Coming up!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT-The Extra Butter Live had to be moved to FRIDAY 1/26 instead of SAturday 1/27. It will be JANUARY 26th at around 7:30PM

I know everyone says this every year and its so cliche but SHHHHHEEESSSSHHHH January lasts FOR-EV-ERRRR!

I hope you are all having an amazing 7th week of January ;) I've had a bit of an off week, not sick really, just "off". Felt foggy and forgetful and so tired. Like get into bed at 8:30 for the night tired and that is NOT my usual. Feeling a bit more pep in my step today though. I did solve the NYT mini in less than a minute so BOOM! I started back at the gym (another January cliche I know) figuring out final categories and noms for the Poppies, and less than two weeks until our first trip to the East Coast House of the Mouse! To my Florida friends-is it worth it to drive the extra hour to the Gulf side and go to Clearwater Beach rather than Coco Beach?

Sorry distracted again!

This week we have a classic, a computer and a baby oh my!  Don't worry, continuing ST next week! I am pretty excited about all of these. We are going to try another PiB Theatre experience for Tron and my kids are going to be in there with me (not on camera but still watching together) they are SO excited!

For PRESIDENTS WEEK coming up-I think I have nailed down All the Presidents Men and DAVE  but should my third be Lincoln, 13 days, or JFK? Should I poll it?

I whoopsadaisied the Classic Romantic Poll and accidentally put His Girl Friday instead of It happened one Night, I. guess the only fair thing to do is watch IHON regardless. Im not mad about it!

There will be one more romance poll for February too, don't get too excited ;)

POP QUIZ TRIVIA NIGHT 2/1!!

Ok thanks a million for being you!

Cassie

Comments

I'm SO glad you did 'Singing in the Rain'. For more romantic musicals watch 'An American in Paris' (also with Gene Kelly) and 'Gigi'.

Peter Dillard

JFK. Period. :)

Philip Alan

Lincoln. Not even close in a 3-way contest between the modern masterpiece from Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis, and JFK or 13 Days (both good movies, but not even in the same conversation w/Lincoln)

Mike

I love all three of the Big Fat Greek Wedding movies. I even like the tv show My Big Fat Greek Life.

Darreld Studie

Really enjoyed Bobby, thanks for the tip.

AdrianF

JFK is a long but worthwhile movie. Costner is fantastic

LDC7080

Cassie, have you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? That would be awesome for you and Carly.

Robert Nelson

Hey can't wait for Tron Legacy! Also Clearwater resident born and raised and a annual passholder at Disney World. While you can't go wrong with Coco Beach, all of Pinellas County has amazing beaches. Depending on how much you want to play tourist I would change my recommendations. Please let me know if you want more information. You are going to LOVE Disney, even with the issues they've been having its still an amazing place. I used to plan Disney vacations for people (pre covid) so again feel free to reach out if you want any help/inside info :-) I absolutely love your channel and can't wait to see what 2024 brings!

Joel Cagle

Now I'm imagining Jimmy Durante singing Make Someone Happy during Kong v. Godzila fight on Mt. Fuji. Damn it, Richard!!!! Reported!!! LOL. For Hilarity! ETA I did this in my own crude way, its pretty funny.

ContrabandDonut

JFK = good filmmaking but dubious history. I refuse to rewatch.

Clay F

JFK = good filmmaking but dubious history. Thus, avoid.

Clay F

Yes. I've had no luck trying to get on Discord.

Rick Williams

we’ll post it on both!!

Cassie

thank you!! i’ll be getting back to star trek next week!

Cassie

Current Tampa bay resident here & Disney Annual Pass holder, I'd do Coco if you want to go to Cape Canaveral & maybe catch a SpaceX launch while in FL, but otherwise Clearwater beach is MUCH nicer. Also Where did the Star Trek reacts go? 2 more of the classic's left! You also can't go wrong with Lincoln or JKF, both awesome movies!

