1-50 Poll

HHHIIIIII! Go check out the video on the previous post for the drawing of these! I'm excited about any of these! I think I will watch the top 2 winners! Let me know which one's you think Carly will enjoy as well. Next week we will do a 51-100 picks poll!

*ps-you can vote for more than one on this one

Comments

I think you and Carly should react to number 3 Uncle Buck as well, it stars John Candy, one of the greats, and has some real touching parts as well as good laughs, just a thought.

Richard Higgs

Tarantino to me about the worst movie maker of all time. He panders to the lowest common denominator, thinks shock value is actual value, and never understood less is more. If it's not in your face it's not a Tarantino film. I actually think the Dynamic Duo of Cassie and Carly wants more than rewarmed schmaltz.

Ronald Carpenter

Cassie watching Kill Bill would be hilarious. I love the movies, but it might be too much for her, lol. Cassie , just understand that Tarantino (Pul[p Fiction) has a foot fetish and implements gore into his films, effectively , but it’s not for everyone .

Anthony V Petty

Please can we get the kill bill movies up!! Please please pleaaaase!

Jacob

I don't know about choosing movies Cassie can "handle" but I did try to suggest movies I think she'd enjoy as well as genres she has enjoyed in the past. Example #1: For horror / thriller (a genre she sometimes had to pause mid-movie), I picked What Lies Beneath. Scary moments, sure but I do believe she'd enjoy the performance. Example #2: For Fantasy, I suggested Warcraft / Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves because she enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies a while back and those movies very much take inspiration from Tolkien's work.

Mario

Gotta say I'm not a fan of her telling her pick beforehand. I'd rather she just say "you know, I really want to watch Contact, so I'm going to go ahead and put it on the schedule ". For the record, I don't believe Contact won just because Cassie endorsed it. There are obviously a lot fans of the movie who would have voted for it anyway. But I do think her endorsement put it over the top, especially considering the margin it won by.

Richard Maurer

I've been saying that, while Cassie can handle the Kill Bill movies (and others are correct in saying both movies must be watched together... it is one film) I stated that she might not like it given her reaction to Pulp Fiction. After some thought, I believe I might be wrong about that. Pulp Fiction grounded its violence in realism. The interwoven stories were also based in a believably "real" world. Kill Bill has a more heightened magical style that might be more akin to something like 300, which, if I remember correctly, Cassie kind of liked. She still had problems with the gore, of course, and it made her sad (or as she likes to say "hurts her feelings"), but she was really engaged with the story and appreciated the heightened visual style. Kill Bill certainly won't be her favorite film by any means, but I think she will appreciate it.

D. T. Nelson

@Richard Of course that's why it won. Which I'm not against! I actually didn't mind Cassie showing her excitement for it. She couldn't help herself! It's a great movie! (IMO). :)

Philip Alan

@Richard Yes. This. Thank you.

Philip Alan

@Joe who would have thought Cassie would CRY during her reaction of Mad Max Fury Road? Not me. One of my favorite reactions!

Philip Alan

@ Mike Lemon - if Cassie liked every film that won a poll that just means we're making very safe choices. While I get your meaning as to the difference between Full Metal Jacket and We Were Soldiers, I 'm still glad she watched them both. I don't like the idea of anyone judging what films she watches and deciding beforehand which ones are "right" for her. As I've said before, I base my poll picks on the films I like best, and nothing else. I'd rather take a chance on Kill Bill than vote for a movie I hardly care to see a reaction to, like City Slickers, even if there's a much better chance of her liking it. Even if she doesn't like KB that reaction is still more interesting than her gushing over another mid level film.

Richard Maurer

Kill Bill is indeed child's play for Cassie, she has seen many intense and violent movies on the channel. Don't forget she liked "300" and "Mad Max Fury Road", she surprises us all the time. She puts these polls up and lets the votes fall where they will, she's not obligated to watch any content she would be really disturbed by. She will like some and not like others, that's just normal. Cheers!

Joe

Quentin Tarantino, Love Him or Hate Him, is One of the Greatest Writer/Directors of the past 30 years. He has only Written & Directed 9 Major Motion Pictures, solely by himself, since his major debut in 1992 with Reservoir Dogs. All 9 of these films (Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 = One Film), should be watched by Cassie by the end of her Reactor career, or else She will have failed in her Mission, if you can call it that. I don't normally like to be definitive, but on this point, I'll say it shouldn't be debatable. These 9 Films are a Badge of Honor, for any Reactor. (One more will be added to the list later, since Tarantino is working on his 10th and Final Film as we speak.) There are certain collaborations with other directors as well. This is where the debate should be. True Romance (1993), written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott... I feel is a Must Watch. There is only one of these that I wouldn't recommend (didn't say don't watch), and that is Natural Born Killers (1994), directed by Oliver Stone. Tarantino might actually agree too.

Larry Darrell

Cassie hated Scream, but it was still a great reaction. Probably my favourite reaction to that film. And not because she suffered, but because it was intense and emotional.

Future Boy

It isn't that Cassie "can't handle" Kill Bill. (She has handled far worse) It is that she likely wouldn't enjoy it much as the other movies on the list based on her reactions to many of theose previous films you mentioned. Now CARLY wouldn't be able to handle it.

D. T. Nelson

I don't love Dazed and Confused. I don't hate it either, but it's one of my least favorites in this poll, along with City Slickers.

Richard Maurer

"Why do people think she has to like every movie she watches?" That's a bit hyperbolic, but to answer- reactions she "likes" are more fun than the ones she doesn't. For example, two movies that shared similar subject matter- Full Metal Jacket and We Were Soldiers. Both dealt with the horrors of Vietnam, one with a nihilistic tone, one with a more hopeful tone. Everybody knew she was going to hate Full Metal and everybody knew We Were Soldiers was going to be a tear filled, very tough watch, but in the end would be...appreciated. The reaction to Full Metal was tough to watch because she was so troubled during it, Soldiers was "fun" because we could see the hope throughout. That said, there is a difference between her liking a movie and "liking" a movie. Schindler's List is a good example of "liking" a movie but not liking it. To think she has to like every movie is foolish, but wanting her to at least "like" (appreciate) a movie is understandable. I think she would probably appreciate Kill Bill, I don't know if she would like it, but maybe (30ish% chance).

Mike Lemon

No, not at all. I mean, *I* know that Contact doesn't feature Bill Murray, and *you* know that Contact doesn't feature Bill Murray, but you have no idea how stupid some of the people here are! [/joke] But seriously, the only reason I didn't vote for Dazed and Confused is because I, well, confused it with Lost and Delirious. :-|

Happy Hanukkah

No it's because Cassie mentioned she wanted it to win so ya know

Philip G.

Oh trust me Cassie is still a lightweight on violent and disturbing movies. 2003 remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I Spit On Your Grave, Strangeland, Last House on the Left(original and remake), Deliverance, Human Centipede, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Hostel. That's only a handful.

William Bryan

Cassie can handle Kill Bill. We all can see that she doesn't like horror films, yet she watches them on Halloween month. Cassie is more open minded than some of her patrons.

G

Sigh. Yeah you got us, we're all just awful people because we don't think the way you do. Whatever.

Richard Maurer

Why do people think she has to like every movie she watches? This is a reaction channel, not a find-movies-I'll-love-channel. When Cassie started this channel one of her stated goals was to broaden her horizons. That's not going to happen by making safe choices all the time. And yes she's not going to like all those choices, maybe even most of them, but at least she'll have experienced something different.

Richard Maurer

Of course I know many people would ignore it, I'm one of those people. The question is did enough people vote for Contact because Cassie favored it to actually affect the vote? I think the answer is likely yes.

Richard Maurer

She doesn't like them as much though.

Dazman

Yep, her oddly paternalistic Patreon commenters are part of the reason I left her Patreon over a year ago, though I still come back like once every 6 months if there's a movie or show she does that I really want to see her reaction to. That and the fact that she almost never does a movie I'm interested in anymore. Too many old movies, action movies, or 'safe' movies (e.g. simplistic rom-coms or cheesy comedies) for my tastes.

Jeff I.

Are we still doing the whole, "Cassie can't handle this" routine? She's seen many violent and disturbing movies. Kill Bill is cartoonish compared to movies like Pulp Fiction, the Revenant, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, etc. Stop it already. She's a grizzled vet by now. Kill Bill is child's play.

Al Swearengen

Me, too.

Philip Alan

Small moves, Stick. Small moves.

