Upcommmmmmm oooooonnnnn!!!!

Hey guys!

How has your week been? To be honest, mine has been a little womp womp. Our internet was down for almost 3 days which made working nearly impossible, we are in a copyright fightclub on every. single. video, our A/C went totally out, need a new one so that has been very.....hot and $$. My van I crashed is still in the shop. Those are very first world problems I know, and not really what has made the week hard. There have just been lots of BIG emotions about going back to school from everyone. One of my kids is really struggling in particular and it's been keeping me up at night how to help them the most. Not to mention we all got sick literally one day into school starting which has also been keeping us up at night! I had to get a mole removed and wear a bandaid on my face, got 2 coldsores and OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!! SEE!? WOMP WOMP> Sorry to be a negative nancy! This week can only go up right?

The good news is this PiB week is full of Apocalypses, Monsters and Disasters! Yay! I kid, I kid! These movies are going to be great and fun! Coming up soon is also ST Season 7, There Will be Blood, A Poll of what to Poll next, Logan, Invincible, The Pelican Brief (My next PPOTM), A Poll from my brother and MORE! Carly is also working on a bit of a surprise that we are so excited about telling you soon (uugghhh sorry, I hate when people are vague like that on the internet) See Cassie? Lots to look forward to! I also have my bookclub this week (we read The Villa (actually I haven't yet)), fall is in the air and peach shake season is just around the corner!

Some things to have on your PiB radar:

YT LIVE in September

Patreon Pop Quiz Trivia Night in September.

The Extra Butter Live will be a watch along during the day on Saturday the 31st!

Ok stay good out there, see you at the movies!

Cassie

Comments

Oh dang I honestly thought she meant they were diseased for a minute. lol

Chris Thom

Planet of the Apes (1968) is the only one I'm interested in seeing her watch. One and done, I don't see the POTA series as something she is really interested in.

Joe

I think only "The Big Lebowski".

Chris

Has she done a Coen Bros. movie on the channel yet?

Chris Thom

You're so personable about your real life stories, loving towards your audience, and you have such comedic flare ... i'm really glad you got into this business and we have you as a choice ... you're good at it! OK, enough kissing the Blarney Stone .... get out there and work for us some more! ;-)

Jeffery Parks

Great lineup Cassie. Looking forward to King Kong.....So, what's the tally on car accidents now? 17?

Michael West

Cassie I know its not winning in your brother's pol, but Kick Ass isa really good movie... if it comes in second you should still check it out!

Louisa Moritz

Why haven't you watch any Rodeo Show 8 Seconds of a nice start true story another story by the way you guys are great the internet daughters thanks love you work think about it if I'm Alberta Rodeo I'm from Alberta proud and raised

papabapt

Chris, the van might not be fast, but after Cassie drives it, I doubt it's particularly happy. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Oh, that's a relief, Mike! I was afraid some Americans might have gotten hurt! :-P :-)

Happy Hanukkah

LOTRs was fine as a one off, but I hope she avoids the "Sister Watches for the First Time" troupe as long as possible. I know it will happen eventually as she runs out of more popular movies that can get decent views on YT.

Joe

I bet you thought I couldn't find any this time of year. Lol

Brian Wood

We bombarded her with that one when she watched Panther, Chris. Your refresher post is very welcome!

Clarence Newman

Thank God for that ... for a moment there I thought it might have been the salmon mousse!!

Chris

Relax, Chris, she's only joking. "Our pets heads are falling off!" is a Jim Carrey line from Dumb and Dumber.

Clarence Newman

It's time for Cassie to see Train to Busan. I think pretty much every other big league reactor has done it at this point, so this year would be a good one for Cassie.

Richard Maurer

yeah it's now available on digital last this month

Rene G.

Sorry to hear about your pets ... 😳

Chris

By the way, now that you've broken your cherry with "The Pink Panther", you have to watch "A Shot in the Dark". It focuses more on Inspector Clouseau and is infinitely funnier.

Chris

Hi Cassie, I recently joined your patreon about 2 weeks ago and I've been binging a lot of your reactions. Recently watched you watching "The Pink Panther" and had a lot of fun. You've got a great laugh! One comedy I think you would love is a Coen Bros. movie called "Raising Arizona", it's hysterical. The closest you'll get to a live action Bugs Bunny cartoon. Another great movie is "Chinatown". An absolute masterpiece but, be warned. Not a comedy. Look forward to more content from you and Carly.

Chris

I'd love to see a Warrior reaction, Brent, but I was watching a Mail, Movies & More from two years ago the other day and she told Carly she'd watched it. As for "Guys will cry", it's gotta be The Champ (1979).

Clarence Newman

Just fixed the error of assumption Mike pointed out. Begone, J Evans Pritchard!

Clarence Newman

I was speechless at the end of The Mist. I couldn’t believe what I just saw. Talk about a bold decision by Frank Darabont. Even Stephen King praised how he reworked his book into the screenplay. Don’t want to give anything away, but there are only two words that come to mind…gut wrenching.