Wes

"and the link is usually posted" - that is the problem. Not everyone is on Discord, everyone by default is on Patreon.

Mike Lemon

What are you talking about? That's clearly Godzilla on the left, kong on the right.

Richard Maurer

Holiday (1938)

Larry Darrell

Holiday (1938)

Larry Darrell

At some point during the day close to going live, a link will be posted in DIscord (in the "with-butter" chat room) and the link is usually posted as a message in Patreon for all the Butter tier members.

Dave

How will we find the Butter live? I couldn't find the last one.

Rick Williams

Also as a former Tampa Bay resident I have to speak up for Clearwater Beach over Coco Beach.

Neill Shaughness

Finally! Lol

Han

You fixed it 😄

Björn Karlsson

The Majestic

zynjams

I thought the movie raised some interesting questions but several points have, at least in my mind, been debunked. It is a good movie in itself, but as you say. It is hard to know the line between fact and fiction.

Björn Von Knorring

Third should definitely be Lincoln.

YodatheHobbit

If memory serves, Leonard Nimoy directed 'Three Men and a Baby'

Scott Macaulay

I think the problem most people have with JFK. Is that Stone took real life footage and spliced it together with footage that he made. So people that it was real. He allowed these myths to get in the American mind Where nearly 2/3 of Americans thought there was a conspiracy. I even thought that. It wasn't until I saw JFK Beyond Conspiracy. That I was confronted with the truth. That speech that Costner made at the end, the real Jim Garrison never made that speech. He made a cultural hero out of Jim Garrison. I don't think anyone is dismissing the movie. For the most part I agree with what you said. I just think the line between truth and the lie got blurred.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I definitely will once I figure out how to link to patreon!

Han

Hehe... I'm in a simelar situation 😄 But with a swedish movie. You can request "your" movie on popcorn request 🙂

Björn Karlsson

I have been loving these reactions for a while now and finally have the chance to support on Patreon! I wanted to make some suggestions and that got me thinking about the premise. Cassie and her sister had only ever watched romance movies and chick flicks so they want to catch up on all the other stuff they missed. But what about all the romance films and chick flicks from other countries they have missed? And personally I think the Korean romantic drama A Moment to Remember (2004) is hands down one of, if not THE, greatest love story I have ever seen on screen. While Cassie’s only experience with Korean cinema seems to be Parasite (2019), I think A Moment to Remember (2004) would be right up her alley. And I think Carly would love it too!

Han

Definitely 13 days.

Björn Von Knorring

How have I never even heard of this?! Thanks for the tip, just picked it up. It's my favourite era and yet it's completely out of the blue for me.

AdrianF

Bobby is a good one to watch along with it as a companion piece

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I really, r e a l l y, hope you end up with JFK. It's a long'un but it's also just had a nice 4K release for those that care. It's a great pick IMO.

AdrianF

It was a easy guess, the romantic undertones of that film are undeniable.

Richard Maurer

The last time I was at Cocoa Beach, it was disgusting. I don't know if it's been cleaned up in the last 16 years but I did not have a good experience.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Yeah 😆😆

Björn Karlsson

Em: Ah, so that's why they blurred the picture; she was underage! :-P

Happy Hanukkah

John: Nice wholesome Jimmy as a creepy stalker?! :-P

Happy Hanukkah

It's Tracy Lord. No that isn't Jimmy Stewart in the photo.

Mannygogou

You got it. Clear as a bell.

John Liebling

Not Jimmy. Take another look, that's Cary Grant. Most of us believe that's from Philadelphia Story...which means Jimmy is not in that frame but he present somewhere.

John Liebling

The mystery photo is pretty obvious = King Kong vs. Godzilla (1963).

Richard Maurer

And she has to watch Memphis Belle before she starts Masters of the Air IMHO.

Hiraoka Toru

How about Oliver Stone's movie Nixon? Probably a little bit more accurate than JFK.