Philip Alan

Contact won?! Bah, humbug! The only possible explanation is that some people think it stars Bill Murray! :-) I just noticed that the first- and last-place movies share a certain well-known actor.

Happy Hanukkah

Um, a simple YT search of "Grosse Pointe Blank reaction" gave me 5-6 different channel reactions. Not sure where you're getting this notion that it hasn't been reacted to.

Brent Petty

She can appreciate KB on it's own merits, even without knowing the references. I didn't know them when I first watched it, and beyond her yellow outfit, I probably still miss all the others. Still a good movie.

Brent Petty

It’s not that I’m close-minded, it’s that there seems to be a sadistic contingent here. Even those who love Kill Bill think it’s a poor choice for all sorts of reasons besides the violence, like its reliance on obscure film references and that it’s not really a stand-alone movie. It’s just not a good choice for this channel. So the only conclusion I can come to about why it’s so high in the polls is not because they love Kill Bill but they love seeing Cassie get upset. Which in turn is upsetting to me.

jdj830

i actually prefer the sequel. love it!

diego kontarovsky

Glad you plugged City Slickers because I love that movie, but you have to admit the sequel is trash.

Brent Petty

Or I could take my vote away from both of them and go for BILL & TED instead. Wild Stalyns forever! ;-)

Stick Figure Studios

I ignored it. Contact never impressed me that much, but I'm also not a fan of Kill Bill either.

Mark Vaderr

I'm pretty sure Contact wouldn't be winning now if she hadn't endorsed it. Contact isn't popular enough of a film to be winning by the margin it is. I checked the YT reactions for each of the two front runners - the best Contact has is two reactions that are just under 90k (88 and 89k to be exact). while Kill Bill vol.1 has 5 reactions at 100k or higher, with one exception at 59k (and that one is only 3 months old). Even if you consider differences between YT and patreon audiences KB should be winning, or least be much closer. While it's nice that Cassie tells us to ignore her pick, we also know a good percentage of us absolutely will not ignore her pick.

Richard Maurer

You need to adopt a sense of humour buddy. I’m Australian. We are built different. Just a joke.

John Cranberry

I would like to recommend Cassie not watch Kill Bill even though it looks like it will take second place. Not because Cassie is too delicate or any of that nonsense but because there are other movies that really should be seen prior. Lady Snowbird and Bruce Lee’s Game of Death are large influences here. The movie Shaft would be good (blacksploitation) a bit of 70’s anime and at least read up a bit on “Grindhouse”-an early style of low budget action/adventure/sex/exploitation type of cinema from the 60’s 70’s and early 80’s. She has seen the Good, Bad and Ugly as well as Seven Samurai so she has some exposure to both Spaghetti Westerns and the Samurai/martial arts genres. Otherwise I think Cassie’s watch and reaction to Kill Bill will be similar as her reaction to Pulp Fiction. In fact watching what I’ve listed above and then having Cassie go back and rewatch Pulp Fiction she would probably enjoy and appreciate that movie much more as she would have a much greater understanding of the underlying influences.

Evil Darth Carl

@John Cranberry- for the love of Pete, politics doesn't need brought into everything. From the FAQ- Patreon Rules: Most of these go without saying, but: 3. No religious or political discussion. This is not a place to discuss politics or religion. This is a place to discuss movies and shows that you love (or don't love).

Mike Lemon

oh they’re both gonna hate it for sure hahah. that’s ok though. my second pick is dazed and confused. they’ll love that. everyone loves that movie. even quentin tarantino’s raved about dazed and confused.

Chip MC

As you can see Cassie, you've got a lot of fans who want to please you and are looking out for your sister. Maybe next time refrain from telegraphing what you'd like to see in advance. If you do, that will most definitely always become the winner, by a landslide.

John Liebling

There certainly has been a lot of activity regarding this 1-50 poll. If that was part of Cassie's motivation, then well done. We will have to wait and see what happens with 51-100 and if that brings forth the same passionate responses. We are all on our way to an exciting 2024. I am still hopeful we'll be watching Cassie react to Musical and more black and white classic movies from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

John Liebling

If it's a choice between Uncle Buck and City Slickers...I choose City 101 times out of a 100.

John Liebling

Not to be a “Stickler,” but City Slickers and Uncle Buck are competing with one another. There can be only 1 #3… that Cassie won’t watch. Duck the Buck & Slick it up Stick (-;

Larry Darrell

I think just the fact that it is Tarantino would be enough for her not to invite Carly, without reading any of the comments. 😄

Gábor Árki

Many people want Cassie to watch the films they like the best (actually, change many to nearly all) Some of those people may tend to prefer films with violence in them. It's really not some big mystery, nor is it some dark agenda. Some love musicals, others love horror, but there's room for everybody. I just wish the people here could be more open-minded about other peoples taste in films, I know I'm trying to be.

Richard Maurer

I'm not the biggest fan of PLEASANTVILLE myself, but I feel bad for those who are given that it's in last place. :-(

Stick Figure Studios

Contact!

Celeste McAllister

As for Tarantino's "masterpiece," I tend to go back and forth between INGLORIOUS BASTERDS and ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD myself. What is undeniable, of course, is that PULP FICTION is his most ubiquitous work. It's the one that's going to be placed next to his name in headlines when he eventually passes away.

Stick Figure Studios

I know the feeling. That's usually my experience.

Stick Figure Studios

CONTACT is my #1 too.

Stick Figure Studios

About every 10 years of so a space exploration/first contact sci-fi movie comes along that's more interested in ideas than in pure sensation (though it doesn't necessarily shirk on the latter), that asks deep questions about who we are and what our place in the universe is. 2001, SOLARIS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, ARRIVAL and (more recently) INTERSTELLAR and AD ASTRA. They may or may not be great movies, but they are ambitious, thought-provoking and spectacular. CONTACT was one of those movies.

Stick Figure Studios

Ha. I thought about that when I was copying/pasting. Unlikely that Pleasantville will win a poll.

Clay F

Most of Tarantino's films are style over substance (or as I prefer to say it, the style *is* the substance), but that doesn't mean they're not good for what they are and not worth seeing.

Stick Figure Studios

I've always liked GROSSE POINT BLANK, but it doesn't have a prayer.

Stick Figure Studios

I'm getting a sense that you really love Pleasantville (I might be psychic, or maybe I just read through the entire comments section ;-).

Richard Maurer

It's a multi-vote poll, so you can actually vote for CONTACT *and* CITY SLICKERS *and* UNCLE BUCK... which is what I did.

Stick Figure Studios

While I do think (and have for a long time) that there is a portion of the patrons who do sort of mischievously enjoy watching Cassie "suffer" through strong content (be it brutal violence or just extremely intense situations), to give people the benefit of the doubt as much as possible here, I don't know that that's contributing to KILL BILL's performance in this poll. I think a lot of people just really love Tarantino, love that movie and want Cassie to watch it.

Stick Figure Studios

Well regardless of Contact's worth, anyone who thinks Cassie saying which film she prefers doesn't have an effect on the poll is kidding themselves. I really kinda wish she'd stop doing that. I don't think contact would be winning now if she hadn't, the movie's really not that popular.

Richard Maurer

I don't think either volume of KILL BILL is "boring," but I get how a person might get a bit impatient with the second one since it is lighter on action and heavier on character development.

Stick Figure Studios

@MikeLL: Absolutely. TOP HAT is my favorite.

Stick Figure Studios

@Gabor: I agree. A lot of it will be an endurance test for Cassie, but she might get emotionally invested enough in the story and character of the bride to want to know what happens next.

Stick Figure Studios

@John Cranberry: You do realize that it's a multi-vote poll, right? I voted for CONTACT *and* CITY SLICKERS *and* UNCLE BUCK. CONTACT may be my first pick but I'd be fine with her watching any of these. I did not vote for KILL BILL, even though it is, in some ways, the "best" movie on this list (in other ways, CONTACT is), because I'm not sure it's the best movie for a PIB reaction right now. Plus, enough other people are voting for it that it doesn't need my help.

Stick Figure Studios

Carly will not be watching Kill Bill (unless Cassie and her team completely ignore this comments section). That being said, trying to use Carly to convince Cassie not to watch Kill Bill, or convince people to not vote for it, is a cheap tactic, whatever your motivation.

