought you and Ben would like we like to sleep to this is 11 hours of Fall. https://www.youtube.com/live/PgM8GNLXVS4?si=IcTCqDoDuSGInF-s We thought this was more to your liking. So both of us were a little shocked about the movie Constantine being on your list of movies. This deals with the Catholic Church, Demon hunting this surprised us. I guess we're at a loss. We both thought it was totally unlike you. We both think you will love Star Trek Generations we really couldn't get into the story. But what do we know? We both think you should watch Scream 2. I mean it's not that scary and I remember specifically watching in the theater and everyone yelling no f-ing way at the end. Scream it's influence on today's pop culture is huge and it's still going on even today. The third thing we need to mention is the gift yes I bought it with my card but she paid the bill and picked it out. Like I know anything about that. Just know that..... Ok I am being told to stop there my next video will be Tuesday and I am supposed to discuss it then. We both think you have been a rock star lately. She told me she understands dealing with sick kids and being puked on. She gets it. She gets puked on at least once a week. We wish you and Ben and your family that's there nothing but our ❤️ and support. Just know we are always 🙏

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Is all anime creepy and perverted? No, just the vast majority as far as I can see.

Mark

It's been well known for decades where Star Trek sits politically. On the side of human rights and advancement. On the Left.

Mark

Cry harder, lib.

Mark

Cassie barely has the time to get the 3 movies a week watched.

Joe

Her YT edits are excellent, the editor(s) do a great job. Most everything I've seem already so I don't bother with the watch-a-longs.

Joe

No need to watch any earlier films, she doesn't need any spoilers or background for the Hill House series.

Joe

i really don't think that's a good idea. Those films are one step away from Cannibal Holocaust territory.

Richard Maurer

Please, one Scream movie is one too many.

Richard Maurer

I'm sure she'll survive.

Richard Maurer

Same.

Mike LL

YES!!!! Finally watching Hill House!!

Audrey

wow, John, you have crappy taste then.

Rene G.

Hill House is some properly written horror.

Bryan Erickson

Since October is coming, how about some Terrifier movies? Art the Clown makes PEnnywise look like McDonald's!

Rene G.

Saw made it as the winner in the polls?

Rene G.

Saw made it to the poll list??

Rene G.

I also recommend Clockwork Orange. There's no scary in it. Just "disssturbing" Also, Rob Zombie's 1000 Corpses trilogy.

Rene G.

I'm not making any movie "mandatory" these are just suggestions. As of right now, Cassie doesn't feel comfortable watching The Exorcist. That might change one day, it might not. At the end of the day it's her choice what she wants to watch. There's plenty of other things for her to react to.

Katie Jackson

Saw is great. Disturbing but not too scary.

Kyle

Worlds end!!

Kyle

I've been oh hiatus but I'll rise out of the dead for Haunting of Hill House ! * pokes head out of the grave

Mannygogou

I agree to creating a buffer of at least a months worth of movies. Life gets in the way sometimes.

rakesh

I don't care if she refuses this one, But I'd have mandatory of her watching Exorcist since she already desensitized to violence of kickass

Rene G.

REC, The Desent, John Carpent'er's Vampires, remake of Village of the Damned, 1994 Body snatchers, The Substance with Demi Moore for next year!

Rene G.

The Howling!

Rene G.

I don't think I've seen Cassie react a werewolf movie - Dog Soldiers 😊😊😊

Björn Karlsson

Both corny compared to the MCU movies between Iron Man and End Game

John Cranberry

Alita battle angel is such an underrated film.

John Cranberry

RIP Cassie after watching the first Episode of Haunting of Hill House.

John Cranberry

Bit of a stretch.

Richard Maurer

Love Peter Jackson, but this movie is not scary.

Richard Maurer

I've never gotten around to watching Hill House. I guess now is the time.

Richard Maurer

Arcane amazing show Alita battle angel Colombiana

Michael Gustafsson

Blade & Blade 2

Philip Alan

Blade should be a must watch!

CallMeWheels

World's End! World's End! World's End!

Jakob Rygh

Yep, I always get over confident with my knowledge of movies, and then I get humbled real quick.

