Upcoming!

Hey everyone! This will be my last update from up North. Bittersweet! This week had a few bumps in the road (pun intended). I got in a little car wreck. Everyone is ok, except my poor van. It was my fault. I feel so dumb and it was just a stupid mistake and I just keep questioning whether I had left 5 seconds later or earlier etc. Just not a good feeling. It complicates things a bit that it happened in a different country too. BUT I know it could have been worse, and that is what insurance is for etc. I'm just mad at myself. I also had my second night since I have been here of throwing up all night. I think Poutine might have food poisoned me which I don't know if I can come back from mentally you know? My countries delicacy destroyed me?
So in happier news, it has been really great to spend time here and my kids have been swimming all day every day. My mom and I started a 2000 piece puzzle and became addicted but only 2 days to finish, we may have overestimated our abilities. It has been great to catch up with cousins and girlfriends and reset a bit in a slower paced day to day here! I am looking forward to being back home though too and start getting ready for back to school (HOW DID THAT HAPPEN SO FAST!)
Olympic week was very fun, so fun in fact that I decided to watch one more! Mostly based on a lot of comments here saying how much you think I would enjoy Eddie the Eagle! I will also be watching the first few TNG S6 epi's and GODZILLA OG. Godzilla will be up next Tuesday though as we are travelling back this week and getting caught up. The following week will still have 3 uploads in addition to Godzilla.
Thanks for all the suggestions of polls in the comments last week, I'll put a new one up this week!
The EXTRA BUTTER LIVE will be this Tuesday 7/30 in the evening.
As I have been catching up with lots of people here lately, I have been talking lots of movies and answering lots of questions about the channel and how everything has been going. It doesn't wear off or get old, how lucky I feel to do this and have this community. Thanks for being the pop to my corn!

Yeah cos the picture used is the Raymond Burr version..

2024-07-29 18:35:09 +0000 UTCReading Popcorn Requests is a habit of mine also, and sometimes the injustice of it gets to me (as shown in yesterday's posts). I really don't care that much about her watching Eddie the Eagle, like I said she can do whatever makes her happy. Battleship however, still bugs me. Which leads me to the real problem of Popcorn Requests - the sheer number of films requested. There are so many films in the list that any film added at this point has little chance of being noticed as, let's face it, most people probably don't read through the list anywhere near as much (or as far down anyway) as we do. Possible solutions - a separate list for tv series. There are a large number of series in the list that just take up space and I've never once heard of Cassie saying "let's go to Popcorn Requests to pick a series" so a separate list for series would benefit both movies and series. Also on a more minor note - there are several films on the list that Cassie has vowed never to watch (Exorcist, Human Centipede, etc.) that should be removed as a waste of space. Sorry for the long post, I might post a modified version of this on the F. A.Q. post.

2024-07-28 11:41:48 +0000 UTCGojira (1954), I believe (based on other comments). Don't put too much stock in the pictures used. They are often just the best looking one found, not necessarily the one for the exact movie being watched.

2024-07-28 10:31:20 +0000 UTCWhich Godzilla is being watched? The thumbnail looks like one of the oldy time ones, but the only "King of the Monsters" subtitle I can think of is one of the recent/modern ones?

2024-07-28 05:59:25 +0000 UTCHehehe reading Popcorn request has become a hobby to me 🤣🤣🫣🫣 I'm also fine with Eddie the Eagle. The poll was about the Olympics. But on the hand, it came in fourth place. The non-english poll, only the first one got watched (Das boot) I think Cassie promised to watch the second one in that poll (The girl with....) 🤔🤔 Battleship is an OK movie imo, but not so "reaction worthy". It's dumb and silly, but quite entertaining 🙂

2024-07-27 22:19:31 +0000 UTCAgreed Richard. I think those same vocal people got The Rogue Cut watched as well. People are always going to clamour for what they love or hate, and indifferent people will say nothing. For the record I’m cool with her watching Eddie the Eagle.

2024-07-27 20:44:45 +0000 UTCPlus we really need to get some of that Echinacea money over to her.

