He plays an incredibly evil and menacing character lol

I always avoided this one because it was recommended to me by someone who was an idiot. I refuse to accept they weren’t actually an idiot but this was a really good film.

2023-11-04 10:09:12 +0000 UTCI remember when the movie first came out; it was so innovative for its time. I noticed TV shows soon copied the "Momento" way of storytelling, albeit for a short time. TV series like ER come to mind.

There was a special edition DVD that had some crazy menus and such on it that included a cut of the film in the proper order. Watching it that way was so weird, because then the story is very cut and dried, but you can really see how much everyone (including Leonard himself) takes advantage of him.

My experience is that Leonard’s remarks in this movie regarding the fallibility of memory are spot on (I’m talking here about those with ordinary memory, not those without the ability to form new memories). People lie to investigators, of course, but I also found that even the most well meaning people frequently remembered things incorrectly. Thankfully, my work placed a great deal of reliance on documents, so faulty memory was not the impediment to my investigations that it might have been in a less document-intensive form of inquiry.

PS: Anyone that hasn’t seen Kaiielle’s reaction to Smokey and the Bandit should watch it immediately. She watches it with her father, who periodically provides much needed context (since it is VERY much a movie of its time - the 70s). It’s a delightful reaction.
