Kickass (2010) - Full Reaction

Well this was so unexpected, it reminded me of Superbad meets Kill Bill meets the Equalizer! All the leads were fantastic, Nicholas Cage as “swell” dad was amazing, it was ridiculous and clever and I had a lot of fun!

Kickass (2010) - Full Reaction

Comments

In response to criticism towards Hit Girl's character, Chloë Grace Moretz stated in an interview, "If I ever uttered one word that I said in Kick-Ass, I would be grounded for years! I'd be stuck in my room until I was twenty! I would never in a million years say that. I'm an average, everyday girl." Moretz has said that while filming, she could not bring herself to say the film's title out loud in interviews, instead calling it "the film" in public and "Kick-Butt" at home.

Clay F

Perhaps now that Cassie's seen this film, she should consider Hugo - with a very different Chloe Grace Moretz filmed just one year later.

Bert Towle

Awesome reaction! First time watching it as well. As you said not what I expected but was better than I thought it would be. It was great to see so many actors and actresses that young compared to where they are now and how they have grown. Just watched The Fall Guy and didn’t even realize that was Aaron Taylor Johnson in it!

Jeffrey Smith

The only other movie I've seen with Aaron Taylor-Johnson was Nowhere Boy, a biopic in which he plays a teenage John Lennon.

Kevin Townsend

Well in all fairness I thought for the longest time that his actual name was Tom Carnival Cruise.

Andrew Roach

I forgot to mention this in my previous comment and I don't think anyone else has... but I am pretty sure Nic Cage based his "Big Daddy" on Adam West's "Batman", that vocal cadence of Cage is "pure West"... maybe we need to have the "Batman '66" tele-movie on the channel so Cassie can the moving picture version of "Batman" that was the template.

Mojo One Thousand

We can't leave Leroy Nemon out of this conversation...

Mojo One Thousand

Ohhhhhh.....Cassie said A$$ on the internet!! I'm telling mom!! This is what I imagine your brother's reaction to the intro is....mainly because it's how I would react as well. It's in the Brother Handbook so my hands are tied.

Lee

Don't forget Ed Harris as Viggo Mortensen. Or was it Viggo Mortensen as Ed Harris? Now I'm confused :-0

Richard Maurer

Great reaction. Annoyingly this was one of the few movies that runs a little faster here in the UK so I had to keep pausing to stay in sync which was a little annoying, otherwise was a fun rewatch after such a long time. Chloe Grace Moretz really carries this whole movie. Wasn't sure what Cassie was going to make of this movie, but I'm glad she enjoyed it. Fingers crossed she decides to watch Kick-Ass 2 🙏

Luke Godfrey

She was also in the Amityville Horror remake with Ryan Reynolds when she was like 4 or 5 years old. Maybe you can watch that in October ;)

Aj R

I like to just pretend it doesn’t exist. Kind of like Highlander 2.

MotoDork

so sorry were we looking on the sound!

Cassie

i forgot she was the girl in that!!

Cassie

shoot, we’re on it, so sorry

Cassie

And we can add Chloe Mortez to that distinguished list of names

Dave

I love when you are surprised by a movie! Once again you changed my perception of a movie for the better with your unique and endearing takes.

Scott Macaulay

Saw this at a preview screening about two weeks before it came out. Boy did this thing play, and all anyone was talking about was Hit Girl.

Matt Rose

It’s akin to Patrick Dempsey’s transformation from skinny geek (Can’t Buy Me Love) into McDreamy.

Dan M

Aaron Taylor Johnson in this movie does seem almost unrecognizeable compared to his current self. Yet, I am not that familiar with him. I haven't seen any of his movies except for Outlaw King and Shanghai Knights, and now Kick-Ass.

Clay F

And Alan Tudiek, Alan Cudiek, Alan Tudi, Alan Tootie….

Dan M

If Cassie's anything like my wife, she'll retain knowledge of faces but the actors' names just don't register. We've watched entire series' together, and by the end of it she still can't name the actors. That's why Cassie has watched movies on this channel starring Clint Edgewood, Whats-His-Nuts and Not-Bruce-Willis.

