Upcoming...

Hey all! Hope you are all doing wonderful today! I didn't want to say anything for safety purposes but Ben and I went on a little trip this past weekend to Mexico to celebrate our anniversary! It was so relaxing and nice to have that time together. We hadn't really left the kids before for more than 48 hours so this was really nice. I think it maybe was the first time we both have truly relaxed and disconnected since starting PiB and I didn't know how much I (we) needed that.  It was my first time to Mexico and any place tropical and I finally understood why people like the ocean! I even went  IN!

Hopefully you have seen the Thanksgiving Movie Poll, if not, go vote there! I also put up a series of HEIST polls for YT members, top 3 will go to a final poll (right now the leaders are Sneakers, A fish Called Wanda and The Thomas Crown Affair. I am pulling for Inside Man! This week I am playing catch up with our DVD pull poll winners I did during the last couple lives as well as Blast from the Past because I am joining the Brenaissance!

I changed the names of the tiers here on Patreon, just a wee bit. The EXTRA BUTTER tier LIVE will be this month on 11/28! SAve the DAte!

Thanks as well, for all your input on how to tackle Star Trek, I think I've got a plan!

Have the best week, christmas music has entered the building, but one more week until tree time I think!

Cassie

Looking good momma! The beach suits you.

Javier Hernandez

I dont mind people leaving horror to halloween as a theme but you should continue the films if you watch the first part and not wait a year for the second part. Just my opinion and when i eventually get the courage to start my channel then this advice i will be giving myself lol

ElmSt Reactions

Apparently horror can only be watched in October, for reasons.

Richard Maurer

Far too long away to do a sequel, never good to have people waiting that long

ElmSt Reactions

If we do, expect that to be in October.

Mark Vaderr

Hey cassie, are we going to get the 2nd part of IT?

ElmSt Reactions

Looking forward to Dog Day Afternoon. Nice vacation pics, BTW. I like Cassie's chassis.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

How to steal a million, 1960s Audrey Hepburn Peter O’Toole, directed by the William Wyler set in Paris, criminally underrated

Thomas Thompson

I have been waiting for you to watch Blast from the Past. Such a fun Brendan Fraser movie. Hope it's with Carly.

Octavia

Looking forward to Backdraft

Don

With the 60th anniversary coming up, JFK would be a good one to watch. It is important to remember that the theories in it are easily disproven nonsense, but as a tale of one man's obsessive delusions it is very well made, with great acting and superb editing.

Dazman

How about 'if the movie wasn't made in east Asia, it not really a GREAT martial arts movie'.

Richard Maurer

I am so HAPPY that you're doing Blast From The Past! It's an absolute favorite of mine!

Lamar Savage

Not sure if you’ve already watched it but Blast from the Past would be a great movie to watch with Carly as I think you will both love it.

Dean Holt

@Happy - Followed by Desperado (1995). edit- Hmm, after rewatching the bar scene, it might not be for Cassie.

Mike Lemon

She didn't say how far.

Mark Vaderr

I'm a massive fan of Star Trek The Next Generation. However, if you don't plan on watching the entire series, then I strongly urge you to just watch a select few episodes from Season 1, then go right into Season 2. (Most TNG fans will agree that Season 1 is slightly painful to get through.) I DO like most episodes from season 2, so I'd be down for a full watchalong of all episodes. (But I imagine others would say that portions of season 2 are skippable as well.)

WastedPo

Went in the ocean having watched Jaws. Impressive , very impressive .