Dan M

Uh oh…that might hit hard for me. Thanks for the heads up.

Dan M

yeesh. i say take a beat if you need it. also kudos for tackling Bly Manor😳

Ignis Rændl

And very different from The House on Haunted Hill from 1959!

Ben Livingstone

Yes. Thank you.

Ricardo Rodriguez

That would be a good one for both since it's all about family. Seems unlikely that it will actually happen though. Actually not sure if Cassie will make it all the way through.

Chris Thom

Still haven't seen that one. But the title is burned in my memory from Scream. "The one with ET's mom in it."

Chris Thom

It can be hard to find a copy for some of these. Or expensive. And a full two hours of sync-up is a time investment.

Chris Thom

The only one I'd seen at the time was House on Haunted Hill from the late 90's. Very, very different from the show. lol

Chris Thom

Little Monsters might be the most disturbing movie for tweens ever made.

Chris Thom

Thought I'd never heard of the House movies. But looking back I remember Randy referencing them in Scream 2.

Chris Thom

Lol. It's actually a light comedy with Sandra Bullock. Most people don't know that.

Chris Thom

carly-safe Ⓡ should be an official MPAA rating.

ArsTropica

Yeah I don't think she's done even one horror sequel yet. Shows where her head is at with these. lol

Chris Thom

That poster was always a bit misleading. Lol. I remember thinking the same thing as a kid. But it's more like a Ghostbusters-with-an-edge kind of scary. Not too bad at all.

Chris Thom

Excited for Generations! Guess that movie poster was a bit of a spoiler, eh?

Ike

I know The Haunting of Hill House seems scary but I think you're going to love it. It is so beautifully shot and there's a lot of really cool Easter eggs (keep your eyes peeled because you're going to catch some really cool things from episode-to-episode). Outside of Stranger Things, it's one of my favorite all-time Netflix series. I really hope you end up enjoying it.

OneManReactionFaction

Lololol

T. Loo

Cassie, “The Frighteners” isn’t scary at all. Think “Tremors” level of scary. I think it’s Carly-safe and would lend itself nicely to a sisters reaction.

Just Plain Bob

I think The Fog would be perfect for Cassie and even Carly. She’s watches scarier than that.

Geoff S.

I recommended The Good Son as well, and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. I think Carly could do either of those

Cole Jennett

Super fun and creative movie.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Everyone please let Cassie know that The Haunting is easy lightfare that she can watch with the light off and no one home. Totally stress free and relaxed.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Just make sure you look up and watch alternate ending of star trek generations after watching movie

Jeremy

I've never been able to bring myself to watch Twilight Zone: The Movie after seeing a documentary about the on-set tragedy that took the lives of actor Vic Morrow and the two little kids. They had footage of the accident in the documentary and I don't ever want to see it again.

David Collins

Can't wait to be Frightened.

YodatheHobbit

Great selections. Everyone rags on Nothing But Trouble (1991), but it was a favorite of mine growing up, as well as all those. Nothing But Trouble is hilarious and a bit creepy too, but in a fun way.

Larry Darrell

Yeaaaasaaa “THE FRIGHTENERS” noooo waaaay! 😍💯🔥🔥🔥🔥

Shaun Myers

So in my opinion, the "Scariest but not too Scary" movie for Cassie and Carly is…”The Tao Of Steve” (2000). Technically it is a comedy but it is a frightening look into male centric dating philosophy. Kind of like Will Smith’s “Hutch”, but with a smaller cast and set in the Southwest of the US.

Uncle Phoenix

I think we will get It: Chapter 2.

Joe

I recommend House (1985) and House 2:The Second Story (1987)...as scary, not scary and fun.....I cannot remember if I watched past 2. I haven't seen either in years but something made me think of them. Twighlight Zone: The Movie is also one you should watch/can handle. I also recommend Nothing But Trouble....with Chevy Chase, Demi Moore, Dan Aykroyd and John Candy as a scary/not scary movie

Joel Wayne

This feels like deja vu, but what the hay, Love Abbott and Costello, especially this movie with all of the Universal movie monsters that make an appearance in it👍

David Bockly

I'd still pay to see this flick!

