Fools Rush In (1997) - Full Reaction

Had to pull a little audible on the schedule. The winner from the last poll 13 hours will be early this week, instead you get "fools rush in" tonight. This was such a sweet, charming romcom, how had I not seen it!  It hit especially hard with the tragic passing of Matthew Perry recently 💔

Fools Rush In (1997) - Full Reaction

Comments

Everyone should cry to this movie. It’s super sweet.

Korny

This has been one of my favorite love stories since it was released. Thanks for reacting.

Korny

I am Soo glad there are women of Cassie's calibre in this world

SHANE MARSHALL

Cassie don't apologize for getting emotional and crying. That's what makes you so great. You feel. You have real emotions. The stories get to you. You feel the stories. You just don't watch them. That's way you are a great person. You lead with your heart. Most of us are to afraid to do that. Don't ever change. Don't ever stop crying when a baby is born. It is a miracle of life. Everyone should cry. Thank you for a great reaction. Thank you for reintroducing me to this sweet movie.

Rick Williams

Just watched your full length reaction to Fools Rush In. I have to say it is one of my favorite movies. Afterwards you said it might've been the push you need to watch Friends. I just want to say this, to KNOW Matthew Perry, is to watch Friends, beginning to end. It truly is a master piece of comedy and has love story's thru out the series. I promise, you'll love it.

Block LeRoy

I love this movie!!! And Salma Hayek!!! OMG!!!!

Yann Laliberté

Vale Matthew Perry. Always enjoyed Chandler and Joey's relationship in Friends. I agree with some others that "Three to Tango" and "The Whole Nine Yards" should be put on lists somewhere (I am new here and still trying to figure out what's what here). These have always been favourites of mine for a very long time. I am pretty sure I saw them both in the cinema back in the day, "The Whole Nine Yards" for sure. They both contain actors that would be familiar to you, Cassie (and likely Carly as well), and in fact have seen some pretty recently, outside of Mr Perry, as well as some that are in movies that have been reacted to on the channel. "Three to Tango" has Neve Campbell (Scream), Dylan McDermott (In The Line of Fire) and Oliver Platt (A Time To Kill). "The Whole Nine Yards" has Bruce Willis (Die Hard), Amanda Peet (Identity), Kevin Pollak (A Few Good Men, The Usual Suspects) and Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile).

I'm surprised you didn't know, Matthew Perry was part Canadian, on his mother's side, and he went to grade school with our current prime minister.

At this point, Cassie, I don’t care if you’ve seen the movie a hundred times, we have got to see you react to more romcoms! Especially coming into the Christmas season, I and I’m sure many others would love to see your reactions to movies like The Holiday or Love Actually! Just my two cents!

George Stapp

Backdraft (1991) - Kurt Russell

Greggory Shaw

If she can get passed the laugh track, I think she will enjoy it too. She’s really missing out, imo😊

Cole Jennett

I have LOVED this movie since it came out! It's top-tier for sure! The line you were talking about is ''You are everything I never knew I always wanted''! Best line of the movie! Matthew and Selma were so great together and I can't imagine anyone else in those roles! You won't be sorry if you watch Friends... Matthew really brings something very special to that show. The only other tv show I have watched as much as Friends is Gilmore Girls. They are both like comfort food to watch!

fire12wife

The Man who played Matthew Perrys father in this movie, is his actual Father. Didnt know if you knew that. :)

Aj R

I forgot how good this was. It has that '90s movie feel, but it has a bit more depth than the usual romantic comedy. And of course Salma Hayek was breathtakingly gorgeous and her character was adorable. I first saw this when I was in 7th grade. It made me wish that I had a latina girl in my class to have a crush on. 😂 And even though it has the normal story beats of a romantic comedy, I didn't get tired of it and I still love the ending. Good movie!

