Up-coming Home, I'm coming home, tell the world that i'm coming home.

We are HOME! We had a very long drive home yesterday. This morning my house is already filled with neighborhood friends and a giant mess, back to reality (a great one, not complaining). My pantry is stocked with canadian candy and my heart is full!

On our way home, we stopped in Montana at my aunt and uncle's cabin with a lot of my cousins and brother. It was heaven. Lake Life is my ultimate dream. Lake Life > Beach Life? its a yes for me! I was filling out (and up) the rest of our summer calendar today and is it just me or did it go by so fast?

I was trying very hard to plan a trip to Vegas this weekend to go to a Star Trek Convention ("Sentences I never thought would leave my mouth" for $500 Alex) Unfortunately, it does not seem to be in the stars. Every childcare option we have was unable to do it. I really need Captain Kirk to live very long and prosper very long so hopefully I can meet him next year.

This week we have a TOP25 PICKS POLL here on Patreon and a TOP50 PICKS POLL on YT! Please go vote on both if you would like! As for Patreon uploads we have dinosaurs, antiheroes and a dramedy oh my! What a mix! I think we are going to do Deadpool as a LIVE watch-along for the extra butter live on Tuesday night (with Carly). Not totally set in stone, but a strong probs.

Have you guys been watching the Olympics? I have not seen much as we have been at the lake except the instagram highlights but it seems there are some awesome stories coming out of athletes so far! I read (listened) to two books on the way home. I think because I don't watch a ton of chick flicks anymore, I get my fill with chick-lit! Let me know if you want my reccs ;)

So excited to be back in the popcorn bed, for production value to be good again on the vids and to get back in a rhythm. Hope you all have an above average week, see you at the movies!

This was so interesting to read, it felt like a quick trip into the mind of someone who had a lot to say. Sometimes we forget that simple things can mean so much, if we just take a moment to reflect on them. Thank you for sharing this insight, I feel more connected to the world after reading it! https://hiresineiw.info/

Cassie hasn't even come close to reacting to all of Hitchcock's best movies. Yes, she's seen PSYCHO, VERTIGO, REAR WINDOW, THE BIRDS and NORTH BY NORTHWEST, but Hitch directed over 50 feature films and at least half of them are worth watching. She still needs to see REBECCA, NOTORIOUS, ROPE, SHADOW OF A DOUBT, STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, TO CATCH A THIEF, SABOTEUR, I CONFESS, FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT, LIFEBOAT, THE LADY VANISHES, THE 39 STEPS, THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, DIAL M FOR MURDER, SPELLBOUND and FAMILY PLOT.

Stick Figure Studios

subscribe movie are warcraft harry potter and the goblet of fire harry potter and the chamber of secrets disney live action pinocchio wonka disney live action peter pan and wendy godzilla vs kong winner movie's send to my best friend Cassie she's sweet like popcorn

David

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2GdZ2ReMQo Here, have some compilation of the Godzilla evolution through all 39 films of his! esp. the us version, gonna be a huuge chore watching all of these!

Rene G.

Is Cassie going to cover "Event Horizon" anytime soon? How many jumpscares 😱 does everyone think she'll get out of THAT one? 😈😁

Robert N Douglass

"Marion, my dear: I love you more than life itself."🦊🥲

Chris Clarke

Thanks to Cassie, I've just bought the Bluray of Disney's Robin Hood: it looks amazing on screen!😊

Chris Clarke

Ryan Reynolds

Just Plain Bob

What's "RR"?

Atreyu Auryn

It's a great new feature, although as a heads up - it is still in early access so not all creators have it yet. That said, a feature that is out for all creators and has been around for a little while now is the Patreon Shop. This is where some reactors have uploaded the video files of their reactions for individual purchase allowing people to bypass the membership side of Patreon and just grab what they want to. Not all reactors have taken advantage of the Shop, but I hope that once the selling post option is out for everyone that reactors either pick that or the Shop feature.

kaiielle

I would rather see her react to Invictus (2009)

Clay F

Agree. I've only seen parts of the first. The meta stuff is so annoying.

Chris Thom

I'm probably in the minority but I find RR/Deadpool incredibly irritating

Odd Thomas

I am so glad the option has been added to buy the posts you want to individually. I hope this catches on to other Patreon channels.

Robert Durant

Which ones has she done?

Chris Clarke

Cassie has already reacted to his best films, I prefer she move on to other directors.

Joe

There was significant competition in that YT poll: -Close Encounters = AFI Top 100 -Dazed and Confused (1993) and An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) are modern classics -Ready Player One (2018) is a good Spielberg movie I like Frequency but voted Dazed and Confused (1993).