Hiraoka Toru

oh the question mark... looks like Hepburn. Maybe Jimmy Stewart is in it too. That will be awesome.

Mannygogou

It is definitely worth the drive to go to the Gulf. Much nicer beaches. Whiter sands and crystal clear water.

Timothy Roberts

JFK for sure. Great movie.

Odd Thomas

JFK is not a truthful movie. Even though I love Oliver Stone I think he is a great director. The falsehoods that he told in that movie were horrendous.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I absolutely love Cary Grant movies. He would have been my guy crush had I lived back then lol. You really need to do Arsenic and Old Lace sometime. It's one of the best comedies of that era.

Stephen Knueppel

JFK is excellent and 13 Days is also great.

Ricardo Alanis

I'm a little surprised by how many people are dismissing JFK and saying it's not worth watching just because it's not historically accurate. The film is best viewed as a speculative historical fiction, with Stone is working in the genre of the paranoid political thriller, in which there are always shadowy figures at the top hiding the truth. As a piece of filmmaking craft, it's simply astonishing. Stone makes three hours of exposition and informational overload feel extraordinarily propulsive. The persuasive force of his kinetic editing is in the spirit of Eisenstein or Vertov, and I think at the heart of the film - encapsulated in Costner's moving delivery of the climactic speech - there is a sincere appeal for more openness from the government and a real reckoning with the truths of American history. By keeping all records related to the assassination sealed for decades, it was the government that created a vacuum in which such conspiracy theories could thrive.

Henry Graham

The water is also warmer on the Gulf Coast. Cassie would like!

Above Average Dave

Lincoln. In my humble opinion. If we can add to the films based on real life, I'm hoping for Malcolm X as it also coincides with BHM. Please fellas, no discussions about whether BHM should be a thing.

Shehab Dawoud

My personal recommendation for a 3rd Presidents movie is Gene Hackman & Clint Eastwood film, Absolute Power (1997) I would avoid JFK as it contains things which just aren't true

Hail to the King

Its presence in such august company is sure to commend it to Cassie!

Happy Hanukkah

Lincoln is an amazing movie, with equally amazing performances. It shouldn't even be discussed as a "Should I, or Shouldn't I". Plus, not for nothing, but Lincoln is my favorite president! So... REACT to Lincoln! :)

Roger Hagerty

Thirteen Days 👍

G

I amd glad that All the Presidents Men (excellent) and DAVE (good) are top two. *For the third, I would go with Lincoln or 13 Days, not JFK. My ranking of the five mentioned: 1. ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976) all the way. AFI Top 100 movies all time. Highly recommend. Watched a zillion times. Would never win a poll on most reactors' channel. 2. Lincoln (2012) [Spielberg] is my 2nd choice. Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Lincoln. He completely transformed himself into Lincoln. Tommy Lee Jones is good. Watched several times. 3. Thirteen Days (2000) is my 3rd choice. I really like this movie. Watched many times. 4. Dave (1993) is my 4th choice. Hilarious. Can't go wrong with this movie. 5. JFK (1991). I would skip.

Clay F

Thirteen Days gets my vote. It’s very good but I think you’ll also find it very interesting. You’ve seen references to the Cuban Missile Crisis in other movies you’ve watched. This film nicely portrays it, and it stars Kevin Costner.

James UK

Love this trio of Patreon uploads! I can’t wait to see your reactions to this upcoming Patreon lineup. IHON is my favorite rom-com. Awesome that you’re watching it and finally getting an intro to Clark Gable & Claudette Colbert.