LDC7080

I know you said you have a plan for tackling Star Trek, but I just thought I would let folks know, Amazon Prime has all three seasons of the original series in excellent remastered form available now. I'll preface my thoughts by saying ANY Star Trek making it onto the channel will be greatly welcomed, regardless of how you approach it. Best of luck sorting this out. I know Star Trek is daunting to approach but it is fully worth it. You will realize as you go that there is a lot of pop culture out there that draws from the franchise. Now with all of that said, here are my most(ly) humble thoughts on how one might approach the franchise. My suggestion would be to do something similar to what you did with James Bond. Start by focusing on the James T. Kirk timeline. Pick a couple episodes from each season of The Original Series(TOS), followed by a couple original cast movies from 1-6. I would say II and III - they have good synergy between them. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is widely considered the best Star Trek movie of all. Finally, finish it up by watching all three of the modern J.J. Abrams movies. Don't be swayed by the fact that the Abrams movies aren't as highly regarded as the originals. A lot of that is due to the action oriented nature of them, vs the "submarine warfare in space" nature of the episodic content. The Abrams movies have some wonderful moments. All are fine movies. I still like Wrath of Khan the best. The two main things I would love to see you be introduced to in TOS, aside from the main characters, would be the Romulan and Klingon species and the side character Khan who is integral to the best Star Trek movie. Specific episodes I would recommend would be S1E22 - Space Seed (introduces Khan) and my personal favorite TOS episode, S2E15 - The Trouble With Tribbles. After running through the Kirk timeline, you might do a foray into the Jean Luc Picard timeline, which I think is probably the timeline most modern day Trekkies are most familiar with, but heavily dependent on the episodic content in order to fully emerse in. A different approach is likely needed there.

David Collins

Nice line-up of comedy and drama. Hope you had fun in Mexico, Cassie. Although I must say that Ben looks a bit 2-dimensional.

Mark Vaderr

Well, there are exceptions to every rule.

Richard Maurer

A longer shot would be El Mariachi (1992), Robert Rodriguez' famous debut film.

Happy Hanukkah

I kinda agree. It's primarily a series for the television as the episodic nature is what it was built on and where it ultimately thrives. I did say it wasn't required watching the TV series before the movies. But I think TNG side as they only had one great movie, best of both world 1 and 2, darmok and inner light would have been great episodes to watch

rakesh

And The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is NOT a true Western! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

You look great Casie,I love your taste in beach wear🌊Hot beach tip..Galveston,Tx. My personal favorite...

Celeste McAllister

Yeah, we need to kill this variety thing! Bring on yet another long-ass series to suck up all the time!

Mike Lemon

Inside Man should be top of your list for a heist reaction. Spike Lee directing one of Denzel’s best performances, Jodie Foster absolutely killing it, not to mention, (Canadian) screen legend, the great Christopher Plummer. It’s also a really interesting movie in its structure and twisty plot. Tense and funny.

Jacob King

Happy anniversary! You went in? Beyond the knees? 😃 Christmas is already around the corner. Here, malls have already put on their decoration and music selection after All Saints' Day as usual, and shops started selling the typical Hungarian Christmas candy, szaloncukor (chocolate covered candies filled with jelly, marzipan, coconut, etc. and individually wrapped in colorful papers; we use them as eatable decoration on the Christmas trees): https://youtu.be/GICGm205tmg Cassie, after the trip, would you be in the mood for a Mexican themed movies poll? A few suggestions: to my surprise THE MEXICAN (2001), a crime rom/com with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts is not among the watched movies. THREE AMIGOS (1986), a classic spoof of westerns, featuring Steve Martin. Or FRIDA (2002), a biopic of the artist Frida Kahlo, played by Salma Hayek. I've been meaning to watch this one for a long time.

Gábor Árki

I agree

Björn Karlsson

I’m so happy Cassie is finally watching Blast from the Past. Cassie is going to love it. I adore this movie so it was one of the first I requested when I became a patron. I just wish Cassie would mention where she watches these movies (DVD, Netflix, Prime etc) as the Prime version of this movie has a slightly longer run time than the DVD due to extra scenes. I own it on Prime but I’ll gladly order the dvd if needed to stay in sync!!

Luke Godfrey

So I am glad you and Ben were able to get away for your anniversary. I wish you a happy anniversary and wish you happiness for many years to come. I am grateful that you guys had a fun time. You deserve it the both of you. For all that the both of you do. Thank you. I am actually out on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California this week. Then back up to LA. So I am enjoying some time away myself. My dog is enjoying it too. I look forward to watching movies with you this week Cassie. Thank you for all that you do. Godspeed

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Ahhhhh… Mexico! I’ve been so many times you would think I’d know more words than “dos cervezas mas por favor” 😏

Roger Hagerty

Cassie will Superfreak over Little Miss Sunshine. So lame, I know. Sorry.