Caomhan84

Haven't seen this movie in so long so it was really great to watch it again. I hope you watch some of Matthew Perry's other great movies, like 'Three To Tango' and 'The Whole Nine Yards'. I just know you'll love them too. 🤞🏻🍿

Luke Godfrey

Nice reaction. Did you forget that he was in a few episodes of The West Wing as well? :)

Damon Corrigan

Apart from the obvious reason I like Matthew Perry, I fell in love with this movie because I was dating a girl in Vegas at the time (2012). So all the Vegas scenes from this movie always reminds me of her. I live in New York now and from time to time, I get this inkling to run back to Vegas just like Alex did to go find her. haha. I have remind myself, real life doesn't turn out like in the movies. lol

Andy Eggroll

I have no doubt that you have made a massive dent in the romantic comedy genre, but I'm also confident that there are a bunch of gems just like this one that for one reason or another, didn't pop up on your radar. In one package alone there were probably about 20 that I'd bet you haven't seen, so there is a lot more to discover. I already tossed out a bunch for Tender November but another that came to mind was Must Love Dogs. Watching you fall in love with these new to you rom coms is always a great time. Thanks for another awesome movie night.

Erik Daniel

I was thrilled to see this one pop up. I always enjoyed it. I love Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. I thought they made a great pair. I highly recommend watching all of Friends. I used to get together with a group of my friends and watch it every Thursday night. And there’s no “canned” laughter — It was filmed in front of a live audience!

Juley

Films like this are why I joined the Channel. This was a Treat. Honestly, if you just decided to watch only films like this, from the 1930s up, until you had seen them all… and then watch films from other genres, I would not mind. Fools Rush In was a favorite of mine growing up and I watched it all the time on TV. Remember when HBO would keep the same movies on their schedule over long periods of time. There are Signs Everywhere. I’ve always remembered this part of the film and I think it might be where my belief in Signs began. There are many paths we can take in Life, but I truly believe there are Signs out there, if you are willing to notice them, that are directing us down the best path. There may even be Signs that could Save your Life. 12 days in a row, I saw the time 12:34 on a clock, twice a day. Then I began missing it on the 13th day, and didn’t see it again for more than a month. I finally saw it again on a road trip, stopped at a busy gas station. Just as we were leaving to get back on the road. I had a minor freak out over seeing it again, which lasted about 30 seconds. Once back on the interstate, after a couple miles, the traffic stopped completely. We were able to get off on an exit, and drive down a side road a couple miles to the next exit. Between the Two exits there was a major pileup. I wonder if I hadn’t had my minor freak out over seeing 12:34 again and wasn’t set back in traffic, 30+ seconds, how much closer might I have been to the pileup. Lastly. Yes, Cassie, I agree you should watch Friends from the beginning. That might be why you were never able to get into it. It was such a Fun, Feel Good, Epic RomCom of a show. Surely not as a Reaction, because that would be, well, Crazy right? Although, if you did do a Reaction to Friends… Now That would be EPIC. I turned my brother onto Friends, and got to re-watch most of the episodes with him. That was A Lot of Fun. Laughing and Crying with someone is much better than doing it alone. :-) Thanks Again Cass. PS:: My favorite musical moment in Fools Rush in, was Chris Isaak’s “I Wonder.” This was more than just a montage. It was like the movie turned into a Music Video, but it worked Perfectly. https://youtu.be/mbN-lAra3O0?si=vndaVcn-0HAiK-qy PSS:: Keep an Ear Out for this song, when you finally watch Tin Cup (1996), with Kevin Costner and Rene Russo.

Larry Darrell

Wonderful reaction Cassie! I kinda knew this one would hit you. The romance, the baby, etc…Didn’t expect to hit you that hard though! I definitely enjoyed the movie more this time around. Although bittersweet given Matthew’s untimely passing 😢 Also, 17 again = good movie! Not guilty pleasure 100 Grand candy = definitely underrated Almond Joy = Sorry. Can’t agree with you on this one. Don’t really like coconut 😊

Robert da Spruce

Wow. Having seen this before, I may have thought that Cassie would cry watching it; however I had NO IDEA that I was going to cry. Man it hits different, when you know you can never meet him or ever talk to him. (I know I was never going to meet him, but still) “R.I.P. Mr. Perry.”