2024-07-27 17:55:42 +0000 UTCDon't read through the Popcorn Request list - it will just annoy you.
Richard Maurer
2024-07-27 15:50:29 +0000 UTCAnd another thing - Eddie the Eagle only has 11 votes on Popcorn Requests. I know Cassie can decide to watch what she wants, no problem with that. It's just annoying that a film with so few votes gets to jump the line just because a few vocal people tell her she'll "love it".
Richard Maurer
2024-07-27 15:48:48 +0000 UTCAs long as we're talking about Popcorn Requests and movies that deserve to be higher on the list, I'd like to mention that there are movies on there that I can't believe are as high on the list as they are. The one I noticed today is the 2012 movie Battleship (based on the board game) which somehow has 16 votes - which is 16 votes more than it deserves. Seeing Battleship that on the list was definitely a WTF moment.
Richard Maurer
2024-07-27 15:37:08 +0000 UTCShe has reactions to The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. My favorite though is 16 Candles, which she hasn’t reacted to yet. Are you referring to the doc that Andrew McCarthey directed? Yeah, I didn’t realize how much the term “Brat Pack” harmed them until I saw it. I always thought it was a cool term.
Dan M
2024-07-27 13:52:42 +0000 UTCIt's the same with Apocalypto (as you know). I count it as a non-english. Even if like the whole crew behind it is from the US 🙂
Björn Karlsson
2024-07-27 12:00:52 +0000 UTCTPotC is a non English language film, but is still a American film. In other words it was a decision to use non English dialog, rather than it being the native language of the cast and crew. So you could leave it out on a technicality if you wanted.
Richard Maurer
2024-07-27 11:52:39 +0000 UTCI haven't seen anyone suggest it, but it might make Cassie's life a little easier...have a Patreon level that pays for her Uber/Lyft rides...The Good Lord knows she could use a little help with her insurance rates...Cassie, I'm glad you're ok. :)

2024-07-27 11:22:47 +0000 UTCAnother horror October without "Let the right one in" is a failure imo 😐😵💫

2024-07-27 11:03:47 +0000 UTCSome more scary films for that time that I think are somewhat forgotten and underrated, and would be great for commentary: Mr. Brooks-2007, The Uninvited-2009, Red Eye-2005, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle-1992, The Number 23-2007.
Strangelove50
2024-07-27 03:01:01 +0000 UTCThat has been my suggestion for all the great movie reaction channels like this: Devote some future go-arounds to movies that have not been reacted to on any channels yet (that members suggest and vote worthy of commentary) and be the first. Some great ones that I couldn't find reactions to (only brief clips and reviews): Changeling-2008, Bridge of Spies-2015, Nixon (Oliver Stone)-1995, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle-1992, No Way Out-1987, On the Beach-1959.
Strangelove50
2024-07-27 02:55:54 +0000 UTCMovie suggestion that I haven’t seen anyone react to before. “My Favorite Year” starring Peter O’Toole. A sort of coming of age story about a young television comedy writer in the era of live TV in the 1950’s. It’s also a redemption story of a former film screen star who has lost his way.

2024-07-27 00:37:30 +0000 UTC@Rene - I like all your picks - except - all the Chucky movies? A bridge too far.

2024-07-27 00:36:05 +0000 UTCAs this point I'm for almost anything that moves films out of Popcorn Requests - the same films have been sitting in the same place for what seems like forever.

2024-07-27 00:26:21 +0000 UTCThe Craft would be perfect. Scary and themed but not too scary. The Descent would make for a good reaction, I bet. Hills might scar her.

2024-07-26 21:02:11 +0000 UTCI like the idea of a "Popcorn request week". One week = three movies. First movie will be the highest ranked. It's atm almost nine movies with a score at 100+. Second movie Cassie chose what she wants from from top 100. The third one is the challenge. Cassie takes the highest ranked non-english from Popcorn request. Top 5 is (I think) Show me love, Let the right one in, Apocalypto, Hero and Your name. The top 5 are almost all between place 200-ish and 310-ish. C'mon Cassie. I know you wanna do this 😉😉😁😁
Björn Karlsson
2024-07-26 20:36:10 +0000 UTCAhhh it doesn't count when there's bleepage, Mike. As far as I can tell, the only genuine, uncensored, Eminem-just-stubbed-his-toe-on-a-cactus outburst from Cassie was in Lord of the Rings. When Bilbo does his sudden, demonic lunge for the ring around Frodo's neck, it is NOT the word "crap" that comes out of Cassie's mouth. She then gets the first letter of an even sharper word out before her cast-iron profanity firewall manages to reassert itself. I think she's rubbing off on me, though. She called some bad guy a "jerkhead" the other day and I developed a blush.