Dan M

"Authentic Bavarian Miak!" IYKYK

Brent Petty

I half wonder if she's a case study for her car insurance company's trainers.

Brent Petty

The Mist might literally destroy Cassie.

Brent Petty

Huge YES on Train to Busan. Paranormal Activity? I would also suggest Panic Room. I don't consider it horror, but Cassie and Carly might.

Brent Petty

Maybe a "Guy Will Cry Flicks" poll? Films like Brian's Song, Big Fish, Boyz N The Hood, Warrior, etc.

Brent Petty

"A Poll of what to Poll next" - How about a list of films you've reacted to, but Carly hasn't seen (like when she watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy with you)? Movies she could handle, like Apollo 13, The Fugitive, the Lethal Weapon series (she really liked the Die Hard series), etc.

Brent Petty

Cassie, based on your comments here and in the past, you should think about taking an Uber EVERYWHERE Ben can't drive you.

Brent Petty

She moonlights as a stunt driver for the fast and furious franchise. Which is weird because the van is neither fast nor furious. But it does have some blind spots.

Chris Thom

The original. The Wolfgang Peterson remake is simply entitled POSEIDON.

Stick Figure Studios

Youtube has a shedload of uses, that's for sure. She could use it for the silent movies too. Pretty much every one of them is on there, so no need to buy DVDs.

Clarence Newman

Could happen. I've got a modded 370Z and have done some night street racing in the Atlanta suburbs the last six months. I'm way more reckless since my mom died

William Bryan

She was street racing then ran when she saw the cops' lights. She tried to do a Dukes of Hazzard over a bridge that was being rebuilt but didn't make it to the other side. Or she got in a wreck (fender bender?) when in Canada. One of the two. edit- link to first post she mentioned it - https://www.patreon.com/posts/upcoming-108684895

Mike Lemon

WHich Poseidon adventure? The original or the new one? Or the miniseries where Poseidon capsizes because of a terrorist attack instead of a tidal wave?

Kyle Prince

You crashed a van?!? Any more details?

John Drake

@Clarence - Another "genre"- Public domain movies. She could show the whole thing on Youtube (and Rumble, she's there too) without copyright fears (except, maybe the music). At least a few of them are good.

Mike Lemon

Tommy Boy deserves much less than LotR - much, much less.

Richard Maurer

Exactly. and you could even sell the extras to a bait store and not even feel bad about it.

Richard Maurer

oops, I missed an i, If she googled it it would still come up, spelling cop ;-)

Richard Maurer

Well way back during the Bond series Planet of the Apes was also going to be the next movie series. Then she put up a poll, X-Men or PotA, and Apes got pushed aside. I want to see that PotA 1968 reaction!! She has been talking about Planet of the Apes for years!

Mike LL

Hi Cassie, great line up, can’t wait. Can I suggest the Pelican brief maybe a good watch for Carly as well. I think you would both really enjoy it. Take care of yourself Cassie. 🤒🤗

Mark White

Richard: "... must be astronomical." 🤭 🤣🤣🤣

Happy Hanukkah

I hope you don't mind my correcting your spelling in case Cassie searches for it: craisins. https://www.amazon.com/craisins/s?k=craisins [Joke:] What helps boost my own well-being is the old gin-soaked raisins folk remedy. I soak a handful of golden raisins in a bottle of gin for two weeks, and then discard the raisins and drink the gin. One bottle daily. All my stress just melts away.* [* "Ah! This explains Happy's comments, as well as 'Happy' itself!"]

Happy Hanukkah

So she has, Mike, but we haven't benefited from it. Hopefully Carly hasn't seen it, and Cassie could re-watch it with her. She's done that for Lord of the Rings, and Tommy Boy deserves nothing less! (And to think that the other movies in my proposed poll are even better!!!) [There's not enough :-P for me to append.]

Happy Hanukkah

You could, theoretically, end up with twice as many worms.

Lemurian Jones

Yes. And as for the craisins, you don't even need that much. A small handful a day has been enough for me. But then, I had a pretty good immune system to begin with, so someone like Cassie might need more.

Richard Maurer

Good advice. Stress, a hectic lifestyle and kids can lower an immune system quite effectively

Mark White

Cassie keeps worms as pets, so their heads falling of is not really a big deal.

Richard Maurer

I agree, in my humble opinion, it’s one of the best performances of all time in movies, up there with Al Pacino in Scarface

Mark White

Wait till you see the absolute powerhouse of an acting that's in 'There Will Be Blood'. It will blow you away! Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano are incredible.

QuigonJim25

I hope everything starts going better for you. I noticed another channel already did a “Twisters” reaction. Didn’t that just come out in theaters? Is it really available for renting at home already? I guess it has to be, but I’m just surprised.

DragonConToddOfTheDiscerningGeeksPortalPodcast

Hi Cassie, is there a chance to increase the time befreundet blur in the full-length Videos to maybe a Minute of Film? Usually I don't have the same version you are using and it offen ends in me synchronizing the video to a Studio Trailer or the blurred outlines of the first scenes. Thanks.