Richard Maurer

Heartily agree Clay though as a personal fave? I gotta give it up to Hateful 8 Natural Born Killers if we're counting Tarantino associated films

mikethemotormouth

Given all the comments here warning that it is not a Carly movie, I'd be very surprised if Cassie doesn't watch it alone. Will she actually like it? Hard to say. The violence will be rough but she might actually get invested in the story and character of the bride... and once you get to that final line of dialogue, I can actually see her then wanting to watch part 2.

Stick Figure Studios

No, Cassie will definitely not get the homages, but I don't think that will affect her viewing negatively since she tends to watch a film purely from a story/character perspective and most of Tarantino's films are still engaging on that level. Personally, I think a lot of QT's work is more enjoyable if you don't actually know the homages he loads it with because then they seem more original and he seems like less of a pastiche artist.

Stick Figure Studios

And what is the chance of Cassie watching all those movies that KB is a homage too? - zero, in case you didn't already know the answer. But seeing as probably 90% of the people who enjoy Kill Bill don't know those films either I don't really think that is a problem. Remember, the majority of most films audience are not film buffs, yet still manage to enjoy them.

Richard Maurer

How could she, she hasn't seen any. She wasn't sure if the Last Samuria would count. She just finished watching crouching rabbit spitting turtle and enjoy it but that's like watching Star Trek The Motion Picture and no tv episodes beforehand, and no other star trek movies afterwards. No chance you'd understand what star trek is all about.

John Liebling

Nobody is forcing her to do anything, and yet she is a very loyal person. She's trusted her Patrons to make the right call on her behalf, this is going to be one of the few times where that backfires.

John Liebling

I understand that I just wanted to try and boost City Slickers, which has consistently failed to reach even third place. I think most who support Cassie acknowledge that Carly will be devastated by watching Kill Bill, and Cassie will deal with it better, but not appreciate the violence and also how much both of them would enjoy the heart and humor of City Slickers. That's why I hope Cassie will watch it, even though it will probably not reach third place, let alone second.

John Liebling

I don't know how many times this has been said already (by me and several others), but no one is forcing Carly to watch KB, so there's no reason for Cassie not to watch it. Cassie may or may not like it (doesn't really matter either way) but saying Carly can't watch isn't a good argument against Cassie watching KB.

Richard Maurer

@ John Cranberry - now you're making me want to vote for Contact. Seriously, I didn't like it much the first time I saw (when it first came out) but I was much younger man and can appreciate it more now. still not enough to vote for it but I won't cry if it wins (which it looks like it will).

Richard Maurer

Many stories are simplistic. That doesn't make them bad. I've seen many movies with complex stories that turned out be bad. And for the kind of movie KB is, a complex story would literally be a stupid idea.

Richard Maurer

I've said before I would be very happy with any one of these on the channel. And so I voted for every single option.

mikethemotormouth

I might be #459 Happy to help 😊

mikethemotormouth

I'm with you there. I think Cassie would like Kill Bill for the way Tarantino presents the story and for Uma Thurmond's character so I would love to see her reaction to it. Carly, on the other hand, would not enjoy any of it because she would be so stressed.

Steve Miller

If She watches Kill Bill Vol. 1, then She should watch Kill Bill Vol. 2, sooner rather than later. In my opinion, it’s the better of the two, it completes the Story, and it was originally released soon after the first, around 6 months I think. I do agree, that it could put her off from watching another Tarantino film for a while again. I’m hoping She watches Jackie Brown (1997) sometime. If you were to put all of Tarantino’s films on a scale, (not saying what scale)… Jackie Brown (1997), Death Proof (2007) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), would register next to each other. And She liked, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I hope she remembers that one.

Larry Darrell

Kill Bill is brilliant, and the best performance of Uma Thurman's career, but it's an extremely violent homage to a lot of things Cassie hasn't seen. It's disturbing so many people would recommend it. It should be something you save for the end of a journey through martial arts films, not the beginning.

David Conroy

You are very correct that Cassie is not the audience for this film. Probably will make her not want to watch another Tarantino film. I'm smh at all those telling her to watch KB 2 right after KB. Watching KB will not make her want to watch KB 2, folks.

Mike LL

I agree completely about Grosse Pointe Blank. Cassie, and Carly, would both clearly love it. And Cassie likes Dan Ackroyd too who is in the movie.

Mike LL

A musical poll would be great. I would love for Cassie to see some of the Fred Astaire/Ginger Roger musical comedies.

Mike LL

I think people just don’t know it. It’s tricky with polls because you don’t want to spoil. A near perfect romantic fantasy drama that’s basically a mashup of Singing in the Rain and Back to the Future directed by the guy who made The Hunger Games isn’t getting less votes than Uncle Buck and City Slickers because people have seen it and decided they prefer 80s comedies, people just vote for what they know. I hope.

Jacob King

Apart from the violence, would Cassie be able to appreciate the obscure homages in Kill Bill? Especially those of old martial arts movies (Japanese in part 1 and Chinese in part 2).

Dazman

Cassie is connecting to movies and stories based on characters. I think the main reason she disliked Pulp Fiction was the lack of characters she could identify with in the stories. In this regard Kill Bill is going to be different having The Bride's perspective. It is a risky pick for sure, but if Cassie can look beyond the gore she may end up liking it. Definitely not for Carly, but I can't even understand why people think whatever we vote in must be watched by her. Cassie was simply curious which of these we think she should watch with Carly.

Gábor Árki

And that's an example of over-rating. The plot and character motivation is as simplistic as it gets and is only there to frame the stylistic violence.

Dazman

The Kill Bills are surprisingly hard to find outside of the States on Blu Ray for anyone looking to pick them up in advance of its second place win. Digital no probs though if that's your bag.

AdrianF

Same people who voted Biden into office.

John Cranberry

Apologies if I'm ruining a joke, but this poll is multi-vote; no need to choose only one.

Happy Hanukkah

Right now? 455 patrons. Glad to be of help. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

On God's Green Earth...Why? 😭 I have to admit, I don't remember the plot, but I am sure it will be a decent watch, BUT! The opportunity for Cassie to watch Kill Bill, or City Slickers, or Uncle Buck! I am still waiting for the day she watches First Blood...or the Original Mad Max and the Road Warrior.

John Cranberry

I bet she'd like Jackie Brown, actually.

Hunter DeRensis

Glad to see Contact in the lead but distressed to see Kill Bill in close second place. It really seems like some of you are only here to watch Cassie freak out. Yes sometimes violence serves a noble purpose (like in Saving Private Ryan) but there’s nothing noble about Kill Bill. Come on people.

jdj830

Kill Bill is a tour de force of brutality. One particular scene stands out in particular and the only way to describe it is this: ballet of blood. Everyone who's seen it knows the scene I'm talking about so for Carly's sake. Back of KB and let something else win. Just askin'.

Don Dunco

Clay F

Pleasantville also.

Clay F

Pleasantville

Clay F

I love Pleasantville.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville. Seeded with a good morality (IMO) that grows and blossoms.

Clay F

Pleasantville

Clay F

Agree

Clay F

Pleasantvill is a good choice for Carly too I think.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville. Agree it is a good choice for the sisters.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville.

Clay F

Kil Bill definitely better than Uncle Buck, but I voted Uncle Buck for nostalgia.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville. Seeded with a good morality (IMO) that grows and blossoms.

Clay F

All good movies in this poll. I voted these four: Pleasantville Dazed and Confused Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Uncle Buck I love Pleasantville. Seeded with a good morality (IMO) that grows and blossoms. Uncle Buck is a nostalgia vote for me.

Clay F

Jackie Brown is excelllent, but Pulp Fiction is his masterpiece.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville. Seeded with a good morality (IMO) that grows and blossoms.

Clay F

I love Pleasantville. Seeded with a good morality (IMO) that grows and blossoms.

Clay F

Cassie, other than Kill Bill, Carly would probably like every film on the list.

Brent Petty

There's no rule that says Carly would have to watch it.

Brent Petty

I would like to suggest, since Contact is running away with the poll, for those who would prefer Cassie and Carly watch City Slickers over Kill Bill...take your Contact vote and replace it with a vote for City Slickers...there is zero chance Contact will fall to second.

John Liebling

That's great.

Stick Figure Studios

Me too.

Stick Figure Studios

I am!

Stick Figure Studios

My other two votes (besides Kill Bill) were GPB and Uncle Buck. Whos says I don't have range?

Richard Maurer

So Carly doesn't watch - no problem. Just as long as Cassie does.

