Added 2024-02-17 21:26:52 +0000 UTC
Hey guys! We will be hosting The 3rd Annual POPpies on March 2ND, 2PM MST. If you've never experienced them before, you're missing out! We'll have fun activities, special cameos and much more as we look back on the movies we watched in 2023.
We need your help in choosing your favorites from the last year! Please make sure to use the link below to vote for your favorite reactions in each category. We've provided the links to the reactions on the form if you need a refresher. You don't need to sign up or provide any information to vote. Let me know your experience!
As always, thank you SO MUCH for supporting the channel, it means the world to me. You guys are the best!
I had to repost because I forgot to include the video! You DO NOT have to fill our the form again. I'll keep the other post up so I can read the comments though! Thanks @its_me_dave!
Thank you for the Poppies great show, that was so cool that you had other reactors on!
I second Battlestar Galactica (2003) at least the mini-series.
Why? the great character development, mainly Gaius Baltar & Number Six, (Tricia Helfer) her best role personally my fav! Even the re-casting of 'Starbuck' quickly won me over! Love stories all over too :)
Warning if you watch the mini-series, you will want more!

Just a video off YouTube that has many clips from musicals dancing to uptown funk. Great showcase for these talents. Hope you will recognize some of the scenes.

One older one she may like is John Ford’s FORT APACHE. It transcended stereotypes for its time and treats the Apaches and other tribes as much more than cut-outs. It also shows the realities and pitfalls of arrogance and assumptions by senior command officers. You could tell Ford had seen war (in his case WWII) up close in this film.

I agree. But I hope she doesn't just watch a scant handful of the "best" episodes. As with everything, the highs of a long-running series are great because we contrast them from the lesser episodes, but also due to our familiarity with the characters.

I don't know if it will catch on, but I love the "Thing" idea! We're sending Ben something to honor his "contribution" to the Jump Scare video.

I think an interesting horror movie for her to react to would Train to Busan. I have never seen it in its entirety, only in reactions, and the end ALWAYS gets me. She will certainly need tissues for that I think. That or The Mist. She would HATE that ending. Both of them she would want to rewrite in her head.

She presented an award last year. While I do like Natalie, I think she would be a bit too much as a co host.

I am sure Ben will lend another hand on the night. His hand presented an award last year, and that is all we see of him. We should call him “Thing” in honour of thing in The Addams family.

I think you’re just summed up the entire horror genre. They’re all rehashes of the same story. But it’s fun finding out how they’re gonna do it.

Next poll for heists you could add Dead Heat on a Merrygoround, there's a surprise in it you'd d love. Main guy in it is James Coburn, the Australian who got to Spain in the Great Escape and the cool professional in the Mag 7.

If you get in the mood for another musical Romcoms, I suggest You were never lovelier with Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth, the ending will make you think back to White Christmas.

If you want to see a movie with everything try checking out Scaramouche 1952 movie with Stewart Granger, Janet Leigh, Eleanor Parker. old but well worth watching.

You really should put Random Harvest on a poll. Better yet just watch it with Carly. One of the most touching romantic movies ever made.

I don't know if subtitles are a turn off for you, but I highly Highly recommend a Korean drama called 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God'. You can find it on VIKI - https://www.viki.com/tv/31706c-guardian-the-lonely-and-great-god#episodes. Both you and your sister will love it.

I just finished watching Dune again. I might watch it again before seeing part 2 next week. I hear great things about part 2. I looking forward to watching your reaction.
From what I hear, I think you're going to have to watch it on the big screen like Part One.
Did you ever finish the book?

Same here. I used to look forward to watching them because they were solely about entertainment and entertaining. Now, there are so many other agendas that take precedence. My wife had on the People’s Choice Awards last night and I could only stomach the first half hour before I had to walk away.

She did not like Scream (1996). I doubt she reacts to the rest of the franchise.
Scream (1996) is creative and arguably groundbreaking in the genre.
Clever satire.
With the way Cassie apparently experiences movies as real-like, the clever satire is not very relevant -- doesn't make the movie enjoyable for her. I saw that [1] in her reaction of Tucker/Dale (though I think she did chuckle at the "cut off his bowling fingers" line, and she liked the "heart" in the movie) and [2] in her reaction, for example, of the early scene of Zombieland w/the fat people getting it.
The Scream franchise is likely ended.

I'm sorry but watching the Scream series, which is basically watching the same movie over and over again, would be a waste of space for the few horror movies that ever get watched on this channel. There are too many good horror films she hasn't seen to waste time on Scream sequels. The same goes for the Conjuring films as well.

Watching Cassie and Carlys Mom and Pop pretend to be them (and their reactions to it) was one of the funniest things from last years Poppies :)

2024-02-18 10:13:54 +0000 UTC
We have a difference of opinion, but that’s ok with this channel. She puts out lots of content so I only watch the reactions I want to watch and so can you. I don’t know if she’ll watch the rest of the Scream franchise, but I hope she does, along with many other sequels to movies she’s watched.

Yeah, but Cassie's reaction to Scream was sub-par. Arachnophobia, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, and It were much better reactions.
Identity was a better reaction and it wasn't even nominated.
Mark Vaderr
2024-02-18 07:07:56 +0000 UTC
He didn't walk in, he was breaking in. Everyone knew after that moment that this would be the odds-on favorite for Best Jump Scare.

That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. I like these movies and I think they’re the right level of horror for Cassie. Scary but not too scary.

I accidentally put my Poppies comment in the wrong section. Sorry! I'll repeat it here. Ben walking in during Arachnophobia was the best jump scare. He should be the guest presenter for that category. Also, can we vote for him for Best Supporting Actor in a Jump Scare?

I hope Scream wins in its category if for no other reason than I simply want Cassie to watch the rest of the franchise. 🙏🏻 She can definitely handle these movies. She barely jumped in the reaction which is why I didn’t vote that as the best jump scare - which was Arachnophobia hands down. 😂

I think it's kind of hilarious that Zombieland is in the scary category 😆
And I would have voted for It for best horror then the jumpscare comp reminded me that she took her earbud/s out multiple times 😡
Dodged that bullet 🫡
And the fact that the best jumpscare didn't actually come from the movie 🤦