Clarence Newman

So this was fun for us we had you on the big screen and the movie on the smaller 50 inch TV inch TV muted. Your reaction was awesome! I have to say your reaction we both agreed was 10/10. Nice job Cassie. This was one of the best jobs you ever did. Did you know that your name in Gaelic means clever or curly-haired? We looked that up and we're blown away. You keep surprising us Cassie. It's a good thing keeps on our toes. You know. We both had watched this movie before. Both of us just did find a bit over the top. Not to say it was bad. It just wasn't good. However we can still respect other people opinions.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I find it amazing that for movies with opening credits that indicate who is in the movie that just by involuntary reflex your eyes are not drawn to the names and read them. Love this movie and the score. Another great superhero movie I love is Watchmen, Zach Snyder at his best and he can shine with great source material.

Andrew Roach

Fun reaction Cassie! I really like this movie. Chloe Moretz is a badass in it! And Nick Cage is his crazy self! Aaron Taylor-Johnson is also in the movie The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt As others have mentioned. There’s something weird going on with the audio. Sounds like a subway train is going through your room or something 😂 I would be game for Kick Ass 2 if you want to check it out

Robert da Spruce

Great reaction Cassie! This was a lot of fun. I can’t believe it took you so long to recognize Aaron Taylor-Johnson. I thought for sure once he took off the glasses in the movie you’d know who he was. Yes, this was his breakout role before he went on to play Pietro/Quicksilver in Avengers Age of Ultron. And yes, there is a rumor that he was offered the role of the next James Bond, but from what I know, nothing has been confirmed yet. I’m hoping you’ll see him again if you start the Monsterverse series. He’s the star of the first Godzilla movie in the series, along with Elizabeth Olsen (ironically). And come December, he’ll be the lead in the movie Kraven the Hunter. I saw the trailer a few days ago…it looks really good, and really intense. Kraven is a long time nemesis of Spider Man in the Marvel Comics. So I’m making an educated guess that he’ll eventually be meeting up with Tom Holland in a future Spidey movie 🤞. P.S. - You said “ass” TWICE in this reaction?!?! Who are you, and what have you done with Cassie?!

Dan M

It’s been an issue the last two or three reactions. At first I thought it was stormy weather outside. I suspect it might be the air conditioning/ventilation. Whatever it is, I hope they get it fixed soon.

Just Plain Bob

90+ minutes into the movie, Cassie realizes who is playing the lead role. LOL.

Brent Petty

I meant THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the 'F-dash-dash-dash' word! - not fetch or fudge or frick. I expect Cassie to swear like she was possessed by Natalie Gold!

Richard Maurer

Well, to be honest, I wouldn't mind if Cassie watched Man With the Golden Gun - just for Christopher Lee. But that's it, no need to go any further ;-)

Richard Maurer

Cassie said "ass" twice, enjoy double-Hell. Also yeah, 2 Quicksilvers, coincidently.

Keith Jacobsen

Let Me In is top tier.

Drew

I watched the reaction. I heard a few things at times, but it wasn’t distracting.

Cole Jennett

Is this the one with some audio issues? It literally sounds like a plane is flying over head through half the movie.

Aj R

Don't watch the 2nd one

Eric Wallace

Fetch??? Sure, that potty mouth Carly says it occasionally, but leave it there. Stop trying to make "fetch" happen.

Mike Lemon

@Richard - I feel the veins throbbing in my head already. I was just getting ready to look for your 'you don't have to watch most sequels, they are usually terrible' quote.

Mike Lemon

I loved this movie when it first came out. Oh Chloë Grace Moretz was in a movie shortly after this when she was like maybe 12 or 13. It was a kind of scary movie and without giving anything away in case you want to watch it, it was also a movie about bullies picking on a little kid. It's called "Let Me In" and a nice little scary film. She also starred with Denzel Washington in the first The Equalizer movie.

Lana Gorgeous

Thanks bro, love to go overboard sometimes lol

LittleGalaxyBoy

Great Movie. Great Reaction. This movie was what I would think would happen in real life if people tried to be superheroes. Now time for Kickass 2. This was my first time watching this movie. Very fun.

Rick Williams

Always good times when it's also my first time watch a movie with PiB! Lets go!

Cereal And Grape Juice

Great Reaction but whats going on with the background sounds recently, was like there was a microphone next to the washing machine. Also Cassie barely flinched at violence in this lol

Gray

Not intentionally… but ;-) JK. Luv ya Mike. Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) for the Win :-)

Larry Darrell

I definitely second that, if you watched them back to back you wouldn’t believe it’s the same person.

Dean Holt

I just watched The Gentlemen on Netflix. Loved it!