Richard Maurer

Agree. CT,HD barely has any violence, and the little it has freaked Carly. That being said I think some here (not you) are trying to use Carly to keep Cassie from watching KB. No rule says Carly has to watch with her.

Richard Maurer

"Kill Bill" is a pleasantly wild ride for most. Dripped in deep vibrant visuals that proceed colorful, well placed dialogue its no wonder it stands in second on this formidable list. Although it would be very curious to see PIB grip the handles on that roller coaster.

Kevin Kuma

Totally agree. No rule says that Carly must watch with her

Richard Maurer

As far as I know, there's no law that says Carly has to watch KB with Cassie. In fact I would recommend that she not watch it myself. Carly has the violence/horror resistance of your average preschooler (not an insult, just a fact). Cassie, on the other hand, has always been able to take more, and has come much further along since she first started reactions.

Richard Maurer

You're clearly missing the point.

John Liebling

If she reads a majority of these posts, she'll have a good idea of what she's getting into and be a good big sister and protect Carly.

John Liebling

Oh I never said I thought she'd like KB (though she might) just as I never said she liked IT. By underestimating her I meant people seem to think she can't handle KB just like they do with any movie more violent than Rocky. But for the record, the only thing I base my vote on is which movie I think is the best one in the poll (that has a chance of winning). The idea that a reactor should watch only movies that we're all sure they'll like seems "absurd" to me. Following that standard, she would have never watched 300, a movie she liked, despite what patrons said. And not watching 300 would have cost her 500k views on YT, a number that KB will probably come closer to than any other movie in the poll.

Richard Maurer

Who is voting for Contact 🤦‍♂️

John Cranberry

City Slickers is a funny comedy with heart.

Brent Petty

I do feel like it's tragic how few channels have done GPB. Hopefully this is its year.

Tyler Foster

it’s a movie. they’re not buying a house. it’ll be over in 2hrs.

Chip MC

Given Cassie's reaction to Pulp Fiction, she most certainly will not like Kill Bill (even worse, she would have to watch both part 1 and 2 in order to get the whole story). Carly would be 100% guaranteed not to like it. You have Carly watch Kill Bill and you would destroy all trust she has in the selection of movies. She would never watch another movie on this channel again. Cassie might even have serious doubts about leaving selection of movies up to her Patreon followers. (On a side note, Cassie might appreciate the story in Kill Bill more than she did Pulp Fiction, but she'd still have a problem with the violence and gore).

D. T. Nelson

Grosse Pointe Blank is so great. John Cusack's funniest(and best...?) movie AND it's a romantic comedy? C'mon, people!

sarCC

I’m voting Kill Bill. Highly possible you may not like it but it’s just gotta be experienced.

Chip MC

After watching the reaction to Crouching Tiger, I will say again - DO NOT have Carly watch Kill Bill, as much as some here would like to see it.

Steve Miller

The subject matter of Kill Bill, the motivation behind the protagonist not being considered substance is a crazy thing to say.

YodatheHobbit

Kill bill was good. But i love city slickers!!

Audrey

No.

YodatheHobbit

Stargate was on a poll, but didn't fare well on it. I don't recall Cassie ever committing on it other than saying probably someday.

Shawn Kildal

Cassie. While Kill Bill is 2nd in the poll, I think you should either immediately watch Part 2 or wait until you are ready to watch them both. It will feel incomplete not watch hing both considering part 1 ends on a cliff hanger. If it wasn't so violent, I think Carly would love the movie since likes BA.

Brian McGovern

It makes me giggle to think there's a world where Helen Hunt auditioned for Contact, lost out to Ms. Foster, and is still a little pissed about it. Meanwhile somewhere Helen Hunt got a cold shiver cause Brian brought it up again!!! Good job, Brian!!! (JOKE. KIDDING.)

ContrabandDonut

I'd like Cassie and Carly to start off with Gene Kelly in On The Town, Singing In The Rain, and An American in Paris.

John Liebling

Maybe the new rule can be any movie with over 310 votes needs to be watched by Cassie and Carly.

John Liebling

....Carl Sagan's ghost has entered the chat???

ContrabandDonut

And I was super wrong. Contact is a good movie, Carly and Cassie will love it. Its just past peak Jodie Foster, which is still pretty good. The book is pretty excellent. I saw it in the theatre, and I have never ever had a single urge to see it again.

ContrabandDonut

Wow, never expected that to be recommended, but as a fan of variety I agree.

Mike Lemon

I found them to be boring also. And a bit silly.

Darreld Studie

App

Michael Rios

@stick One of my top fav movies ever. I agree.

Philip Alan

February would be perfect for West Side Story or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

mikethemotormouth

I agree about Kill Bill but I haven’t the slightest idea how she would react to Dazed and Confused. It’s one of my favorite films but that has a lot to do with the fact that it’s pretty much the only movie that depicts a teenage culture that resembles the one I grew up in, presented from the point of view that most resembles mine. Cassie might find it amusing but I could also see her getting impatient with it. (It actually might be more of a Carly film…)

jdj830

I am crossing my fingers for a Musical poll sometime in January or February.

John Liebling

Maybe toss Pleasantville as an extra in the 51-100 poll.

John Liebling

LOL

John Liebling

Unfortunately, Bill is Killing it.

John Liebling

Well, if Cassie watches vol 1 with Carly you can certainly bet more than half a penny that Carly will decline any future installments, and that's what I mean regarding closure, because I don't know if Cassie will continue on, without her sister. After all she didn't like Austen Powers so much and will most likely be missing out on the second installment.

John Liebling

I walked out the theatre of the 2nd one. Jackie Brown is QTs only good film

Hail to the King

If you seriously consider Kill Bill to be boring, I don't know what to tell you.

Jeff I.

Bill & Ted will be a great film for both Carly and Cassie to watch together. Its great fun.

Sean

"It's okay if you don't understand the movie, but it's not garbage lol" Terrible casting with absolutely no chemistry between Foster and McConaghey, pointless FORREST GUMP-ification of Bill Clinton just because they could, one of the oldest and lamest cliches in all of sci-fi history followed by a ridiculous and insulting "debate"...I understood the movie just fine, it just sucked.

Patrick Flanagan

Kill Bill could be interesting, I am not sure Carly will like the movie as much as we would like to see her reaction to it...

Arne Bjørnebekk

Not bad

Stick Figure Studios

I love space movies. Contact was the film that gave me that love.

Louis Chapman

Yeah, CONTACT is the kind of cerebral, philosophical and substantive sci-fi that we don't get much of anymore.

Stick Figure Studios

@John: Yeah, KILL BILL is definitely not a Carly movie. If it comes in second, I suspect Cassie will watch it alone.

Stick Figure Studios

@Paul; Cassie has, Carly has not. Carly struggles with strong violence.

Stick Figure Studios

@justin: Interestingly, both Siskel and Ebert loved that movie (although if I were to joke with someone about disliking a good film, I'd probably call them Siskel instead of Ebert since Siskel seemed to dislike way more movies than Ebert did).

Stick Figure Studios

Wonderful film based on a true story. Not depressing, but (like life itself) somewhat bittersweet. I think Cassie would actually like it.

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, in spite of its strong content, I could see Cassie possibly enjoying KILL. BILL (especially the second volume), but it is definitely not a Carly movie.

Stick Figure Studios

I’m really curious why you find it entertaining to see Cassie traumatized. She has deep empathy and feels every injury she witnesses on screen. It’s evident that this channel has increased her tolerance for violence, but why is that a good thing? Why do you all enjoy watching her get upset?

jdj830

If KILL BILL VOL. 1 does indeed come in 2nd and you plan to watch the top two winners, Cassie, then I would strongly recommend not watching that one with Carly. It'll be rough but I think you can handle it. Carly won't be able to and she will not enjoy it.

Stick Figure Studios

What an absurd statement. How is recognizing that different people have different likes and dislikes 'underestimating' them? Of course she watched It, do you really think that she genuinely enjoyed it, or wouldn't have enjoyed any number of other movies far, far more? It's arrogance to assume that someone has to like something just because you do - half of my favorite movies I'd never suggest for these ladies, but that's not a problem because there are so many wonderful movies out there I know they'd love, we could spend three lifetimes and not get through them all.

Story Archer

John, that's why she'll watch the second part for closure on the story presumably. I assume she knows there is a sequel, considering the name of the movie has 'Part 1' in it. It's actually less of a sequel and more of cutting one 4 and a half hour movie down into two separate releases.

Jeff I.

