Oh yes, this is a good suggestion imo.. Was surprised how much I enjoyed it.. didn't think I was gonna as much as I did.. The type of character Sandler played was so different from the stuff he had done previously.. So, wasn't sure what to expect, but turned out to be really good.. imo..

A good heist movie with Salma Hayek is “Into the Sunset” with Pierce Brosnan, Woody Harrelson, and Naomi Harris (Daniel Craig’s Moneypenny).

Now it's time for Spanglish, Cassie.

Here is a couple of sweet, funny clips of Matthew Perry on The Graham Norton Show in 2016, with Miriam Margolyes and Gemma Arterton. The show paid tribute to him on the very next episode after his death.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOxN5Kxcb3M and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F186jg6MsGQ

If you enjoy Matthew's charm in this movie, I think you'll also like a romantic comedy called "Mannequin" (1987). The performance from Andrew McCarthy reminds me of Perry's sweet & wholesome charm. And Kim Cattrall and James Spader also give hilarious & memorable performances in that movie.

In all honesty, I was never a huge fan of Friends (I much prefer Seinfeld, Frasier and Larry Sanders Show), but you know what, I did watch it back in the day. In the UK, when it was first broadcast, Channel 4 really gave it a LOT of prime broadcasting slots. As a result, by the time they were filming the fourth season finale in London, it was a monster hit in the UK. RIP Matthew Perry.

3:21 Chris Bauer from The Wire and True Blood!

Thanks.

ContrabandDonut

She would have gotten to it eventually, but it was prompted by his passing.

Cole Jennett

Was this a Matthew Perry thing or just a coincidence?

ContrabandDonut

That's true, I wasn't even thinking about the rom com elements, which she would definitely like. The other part is there's a lot of physical comedy in that one, and MP's facial expressions and reactions fit perfectly.

Cory H

I know - right ....

mhz

I just bought that movie today! Great movie and Cassie would love it.

Hey Cassie, a couple of things I thought after seeing this reaction. Couple of folks you thought were familiar but couldn't place: * Jon Tenney - Jeff, Alex's friend/co-worker, is in "Tombstone" and "The Best of Me" are movies both movies that have a reaction. * Beth Roderick - A blonde lady (a friend or co-worker, not sure) I don't think there is a reaction that would contains her, so I would speculate that her role as one of the Aunts in TV's "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" with Melissa Joan Hart may be the familiarity. That is just a guess, but what I gleaned from these reaction videos is that I think that TV show would have be in your wheelhouse, and so she seemed familiar. I said in a different comment and many other people have a well, "Three to Tango" and "The Whole Nine Yards" are solid entries that contain Matthew Perry as the lead. Also, you were looking for Rom-Coms that you haven't seen and some have mentioned "Kate & Leopold" with Hugh Jackman, which is probably the most popular of Hugh's. However, there is also "Someone Like You" with Ashley Judd (A Time to Kill, Heat) early in his Hollywood career (just post X-Men), and then a pre-Hollywood Aussie Rom-Com called "Paperback Hero".

Mojo One Thousand

Agreed 100% with this. It's also a bit of a rom com, but just a very funny movie in general.

Stranger2Reality

Been a long time since I've watched this, but he was great in it. Cassie, you'd enjoy The Whole Nine Yards. Hilarious movie with both MP and Bruce Willis.

Has Carly not seen this? It seems like it'd be right up her alley!

Paul Stelter

I will also be beating that drum come February

For Salma Hayek’s best work, Cassie should check out “From Dusk till Dawn” and “Desperado.” Also, “Dogma.”

Just Plain Bob

He was in others serving Sarah with Elizabeth Hurley and three to tango with Neve Campbell.

Carly would have loved this movie fyi the guy that played Alex's father is Mathew Perry's real father.

Forever Young is so good and gets overlooked all the time! I love Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis and Elijah Wood in that. They're great

What is so astonishing to me about his death is how he spent the last years of his life preparing for it. He was so honest about his struggles and open about how he hurt many who were close to him, and he basically just took care of that, saying what he needed to say to those who needed to hear it so if he did suddenly die he would have no unfinished business. Let that be a lesson to all of us. One of the tragedies of his early demise is that he didn’t do more projects worthy of his talent. I’m not sure that watching Friends will fill the Matthew Perry-sized holes in our hearts. I would say: read his book, and watch more movies that make you feel things. It’s beautiful to watch you react to things you love. It’s great that you’re expanding your cinematic knowledge but - life is hard enough you know? Be kind to yourself and share that with the world. P.S. Grey’s Papaya was where I stopped being a vegetarian after 27 years. Something really upsetting had happened, I decided my moral compass was null and void, and I wanted to vomit, so I went there on 72nd and Broadway and ate a hot dog. I did NOT get sick - all of a sudden I felt a burst of energy I hadn’t felt in 27 years and started flying up staircases. So much for the poor cows I now eat. Sigh.

Hey Cassie. Glad to see you get an antidote to October. Please keep Forever Young on your radar.

Happy Hanukkah

Where?

Happy Hanukkah

When I went to NYC for the first time years ago, I made Gray's Papaya a must stop there specifically because of this movie and the way Matthew Perry raved about their hot dogs lol
