Coming Up!

We’ve had a great and BUSY week! My parents and grandma visited and we tried to squeeze in as much as we could. We puzzled and ate and hosted and played and pumpkin patched and volleyballed and celebrated birthdays and they left this morning. Never long enough, it’s hard to live far from home sometimes.

I feel so unprepared for Halloween costumes this year. For the first time ever, my kids are not wanting to participate in a family costume, and want to do their own thing! I knew it wasn’t going to last forever but time is going too fast! I’m making Ben dress up with me though still:)

Some other fun news, is that Kaiielle, who is one of our awesome moderators and a reactor herself was in town so we were able to watch some movies together! She showed me Memento and I showed her Hook, it was so fun, can’t wait for you to see those! It was great to be able to react for a movie on the. channel that I had seen but not for a long time!

I’ll be posting our Trivia winners pick list in a poll tonight so watch out for that.

One week until Halloween, this week is totally nuts with class parties and activities, hosting my book club and probably being too ambitious about it (painting a 6ft coffin as we speak) and of course watching movies! Fun busy though to be sure!!

Love you lost boys and girls!

Cassie

Comments

Cassie, I see you holding that BYU foam finger. We're going to be on opposite sides November 4th when your guys come to Morgantown to take on my WVU Mountaineers. :)

Brent Petty

Your eyes are really blue in that pic of you wearing the witch hat.

Clay F

Wow. I went through the entire comment section and found that Cassie liked every main comment except my two and one by Dylan Harris. My conclusion is that Cassie hates me (and Dylan Harris). I should be upset yet I'm not, I just feel like I'm in a very exclusive club.

Richard Maurer

I'm a little surprised that no one did. It's a fairly common joke/meme. It was literally the first thing that came to mind when I saw that picture.

Richard Maurer

I don’t think anyone did. I read your post a couple different times today, wondering what it was from, and I just got it. Harry Potter! I’m slow. I was trying to think of something from Fantasia (1940) after seeing it, but got distracted.

Larry Darrell

Cassie liked everything before and after my post. I think she may be trying to tell me something. I'm not sure what, though.

Richard Maurer

Did anyone post ''Yer a wizard, Cassie''? I don't feel like reading through the posts to see if anyone already did.

Richard Maurer

Nah, we good.

Shehab Dawoud

Basketball Diaries!

Audrey

Curry is the man! And I like that he can go back and forth. Sometimes he is “normal” looking clown and then he morphs into…well you know 🫣😱🤡. They always have Skarsgard with the same look- which is creepy as hell- but the back and forth that Curry does is scarier. Just say NO to storm drains!

Audrey

Ugh my thumbs made spelling errors cause I was walking my dogs

Robbie

one of my favs this month

Cassie

correct!

Cassie

nostalgia goggles were STRONG for me!

Cassie

Cassie you could barely handle The Shining. I think we might get a break or a lot of cover the face moments!

Jimmy Reyes

Tim Curry!!!!! Skarsgard you can see he isn't an actual clown. You can the monster or alien in him from the start. It's the eyes. So he is not as scary. Curry is a damn scary ass clown. Period.

Jimmy Reyes

''After" ? Don't you think that my polls are the more important ones? Priorities, people! ;-)

Richard Maurer

Which IT is she watching?? Tim Curry or Skarsgard? Personal Opinion- there is only one true Pennywise- and he scares the crap out of me!

Audrey

On the plus side, if she can finish IT Chapter One, she absolutely could handle The Exorcist if she chose to do it (long shot I know).

Brent Petty

I'm just saying I'd much rather she watch all or most of the 1990 version vs half(or less than) of the 2017 movie. And the worst case scenario would be that the 2017 version scares her away from the 1990 original and/or the second half of the remake It Chapter Two.

mikethemotormouth

My husband and I have been wanting you to watch the Burbs for coming up on a year now, so excited it’s finally happening!

Lesley

Cassie, the Good Witch of the North

Rick Williams

If you didnt already know, the "man" they put in the Boo Box, is Glenn Close.

