Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner has a fantastic performance by all concerned, but mostly by Spencer Tracy in his last film role shortly before his death. It’s no more dated than any other movie addressing topical issues of its day.

2024-02-18 08:10:29 +0000 UTCBoth of those are tied for second place on my list of favorite Bogart films! First is, obviously, "Casablanca".

2024-02-16 10:51:47 +0000 UTCI did give Cassie's YT reaction a chance, figuring if anyone could make it watchable it would be Cassie. But nope, my cringe meter redlined halfway through and I had to quit.

2024-02-07 05:30:33 +0000 UTCHas it's charms, and some great songs and moments. I was actually in the play years ago. But just saw the new touring musical, and even with a little updating, it simply has not aged well, unfortunately.

2024-02-07 05:28:48 +0000 UTCHow about a Bogart and Bacall film? First choice: To Have And Have Not (Second choice: The Big Sleep.) While recognizing that the former is at least as much a thriller as a romance (and the latter crime noir), Bogart and Bacall are on fire when together! Their chemistry is simply amazing, as well as their suggestive, witty, playful, and sharp banger. Some of the best ever caught on film. Bogie & Bacall with both Cassie & Carly for the Classic Romance win!
Nathan
2024-02-07 05:22:42 +0000 UTCyou should give Singing in the Rain a chance. A real classic film (and not simply a classic musical.)
Nathan
2024-02-07 05:15:23 +0000 UTCGuess whose coming to dinner has an all time great cast but is a drama and is dated. His Girl Friday is a screwball comedy with a great script and a great performance by Russell. It is a type of film that isn't made anymore and is different than anything you have seen before. My Fair Lady has great songs and a really good story. Signing in the Rain is really charming and great singing and dancing. Not much of a plot but you dont miss it.

2024-01-26 20:59:51 +0000 UTCGuess who’s coming to dinner (which I’m guessing is what you mean instead of Look who’s coming to dinner) has the incomparable Katie Hepburn, while My Fair Lady has the exquisite Audrey Hepburn, both of whom are my favourite ladies of then or now, and you can’t go wrong with either of them. His Girl Friday is wonderful as is Singing in the Rain. That being said, Singing in the Rain, for me, is about the dance numbers (Donald O’Connor - what more do you need???) and music rather than the storyline itself. They are what made it a (deservedly so) classic. On other note, since you seem to be interested in classic musicals, can I suggest Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, perhaps one of the best romantic musicals made? And for another great classic film that is a tonne of fun (though not a musical or romance) Auntie Mame with Rosalind Russell. Absolutely brilliant and both are two I’m sure you’ll love.
Callie Stephen
2024-01-25 11:52:22 +0000 UTCYeah. I actually LOVE great musicals(and these are 2 greats), but neither of them are very romantic, definitely not as much as many of the films already eliminated from this poll, much less the couple losing in it.

2024-01-25 07:06:16 +0000 UTCAs you may have deduced, I share your sentiment. Not a fan of musicals. I've tried, but to no avail. I like watching plays/musicals on stage in person, but not musicals on film in a movie.

2024-01-24 23:36:03 +0000 UTCShakespeare’s Two Gentlemen of Verona. Then Much Ado About Nothing. Twelfth Night. About 400 years before It Happened One Night. Most cinephiles will admit that the rom com was from Shakespeare. In the 1920’s, “Sherlock Jr.” and “Girl Shy”. Even Chaplin’s “City Lights” (1931) predates IHON.

2024-01-24 21:54:10 +0000 UTCNeither "My Fair Lady" or "Singing in the Rain" are classic romantic films, honestly . . . Maybe you could do a Classic Musical category. Within that, these two are among the best.
Stephanie Birdsong
2024-01-24 20:42:38 +0000 UTCFor Black History Month if she decides to go that route. There is a plural flicks to choose from Malcolm X, Judas and The Black Messiah, The Black Klansman, Detroit, Hurricane, Possibly The Great Debaters can't remember if she has seen that or not.

2024-01-24 18:11:31 +0000 UTCI tried to watch a reaction to Singing in the Rain but I couldn't even get through that. I actually enjoy the title song out of context, but whenever I try to watch most musicals the moment they break into song is the moment I turn it off. This even includes the Bollywood films.