2024-07-26 13:43:20 +0000 UTCWell I was trying to be realistic, but since we're talking fantasies how about a poll starting at 2286 and ending at 2286?

2024-07-26 11:56:59 +0000 UTCHard disagree on the top ten, I think it should be a poll of the movies in the 1500s, starting with the 1530s.
Mike Lemon
2024-07-26 11:49:20 +0000 UTCSince october is coming up 3 months, here's my request: All chucky movies 7 of them, Hellraiser, REC, The Descent, M3GAN, The Hills Have Eyes 2006, The Craft, Funny Games from 1997 (German), The Fly, Videodrome, John Carpenter's Vampires
Rene G.
2024-07-26 11:31:56 +0000 UTCOnce a month Cassie should either do a poll of the top 10 movies on the list or just watch the top movie on the list. Either way would at least clear out some of the movies that have been sitting there forever - and move some movies further down the list UP.
Richard Maurer
2024-07-26 10:22:39 +0000 UTCI agree there are better Eddie Murphy films, Clay (Coming to America is my favourite). In this list I just picked the most iconic and successful films.

2024-07-26 03:04:18 +0000 UTCMORE from the top of Popcorn request!!! It's an amazing tool that you have available 🙂 FYI... The two highest ranked non-english movies are from Sweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Björn Karlsson
2024-07-25 23:50:09 +0000 UTCOne more suggestion and I'll shut up for a few days...The Philadelphia Story (1940) starring Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, and James Stewart. It's b&w but a Hollywood Classic.

2024-07-25 23:15:21 +0000 UTCThe Goodbye Girl, Moon Over Parador and Let It Ride are fun Richard Dreyfuss movies...Creator and My Favorite Year are great Peter O'Toole flicks. Benny & Joon, Don Juan De Marco and Chocolat are great Johnny Depp movies...all date movies that puts a smile on your face...and not to forget the sports movies - Breaking Away, American Flyers (young Kevin Costner), Vision Quest (fantastic soundtrack) and two of the greatest sports movies of the 70's (maybe all time)....Brian's Song and The Bad News Bears. Westerns that hardly no one covers - The Cowboys, McClintock and The Shootist (his last movie) are all John Wayne classics.

2024-07-25 20:06:32 +0000 UTCThanks to Mike LL suggestion I’ve found it on a website called Internet Archive, just Google it.

2024-07-25 18:26:04 +0000 UTCThanks again just looked and found the movie straight away, also quite a big library.
Dean Holt
2024-07-25 18:24:38 +0000 UTCThe Rom-com idea sounds good to me especially after all the heavy movies she has been watching. But it could probably make them all 80s/90s films. As she needs watch Jewel of the Nile as she now seen Romancing the Stone. I’d also recommend Blind Date (with Bruce Willis), Cocktail, Look Who’s Talking, Coming at America, Pretty Woman, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Doc Hollywood, The Secret to my Success & Bird on a Wire just to name a few.
Dean Holt
2024-07-25 18:19:02 +0000 UTCLongest Yard is great fun, but for some reason (Nick Nolte) I've never been a huge fan of 48 hours. The best Eddie Murphy film for Cassie would probably be Coming to America. I think she's watched all the 1990's chick flicks, which presumably means all of Hugh Grant's. I can't find Four Weddings and a Funeral on her Letterbox page, though, so maybe she's missed one? She's definitely seen Pirates, and given the number of unwatched films she gets bombarbed with requests for, it's unlikely she could fit it in the schedule. As for Cary Grant movies, you just need to tell her that Grace Kelly is in To Catch a Thief and the movie will pick itself.
Clarence Newman
2024-07-25 15:57:31 +0000 UTCIf it was a box set of some of the old movies I’d probably have bought it for £30 but it’s a bit much just for one movie. I kinda remember watching some of them as a kid in the 80s and I’ve been thinking about rewatching them for a while.

