Upcoming this Week!

Ok sorry this is late, the holiday threw me off and I have had a headache that won't let up the last 48 hours-I know I know, I need to drink more water ;) Happy September! I freaking love September, I just want to pretend to be Anne of Green Gables and drink hot chocolate and eat pumpkin bread!

Lows: I finished Ted Lasso, don't want it to be over. Above mentioned headache. I tried to DIY paint my built in shelves and they look like a 4 year old did them and I also dipped my entire ponytail in my paint bucket.

Highs: I finished Ted Lasso. Perfection. I wore a sweater, I LOVE FALL. I organized my linen closet, what a  grown-up  high!

This week should be fun, with some big names. Austin Powers and Alec Guiness? Same level right?   I kid.

Don't forget to vote in our Animal Poll this week-Ok lots of comments The Revenant isn't an animal movie, that is my bad I guess? I legit thought a bear was the main character. We'll roll (roar) with it!

The Trivia night for Patreon will be 9/19 at 7:30 PM it will be so much fun!

The Butter Tier LIVE will tentatively be 9/29!

Next week is Four Factor!

Thank you all so much for being the best there is!

Cassie

What were your highs and lows this week?

The Bridge on the River Kawai, and Lawrence of Arabia!

Clay F

Open up your mind and let me step inside....

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

The Game is one of the greatest thriller movies, I think so too

FranciscoGios

The Game is a great movie. Makes zero sense, but it's great!

Odd Thomas

Yeah, she said that (starts at 1.41.00 😄) https://www.youtube.com/live/fGn5ns3vSpk?si=OP2JMKP9t2G5x4Ym Well Show me love/Fcuking Åmål had a HUGE impact in a certain country. 😉😉 Hehe I got a few likes from Cassie on my comments 😄😄

Björn Karlsson

She's been exposed to 60's music. So maybe???

Zachary K.

"Undisputed masterpiece?" Uh, I'm not so sure about that. His masterpiece maybe (though not in my estimation personally), but definitely not undisputed... although I'm always willing to hear a good, passionate defense of a film if you're interested in expounding on why you think it is superior to ALIEN 3, SE7EN, THE GAME, FIGHT CLUB, PANIC ROOM, ZODIAC, GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and MANK. Who knows? You might persuade me. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Will She recognize it? She has heard it before… very recently. I hate to say it, but I think music goes in one ear and out the other. Still Luv ya Cass.

Larry Darrell

You got a promise? Here I am glad my post got a like from Cassie once. Oh, and plan B sounds interesting.....or ominous, depending how you look at it.

Richard Maurer

The Game White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane one of the greatest songs of all time.

Zachary K.

Yeah but 'Garn Gyal' is his undisputed masterpiece and should be mentioned before anything else.

Shehab Dawoud

Yeah 🥰🥰🥰🥰 She promised a non-english poll back in April, when she opened my package with that movie + six others from the same director. Sooooo someday maybe. Someday 🤪😜 But I will soon begin with plan B. 😉😉

Björn Karlsson

I truly hope Carly gets to watch The Game with you!! Looking forward to the trivia night!!

Billy Dancel

Far a field...movie not related to any poll. You and Carly would enjoy Gregory Peck in The Big Country.

John Liebling

Or, you know, she could watch movies that every other channel hasn't done.

Mike Lemon

Seriously, you know I always support your quest for a European movies poll as well a certain Swedish movie. Maybe we'll both get our wishes someday, instead of animal and football film polls. Wouldn't that be amazing?

Richard Maurer

Well we are a bunch who are in the same situation 🫣😬😝 You described it perfect, in a funny way. 😅😅 The optimism and the doubt combined 😆😆

Björn Karlsson

Yeah, baby!!

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Earth Girls Are Easy (1988) Sci-Fi musical romcom with Jeff Goldblum & Geena Davis.

Elliot Nesterman

I left out a lot of his films (like MANK, ZODIAC and GIRL WITH DRAGON TATTOO). I was just giving a small sampling of some of his work, ones that I thought Cassie might also have heard of.