Rose

13 days would be a great Cassie reaction. It’s a great movie that I only watched for the first time last year! It’s Tense, Heroic, full of Costner charm…

Biggman83

I was thinking the same thing 🤭

Rose

I think JFK is not a good choice for the 3rd Presidents Week movie, because it does not focus on his presidency, but a (largely fictional) aftermath. Instead, I would recommend THIRTEEN DAYS, which is a great film about the Cuban Missile Crisis, and it shows how JFK handled that. Alternatively, LINCOLN is another excellent option, with a superb performance by DDL. Both movies are more relevant to the theme than JFK and both would be fine choices, that won't be winning any polls otherwise. So, maybe flip a coin? 😄

Gábor Árki

Lincoln is a terrific film, and one I think you’ll really love. JFK is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time, it’s an incredible piece of filmmaking, and I think it would make for an amazing reaction from you … but I don’t know that you’d enjoy it very much. It’s a visceral and intense watch, three plus hours and does NOT let up, and it’s a pretty big bummer. But God, it’s beautiful. I could be wrong, you may very well appreciate it even if you don’t love it.

Brian Harris

Absolutely! And it was the first to win the big 5 Oscars - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Only two other films have done it. Silence of the Lambs & One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

Kat Farlowe

I love the idea of watching IHON anyway. I think you’ll really love it. It is a fabulous rom-com. Colbert and Gable are great in it together and it’s a really smart movie. Even with all the rom coms that have come out since, it still really feels unique, fresh, and special. I would vote for Lincoln out of the three you listed. It’s Spielberg film which means you can’t really go wrong and Daniel Day-Lewis just disappears into the role of Lincoln and is mesmerizing.

Tinkerbell

13 Days is a great movie. I love true stories. That was the year I was born.

Eddie Perkins

13 Days! Great political thriller

Neill Shaughness

I must say that "Tron: Legacy" is such a blast, and a has a great cameo by Daft Punk. The song "End of Line" has been on my playlists since the movie came out. Great song.

Damien beatty

Kat is the best, my favorite horror reactor.

Richard Maurer

Yeah, I'm sure BRINGING UP BABY will happen at some point.

Stick Figure Studios

Even though I think there should be a poll, for me I love "Thirteen Days" such an amazing film, and the perfect casting for JFK and RFK.

Damien beatty

The remarkable thing about IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT is how well it still holds up almost 100 years later.

Stick Figure Studios

Now that we've had two classic romance polls can a Classic Horror poll be far behind? Remember, romance and horror go together like cheese and crackers.

Richard Maurer

Thanks

Katie Jackson

Quick tip. Google cayenne pepper and Vaseline for bruising. I’m constantly bruising myself out in the yard. I’ve tried it and it sped up the healing process.

Dan M

Couldn't be worse than his accent in Robin Hood.

Shawn Kildal

The water is clearer in the Gulf Coast, and the sand is softer. I highly recommend Sanibel Island. Its picture perfect.

Dan M

I agree about January lasting forever, but for me its the entire winter season. I have a serious case of the winter blues…and I definitely don’t have the energy and vitality I usually have during the spring, summer, and fall. BUT…PIB helps to clear those winter doldrums and add some sunshine to those gray and dreary days. And I really should hit the gym again myself. I’m gonna have to go with Lincoln for your 3rd president’s week movie. He’s one of our most important presidents during one of the most important periods in our nation’s history. And you can’t go wrong with Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Field.

Dan M

Hoping you feel better soon and hoping you have a safe and fun trip. For President's Day if you need a 3rd I say poll it. My vote would go for 13 Days as Kennedy was the man. I saw Lincoln in theaters and found it to be disappointing but I also think my 18 yr old self went into the theater thinking it was gonna be a different kind of movie.

My_Cousin_Mose

Other great musicals not associated with Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire. Well, any Rogers and Hammerstein production would work: 1. Oklahoma 2. Carousel 3. South Pacific 4. Sound of Music 5. State Fair (first one not the other reincarnations in the 60s) 6. King and I 7. Cinderella 8. Flower Drum Song. Story and music are intertwined, it's the music which continues to weave together more threads of the story and character development.