2024-07-25 12:57:51 +0000 UTCJust had a look around, Dean, and alas, I think £30 on ebay is about it, not counting various short clips on Youtube. The Brits among us might need to take a quick trip to Japan and watch it in a wifi cafe.

2024-07-25 12:54:29 +0000 UTCWe would have to scour the multiverse to find that version of Cassie - the one who never gets sick, swears like a rapper and has a goth sister no one likes. All Deliverance will do to our version is put her off bacon for a month.

2024-07-25 09:40:55 +0000 UTCHi Cassie, Looking forward to the Munich reaction. Will you be reviewing TNG films at some point? Also, have you ever considered reviewing the iconic MGM musicals from Hollywoods golden era? I know you reacted to, "Singin in The Rain" but, there's so many more greats! Might I suggest, "The Band Wagon" with Fred Astaire and, Cyd Charise.
Monte Durbin
2024-07-25 05:30:46 +0000 UTCHey Cassie. I just wanted to share an idea for a poll. I just finished watching your reaction to Can’t Buy Me Love, with a young Patrick Dempsey before he became McDreamy. And I thought, that might be a fun poll…”Megastars Before They Became Megastars”. And here are a few movie ideas to place in that poll: 1. School Ties (Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck) 2. The Outsiders (Ralph Maccio, Patrick Dempsey, Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Diane Lane) 3. Youngblood (Rob Lowe, Patrick Dempsey, Keanu Reeves) 4. Diner (Kevin Bacon, Steve Guttenberg, Mickey Rourke) 5. Sixteen Candles (Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, John Cusack) 6. Chances Are (Robert Downey Jr. ) 7. Love Potion No. 9 (Sandra Bullock)

2024-07-25 05:11:34 +0000 UTCHow strange and amazing it would be if she declared Deliverance as her all time favorite movie.
Chris Thom
2024-07-25 02:00:29 +0000 UTCGreat list of actors, but would've gone with some of their other movies. Longest Yard for Burt and 48 Hours for Eddie - just to name a couple. I've got a better idea - let's let the lady watch some of her favorites - give her a chick flick festival for heaven's sake. Lot's of great rom-coms from almost every decade - from Cary Grant to Hugh Grant. And no Johnny Depp "Cap't Jack" movies on the entire channel? She can't be the only reactor that has watched Pirates of the Caribbean before starting a channel.
crazyivan
2024-07-25 01:31:14 +0000 UTCSolid list. I wonder if there should be some discussion re:Gone With The Wind - not over it’s “appropriateness” (that would likely turn into a political discussion of much heat and little light), but just over the fact that this is one of the biggest films of all time and that it held its place through generations. While in junior high in the 1970’s, it had a long run in New York City (Radio City Music Hall, iirc) and was an event - schools took field trips to see it, everyone talked about it, it held sway in the public consciousness for decades and provoked much discussion with anyone you might run across. It was a shared experience for just about the entire country. Frankly (see what I did there?), I think if Cassie were to watch it, she should first watch the 2-hour PBS documentary “The Making of a Legend: Gone With The Wind” just to get an appreciation for the impact of the book, the high interest in the film being made, as well as the challenges and obstacles that had to be overcome just to release it. Again, I’m not trying to start arguments over pros/cons (it never really held much sway with me, but it was a huge deal for so many others) - more just about how it should be watched or approached to maybe ‘get’ why it was such a big deal for so long. I thought that this documentary was extremely well done in explaining the story behind it all. I’m not sure that there is any other movie that has fallen so far from the perch it once held (imagine the same thing happening to The Godfather - or to the seemingly genetic transfer of knowledge between mothers and daughters of all of the lyrics to ABBA songs) - so something to explain that - before seeing the movie - might be interesting.

2024-07-25 00:14:25 +0000 UTCIt just means overlooked on here, Carol, as in not watched yet by Cassie. I needed some sort of heading is all.