Shawn Kildal

Awww that's so sweet, Happy Anniversary to you both! From the looks of the pictures, looks like you two had a wonderful time in Mexico, I'm glad you did! No worries Cassie that you didn't announce anything about, totally understandable, though I can safely assure you that I'm trustworthy lol😁 Glad to hear that you finally can appreciate why it's fun to go in the ocean, and congratulations to you for finally going in🏊‍♀️, despite what JAWS made you think LOL🤣 For me, I love swimming in the ocean, even though I have a minor case of thalassaphobia, I guess as long as I know how deep the water is and know where the bottom is, I can handle it no problem lol! If I may be so bold to compliment you, I must say in those pictures, you look really pretty in a swimsuit Cassie, SORRY🙏not trying to sound weird lol😁 Quite the line-up you got going on! Unfortunately I'm not interested in BLAST FROM THE PAST, I tried watching that movie, it was a little too werid for me sorry, but I hope you enjoy it! A DOG DAY AFTERNOON, I've heard of it, never seen it! LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE was a funny and tender movie I admit, but it's one of those ones for me that I have to be in the mood to watch! THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAII, that is a good movie no question, but it once again falls in the category of "have to be" in the mood for! As you know about my opinion of FOOLS RUSH IN, it's an okay movie, but not exactly my style! You need to react to Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis in THE WHOLE NINE YARDS, that's a classic lol! And BACKDRAFT, I've already watched your full length on that one 3 times now and I love it, left you a very nice comment on that reaction like I promised, hope you like it lol😁 I've seen your polls, for your Thanksgiving Poll, I've never heard of any of those movies except for GRUMPY OLD MEN, so I suppose that will be my vote! For the first list on your HEIST poll, it's no surprise to me THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR is winning, though I'd recommend you react to the OG version with Steve McQueen first, my vote for that first line up is RONIN, mainly because it has Robert DeNiro lol! For the second list, my vote is for THREE KINGS, that's a good one, and yet it's being beaten by A FISH CALLED WANDA, someone rigged the voting LOL🤣 And finally the third list, my vote is for KELLY'S HEROES, I love that movie, it's great! Funny thing though, I never classified it as a heist movie, I've always thought of it as a War/Comedy because there's scenes a plenty that made me laugh, but given what happens in the movie, makes sense now lol! Anyway, glad you made it back home safely! Once again, Happy Anniversary to you and Ben! Glad you all got to have some R and R for a while, my vacation wont be until Janurary when my buddies and I go to Las Vegas, NV😁 Looking forward to your YT edit of BACKDRAFT! I once again wont be able to join the EXTRA BUTTER tier LIVE on 11/28, I have to work that day😭lol! Love and support to you and Carly as always, y'all are the best! [virtual hug🤗] God bless you, Carly and your family🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

I've never seen it. Eeeeek. Of course I've heard of it. Just a taaadddd before my time. I'm looking forward to watching that one. Fun!

Philip Alan

Glad that Par Wreck hint last week wasn’t about a terrible golf round in Mexico. Hope it was a great stay! 😊

Steve Holton

That is hysterical. That same group eventually did a series. "The goes wrong show." Every episode is utterly hilarious.

Stick Figure Studios

Couldn't disagree more. I think most of the trick movies are good and I hope she starts with the first one (with a few episodes of the original series under her belt for context).and just keeps going.

Stick Figure Studios

Classic Horror poll is all alone now, but Asian Martial arts poll may make comeback, depending on what's on the poll. Remember, if the movie wasn't made in east Asia, it not really a martial arts movie.

Richard Maurer

Backdraft was something else! :)

Randolph Tirazona

Happy Anniversary to you both!! Glad to hear you are relaxing and renewing in the sun!!!! Hope you have a wonderful week/month/holiday season upcoming. fyi... i am hoping your Brenaisance gets you to do Encino Man sometime soon lol. I think you'll enjoy that one.

Andrew Rose

Dog Day Afternoon: what a good, good movie. Pacino is excellent, as ever. Plus, this is one of the very few films with the great John Cazale.

Herman Orff

Just a suggestion: Dog Day Afternoon should be watched with some historical context. Both the "based on a true story" part and what was going on at the time in America with the protests surrounding the events at Attica prison.

Rodger Johnson

Blast from the Past is funny.

Eddie Perkins

I think "Blast from the Past" is one of those movies most people love, but for some reason, it doesn't get as much discussion as other films from its era. It also features one of my all-time favorite comedic-actors, Dave Foley.

