Comments

Sorry your fridge is haunted. That sucks. Warranty probably doesn't cover that. That's coming right out of your pocket.

Bill W

Indeed it is!

Carol Rocha

I was wondering if anyone had recommended Phenomenon. Wonderful movie.

Junior

“Flightplan” with Jodie Foster would have been an excellent choice for an “edge of your seat” movie. Haven’t seen it in years, but it’s one of those you don’t forget.

Carol Rocha

Gets me every time as well. 🥲 It has so many tender moments.

Carol Rocha

IMO, their “tender” means kind, loving, in love, very best friends’ relationships, unexpected bonds, the “warm, fuzzy” feeling. I say that bc I’ve heard them on many occasions use the word “tender” in those types of contexts. ? Maybe they will clarify so that we can get some great ones in November!

Carol Rocha

Et tu, Cassie. It personally took my wife and I a while to figure out the ringing we heard was coming from our refrigerator when I didn't get the door closed. How about a Nostalgic November film like the first Academy Award winning rom-com - "it Happened One Night" to get out of the horrors. Poverty, camping, newspapers, theft, trains, busses, and even a Kellett K-3 autogyro. Happy ending too!

Bert Towle

Blast from the Past. Dam. Speaking of...lol

pkleo73

Explained the plot to my husband beforehand.because I knew he’d enjoy hearing her fret about the poor sweet boy . Also tender November needs to happen. Blast from the past, chances are, heart and souls, a walk away in the clouds, French kiss.

Nicole

Second doc Hollywood

Nicole

Or, "Love Me, Tender" or "Tender Is the Night"?

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

How about "Tender Mercies" for Tender November?

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Sarah Palin and Tall.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Vanilla Sky for November 😊

Dave Brown

When he sings that John Lennon song 😭

VETERAN’S DAY — “WindTalkers”- (Based on true story of Navajo code talkers during WWII), w/Nicolas Cage, Mark Ruffalo, Christian Slater, Adam Beach, Noah Emmerich. I think one of the most underrated movies detailing the contributions of the Navajo nation in wartime.

Carol Rocha

Tender November -“Sarah Plain and Tall” trilogy-1991 w/Glenn Close & Christopher Walken (2nd-Skylark; 3rd Winter’s End)

Carol Rocha

TENDER NOVEMBER: “Shall We Dance-2004” with Richard Gere , Jennifer Lopez & Susan Sarandon; “Coat of Many Colors” (Dolly Parton’s story); “Phenomenon-1996” w/ John Travolta, Kyra Sedgwick, Forrest Whitaker, Robert Duvall”; “Something to Talk About-1995” w/ Julia Roberts, Kyra Sedgwick, Dennis Quaid & Robert Duvall; “Where the Heart is-2000”w/Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman & Stockard Channing”

Carol Rocha

Tender November: “MR.HOLLAND’S OPUS”-1995 (true story)” -Richard Dreyfuss, Glenne Headly, William H Macy, Jay Thomas, Olympia Dukakis. A must-see for everyone, I think.

Carol Rocha

Wow……didn’t see that coming…..😖

Carol Rocha

“SECRETARIAT” w/Diane Lane (true story) 2010, IN NOVEMBER; “NOVEMBER CHRISTMAS-2010” w/ Sam Elliot, John Corbett, Sarah Paulson

Carol Rocha

Another good scary / eerie movie with John Cusack is “1408”. A good movie for November might be “The Secret Of My Success” starring Michael J Fox. Carly and you would really like this Comedy / Romance movie.

David Nesbit

I would love for you and Carly to react to Fleabag the British comedy series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a complete genius. I think you guys would absoutely love it. It's EXTREMELY funny, also I would really enjoy you watching a dry british comedy for the first time (as someone from the UK)

orangethecolour

Two suggestions for Tender November: the movie The World’s Fastest Indian and the tv show Pushing Daisies. The World’s Fastest Indian is an uplifting true story that’s guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face for hours after you’ve finished watching. I know Cassie doesn’t usually react to tv shows but Pushing Daisies only had 22 episodes. As for tenderness, the whole show is basically one big love story, with some sleuthing and a bit of the paranormal for flavor. It’s a show that’s COMPLETELY different than anything I’ve seen before and I fell in love with it immediately. The trailer for Pushing Daisies: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xmI29UHOuF0

@Barry Justice Thank you for your kind remark. Of course you can call me Bob.