Frank Edwards

Since your saying it again, so will I, what a Classic movie!

Louisa Moritz

Reposted from the "Welcome" (?) thread : I know it's old like me, but how about Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein for Scary But Not To Scary October? It is old school comedy/horror at it's best that even Carly could handle/enjoy ! 😅

Sam Wilson

Since everyone is giving suggestions for not so scary here's my list : The Good Son ( Elijah wood & Macaulay Culkin) Secret Window (Johnny Depp) Little Monsters (Fred/Ben Savage & Howie Mandel )

Philip G.

Haunting of Hill House is one of the best shows of all time, without exaggeration. I'm looking forward to it

brismithejedi

Hey, Cassie. Looking forward to some of these. Since you're already looking at "Star Trek: Generations," I'll reiterate what I said on the last Star Trek video post. A lot of very significant events in the Star Trek universe take place in the spinoff series, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," aka DS9, which at this point in your TNG journey has already been going for two seasons. A third will have aired, by the time you get to "Generations." These events will be heavily referenced in nearly all subsequent materials, still to this day. If you want to keep up on continuity, I recommend that you take a break from TNG after "Star Trek: Generations," and spend some time getting caught up on DS9. If you do not, there are a number of things in the remaining three TNG movies that won't make any sense to you. Seasons one through three can be breezed through, with just a few key episodes, if you don't want to make too big of a detour. Season four, which takes place between the first and second TNG movies, is when DS9 will begin to directly intertwine with the TNG side of the universe, and they will remain intertwined for their durations. The second, third and fourth TNG movies will still be entertaining without first seeing DS9, but you will have nagging questions. For the sake of getting the full enjoyment out of them, as well as experiencing what some fans consider to be the best of all Star Trek television series (even better than "The Next Generation"!), I really think a trip through "Deep Space Nine" would be well worth your while.

Joe Jupiter

I think she might prefer the Marx Brothers. And I’m rooting for her to get into the Planet of the Apes series. (Also high on my wish list for Cassie: 2001 A Space Odyssey, Five Easy Pieces and The Blues Brothers.)

jdj830

Hopefully she at least picks up on the movie after the series, if not before!

Ben Livingstone

We need to get through Tremors 2 and then 3. 3 wasnt any good, but the immature child in me wants to see the facial expression to the name of the monsters in number 3.

Miguel

When I was younger, Generations was not really my thing, I didnt hate it, but it was just sorta there. As Ive gotten older Ive come to appreciate it more.

Miguel

night of the living puke sounds even scarier than Night of the Living Dead,...maybe because it's in color.

Paul Stelter

She might

Katie Jackson

I am a scaredy cat and I didn't watch The Frighteners probably because of the poster. I wish I had seen it sooner. I really love The Frighteners. It's my kind and level of "scary".

Jennifer Medicus

It's a pity she's watching Hill House without seeing the original movie. Ah, well.

Ben Livingstone

Unpopular opinion. Cassie might like Generations more than First Contact.

John Sullivan

I think you did a good job - but I'm not a horror fan lol

John Sullivan

Actually, BEYOND is my favorite Kelvin movie. If it helps you, pretend that it is not a Star Trek movie. Then it becomes a pretty dang good action movie!

Mike LL

"I need more brains"? Pshaw! Completely unnecessary for reactors! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7dFCKIoNQFI :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Me too!🖖 I think I missed a few potential sequels for a poll though. I went ot Cassie's Horror Playlists on her YouTube page but I'm not sure they're all there. Feels like a few are missing🤷‍♀️

Katie Jackson

Insurrection gets a bad rap. I've always liked it.

Tater

Sure they can. It’s an opinion and everyone has their own, particularly when it comes to arts and entertainment. I actually like Star Trek, particularly the original series. But some of the comments that have been made in support of it are ridiculous (such as calling those that don’t like it “right wingers”). Tastes vary. Some people don’t like it, and they should be able to say so without people insulting them.