Cole Jennett

+1 for Sin City. Has Bruce Willis.

Clay F

Kick-Ass IMDb rating = 7.6

Clay F

Thing I was waiting to see the most was Cassie’s reaction to Chloe Grace Moretz. Mother Cassie can only say A$$, and 11 year old CGM can say… (-: insert favorite curse word here ;-) That was Awesome! Luv ya Cass ;-) Nice catch on the 2 Quicksilvers. Your Recall is getting better. Agreed… you still need a little work on the Principal Filmmaker positions. :-) (Did you notice Brad Pitt’s name in the opening credits as a producer?) Writer, Director and Producer, Matthew Vaughn, also did… Snatch (2000)… Producer Stardust (2007)… Writer, Director & Producer X-Men: First Class (2011)… Writer & Director Eddie the Eagle (2015)… Producer If I’m going to suggest another Matthew Vaughn film it would be… Layer Cake (2004)… directed and produced by Vaughn, and starring Daniel Craig. Layer Cake was most peoples’ introduction to Daniel Craig, (if it wasn’t Casino Royale), and was his breakout film into leading man roles and proved to everyone that he was capable of playing James Bond. Without Vaughn and Layer Cake… Craig very likely would not have been James Bond. Similarly, it was Matthew Vaughn and Kick-Ass that introduced Aaron Taylor-Johnson to most people. Wouldn’t it be weird if Taylor-Johnson wound up playing James Bond, because like Daniel Craig, Matthew Vaughn turned him into a Star with a household name? You’re familiar with Evan Peters, but how about the other friend, Clark Duke, or Lyndsy Fonseca, who played Katie. There was another film that came out in 2010, featuring Clark Duke and Lyndsy Fonseca… Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)… starring John Cusack, and directed by the guy that wrote Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), Steve Pink, and written by one of the creators of Cobra Kai (2018), Josh Heald. Let me just say, I’m not recommending this film… but that doesn’t mean, I wouldn’t love a Reaction to it. Lots more familiar faces in it too, if you’re ever in a “Broad Comedy” mood. If you grew up watching 80s movies, it hits home pretty good. Again… not recommending it… unless there are others that want it, right? I mean sometimes you just have to give the people what they want, right? ;-) Has Cassie seen Downton Abbey? Would she of recognized Elizabeth McGovern, who played Countess Cora Crawley, as Mrs. Lizewski, for all of a few seconds as she face planted onto the kitchen table? Dexter Fletcher, who played the henchman Cody, who got crushed in the car compacter, has been a talented actor for the past 50 or so years, beginning his career in the 70s as a child actor. In the past 15 years he has finally got into directing, and doing quite well it seems, having directed Eddie the Eagle (2015), Rocketman (2019) and Ghosted (2023). Cassie probably knows him best as Staff Sergeant John W. Martin in Band of Brothers (2001). One of my early favorites of his is the film… The Rachel Papers (1989)… also starring Ione Skye, and was released one month after Say Anything (1989). It’s certainly a film of its time, but that’s alright with me. :-) Did anyone else Smile when Mindy revealed her full name… Mindy MacCready. Please tell my I’m not the only one who remembers 90s Country Music Star, Mindy McCready. (R.I.P.) “Ten Thousand Angels” https://youtu.be/pyk2dTAxNV0?si=KNaqyYvHC3Rg-mn9 “Guys Do It All the Time” https://youtu.be/7gYPxDtc32w?si=5h9GROwO9qPTfb_k “You’ll Never Know” https://youtu.be/BeGi2H2HKDc?si=NhKTDSf-bSgf8aBL “A Girl’s Gotta Do (What a Girl’s Gotta Do)” https://youtu.be/25g0wVw6w1k?si=koJYQ2Oq66d3GfRY “The Other Side of This Kiss” https://youtu.be/T4qtFJ26cl4?si=dQkjNRNx7VwsNSgl (Shout out to actor Stan Shaw for making an appearance here… and of course fiancé Dean Cain) (-: God I miss the 90s ;-) Lastly… Kick-Ass featured one of the coolest pieces of music ever, in a pretty dern cool way. If you’ve never heard it in its entirety… Please, Please Do. “An American Trilogy” by Elvis Presley https://youtu.be/0FT3SmZ_zx0?si=BzzGYuvRoTCq5Tqk God Bless to All.

Larry Darrell

Hell yeah, brother

MotoDork

Love Sin City and without any guilt too.