Aj R

You're so kind! We had a blast watching Hook together!

kaiielle

It chapter 1 and chapter 2 has so many ch heart. I know it’s a scary movie to most people but I found the friendships is what makes the movies so special. It’s very uplifting to watch a scary movie that has such heart like Goonies, Harry Potter and Lord If The Rings. It gives the same friendship feeling.

Robbie

I'm going on the record saying IT is a bad idea for Cassie. I hope she finishes it, but I doubt she will. If not, no judgement.

Brent Petty

Memento is one of the all time greats. Definitely requires patience to let the movie unfold. Made my brain bleed a couple of times. Once you watch it I highly recommend finding the video on Youtube where Christopher Nolan tries explaining the plot to an interviewer with a graph on a chalk board and the man could not be more confused. And so many disagree with me, but I think Hook is the definitive Peter Pan film.

Blake Evans

I have absolutely no interest in Hook. However, I recently discovered Kaiielle’s YouTube channel and she instantly became one of my favorite reactors, so I’ll watch it just to see the two lovely ladies react to it. Keep up the great work ladies!

Just Plain Bob

Ooh IT

Odd Thomas

After we get a Basketball poll. So judging by that... never.

Shehab Dawoud

Hoping for Memento before Hook. Well, before all (would take It as well) honestly. Don't care for Hook or 'Burbs.

AdrianF

.....and the non-english poll she kind of promised in April 😃

Björn Karlsson

Will she or won't she? Get through It, that seems to be the question of the day. But a more important question is, when will we get Classic Horror and Asian Martial Arts polls?

Richard Maurer

I'm pretty sure clowns ruined clowns. The clowns are creepy thing has been around a long time.

Richard Maurer

Happy that The 'Burbs is on your watch list!

RandyCC

Glad you had fun Cassie.

Stuart Guthrie Jr.

Gee-wiz Cassie, sounds like you had a lot of fun, I only have two grandparents left, on my mother's side of the family! Such cute pictures, that selfie of you with your child and your grandmother I presume, that made me smile! That puzzle is quite impressive, all Halloween themed, wonder how long it took you to get it all put together lol! I especially love that selfie of you wearing that witche's hat, you look so cute and pretty Cassie! If I may be so bold to compliment you, please forgive me if I sound weird lol, you have such pretty eyes, they struck my heart like cupid's arrow💘LOL HAHAHA🤣🤣🤣 look at me sounding all poetic, like I said it's all just a compliment, sorry😇🙏 Huh, a double feature reaction of reactors lol! She shows you MEMENTO and you show her HOOK, good choice! HOOK is number 8 in my top 10 favorite movies of all time, and yes I have the whole movie memorized, if you were to see me and my best friend re-enact it, he and I make a perfect Cpt. Hook and Mr. Smee lol! Sorry to say, I've never seen MEMENTO, but I do know of it! I'm looking forward to THE BURBS, I've never seen it, but I do know that a young Tom Hanks is in it and the late great Carrie Fisher, horror comedy if I'm not mistaken lol! So you're gonna watch IT huh, like I said in another post, I've never seen the OG Tim Curry version from 1990, nor have I seen this recent remake that is split in 2 parts, mind you it's not that I'm scared, the movie just doesn't appeal to me, let alone I'm not the biggest Stephen King fan, though there are a handful of movies based on his work that I actually do like, that includes STAND BY ME! I don't know, maybe I'll give it a shot, plus I'm not scared of clowns, it (pun intended) just doesn't catch my attention much! I know you just recently posted PRACTICAL MAGIC, I decided to sit that one out, not just because you weren't there during the premiere, which is okay, but I've only seen that movie once in my entire life, back when it came out in theaters, and I haven't seen it since, I was a kid at the time and I thought it was just boring! I don't mean any disrespect at all, but if you and Carly liked it and I'm sure you did, more power to you, I'm glad you two enjoyed it, truly! As you already know, I've watched your full-lengths to THE LOST BOYS and SCREAM recently, and I enjoyed both of those immensely! In conclusion, sounds like you've quite the schedule going on, best of luck to you on that! I saw the Trivia Winner's voting Poll, I voted ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, that is a good movie, you'll love it and I'm sure even Carly too if she joins in on the reaction! Making a 6ft coffin eh, I wonder who's gonna pop out of it and scare trick or treaters lol! If I may, some reaction possibilities for next month, while obviously I still highly recommend you and Carly react/watch my childhood favorite movie IRON WILL (1994) I'm so eager (please🥺lol🤣) I also highly recommend a few other childhood favorites of mine growing up as a kid, such as: DRAGONHEART (1996), THE SHADOW (1994), THE PHANTOM (1996), THE ROCKETEER (1991), THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1993), THE CANTERVILLE GHOST (1944), CUTTHROAT ISLAND (1995), and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA (1954) I assure you, these are all good movies, I'm positive you and Carly will love each and every one of them! Thanks for the update, love and support always, you (and Carly) are the best, have a Happy Wednesday, [virtual hug] God bless you, Carly and your family! And as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