Just Plain Bob

I enjoyed a lot of those BTW. Tremors needs more love. But I'm SO excited for Cassie to get to Generations and the incredible First Contact ❤️

John Sullivan

Figured if I was gonna suggest it, I'd at least go back and see what was already reacted to😆

Katie Jackson

I was wrong. Search "Generations Overture" to feel feels ❤️

John Sullivan

Well sorry about your suffering through Star Trek, but many of us can't wait for Cassie to react more since she "gets" everything about Star Trek - hope, peace, tolerance, kind to all, and mankind's possible future when we can travel fast enough. Plus technobabble that are referenceable in or adopted by our science and technology community. 14 movies and nearly 1000 TV episodes and long list of comics can't be wrong.

Tech Citizen

That is very detailed lol

John Sullivan

**Searches for Star Trek Generations OST** **Closes eyes and lays back to enjoy**

John Sullivan

Låt den rätta komma in/Let the right one in 😀😀

Björn Karlsson

It shouldn't need to be said, but don't ever do that [unless it is a squirt gun (except in Canada) or a cap gun, maybe a staple gun].

Mike Lemon

Why would she interact during the movie? She’s watching the movie.🤷‍♂️

Cole Jennett

"There are also some big ones already carved into the calendar" Saw (2004)!? Can the longest "coming this week" finally be coming to an end? (fingers crossed)

Mike Lemon

She got pretty close to watching both of those last year.

Chris Thom

Just a suggestion, but maybe a Horror Sequels Poll. I'd be happy to get at least 1 sequel to something already reacted to. Then I'm ok if everything else is original movies this season. There are some good ones to choose from. *Poltergeist 2 *A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 or 3 *28 Weeks Later *Tremors 2 *Halloween 2(1980) *Psycho 2 Less Likely 😆 *Scream 2 *It Chapter 2 *Doctor Sleep (The Shining 2) Could be fun🤷‍♀️

Katie Jackson

"I need more ... brains." Working with brains is disgusting, luckily mayonnaise and Ivory soap makes a good substitute. But unless the remark was about a plan to make leather, that doesn't really help you.

Mike Lemon

@Mark - What's wrong with anime? Iria is good, Lodoss War is great, Gosick was interesting, High School of the Dead was one of the better zombie shows, DBZ is classic, Bofuri was surprisingly good, Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. had some amazing episodes, Which Hunter Robin...

Mike Lemon

I love all the Star Trek movies except 5. I never really understood some of the hate this one gets. I don't agree with all of the creative directions this one takes(after Cassie sees it she should watch some of the deleted scenes) but it's still very enjoyable and still gives that hopeful feeling that I usually get from Star Trek. I think Cassie will still love it overall. I haven't seen The Frighteners in awhile. I remember the basic storyline but I've forgotten quite a bit. Should make for a fun rewatch. I've never seen The Haunting Of Hill House. I had it spoiled for me when it first came out😔 I'll probably try and watch that one too. Cassie watching scary movies and Halloween themed movies has easily became one of my favorite parts of the year. Can't wait for what's ahead. I'm definitely coming to Trivia Night but I expect I'll get my butt kicked again. Oh well, It's still fun and you never know. Looking forward to the Live too. Always fun to just hang out and see what all Cassie got😆 Is Carly gonna make it to the Live? I know it helps when she's there. Alright! Bring on the Pumkins Spice, Fall Leaves and Scary But Not Too Scary Reactions! 🍁🎃🍁🪓🍁

Katie Jackson

All of Japanese media can be a pain because of their copyright rules.

Mike Lemon

I'm sorry Mark, but I must disagree,,, The Wire is the greatest achievement humanity has ever made

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

@Mark Since we’re apparently ignoring Cassie’s ban on political discussion and her admonition to be nice, I’m curious as to how far the link between taste in entertainment and one’s political beliefs go. What about fans of Star Wars? Are they lefties or righties? What if you thought “The Next Generation” was so-so but “TOS” and “Deep Sapce Nine” were awesome? What if you like “The Next Generation” but also enjoy “Vampire Hunter D” (anime)? Does that make you a moderate or just confused? Please explain more about our beliefs to us, oh guru of film and politics. We just want to understand ourselves as well as you seem to.