Jimmie V

I didn't say only 3 good movies, I asked that she only watch 3.

Mike Lemon

The best hands down episode from the original series was on the edge of forever.

John Liebling

Star Trek plan: My suggestion watch the TV version of space seed, then Wrath of Khan, before watching the second of JJ Abrams alternate ST universe.

John Liebling

Mike Lemon

I have no intention of a beach holiday, because I never want to know what I’m missing, ha ha. Now you know, and it will be hard to resist the urge going forward.

Cole Jennett

I’m happy you and Ben had a chance to celebrate your anniversary alone together! Looks like you had a wonderful time! Hope you’re recharged because the holidays are coming up. You’re gonna need it! 😉 JK Really looking forward to Blast from the Past!

Robert da Spruce

Sneakers! I am really hoping for Sneakers - Cassie will absolutely love the cast. A Fish Called Wanda is a fantastic movie - very funny.

Walter

First Contact. Also Star Trek 2009. Don't believe the hype - there are more than 3 good Star Trek films (though definitely less than the 13 that exist).

Walter

Ok Ben. We get it. Stop bragging! 😉

JC762

Blast From the Past!! I have a craving for Dr. Pepper now.

Larry Darrell

Blast From The Past is a good one.

Joshua s. Jackson

Oh I love Blast from the Past! Can't wait for that one! A feel good movie for me that gives a satisfying ending that I think you'd enjoy is "Forever Young" with Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Elijah Wood. I come back to that one every so often just like Blast from the Past.

Christian Rennie

Can't wait for Blast From The Past! Brendan Fraser is so sweet in that one I know you'll love it Cassie. Also looking forward to Star Trek. It's one of those things that's always been playing in my house. Hopefully it's something you enjoy and come back to every once an awhile. It is a lot of content but if you enjoy it you could throw in a movie a couple times a year. I doubt we'll ever get any series reactions beyond a few necessary episodes for the movies to make sense since it would be such a huge time commitment but if you enjoy the movies you might want to check out some of the series. They have some of the best character development of any series I've ever seen. Hope you enjoy the journey

Katie Jackson

Wow, Dog Day Afternoon, big dose of culture incoming! Screenplay for that is amazing.

Brian's Dog

This is gong to be a good week!

Terry Yelmene

No, that's not it. It is the one whose narrator is David Suchet, famous for playing Hercules Poirot.

Happy Hanukkah

Mario

Regarding Star Trek. My suggestion would be to simply start from the beginning. Watch a couple of episodes and see where it leads. Maybe you'll want to watch more episodes before moving on to the movies. IMO the original series is worth watching on its own and not just as a preparation for the movies.

Grad

Is that the one where nobody claps for Tink? I've heard that one is good, but I have never seen it.

Mike Lemon

I hope I don't jinx it, but I really like both Sneakers and Thomas Crown (if it's the newer one). I hope they get 1 & 2. Not really a fan of A Fish Called Wanda. I really hope you don't go hard with Star Trek- 13 movies, with most of them being bad and 12 series with...looking...about 900 episodes. Please, movies 2, 3, and 4, then be done.

Mike Lemon

I remember enjoying an episode and a half of Miss Match. I'd buy a DVD set, but the odds of one coming out is nil.

Happy Hanukkah

I *love* oceans! They're like grown-up lakes!

Happy Hanukkah

Looks like 3 good movies, can't wait. And when Cassie says that she went into the ocean... Did she go past her knees? I'm thinking at least up to her waist. 😉

Bill Hayden

Happy Anniversary to you both!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Watch The Whale?! Couldn't you have told her that before she returned from the ocean? :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Aw, Blast From The Past is really fun. Thanks for reminding me that movie exists, will be good to watch again.

YodatheHobbit

So good to hear that you were able to unwind a bit and spend some good time with Ben (Happy Anniversary you two!). As usual, a great looking lineup on both fronts, and happy to hear you have a plan in place for Star Trek - any Star Trek is better than no Star Trek in my book. You're the best, and you keep on proving it. You did go into the ocean past your knees this time, right?