Earthwalker

Oh man Cassie, with all those things going wrong I hope you're not feeling like you're in "Shane Falco's" biggest fear... quicksand.

Mojo One Thousand

I am going to be deeply disappointed if she doesn't love "Close Encounters." One of my favorite films ever. I think it's brilliant on multiple levels. It's a movie about obsessions and an artist's journey as much as it's a movie about aliens.

David Blount

@Mark Vaderr - nice list but I hope you mean Ringu the original Japanese version. Remakes are almost as bad as sequels sometimes worse. I found the American remake of Ringu kind of flat and lifeless compared to the original. In most cases original films are better than the remakes. Not sure what your second comment was directed at.

Richard Maurer

Thanks Mike

Clarence Newman

@Clarence Newman LITERALLY no other reactor has watched Freaks(1932)?! It's been done, one of which dropped on YT not 5 months ago. I suggest next time you do the tiniest bit of research before you make such an outrageous claim.

mikethemotormouth

So sayeth the bucket? Of popkernels? No?

mikethemotormouth

A Bo Derek poll? Well, that's different, if nothing else.

Richard Maurer

People always seem to forget this is Cassie's livelihood we're talking about. Does she do a lot of popular stuff? If course she does, and she will continue to do so, because that's where the money that allows her to continue doing this comes from. I mean, her car insurance bill alone must be astronomical.

Richard Maurer

Cassie, this getting sick all time makes me think you really need to boost your immune system. I've thought it was mostly because your children are exposed to a lot of germs, and that has much to do with it, but even then you shouldn't be getting sick this much. Obviously you need to take vitamins (C,D,E) but also, cranberries. They sell them in pill form but also dried and sweetened, called craisins, which are probably better. I've been taking them more than 20 years and in that 20 yrs I can count on 3 fingers the number of colds and flus I've gotten.

Richard Maurer

If people want something really different, how about, Touching the Void?! And yes it is a movie! Docudrama and it’s amazing!

Mark White

OK Mike, here's a few variety suggestions: Silent movies (Surely there's some gems in there she'd love) More westerns (particularly John Wayne, but also High Noon, Red River and Shane) Freaks (not a genre, but it's a fascinating watch) Some classic epics, like Gone With The Wind, Modern Times (Chaplin), The Grapes of Wrath. Streetcar Named Desire Marilyn Monroe (Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Some Like It Hot) Time Machine (because I love it and Cassie could watch it in October WITH Carly) Carry On films (only one or two required, but it was a huge genre in the 60s in particular) Elvis movies (King Creole, Blue Hawaii - most of the rest are garbage) Paul Newman (Lots and lots of Paul Newman!) Steve McQueen (see my opinion of Paul Newman) Long, sprawling but highly enjoyable 60's comedies (The Great Race, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World) Big (older) musicals (Oklahoma, Paint Your Wagon) Bruce Lee & Jackie Chan Weepies that will break Cassie and use up all her tissues (The Champ!) Eddie Murphy (especially the 80s stuff) More Sly Stallone. All the Sly Stallones (Sorry, I'm such a fan, I actually hate Mark Rylance a little bit) Movies with "good" British humour I think she'd like (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, The Italian Job) That's all I can think of genre-wise, but hopefully there's some huge diversity in there.

Clarence Newman

There absolutely could be more variety. Both in terms of genres but also in what type of movies that pop up. In the last year or so, I’ve noticed that the big name movies, franchises, blockbusters have largely dominated. It feels generic to me, which is different from a few years ago. But I think she already knows that and she’s acknowledged it at times. Hopefully it’s just a phase.. but it’s a long phase..

Shehab Dawoud

"Could there BE any more variety??!!" - Yes.

Mike Lemon

She's already seen Tommy Boy.

Mike Lemon

I'm not sure I've ever had a reaction to a movie as strongly as I had to The Mist. I literally screamed at my tv after watching it for the first time. That's only ever happened to me once.

Katie Jackson

Awesome but, WHEN YOU BRINGING BACK YOUR SISTER!!!???😣👍👍👍🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Jay505

Dog Soldiers and Let the right one in 🥰🥰🥰

Björn Karlsson

One more thing, Cassie. Stop getting sick. This is not a request anymore. I've raised a petition and I'm confident that 410,000 people are going to sign it. You are to remain healthy, uninjured and happy in your life. So sayeth the flock.

Clarence Newman

Wow, you really want to traumatize Cassie.

Mark Vaderr

I can't help thinking of the complaints that the variety on this channel is being severely hampered by your Star Trek journey. If Matthew Perry was here, I'm sure he'd say the same thing: "Could there BE any more variety??!!"

Clarence Newman

I get what you mean, Katie. I feel the same way about The Mist, a fantastic horror movie that is greatly overlooked. I just don't know if I could force that movie on Cassie.