2024-01-24 00:45:50 +0000 UTCAlso, the Poitier film "In the Heat of the Night". Not a romance but applicable for Black History month.

2024-01-23 22:59:08 +0000 UTCI don't doubt they were in love, but the falling in love happens before the film begins, and it's not really the point of the movie. Their relationship is the catalyst for the parents' shifting attitudes, especially Spencer Tracy's character, and I just think a romance movie should primarily be about people falling in love, or perhaps falling back in love (His Girl Friday is the great "comedy of remarriage" to use Stanley Cavell's term). It's a perfectly decent movie for a Stanley Kramer message picture, but for romance...well, Brief Encounter, Moonstruck, City Lights, The Purple Rose of Cairo, The English Patient, Letter From an Unknown Woman, I Know Where I'm Going! and The Bridges of Madison County are right there off the top of my head. [EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to mention Elaine May's magnificent A New Leaf, despite it inspiring my username and profile pic, but that's a must-watch too!]

2024-01-23 18:53:59 +0000 UTCI agree, this movie is such a major movie in so many ways. Spencer Tracy died shortly after filming. The acting in this movie is so amazing. Plus you think about the time and the subject matter was so significant. Even if you watched the modern day remake "Guess Who", but the original is best

2024-01-23 17:39:43 +0000 UTCI think each of these movies will be great for Cassie... so much that there's no way she should miss any of these all-time classics. I picked 'Guess Who's' for two reasons - 1 Cassie simply MUST LEARN who Tracy and Hepburn were! (and those two are at their best in this film) - and 2 I'd love to see how Cassie will react to the 'PREMISE' of the movie!?! Well if not now, I trust she'll experience this COMPLETELY ALL STAR CAST classic someday!

2024-01-23 17:18:07 +0000 UTCI think you are absolutely right about the three Sidney Poitier films of 1967. I have said so here before, both that they are very important and successful films, that no actor ever had a successful a year as Poitier in 1967, and that I would love to have Cassie watch all three films.
Mike LL
2024-01-23 16:08:32 +0000 UTCSounds like you're saying there is One Line dividing all films in time, and it splits Old & New somewhere in 1968 or 1969. Is this line Constant or will it move higher and higher into the 70s, like how a car becomes an antique 20 years after production? Like say everything older than 50 years prior to present day is now Old and everything less than 50 years prior to present day is still New? Or is there another Line that occurs somewhere else between the 70s and Today? Because I still can't include The Godfather or Jaws in the same era as CGI Heavy Films of today. That may be just me. My definition of an era is just different than yours, then. I say an era is around 20 years at most, which is long enough for someone to be born, grow up, and have a child of their own, and start a new era, or generation if you will. When it comes to Films, each decade could be called an era. The 20s, and everything that came before 1920 could be called an era. There are some minor to major changes from the late 1800s to the late 20s, but I'd say for the purposes on this channel, the 20s and before is one era, and then the 30s begin a new, then the 40s and so on. Now the changes in style and techniques in film from one decade to the next, are for the most part minor. 30s to 40s, 40s to 50s, 50s to 60s and son on. There is your 20 year Eras. Like I said, the changes from one decade to the next are minor, but when you compare the difference in decades from one decade to the decade after the next, 30s to 50s, 40s to 60s, 50s to 70s, then you get into some major changes. Most of the films look completely different in comparison. The voting in polls on here tend to go to the more recent films on the list. My whole reasoning in starting this post, was to try and give the older films a better chance. If it hadn't been for Cassie's Whoopsey, We might not even be getting a 30s or 40s film this time. Like in the Classic Christmas Poll, Scrooge (1970) beat out all the films from the 30s and 40s, by a wide margin. A Christmas Carol (1951) came in 3rd. The Shop Around the Corner (1940) came in 2nd, but that may have been because it had been recommended a bunch and Cassie had said She wanted to watch it. It was also the original version of You've Got Mail, so it was much more widely known than any other 30s and 40s film, which was the remainder of the films on the list, and they all came 7% or more than the 3rd place, which was separated by 2% from 2nd. If getting some narrower margins on the Polls, will increase the chances of 30s and 40s films winning said polls. I'm gonna keep suggesting it... until enough people tell me to stop because I'm being annoying. And even then I’ll think about it. If I’m being annoying, please let me know. I’ve actually enjoyed making these comparisons. By the way, I like to think Cassie did the Whoopsadaisy on purpose. It's a nice thought. ;-)