Just Plain Bob

I always think of it as more of a drama. But there's definitely some good jumps in there. And quite a bit of sadness, frankly.

Chris Thom

I think that Last Year’s reaction to Zombieland is what changed my mind on Scary October.

Uncle Phoenix

I really hope not. But would guess that it is.

Chris Thom

I started looking forward to it last January. lol

Chris Thom

Hill House is well worth seeing. Might be a tough watch as a dad though. Parts of it get very sad with that family. Especially with one of the daughters.

Chris Thom

Great story by Shirley Jackson. She was very talented. There's also a really interesting movie about her that came out not to long ago called 'Shirley' with Elizabeth Moss. It's like a creative fiction telling of her own life.

Chris Thom

Hoping you are going to watch the Director’s cut for the Frightners. I just checked it’s not available digitally. Only on the blu ray & one if the old DVDs. At least in your reaction please let us know which version you are watching. Thank you

Walter Crockett

Haunting of Hill House will be fantastic. Awesome mix of scares, family drama, supernatural and psychology. Hits on cylinders. One of my favorite series ever.

Chris Thom

Gee-wiz, got a lot going on, sorry about the kids "kids night of the living puke" haha that's a good one🤣 Hope the family is doing well! I just saw your trick or treat polls, you for certain got some really good ones on there! Thanks for notifiying that you'll be doing another one next week, I hope Van Helsing will make that next poll lol! Man, I really want to participate in those game nights you do, but every time it's always on a day I work😭lol! Though your YT Live will also be on a day I work, but I may pop in during my break and say "Hi"😁 Seems like every year towards the end, it always goes by fast, still can't believe my birthday was 3 days ago lol, BTW thank you so much for the birthday wishes again Cassie, you're a sweetheart and it means the world to me, thank you thank you🙏 Loved your reaction to HOT FUZZ and HIGHLANDER despite your opinion about that lol! I've never heard of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, hmm 🤔 THE FRIGHTENERS, an early attempt by Peter Jackson, and I've never seen it, so this will be special, however I know he makes a cameo, keep your eyes open for that lol! Hope you have a great week as well, love and support, you and Carly are the best, can't wait for this years Scary but Not Too Scary reaction season, fingers crossed for Van Helsing to be voted on the next poll, and God bless y'all and the family🥰😇🙏🤗😁😉👍✌🌹 P.S. Now that you've pretty much done the entire Star Trek series this year, may I suggest next year you get started in another series to react to, that being THE THREE STOOGES 🥺🤞🤣😇🙏

Wesley White

Cool if it ain't your thing, but why so dismissive? Cassie would be the first to fight you on that opinion.

Pickupthepieces76

That is true. I would suggest bailing out after First Contact. End on a high note.

jdj830

Everything listed is amazing. This should be fun.

Shad Kanyak

Omg, The Frighteners. What a great pick. It's a sleeper and even though the cover scared Cassie she is gonna love it for sure.

Pickupthepieces76

Never participated in any of those trivias. Seems like they’re always at a bad time for us European cats🙄 same with the other lives. Oh well.

Shehab Dawoud

The Kelvin universe breaks that trend since 2 and 3 were straight trash

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

#Greenday 😉

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

The hangouts yes, the 0 interaction with chat watchalongs no.

Daniel Karlsson

She secretly likes scary October...don't tell anyone (haha).

Joe

Lmao liberals can't stop making everything about politics. Most insufferable hypocrites on the planet, and this star trek dork thinks he can insult anyone 😂

John A

No one's forcing you, friendo

Mark

Star Trek is the greatest achievement humanity has ever made. Go watch anime, right wingers.

Mark

Kirk and Picard, how? Easy. Timey wimey stuff. Happens all the time 😁

Mark

Thanks for the spoiler Matt, some of us don't have the watch-along tier.

Joe

Actually the Extra Butter crew have Cassie's ear for making recommendations

Thin White Duke

If she didn't like the first she really won't like the second

Thin White Duke

Let the scaries begin, always fun...for us anyway.