Stick Figure Studios

You left out his best film.. GONE GIRL

Shehab Dawoud

@ Björn Karlsson - piggybacking on my begging comment? I don't think so buddy ;-)

Richard Maurer

@ Celeste & Brent - I asked for a Asian martial arts poll for a reason. I don't want it filled up with a bunch of US movies, undeservingly beating the Asian movies that inspired them. Us made martial arts movies can go on action movie polls where they belong.

Richard Maurer

She hasn't even see Wall Street! Wondering when is she going to start Rambo series. Overdue in my opinion. We should start a petition.

John Cranberry

I started watching that one 12 years ago. I haven't finished. :)

Philip Alan

Been waiting for that one!

Philip Alan

The Game!!!

John Cranberry

Idea for Theme week, before Summer is completely over or at the End of Summer… What I did on My Summer Vacation Week Summer Rental (1985) One Crazy Summer (1986) Summer School (1987) White Water Summer (1987) The Great Outdoors (1988) Weekend at Bernie’s (1989) Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991) Out on a Limb (1992)

Larry Darrell

Let's Go! 🏈

Duncan

Don’t really have any lows this week but the high for the week is that football is back! 🏈

Tim Raths

Thanks, Steve! I appreciate you!

Philip Alan

Congratulations Philip Alan! Everyone should check out his work. Amazingly talented artist.

Steve Holton

I watched The Game a few months ago figuring it would get a reaction at some point soon. I thought it was ok, but I do agree, it will be a really good reaction.

Cole Jennett

Highs: One of my photos making it on a billboard in Time Square, NY. Lows: Ants in my car. Cool, huh? haha.

Philip Alan

That's not my bag, baby! haha

Philip Alan

Lawrence of Arabia has some of the best cinematography ever put on film. It was way ahead of it’s time.

Tim Raths

Really looking forward to The Game. The reaction should be spectacular. Trivia Night is on my birthday, and I'm going to miss it, because I'm flying home and won't make it in time! Sigh. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have won anyway. I'll be able to watch some of it by the time I get back.

Mark Vaderr

I am reminded (mutatis mutandis) of Moff Gideon in Trading Places. And if we're talking about voices: "I shall deal with him myself."

Happy Hanukkah

SFS, sometimes I get a little too defensive about certain movies from my youth, that's my fault. But whenever I hear a young person comment on either how long a movie is or that it has too much dialog, I think "so-so". 🤔 P.S. I'm a big fan of your comments, always have been. 🙏

james flack

Stick figure is correct about Lawrence of Arabia. It is ART on film, and won 7 Academy Awards. Another great week of movies....well, two outta three ain't bad. 😉

Bill Hayden

That’s what we need for the next FOUR’s week. "Four from Audrey Hepburn.”; wrapping up with Audrey Hepburn in the 1989 film, “Always”.

Uncle Phoenix

Whoa! Austin Powers, The Game, and River Kwaii! What a spectacular week!

sarCC

Bahahaha

William Bryan

“I love GOOOLD.” -POWERS pt Duex

Uncle Phoenix

I will be so sad if Carly doesn’t join in on POWERS. (Just saying.)

Uncle Phoenix

The first season is fairly short.. the entire series is 3 seasons. With the stories they could’ve told they could’ve made it much longer but shorter episodes.. as for the content of the episodes they seem similar but they vary depending on the character, similar to real life. People go through similar situations but yet still different to them. I also love band of brothers and the story that was told was amazing. It should be required watching for people of all ages.

Michael Taylor

OR Cassie and Carly rewatching Firefly.

Uncle Phoenix

That makes me think of baby faced Michael B. Jordan in The Wire. Then that time when Body got got.

Uncle Phoenix

And I am once again enthusiastically seconding.

Happy Hanukkah

I like this idea a lot. But really only 49 movies on that list of 50. One on the list is actually the Star Trek TV series of the 1960's!

Mike LL

Paging Mike Lemon. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Ted Lasso is way too long, and all ep are same theme. Better off watching for Cassie to rewatch Band of Brothers with her sister

Russell Teo

After you watch The Game, I highly suggest watching The Man Who Knew Too Little (Bill Murray), which is a comedic take on a similar story.

Adam Doyle

YES!

Stick Figure Studios

Dr. No (1962) and Thunderball (1965) would help. Just sayin’

Larry Darrell

The game is one of Top 5 recommendations for Cassie. Can’t wait😊

Björn Von Knorring

"In that outfit, Ms. Hurley may well have been the sexiest human being that ever lived." Dude, I'm right here!