Man this is tough. A great list. I would love all these with the exception being that I don't see Cassie enjoying kill Bill but thats just me. Hopefully the " losers" can have a b side playoff

Canadianant

Agreed...

John Liebling

But it will be a difficult watch for Carly. You know Cassie cares for her sister a hell of a lot more than she would any channel. That's her family and she wants all shared experiences with her to be good ones and we all know how Carly reacts to films like Kill Bill. I am surprised you'd support such a violent film. And the first one will not give what Cassie expects from all films...Closure!

John Liebling

Like all the movies on here except Kill Bill. the would probably like City Slickers and Pleasantville the most. Gross Pointe Blank and Dazed and Confused are personal favorites.

David Thibodeau

Let's have a big City Slicker surge and try and overtake Kill Bill...Let's do it for Carly. We know Cassie can handle it, though I feel she'll be uncomfortable, we don't want to make this a bad experience for Carly. Cassie loves her sister, and I don't think she'd appreciate that happening to her.

John Liebling

It's okay if you don't understand the movie, but it's not garbage lol ... try to have a good day Ebert :)

justin swan

Kill Bill movies are boring, Lady Snowblood is much better

Hail to the King

Except that Cassie watched It Chapter 1 by her own choice. So there was no need for her to "edure" it, she made the choice herself. I wish people would stop underestimating her.

Richard Maurer

No, it means movies you may not like but should probably see anyway.

Richard Maurer

Voted Kill Bill because it's the best movie on the poll. But there's nothing here that I would hate to see win.

Richard Maurer

Cassie watched It Chapter 1 of her own volition, and got through it ok. Why are we even having this conversation anymore? Kill Bill isn't going to wreak her, no matter what these people think.

Richard Maurer

I keep forgetting how delicate people think Cassie and Carly are. Guess this crap will never end.

nick bell

She did enjoy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and I’ll put my money on Jackie Brown (1997) for the next Tarantino film She might Really like. It has 3 Elements that are usually wins with Cassie.

Larry Darrell

It worked fine for me here, did you vote straight in the email, from the Patreon website, or in their mobile app?

Patrick Egan

Patrons can request and upvote movies on the list at popcornrequests.com

Alex Ch

Dazed and Confused is an eventual must-watch movie, but I’d recommend seeing “American Graffiti” first.

Silver Machine

Which list are we working from? Or is this a personal list Cassie has?

Powers209

City Slickers is one of the most fun flicks you can watch.... it has a little bit of everything (including Jack Palance, which is always a good thing). I've never met anyone who didn't like it. Contact is also excellent, though the ending wasn't my favorite. All the other movies are worth watching, but those are the two standouts in this group for me.

Cliff Endicott

Kill Bill is super violent and may be a little Grosse, Point Blank for you and Cassie. Uncle Buck isn't great but its a nice little trip to Pleasantville. Contact might leave you a little Dazed and Confused. My vote is City Slickers which is an Excellent Adventure.

Javier Hernandez

Yes, Contact is winning but unfortunately she said she will probably watch the top two here so that means Kill Bill as well. The most we can hope for is to spare Carly the Kill Bill watch.

Mike LL

Why talk about the ending of a movie she has never seen? Why talk about it at all? smh

Mike LL

You should give THE MAN FROM EARTH a try. I've watched it without knowing anything about the plot beforehand and it was a great, memorable experience and left a lasting impression. I would probably put it into my trivia winner picks in the unlikely case there is a trivia night I win, if nothing else just to give it some recognition.

Gábor Árki

I love City Slickers and I'm sure Cassie and Carly would too. Kill Bill has become a bit overrated IMO, very much style over substance and would probably baffle Cassie! (At the very least she should get more martial arts films under her belt first).

Dazman

Uncle Buck is just plain fun with a dash of heart warming ending thrown in. John Candy is golden in one of his best roles. I admit I'm not a fan of Tarantino's blood splashed films. I don't think they're worth the gore. That's just my thing. Contact is really well done. One twist after another. You never know what will happen next. And City Slickers is a lot of fun.

Clear Light

I think Contact needs to finally win a poll after years. It's totally a Cassie movie, She will love it, and it's extraordinarily thought provoking. I remember seeing it in 1997 with a friend of mine who was an extra in the movie. It blew me away back then, when I was 13 and I didn't understand the whole thing. It still blows me away now that I'm older.

Caomhan84

You and Carly will both enjoy City Slickers, but I also think Kill Bill and Contact are important to see. Kill Bill is so great because of female badassery, empowerment, and defending of innocence and children though so once you get past the blood, it's a great story.

YodatheHobbit

Good amount of good movies to vote for, yay. I almost want Pleasantville to win because I haven't seen it since it came out, so would be a fun rewatch, but I think I more so want Cassie to see some of the other more dramatic films.

YodatheHobbit

some really decent choices on this poll. I'm sure I and more importantly you will enjoy whichever ones win! Look forward to those reactions. Happy 2024!

Roger Hagerty

Every movie on the poll is so much worthy and great in their own rights. "Uncle Buck" is so much fun, but I agree on "Contact", that movie is just so touching, fascinating, intelligent and fantastic in all apects and I bet both Cassie and Carly will love it..

Jens Kristensen

What a great thing to wake up to, CONTACT is on a poll and leading! Thank you Patreon. CONTACT is my #1 pick here; I've been keep suggesting this movie ever since I'm around and is in my personal top 10 picks. It is not a typical action-packed sci-fi, but rather a thoughtful and realistic one. I think Carly could join and she would enjoy it too. KILL BILL is my #2. I think it is my favorite Tarantino movie and I think Cassie is ready to appreciate it. However, I must warn you that it is very violent and graphic. It is not a movie for Carly, for sure. But if Cassie can look past the gore and connect to the story (and I have faith that she can), it might be a great experience. Just remember that it is actually one movie divided into two volumes, so you should watch both of them in sequence. PLEASANTVILLE is my #3. I think it is kind of a hidden, somewhat forgotten gem. I'm sure Cassie would like it and Carly could join in as well. As for the rest, surprisingly I have not seen CITY SLICKERS, UNCLE BUCK, GROSSE POINT BLANK, or BILL AND TED either. DAZED AND CONFUSED I have and enjoyed it, but I can't decide if Cassie would resonate with it beyond the young ensemble cast. Probably not something for Carly.

Gábor Árki

I vote for Uncle Buck. It is probably John Candy's funniest movie. It's too bad he left us far too early.

Darreld Studie

Contact!!

Will C

Ditto!

Michael Gilbrook

PLANET OF THE APES is a classic and presumably Cassie is going to watch it later this year. I have not seen MAN FROM EARTH yet.

Stick Figure Studios

Ugh!!!!…. This is tough!!! Ok, I’m from Austin, so Matthew inquiring “Got any pot?” (A line he delivered with STARTLING realism!) and is told no. His next line!!! I think Cassie would enjoy the message of Pleasantville. She adored ‘42,’ so….. But I might have to do my part to have Cassie and Quentin reconcile…. It’s so tragic! On some level Cassie knows Tarantino is a brilliant filmmaker but she’s not, currently, secure in the relationship. I think Kill Bill is just the sort of calm, soothing experience to help her break through the barrier she has. Cmon everyone, pitch in, Quentin and Cassie back on good terms!!

Lamar Smith

you need to see PLEASANTVILLE as soon as possible! UNCLE BUCK is also a must-see. and the fun thing about CITY SLICKERS and BILL & TED is that you can follow them up with the sequels. but for sure my #1 pick from this list is PLEASANTVILLE

diego kontarovsky

Contact, Pleasantville, and Dazed and Confused get my votes.

G

I love sci-fi films, and I hope Contact wins. I agree that Contact is better than Interstellar. Kubrick's 2001 is just a work of art, but my favorite sci-fi of all time is Planet of the Apes (1968). Have you seen The Man from Earth (2007)?

G

Too depressing

N M

Some time, Cassie, you might consider a follow-up to the less targeted polls like this to learn which films the Patron voters have actually seen. Maybe there's a way to handicap such polls so that both you and the voters who haven't seen less common films could get more exposure to the diversity of film.

Bert Towle

Cause Contact is an excellent sci-fi film.

G

Oh, don't worry, mate. I'm not "correcting" your opinion. Just sharing my own. When you express a POV on the Internet, you run the risk of having to hear other people express theirs in response. What's good for the goose has to be good for the gander after all. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Love 2001, but gotta disagree with you on CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. That's one of my favorites and I think it's just as sublime as it was 45 years ago.