2024-07-24 21:31:47 +0000 UTCThis is a good list, but very few of these can be regarded as "overlooked," I think.

2024-07-24 20:31:00 +0000 UTCInspired by Stick (whose list of suggested movies I can't seem to find now, but it was a good one), I'm going to suggest an "Overlooked Classic" poll. I've tried to keep personal preference out of this and just gone for the major boxes that haven't yet been ticked. I'm not going back earlier than Cassie's been already either, so 1930 is the start. I'm also only going to pick one film per star and limit the overall list to 20 choices (21 in the end - I couldn't bring myself to delete any more). Otherwise the list would be endless: 1933 - King Kong (The original monster movie and still hugely impressive to watch) 1937 - Heidi (Shirley Temple's best-loved movie, and tell me Cassie wouldn't love Shirley) 1939 - Gone With the Wind (Because it's one of the most successful epics of all-time. Gable's performance may be a little dated, but Vivien Leigh is great) 1951 - A Streetcar Named Desire (The film that made Brando a superstar. Vivien Leigh is good too but Brando owns the screen) 1955 - Seven Year Itch (You've gotta have some Marilyn. I watched this one again recently and I'd forgotten how sweet and funny it is) 1956 - The King & I (Yul Brynner at his best, and a film Cassie would surely love) 1965 - The Sons of Katie Elder (There are many great John Wayne movies and this happens to be my favourite, but the solution is probably a John Wayne poll) 1967 - Cool Hand Luke (Paul Newman's most iconic role. Great scene after great scene) 1967 - The Graduate (The film that made the 20 year old Dustin Hoffman a star) 1968 - Bullitt (Steve McQueen's most iconic role, containing the most famous car chase in Hollywood history) 1972 - Deliverance (Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight as city boys who go for a weekend canoe trip into a world of hillbilly hurt) 1973 - Enter The Dragon (Bruce Lee's most famous film) 1975 - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Come on, Cassie. Don't miss out on this brilliant film just because of what he did to you in The Shining!) 1981 - An Officer and a Gentleman (It's obscene a young woman who loves chick-flicks hasn't seen this one. It's NOT a chick-flick... but then again, it kind of is and you all know why) 1984 - Beverly Hills Cop (Eddie Murphy at his absolute peak. Kids today may know and revere him, but you had to be there to know how cool he really was at that age!) 1985 - Police Story (Possibly Jackie Chan's best Hong Kong movie. Great story, extraordinary fight scenes and stunt work, plus the jaw-dropping outtakes at the end) 1986 - The Fly (Sorry Cassie, it's a scary one, but it made Jeff Goldblum a star and you will understand why) 1998 - Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (The forerunner to Snatch - many of the same cast, all of the fun and thrills) 1999 - The Blair Witch Project (It's a must for October, but how do we get her to watch it with "the right preparation". How do we even discuss it on here without dropping a spoiler??) 2001 - Training Day (Denzel at his best. Actually, no. Denzel, like Tom Hanks, just needs to turn up to be at his best, but this is one of his greatest films) 2022 - The Whale (Brendan Fraser in a role that's as far from Rick O'Connell as it could possibly be) That's it. I've got loads more on my list, of course, but then again, we all have. These are the ones I think are the biggest overlooks.
Clarence Newman
2024-07-24 20:30:03 +0000 UTC@Doug Fisher: Not surprised that you ignorantly lumped FOX Studios’ X-Men and Deadpool movies in with the MCU, normy. Fact: They’re not the same thing. There’s this little thing called TIME, which makes fools of us all, but you in particular in this instance. All of FOX’s superhero films were separate from the MCU until Disney purchased 20th Century FOX Studio’s library of content, which included the X-Men and Deadpool movies and their movie rights. Deadpool & Wolverine will be the first MCU movie to feature the characters Deadpool and Wolverine. To put it in terms you might understand, sports fan, before the American League and National League cooperated under Major League Baseball, they were separate. Same sport (i.e. genre) but different leagues (i.e. movie studio) UNDERSTAND, normy? 🧐