John Liebling

The best movie for President's Day is obviously Unforgiven, but you've already reacted to it... :-P :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Extremely glad to hear about your two President’s Day picks so far. Both great movies. As for the third - I think you should save 13 Days for a deep dive into nuclear war movies similar to your Vietnam series. (Other films in that series would include Dr. Strangelove, Fail/Safe, War Games, and Testament.) No on JFK. Even though Lincoln is the one film in this group I haven’t seen I feel like that is the one to see for President’s Day. It’d balance things out to see something about an older era.

jdj830

Looking at the blurry Classic Romantic Poll winner...is that a screen shot from Philadelphia Story? Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn...

John Liebling

Lincoln!

DAVID COSTELLO

You got no problem here. I have always wanted you to see the first Hollywood rom co IHON.. Just remember that it was made in 1934 - and the charm still holds up, mainly due to Clark Gable. Can't wait to see your reaction.

Kat Farlowe

IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT or even THE HURRICANE would be perfect Norman Jewison movies for Black History Month.

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, DAVE is totally a Carly movie.

Stick Figure Studios

I would love a Lincoln watchalong, but opinion seems diverse enough that a poll might be simplest.

Alex Ch

Thirteen Days just for Kevin Costner's abysmal attempt at a Boston accent 😭

David Murray

Before you watch All The President's Men and Dave...Give yourself and Carly a good acting treat. First watch Raymond Massey in the 1940 Abe Lincoln from Illinois and after that watch Lincoln staring Daniel Day Lewis. The 1940 movie will give you enough background, so you'll better appreciate the Daniel Day Lewis movie.

John Liebling

President Logan in 24 gets my vote. RIP Gregory Itzin.

Grad

For President's Week, my vote is definitely Thirteen Days. I really like that one, and Cassie I KNOW you like Kevin Costner(still hoping you watch him in Silverado someday!).

Patrick Egan

Thirteen Days would be a good choice, as it revolves around the true story of what the Kennedy Presidency dealt with in 1962 as the world came to the brink of nuclear war.

Mike the Ginger

Really looking forward to your reaction to Dave and I'd recommend you watch it with Carly, think you'd both love it. And I echo the above comments recommending Thirteen Days, think it's a very underrated movie.

Matthew Folz

My vote is for Lincoln.

Rick Williams

Well… you definitely seem comfortable writing these paragraphs. I remember you saying these are difficult for you. Daniel Day Lewis plays Lincoln and you can never go wrong with him. Please add “My Left Foot” to the next true story or drama poll. DDL plays a man with Cerebral Palsy. I’m partial to that one since I have cerebral palsy.

Tara

Dick is a criminally underseen wonder. Both Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams are terrific in it.

sarCC

THIRTEEN DAYS would be a great pick, but the movie JFK would not, as it's not about the President at all(it's about his killing and the conspiracy around it).

sarCC

And apropos the current poll, Jewison directed two classic musicals, both centered around Jews. (Despite his name and Hollywoodness :-) , he himself wasn't Jewish.) To commemorate Jewison and Chaim Topol who both passed away in the last year, I shall nominate Fiddler on the Roof (1971) for a reaction.

Happy Hanukkah

Add me to this list of those that think that JFK is abysmal. It’s a pure flight of fancy. Even if you believe in the (many) conspiracy theories surrounding JFK’s assassination, this movie still is based on absolutely nothing but Oliver Stone’s imagination. It’s also misleading to call it JFK because it has virtually nothing to do with him, just his murder. For something useful and interesting about JFK, watch Thirteen Days.

Just Plain Bob

Note for Tron- pay attention when they tell time-frames, it puts a lot into perspective.

Mike Lemon

Boy the last couple of weeks on PIB have been "can't miss" weeks, and looks like the trend is continuing! I can't complain at all about whichever film wins the romance poll, although it looks like we'll all be needing our umbrellas for it, wink wink. Lincoln gets my vote for President's Week, especially as it is one I haven't seen yet.