Mark Vaderr

Just saw on your IG that you’re interested in watching ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’. YES PLEASE. If I ever won one of those trivia things, it would be one of the 5 movies I’d submit. Could easily argue it’s Matt Damon and Jude Law at their very best. I would for Damon. Feels like it’s a weekly thing where we’re wishing you to get well, or a speedy recovery, or something. So here goes again🙏🏻

Shehab Dawoud

Richard, I like the thought of a non-sequel theme for horror movies for Scary Not Too Scary October. My wish list would be this: Nosferatu Cat People(1940's) Night of the Living Dead The Ring The Blair Witch Project

Mark Vaderr

Cassie has stated that Planet of the Apes was the next movie series that she and Carly would watch after X-Men was completed.

Mark Vaderr

Hope she remembers to watch Logan next. In her Apocalypse intro she said DP2 then Logan. Big Logan spoiler in DP2.

Brent Petty

I'm sure everyone else already told you to have a new box of tissues for Carly when you watch "Logan", right?

JAKH

The title of the poll will be: "Bo My Gosh!!!!!" :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Yeah, the remake was awful.

Stick Figure Studios

The Wolfgang Peterson remake is simply called POSEIDON.

Stick Figure Studios

Following the Eddie the Eagle reaction, I propose the following poll: 10 (1979) A Change of Seasons (1980) Tarzan, the Ape Man (1981) Bolero (1984) Ghosts Can't Do It (1989) Tommy Boy (1995) :-P :-P :-P

Happy Hanukkah

The new premiere feature on Patreon called Drops is just like YouTube, only for pre-recorded videos.

kaiielle

Oh boy, don't even start to get me excited for that There Will Be Blood reaction. Can't wait! Also, Invincible? I'm assuming the early 2000's sports film with Marky Mark, and not the animated super hero show lol. Also also, I've seen it thrown around a couple times in these comments, so I'll add another voice to it. I would highly, highly recommend the Peter Jackson King Kong from 2005. It's really, really good, and I think you'd really like it.

Astraeos

One of these things (A Clockwork Orange) is not like the others.

Richard Maurer

Well that's good for you, but unfortunately the rest of us would have to sit through that heap of garbage - no thanks.

Richard Maurer

Never saw Dumb and Dumber. Can't get past Jim Carrey.

Lemurian Jones

Hope things get better!

Ben Forrester

Sucks when stressful stuff like that piles up. I feel for you. Just remember to take things one day at a time. Don't try to look too far into the future, just handle things one at a time as they come. On the plus side, for us at least, sounds like it's going to be a great two or three weeks on the channel. Ready Player One reaction already doing really well.

Chris Thom

Clockwork Orange, The Descent, REC, The Hills Have Eyes,

Rene G.

Nah, could care less. I'm the type of guy who lets youtubers watch sequels even the bad ones and let them have their takes on it.

Rene G.

@Richard A Monster Movie Poll? I'd say these all qualify

Katie Jackson

I haven't seen it in about 20 years 🤷‍♀️

Katie Jackson

I had an album with that song on it when I was a kid. I freaked out when I heard it the first time I watched the film.

David Patterson

Guess y’all haven’t seen DUMB AND DUMBER?

SeanATX

What a fun week. It's all about the 8th Wonder of the World, King Kong! We are inching closer and closer to reactions to Planet of the Apes! WooHooo! September should be most interesting with There Will Be Blood & Logan. Scary Not Too Scary October is waiting in the wings too! Cassie are you ready for some football!!! Hope that all sickness is cured and that all stress levels become reduced. We love you for all you do! God Bless You and your family!

Mark Vaderr

I'm so sorry to hear about your pets and everything else. I hope you can find a way to help with the school thing. My week has been about the same but in far fewer words-healthcare, system, and garbage. And sure, things can only go up from here. We'll go with that. Carly surprise? Sweeet! I'm ok with vagueness I like surprises. And see you at the live on saturday! If we're voting mine again goes to watching the LOTR behind the scenes footage or a Cassie pick from PopcornRequests.

My_Cousin_Mose

My list of very scary. . . for Cassie: 1)Candyman(Original) 2)Halloween 2(1980) 3)The Cabin In The Woods 4)The Ring 5)Wrong Turn 6)I Know What You Did Last Summer 7)Scream 2 8)It Chapter 2 9)Jeepers Creepers 10)A Nightmare On Elm Street 3(The second one doesn't connect with the rest of the franchise & was originally going to be a soft reboot) still working on adding some more. It's getting harder to find movies that Cassie hasn't seen that won't scar her for life 😆

