I don't know about TNG specifically, but the sync problem is usually a PAL (European) vs NTSC (North American and Japan) thing. It happens quite a bit.

2024-07-04 15:23:34 +0000 UTCInner Light to me is one of the best episodes. When I saw it, I was in my teens, and it made me think what is your life? I think it is the number 1 emotional episode. And I'm sure someone mentioned that the son was played by Patrick Stewart's son. Imagine watching Cause and Effect and everytime the Enterprise is destroyed instead of jumping back in you had to wait for a commercial break. The intro was worse as you had the credits and a commercial to agonize what happened, and no internet to discuss things.