2024-07-24 20:22:54 +0000 UTCLove how you, Bryan, strawman to make yourself feel better. If you had any kind of reading comprehension skills you would understand that "keep a balance program" means I know she has always KEPT a balance program. (In case you are wondering "keep" is the present tense of "kept".) Reminding someone of this fact is not being "triggered" as you put it, just simply evoking her SOP to an individual. It is a comment section, people make comments, get over it. Weird how you got triggered (using your stretched definition of the term) over someone replying to someone else in a comment section. Also, Rod was not just "fanning over her next X-Men reaction", he was suggesting she not do or delay her Olympic reactions to finish off the X-Men series. I didn't even mention the fact that he would have needed to add "X-Men: Apocalypse" to his list of "Deadpool", "Logan", and "Deadpool 2",... maybe even "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" if the girls wanted to complete the X-Men movies in order before watching "Deadpool 3"; which, again, I don't even have an issue with, or an issue at all. Just trying to help someone understand why Cass might not have taken the tack Rod suggested.

2024-07-24 15:58:29 +0000 UTCAgreed, mate, and year by year, she quietly toughens up a bit, so she'll be able to handle The Fly. I think I'm being over-protective right now because she just seems poorly all the time. We're probably overtalking it as you say, but it's all info for Cassie to use, so no bad thing. Important to remember, I think, that there are hundreds of thousands of us on here and Youtube, and we've all begged her to watch one movie or another at some point. She'll never make us all happy in that regard, but she sure does try.

2024-07-24 15:48:25 +0000 UTCYikes, Shehab. Casino? I know she likes baseball, but....

2024-07-24 15:38:25 +0000 UTCSorry to hear about the accident, maybe you get yourself a bumper car... Adding "Eddie the Eagle" to the list of Olympic movies as an all-so-ran is a remarkably on point thing to do based on its story.

2024-07-24 14:32:18 +0000 UTCGreat list! I don't know what I would delete but I would add LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA.

2024-07-24 14:08:20 +0000 UTC@Clarence I get all that. I just think it can get a bit excessive in terms of how much you stretch things. Especially when movies lose by 100-200 votes. Again, it’s not a huge issue but I think it’s worth pointing out, and clearly 6 people agree. I was encouraged by last October because the year before that was very soft. So hopefully we can keep pushing the envelope each year.
Shehab Dawoud
2024-07-24 13:16:15 +0000 UTCI think the main difference with these two poll "losers", Shehab, is that one naturally attracts her and the other doesn't. Cassie is more likely to stretch a poll and scoop in films that we're saying will delight her than do the same thing for a horror movie that will have her bouncing all over the bed. I'm with you entirely on The Fly (1986 version, not the 1958 one) - it's a truly GREAT horror movie, and possibly Jeff Goldblum's best work, and therefore a box she needs to eventually tick. It's definitely an October movie, though, and sometimes Cassie seems happy just to have made it out of that month with her soul intact. Come the October poll, I'm going to be giving The Fly some love too.....unless of course, Cassie is all poorly and injured at the time, in which case I'm voting for a Scooby Doo-fest. Disclaimer for Cassie: The premise of The Fly is somewhat ridiculous and could not happen that way, so I don't think it will give you nightmares. But you WILL need to buckle up.
Clarence Newman
2024-07-24 12:56:19 +0000 UTC@Richard I mean, it barely lost. We’re talking about one vote! The fact that it didn’t get a reaction is the problem but hopefully it will this October.
Shehab Dawoud
2024-07-24 12:39:14 +0000 UTC@Mark I agree with that. But I also think she’d like ‘A Bronx Tale’ as it’s not a full-on gangster movie and has many universal themes. Pacino and ‘Scarface’ is where I have to disagree with you. That to me was where Pacino started to turn into the loud overactor he eventually became, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. But personally I prefer the subtle, sophisticated Pacino from the 70s.
Shehab Dawoud
2024-07-24 12:37:52 +0000 UTCCarlito’s way is a fantastic movie and I think Cassie might actually like that one , as it does have a love story. Scarface for me has one of the finest acting performances ever from Pacino.
Mark White
2024-07-24 12:26:27 +0000 UTCI have to admit that bothered me also. Especially with The Fly losing to a inferior movie like Arachnophobia.