Clay F

Wow. Two Godzilla movies! The original and the highly rated new one. Looking forward to your reactions to them as well as Deadpool. Ryan Renolds is amazing as the merc with the mouth. You may not get the inference, but after watching it, I think you’ll understand lol

Anjolie Lanel

It's a love story.

Ortizmo2000

I do think she should add Shin Godzilla at least, it's almost as good G:M1

Richard Maurer

She's already watched two and it is only the second day of her "week". I think she'll be fine.

Mike Lemon

4 movies a week never works out for you, remember? You always play catch up on the next week.

Craig Russell

Yes! In the face!

Stranger2Reality

I would also recommend watching the romantic comedies of Nia Vardalos’s Greek funnies. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 1,2,3 and my personal favorite My Life in Ruins (which is from the director of how to lose a guy in 10 days.)

Nathan H

Did not seem to be Carly's favorite. The humor is not for everyone. I like the humor.

Clay F

"My sister told me this was a superhero movie!"

Happy Hanukkah

Deadpool with…..Carly? This I have to see to believe.

Ortizmo2000

GOOD MORNING, MY NEIGHBORS!!!

Ortizmo2000

If you haven't seen it, you (and maybe Cassie, too) should watch the television show 'A Discovery of Witches'. Escape into a tale of forbidden love and ancient magic, set in a world where witches, vampires, and daemons live amongst us... hiding in plain sight. The show is based on Deborah Harkness's best-selling All Souls Trilogy. It's three short seasons.

Choux D Bruxelles

Do We Know that Cassie is only watching movies for views on YT?

Larry Darrell

Voted Close Encounters - obvious choice in this poll.

Richard Maurer

Don't threaten me with a good time.

Richard Maurer

Who's watching Monarch? And you can never have too many kaiju.

Richard Maurer

@Carol_White - Well if Cassie goes by YT she'll never watch a classic movie again. While I don't expect her watch classics or other less popular stuff very often, once in awhile isn't too much to ask.

Richard Maurer

The youtube poll comments are all leaning toward frequency. Cassie I'm smelling a ppotm contender.

Seymor Butz

True, she could do the 28 Zatoichi movies, plus Ichi, maybe the Zatoichi vs Predator short.

Mike Lemon

I'm mostly with you Mike, but there are exceptions to every rule ;-)

Richard Maurer

I cannot wait until your reaction to Godzilla, I am absolutely thrilled!

Edward A Kerr

Speaking of the man, I think Cassie would enjoy his directorial debut "The Man Without a Face".

Christopher B.

Frequency 2000, is a great and wonderful movie.

Rodger

There's also a load of potential films from Ealing Studies in England, which start in 1930 or so and finished in 1960. The "Ealing Comedies" were well known. Most are obviously in B & W. Personally I enjoyed "Train Of Events" from 1949, which has drama, humour, tragedy and romance, good acting and a lot of old steam engines!😀

Chris Clarke

I have seen all the x-men films and deadpool but I didn't know that deadpool came before x men apocalypse. Can't wait for the two of you see deadpool though. It's haliriously amazing!

John Mulbury

Cassie has already watched all the required Hitchcock. Each one has done worse on YouTube than the one previous. So we can guess what'll happen with future entries. I would prefer that she get introduced to a new great director. There are lots to choose from.

Carol_White

Richard, you are totally right. I would not like that. Three at most but two is better. Maybe in 2028 get two more.

Mike Lemon

Dang! Definitely Do.

Larry Darrell

I agree with these statements.

Larry Darrell

I still need to see DAZED AND CONFUSED myself.

Stick Figure Studios

Oh no!!! This is where I leave you!!! That one gets me every time 😢

Seven Coughlin

Forgot to even look at the YT Poll. That’s a tough one, but super excited Close Encounters is winning as well. It’s crazy she’s gone this long without seeing it. I watched Dazed and Confused again back at the beginning of summer and remembered how much I love that movie. That’s definitely going to be an at least once a year movie from now on.

Larry Darrell

I believe she pretty much watches everything with the captions on nowadays.

Stick Figure Studios

I know poeple get Kaiju Crazy, but theres only so muych godzilla I can take. Minus 1 is a great movie though. But twith watching that and Monarch i'm a bit Monstered out.

rakesh

We need a "I promised" week.....maybe even a month.

Richard Maurer

@Kyle - not yet, but I'm hoping this will get her into them.

Richard Maurer

Mike probably won't like this, knowing how he feels about series, but I wish it were more like 10 Godzilla movies (at least). And HotD would be a better series for her

Richard Maurer

Not really

rakesh

I am most excited about the fact that CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND is currently winning the YT poll. I''ve been pushing that one for a long time (that would even be a good Carly reaction). If you do end up watching it, Cassie, please, PLEASE, seriously consider watching it in your basement home theater because it is truly one of the most breathtaking big screen experiences you can have.