Stick Figure Studios

I cannot wait to see her reaction to 2001. Possibly my favorite film, definitely in my top 3. That would be a major milestone for this channel. (Close Encounters, on the other hand, hasn't aged all that well...)

jdj830

Dazed and confused in lash place is tragic

Kevin Walsh

"City Slickers". This poll is insane, all these films are worth your time no doubt, but the unmatched talent and performance of Billy Crystal, in all that he does, is surely enviable among the uber talented characters here on this list.

Kevin Kuma

It's a great book and (IMO) a great movie! Sagan is a legend ❤️ But most people like the lasers and drama of pop scifi more

John Sullivan

You'll love City Slickers. Totally the kind of movie you've come to love on your channel. Gross Pointe Blank is one I've also suggested before, and Pleasantville is one of my favorite movies. Can't wait to see your reactions!

Mike Amandes

I like you thought about 'Contact' not being a theatrical 'story' like 'Star Wars' or 'Star Trek'. I agree, it's not that. Contact is more about the nature of humans... who we are... what we need... and why. It was derived from a book written by the astronomer; Carl Sagan.

Terry Yelmene

My votes are for CITY SLICKERS, UNCLE BUCK, and PLEASANTVILLE! Without spoiling anything, CITY SLICKERS stars Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern and Jack Palance, really great cast full of fun and plenty of humor with tender moments, personally I like the second one better, more fun and humor and somewhat has an Indiana Jones vibe lol! Still I think you and maybe Carly will enjoy it! UNCLE BUCK is another underrated John Candy movie, one of his best, also stars a very young Macaulay Culkin, pre HOME ALONE days lol! Still, one of John Candy's best! PLEASANTVILLE is a very underrated family film that doesn't have much recognition these days, like nobody ever talks about it, and yet it has such an amazing all-star cast of actors; Tobey Macguire, Reese Witherspoon, the late Don Knotts, William H. Macy, Jeff Daniels, and Joan Allen, WHOA!!!!🤯lol🤣 Still, a very good "feel good" type of movie that I think you and Carly would like! Great choices nonetheless Cassie, may the best film win! Love and support, Happy New Year, glad to hear you and the family are feeling better and healthy again, [virtual hug🤗] God bless you Carly and your family🥰😁😉😇🙏🌹👍

Wesley White

Ordinarily no, but haven't they been watching the John Wick movies?

Paul Stelter

Both of them would love the comedies PLEASANTVILLE and BILL AND TED. PLEASANTVILLE is a lot more thoughtful and less silly, but it's also got a very young Tobey Maguire which they'll like.

Paul Stelter

I agree.

Rick Williams

Contact would be a good movie for Cassie and Carly. Carly couldn't handle Kill Bill.

Rick Williams

Great point. Cassie really liked the Star Treks and she was so engaged/taken with Arrival's reveal, that Contact and Close Encounters, and Interstellar, and even 2001 will be great reacts.

Terry Yelmene

It's not part of the poll, you think Cassie and Carly would enjoy the Robin Williams Robert Deniro film "Awakenings"?

John Liebling

Rereading the terms and conditions of my Internet license, it turns out that I actually can have opinions of my own and that you don't need to weigh on them to "correct" me

Patrick Flanagan

That's why I never win on Trivia Night. Thanks!

Brian's Dog

Hellen Hunt was great in Twister, but I'm afraid it's Jodie Foster who stars in Contact.

Terry Yelmene

Grosse Pointe Blank is a good movie. So, is Contact and Uncle Buck. I think Carly would like all three.

Rick Williams

It won’t win but I have to vote for grosse pointe blank. One of my all time favorites.

Don

She also reacted to STAR TREK, THE MOTION PICTURE and enjoyed that. I think she is totally up for the kind of existential, awe-inspiring science fiction experiences that movies like CONTACT, ADD ASTRA, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND and, of course, 2001 can provide.

Stick Figure Studios

Honestly, I never expected it either, but I am pleased.

Stick Figure Studios

CONTACT is art.

Stick Figure Studios

I would have voted for it anyway. I think it's a wonderful movie.

Stick Figure Studios

Glad to see Kill Bill in second place, as long as she does Part 2 as well. It's a good change of pace both genre and style wise.

Jeff I.

REALLY pleased to see CONTACT winning. That is a marvelous movie. The kind of beautiful, existential science fiction we don't get much of anymore (except maybe something like INTERSTELLAR though I think CONTACT is better). After STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE and with CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND so high up in the patron picks, I see this as another stepping stone towards an eventual reaction to the awe-inspiring masterpiece that is Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.

Stick Figure Studios

Helen Hunt's best movie? Does Contact edge out Twister?

Brian's Dog

No matter what wins, I'm sure I'll love your reaction of it

mikethemotormouth

She expressed mucho love for it as she picked it in the video she posted! :)

Philip Alan

KB's getting beat out!! Seriously!! Guys what are we doing here.. I know some are worried about Cass and Carly's delicate sensibilities, but they're big girls.. I'm sure they'll do just fine.. Edit: Just watched the top 50 drawing vid below.. Alright, if Carly wants to watch Contact then, that's what we're watchn' "sigh"😁

PastaDon

I’d like to see you both react to Contact (some great performances and a cerebral/spiritual sci-fi) and City Slickers (funny and tender).

2-Can

As much as I love Kill Bill I & II, I would never subject Carli and Cassie to them. They would endure it in good spirits as they have several others, but it's simply not their kind of flick. Pleasantville and most especially Contact, on the other hand are wonderful choices. Contact borders on what I would consider a masterpiece.

Story Archer

Why?

John Liebling

Not letting me pick more than one.

Brent Petty

Pass they mostly stink

Benjamin Gerrald

“but Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, ‘It will be happier.’” - Alfred Tennyson

Larry Darrell

Contact only winning because ...well we know why lol

Philip G.

Jeff & Philip - I like both v1 and v2, but for Cassie & Carly? Any of the other movies are a better choice 🤷‍♂️. No one else has done GPB (happens to be my #1 request on popcornpicks) I prefer fun reactions over "scar them" reactions. To each his own.

Mike H

Haha! Personally, I don't want her to watch movies that are "right up her alley". I'm a more "out of her comfort zone" type of guy. Makes for great reactions.

Philip Alan

MINIMALLY they would make great reaction videos!

Philip Alan

Thank you @Mike!

Philip Alan

I’ll go further and say that Carly should not watch ANY Tarantino film. lol

Ike

Hopefully CONTACT loses. That movie is garbage. I love GROSSE POINTE BLANK but if I'm honest that movie is probably too violent for Carly. PLEASANTVILLE is probably the most interesting-but-non-violent movie on this list.

Patrick Flanagan

You really should watch the top 3 picks here! :)

Philip Alan

You have a great list here. That is why it's so close!

Philip Alan

There are well made, excellent films There are bad, but nostalgic movies There are mediocre, but popular cult classics … then there are ones that you should experience. … ones that will garner a memorable reaction … and others you will certainly enjoy, but put “reaction” on the back burner. I like all of these choices for the various reasons above - I’ll vote, but I rather do it with my eyes closed. [edit] I’ve been reprimanded by the Commander-in-Chief for my idea. “We” choose City Slickers for the Cassie/Carly team dynamic. All of these are good picks 😁

Ike

Yes, but the other reactors aren't Cassie.

Philip Alan

With Carly in the mix the Obvious Choice is, of course, Uncle Buck. And even though Grosse Point Blank IS violent (sorta) I think that both of our comely young ladies can handle it easily.

Don Dunco

I think any of these, except Kill Bill, are movies that Carly would enjoy. I don't see any point to Kill Bill vol 1 without adding vol 2 because they are really one story. I would pick Pleasantville as a good sisters movie, but it does not appear to be polling well.

Steve Miller

Carly will enjoy everything except for Kill Bill. She might be so-so on Contact.

Mark Vaderr

It'll be seen eventually 🙃

mikethemotormouth

Whatever gets chosen, Cassie will make it great. Although Pleasantville was directed by Gary Ross, who directed the first Hunger Games. Kill Bill directed by Quentin Tarantino. Which here is Tarantino on why Sharon Tate's story had to be told. https://youtu.be/_OqPp5lJ0l0?si=zln5l1tQ92a7gnJ9 Did you know that the first person he showed the Once Upon Time In Hollywood Script was to Sharon sister, Debra Tate?

