ST:TNG: SEASON 1 POLL 1
Added 2024-02-26 17:09:41 +0000 UTCSo I have gone back and forth about how to pick and watch episodes for Star Trek TNG. So many of you have sent me your top recommended episodes, but the lists differ and I want to give everyone a chance for input. Plus I have decided to dedicate some more time and episodes to each season.
Since I am enjoying the series so much and I know a lot of you do to. I think I will watch 4 episodes from each season!
This first season we will try the poll option like this!
Poll 1-episodes 1-13
Poll 2-episodes 14-26
You can vote more than once on each poll and i'll watch the top 2 from each poll for 4 total.
If this method doesn't work well we can try something different for the next seasons too. I would love your input.
For those of you who do not like ST, don't worry there will still be two other reactions every week of something different!

I can't wait to get to later seasons, so we we rewatch episodes like Darmok, The Inner Light, Best of Both Worlds, and a few others. Season 1 is okay-ish, but some later episodes are absolutely superb.

(Though I really don't care about missing season 1 episodes as much as other seasons, since Season 1 is pretty rough.) I'll have to consult an episode guide to refamiliarize myself with the plotlines of various episodes.

2024-02-26 20:08:38 +0000 UTCI did vote for Hide and "Q" as one of my four...there is a lot of nostalgia for any episode Q-related. And Cassie won't get that, until after she's watched Far Point and other Q-Centric episodes. In my opinion Hide and "Q" is the weakest of all the fun Q-Centric episodes. If it didn't make the cut, I wouldn't be disappointed. Cassie will be able to immerse herself in the milieu with is Q; in so many other episodes, which I am sure will make the cut when she looks at other years. Cassie will also discover there are plenty of good two-part episodes. Specific years ending in a cliff hanger and resolved as the first episode of the next year.

2024-02-26 20:06:25 +0000 UTCI agree you need to watch the first 2 of season 1 but know that the characters were more fleshed out and evolve away from the initial presentation in the first two episodes. Picard is the biggest example of a character that under goes changes throughout the first couple seasons. I remember thinking when I first saw these episodes “well he’s no Kirk, that’s for sure.” He came off as unsure and weak to me but that does change over time. I grew to like him as the captain.

2024-02-26 20:02:49 +0000 UTCThis is great! I think you should just watch the top 4 overall each season, and if there is a close tie, just watch them both.

2024-02-26 19:52:17 +0000 UTCCassie, If I had to ask for one change, and one change only....it is to for you to watch SIX episodes for Season 5, which is universally lauded as TNG's best season. There are legitimately 12 episodes that are fairly good that season: "Redemption Pt 2", "Unification", "Darmok", "First Duty", "Qpid", "I, Borg", "Conundrum", "Ethics", "The Inner Light", "Cause & Effect", "The Perfect Mate", "Time's Arrow"