2024-07-24 11:38:31 +0000 UTCLooks like another great line up, anyone know where I can watch the Godzilla film in the U.K. as it’s not on any of the streaming platforms and I don’t really want to spend £20 to £30 on just one dvd lol. 2024-07-24 10:04:11 +0000 UTCOhhhh he's Canadian. That makes sense. Fingers crossed for at least one claws-out ski-jump-helicopter -take-down scene. But judging from the windbreaker in the poster that might not happen.
Chris Thom
2024-07-24 09:25:12 +0000 UTCI'm going to answer that without giving spoilers. You're right, it's Wolverine, but in this he's not. He may not even be Australian or an X-Man, I can neither confirm nor deny. Eddie is definitely from the UK, and technically he's a long jumper, but not really. There is snow, and spandex, and a big grin across Cassie's face from start to finish. He might win gold, but maybe not, although someone will. The rest is detail. As long as it makes our Canadian bed bunny happy, what does it matter?
Clarence Newman
2024-07-24 08:50:56 +0000 UTCIt would actually be towards the bottom or maybe the middle of my list. The ones I'd prefer are 'A Bronx Tale' and 'Casino!'
Shehab Dawoud
2024-07-24 08:24:42 +0000 UTCYou are correct, not everyone is an Olympics fan... hence the BALANCED program approach. Just like everyone are not Star Trek fans, Star Wars fans, War movie fans, Romantic Comedy fans, Fantasy fans,..., etc.. How is this a hard concept?! Actually, they are a part of the MCU, since "MCU" stands for "Marvel Cinematic Universe". X-Men and Deadpool are Marvel IPs, therefore their cinematic adaptations fit the MCU definition. They might not be part of Numb-Nuts Phases but that is irrelevant. Besides, do you really think your average Normy thinks differently?! That poll would be meaningless as most polls are. The fact is you would not get 100% voting one way or the other, which is the point.

2024-07-23 23:15:17 +0000 UTCAs for ideas for polls: I’d like to see a return to the Mafia/gangster world. I’d naturally suggest to finish The Godfather trilogy, regardless of what people think of the third one, and believe me, I agree with y’all xD. But I feel like it would only be right to wrap up Michael’s storyline and arc. But other than that, there are a lot of good ones left: ‘Scarface’, ‘Once Upon A Time In America’, ‘Prizzi’s Honor’, ‘Carlito’s way’, ‘A Bronx Tale’, ‘Casino’, ‘Donnie Brasco’, ‘The Irishman’. I’m sure I left one or two out. I know they’re not always the most easy for you to watch, but I feel like you’ve always appreciated them in one way or the other.

2024-07-23 22:39:50 +0000 UTCThe minor auto accident (like you said, that's what insurance is for) and the food poisoning are unfortunate. Hang in there. I have been concerned about eating the refrigerated/frozen food I salvaged during the beginning portion of my 6-day loss of electricity due to Hurricane Beryl. So far so good. I googled Poutine. Looks good. I noticed Poutine emerged in Quebec in the late 1950s. Montreal and Quebec City are high on my list of N. American cities to visit. As for poll ideas, I like polls having Oscar Best Picture Winners (and optionally Best Picture nominees). Also, a Clint Eastwood poll would be nice. Six candidates: *THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES (1976) (western) *ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ (1979) (Danny Glover's first movie) --"Pale Rider" (1985) [western] --"High Plains Drifter" (1973) [western] --"A Perfect World" (1993) ("Clint Eastwood's haunting, ambiguous crime drama is smart and gritty, and features a bravura performance from KEVIN COSTNER") --"Million Dollar Baby" (2004) [won 4 Oscars]. Also stars Hilary Swank who is stunning This might be blasphemous, but I like the three westerns above better than the spaghetti westerns (e.g., the classic "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" you reacted to) -- though I do appreciate that work.