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Hey folks Cassie wants to watch with Carly, you honestly think a film as violent as that would appeal to Carly? I think we'll need a do-over. No way Carly can handle that. I hope the Kill Bill supporters will change their mind and vote for City Slickers and Pleasantville.

John Liebling

I greatly enjoyed DJANGO VS DJANGO documentary on Netflix where Tarantino talked about Sergio Corbucci's sphaghetti Westerns and their influence on his filmmaking. In other words, I enjoyed watching Tarantino talking about his film influences much more than the actual films that he made as a result of that influence. As a film historian he is fascinating. As an actual director he is weird and overrated.

Mike LL

Come on people, do the right thing. Vote for Grosse Pointe Blank

Matthew Folz

Looking at the rankings of these movies (and how far down my own suggestions are), I'm starting to doubt my selections will ever see the light of day on these polls.

Mario

"Grosse Point Blank" I can watch over & over again.

Duane A Lavely

Not scheduled, but I remember her saying she would watch it.

Mike LL

Yeah, wasn't Stargate scheduled for a reaction awhile ago?

Katie Jackson

Totally agree

Dan M

I’m right there with you Katie

Dan M

Uncle Buck beating Kill Bill… Things I never thought I’d see on here…. Even if it is just for the moment. This might be an interesting year. Also, Carly would most likely enjoy all of these, Except One… Kill Bill. Not saying She shouldn’t watch it… but, just Fair Warning. That being said… Two Quentin Tarantino films I do recommend for Carly are… Jackie Brown (1997) & Death Proof (2007). By the way, I’m not voting for Kill Bill or Uncle Buck. City Slickers for #2!!! Woo Hoo!!

Larry Darrell

Would like to point out in general that COMING TO AMERICA should have been watched already, especially after TRADING SPACES, er, I mean, PLACES. 🤣 Also, what happened to STARGATE???

Mike LL

Dazed and Confused is the best title on this list. It's also the one I think Carly would enjoy the most.

Joe Monroe

Contact isn't like Star Wars/Trek. It's "hard" scifi a lot of people find boring. But real scientists love it

John Sullivan

In Contact you’ll be entertained, and I believe Uncle Buck would be great for a sisters movie reaction.

FranciscoGios

BIll and Ted is by far my favorite movie in the poll, but everybody has reacted to it, so I voted for something else.

Mike Lemon

Oooh this is a quality list. Very tricky choosing what I think you’d like most Cassie.

Ria Grix

It doesn't look like Pleasantville is gonna win😔 I'll just have to continue my 2 year and counting campaign for that reaction

Katie Jackson

If any movie needs more love it’s Pleasantville. And Grosse Point Blank.

Jacob King

LOL If you are your family's Buck, I sure hope Cassie reacts to it (and Contact too) and we all think of you, Joe!

Terry Yelmene

I never expected contact to be winning. Of all the movies here I think Cassie would enjoy Pleasantville the most.

Yaisu

Totally agree. Those are the two I voted for.

Mike LL

GPB needs some serious (good) reaction love.

Kristin D

Contact and Grosse Point Blank. Contact is a must see. Grosse is a lot of fun and deserves more reaction love.

Kristin D

These polls never cease to surprise me. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is "almost" in last place? I mean a time travel movie, set in the late 80s, with a young Keanu and George Carlin should be crushing all these other films.

Todzilla

As far as Carly watching, I think she will enjoy any or all of these except for Kill Bill. She should not watch this Tarantino film. As a matter of my personal opinion, I don't think you should watch Kill Bill, either. But that is just my opinion. I don't see anything in it that will redeem the movie for you.

Mike LL

840 votes within the first hour of the poll. That is some great engagement that we can all feel proud of. Can’t wait to see what movie wins.

Uncle Phoenix

Dam. All these are good 🫤🤔

pkleo73

Pleasantville would be my first choice for PIB. I also wondered if it is doing so poorly because many people are unfamiliar with it.

Daniel Goldberg

My favorite among these is Dazed and Confused, but that might be because I'm the right age for it; not sure if the young'uns will love it as much as I do. Cassie should definitely watch Bill and Ted at some point but there are more important films on this list. I really don't think we should make Cassie watch Kill Bill; it's literally one of the most violent films ever made and, as others have noted, it's kind of meaningless without Vol. II. I'm kind of torn between Pleasantville and Contact.

jdj830

Great choices there!

Omar

Same

John Armbruster

I think you are right about Grosse Point Blank, and not just because it is my favorite. GPB just clicks so many boxes that Cassie likes. Whereas Kil Bill clicks almost none of the boxes Cassie enjoys.

Mike LL

I'm trying to vote for Contact and Pleasantville not just because I love both movies, but I'm certain they are both right in her wheelhouse. However, the poll button is stuck on Uncle Buck for me and won't change 😔

John Armbruster

I'm basically Uncle Buck in my family, so hoping that one wins ❤️

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Pleasantville is such a fun movie.

Nathan Swapp

Of all the movies you could put in a poll... the 1997 human-centered sci-fi classic 'CONTACT' is so, so special. Since Cassie has already reacted to one of the three greatest films of this genre; 'Arrival' also would be blown away by experiencing the third of the human-centric space trillogy; 'Interstellar'... please join me in voting for this Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey epic. Vote for 'Contact' - "For Carl."

Terry Yelmene

If it's a very close finish, would you react to the runner up movie also? If not, that's absolutely fine, it's your channel.

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Very tight race. Pleasantville is not doing as well as I hoped. Please consider watching and reacting to this movie if it doesn’t win. I think Carly will like them all except for Kill Bill.

Dan M

I think Carly would really enjoy Pleasantville. The only reason I didn't pick Kill Bill, Vol. 1, is because you cannot watch Vol 1, with Vol 2.

Franklin Silberzahn

It's a fun list (mostly).

Bert Towle

Pleasantville is definitely the most PIB-friendly movie on the list, but there's so many to enjoy. KB-1 is the least friendly for our preferred reactionista.

Bert Towle

O I C just a poorly phrased sentence

mikethemotormouth

For Cassie, I'll vote for Contact

Shawn Kildal

Polls on the app have been troublesome for quite a while now, maybe a year or so? I share the post from the app to my mobile browser then vote

mikethemotormouth

No matter, we all picked. It's now her choice.

Rodger

Contact is one of my all time favorites. Been waiting on that reaction for years. That movie hits so much harder as an adult that it did when I was a teenager. Hope it wins.

Blake Evans

I agree. There are many movies that are violent and entertaining. This movie is just violent.

Dan M

Out of her context is fine, but with a poll, she would love that the most.

Rodger

Uncle Buck, Grosse Pointe Blank, and Dazed & Confused are the top three IMO. I never really got the fandom over Kill Bill if I'm being honest; both parts were alright, but I think nearly all of Tarantino's other movies are quite a bit more entertaining. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Christopher B.

No guys, Pleasantville she would love the most!! Know her audience of movies.

Rodger

So weird to me that Pleasantville is is in last place. I can definitely understand Contact getting the most votes (excellent movie), but Pleasantville getting less than Bill & Ted, and even less than Dazed and Confused...? (Dazed and Confused is better than Bill & Ted in my opinion) I mean, those movies are okay, but nowhere near the quality of Pleasantville. Perhaps not as many people have seen it as I thought. The Kill Bill movies are definitely an interesting watch, but keep in mind they are Quentin Tarantino films, so... not Carly fare. The rest she could easily handle. Uncle Buck, City Slickers, and Grosse Point Blank are all fun comedies. If I was to put them in order : 1st: Contact, 2nd: Pleasantville, 3rd: a tie between City Slickers, Uncle Buck, and Grosse Point Blank followed by kill Bill, Dazed & Confused, and lastly Bill & Ted.

D. T. Nelson

Contact is by far the best film and would be a good reaction. Pleasantville is legit too.

PubsWorld

This poll is way closer than usual....so far!!

Cassie

Can I vote for Uncle Buck (1989) twice?? Just kidding

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Yep

Choof

You're not casting your vote using the app, are you?

mikethemotormouth

What!!!

Robert Nelson

Correction: Uncle Buck THEN City Slickers!

Timothy Williams

To me its a 3-way tie in this order 1 - uncle buck 1 - city slickers 1 - bill & ted's All three are a must-see. I did vote for uncle buck, as will EVERYONE else.

Robert Nelson

I would be very happy with any one of these

mikethemotormouth

Yeah, Vol 1 shouldn't be watched unless Vol 2 is scheduled right behind it. I'd rather she wait and watch something else off the list.