Stick Figure Studios

I second a Hitchcock poll.

Stick Figure Studios

somehow some way i really want cassie to react to game of thrones

Augustine Lee

Yes.

Mike Lemon

Kaiju no. 8 for the next series?

Mike Lemon

She also "promised" Saw. That was two years ago.

Mike Lemon

@Happy- That's all that matters.

Mike Lemon

@Justin S. - "They weren't mocking Christianity, they were celebrating a a little known Dutch painting that copied one of the most iconic Christian images and twisted it to blasphemy/paganism." Is that really what you want to go with?

Mike Lemon

do we really need two godzilla movies?

Augustine Lee

I see 4 upcomings, including two about a big lizard, but no sign of the other two S6 TNG episodes. Don't be swayed by the Trek-hating Romulans, Cassie. They do not have the Federation's best interests at heart!

Clarence Newman

Hey Cassie Eva here The US women's gymnastics team just won gold. I know it's not Canada. But still

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Brilliant movie, possibly Eddie's best, definitely the most fun. And how many times are you going to get Eddie Murphy, Cuba Gooding jr and Samuel L Jackson together in the same film?!

Clarence Newman

It was a bit hit and miss for sure, but there were some beautiful moments too.

Chris Thom

Oh good I'm glad you got to see it! Best thing I've seen in a while. Was thinking about her Canadian heritage. I think America and France also kind of claim her as well. But she's a Quebec girl through and through.

Chris Thom

So... Is cassie interested in Kaiju films now? Just wondering...

Kyle Prince

I think she promised to watch The girl with the dragon tattoo. It came second in the foreign poll 😀

Björn Karlsson

I'm all in on the women's water polo, and I'm loving the way Flavor Flav from Public Enemy has become the sponsor and hype man for the US women's team as they're trying for their 4th consecutive gold medal this year.

Stranger2Reality

The surfing has been spectacular and Ilona Maher is a rugby queen! For cycling geeks, the Women's Mountain Biking was also epic with Haley Batten (Park City!) winning the silver. Also, Rose, don't know if you saw Deadpool vs. Wolverine yet but, without spoilers, there was a pretty authentic Cajun accent thrown around 😁

Above Average Dave

this sounds so fun, what a girls trip, ,love it! Thank you so much, I just might take you ip on that!

Cassie

Hitchcock didn't really make horror films. The Birds and Psycho are the closest he came and even those are a stretch. So not only don't you have to wait for Oct., I really wish you wouldn't.

Richard Maurer

agreed. A Canadian treasure, it was amazing

Cassie

He's suspense rather than horror, so I'd agree!

Chris Clarke

yes!!!! dont need to wait until oct for a AF poll right!?

Cassie

Hi Cassie! Can I ask you to consider an Alfred Hitchcock poll? He has quite a portfolio of films to choose from, most of them well regarded, but I must admit to only having watched "Strangers On A Train" which I enjoyed. I would certainly be happy to see that again, or discover one of his other films. 🙂 Anyone else concur?

Chris Clarke

Love this movie. I think Cassie would too.

Jeri1979

I agree only because I have to miss it tonight, and would have loved to have been there for Deadpool live

Cole Jennett

I voted for it too Rose. I think it’s a sure thing that she will really like it. Not so sure of the others. I prefer Dazed and Confused, but it’s just not a Cassie movie. I think it was Ashleigh Burton or Shantelle Riccio that just hated D&C

Cole Jennett

Anyone else thinks Cassie just missed a great opportunity to react to COMING TO AMERICA? 😀

Gábor Árki

By the way folks, do a search for "Godzilla 1954 Toho internet archive", there is your free copy of the film on archive.org.

Mike LL

I’ve never been a big Olympics guy but if there was a part of me that really wanted to tune in this year, the opening ceremony was enough to take away any excitement. It wasn’t too long ago, 2008 in Beijing, that we had the greatest opening ceremony ever. And now we had the garbage that we just saw..

Shehab Dawoud

Cassie, Coming Home Pt 2 By Skylar Grey. https://youtu.be/k84QxVJd0tI?si=oe59qMLj2ocVWjtI I know that song, good old Zach doesn't even know who Skylar Grey is. When I asked if I could respond to ur Upcoming his response "knock ur self out" I never saw Starship Troopers so I can't comment. However if ur looking for a good Denise Richards movie look no further than Wild Things (1998) that movie is a sexy steamy Florida thriller that stars Denise Richards, Kevin Bacon and Bill Murray. The girls in my sorority use 2 watch it all the time because it shows Kevin Bacon in his birthday suit. Now that u and ur family r home safe and sound. B sure 2 go find that Caitlin Clark hat. It's among the many many packages u get look 4 the 1 from the Pacers Store. Rip it open it's yours girl. Wear it proudly. Zach and I have been watching women's sports even though Caitlin Clark should have been on the WBB team. Deadpool, and This Is Where I Leave You are great movies Much ❤️ to u and yours Cassie don't forget ur channel change's people's lives Eva & Z

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

That's how I sold my gf on it years ago... We are no longer together. Lol

What you said happened is not what actually happened, if you would educate yourself on The Feast of the Gods, painted by the artist Jan van Bijlert between 1635 and 1640.