Richard Maurer

@Larry Darrell - since there's only 2 more Austin Powers anyway (I could do without Goldmember though) Why not? And the remaining 9 Bond films - are you trying to give Mike Lemon a aneurism?

Richard Maurer

Me too. A viewing of Adam West's Batman would provide better context for what the general population's conception of Batman was for 20 years and what Burton was reacting against. Perhaps it will help her to appreciate his interpretation better than she did when she watched the 1989 film.

Stick Figure Studios

+1 for more Austin Powers… And +9 remaining original James Bond Films ;-)

Larry Darrell

Still hoping she watches some of Adam West’s Batman one day… maybe before Batman Returns (1992)… which is basically a Christmas Movie to some ;-)

Larry Darrell

It’d be cool to see Cassie react to some of Adam West’s Batman episodes from the 60s… maybe before she ends up watching Batman Returns (1992). The 60s Batman show with Adam West was in part the influence on Tim Burton’s Batman (1989), and not knowing this might have hurt the Reaction. (I have yet to see their reaction, but I’ve heard the stories. I’m saving it for when she does watch Batman Returns :-)

Larry Darrell

This was a great reaction to watch. It was a riskier pick, but I had a hunch Cassie would enjoy the movie, and I’m glad I was right. It took her a little while to get over the shock of the violence and gore, but once she did and warmed up to the characters, she really seemed to get into it. I'm becoming more convinced she has a real affinity for certain types of black comedies. Also, her reaction when she finally recognized Aaron Taylor-Johnson about 90 minutes in was priceless!

Gábor Árki

Your brother has great taste. One of us, one of us...

Brian's Dog

The Nice Guys (2016) was on her Letterboxd thing, meaning she may have watched it prior to the channel. I’ve wondered how much she remembers though. A Reaction to it would be Awesome. +1 on the Black Comedy Poll

Larry Darrell

I just have to say that it has been amazing seeing how you have grown movie culture wise. How you recognize names, and styles, and are enjoying so many things that were originally out of your safe zone of movies. Keep it up, you are a lot of fun to hang out with. :D

Vwlss Nvwls

I didn't think I would like this, but I enjoyed it for some reason; I'm still trying to put my finger on why that might be. I am a big fan of Nicolas Cage, and I love violence in a movie that reminds me I can't believe you have not seen Sin City. That's one of my guilty pleasure movies, and the cast is excellent. Sin City (2005), Directed by Frank Miller, Quentin Tarantino, and Robert Rodriguez, is a movie you should watch.

Eddie Perkins

This was one kick A-money-money reaction! (Wont' hear/read any bad language from me!) Nicholas Cage and Chloe Grace Moretz were the standouts to me. Mark Strong and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were not exactly lightweights. I can see Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Bond now (but I would still rather have an unknown). Let's do Part 2 also. Don't want to leave this series hanging like Indy, Jurassic Park, Austin Powers, shall I go on? I didn't think so.

Mike LL

Its been a long hard road but she has achieved nerd status definitely!🥰😝

David Freese

After this I would love for Cassie to watch Bullet Train even more than I already did. Such an awesome movie, and very much shows off grown up Aaron Taylor Johnson.

BibbitduBois

Such a fun movie, and yes, he did have a huge glowup, if u wanna see him looking, as you put it "Bond level hot" you need to watch bullet train, he is quite the eye candy in that one.

samuel Jakob

Ah, yes, KICK-ASS. From Matthew Vaughn, the director of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, STARDUST and KINGSMAN. Personally speaking, I'm with Roger Ebert in that I do not care for this movie, but it sounds like you enjoyed it and I'm glad about that. :-) One thing that I don't expect you to get is the particularly odd performance that Nicolas Cage gives: he's doing a hilarious spoof of the way Adam West delivered his lines when he played Batman in the 1960s TV show.

Stick Figure Studios

This movie surprised me both with how good it was, and how far they took some parts of it. But I would not change a thing.

Vwlss Nvwls

Succinct and very informative piece on Mark Millar and his exemplary work. I pride myself on being a geek, but I learned several things from your post. Thanks!

Just Plain Bob

Another great reaction to a really fun movie. Clearly, Cassie needs to take her brother’s advice on movies more often. The man knows his movies. Suggestion: Cassie should do a reaction with her brother to one of her favorite rom-coms. That has the potential to be hilarious. Sorry, Cassie’s brother, if that actually comes to fruition. I either didn’t notice when I watched this previously or completely forgot how Nicholas Cage clearly modeled his characterization after the Adam West version of Batman (1960s tv show), particularly his speech patterns. PS: Cassie, it’s Mor-ETZ. Not Mor-TEZ.