Uncle Phoenix

Dan in Real Life was such a good movie.

Uncle Phoenix

To quote Kevin Costner in another rom com you loved, "my heart leapt" when I saw this pop up.

Erik Daniel

Interesting. Do you think there’s gonna be a flurry of Matthew Perry movie reactions? Cassie’s is the first one I’ve seen.

Robert da Spruce

Dan in Real Life is one of my favourites too! It is my favourite large family dynamic type movie. Sadly she’s seen it pre-channel😔

Cole Jennett

Huge Matthew Perry fan from Friends, but never seen this one. I just finished it with you. There is absolutely nothing in my eye.

Philip Alan

This was a top tier reaction! You are at your best imo, when reacting to this type of movie.😊

Cole Jennett

This is a total gem! RIP Matthew. Thanks for this one, I always liked it. Another RomCom you might have missed that I like, too, is Dan In Real Life. I think you might like it.

Christian Rennie

I have a feeling that is the one every "reactor" is going to watch. I would prefer her to wait at least six months on it and space everything out.

Mike Lemon

It's very sad we lost such a funny and talented actor too soon, RIP Matthew Perry! I've only seen a few episodes of FRIENDS, never really got into it though! I've only seen this movie once, it was okay, I'm just not that into romcoms, sorry! I only watched it because I had a huge crush on Salma Hayek, she's gorgeous and a great actress! As for Matthew Perry, there's two movies that he did that I laugh at every time I watch them, both I highly recommend you react to; ALMOST HEROES and THE WHOLE NINE YARDS, they're great and entertaining movies, in my opinion! No spoilers, ALMOST HEROES is a comedy sattire taking place during the time when Lewis and Clark traveled across the country to discover the Pacific Ocean, Perry plays like some kind of rival to them, and he teams up with none other than Chris Farley (TOMMY BOY) who plays a dimwitted frontiersman guide, the dynamic between Perry and Farley is hilarious! No spoilers again, THE WHOLE NINE YARDS stars, besides Perry, Bruce Willis, Michael Clark Duncan (THE GREEN MILE), Amanda Peet (IDENTITY), and Natasha Henstridge (SPECIES) It's a Crime/Comedy that will keep you guessing on the edge of your seat, while at the same time make you laugh and with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure, plus a portion of the movie takes place in Montreal, Quebec lol! I promise you, you will love this movie when you get around to it! The chemistry between Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis is just perfect! Anyway, maybe I'll get around to watching you react to this movie, I just have to be in the mood for it! Have a great and happy Monday Cassie, hope you're Dad is doing well and had a speedy recovery, the Autism Speaks walk I did on Saturday for your little sister and for all families with children who have Autism was very fun, I did 5 laps lol! I'll send you the pics when I get a chance! Love and support always Cassie, God bless you, Carly and your family🥰🤗😁😉😇🙏👍🌹💙

Wesley White

one of my favorites of Matthews also hisreal dad plays rhis dad in this. you have to watch The Whole Nine Yards.. for me some of his all time best comedic work.. And it's got Bruce Willis.. It's a lot of fun. As for all the plates, he's also responsible for figuring out what kind of "food" will be served at the club. He took a bite and wrote notes on it. So I'm assuming that's what he was doing.

Ryan Towell

If you’re up for another Matthew Perry movie Cassie. May I suggest The Whole Nine Yards. It’s a comedy co starring Bruce Willis

Robert da Spruce

First, 10 plates? - Good question! When Cassie's upper lip gets caught in her smile and she whispers she has goose bumps... then, when things get so uncomfortable, all Cassie can do is hold enough breadth that... her cheeks look like she's got a softball in her mouth... and Cassie realized there was going to be a 'Bad Montage'... finally, >>tears<< for a lost baby.... AN emphatic "NO!... (and a birth [and wedding])... well there are "reactions" and then there is... "THIS CLASSIC!"