Justin S.

"Up-coming Home, I'm coming home, tell the world that i'm coming home." I'm on my way, I'm on my way, Home sweet home. "Lake Life > Beach Life?" No, beach life is much better! MUCH better, honest! All of you need go to the beach right now! What's that? Of course I'll join you, as soon as I take care of some things at the lake, but don't wait for me... "I really need Captain Kirk to live very long and prosper very long so hopefully I can meet him next year." Sure looks like Spock's blessing worked.

Happy Hanukkah

Classic.

Happy Hanukkah

So you're the one.

Richard Maurer

Chills - I felt that! She’s a warrior. That was the best part of the entire opening ceremony for me.

Rose

Is the Godzilla 54 on Max the Japanese version? Because that's the one she's watching.

Richard Maurer

Frequency isn’t winning - that’s such a Cassie/Carly movie! It’s with Jim Caviezel - Dennis Quaid - the late Andre Braugher. Love that movie. Honestly hope you keep it in mind for a PPotM.

Rose

"I usually have mild interest in the medal count but that is about it" Let me help you out: the Yanks are beating the Russkies. (I was willing to put money on this result, but for some inexplicable reason, no bookie would accept my bet.) :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Not for Carly? Huh? It's a love story! :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Richard Maurer, the first person to enter Heaven while muttering: "The horror... the horror..." :-)

Happy Hanukkah

And now you've got me wondering whether the Buck line inspired the following one, at 0:17 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep30EE2v0mU :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Super excited for Godzilla! The Olympic events have been exciting. My favs so far have been Eventing - the cross country course at Chateau de Versailles was so beautiful and the show jumping! / Swimming / Gymnastics / Table Tennis / Badminton Twins Annie and Kerry Xu / Beach Volleyball - if you haven’t seen the last match between the women’s USA vs CZECH game (Kelly Cheng & Sara Hughes of the U.S. dominated and that rally at the end was pretty magical). Also U.S. women’s rugby. Ofc I’m loving the surfing event in Tahiti! I’m rooting for the teen phenom Caitlin Simmers from Oceanside, CA 🤍

Rose

Can't wait to see if she can handle the monsterverse of Godzilla 2014, Gozilla 2019 king of the monsters with Mothra, and the 2 new Godzilla vs Kong movies. Skull Island is a preqieul to 2019 King of the monsters btw

Rene G.

No it isn't. Saying the word Christianity or Judaism isn't discussing religion. Proselytizing, denigrating, debating pros and cons, quoting Scripture, trying to change minds- that's discussing religion. Nobody did that. Saying something happened is just saying something happened.

Mike Lemon

I didn't say to skip Deadpool. Watch it later. Tomorrow night, watch Godzilla LIVE.

Mark Vaderr

What's really maddening is that some services play the same titles at different speeds. You'll notice that the movies get out of sync over time, or for me, I'll get annoyed that Cassie isn't reacting to a joke or surprise with me.

Kevin

The reviews seem harsh but I may watch the reaction. I do like that cast.

Clay F

Where's the thumbs down for this comment 😉 Can't skip Deadpool

Eric Lopez

Probably my most expensive autograph was Robert Englund (still only $25 or $30 at the time I got it). But it wasn’t an autograph for “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” It was for a little known horror film from the 70s called “Eaten Alive.” I was fortunate enough to have an original one sheet for that one. My buddy said that Englund was really tickled to sign that one; he said no one ever asked for his autograph for that movie. He played a small but significant role as “Buck”, uttering the immortal line “My name is Buck and I’m here to f**k.” Quentin Tarantino recycled the line early on in “Kill Bill Vol. 1.” “Eaten Alive” was directed by Tobe Hooper, of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” fame and is essentially “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, only on the bayou instead of Texas and with a giant pet croc instead of a chainsaw. Like “Chainsaw”, you feel like you need to take a hot shower after watching it.

Just Plain Bob

I just checked Godzilla 1954 on amazon Prime and the Japanese language defaults to English subtitles. I don't think [CC] is available. It has NR and R versions - not sure if there's a difference, let's go with NR 🙂 "We were playing our instruments on the ship when suddenly underneath the ocean a blinding flash of light and we were thrown about. We saw a vessel in the distance in distress going down..."