Just Plain Bob

The damn broke with Cassie saying ass! I fully expect the F-word in every sentence she speaks next reaction ;-)

Richard Maurer

Dexter Fletcher directed one of my favourite films - Wild Bill. I highly recommend it. It has a scene-stealing performance from a young Will Poulter.

Brett Richey

I genuinely didn't think it would take about 80% of the movie to recognised Aaron Taylor Johnson. I thought it may have been "The Fall Guy" where it was from as I think that may have been the most recent of his movies and that wasn't for the channel, but he was also in "Tenet"... I was trying to think if there are other movies of his on the channel but I don't think so. Others have already said it... "Bullet Train" is a fun watch. "He's Bond hot", I didn't know that was category but fair enough... I think he his name has been bandied about for Bond with a other that seem to objectively be British smoke-shows, such as Tom hardy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill. Kudos Cassie, the channel has had an impact as you accurately place that both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor Johnson played versions of "Quicksilver" in the "X-men" universe and the MCU respectively. I hadn't seen this a long time, so I forgot they were in this together. And, we are getting there with directors... there was some familiarity with Matthew Vaughn but not quite, even though this would be like the forth movie of his in the last few month, with "Stardust", "Eddie the eagle" and "X-men: first class" all being seen since about July. Mark Strong "Frank D'Amico" plays such good villains, I thought maybe he would have been recognised from "Stardust" but the long hair to bald was enough of a change. He along with several others are Matthew Vaughn regulars. Dexter Fletcher (the guy crushed in th car) and Jason Flemyng ("D'Amico's" doorman) were both in "Stardust", and I think the former was also in "Eddie the eagle". I think we need to get some other of Matthew Vaughn's movies "The Kingsman" so that Cassie can see Mark Strong as a more pleasant character, as I think she has only seen him a bad guy. Chloe Grace Moretz had quite the introduction to the world in this, and it was funny that Cassie mentioned that "Hit-girl" went "Equalizer" on the bad guys as she actual was in "The Equalizer" and is the character that is the reason for "Robert" goes "equalizing" in the first place. I also enjoyed her performance in "30 rock" where she played a young nemisis to Alec Baldwin's "Jack Donaghy" in the last couple of seasons.

Mojo One Thousand

Loved how connected the quicksilvers Cassie. You’ve achieved comic book nerd status 🙌

Wes

Super (2010) is just as good imo, starring Dwight from The Office

Thin White Duke

Great movie and a great reaction! Aaron Taylor-Johnson was a hit and Chloë Grace Moretz kicked ass!!!

Will Castillo

We'll get to "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "The Nice Guys" one day... I am sure the former will be on a Christmas poll again They are both written and directed by Shane Black who created "Riggs" and "Murtaugh" in "Lethal Weapan" and Cassie adored them and they both have main characters played by actors she really enjoys so they have lot going for them. I just don't know where they will fit right at the moment with all the franchise stuff going on. Gabor and I have agreed on "Death at a funeral" before, so I am up for that.

Mojo One Thousand

Great reaction. Cool movie. Essentially a first watch for me. I think I had avoided watching it b/c I was confusing with another movie. I really liked this movie and watched it because of the channel. For me, I give it 8/10. Hit-Girl is a cool character. Well done. Early in the movie before she used profanity and before revealed how her character would be, the little girl (Hit-Girl) said "I'm f*cking with you Daddy." The lingering look on your face. I like the Kick-Ass character. I read speculated that Aaron Taylor-Johnson (age 34) and his wife Sam Taylor-Johnson (age 57) of 12 years separated this month. Is Aaron Taylor-Johnson the new James Bond? Did you notice the guy crushed in the car in the compactor is Dexter Fletcher who played Sgt. John Martin of Band of Brothers? The sergeant who led the night mission across the small body of water to rescue British soldiers in episode 8.

Clay F

Very fun reaction. Kudos. You should absolutely watch Bullet Train for one of the best Aaron Taylor Johnson roles. Took me a minute to recognize him though. Made me believe he would make a good James Bond. Fighting, action and lots of humor. Pretty loaded cast also. Would be a great watch for you or the Cassie and Carly duo.