Joe

At least all the reactions to the TV show are finally coming to an end. The movies are much more palatable and there's only 7 of them remaining, as opposed to the 50ish reactions she did to that show.

Stranger2Reality

Trivia Night hurts my brain (haha), to many ringers in the bunch, but I'll hang-out anyways for the fun.

Joe

I like what's on Patreon this week gets to YT (mostly) always the following week. Some delays from time to time are of no concern, for me anyway.

Joe

I would add Of Unknown Origin (1983)

Thin White Duke

Great idea to seek out light-horror and Carly-friendly-horror-adjacent for October. You should enjoy movies not suffer movies

Thin White Duke

Midnight Mass from the same creator is a banger also IMO.

Joe

Haunting of Hill House, YES.....

Joe

Three excellent choices. Nobody spoil Hill House for her!

Odd Thomas

Hill House is SCARY, scary.

Kyle

I have access but for some reason I never get around to watching until it hits YouTube.

Roger Banks

If you have access to full reactions, she posted the full reaction to Highlander yesterday.

Clay F

Hill house is incredible and you're going to love it I just know it!

JohnnyUtah

Another suggestion for a poll for Scary But Not Too Scary. How about a poll of offbeat/different kinds of scary movies? For example, “Hausu”, “Dellamorte Dellamore” (aka “Cemetery Man”) and “Suspiria.”

Just Plain Bob

Unless you just want to support the channel with more $. Also, the live events can be enjoyable.

Clay F

You are going to love the Frighteners. Clever story and well executed.

Jason Mangen

Highlander !! Finally!

Roger Banks

Can't wait until lame ass star trek stops taking up your time

John A

As much as she hated Scream, my guess is the Scream franchise is over on the channel.

Clay F

Cozy Hoodies; Pumpkin Spice Lattes; and Cassie’s screams. Mmmm, so nice.

Uncle Phoenix

The Haunting of Hill House is an excellent choice for a series. Thanks for choosing that. You should like Generations at least some. Not my favorite, In contrast, First Contact is excellent.

Clay F

Haunting of hill house!!!!! This will be amazing

Liam K

Hope there’s a poll upcoming that includes “The Howling.” It really deserves a reaction.

Just Plain Bob

Have you ever fired your gun up in the air and gone "Upcomaaaaaahhhhh"?

BibbitduBois

If she's only going to subject herself to horror films in October, I'd rather she go with more time-tested titles from the genre rather than more increasingly shallow sequels from various franchises from the genre.

Byrd N. Hand

Also Dee Wallace (the mom from "E.T."... and also "The Howling" and "Cujo") and Jake Busey (son of Gary).

Byrd N. Hand

Much like you, I'm not a huge horror fan either. That being said, Frighteners was fantastic. \

Yaisu

I’m afraid that whatever you’re imagining the Kirk/Picard meeting to be is definitely more iconic than what happens in the movie. Even though it doesn’t have a number in the title, ST Generations is technically ST VII and the odd/even rule still holds. It tells a sad story in an underwhelming way. But the good news is that the movie after this, First Contact, is excellent. Don’t lose faith!

jdj830

10/4 is a Friday. Unusual we're doing a live on that day.

Shawn Kildal

Yes, Haunting of Hill House. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Danny (Icarus)

Any chance your sister joins you for Hill House? The more the merrier on that one!

Holly R

Oh my god I’m so happy you’re watching hill house. My wife is usually not a horror fan at all but she loves the series too, such a good drama with well written characters.

Patrick Fitzgerald

I sure hope not. I would love to see her do a reaction to that!

Cody Nelson

I haven’t seen The Frigheners or The Haunting of Hill House. But based on your descriptions, I’m looking forward to them even more now 👍

Dan M

It’s becoming one of my favorite things about the fall season.

Dan M

I’d like to see a poll of Canadian horror films for Scary But Not Too Scary. Films could include: Ginger Snaps The Changeling (1980) My Bloody Valentine (original) Cube Pontypool Terror Train (starring Jamie Lee Curtis) Black Christmas Videodrome

Just Plain Bob

I am SO EXCITED that you're watching The Haunting of Hill House. As miniseries' go, it may just be the best I have ever seen!

