The second one had a different tone since they were an established couple then with a family. As a family movie, it has a very different feel & tone to it than the first movie did.

2023-10-17 16:57:00 +0000 UTCI saw this in theatres when I was 11 years old. It was my first “date movie” & by date I mean seeing a movie alone just me & a girl. I still remember sitting in that dark theatre coming to the realization that “uh oh. This is getting kinda scary. The commercials weren’t scary, they lied to me! I hope I don’t act like a wuss in front of my date and get scared. Don’t get scared! Act brave, you got this!” Thankfully She wanted to hold my hand. I think I ended up squeezing her hand harder than she squeezed mine. At the end? Got my first kiss on the cheek! Oh yeah! I was practically a man. Sure I had to sleep with a nightlight on later that night (in my Star Wars jammies no less) but I had been officially kissed by a girl & there was no going back.