Firstly, the 2017 version is not a remake of the 90ies tv-double. It is a new take on the book. A small, but important difference. And second, no - the first version is in no way better than the two movies. Only the the kid actors and Tim Curry as pennywise are in the same league as the movies. Everything else is just small tv-budget and you see it everywhere. Tommy Lee Wallace made so much better movies. It is tamer though, there you are right. 🤔🙂

silverarrow06

If you can't finish it you should watch orphan

Zulfadhli Abd Latif

Got no expectations for you to finish IT. Oh well. You’re still welcome to post whatever footage you do get. So, if it’s the first 15 minutes, we’d be more than happy to watch that XD On another note, I’ve suggested this before but with the NBA season tipping off last night, I figured it’s finally time for a Basketball movie poll. I mean, we’ve had pretty much every sport on the channel except the two biggest sports in the world! (Fùtbol and Hoops) Surely it’s time. I’ve heard you mention Hoosiers and Space Jam but that seems to be it. That leaves great ones like 'White Men Can’t Jump' (1992), 'Above The Rim' (1994), 'Blue Chips' (1994), 'He Got Game' (1998), 'Love And Basketball' (2000), 'Coach Carter' (2005), 'Glory Road' (2006), 'The Way Back' (2020), 'Hustle' (2022). You could also include films such as 'Uncut Gems' (2019) and 'Air' (2023), which aren’t exactly Basketball films, but where the sport plays a big part. You get a variety of different levels and environments with these films, High School, College, Pros, street! Some of them also feature real Basketball players who do a decent job acting-wise, such as Shaq in 'Blue Chips' and Ray Allen in 'He Got Game'. You get different themes such as relationships, substance abuse, facing one’s past, etc. Like other sports movies, it’s not the sport itself that’s the focus. I really hope it’s time🤞🏻

Shehab Dawoud

I believe John Wayne Gacy ruined clowns before Stephen King did.

Tim Raths

Movies I had on a list for Cassie… Clue The Thing Arachnophobia Practical Magic The ‘Burbs Hook And this Poll. I’m Having Fun. Thank You So Much Cassie. I Hope You, and Everyone Else, are Having Fun, too.

Larry Darrell

Methinks you don't remember the first 15 as well as you think you do Philip. I seriously doubt she'll be "fine"

mikethemotormouth

You're grandma looks like a beautiful soul. 😊 And, you're right, it's never long enough. The last thing my grandma saw me do before she passed away was learn to drive. I was 16. 😔 Steel Magnolias is movie you should experience with her. Even if it's not done as a reaction on the channel. (Although that would be a treat) 😁 Good for you for voluntelling Ben to dress up with you. 😄 You guys should dress as Squints and Wendy from The Sandlot, only your Squints and Ben's Wendy. A couple of my friends did that once for Halloween and I could stop laughing. 🤣

Zane From Canada

She'll be fine with the newer version.

Philip Alan

Fantastic plan! Can’t wait to see all!

Mike LL

The full lengths will both be shared to both of our patreon pages but the edited Memento will go on Cassie's channel and the edited Hook reaction will go on mine.

kaiielle

Well, grandma looks like a blast to hang out with. The Burbs will be fun. It, on the other hand... You're a trooper, Cassie.

Bill Hayden

Nice to see you showing your school spirit. Are you going to be Mickey Mouse as The Sorceror's Apprentice for Halloween? Memento & Hook, a very interesting double feature. We will all understand if you cannot get past "IT". Best wishes to you. This has been a fun month with you.