2024-01-23 06:42:37 +0000 UTCI would include any films from the era I intend to include. And I can think of at least two very reasonable definitions of "Classic Era" that include all the films on Cassie's polls. One is simply to take Classic to mean good movies that are old. Not modern. Still remembered fondly despite being from before our time. That pretty much sums up the colloquial meaning of "classic." And I think this meaning is probably what Cassie intends here. The other would be to more specifically define Classic as meaning the old Hollywood studio era (basically everything mid 20sish up to New Hollywood/Film School Generation in the late 60s), or the Hays Code era (1934-1968). Also a very reasonable and meaningful category of history that includes all the proposed films. I also must point out that the distance in time between two events really has little to do with whether they belong categorized together. To draw my own analogy to geological history - the Tyrannosaurus is separated from Coelophysis by about 140 million years, and from us by only 65. Yet the first two are reasonably grouped together in the Mesozoic Era, while it would be inappropriate to group us with either. Likewise, while His Girl Friday and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner are divided by the same 27 years that divides Singin' in the Rain from Alien... they are NOT divided by the same cataclysmic shifts in the production and aesthetics of film that divide the latter, and thus are reasonably grouped into the same general era while the latter two would not be.

2024-01-23 06:25:00 +0000 UTCAll the more reason to broaden the film palette of everyone. Cassie is truly building a unique site. PIB has a greater variety of films compared to others. Most stay in their lane, all anomie, all horror, all films post 1985's Back To The Future, all MCU or DCU, or a mixture of some comedies. That is why I predict 2024 is going to be a big subscriber and Patreon year for Cassie and a very enjoyable year for the rest of us who enjoy Classic rom-com, musicals, and classic dramas from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. How exciting it would be if later in the year, Cassie watched a variety of classic Twilight Zone episodes. Cassie is doing a great job reacting to many films we suggest, and reacting to other films she's independently interested in. Be it from a poll, or suggestions, or following her heart, we are all grateful for the joy she provides, in these complicated times. As someone who was a kid of 8 when Star Trek first came out, I am enjoying her reaction to all things ST and know she'll enjoy Next Generation TV and film...can't say films...because in my opinion only First Contact is worth her time. I also think it's going to be fun, when her little kids are in HS, looking back at their mom's reactions to so many interesting films.

2024-01-23 06:05:08 +0000 UTCSINGING IN THE RAIN truly is a musical masterpiece and you are right about it being comfort food. My mom likes to tell me the story of the day she was staying home sick from school once when that movie came on the television and for 2 hours she felt perfectly fine. Just completely forgot she was sick. The movie made her better.

2024-01-23 05:35:53 +0000 UTCMore to the point I’m trying to make… if you were making a list of movies for a “Classics” Poll… including any and all genres… and all films on the list being from the same particular “Classic” Era… would you include any of these 2 movies on the same list?
Larry Darrell
2024-01-23 05:35:31 +0000 UTCI really think that Poitier’s 3 movies from 1967. Can you imagine an actor of his stature having the main starring role in 3 major films in the same year these days? Younger people today or those who haven’t studied film have no idea how important and huge he was at the time in the world of film. All 3 from that year really should be watched: “To Sir, with Love,” “Guess Who's Coming to Dinner” and “In the Heat of the Night.” “To Sir…” is is probably the lesser of all 3 but is still excellent and should be watched.

2024-01-23 05:35:17 +0000 UTCGuess Who’s Coming to Dinner really needs to be watched at some point!
REDR58
2024-01-23 05:28:26 +0000 UTCI love all of these movies, but to be perfectly honest "Singing in The Rain" is one of the greatest movies ever made. It is also such a comfort movie with amazing comedy and even better talent. Plus, there is an original song in this that Cassie knows that I think she will be so surprised is in it. I can't remember what movie reaction it was but she was singing part of it. P.S. It is not the title song , but another one. Cannot wait.

2024-01-23 05:23:53 +0000 UTCAgain, I invite you to search YT for reactions to Singin In The Rain. They are there, they stay up, and they are as satisfying to watch as non musical reactions. And again, Cassie has already reacted to three musicals.