Dave

This is honestly the only answer. All three of those movies are too important, and too good to not watch all of them. I realize it won't happen that week, but they should just be put on the shortlist and not even be left to a poll. All are poll winners. Another important movie that should truthfully be highly considered is Gandhi, with Ben Kingsley. The director is the brother of Sir David Attenborough, from the BBC Nature Documentaries, Richard Attenborough. Who you would recognize from Jurassic Park as Dr. Hammond, and as one of the British leaders in The Great Escape

Astraeos

Kevin, not exactly . . . more about the un-making of a President.

Mike LL

Indirectly. It's depicting events that occurred while he was in office, which I think puts it a little closer to the mark than JFK. Anyway, it sounds like that film is already locked in for viewing, so I was just offering an opinion on the three options that Cassie said she still had on the table.

Henry Graham

For Presidents Day, all three of those movies are kind of critically acclaimed and amazing movies. Hard to pick a single one. If I had to, it would truly be a massive toss up between Lincoln and 13 Days. Both highlight, and quite accurately, supremely seminal moments in American and World History. Lincoln also has the just insane performance of Daniel Day Lewis, while 13 Days has more of an ensemble thing going on, but almost equally amazing.

Astraeos

My vote goes to 13 Days for your third President’s week movie. JFK is pure conjecture/fiction and way overrated by those that like it. I haven’t seen Lincoln but have only heard good things, so I’d be interested in that as well.

Just Plain Bob

BRINGING UP BABY's time will come. It will. This is a day to be happy about Cassie watching some musicals (I think it will be two) and about IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT!

Mike LL

Busy busy, but enjoyment for all. Thanks for all you do, and don't forget about The Spy Who Shagged Me. Yea Baby! 🤓

GomezAddams

Thirteen Days is one of my favorites. I think you’ll like it much like you enjoyed Cherynobyl.

Marcos

Lincoln and JFK have more prestige, but I really like 13 days. Very interesting and suspenseful movie about the Cuban missile crisis.

Pickupthepieces76

Is All the President's Men about the president?

Kevin Charley

The Gulf side is always worth the drive (and may be better shells this time of year!). Safe journey and God bless, Cassie!

Above Average Dave

I found out through you. RIP. (97 years old!) He made several excellent movies. Since we're doing another romance poll, I'll nominate his Moonstruck (1987).

Happy Hanukkah

I vote for Lincoln.

TJ

Sounds like a fun week. You and Carly will love "Three Men And A Baby". I am all in on "Lincoln". Fantastic movie. If you watch it you could wear your "Directed By Steven Spielberg" shirt or your "Music By John Williams" shirt, as they would both be appropriate. Yes, January takes forever, but then we get the shortest month and then after that, Spring is here! :)

Mark Vaderr

ISWYDT. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Me, too. Maybe Cassie could be enticed to watch it if we tell her it's like DAVE because I know she's gonna love that. Also, she likes Jimmy Stewart.

Stick Figure Studios

Speaking of Frank Capra, I'm still hoping for Mr Smith Goes to Washington gets some love sometime soon.

Shawn Kildal

Thank God for Whoopsadaisies!!!! (-; And Thank You Too Cassie ;-) In the years to come, We will look back on this date, and say… It Happened One Night.

Larry Darrell

Lincoln would get my vote for sure.

Alex Gorell

Yup. It’s a disservice to JFK’s service and legacy.

Alex Gorell

Love All The President’s Men. I think you should pair it with Dick (1999) an absolute gem of movie that tells the same story from a slightly different perspective.

Jacob King

I hate to bash my own local beaches but Clearwater is objectively nicer 😂

Omar

Maybe look at “In the Heat of the Night” for Black History month, the director Norman Jewison past today, also “Mississippi Burning” an excellent film

Keith Jones

Sounds like it's going to be a great trip. My week's been crappy. My mom's recovering well and that's good but, the vehicle is out of commission for a few days because we have a massive leak in the antifreeze line. We also have frozen/broken pipes, so no water. Then to top it off I fell out of a huge pickup truck trying to get to work and almost broke my tailbone. I have a huge bruise. Hopefully your week's going better than mine. Looking forward to the content coming up to get me through. The lives should be amazing as usual so I'm super excited about those.