Mannygogou

Dont forget you promised to watch There will be blood 😃

Daniel Karlsson

Godzilla Minus One is on Netflix and it has the original Japanese + English subtitles from the theatrical showing. I just watched it. I believe you select the original language and it will default with English subtitles, not selecting CC. I saw it in the theater as well and I'm sure it's the same subtitles. I have seen a few reactors using the CC version so that's why I mentioned it.

Mannygogou

That is discussing religion lol.

Mario

Cassie, forget Deadpool and watch the Original Godzilla tomorrow night for the Extra Butter LIVE!

Mark Vaderr

Yeah, that one you need alot of info over the past 28 yrs

Chris Retzlaff

This is where I leave you is a fantastic comedy

Chris Retzlaff

Deadpool came out right before Logan, so I guess that's why

Chris Retzlaff

People speak pretty highly of it nowadays. Just for how ambitious it was. But yeah it was a notorious flop.

Chris Thom

Godzilla 1954- Max Godzilla -1 Netflix Deadpool- Disney+ This is where I Leave You- VOD rental

Chris Retzlaff

Yeah same. Surprised how hard some of them are to find. I have five damn streamers and still can't find a 'free' version.

Chris Thom

Gave me chills. Bummed I never saw her in Vegas all those years. Only an hour flight and I totally missed it.

Chris Thom

No, I hated it.

David Patterson

The friend that gets the autographs for me said the most expensive he’s seen was Norman Reedus. Fortunately for me, I prefer mostly stars and character actors from older films, so the autographs tend to be cheaper (typically only $20 or less). Since I rarely get more than one or two autographs per convention, it’s relatively inexpensive. I usually spend as much or more on the frame (or having them framed for the ones I really love) as I do the actual autograph.

Just Plain Bob

Carly might actually really enjoy Godzilla Minus One if she's available to watch it. The movie has a lot of heart and there's a love story as well.

Brad P

Can you share on which service you are watching the movies so we can watch along. It’s hard to find some.

JULIE

I’ll watch your Deadpool reaction because I couldn’t get through the first 15 minutes so I want to see another smart woman get through it and maybe I’ll learn something

JULIE

I find it for most platforms. In closed captions they seen to not include translations of foreign dialogue that would normally be available in the original presentation. Obviously closed captioning has an important purpose for the hearing impaired to follow what is going on (musical cues, off camera sounds, etc) but I have always found weird that a lot of the time they miss some of the subtitling from the original presentation. I have noticed Cassie has missed some of this in a couple of reactions as she uses closed captioning from time-to-time.

Mojo One Thousand

Best lake movies? On Golden Pond was practically made for you personally. And one more reason you'd enjoy Grumpier Old Men. A lot of people like it more than the first. I know Ashleigh did.

Raieldon

Considering what she’s been through and still going through, her performance was worthy of a gold medal. The woman is a phenomenal singer.

Dan M

I didn't say anything religious (nobody in this thread has), just that fact that a religion was mocked.

Mike Lemon

Been watching soooo many opening ceremonies lately. Kind of obsessed right now. I was surprised at how well the Atlanta one holds up. Really was well done. Might be my all time favorite. The change of scenery for Paris ceremony and locations is inspired.

Chris Thom

Don't know if this is just a rumor or not, but I heard Matthew Lillard charges a lot for everything.

Chris Thom

Are you protesting it or something?

Chris Thom

Welcome home! Been enjoying the Olympics. But still can't get over Celine at the opening ceremony. That was really special. Seen it like nine times now and it still gets to me every time.

Chris Thom

@Mike Lemon, The rule is actually no religious or political discussions (and you started this comment thread talking about the former).

Mario

Glad you’re back, and please don’t leave the U.S. again for a while. As you can see, crazy stuff happens when you’re gone🤣 Love to hear that you had a wonderful time up in Alberta and lakeside in Montana. It sounds like you got to relax a bit, but, with all the driving and other responsibilities, hope you get a chance to rest - at least for a day or two! God bless!

Above Average Dave

Guess I will have to miss out on this month's live as I will never watch Deadpool ever again, not even for Cassie.

David Patterson

Can't believe I missed this- "Funny how those taking issue with it now, never want to say the quiet part out loud of what they have issue with." This isn't the place to discuss politics or how wrong you are, but if you can be civil, I can be found on reddit. It's u/MikeLemon if you want to DM me for a discussion.

Mike Lemon

You may not be able to meet Shatner but in 2 months: Mel Gibson at FanX Salt Lake!! https://fanxsaltlake.com/guest/mel-gibson/

OneManReactionFaction

Welcome home Cassie. Looking forward to Deadpool. I saw the third one yesterday and while I enjoyed it the first one is still the best. I only watched the opening ceremony which I enjoyed very much but outside of that I haven’t been paying attention.