Terry Yelmene

So glad you chose this movie out of the choices available for Matthew Perry. Definitely fits Tender November the best! Looking forward to getting a chance to watch it with you😊

Cole Jennett

This is a great MP movie, although if I'm being honest, this one is way more about Selma Hayek for me. MP is great in it, but they don't let him really open up the way they do in "The Whole Nine Yards" - his best movie, imo. His comedic timing and delivery in that is impeccable. He does the whole "cute, nerdy, terrified but brave hopeless romantic all at once" thing and sells it all to perfection. Terribly under-appreciated movie. The scene in this one where Hayek gets mad at him and tells him off in Spanish is super relatable for me, and very well done. I dated a Filipina for a few years, for whom English was her second language, although her English was excellent. But whenever I got on her bad side, she went first language on me fast and hard and it was a sight to behold. To this day I still have no idea what exactly she was saying but I sure got the point.

David Collins

So glad you finally got to this one Cassie. Although the reason you watched It now is sad(RIP Mathew Perry)😥 I'd love to see you react to friends though. I actually think I recommended Fools Rush In awhile back with a list of Rom Coms that you hadn't seen. I still recommend Nine Months with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Robin Williams and Jeff Goldblum. Also America's Sweethearts with Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta Jones, John Cusack and Billy Crystal. I think you'd love both and they'd be perfect for Tender November. P.S. Fools Rush In is one of my favorite Rom Coms but I still cry everytime I watch it. It's definitely sadder now though.

Katie Jackson

God bless Matthew Perry. Wasn't a huge "Friends" fan but my roommate at the time was so I think I've seen almost every episode osmotically. Chandler was the character I liked most, and Perry's timing was impeccable. Having lost friends and family to addiction issues, my heart goes out to his family and friends. So sad to lose good people before their time.

Above Average Dave

Thank you Cassie! love this movie and love your reaction to it. Matthew Perry's comedic timing was always so on the spot but his love for others and his desire to help those who's troubles he understood were what made him the special person that he was.

Andrew Rose

get the dvds of friends, not the blurays or digital. they have extended scenes, and they are funnier with them.

Jimmy Reyes

"Tamazula" "Trambilla!" "Tamazula?" "Trambilla!" I live in a bilingual household, and we do this bit back and forth with each other anytime someone can't understand instructions, or two people are talking past one another. Such a fun, heartwarming film.

Art of Free Speech

Pleasant surprise! I have only seen this movie once before. And that was a long time ago. But I’m looking forward to watching it again! RIP Matthew

Robert da Spruce

I've never seen this one before, I'm looking forward to it though. I enjoy a rom com every now and then. The first movie I saw Matthew Perry in was Almost Heroes (1998). An alternate and hilarious retelling of the history of Lewis & Clark's discovering the Pacific. Him and legendary funnyman Chris Farley were just so hilarious. 😄 It's so sad that both men are gone. 😔

Zane From Canada

the ten plates were for businessmen he wanted to grease the palms for his night club, but he was told they were probably not going to show up.

Jimmy Reyes

His best movie.

Bill Maurer

thank you for this Cassie! best Matthew Perry movie ever! His actual dad plays his dad in the movie!

Jimmy Reyes

Disappointing.

Gideon James

You love rom coms but haven’t seen Four Weddings and a Funeral. I understand nothing 😂🤷‍♂️

James UK

I'm not really into Rom-Coms myself, but I remember when I was a kid, my mom loved this movie and I recall watching it and I enjoyed it. I hope you did too. R.I.P. Matthew Perry.

Matthew Linson

Good film. I was 17 at the time of release and went on a date to see it. Personal fave.

Jerrod Acree

Cassie, how could you have not seen this movie? THERE WERE SIGNS EVERYWHERE! (Smile) One of my family’s favorites of all time.
