Hi Cassie, a quick "I know that guy from somewhere", the guy who played the Alderman is the same guy who played Markinson in "A few good men." As someone connected to the fire services, I was interested in your reaction and(as always) I really enjoyed you and Carly on this one. I highly recommend, and hope you consider watching, Ladder 49 next. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Mike Carey

Oh the guy has done some fantastic stuff across the spectrum. Big trouble is my favorite I think. But there aren’t many of his films that I hate. Post Disney kid that is.

Don

I like all those movies you listed, that being said, personally I think there are a handful of other Kurt Russell movies that would be even better.

Shawn Kildal

Somehow I fell like 8 videos behind. Need to catch up...

Michael J

Soldiers a good shout as well. I know it’s not highly rated but I liked it. He apparently broke his ankle playing that part and had to get on with filming

Don

I disagree. Maybe not escape from New York. But she’s enjoyed a bunch of 80’s action stuff. It’s also very funny and it’s got elements of a love story and it’s totally silly at times.

Don

Both those movies are garbage though. Big trouble is at least fun garbage, but I doubt it would be Cassie's cup of tea.

Mike Lemon

Soldier 🙂

Björn Karlsson

I think the comments on here are clear. We need a Kurt Russell poll. Of which Big trouble in little china and escape from New York must win. But there are so many other great films he’s done as well. Even the not so good ones like tango and cash would be fun

Don

Ha!! Oh man, totally forgot about this movie.. ain't watched it since it's release.. that movie was a lot of fun!! Check out "Ice Harvest" '05 if you haven't seen it, pretty good crime/comedie story.. and Courteney Cox is the girl from friends..

PastaDon

"3000 Miles to Graceland!" Kurt Russel, Kevin Costner, the girl from Friends (forget her name). Underrated movie!

Roger Hagerty

didn't see it .. wasn't a fan ... but I'm glad you liked it ...

mhz

Ahh yes. The movie I ruined for an entire theater when I saw it with my Dad. Love the cast, but as a firefighter couldn't get past the stuff Kurt did and made that known. In retrospect that was mybad and I should've just bit my tongue. And Cassie, I know you love Kurt Russell (cause he is awesome, seriously). Gotta do a Captain Ron reaction. Soon. Kurt is comedy GOLD in that movie.

Brian W

I saw this in the theaters @ a special preview. It was the 1st movie that I think it touched every emotion. I was emotionally exhausted when it was over. BUT, it’s a great movie!

Family Man, with Nicolas Cage s must for the holidays

Doc Larry

And Hunt For Red October.

Bill W

Carly going to watch Scorsese at the cinema‽… before you know it she’ll be watching a season of ‘Tarkovsky & Soviet Film of the 70s’ at some arthouse screen.

Ria Grix

Other must-see Robert DeNiro movies for Cassie: Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Deer Hunter, Ronin and The Score. PS: Carly was mistaken in believing that Axe was played by Thomas Haden Church (We Bought A Zoo). Scott Glenn played Axe and he wasn’t in We Bought A Zoo. He has been in a couple of movies that Cassie has reacted to, though: he played Alan Shepard in The Right Stuff and Jack Crawford in The Silence of the Lambs.

Just Plain Bob

Adventures In Babysitting and Backdraft.. chalking up the Chicago movies!!

Bill W

Looking forward to this reaction.

Stuart Guthrie Jr.

Pretty stunned by the revelation that Carly went to see Killers of the Flower Moon!

Henry Graham

That was so good. Another old Kurt Russel film that is forgotten how great it was. You really need to check out Big trouble in little China that’s one of his best I think. This was kind of a happy ending though. Yes he died at the end but it was more about where Brian ended up I think. He finally conquered his trauma and he was in the place he always wanted to be in the end.

Don

Cassie, Brian was played by William Baldwin (the 3rd oldest- Daniel, Alec, William, Stephen). He played himself in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And you know "Axe" (Scott Glenn) from The Right Stuff , The Hunt For Red October and Silence of the Lambs. And you know "Ronald" (Donald Sutherland- Keifer's father) from Hunger Games, A Time To Kill, The Italian Job.

Bill W

Another movie that handles firefighters with more of a twist is frequency. With the excellent Dennis quaid and Jim Caviezel. I promise you’ll both like it

LDC7080

Brian was played by William Baldwin, aka Alec Baldwin's younger brother.

Jason Jardine

I was deathly ill with strep throat after returning from Washington D.C., and you ladies brightened my day. It was six days with no food. Absolutely ruthless bout with the flu.

Godfather movie references always Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Doc Larry

Hi Cassie, just wanted to remind you of Secretariat. It’s excellent. Also a cool 90s action movie is the peacemaker. It’s got George Clooney and Nicole Kidman.