Katie Jackson

Cassie, We just got done watching Close Encounters well I watched all of it. My future wife has politics on her mind. So she was running back and forth between our bedroom and the living room. She told me King Kong was on the plate this week. Well anything The Simpsons did can't be all that bad. https://youtu.be/pzEzcN0dzB4?si=FVLa0-U9Y-VE2U1B September 1st is the 85th anniversary of the start of World War II when Germany invaded Poland. My Gf and I spent hours putting a poll together a Modern Day World War II movie poll. If not September 1st there Veterans Day also 1. The Pianist (2002) 2. Conspiracy (2001) 3. Defiance (2008) 4. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas (2008) 5. Downfall (2004) 6. Flags Of Our Fathers (2006) In 2006 my friend and I flew into Warsaw Poland visited Treblinka, Chelmno, Auschwitz, before taking a train down to Dachau where my friend got food poisoning. We made it to Dachau, then the Eagles Nest. Before we flew home with a stop over in Paris to see Jim Morrison's grave at Pere Lachaise cemetery. We made back in 2018 went to Buchenwald, went to the place where Wansee Conference was held then to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, then to Austria, then to the Lidice Memorial. Before going all the way across Europe to Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp to see the grave of Anne Frank's. Before I leave there have been a lot of documentaries and movies about the War in Europe during World War II that I have seen. This one stood above the rest it's called The Nazis A Warning From History it's six 50 minute episodes https://watchdocumentaries.com/the-nazis-a-warning-from-history/?video_index=3 To Cassie, Ben and Carly + Family our ❤️ and our 🙏 are always with you.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Movies I'd like to see for Halloween: It Follows Let the Right One In Ginger Snaps Dog Soldiers Train to Busan

Richard Maurer

I know, as good as The Good Son is with the acting and suspense building throughout, Cassie would be a wreck by the end. I'm sure it would give her terrible nightmares. That final scene 😱🤯🫣😬😢 the older I get, the more terrifying that movie is.

Katie Jackson

How about the first Chucky Movie (Child's Play) and we move on from there.

Richard Maurer

Since you got freaked out by Chucky's cameo in Ready Player one, (I suggest watching all 7 chucky movies esp. the Tv series

Rene G.

The Good Son would totally scar Cassie. I don’t know what I’d do in that final scene on the cliff 😰

Dan M

THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (1972) was one of my first big favorites. I was only 6 years old when it came out but I saw it 7 times in the theater! I just loved it.

Joe “Retroclassic” Pinney

I could live without her watching the 76 version.

Richard Maurer

Fire In The Sky is the direct antithesis of Close Encounters. Totally freaked me out the first time I saw it. The Relic is like Alien in a museum. All great suggestions by you. I love the Underword and Final Destination franchises. And now that I see you’re suggesting The Fog, I just remembered another one to add to my list…The Mist.

Dan M

Things will calm down soon. Good stuff coming up!

clutchkman

I'll give you this Dan, Van Helsing fits the Halloween theme wayyyyyyy more than The Mummy did, and that got watched as a Halloween movie, unfortunately. (No, I won't let it go).

Richard Maurer

I'm not doing the "nagging for a poll every week" thing anymore. But if someone else were to suggest a Classic Sci-Fi or Classic Fantasy Poll, I would certainly have some ideas for it.

Richard Maurer

Totally forgot that she hasn’t seen It Chapter 2 yet.

Dan M

Yeah, you’re right. I just thought it fit the Halloween theme.

Dan M

Really? I never knew that. But I've never had one.

Rick Williams

Yes. I had to read that twice. And then I started trying to figure out what kind of pets she has?

Rick Williams

Yeah you are probably right.

Joe

I don't know if they still do this, but near Devil's Tower there is or was a campground that would play Close Encounters for people staying there.

Jakob Rygh

"So look with care for the shape of a square... Can you find it?!" That song is always stuck in my head when I watch Close Encounters.

Jakob Rygh

@mikethemotormouth - Totally agree. I was thinking more of all money-grab trash sequels to Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and especially, Scream and the Conjuring.

Richard Maurer

@Dan M - Looks pretty good except for Van Helsing. Like The Mummy it's a action movie disguised as a horror movie. If there has to be one of those I'd pick Blade or Underworld. Fire in the Sky is a little iffy but better than Van Helsing - imo.

Richard Maurer

I thought the band aid might have been from when you crashed your van. But, I don't know if it is better that it is from having a mole removed. Don't worry. Things are about to get better. And your kid will be fine in school. I never liked when school started. I never liked having to go back. I know it is hard for you to understand because you liked going back to school. Not all kids are like that. But, they will be fine. You can always vent here. Don't feel bad.

Rick Williams

I'm very excited for "King Kong"! But I hope you're not stopping there. The 1976 and 2005 remakes are both worth watching (especially the latter). There's also a quickie sequel to the original - so quick that it was released the same year as its predecessor, 1933 - called "Son of Kong," which is dumb but fun.

Joe Jupiter

No instead you throw the poodle through the window to teach it how to fly

mikethemotormouth

Seconding Fire in the Sky(1993) and Final Destination(2000)

mikethemotormouth

Wouldn't mind a bit of clarification on the 'heads falling off'. Quite a phrase to gloss over.