2024-01-23 05:22:22 +0000 UTCI really don't see the point of all these comments you're making. I mean, I see the point, I just don't think it's relevant. There are meaningful ways to divide films into eras that are of very different lengths. And - more to the point - there is value in simply taking "classic " to mean "not modern". The point of these polls is not to choose films from a specific era, or all from the same era, but simply to choose films that are not from *Cassie's* era. To explore times before her time. That's all.
Robin T
2024-01-23 05:17:57 +0000 UTCIt isn't fear mongering, and the simple fact is the movie is a musical (a great one) and no YouTube channel can play the music, so the reaction is going to be pretty limited.
Jeff Rogers
2024-01-23 05:08:24 +0000 UTCHis Girl Friday, without a doubt. The chemistry between Grant and Russell is incredible, it's hard to imagine anyone else in their roles. One of the best romantic comedies ever. No two characters ever deserved each other more. It's just perfect.

2024-01-23 05:04:24 +0000 UTCI’m not trying to protect her, I’m just tired of seeing people (with the best intentions) preemptively scaring reactors away from reacting to musicals when it’s already such an uphill battle to get them to give musicals a chance. It’s especially frustrating since it’s fear mongering about something that isn’t even an issue. I know your intentions are good. Apologies if my attempt to clarify the issue came off as rude.

2024-01-23 04:53:19 +0000 UTCFor me My Fair Lady is the superior musical, and one of the very greatest musical masterpieces of all time, but they are both great (in the true sense of the word.) Excited to see you suggest On The Town and American In Paris. If Cassie ends up liking Singin In The Rain, it’s a safe bet she’d also enjoy On The Town, since they both have such a vibrant, joyful, fun energy. Here’s hoping both On The Town and American In Paris make it to the polls one day, though I suspect not enough people here know On The Town for it to make the cut.

2024-01-23 04:50:17 +0000 UTCI am Thrilled beyond I don’t know what, that Cassie is going to watch It Happened One Night. :-) Abso-Freakin-Lutely… Thank You Cass, Thank You. ;-) Now, if you’ll forgive me again, I have some more analogies, if anyone is interested, for future reference, when making any “Classics” Polls. Grouping Films by decades or even only grouping 2 decades together would be more fair in the competition, in my opinion. So to show how far in time, 2 films in the Final “Classics” Poll, really are apart from each other… His Girl Friday (1940) is to Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967) as… Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967) is to Legends of the Fall (1994) Bonnie and Clyde (1967) is to Natural Born Killers (1994) Cool Hand Luke (1967) is to The Shawshank Redemption (1994) You Only Live Twice (1967) is to True Lies (1994) To Sir, With Love (1967) is to Airheads (1994) The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) is to Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) Doctor Dolittle (1967) is to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) Two For the Road (1967) is to Speed (1994) Mary Poppins (1964) is to The Silence of the Lambs (1991) Dr. Strangelove (1964) is to Backdraft (1991) Goldfinger (1964) is to Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) A Fistful of Dollars (1964) is to Boyz n the Hood (1991) My Fair Lady (1964) is to Father of the Bride (1991) Bikini Beach (1964) is to Point Break (1991) A Hard Day’s Night (1964) is to The Commitments (1991) A Shot in the Dark (1964) is to Hot Shots! (1991) Robin and the 7 Hoods (1964) is to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) Singin’ in the Rain (1952) is to Alien (1979) The Quiet Man (1952) is to Rocky II (1979) The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) is to Moonraker (1979) Bend of the River (1952) is to Apocalypse Now (1979) The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) is to Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) Million Dollar Mermaid (1952) is to All That Jazz (1979) Pat and Mike (1952) is to Mad Max (1979) Hans Christian Andersen (1952) is to Caligula (1979)

2024-01-23 03:08:05 +0000 UTCGlad we have to choose. Glad these different types of old movies were lumped into the same polls -- broadly encompassing "classic romance" wide category not being a particular sub-genre. I voted Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner because the latest date and good acting, and I have watched several times, though I much prefer the Poitier film "In the Heat of the Night" (but not a romance). My second choices are IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (not in the poll) and HIS GIRL FRIDAY. I researched those and think I might like them. I am not into musicals, but will likely watch Cassie's reaction to Singing in the Rain (apparent winner of the poll) and will be glad to have that experience. While I have seen snippets and, of course, been exposed to aspects in culture, I have never watched Singing in the Rain. Educational for me to watch an iconic musical from the early 50s. I researched My Fair Lady because I loved Audrey Hepburn (greatest smile in movie history) in Roman Holiday (watched several times). But then I watched The Rain in Spain scene on YouTube and cringed. My distaste for musicals came through. Though I notice My Fair Lady is playing (two showings in the afternoon) at an AMC theater near my house on Feb. 4, and may go watch it and could like it better in the theater. I do go watch off-Broadway stuff on stage at least once or twice a year, and like the singing just fine in person.