Alex Gorell

Well, Bob, you should check it out. It's not perfection, but it's close. I was just reflecting on Cassie's talk about staying at a cabin by a lake in Montana where beautiful views can make daily problems less problematic. Best wishes.

Robert Jewell

Cassie, since you can't make the convention this year, here's a video of Shatner speaking at another "convention" (I don't know if this has been posted yet)- https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x81rboa

Mike Lemon

They keep making it worse. And Now I never get notifications on my phone anymore.

Alex Gorell

Thanks a lot. I try to live a life without envy of others. You’ve just made that impossible. Sounds idyllic. And, yes, I envy you. Damn.

Just Plain Bob

Hard to get context when nobody has seen the reference material, learned that with my mom taking her to Deadpool & Wolverine 😄

JohnnyUtah

Thanks

Keith Brown

Chick-lit is clever.😊

Cole Jennett

Godzilla Minus One

Mike Lemon

What is the full title of the Patreon movie pictured on the right ? VUS O is all I can see!

Keith Brown

Wait, the Olympics are going on? I was wondering why we had that poll ;-)

Richard Maurer

It was a shot at Christians. That kind of statement has no place at the Olympics.

Rick Williams

Just because The Last Supper has been "parodied and used for inspiration 1000s of other times" does not make it ok now or then. Sadly Christians as a group are weak and have refused to stand up for their religion (myself included) but it has reached a new level with openly mocking Christianity on the global stage.

My_Cousin_Mose

"There was no mocking of anything." Riiiight. Keep telling yourself that if it helps you.

Mike Lemon

I recommend watching “Deadpool” with the subtitles on. The jokes fly fast and furious and it can be easy to miss one while your mind is processing the last one. At least with the words on screen you have an extra opportunity to catch what they’ve said. I think Cassie usually keeps the subs on anyway, just wanted to throw this out there, in case.

Just Plain Bob

Welcome back!!! So glad you were able to get away and enjoy your family time! So excited for everything coming up! You're the best (and Carly, too)!

fire12wife

Dont want to get into it. But as a point of clarification. There was no mocking of anything. The Greek God Dionysus was displayed along with a representation of the famous painting "Feast of the Gods" even if the alleged other painting was used, it has been parodied and used as inspiration 1000s of other times across mediums. Funny how those taking issue with it now, never want to say the quiet part out loud of what they have issue with. France is a different culture, and a different relation to christianity. France the summer home of the Pope for a time, and also for a time the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. It is a bit rich to try and chastise them for their culture, or assume they are doing something they are not. You are being invited in you dont get to be taken aback when they dont have views, or relationship to something you do. Everything about the OC was French, and it was tame French at that. Brilliant, artistic, bold, and keeping with the theme of the games.

Michael G

@Mike Lemon I wonder, though, how much she remembers. She has said that she doesn’t remember X-Men being referred to in the movie and they feature quite prominently. I’m guessing she totally missed 90% of the humor the first time and may only remember the story in its broadest terms. She simply didn’t have the background to understand lines such as “McAvoy or Stewart? These timelines are so confusing.”

Just Plain Bob

Man oh man, I'm so looking forward to seeing your reaction to GODZILLA, I've been a GODZILLA fan since I was a kid and given that this year marks the G-man's 70th birthday, very fitting! As for DEADPOOL, I love the movie but it should be interesting to see how you feel about it given its crude humor and violence, I'm surprised you're not finishing the X-Men franchise with Apocolypse and Logan, those are technically the last two! Still, it should be interesting, Ryan Reynolds was born for that role lol! Glad you made it home safely, sorry I'm not into the Olympics! Honestly, I'm glad Summer is going by fast, I can't stand this heat, I want the cold, me want Winter LOL🤣 Looking forward for you reaction to GODZILLA, can't wait! Hope all is well, love and support, you & Carly are the best, and God bless y'all🥰😇🙏😁😉👍✌🌹

Wesley White

Just remember, Cassie has already seen it (at least according to the "already watched" list).

Mike Lemon

Yeah, patreon likes to slowly roll out their screw-ups, rather than tormenting everyone at once.

Richard Maurer

Good to know. I’m presuming this is for the Amazon streaming platform. Thanks for the tip.

Just Plain Bob

Too bad about the Star Trek convention this week. My wife goes every year (she's been packing for it the last couple days) and would have loved to see you there. She said they have special guests that are podcasters and such and that you should reach out to Creation Entertainment about next year, as they might possibly want to invite you if you do decide to go. I'm not a Trekkie so I've never been myself, but she and her friends who go every year have a great time, especially at nights after the convention each day, doing Klingon karaoke and various meetups and whatnot. Hopefully you're able to go next year. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll relay them to her.