Lemurian Jones

That’s also my roar when I’ve had a bad day

Dan M

And technically It Chapter Two(2019) is not actually a sequel but the other half of the same story, much like Kill Bill Vol 2

mikethemotormouth

Check out the list I offered in a response to Katie. What do you think?

Dan M

Lol…well, I feel sheepish! Why don’t I just edit that out and pretend I didn’t ask 😂

Dan M

I love your suggestions! I haven't seen Fire In The Sky or The Relic though. I need to give Silver Bullet a rewatch, I haven't seen that one in years. I actually have Fright Night & Dark Skies as Recommendations to! A few others I have suggested are: 1) Happy Death Day(Obviously ☝️) 2)The Craft 3)The Frightners 4)The Faculty (Elijah Wood) 5)Constantine 6)The Fog(Original) 7)Thirteen Ghosts 8)Final Destination 9)Wait Until Dark 10)Underworld 11)Addams Family Values These are the less scary movies. I have another list for scarier movies. I've been considering The Good Son but that will be a rough watch for Cassie.

Katie Jackson

Our dream would be her nightmare

Dan M

Must be August 31st as that is a Saturday, and there isn't a Sept 31st :-)

Louisa Moritz

So close…well, it could have been worse. You could have suggested Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Dan M

YES!

Dan M

"we are in a copyright fightclub on every. single. video" - Good for you. It probably means the studios have realized you are big enough to be a cash cow for them. "Carly is also working on a bit of a surprise" - Her solo reaction? Or is she going on a "spy school" adventure- high speed driving class, shooting, sky diving, rappelling, etc. - and documenting it through Patreon exclusive videos? "A Poll of what to Poll next," - Throwing out my "movies playing in other reactions" idea again. "The Extra Butter Live will be a watch along during" - Please, not Star Trek. Also, any chance of using that new Patreon thing instead of YouTube? Or is that only for pre-recorded stuff?

Mike Lemon

Making friends makes all the difference. Knowing that you’re not alone in your anxiety and fears.

Dan M

Its so ironic that you brought up Halloween, because that’s one of the polls I was going to suggest for her Poll of What to Poll Next. I’ve been thinking about it for awhile now, trying to find movies that would fit into the Scary But Not Too Scary mold. This is what I’ve come up with so far. I’d love to hear your thoughts, knowing you’re a horror movie fan. 1. Fright Night 2. Dark Skies 3. Fire In The Sky 4. Silver Bullet 5. Van Helsing 6. The Relic I also love your suggestions for Halloween specials to lighten up the mood. Or maybe an animated movie like Hotel Transylvania.

Dan M

he doesn't miss! Hackman ain't no hack, man 😂

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Best performance? I haven't seen it in a while but I'm a fan of The Conversation myself... or The French Connection... Or Crimson Tide... damn maybe that man just never misses.

djKENTO

Yeah, Dark Phoenix felt like almost everyone involved with it did not want to be making those X-Men movies anymore and just wanted to be done with the whole thing. It was a really disappointing way to end that whole Fox X-Men chapter that had been going for almost two decades. Hopefully it's revived in a better fashion with Disney now in charge. Deadpool & Wolverine gave me some hope.

Stranger2Reality

One more time a great lineup for the week! Fun fact, take a lions roar mixed with a tigers roar, play it backwards at a lower speed, that's Kong's roar!🐵

Celeste McAllister

Stress can cause cold sores btw.

Shawn Kildal

How about a no sequels, real horror films only Halloween this year? Too much to ask? I don't think so.

Richard Maurer

I live in Dallas TX and my A/C went out as well last week for a few days. Plus it's 105 here. So miserable. Couldn't sleep which made me grouchy. I got a brand new unit now so all is well. Cassie, you should start a new channel. One based on your day to day life. Sounds like it's never a dull moment.

Shawn Kildal

Whoa, I don't think I've ever seen the words 'Ernest' and 'good' in the same sentence before.

Richard Maurer

So sorry to read that your week is a little Womp Womp right now. But I always like to think positive, and I’m sure by the end of the week it will be more like Ramma Lamma Lamma Ka Dingity Dinga Dong. But I know exactly where you’re coming from. This past week and and a half have been kinda hectic here. We’re getting ready to bring our youngest daughter back to college this Friday. Between getting all her stuff together, making a list of what we still need to get her, packing it all up, and renting a truck, its been a challenge. It was so nice having her home for almost 3 months. As far as your kids go, adjusting to a new grade or possibly a new building can be really tough. My oldest daughter had a tough time adjusting to middle school. My wife and I struggled to help her adjust, but it turns out she just needed time and our ears. Just let your kids know that you and Ben are always available to listen, empathize, and offer advice when needed. So…Apocalypses and Monsters and Disasters…oh my! This is quite a line up you’ve got coming our way. Should be lots of fun. And it looks like you’ve got a full schedule planned out already. I’ve got a couple of poll ideas I’m hoping you’ll consider. And I’m always excited to see what ideas the rest of the PIB community have to offer. Stay positive Cassie! Hope your week is nothing but roses 🌹

Dan M

Anything scarier than Monster Squad and she'd be out of there in 5 minutes, tops.