2024-01-23 01:59:36 +0000 UTC"Singing In The Rain" for me, - a wonderful entertaining and joyfull movie. "Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner" was my second choice - some great acting in that one, but the first one is so much La-la Land..

2024-01-23 01:12:32 +0000 UTCDid you know there was a sequel to Shoot to Kill… Look Who’s Talking at Dinner, with John Travolta. Oddly enough, this one is actually linked to Look Who’s Coming to Dinner.

2024-01-23 00:50:30 +0000 UTCI prefer the sequel to Look Who’s Coming to Dinner… Look Who’s Talking at Dinner… starring Sidney Poitier, Kirstie Alley and John Travolta And the third in the trilogy, Shoot to Kill (1988)… with Tom Berenger replacing Travolta.

Happy Hanukkah
2024-01-23 00:20:49 +0000 UTCGuess Who's Coming to Dinner (my personal choice) really isn't a classic romance. It's really a serious drama, but definitely a movie you should see. Classic Sidney Poitier (Sneakers). He's done a lot of classic movies worth watching. However, it's a Suspense thriller of his from the 80s that I always found interesting (and chilling). Shoot to Kill

2024-01-23 00:07:12 +0000 UTCI think any of these four movies should be included in a person's bucket list. They are all classic movies. We can debate what category each should be in, but whatever wins I will watch Cassie react with waiting anticipation.
Steph
2024-01-23 00:06:38 +0000 UTCNow that we have a big musical on deck (or maybe two??) I sure would like Cassie to watch more musicals. And since I love classic movies, and since Cassie likes to watch movie series, I had an idea. Maybe after Star Trek, and after Planet of the Apes, Cassie could watch a Classic Movie Series/ And why have a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers Poll, when she should just watch the core series as a Movie Series? I'm talking THE GAY DIVORCEE 1934 TOP HAT 1935 FOLLOW THE FLEET 1936 SWING TIME 1936 SHALL WE DANCE 1937

2024-01-23 00:05:05 +0000 UTCI like the fact that Cassie will finally be watching a Clark Gable movie right after it came apparent she hadn't seen anything he's done during her reaction to the TOS episode The City on the Edge of Forever.

2024-01-22 23:48:41 +0000 UTCIsn’t it just? My dad was a huge classic film buff and this is the kind of stuff he raised me on, for which I’m eternally grateful. But how anyone can watch this and say it’s not romantic with all that gorgeous dialogue (“those two young people need one another like they need the air to breathe”) is just beyond me.
China Andronicus
2024-01-22 23:41:17 +0000 UTCO'Connor is great. Kelly is the better dancer but Donald holds his own and does physical comedy in an absolutely brilliant manner with his iconic number.

2024-01-22 23:37:25 +0000 UTCAlso, ‘his girl Friday’ should not be the winner of any screwball comedy pole. ‘It happened One night’ is the progenitor of all screwball comedies and therefore should be the winner
Thomas Thompson
2024-01-22 23:34:31 +0000 UTCPlease don’t take this personally but I think screwball comedies and musicals should be in their own category and Look Who’s Coming To Dinner is a drama about race relations.

2024-01-22 23:28:33 +0000 UTCI realize I'm going to be repeating myself here with a lot of what I said on the other post, but since it is basically a foregone conclusion at this point that SINGING IN THE RAIN is going to win, I can start celebrating. This is truly one of the great Hollywood classics and probably the single greatest American musical ever made. Gene Kelly is in top form singing, dancing and smiling his way into movie history, Donald O'Connor is hilarious as his good buddy Cosmo and a very young Debbie Reynolds, AKA Carrie Fisher's (Princess Leia's) real-life mom, will steal your heart. It's not really a "romance" movie (though there's a love story), but I don't care. It needs to be seen by any serious lover of great Cinema. As for IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, I was disappointed that you didn't put it on this poll, but if it means you're just going to watch it anyway, I won't complain. It was the first movie ever to sweep all five major categories in the Oscars and it is a timeless classic from the director of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (Frank Capra). Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert have never been better.

