[YT Edit] Edward Scissorhands

Still waiting on "Jingle All the Way" to clear copyright issues... so here is the YT edit for Edward Scissorhands instead. It will premiere a bit later on YT. Hope you enjoy!

Here is the full reaction to this movie.

[YT Edit] Edward Scissorhands

Depp has played a lot of oddball characters like this one and Jack Sparrow. But to see him really act you have to catch his less freakish roles. See "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" or "Donnie Brasco" or to see how he can leverage his capacity to bring a bizarre personality to life see how he portrays Whitey Bulger in "Black Mass". He is one of the few actors known for playing weird cartoonish characters who can really act.

James Melton

Did you mean to post this under the Star Trek 2 reaction?

I adore this film so much, very much a fan of Burton's films with Batman Returns, Beetlejuice, and Ed Wood being my personal favourites. I just love how Burton embraces the German Expressionism inspiration you see across all his films, capturing the surreal over realism, maybe this is why I prefer his Batman films over the hyper realism Nolan movies in terms of style, aesthetic, and art direction. I just love contrast between the very B-52's colourful suburban aesthetic of Lutz, Florida to the backdrop of a very Gothic Revival Castle housing Edward Scissorhands.

Ok wow, (first time watcher) This might be the most drastic improvement on the first movie. Like Terminator 1 vs 2.

TinCan Cosmanaut

Ed Woods films aren't the best but the messages behind then are pretty important especially to the LGBT community. That being said they wouldn't be good for reactions because they are hard to get through

Except for REACHER there is not much to watch. I have been loving this time to rewatch Cassie and Carly’s greatest hits, “For Love of the Game”, “The Abyss”, “Deep Impact”, and “Crimson Tide”. (Full Length Reactions, Obviously.) Why can’t Hollywood make anything as good as these reaction video?

Uncle Phoenix

Ed Wood is an important film although how good it actually is could be debated. I really like it but I don’t think it’s a film you can understand without knowing who Ed Wood was and seeing some of his efforts. Otherwise it’s just a weird film about bad films

Don

I used to kid if like this film. Tim Burtons stuff is weird and quirky and dark which is right up my street. But the more Tim Burton films you see you realize they are pretty much all the same. I know directors have their own styles but normally there’s enough going on to set each film apart. But not with Burton. I gave up completely when Sweeney Todd was released. Couldn’t be bothered with another Tim Burton film with Johnny Depp and Hellen Bingham Carter. But as always I enjoyed watching along with Cassie.

One would hope that Cassie remembers the Lord Marbury remedy from the first twenty seconds of this West Wing clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAnwYfEUtLw

Just for the holidays, consider turning your body into a hostile environment for germs by having a glass of Scotch each night.

Bert Towle

Not a big Tim Burton fan but this is one my favorites of his. I like Sleepy Hollow a lot too.

Richard Maurer

Cassie still has yet to watch Dianne Wiest’s two Oscar winning performances which are Hannah and Her Sisters and Bullets Over Broadway but I’m not sure she will ever watch any Woody Allen.

Jason Dolan

Cassie, you also saw Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow.

Dan M

RIP Alan Arkin... And Vincent Price for that matter..

Jeff Rogers

Plan 9 is not very long, but unless you are paying very close attention to catch all the ridiculous mistakes they just left in and enjoy laughing at those, you'll find the movie painfully boring.

Stranger2Reality

Big Fish (2003) is Tim Burton’s masterpiece. Hopefully Cassie will react to it

Jay

If you didn't enjoy it, then tough sit! :-) :-)

Happy Hanukkah

I'm imagining Winona Ryder working with Hitchcock. It doesn't quite compute. :-) (Unnecessary clarification: Not that you were remotely implying this, obviously.)

Happy Hanukkah

This is probably Tim Burton's best film in all honesty. His own spin on Frankenstein's monster but also his lonely childhood was a big inspiration as well. Vincent Price (who is a horror legend) played the inventor. Cassie, you need to check out some of his movies for Not Too Scary Halloween next year. Also, I was hoping you recognized Bill (Alan Arkin) as the grandpa from Little Miss Sunshine.

OneManReactionFaction

I didn't and I still enjoyed ED WOOD. I've seen it since and it's a tough sit.

Stick Figure Studios

Burton's like Hitchcock in that he loves blondes.

Stick Figure Studios

Another example of which is Big Fish (2003), which has a devoted following. (It has Albert Finney, whom Cassie saw in Scrooge and Erin Brckovich, in a main role.)

Happy Hanukkah

My favorite Tim Burton as well. Exquisitely imaginative, what they call in literary circles Magic Realism.

Robert Jewell

Should Cassie watch Plan9 first?

Robert Jewell

"Winona Ryder is in this." What? Where? I've just fast-forwarded through this and all I find is some young blonde! :-P (And yes, I know.)

Happy Hanukkah

Great reaction cassie, such a tender movie

ElmSt Reactions

Enough people have recommended it to her that I'm all but certain it will happen at some point.

Stick Figure Studios

I really hope one day Cassie will watch Tim Burton's Ed Wood (1994) starring Johnny Depp in the title role. It is hands down one of the very best films about moviemaking and one of, if not THE best film Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have ever made together!!