Mark Vaderr

She's said she hasn't seen all of it and it was when she was a little kid and doesn't remember it

Katie Jackson

If you have trouble with IT, I'll echo others and say the 1990 miniseries is a lot tamer, but either way I think the actual *story* is great. The kids in both are great, and the story is surprisingly emotional and for me kind of nostalgic in regards to childhood friendship. That's why it's my favorite Stephen King story.

Drew

She's seen Hocus Pocus. The "already watched" list- https://letterboxd.com/pib1/films/

Mike Lemon

This is true. I was an adolescent when it came out, so I was right in-between child and adult. I do like the film even though I do think it is a bit of a mess. Some fine qualities right alongside some really bad ones in it. I'll still tune in to the reaction of course.

Stick Figure Studios

I'd understand if you couldn't make it through the whole thing. Depending on how far you get through it I'd still watch the reaction to it even if you didn't finish it. Maybe a Patreon Exclusive. Also if you can't finish it maybe you can react to Hocus Pocus. I promise a fun movie you can easily get through on that one but, I'll be happy what ever you decide to do.

Katie Jackson

Hook is one of those movies that if you saw it as a kid you probably have a ton of positive nostalgia for it, but if you were an adult when you first saw it, you probably think it's a bit of a mess. I was fully grown when it came out and for years the general consensus was it was among Spielberg's worst 2-3 films, but then all the people who were young kids when it came out grew up and talked about it like it's a masterpiece. The same thing has happened more recently with the Star Wars prequels.

Stranger2Reality

@Mike Lemon oh yeah I didn't even notice the Scream poster. Since she hasn't seen Friday the 13th(which this year would have been the perfect occasion BTW), I couldn't care less about her Scream reaction

mikethemotormouth

I'm very interested in you're reaction to IT, however like everyone else I must also say that I think the 1990 TV miniseries would be a better fit for you. It's not as loud and intense, plus I think it handles the characters better. But it's your call at the end of the day. I look forward to it none the less and I won't blame you if you can't get through it.

Cody Nelson

Cute pics Cassie!

Robert da Spruce

yup

Riley

Yup original is way better!! (and would be easier for Cassie I'd think!)

Riley

THE BURBS! OH HELL YES! IT happens to be my favorite Stephen King novel and this adaptation isn't bad, especially part 1. It is scary, but you'll do OK, I think. Should also watch the 1990 Miniseries version with Tim Curry as Pennywise. His performance is worth it. And then you should watch LEGEND because it's LEGEND and Tim Curry is incredibly fun in that. Plus Tom Cruise.

Godzilla Jones

"Well that's the poster for the remake." - And it is the poster for the new Scream...

Mike Lemon

I am a patron of Kaiielle.

Clay F

HA HA!! Finally The Burbs.

Joshua s. Jackson

Nah she can handle the original

William Bryan

I'll reiterate what I said last week "You're ready for 1990 It with Tim Curry 2017 It with Bill Skarsgård? Don't think so"

mikethemotormouth

Well that's the poster for the remake. And I remember someone in last week's update talking about how they were there at a livestream and someone else may have successfully convinced her the remake was not as bad as the original.

mikethemotormouth

Did she say which one she is watching?

Mike Lemon

I think that they are both beyond Cassie’s limit.

Uncle Phoenix

Cassie don't react to the 'IT' remake, you won't watch it all or you will spend most of the film hiding your face from the screen, I recommend you watch the original 'IT' starring Tim Currey

Dylan Harris

A killer line up this week! No shame or blame for you if IT needs to be cancelled, I wouldn't blame you one bit if you quit before halftime. Your state-of-mind comes first! Very much looking forward to The Burbs, and a Kaiielle-aboration to boot- yippie-Kai-yay!!! You are the best!