Happy Hanukkah

So-so reaction? I remember her really liking BEN-HUR.

Stick Figure Studios

Interesting lineup this week. AUSTIN POWERS should be fun now that you've seen the Bond movies and will know what they are spoofing. THE GAME is a highly underappreciated flick. It is an excellent suspense-thriller (while also being a clever satire of the genre) from the brilliant mind of David Fincher, director of SE7EN, ALIEN 3, CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and FIGHT CLUB. Also, BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI is a great film and will finally introduce to the channel the epic yet simultaneously intimate filmmaking of the Great British director David Lean. Hopefully this is a gateway to you eventually seeing his masterpiece LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Really looking forward to this week.

Stick Figure Studios

It’s on Patreon, not YT yet, and it was the Extended Version.

Larry Darrell

I repeated a line from that film to my Grandad when I was a kid. The part about a certain piece of anatomy being on fire. I’ll never forget the look he gave me. It wasn’t good. Great film though. :-)

Larry Darrell

After watching Cassie's so-so reaction to Ben-Hur a while back, I'm not so sure she is hip on enjoying too many older blockbuster films. Carly will just hate the Auston Powers' movies, as being too juvenile. Just sayin'... 🤔💛💛

james flack

Kill Bill 1 and 2!

Brent Petty

All looks Good, but… just so you know, there will be a Number of jokes and references in Austin Powers that you won’t get, because they are from a bunch of the James Bond films you haven’t seen yet. I’m curious to see how that will go.

Larry Darrell

River Kwai all the way. One of the top 3 WW2 movies ever. Who can forget Alec Guinness in this epic

Russell Teo

Hmm. It doesn't show up on a YT search, and I don't remember her watching it. But my memory is no longer a reliable judge of reality... 😉

Phil Stubblefield

The Game, great! Michael Douglas, such an actor! Hopefully, you will watch Basic Instinct at some point.

Grégory Gautier

One more thought. With THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI coming, there will be 13 reactions for the 50s, but with only 10 reactions for the 60s it is becoming such a forgotten decade. Any chance to give the 60s some love during the autumn/winter? I have suggested it before but dropping in the idea here again: TOP 50 FROM THE 60s A random draw from the top 50 movies just from this decade going to a poll. 3 poll winners could make for a great theme week as well. Here is the filtered list: https://popcornrequests.com/filters_binary/eyJjdXN0b20iOiIhKG0ueWVhcj49MTk2MCAmJiBtLnllYXI8MTk3MCkifQ==

Gábor Árki

Persistence wins out David💜

Celeste McAllister

Soon as Cassie hears Alec Guinness speak she will recognize him..

Celeste McAllister

Hmmm.... I'm not sure, but I may have mentioned a certain swedish movie a couple of times and a poll with non-english movies from Europe. 🤔🤔🫣🫣😬😬 Please Cassie 🥰🥰

Björn Karlsson

Let's get Lawrence of Arabia on a poll..

Celeste McAllister

It’s so rewatchable! The first season was the best, but imo the best episode was the one prior to the finale.

Cole Jennett

We've asked for a Martial arts/Kung Fu poll..

Celeste McAllister

American Pie is far cruder then Austin Powers, imo

Cole Jennett

Maybe the spoiler notice was for BRIDGE, because your comment is kind of giving away what to expect in the end?

Gábor Árki

Hot chocolate and pumpkin bread sounds heavenly☕🍞

Celeste McAllister

Hahahaha. 🙌🙌

William Bryan

I'm not sure "ho" is really better than the full word ;-)

Richard Maurer

Have I asked for Classic Horror and Asian Martial Arts polls yet? Oh, I have? Well I'm going to ask again! Because persistence pays off (I hope).

Richard Maurer

I get sinus headaches from allergies and find that caffeine helps with the headaches.

Rick Williams

David Freese, it's all in the voice. You can tell they are the same actor just from the voice! 😀👍😀

Mike LL

I know about Roman crimes but back in the 1960's Sharon and him were big time in love. Ben Affleck is actually making a movie about the making of Chinatown called The Big Goodbye. Sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Is that really a spoiler? Doesn't everyone understand Austain Powers is a spoof on James Bond????