Katie Jackson

I figured you would also be happy about IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT getting a viewing.. or were you rooting more for BRINGING UP BABY?

Stick Figure Studios

Either Lincoln or 13 days, despite a few liberties with history 13 days reflexes the tension of the moment. Lincoln is just exceptional

Keith Jones

On the subject of the President's Day movie, I am so pleased that you are watching ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN and DAVE. Two of my favorites. For the third one, I can't decide between LINCOLN and THIRTEEN DAYS, Both are worth seeing.

Stick Figure Studios

3rd should be Lincoln. IIRC, you said last year you would watch it.

Brent Petty

I feel like Lincoln is criminally underrated, where many people have not seen it for some reason. It's easily one of Spielberg's best films in this century, and one of DDL's best acting performances. Plus the cast is absolutely loaded with stars.

Stranger2Reality

I'm sorry ready for Tron Legacy you have no idea.

aarswft

I agree. JFK is one of my all-time favorite films, but the other two would be better for a President's Day viewing.

Stick Figure Studios

I’m with you, this film needs a disclaimer at the beginning

Keith Jones

I couldn't agree more. In many ways the popularity of that film helped mainstream all the crackpot conspiracy nonsense that pervades our society nowadays. I would skip JFK entirely.

Stranger2Reality

I vote for Lincoln.

Kevin Townsend

OMG Clearwater is so much better than Coco Beach! There's so much to do for the kids and the sand is filtered so fine that it's like powdered sugar. Also the the beach is so wide that the restaurants have seating in the sand. Also the sun sets on the West Coast... So there's that lol

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

I agree.

Stick Figure Studios

For the Poppies, I think it'd be awesome if you gave the introduction for best horror movie to "Kat Hates Horror Movies." She's a great channel, is also Canadian, and I know is interested in collabing with other reactors. Side note: for presidents week, JFK (1991) is an exceptional choice! Kevin Costner's best role IMO

Hunter DeRensis

Toss up between LINCOLN and THIRTEEN DAYS.

Ike

Dave is a great choice, definitely a Cassie and Carly movie! My vote would be 13 Days, a lot of tense drama!

Adam Doyle

Cassie: I was in Walt Disney World a month ago (December 7-12). Any questions, let me know.

Matt Rose

I'm happy for you Stick, that she is watching a movie you really love! I'm kinda happy today, myself! I see you are Doubly happy! It is a good day!

Mike LL

You'll love All the President's Men (1976), it has a first-rate cast of Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, Jason Robards in an Oscar winning role as Washington Post Editor-in-Chief Ben Bradlee, and also features two 12 Angry Men (1957) actors, Martin Balsam and Jack Warden as Washington Post deputy editors. (In 12 Angry Men (1957), Balsam portrayed the jury foreman and Warden portrayed the impatient Yankees baseball fan)

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Hopefully, Carly is watching three men and a baby with you. It’s heartwarming just like Crocodile Dundee is.

Michael Lynch

You know that Three Men And a Baby has a Urban Legend attached to it right? Personally I think it was prop of Ted Danson Tom Selleck sets the record straight https://youtu.be/wA600v-U9_k?si=vz4VH5JRuNFELTmI

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Gulf side has actual more pretty, clear water than we do on Cocoa Beach beaches here. Don’t know any more about Gulf side since I never go over there, but our side has great food options as well as our not-as -pretty -as-Gulf side- but still -nice-beaches. And 13 Days has my vote for Pres week. Glad you picked Three Men and Baby, that will be fun 👍🏽

Omar

13 days is an awesome movie, and a riveting retelling of the Cuban missile crisis like event by event, but it suffers because Kevin Costner's character did NOT play such a central role historically as he did in the film. But even so, it's a great movie and I think Cassie would like it. So I'm torn.