Richard Maurer

I wish it were the show, but most likely it's the movie.

Richard Maurer

I’m always up for an Ernest P. Worrell movie 😂😂

Ace Degenerate

Oh yea it needs to be the one from the 70s. I saw the poster you used and I got concerned. The newer ones are not very good by comparison. Make sure it's the one with Gene Hackman and Leslie Nielsen (in a serious role actually lol)

3dbadboy1

As an X-Men fan of 47 years and a dad who very nearly got away with naming my first daughter Jean Grey (my non comic book reading wife caught wind of why I was suggesting that name in particular and put the kibosh on it 😂😂😂), Dark Phoenix was just insultingly bad in my opinion. Sorry not sorry to anyone who likes it.

Ace Degenerate

Merciful heavens! I just read all that you week was like. you've had to have the patience of a one armed skipper with twelve holes in his boat and only a thimble to drain the water. Hope next week is better for you.

Tom Furze

Sounds like a rough week, but "our pets heads are falling off" was really funny. 😂

Jeff Rogers

this movie has one of my all time favorite scenes in any superhero/Marvel movie ever.

Sorry it's been a long week. Hopefully things will settle down soon. I was curious if we're going to get any Halloween Polls soon? 🎃 I definitely can feel Fall in the air here. Michigan's only getting to the upper 60's right now and it's making it feel like October, so I've been pulling out the horror movie and watching some of your horror reactions to get me through. Happy Death Day is a fun scary movie kinda like Zombieland or Tucker & Dale vs Evil. I think it'd be something you could really enjoy and not scare you too much. Can't wait to see what you decide to watch this year. I'd be up for some Halloween Specials if you haven't seen them too like, Garfield's Halloween Adventure, Bugs Bunny's Howl-O-Ween and of course It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown(All Carly Safe😉😄)

Katie Jackson

Nice Dumb & Dumber reference. Things will get back to normal soon enough. Just don't let your kids throw dirt through the window. 😁

Vlad D

Starting school was always difficult for me too. My family moved all over the country when I was younger and I was the new kid at school more times than I can remember. I was always super anxious and could hardly sleep leading up to that first day. That all went away after a few days though when I realized that I wasn’t the only nervous Nelly and eventually made friends. Anyway, I hope whatever your kid is going through passes soon. And whatever it is, they’ve got a great mother supporting them so I’m sure they’ll be fine!

Lee

Poiseidon Adventure, Oh my word! Yes! I am so excited for this one. And King Kong, hard to go wrong with this one. I am interested in your take on Apocalypse.

Tom Furze

I think we need to hold a poll on whether or not we need to do a poll. Appreciate the Dumb and Dumber reference BTW

mikethemotormouth

1972

Mike LL

Yay, I can't wait for your reaction to There Will Be Blood (2007). It is quite simply one of the best films of the decade and one of Daniel Day Lewis' very greatest acting roles as Daniel Plainview!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Hang in there. Will be interesting watching King Kong and The Poseidon Adventure. The reviews for X-Men: Apocalypse look mediocre, though seeing the beautiful Olivia Munn will be nice. She is awesome in "The Newsroom" (2012-2014). I am looking forward to Logan, and then after conclusion of the X-Men franchise, reactions to: Planet of the Apes (1968) + the most recent four (Rise, Dawn, War, Kingdom)

Clay F

The remake had Kurt Russell, who she loves. Not as good as the original but passable entertainment if needed

Bill Maurer

I know alot comments on original, Stella Stevens, Gene Hackman, and Pamela Sue Matin. And oh yes Red Buttons.🙂 Personally hate when Hollywood remakes Classics.

Tim C

If you're gonna do more John Grisham adaptations, I'd highly recommend first The Rainmaker and then The Client. X-Men Apocalypse is an OK movie, but it's a huge step down from Days of Future Past. It's about on par with X-Men 3. Dark Phoenix is legitimately bad though, but hey, soak up these characters/actors while you can, cause this is it for them. I'm seriously looking forward to Close Encounters and This Is Where I Leave You, great choices 😁

Stranger2Reality

It's never dull in PopcornLand!🍿😬 Hope things settle down a bit for y'all soon. Feel free to vent to your adopted Popcorn family! Sounds like you need another holiday!🙏

Chris Clarke

Original is 1972 with Gene Hackman

Steve Holton

I'm not familiar with that cover being used for the OG.

Brandon Pierce

1970s

Brandon Pierce

A big +1 for PLANET OF THE APES 1968. +1 for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962). AFI Top 100

Clay F

wait what year is the orig?

Cassie

I’ve got a Fun Movie for you Cassie, to show you maybe things could be worse… The Money Pit (1986)

Larry Darrell

Every time that was asked in the comments I just wanted to say....did you see the cover in her post???

Joel Wayne

Hoping it's the football movie

Joel Wayne

The image is showing the original. The remake had a "different" title too.