Just Plain Bob

As impressed by your reactions as I was worried 'bout the "Scarred For Life" factor cuz I saw that flik when it 1st came out...hope Ben was able to keep ya from kicking that fridge of yours...

JollymonSing

Loved your "identity" reaction. May be the most thrilling special guest appearance by a refrigerator I've ever seen.

Jeffery Parks

Nothing sweeter than "Raising Arizona" with Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter, when he says to her, "You're a flower you are." QUIRKY • SWEET • COMEDY

Jeffery Parks

Well I think we were all rooting for Paris, but I'm ok with endings like this because you appreciate the happy endings more if you can't take them for granted.

David Conroy

Bob, I always appreciate your comments. Can I call you Bob?

Barry Justice

I think it's a great theme! Here are a few initial suggestions: 1. Doc Hollywood (1991) Starring: Michael J. Fox who Cassie Likes and a fellow Canadian. A tender/Wholesome/Sweet/Feel Good love story comedy. 2. No Such Thing (2001) A fantasy/Comedy. It's a much deeper version of Beauty & The Beast. I'm really interested in what Carly thinks of this movie. She is usually very good at analyzing movies.

Barry Justice

For Tender November, if you haven't seen it, Lost in Translation with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson from 2004, directed by Sofia Coppola. Probably my favorite movie, period.

Justin Lloyd

Please watch Lars and the real girl with Ryan Gosling. Super sweet, tender movie

Lisa

My personal favorite John Turturro role

mikethemotormouth

Official Ruling/Clarification Requested: Cassie suggested that the Theme for November might be "Tender November". What constitutes Tender"? Wholesome/Sweet/Feel Good?

Barry Justice

Cassie and The Haunted Refrigerator!

Ria Grix

Just like real life, we don't always get the happy ending. Awesome reaction as always Cas, these are the kind of films that stick with you.

Dennis L

OK guys we have to push for her to watch "Secret Window " next with Johnny Depp as it was a bundle movie with Identity when I watched them. They are both so good.

Jay SMARTASS

Great reaction! I know a romantic comedy with John Cusack you haven’t seen. Grosse Point Blank. Dark comedy and romance. Highly recommend. October worthy.

Author Travis Adams Irish

I enjoyed Identity quite a bit. It has jump scares but, more importantly, the sense of dread it evokes is considerable. And, to me, that’s the real measure of a good horror movie - a palpable sense of dread. The visceral impact of jump scares wears off fairly quickly. Cassie has mentioned several times that she had nightmares about The Thing. I believe that’s because it is very, very successful in slowly building the tension/dread. It sticks with you. I enjoy a good jump scare as much as anyone, but movies such as The Thing, Halloween, Carnival of Souls, Night of the Living Dead, Alien, The Haunting, The Shining and so many others take their time, tell their story and slowly ratchet up the suspense. It’s hard to execute and often goes unappreciated by modern audiences which expect instant gratification, but the payoff is more than worth the investment of time. PS: I think the ending was perfect. It would have been out of character for this film to end happily ever after. And what’s important is that the ending matches the rest of the movie tonally. It would have been tonally inconsistent, for example, for Arachnophobia to have ended with the doctor’s family being killed. It wasn’t that kind of movie. Similarly, The Thing was all about paranoia and mistrust and it would have been inconsistent with the rest of the film if Carpenter had ended it with a definitive solution to the question of who’s the thing, MacReady or Childs (or neither).

Just Plain Bob

The guy who played malcolm rivers is also in Constantine, which you should definitely watch. It's not even scary, just two hours of sexy Keanu running around being a spiritual badass.

JimJames

Now that's a good movie!!

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

What is the "theme" for November?

Barry Justice

Better Off Dead(1985) is an off-beat treasure!

Barry Justice

3:55 No that's Amanda Peet 5:47 You might remember him as Toby from Gone in 60 Seconds

mikethemotormouth

For more Cusack 'Grosse Point Blank' with Minny Driver and 'Better Off Dead' are cool movies..can't wait for November!🍁🍗

Celeste McAllister

Better Off Dead(1985), one of the few romcoms I like

mikethemotormouth

For another mind-bending psychological murder thriller, strongly recommend Kaleidoscope(2016)

mikethemotormouth

First saw this movie years ago, good cast, enjoyed it very much.👍

Danny (Icarus)

Haven’t watched this one for years. Great movie. John Cusack has some great films. Pushing Tin and Grosse Point Blank are two classics.