Richard Bourne

She’s already watched The Abyss.

Tim Raths

I love watching reaction videos to this series.. it’s is both funny and heartbreaking to watch.

Michael Taylor

Careful with the spoilers Richard!

Grad

Austin Powers is ok as a movie - definitely a spoof so I think she will appreciate it after watching the Bond movies,... Roman Polanski however - Not really a great role model,.... On March 10, 1977, 43-year-old film director Roman Polanski was arrested and charged in Los Angeles with six offenses against Samantha Gailey (now Geimer), a 13-year-old girl: unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, a lewd and lascivious act upon a child under the age of 14, and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. At his arraignment, Polanski pleaded not guilty to all charges but later accepted a plea bargain whose terms included dismissal of the five more serious charges in exchange for a guilty plea to the lesser charge of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. He fled to Europe (France primarily) in 1978, when he found out he would probably get jail time and has avoided coming to the United States and has been avoiding visiting ANY countries that would extradite him to the US for his crimes since then.

ENC SW DV Rush

Sorry about your headache.

Stuart Guthrie

Next Classics poll needs to have Charade (with Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn). She liked North by Northwest, and it has quite a similar feel. (And a great one for a Cassie-Carly watch!)

Nathan

Tbh you can be forgiven about The Revenant as quite a lot was made about the Bear scenes, probably just check out the YouTube edit on that one. As I thought it was way to long and overrated but definitely interested to see what you think. It’s probably a great time for you to watch Austin Powers as you’ve just finished the Bond movies. As it kinda pokes fun at them a little. I loved Ted Lasso and I thought they finished it perfectly also definitely looking forward to rewatching The Game as I’ve only seen it once way back when it was released. I’d kinda forgotten about it so it might be like watching it for the first time again 😂😂.

Dean Holt

Finally Austin Powers, looking forward to that lol

ROBERT CLARK

Hope for a first watch it's the theatrical cut. Well-paced and tighter film (and without some distractingly bad wave special effects that were rightly cut). Save the Special Edition for a re-watch someday.

Nathan

So, Ewan McGregor, right? 😂

Gábor Árki

This series was perfection. Wonderful and a true joy to watch (especially in these too often trying and divisive times). Looking forward to rewatching through Cassie's eyes.

Nathan

Underrated and too oft forgotten film. I remember seeing it at the theater.

Nathan

Beloved wife gets to visit friend in Denver, same lol

Randolph Tirazona

Well let's be honest she has seen more romance and comedy and romcoms then any other genre lol

MatthewBrown74m

Gee, nice lineup of movies! Sorry you have a headache Cassie, hope you get well soon, and hope you got that paint out of your lovely hair, sorry that happened to you! No highs are lows for me this week, same ol' same ol' lol! Well, you are right that a bear is involved in The Revenant, but it's based on a true story about survival and revenge! I put in my vote on the animal poll and made some suggestions of other films involving animals! Looking forward for Austin Powers, it's hilarious! Never seen The Game, but I know of it! Bridge on the River Kwai is a good movie, pretty long, but worth the watch! Platoon was a good, but hard to watch reaction I admit! Still haven't seen Parenthood "yet", but eventually! Looking forward for your reaction to The Abyss! Gosh, I'm having such bad luck when it comes to participating in your Trivia Night Games or your Butter Tier LIVE streams, I work both those days😭 Looking forward for 4 factor, watching the 4th installments! Hope you have a great Wednesday, love and support and God bless you and your family🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

"Bridge on the River Kwai" is excellent through and through. Had to find a better movie out there. Though i will stick with "The Searchers". Austin Powers is great as a Bond follow up and it's been forever and a day since I saw "The Game".

Bill Maurer

I can't watch that movie now without thinking of McNulty from The Wire.

Stranger2Reality

The toliet humor of Austin Powers didn't get really bad until the second one. 1 scene I remember. The rest is just innuendo.

David Freese

Hot as that was black leather is always gonna be number one. It's the color of well, doms lol

William Bryan

What about Elizabeth Hurley in a red leather jumpsuit in Bedazzled? 😄

Gábor Árki

Mike the movies are like 30 years apart!!! 😂😂😂 geez I barely know it's him

David Freese

The Game, she'll be perplexed, but she'll like the ending.