Joel Wayne

Was the Pelican Brief chosed over The Client?? So your telling me there's a chance?? Is what I'm hoping. Good movie though. Can't wait for The Poisidon Adventure. That's right up your ally 😂😂😂

Chris Retzlaff

No joke I'll just talk out loud to myself and call inanimate objects near me "my son and business partner H.W."

Choof

Oh, poor Cassie! What a cacophony of calamities! Seriously, you have suddenly made my, in comparison, small number of personal problems suddenly seem quite managable. Makes one glad to be in the position they are in, even you Cassie, I'm sure you wouldn't trade places with anyone if that meant being in a different place with a different family! Count you blessings! So glad to be seeing some X-Men again, even THIS movie, and the King himself will be swinging by! And while brushing up my PiB Wish List, I found I was most awaiting the upcoming CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND and THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE and now I have seen your CLOSE ENCOUNTERS reaction and POSEIDON is right around the corner! Yay! So for the rest of my Pib Wish List: New movie series: PLANET OF THE APES 1968 Start with this. Get back aboard the Hitchcock train. TO CATCH A THIEF (1954) is on the PPOTM list. With Carly, please: But also DIAL M FOR MURDER (1954), STRANGERS ON A TRAIN (1951) , NOTORIOUS,(1946) REBECCA (1940), SHADOW OF A DOUBT (1943), ROPE (1948), and THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1956). All these movies are Carly-Safe. These Hitchcock films should be a regular or semi-regular feature. Polls: Decade polls are a great idea, any decade, and I and others have advocated for 1930's and 1940's exclusive polls. How else to get BRINGING UP BABY (1938), THE PHILADELPHIA STORY (1940) or THE MALTESE FALCON (1941) on the channel? Recent movie: THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT (2022), the Nicholas Cage/Pedro Pascal joint that both Cassie and me want Cassie to react to. Rewatch movie: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962) with Carly, if Carly has not seen it.

Mike LL

When you said you “crashed a van” I am sure everyone like me just said - very quietly… “Oh Cassie, that makes seventeen accidents?” My gosh. Revoke this lady’s license! 😧 JK. Get up off the mat and keep fighting! Looking forward to everything in this post!

Ike

better Knock on Wood ;-)

Larry Darrell

It's definitely the original

Chris Retzlaff

You do usually drink a lot of milkshakes on trivia night 😊

Steve Holton

Hope you can react to Dracula 1931 for Halloween. Ernest Scared Stupid is another good one. Lol

Brian Wood

Sweet! Thanks for confirming!

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Pelican Brief is so good.

Korny

In the Live Dice game, she had the DVD or whatever of the original!

Mike LL

Cassie don't feel bad for being "negative", you have to vent and get it out. That's what we're here for, to share the pain!

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Yes, the original was drawn from the bag.

Steve Holton

Oh, it better be!

Mike LL

Yeah the made-for-TV remake was pure trash and the Poseidon with Josh Lucas was... Let's say it left much to be desired.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Original Poseidon Adventure?

Brandon Pierce

I really hope so. The remake was awful.

Art of Free Speech

Pretty sure?

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Close Encounters with King Kong! Coooooooool!!!

Robert Jewell

Do we know for sure she's doing the original?

Art of Free Speech

I for sure hope she's doing the original. The remake was terrible.

Art of Free Speech

A surprise from Carly? She going to watch a horror flick? By herself? In the dark? We can dream, can't we? 😄

Brian McGovern

I’m excited for this week and King Kong but the idea that There Will Be Blood is on the horizon has me gleeful! I would say DDL’s greatest performance.

Blake Evans

Did you get your license at Kmart? I've had one car accident in my life, it was the other person's fault and I'm 42. 🤣🤣

William Bryan

So many great things on the horizon, Daniel Day Lewis is transcendent in There Will be Blood, and like every time I watch it I'll spend a week doing an impression of his character in it afterwards. I'm assuming Invincible is the mark Wahlberg football movie and not the Amazon prime show which I think you'd actually really get into. I sent my first gift this week which I'm now looking forward to seeing in the next YT live (hint: it's TNG related)

Choof

Gene Hackman is great in about everything. The Poseidon Adventure just proves it. Great, great actor !!

Bill Maurer

Got excited for Invincible. Then I wondered, Invincible the football movie or Invincible the show? Hoping for the latter!

Joe

"our pets['] heads are falling off". Epic-level burying the lede.

Andrew Harrison

Be well all 🤞❤️🙏

Neil Varma

King Kong sounds good

Eddie

On a positive note, you totally landed a wicked Dumb and Dumber line!😊

Cole Jennett

YES Poseidon Adventure! I LOVE that one!!! Gene Hackman's best performance IMO

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Can’t wait for X-men Apocalypse. Not my favorite, but it gets us one movie closer to Logan 😘

Ace Degenerate

There will be blood ♥️

Daniel Karlsson

I'd love to see Carly join you if you do Peter Jackson's King Kong.