Justin Samlal

As you are struggling so often to get your content out in time, perhaps it would be an idea to pause one week, record all your reactions, and post them in the following week. So you would always have a buffer of a week and could react more flexible to happenings in your private life, copyright struggles, etc. Would be more predictable for us patrons also. Just my two cents. I will always support your great channel. PiB forever! :-)

Jeri1979

I guess Scream 2 is out of the question? 😬

Nick Ireland

I think I remember seeing this tribute, but I’m not 100% sure. Can’t wait to check it out later tonight. Thanks for this.

Dan M

Cassieeeeeeeeee! Here we go! Let the scares begin! I have not seen The Frighteners or The Haunting of Hill House, so those will be a nice trick and treat. Love how you threw some October puns in your post (intentional or not)…night of the living puke, you need more hands and brains (imagine what that costume would look like), get the blood pumping (or spurting). I love that you’re starting TNG movie series. I’ll admit I wasn’t a fan of TNG tv series, but I love the movies. And Generations is an awesome way to pass the baton on to the new crew. Count me in for trivia night! I’m keeping my hopes up that I’ll do well, but I’m also prepared to take a serious beating. Either way, I’m excited and it should be a lot of fun.

Dan M

Been meaning to watch The Frightners and Haunting of Hill House so this is perfect, also might watch your Hot Fuzz reaction again as it was so fun.

Gray

This will be the third year that I've recommended "The Changeling", from 1980, starring the late George C. Scott in one of the best haunted house movies ever.

George Haselden

Wow, Hill House terrified the crap out of me. My prayers are with you!

Molly Campbell

NOBODY should watch the cinematic sequels. The TV series is pretty great, for the most part. Duncan >>> Connor, in my opinion.

Matt Rose

Personally I think you’d enjoy the love story of Bly Manor more but honestly all Flannigan shows are great. Looking forward to Hill House.

aarswft

So she definitely will not be watching any Highlander sequels, probably for the best!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Cassie, The Haunting Of Hill House? Ummm that's pretty scary my prayers are with you on that one. Here is something nice just for you Cassie I realize it came out two weeks ago but still you have to love it right Swift- Kelce how can you go wrong? https://youtu.be/vy6ZaC3wgJg?si=EIoLuwPAk4LTKg1X Moving on remember to open that package from me right away. There are a lot of coupons in there to who knows what. Eva said she left everything in their. And added something. I realize I probably should have checked things in there but I just wanted to get it shipped. With Halloween coming up normally the leaves are turning. Friday 13th was just a couple of weeks ago in honor of that here is some Friday 13th Crystal Lake ambience. https://youtu.be/86Ce9iQHOm0?si=h67DVR3SsjD3t3Pm As always Cassie our ❤️ and 🙏are with you and Ben and Carly+Family

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

The Frighteners .. I love this movie so much. Peter Jackson before he became famous with lord of the rings and Michael Fox after back to the future

Devilfrog

I missed it?! What's wrong with me.... thank you!

Maria Soberanis

I am so happy that you are watching The Haunting of Hill House. I think you're gonna love it even though it will scare you. Please watch more of Mike Flanagan's work after this. Because it's all so amazing.

Kevin Carroll

If you mean The Mummy Returns, they already reacted to that last year.

Gábor Árki

So excited for Generations and Frighteners!

John

Wow, hill house I actually really enjoyed. Generations of course and The Frightners. love that movie. it was filmed in NZ dontcha know. All in all a really good week of upcoming stuff!

rakesh

I know it's a little early for Halloween, but I thought I'd post this clip from the Oscars 2010, when they did this really good montage tribute to classic horror! I like to watch it every Halloween night.. along with GHOSTWATCH! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OPCOa2mkN8

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Cassie you are killing it today! Hill House is one of the top 5 best shows ever made. Its now a yearly watch for me. Its so much more than a haunted house story, but the 5 stages of grief personified by each one of the kids. Im praying for you since there is "quite" a scare in there somewhere. And that ending... Im not crying, youre crying.