_tragicmike

I was referencing the director Robert Zemeckis, then stated Contact stars those two

Choof

Ya I never watched Kill Bill all the way through. Was too much for me, tho Cassie has shown herself to be more resilient then we usually think. But it would not be my choice either way.

Andrew Rose

"Outside your comfort zone" doesn't mean "movies you don't like".

Mike Lemon

You all know Cassie will LOVE City Slickers!! Then Uncle Buck and she will watch several of the others.

Timothy Williams

Romancing the Stone doesn't star Jodie Foster or Matthew McConaughey 🤨

mikethemotormouth

I agree, which means it will lose this poll. 😆

_tragicmike

Going with BILL AND TED so that Cassie can see John Wick waaaaaaaaay before he became 'John Wick'.

Matt Rose

alright alright alright!

Matt Rose

Disagreed. I would absolutely describe Kill Bill Vol 1+2 as a must watch as an ultimate revenge act

mikethemotormouth

It's waaay too tough to pick just one! Please, in time, watch them all. 🙏

Knight Squirrel

oooh ooh ooh (squeals with delight at the prospect of a reaction to Uncle Buck) lol will be a good one if she does it!!

Andrew Rose

I like Kill Bill, but I’m a little surprised the community thinks that would be a fun reaction to watch. I support people voting for whatever they want to see, though.

Alex Ch

Nice poll. Fine, watch the top 2 but watch City Slickers anyway. If you select Kill Bill vol 1, you *must* follow it immediately with vol 2 (they are essentially one movie broken into two volumes).

Chris Brown

Pleasantville is up your alley

Rodger

Huzzah for watching media outside your comfort zone! The reason Cassie started the channel to begin with!

mikethemotormouth

Vote for the Greek God Matthew McConaughey, he shows up twice on this list.

Jane Harker

Poll won't let me vote for more than 1 :/

Michael Rios

I agree completely. I too think Cassie is not the audience for Kill Bill. Hope something else wins.

Mike LL

Same problem

R Harper

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K...

Matt Rose

I forgot for a sec OUATIH was Tarantino, I actually really enjoyed that one!

Cassie

Bill & Ted is a lot of fun, but Contact is definitely my #1 choice from that list.

Patrick Egan

Me, too!

Philip Alan

Disagree. Kill Bill 1 and 2 are great movies.

Jeff Rogers

Don't vote for more than one, lads... it's a trap. Just Kill Bill and we got this! But... I do love Uncle Buck 🤔

Brett Richey

Instead of trying to vote on the main page, click on the title of the post to go into the post itself. You should be able to vote there instead.

Future Boy

You're not casting your vote using the app, are you?

mikethemotormouth

You should probably avoid Kill Bill, as I can guarantee you'll find it too violent and gory.

Stranger2Reality

She’s watched Pulp Fiction and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood for the channel and mentioned seeing Inglorious Bastards and Django Unchained before the channel.

Just Plain Bob

You can vote for more than one though

mikethemotormouth

Just watch the top 'as many as needed' to include Contact. 😁 Most movies are suitable for Carly except Kill Bill

Pickupthepieces76

But it will make for one hell-of-a reaction. And I'm here for it.

Philip Alan

Great poll. I voted for City Slickers, Pleasantville and Grosse Pointe Blank, but I’d be ok with any of these. That being said, Kill Bill isn’t for Cassie so I hope that doesn’t win.

Luke Godfrey

Of all the other Tarantinos, I think Cassie would love Jackie Brown the most. One of Tarantino's least violent, and it also kind of has a love story that's quite charming, and it also feels quite "heisty."

Future Boy

Voted for Kill Bill but will be happy for Contact or Uncle Buck to win too! **just realised can vote more than one, so have voted for all 3**. I think it's more exciting voting for risky movies, rather than the ones we know she will love. I think she might actually like Kill Bill (or hate it!).

Nick Ireland

Uncle Buck and GPB would be enjoyed the most by the ladies

Darrell berger

My vote keeps disappearing too

Choof

Cassie, Dazed and Confused doesn’t star Brendan Fraser. But it does feature Matthew McConaughey in a small, but memorable, role. My vote went to Kill Bill Vol. 1, my second favorite Tarantino film.

Just Plain Bob

Weird- the poll is only allowing me to vote for Gross Pointe and Dazed, no others. I'm not saying I want to vote for those, just they are the only ones I can. Let's see if a few refreshes fixes it. edit- Took 4 or 5 refreshes, but it finally worked.

Mike Lemon

Contact and Bill and Ted ‘s Excellent Adventure get my vote.

Anita Stevens

I think you will both LOVE Grosse Pointe Blank!

Rosanne Stewart

Thanks Cassie for letting us have multiple choice. It would have been so difficult to have picked just one.

Jake McNulty

Pulp Fiction is tough for reactors because the glory is entirely in the dialogue

Rob Farley

Django is one of my tops! Did you enjoy it?

Philip Alan

I'm lobbying for the top 3 voted films in a week,what a good list..Go Grosse Pointe Blank & Uncle Buck & Bill & Ted!♡

Celeste McAllister

Really hope kill Bill doesn't come out on top. Very overrated and the others are so good. Grosse Point and B&T got my vote! Happy New Year to the entire bucket of Popcorn 🍿!

Mike H

Happy New Year everyone! Normally, Kill Bill would get an instant vote from me. I honestly don’t think Cassie would really enjoy it though. Maybe I’m wrong

Robert da Spruce

Notable fact about Uncle Buck (1989) is it features Macauley Culkin in the cast, just one year before he became famous in Home Alone (1990). It was him being in Uncle Buck (1989) that helped win him the role of Kevin McCallister!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I think Carly would probably like everything except Kill Bill and maybe Dazed and Confused, but I think the one she might like the most is Grosse Pointe Blank, followed by City Slickers. So that gets my votes!

Alex Ch

I think of these Pleasantville is most like a Carly movie. I'm hoping for Contact personally. A thoughtful science fiction drama from the director of Forrest Gump, Back to the Future and Romancing the Stone, starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey

Choof

See my post on the original post for my recommendations

Brian McGovern

Gotta go with UNCLE BUCK. It's a heartwarming story that Cassie would love, and who doesn't like John Candy?

Steven Perez

Kill Bill is winning already? While it is a unique film, it isn’t a classic or a must watch like Dazed and Confused or Bill & Ted. Contact is science fiction gold.

Jerrod Acree

i watched pulp fiction on the channel....struggled....i have seen inglorious and Django off the channel

Cassie

Likewise my votes disappearing

R Harper

I am shocked that she went ahead and put the extra choices on the poll. Ergo, I will be crushed that Grosse Point Blank loses, and greatly annoyed should Kill Bill win. Such are PiB polls! They can elevate you to the highest heights or squish the life out of you! 😂😂😂

Mike LL

She watched Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Tim Raths

Meh. Quite underwhelming IMO. Don't have a dog in this fight in the least bit, which may be good from time to time. Hopefully the 51-100 poll will be a bit more exciting.

Shehab Dawoud

The one that’s going to win is the one she’s going to dislike the most.

Alex Gorell

Carly would probably like Dazed & Confused & Bill & Ted. Maybe Contact?

Bryan Lennicx

I vote Contact with Uncle Buck a close second. You and Carly will love both, but especially Uncle Buck. It's a lot of fun.

TigerDelta

Wiggle. Your. Big. Toe!

Philip Alan

definetly UNCLE BUCK but GROSSE POINT BLANK is something Cassie would enjoy.

Anthony Perez

City Slickers still stands up. It's so good.

Tell your dog I said Hi

My vote keeps disappearing...

Jeff Rogers

You may have forgotten Pulp Fiction, but I bet Cassie hasn't!

Future Boy

A woman slashing everyone up like Japanese anime is leading!

Michael J

When you pulled out Dazed and Confused, I was amazed. But when you pulled out Bill and Ted, I was heartened. I would vote for that movie 1,000 times if I could.

Jackson Harper

I think as a gift to Cassie, we should vote for the movie she’d love the most 😁😁😁

Above Average Dave

I have my guess about what wins.

ContrabandDonut

Kill Bill and it ain't close

William Bryan

Has Cassie watched any Tarantino? Have i forgotten something? Could Kill Bill be the first?

Rob Farley

Can't believe you haven't seen Kill Bill yet. So many good choices but...gotta go KB.

nick bell

Carly would love Uncle Buck! Probably Bill and Ted too.