FischerMax98

I have always been a huge fan of this movie, as well as the 2nd one. They are both really good. Chloe and Aaron and Nick really shine. Plus, Lyndsy Fonseca is really good in her limited role. Great reaction, Cassie!

Phillip Bates

"They should call him...Ass. Kick. Heh!"

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Lol

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Noir, yes, And he's getting his own Noir show too

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I-would be in favor of some Guy Ritchie.

Uncle Phoenix

Kick-Ass is a comic series written by Scottish author Mark Millar, published under Marvel Comics' Icon imprint until it was picked up by Image Comics, best known for The Walking Dead, Invincible, and of course Spawn comics. The premise revolves around everyday people deciding to become superheroes in a gritty, realistic world meant to resemble our own. Imagine if you and Carly suddenly decided to suit up as heroes, creating your own costumes and themes inspired by existing comic book characters or maybe even your own wild ideas, like The Mighty Popcorn, The Buttered Barrage, or The Poppinator. That’s essentially the spirit of Kick-Ass. Mark Millar also played a significant role in the creation of the Ultimate Universe, a revamped Marvel continuity that began with Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) written by Brian Michael Bendis and ended with the conclusion of the 2015 "Secret Wars" storyline that saw the universes destruction. This was a more modern and re-imagined Marvel universe that allowed for new readers to jump into a fresh new continuity with no past history. While also allowing writers to tell new origin stories for these iconic Marvel characters without having to worry about the Mainline continuity. Millar wrote Ultimate X-Men, though he based the characters mostly on their portrayal in the X-Men (2000) film. Why? Well, Millar admitted he hadn't actually read the X-Men comics and only knew the characters from the recently released movies. So we saw a more militant X-Men, wearing all black and pulling heavily from first two X-Men movies. Mark Millar, alongside Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis, teamed up to write Ultimate Fantastic Four. They put a modernized spin on Marvel's first family, making them younger and significantly altering their origin story. It was a unique take on the classic team. Mark Millar also wrote The Ultimates, which is this universe's take on The Avengers. The lineup includes Ant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Thor, mirroring the mainline comics. Origins were altered, and many characters were portrayed as unlikeable with a gritty and edgy tone. Some unusual creative decisions included depicting Hulk as a cannibal and, oddly, overly sexualized. Despite these choices, it was largely successful, presenting a more "grounded," modernized Marvel universe that ran alongside the mainline Marvel continuity. Millar also introduced Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, using his likeness for the Fury of the Ultimate Universe. As a result, Samuel L. Jackson was cast as Nick Fury in Iron Man (2008) and throughout the MCU. That said, Millar delivered some standout works, such as Old Man Logan, which inspired the film Logan (2017), and Civil War (2006), the foundation for Captain America: Civil War (2016). His Jupiter’s Legacy series is highly acclaimed, Superman: Red Son is a captivating alternate take on the iconic hero, and even the first two volumes of The Ultimates are regarded as solid entries. Mark Millar's writing style isn't for everyone, especially when it comes to established characters. His approach can be quite polarising, adding a gritty, abrasive edge that often clashes with traditional fans' expectations. Since I know you both love Captain America, you’d probably dislike Millar’s take on him. He steers Cap in a much rougher, more cynical direction, stripping away many of the noble qualities that define the character. However, this approach was reflective of the Marvel Ultimate Universe as a whole, so in that context, Millar was definitely the right person for the job.

LittleGalaxyBoy

the two Quicksilvers united...of course this was before either of them had actually played the character; haven't seen it in a while, but doesn't Nic Cage also voice one of the Into the Spider-Verse characters?

JL_83

I just watched the intro. Popcorn in Bed transforms into Pottymouth in Bed for a day. 🤭 I’m still chuckling.

Dan M

Oh Fetch! Kick A Money Money! H E double 🏒 🏒 yeah! My alarm may have gotten me up this morning, but seeing this notification on my phone got the adrenaline going. Can’t wait to watch this tonight!