Dave

Even though I consider HOOK to be one of Spielberg's lesser efforts, I'm such a big fan of the director that I support any of his movies showing up on the channel. MEMENTO I suspect you will like. It's another psychological thriller / mystery with a very unique structure. I think a good argument could be made that it is still Christopher Nolan's best movie. Looking forward to that reaction. THE BURBS will be fun. A goofy "scary" comedy from Joe Dante, the director of GREMLINS, that I can see you enjoying. I still have yet to see either of the two recent IT movies, so I don't know what I'm going to do. I may check them out so that I can watch your reaction or I'm a skip them all together. I don't know. We'll see. As always, keep up the good work. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Said that to her from the very beginning in Spring 2021 lol

William Bryan

I can almost guarantee Cassie isn’t making it through IT and I wouldn’t blame her I had to shut it off and I don’t scare easy. The original would have been better choice honestly it’s no where near as scary.

Alex Gorell

Question for everyone- how long until she watches Deliverance if at all? 🤣🤣

William Bryan

Yeah that one was good though not better than the original. I liked the 2006 remake of The Omen though many didn't. And again not better than the original.

mikethemotormouth

The only horror remake that has been any good imo is the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's just hard to top an original idea

William Bryan

Let alone the other half of the remake It Chapter Two

mikethemotormouth

You know what I'm afraid of? Her watching the 2017 remake first will make her never want to watch the original

William Bryan

Exactly!!!!!!!!! The original is so much better. Way better character development and follows the novel better

William Bryan

I think King ruined clowns for most people forever lol

Andrew Rose

Oh OK thanks for letting me know. I don’t watch the live ones so I missed that. That’s gonna be a great watch.

Michael Lynch

She did say on a live, a little while back, that she would be watching that as a Popcorn Pick for November

Cole Jennett

"No promises I finish" Which is why I and others were pushing for the 1990 original 🙄

mikethemotormouth

I make a bet and say she quits after the first 10 min. The original 1990 miniseries she could handle better

William Bryan

The Fly

Philip G.

I wouldn't watch "It" so if you don't finish you won't hear a peep from me. 😁

Andrew Rose

Ok,this is going to be an entertaining week,I'm looking forward to finally watching 'The Burbs' and the 'Cassie & Kaiielle show!'🍊🍁

Celeste McAllister

Oh wow, Hook is one of my favorite childhood movies.

David RedEagle

OH LORD It?? Omg your gonna watch Hook now there's a movie that will cheer you up after watching horror movies cassie my friend

MatthewBrown74m

So happy that Cassie is reacting to Memento. I saw it in theaters when it first came out. If memory serves, it’s based on a short story written by Christopher Nolan’s brother. I thought it was very clever having the story unfold backwards, putting the audience in the shoes of the protagonist and not understanding the events that preceded what we were seeing. One of the DVD releases included, as a special feature, a psych test. If you answered the questions in a particular way, it unlocked the movie to be seen in chronological order. It was surprising to me how well it held up when watched chronologically. Really looking forward to this reaction!

Just Plain Bob

I know this request has nothing to do with Halloween, but there’s a really awesome fire fighter movie called Backdraft. Starring Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Scott Glenn. It’s so good that people call it fire porn.

Michael Lynch

So is Memento/Hook going to be a double feature double reaction? Or will one movie be on her Patreon and the other over here? Whatever it is it sounds like it is going to be special. The Burbs will be pretty neat. And IT is an awesome movie, that I am not looking forward to seeing again, it must have scared me, lol!

Mike LL

Can’t wait for the Burbs. Absolute classic. IT scared me. Both version in fact but the new one has some real scares. I’m not a big horror guy but I still enjoyed it though.

Don

Oh boy indeed. The great thing is that you have enough scary movies under your belt you can appreciate the "rules" of scream.

Jason Fulbright

You're TOO busy, but I appreciate all your hard work for us. VERY cool collab(s) with Kaiielle coming up!!!

Jon Johns

I haven't seen Practical Magic even though a friend of mine wrote the novel. I need to correct that and watch it before your reaction shows up!

Robert Jewell

You have a “Get out of Jail Free” Card from me if you don’t finish It: Chapter One. I hope people are appreciating how far you’re pushing yourself this October😊

Cole Jennett

Thanks for all the content. That puzzle is soo cool. Have a happy Halloween.

Ian A

Just an FYI the original 1990 IT follows the book better and is not as scary. You'd probably enjoy it more

William Bryan

Nice lineup. Looking forward to the Burbs and IT haha. Why do I take so much pleasure in your fear?! 😂
