Ok here is the REAL update. Sorry if I got anyone hopes up about the little April Fools Update Post but those are all on my NADA list haha.
I really do hope you had a good Easter though, we hosted a neighborhood get together when the weather turned bad and then family for dinner after. I don't think I left the kitchen all day but I made some of my favorite desserts and they were delicious. I was a little homesick so my Aunt Bonnie's carrot cake helped! To have April Fools Day the day after Easter is just cruel to moms, I only have so much "magic" in me to give!
My cousin texted me "ummm.....did you mean to post that on instagram" and I went into pure PANIC for 2 minutes until I realized April fools, so feel free to pass that along today ;) I put some googly eyes on our family pictures hanging up, some melted chocolate on the toilet seat and some tape on our faucet and that's about all I had in me. ps-forgot about the taped faucet and soaked myself, cool cool cool.
I am playing catch up this week! Sorry again about the lighter uploads last week, that neck thing really KINKED my plans! Good thing we are still having fun with the MOVIE MADNESS so White Men can't Jump still feels very appropro. Carly and I are also going to watch Steel Magnolias and even seeing the cover image here makes me so excited. Also Young Guns won a poll on a LIVE in December and totally forgot. So before I watch Stargate, our most recent LIVE POLL winner, I need to catch up! Don't forget to go vote in the two Star Trek TNG season 3 polls too, the final one will be Wednesday.
Also coming in April-Tin Cup, starting X-Men, Movie Madness winner(s) and more!! Speaking of Movie Madness, we have our FINAL FOUR. You can see the whole bracket on the pinned post on the home page here on Patreon. We have Uconn/Mr. Holland's Opus vs Alabama/Smokey and the Bandit AND North Carolina State/War of the Worlds vs Purdue Apocalypse Now. How can you not root for NCS (they are an 11 seed)!!!
Thank you all for just being the best there is <3

Cassie please take care of yourself first, although I enjoy your channel and content, I wouldn’t want it to come at the cost of your health. I want to ask, which War of the Worlds are you considering watching? The 1950s version or the one with your buddy Tom Cruise.

2024-04-05 18:39:48 +0000 UTCAnother "musical" Richard Dreyfuss movie is The Competition (1980). ("One of the most famous four-hand passages in 18th Century music." :-) ) Trivia: 1. Mr. Holland's Opus shares an actress with Steel Magnolias. 2. Of Movie Madness relevance, Dreyfuss's last movie is Sweetwater. (It might even meet the approval of our newest troll.*) [ADDED: This is not directed at Brad and his excellent comment.]

2024-04-03 22:08:47 +0000 UTCI LOVE Mr. Holland’s Opus - Richard Dreyfuss (of “Jaws” and “American Graffiti” fame) is a marvelous and intuitive actor. He is also very funny and his film roles shine! 👍🏻 He was also in another Steven Spielberg film, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Other wonderful movies with him are “The Goodbye Girl,” “Poseidon” (a decent remake of the 1972 disaster genre film, “The Poseidon Adventure”), among others. - - - “Mr. Holland‘s Opus” (also starring Olympia Dukakis, Glenne Headly, Jay Thomas, William H. Macy, Alicia Witt, Terrence Howard and Damon Whitaker/brother of Forest Whitaker), is a tour de force! I am a former retired special ed teacher, and it touches me in a special way I think his other best movie is the groundbreaking film with a lot of good actors (“American Graffiti”) … and is directed by the “Star Wars” enterprise mogul/Director, George Lucas!

2024-04-03 19:31:56 +0000 UTCDifficult week. White Men Can't Jump is streaming on HBO (Max), but the other two aren't streaming on any of the places I subscribe. Young guns is on Amazon Prime but only with ads which makes syncing a nightmare. And of the nearly 1000 movies I own, neither Steel Magnolias nor Young Guns is among them. Upcoming movies won't be a problem though. Tin Cup, X-Men, and (hopefully) Mr. Holland's Opus are all in my collection.