Caomhan84

LINCOLN really would be killing two birds with one movie, President's Week and Black History month!!

Mike LL

Lincoln, IMHO, is great. The other two are great also, but... Lincoln is what id vote for!

Jon Johns

I would vote for 13 Days if there was a poll. I remember living through that time. I was only in second grade, but was still aware of the crisis being played out. This was back when we did drills while hiding under our desks to protect us from Nuclear fallout, LOL. As for romantic films going forward, have you ever seen The Way We Were? Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. Ultra romantic and a really good film.

sharkey197

JKF is not about President Kennedy. It’s about a whack job conspiracy theorist and 99.9% fictional. I’m sure I’m the minority on this but there, I said it. JKF is garbage.

Stephen Malloy

In theatre reaction with the kids, hey? Here is how I see that going down😅. https://youtu.be/61iZXRCAL6s?si=nQL9MUsII96uz-KT. JK. Somehow I don’t think links will work unless you copy and paste?

Brian McGovern

Pretty good week! I think the cold wind has been taking-it-out-of-me lately. It’s a bit unusual for my part of Texas (Sugarland). Looks to be a great week! February is running late, but should be here in about 9 days or so. (Maybe).

Ike

I'm so glad you're making Tron Legacy a theater thing! Best way to watch the movie because of the amazing soundtrack and visuals. I saw the IMAX version in theaters 3 times and it was worth every penny! Also to the Florida question: YES! Clearwater Beach is white sand and beautiful warm teal gulf water, whereas Cocoa Beach is brown sand and cold dark greenish ocean water. Clearwater is much better imo, but just watch out for I-4, a notoriously AWFUL Florida highway with insane traffic sometimes.

Yes, All the President's Men is incredible! A film I watch once every year or so. I think it's one of the finest screenplays ever written. Of your three potential viewings - Lincoln, 13 days or JFK - I'd suggest 13 Days, as I think that film is extremely underrated. JFK is an all-time favourite of mine, but it's the least presidential of the three - it's more a raging tempest of crackpot theories and wild paranoia, carried off by a filmmaker at the height of his powers.

I LOVE all the decisions you are making about the Romance polls so far! 😉😉 I'm behind you 1000%. Keep up the GREAT work!! This is going to be a FANTASTIC WEEK, for Babies, Computer Programs, and Musicals!!

Figured that you were going to do the TRON sequel soon. I suspect you will actually like it more than the original. It's almost a foregone conclusion at this point that the winner of the romance poll will be SINGING IN THE RAIN which really isn't a "romantic" movie (although there is a love story), but which I couldn't be happier about. I have been pushing for a reaction to that for a long, long time. It is probably the greatest musical ever to come out of Hollywood and a sheer delight from start to finish. This is going to introduce you to the great Gene Kelly (who not only acts in it as the lead but who co-directed it) one of the greatest dancers ever to grace the silver screen. You will also meet the hilarious Donald O'Connor and see a young Debbie Reynolds, AKA Carrie Fisher's (Princess Leia's) real life mom. You will love it I'm sure and even learn a few things about Hollywood history (namely, how difficult the transition from silent cinema to sound "talkies" was) in a manner that is equally entertaining and educational. I am also overjoyed that you have decided to just watch IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT. That is it's really great movie from the director of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (Frank Capra) that I am also confident you will love. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert are superb together in it. You might even consider watching that one with Carly. Looking forward to the next couple weeks. :-)

Awesome! I can’t wait to watch with you both Star Trek 5 and 6 with the original crew. I absolutely loved ST 6. I think that was a wonderful send off.

All great choices for President's week. I say...watch em all. Every single one is a winner.

you won't go wrong with LINCOLN, 13 DAYS, or JFK, but my vote would be for 13 DAYS. Love it. A personal favorite of mine.

You should definitely watch Lincoln instead of 13 Days or JFK. Lincoln is an amazing film.
