It's essential argument is that life is meaningless and cannot have meaning. There can be no victorious triumph because nothing matters. It is not a philosophy I agree with at all, but I can respect the material. My understanding is in the novel Carla Jean calls the coin and loses, death is random just as his auto accident was.