Dave

That's one nasty sunburn. The PO box will be filled with aloe vera shipments. :-) And such dilated pupils on a sunny beach? Was he having TOO much of a "good time"? 👀

Happy Hanukkah

Well let's not get carried away, pun not intended. But her pinky toe was almost completely submerged! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Blast From the Past, a nice little Brendan Fraser gem released in the same year as The Mummy…a surprise that you hadn’t seen that one yet

JL_83

Glad you're enjoying a well earned holiday! I'm pretty stoked for the Dog Day Afternoon reaction. That one might be a sleeper hit for you I am hoping. It is a very intelligent and well crafted film.

Johnny Liu

Hope Cassie can watch The Whale sometime. Youu need to watch the culmination of the Brenaissance. Im happy that you both managed to grab some alone time together. Short breaks are underrated. They really do help decompress and relax! I'm not one for a beach holiday but those blue skies and sea look amazing.

rakesh

Don't watch Inside Man. It's not ripe yet.

Happy Hanukkah

The only successful Star Trek adventure ends with reacting to The Next Generation. The soul of Star Trek has never been in the movies. Wishful thinking I know.

Andrew Ramos

You are going to love Blast From the Past

Neill Shaughness

Glad y’all could get away- ya deserve it.

Jason Pratt

So glad you had a great time in Mexico and that you got to take the well deserved break of all breaks! The pic with Ben though. 😅 Stacked Upcoming! 👏

kaiielle

Hehe, Blast From the Past is a perfect Cassie movie. Looking forward to it.

JayF

Chip up the nose time 😁

rakesh

"The Searchers".

Bill Maurer

In the ocean? Above your ankles!?! 🦈🐟🐠🐡🦑🐙

Jon Johns

Ben got very red! He must've forgotten the sunblock!

Scott Curry

Full marks for the perfectly trimmed beard.

Above Average Dave

Inspired by Cassie's recent collab with Kaiielle on Hook: I'm not holding my breath for a reaction, but I highly recommend y'all watch the comedy Peter Pan Goes Wrong (2016). It's a filmed one-hour play-within-a-play in which an "amateur theatre troupe" tries to stage a production of Peter Pan, but everything... well, goes wrong.

Happy Hanukkah

I predict "Blast from The Past" will be one of Cassie's new fave RomComs. Also, peak Walken.

Above Average Dave

Ok Ben is a whole snack let’s admit this

Neil Varma

Alan Arkin won a Supporting Actor Oscar for Little Miss Sunshine. He received his first of four Oscar nominations with a Best Actor nomination for 1966's THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING and I should really get to suggesting that 1960's Cold War comedy for this channel!

Mike LL

YESSSS I love Blast from the Past!!! I hope other reactors see you react to it and add it to their list lol

AGBmom

I kind of want Inside Man to win the poll just to see her confused face during the opening credits.😂

Caomhan84

Amen

Bill Maurer

A Fish Called Wanda is winning over Inside Man?? Wow, something is very wrong.

Aaron Mann

Yeah, SNEAKERS would be my pick from that bunch.

Stick Figure Studios

Get in line.

Stick Figure Studios

You said it, brother!

Mike LL

Oh wow what a week

aarswft

Love me some Alicia Silverstone. Still have all her Batgirl pics on my hard drive 🤣🤣🤣

William Bryan

BLAST FROM THE PAST is cute and I know you will enjoy LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (it's a funny, sweet indie gem), but the film I'm most excited about this week is DOG DAY AFTERNOON. One of the best American movies of the 1970s featuring terrific direction by the great Sidney Lumet (12 ANGRY MEN) with a slambang performance by a young Al Pacino and the great John Cazale (Fredo from THE GODFATHER) who was taken from us way too soon. Very interested to see which movie wins the heist poll (my vote would be for SNEAKERS) and very curious to hear what your plan is for Star trek. Looking forward to that as well. Glad you got to have some relaxing time. Hope Ben did too. He certainly looks like he did. As always, keep up the good work. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

I've been looking at Blast from the Past in the top 100 on the app since The Mummy got a reaction, looking forward to it 😄

Planner

What a striking picture of you and Ben. I didn't know Ben was so handsome, or photogenic! 😄

Mike LL

Ben looks nothing like I expected Reminds me of Playa del Carmen

nick bell

I became a patron just so i could watch Bridge On The River Kwai! I need some more classics from this channel.

Thomas Thompson

That's a great bunch of heist films - you'll enjoy them all. Sneakers is a real gem