Blake Evans

Wow, I'm pretty excited about this line up. I've actually never seen Hill House and it's on my list. I guess we can watch it "together".

Walter

HILL HOUSE! YES! 👻

Steven Perez

Finally ready for 'Hill House',jump scares and mind blowers abound! You're going to need Ben at your side for only the first 10eps.🔥💀😱prayers going out!! You do have our moral support behind you all the way Cassie! 👻❤

Celeste McAllister

She liked elements of the film but not the whole package. Just not her bag.

Matt Rose

Extra butter really not worth it

Daniel Karlsson

See you and everyone else at Trivia and I believe you will get thru October and enjoy it a lot more now that you've gone through it a few times.

David Freese

Hoping for Mummy 2 this year

Maria Soberanis

Can't wait for Generations 🙌

Chrissonator

I must say that I am starting to look forward to October and Cassie’s scary reaction videos.

Uncle Phoenix

Oh, this'll be a fun week. So Glad that you're finally arrived at the TNG movies, but try to remember that GENERATIONS is a transitional work, it's the handoff from the original series to the new one. There are certain elements of it I don't like (and which I suspect you won't as well), but it's a good film that I enjoy overall. THE FRIGHTENERS is a fun, imaginative horror-comedy by Peter Jackson. I Don't think you have to be too afraid of it. I've always found it more funny than scary, but your mileage may vary. THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE will definitely scare you, but I think it will also move you (as it did me). It is a very thoughtful and emotional story (as those told by writer / director Mike Flanagan tend to be; he is one of my favorite current directors and I think the best maker of scary cinema right now). Looking forward to all this. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Starting the ST movies! Engage! I think you will have a fun time watching THE FRIGHTENERS! It is a really different movie, perfectly fits the Not Too Scary definition! It's a blast!

Mike LL

Always good to see your updates, Cassie. Will Gozilla Minus One be reuploaded? That was my favorite reaction in a long time. Toho can be a real pain to deal with

Raj K. Dixit

What happened to no spoilers

LDC7080

Hill house might be too much.. I’m worried

Neil Varma

HILL HOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Diiirk706

Your going to love frighteners . It’s ace

LDC7080

I enjoyed the “Haunting of Hill House” tv series, but really wish Cassie watched “The Haunting” (1963) first. They’re both based on the same source material (“The Haunting of Hill House” by Shirley Jackson) but I really believe the original film is the best haunted house movie ever made.

Just Plain Bob

I am so excited for everything on here!!! Ahhh!! I’ve been waiting for you to get to the next gen movies. First Contact and Insurrection are my favorite. Eeee!!!

Lesley and Zack

STAR TREK TNG MOVIES!!!. Generations is decent but important. Then First Contact (which is actually appropriate for scary but not too scary season) which is easily the best of the TNG movies and my 2nd favorite ST movie period. As I'm sure you've been told The Frighteners is from Peter Jackson and is a glimpse into his horror film roots. Haunting of Hill House will scare you so, so much, but you'll also have as much tears of sadness, joy as you will fear by the end of the series

Choof

Hey Cassie: thanks for giving HIGHLANDER a go. Sorry you didn't care for it but I appreciate the effort.

Matt Rose

I love that you're actually trying "The Haunting of Hill House". It won't be easy, but you will be rewarded with one of the best mini series ever! 🤩🙌🏻🙏🏻

silverarrow06

I’m excited for all three of the full reactions for this week! I’ve only seen The Frighteners once, but I remember really liking it (I remember nothing else except it has Michael J. Fox and possibly Chi McBride.)

Daniel Turbyfill

Higlander yes

Michael Gustafsson

Back to Peter Jackson!

Eric Wallace

Yaaaaaaasss!! ST: Generations!

Michael Enos

Oh boy! Star Trek Generations AND Frighteners? What a week!

Steve Arnold

Hill House is legitimately one of the GOATs. I also recommend reading the book after you watch the show, the book is perhaps the greatest ghost story ever written.

Patrick Waldeck

The frighteners and haunting of the hill???....... This isn't Another joke is it?? Lol

MatthewBrown74m

YESSS!!! Haunting of Hill House!!!

Eric