2024-07-23 21:56:00 +0000 UTCI hope Cassie feels better. I know the Olympics are starting this Friday, but I'm surprised Cassie went with the Olympics this week instead of trying to finish up the X-Men movies and get to Deadpool, Logan, and Deadpool 2, because Deadpool & Wolverine is releasing this Friday, and it's supposed to be HUGE! It could be this year's Barbie -- at the very least it's tracking to be the highest-grossing R-rated film ever! I bought my tickets more than a month ago to see the movie on 3 different days with friends and family. I know it's been a while, but it would be great if Cassie could organize a theatre reaction for Deadpool & Wolverine, because I predict the movie will warrant being watched in the theatre -- also capitalize on the hype train!

Also, maybe fries with gravy next time instead of the Poutine? Yikes! Glad that the overall trip was great and you and your kids got to see your family and extended family! Thanks as always!

2024-07-23 19:54:00 +0000 UTCI echo everyone else’s sentiment that the original ‘54 Japanese cut is the better place to go than the sliced up, stick Raymond Burr in ‘56 recut, but happy to have you get your feet wet with Godzilla. I recommend skipping straight to Godzilla Minus One as your second Godzilla movie. It is, aside from the original Japanese film, the best Godzilla movie made to date.

2024-07-23 19:51:11 +0000 UTCA grand total of FIVE Olympic movies, 4 of them from the same poll, two of them weren’t even close to winning. That seems a bit excessive, I can’t lie. Especially when I remember back to last October when ‘The Fly’ lost by one (?) vote to Arachnophobia and didn’t get a reaction.. I think things at times are a little bit arbitrary and not consistent enough in terms of polls, how many movies from a poll will get watched, executive decisions on certain movies, etc. Some would call it nitpicking, and maybe it’s just me and my OCD, and being used to and liking certain specific routines. But felt like it was a valid point to mention. Anyway, glad to hear you’ve had fun despite the few bumps and wishing you guys a safe journey home🙏🏻

2024-07-23 19:50:49 +0000 UTCWow, Cassie. What a whirlwind you've been in! So glad to hear you are safe from the wreck. Praying all comes together well in getting that settled. I'll be looking forward to your TNG and Olympic reactions. As well as others coming. I loved seeing your Miracle reaction with Carly. You two just make the best reaction duo because you thrive off one another. Praying for safe travels home for you and your family. Happy your time away has been so refreshing! 🥰💚

2024-07-23 19:48:32 +0000 UTCI just need to say, Cassie, I've been a patreon since January and watched dozens and dozens of films already. Each and every one has been a delight, and I've enjoyed watching the entirity with you. You and Carly have both been an absolute joy to spend time with. Thank you for being you and thank you for never an hour wasted. I'm looking forward as always to EVERY 'Upcoming'. Yours with love, Brett. x

2024-07-23 19:48:28 +0000 UTCSorry about your Mommy GT40 getting “crashed”. (Even small little “deals” can be such emotional downers.) BTW: I did vote that you Maverick Callsign should be “CRASH”. (Sorry, was that too soon to be nudgingly amusing?)

2024-07-23 19:47:32 +0000 UTCI’m glad everyone is all right from your motor vehicle collision. I would recommend even though you don’t feel injured. Have your doctor or nurse practitioner check everyone to make sure. Because of your chronic neck problems you should also have an examination with your Chiropractor.

2024-07-23 19:46:21 +0000 UTCI absolutely can't wait for Godzilla. My wife and I are doing a summer mega- marathon of all the Toho pictures Kaiju movies. We're watching Mothra vs Godzilla right this second. So fun. Really hope you watch Gojira '54 and not the '56 version, but I'll take what I can get. Super stoked for Minus One.

2024-07-23 19:45:16 +0000 UTCI hate to be negative; but Team USA Women’s Basketball excluding CC is not a good look. I actually have started watching the WNBA and then they do this. UGH, sorry for venting, but…

2024-07-23 19:44:20 +0000 UTCYou are watching the American version of Godzilla, which leaves out much of the emotional aspect and subtext that makes the original Godzilla great. While I like Raymond Burr, famous for his role l as Perry Mason, as an actor. It is inferior to the original Japanese version.

2024-07-23 19:44:07 +0000 UTCPlease get to Godzilla Minus One ASAP

2024-07-23 19:41:26 +0000 UTCBest wishes and hope things get better soon! Just curious - you're watching the original 1954 Japanese Godzilla and not the 1956 US remake, correct?