Dan M

It's sad how the Meme Lords destroyed Chloë Grace Moretz entire life with a Family Guy cartoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqaD3hT5xZ8

Thin White Duke

So I will admit, this is not our favorite movie. We watched it again last week thinking maybe we both missed something. Both of us have it ranked as 5/10 which was up from a 4/10 on IMDB. We couldn't go any higher. However because Cassie had fun watching it and we think her brother chose this one. Since we respect and love Cassie that means we respect and respect and love her family too. At least that's what was told to me. My gf however seem to make sense on this one. So we will sit through this again because Cassie did enjoy it. Cassie does make movie better then they are. She definitely moves the needle. So we will definitely watch her reaction to it. We glad you enjoyed it Cassie we will get to watch some else react to this. So both of us are really glad you enjoyed it Cassie. Always fun to watch your reaction to movies especially to ones that not our favourites.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

My word, the language in these reactions are becoming appalling! 😜 Cassie, I saw this in theaters and you had the same reaction as everyone else, except you were already familiar with Chloe Grace-Moretz and we weren’t then. In the theater though, there was the same nervous laughter, including genuine excitement with the story - but Chloe definitely stole the show for everyone. ( I remember she said “Kick-Butt” during her interview on Good Morning America and “No,” she hadn’t seen the movie yet, because she wasn’t allowed to by her folks! :)

Ike

KKBB lost on many polls over the years.

Gábor Árki

"NOW SWITCH TO KRYPTONIIIIITE!!!!" R.I.P. Big Daddy. (Loooooove this movie.)

Steve Mercier

Love this movie. Love Chloe in this. When I first watched this, I sincerely thought that's how Aaron spoke. But alas, he be acting. Great reaction!

Philip Alan

She had popcorn. :)

Philip Alan

I had a lot of fun watching this film, in part because I had basically no idea about what it was like - guy tries to be superhero was it. No idea of any of the other characters at all. It was a great way to watch the film.

Graeme Edgeler

Agree about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It lost a recent poll, and I was sad. It's the same director as The Nice Guys, which is also a must-watch for Cassie. Both movies have such a unique "feel", and great casts and performances. I hope she watches them someday.

Johnny

Hit Girl is the best. Her action scenes are among the best of all the superhero movies.

Johnny

great comment.

Crispin

popcorn in bed with no popcorn? XDD

Crispin

Also Massive shout out too your brother mans a legend.

Crispin

Love this movie and really looking forward to the reaction, but I’m going to have to wait ‘til later to watch it; it’s past my bedtime. But I did cheat and watch the intro and outro. Cassie, you were right about Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson both playing Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff). Evan Peters played the character in the X-Men films and WandaVision (sorta) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson played him in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The reason they were played so differently had to do with rights issues re: X-Men and use of the word “mutant.” (Hence the necessity of attributing his and Wanda’s powers to an Infinity Stone in the Avengers movie, instead of calling them mutants). Neither characterization is like the comics, in which he is quite arrogant and unlikeable. At different times both he and his sister, Wanda, have been members of both the X-Men and the Avengers. And yes, in the comics they are Magneto’s children (or, at least, they were; that could have been retconned by now). You might also enjoy Aaron Taylor-Johnson in “Bullet Train”, where he stars opposite Brad Pitt. It’s a hoot. He’s also good in “Savages”, in which he stars opposite Taylor Kitsch (Gambit in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) and Blake Lively. Oh yes, and Matthew Vaughn, the director of this film, also directed “X-Men: First Class.” And Nicholas Cage played Marvel Comics’ Ghost Rider twice. Not to mention that this film is based on the comic book of the same name. (I’ve never read it but have heard good things.) So, LOTS of comic book connections with this one.

Im new too this channel but. my lord you are coming out with bangers! Chloë Grace Moretz absolutely killed it. like damn she as 12 in this role. I cant even begin to imagine acting in a movie like this at that age. shes a beast.

Hearing Cassie finally say it is like Deadpool asking Colossus to drop the f-bomb. "Wow. Enjoy hell, swamp mouth." XD

Fun fact: both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson ended up playing Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver. Peters in the X-Men franchise, and Taylor-Johnson in the MCU. And then Peters played him in WandaVision too. Kind of. I'm curious to see this reaction. The movie is a lot of fun and was refreshing even in the early days of superhero films. It still stands out today, especially with the genre feeling so overdone by all those mostly formulaic movies we started getting over the last decade. Also, based on some previous reactions and the post, I'm starting to think Cassie has a knack for some type of black comedies. Specifically the twists on genres she already likes. If so, may I suggest a Black Comedy poll for the future? Some I think she would enjoy: KISS KISS BANG BANG, DEATH AT A FUNERAL (the 2007 UK original not the mediocre remake), LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, maybe even IN BRUGES.