Stranger2Reality

Maybe there's a setting, that I didn't change, but can be changed back. My Phone and Desktop have it the new way. Maybe the update just hasn't reached you yet. I Don't Know. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Just one those things when all you can do is ask, WHY?

Larry Darrell

"Have you guys been watching the Olympics?" - The summer games I usually have mild interest in the medal count but that is about it. Surfing sounded interesting, it was fun to watch back in the day, when it wasn't in the Olympics (note- Soul Surfer (2011) - highly recommended), but after that mocking of one of the most holy days in Christianity (and Judaism to an extent), I'm done with Paris.

Mike Lemon

I really enjoy that movie as well and didn't understand the lackluster reaction to it. I do think Cassie will like it though.

Stranger2Reality

Godzilla minus 1 is gonna be heavy

Eric Wallace

Apparently that's only the app. On my laptop it's still newest (bottom) to oldest (top)

Richard Maurer

The comments are reversed now. They read newest to oldest. I don't like using the App for this reason. We've always read left to right, top to bottom... For Ever. Now they want us to read backwards from Bottom to Top. But we're not just reading from Bottom straight to Top. Our eyes are reading DOWN each post, and then we have to go back UP the page to the next post, and read DOWN again, and then back UP, and DOWN, UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN. Add in the replies and then you go WAAAYYY DOWN and then WAAAAYYYY Up and DOWN and UP and DOWN. Ah Screw IT... I'm just getting OLD. ;-(

Larry Darrell

Looking forward to DEADPOOL (I've seen once -- by chance in the theater when released and thought it hilarious). Looking forward to the two GODZILLA movies (never seen unless the older one when I was a kid). I will likely skip This Is Where I Leave You (2014). Great cast but ...

Clay F

For subtitles, use the "regular" subtitles - don't use the "close captioned" [CC] subtitles. Funny enough you can choose, so deselect "CC" and it'll be great. It's the better experience -thank you.

Mannygogou

Uhh... What's changed? The only thing I see different is the worthless "popular posts" on the right side, but that has been over there for about a month now.

Mike Lemon

Sooo Deadpool is NSFC, not safe for Carly. I cannot wait until your reaction though.

JohnnyUtah

I live on an island on a big lake with mountains on both sides. It's a good life. Clean and simple.

Robert Jewell

Every time they change patreon they make it worse. How is that even possible?

Richard Maurer

Two Godzilla movies and Deadpool in one week, I think I might be in heaven...... but It would take a Classic Horror poll to convince me!

Richard Maurer

That will be very enjoyable. When I first saw it, it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, so pretty sure they’re perception of it will be great

Omar

Yes to the book recommendations please. And I strongly recommend "The Idea of You" by Robinne Lee. I'm NOT talking about the movie on Amazon (or watch that AFTER reading/listening to the book) but the book the movie is LOOSELY based on. So much MORE in the book than what is included in the movie!!

Peggy Zehr

A while back they sent out a survey on how to improve the site. I assume this is the result of that survey.

Mario

Deadpool will be great 😁👍🏽

Omar

A buddy of mine frequently attends horror conventions across the country. He always asks me if there’s anyone whose autograph I’d like. I look up the convention and see who’s signing and, if there’s anyone of interest, I’ll ask him to get their autograph. I couldn’t care less about meeting or getting the autograph of the Brad Pitt’s and Jennifer Lawrence’s of the world. But George Romero or Gunner Hansen (got ‘em both, shortly before they passed)? Sign me up!!! Anyway, one of the conventions my friend attended included Haruo Nakajima, the original Godzilla suit actor. I got his signature on a replica Godzilla one sheet. A few months later, he passed away (a sadly recurring theme for my horror movie icons/heroes). That one sheet is one of my prize possessions and used to hang prominently on the wall in my office at work, along with my other autographed one sheets, diplomas and certifications. I love it and very much look forward to Cassie’s introduction to the King of the Monsters.

Just Plain Bob

Somebody on staff had to justify not being downsized by showing some work changing the appearance, but didn't want to make _too_ much of an effort by actually making the comments threaded properly.

JAKH

I can't help but get a feeling of "My job here is done" when I read that you want to go to a Star Trek convention!!! So loving that you want to do that.

Art of Free Speech

Awwwww; not a Fkn ''live'' for Deadpool, yuck.

Diiirk706

It's too bad about the Star Trek convention, but at least you tried. There's always next year. And if you don't get to see Shatner, maybe you'll get to see George Takei or even Patrick Stewart. It's still kind of surreal that you were even entertaining the option. I've only ever been to one Star Trek convention myself, and that was 23 years ago, a small one about 2 hours away from me. I didn't get to see any of the big stars. Only Garrett Wang from Voyager, But he was great. He was also very personable and friendly. I got a communicator badge and a Deep Space Nine poster.