2024-01-22 23:18:54 +0000 UTCHi Yal. Just for side notes...Gene Kelly's dancing in Singing In the Rain is amazing! And if you like the great acting of Sidney Poitier, Audrey Hepburn, and Spencer Tracey, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner is one of the best old movies ever made!
Jorge De La Torriente
2024-01-22 23:14:41 +0000 UTCGuess Who’s Coming To Dinner is the best film on this list. Unbelievable performances from an all star cast. Isabel Sanford moves me to tears with her scene alone with Spencer Tracy. Those saying it isn’t a romance are missing so much about the film . It’s definitely more of a romance than either My Fair Lady or Singin’ In The Rain.
China Andronicus
2024-01-22 23:13:25 +0000 UTCIt's virtually impossible to choose between My Fair Lady and Singing in the Rain. Both are equally iconic classics. Had to go with My Fair Lady due to my love affair with Audrey Hepburn. Not getting music rights?? You might as well cut the heart out of these gems. Agree Jeff the dancing. Donald O'Connor. But the music!! "Good mornin'!"
Paul Rich

2024-01-22 23:12:19 +0000 UTCAll good. Also, I think the proper title is Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Loved your First Blood reaction. The other Rambo films are action shoot em ups and not human dramas, though.

2024-01-22 23:11:46 +0000 UTCHappy singing in the Rain is winning. It really is the best musical. The chemistry between Gene Kelley, Donald O’Conner, and Debbie Reynolds is fantastic. My Fair Lady is good, (the music is lovely and the costumes are great) but it is not really a love story, yeah there is a little love story, but I’ve never really felt like it was the point. Plus, it’s kind of hard to watch without constantly thinking of the casting controversy which takes me out of the film. I watch Eliza’s songs with the sound turned off and original Broadway cast recording on. I love Hepburn and she was amazing actress, but Warner never should have cast her and then compounded the problem by having Marni Nixon sing for Hepburn. Jack Warner really did Hepburn and Andrews a disservice. Hepburn got raked over the goals in the press for ‘stealing’ Andrew’s part and Andrew’s kept her Oscar in the attic for years since it seemed like a consolation prize. I always watch Mary Poppins immediately afterwords to remind myself of the beautiful thing that came out Warner’s decision.

2024-01-22 23:09:36 +0000 UTCBoth Singing in the Rain and My Fair Lady are classics and musicals… but Singing in the Rain’s dance routines put in over the top for me…

2024-01-22 22:55:46 +0000 UTCHis Girl Friday is arguably the funniest comedy ever made, and inarguably the fastest. A 190-page screenplay squeezed into a 92-minute film, with the stars spitting razor-sharp dialogue at each other like machine gun fire. A masterpiece that defines screwball. I have no idea what Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is even doing on this poll, it's surely a drama about race more than a romance.

2024-01-22 22:52:58 +0000 UTCI had to go with Singin' in the Rain. As great as Gene Kelly is, it is Donald O'Connor who delivers some of the most brilliant dance moves ever. And the music is great, too.

2024-01-22 22:39:14 +0000 UTCMy Fair Lady is out to a fast first start. Hopefully Singing In The Rain will catch up and pass it. My Fair Lady is very good. But Singing in the Rain is great. It's the difference between Kobe and MJ. One other reason to select Singing In The Rain is for Cassie to try out other musicals staring Gene Kelly. Like "On The Town" and "An American In Paris" If My Fair Lady wins, it will still be a good experience for Cassie and the rest of us. And perhaps other polls to come separating great classic from the 30s, 40s and 50s. It would be so much fun watching Cassie and Carly react to more Jimmy Stewart and for the first time watch Gregory Peck and James Cagney.

2024-01-22 22:33:07 +0000 UTCThe two top ones are both more romantic musicals. I’d have recommended two of the others or one musical and one that isn’t a musical but as musicals, these are also two of the greatest! If you end up watching my fair lady or Singing in the rain, I hope you like them! Have you seen Babylon (2022)? I’d recommend seeing that afterwards. It gives the film some more love.