Welcome Home!!! The Olympics have been great so far. I took my usual week off of work for them. The Opening Ceremonies were AMAZING!!! I might have to rewatch Beijing which was my previous #1, to see how close Paris gets. The new format took some getting use to, but i love the change up, and the use of the Seine. For anyone who saw Napoleon (2023) they will understand why the heavy use of boats is so funny. Having the Olympics in Paris/France has been terrible. Venues at The Grand Palais, The Eiffel Tower, Tahiti, and the woodland of Versailles, just gross, disgusting, revolting, why would anyone ever want that /s No Olympics are going to be able to top these venue locations. Competition has been good, although our Canadas Women's team is lucky they were not fully DQ'ed. I usually have events running on the TV, two windows on my computer, and one on my laptop. I could have 10 events all on screens easily if i were able. Thankfully CBC has all the events recorded so anything can be replayed. Really looking forward to Godzilla. A perfect film. I have not noticed much subtitled content on the channel, so i hope it holds up, reaction wise. A foreign film subtitles poll could be fun. Or to keep things in theme with the Olympics still going for just under two weeks, a French Film poll. My one exception would be a documentary, following a Frenchman in America - Man on Wire (2008)

Michael G

Godzilla movies have a habit of copyright striking channels. I'd be careful with the editing of those films.

Mario

What the H.E.🏒🏒 happened to Patreon!! Up is Down, Down is Up!! Why do they always have to change things? Dad Gommit!! 🙃

Larry Darrell

Welcome home Cassie! Sounds like the trip had a strong finish. I saw Deadpool years ago and I remember liking it more than I like most superhero movies. I have not been particularly loving the last few X-men movies but I'm giving em a shot. I have not been watching the Olympics. And after those disgusting opening ceremonies I don't think I'll ever watch them again.

My_Cousin_Mose

Couldn’t agree more, I’d rather be by a mountain lake than a coastal beach any day. That’s the destination of most of my vacations. Hit Glacier National last year.

Kevin V

Celine Dion was amazing. Incredible comeback.

JohnG500

“Home is where the heart is” “There’s no place like home “ “Home is not a place, its a feeling” “We shape our homes, then our homes shape us” So many awesome quotes about home…but plain and simple, its just nice to have you back safe and sound at PIB headquarters. Welcome back!

Dan M

At first I couldn't tell what movie that 4th one was, and the way it's cropped I thought it was the word for where poop comes from. I'm like what is that..... it can't be..... OOOOOOH it's GODZILLA, right! right... MINUS... not the other word.

YodatheHobbit

Glad you made it home safely! Sorry to hear about the convention falling through. Maybe next time, although the guest stars are not always the same at the cons.

BibbitduBois

Deadpool...Deadpool. I'm so very sorry to both of you wonderful ladies for having to endure this movie. And I can't @#$%ing wait.

Steve Mercier

DEADPOOL!!

brismithejedi

Welcome home !! For Godzilla, Minus One, stick with the Japanese version with English subtitles. I heard the dubbed English version is bad. Hoping Carly can join you for both of these.

Bill Maurer

Wow what a week.

aarswft

I strongly recommend watching Godzilla Minus One with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles.

Team Velocity

Lol, oh I cannot wait to see the Deadpool reaction!

Chris Parker

I'd definitely do lake cabin over beach and day. It should be fun seeing all of the head turning, watching with squinted eyes during Deadpool....lol.

Joel Wayne

I thinks she's going to love Godzilla Minus One.

abraham wilson

Just to make sure, You'll be watching the original Japanese version of Godzilla from 1954, and not the americanized version from 1956 titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters with Raymond Burr, right?

Timothy Fisher

Awesome !

Neil Varma

Montana seems like a very stunning picturesque place. It's actually where one of the most notorious Hollywood movies of all time was filmed there: Michael Cimino's Heaven's Gate (1980), a film that went so over budget and bombed so badly at the box office, that it bankrupted the studio that financed it, United Artists. If you ever watch it, be warned: it is a very long, boring, incoherent mess of a film

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Extra butter deadpool watch along is such a great idea I almost fainted, saw deadpool and wolverine this weekend and despite all the gore and vulgarity I think there is tons of stuff in it you'd find fun

Choof

so excited for Deadpool finally. Then Logan and Deadpool 2... so much to look forward too!

Adam Doyle

This is where I leave you is an excellent movie! All great movies this week actually

Nick Ireland

Looks like I picked the perfect week to join... DEADPOOOOOOOL!