G

She hasn't even seen Bond yet before this year. How would anyone thing she would watch Austin Powers??? 😂😂😂😂😱😱😱😱

David Freese

Bad Santa is such a great movie!

Johnny

I love THE GAME, it is kind of an underrated movie and hope it would make for a good reaction. It has been on my top 10 most requested movies for a while. With THE ABYSS last week, and LETHAL WEAPON 4 coming next week, three from my top 10 in three weeks. I'm happy. 😊 AUSTIN POWERS. Hmm, can't decide how that will be received, especially with Cassie's track record of spoofs. I guess we will find out. Sadly, 7:30 PM MDT is 3:30 AM for Europe, so another trivia night I won't be able to join. 😞 Maybe next time.

Gábor Árki

I'm looking forward to all of these reactions this week - they're all great movies.

Johnny

As pretty as Liz was Mimi Rogers had a way better body

William Bryan

Austin Powers was partially formed after Roman Polanski of the 1960's take a look at his wedding photos.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

At 14, when I saw it in theaters I thought I was gonna go nuts

William Bryan

In that outfit, Ms. Hurley may well have been the sexiest human being that ever lived.

Just Plain Bob

Also: Cassie, we need photos of the painted pony tail episode! 🖌 + 👱‍♀️

Phil Stubblefield

Alec Guinness gives one of the best performances I've ever seen in The Bridge on the River Kwai. An astounding film.

Henry Graham

While many patrons seem excited to get randy with Austin Powers, I personally am ecstatic that Cassie will finally see _The Abyss_, which I think is an incredibly underrated science fiction movie! 😁

Phil Stubblefield

I was worried she’d mistake him for Ed Harris.😂

Just Plain Bob

Oh surely Cassie will recognize him, wouldn’t she? :)

Mike LL

Sorry to hear about your headache. Hope it goes away soon 🤞 Looks like a good week ahead! Feel better Cass!

Robert da Spruce

Not much beats Elizabeth Hurley in a head to toe black leather jumpsuit. God almighty ❤️❤️❤️

William Bryan

Bridge over the river Kwai is a cinematic Masterpiece

zynjams

Before Austin Powers there was if looks could kill from the year 1991 category action comedy rated PG-13,,,! It's a great movie that's kind of making fun of James Bond but one thing I remember for sure that the principal that was in kindergarten cop is the second main villain in the movie it looks could kill from the year 1991

Manuel Villacana

Health and holiday comes first we and myself understand get better soon Cassie 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️

Owen Williams

The Game. I first found out about that maybe uhh 5ish years ago or so! Great movie. Loved. That's gonna be your sleeper.

Louis Chapman

Oh behave! 😁

Zane From Canada

Austin Powers is a funny spoof on James Bond, but it is dumb. Fart humor dumb. THE GAME, very tense, but impossible to do that. Come on, that could not happen. BRIDGE ONE THE RIVER KWAI, yeah, a good movie but heart breaking ending.

Richard Bourne

My low was the long wait for a Cassie update on these week movies. My high was receiving a Cassie update on these week movies. 🙃

Pickupthepieces76

The Game! An underrated film in David Fincher’s oeuvre (imo). It came out between Se7en and Fight Club, so perhaps understandable that isn’t so well remembered.

Wes Stewart

This is a solid line-up of films, I will enjoy every one. Will Carly sit in on the POWERS film as it is a spoof of the spy genre and you two have watched so many spy films together? The Game will be a very exciting watch and thank you for honoring your commitment to watching BRIDGE! I know many viewers will suggest other worthy David Lean films.

Mike LL

I’m a Ted Lasso fanatic… I loved this series and it found me in the best of times and worst of times. It showed us both the best in people and the worst actions of people (Rupert). I hope that when this writers and actors strike is finished they possibly create either a new story or atleast a spin off for the AFC Richmond cast. I would love to see how everyone progresses. I have a working theory from the series finale but I’m not gonna get my hopes up.. I would love to hear your thoughts on the whole series.. favorite characters and episodes. This whole series was one big roller coaster.

Michael Taylor

“It’z Nad A Tuuma!” -Kindergarden Cop

Uncle Phoenix

As you watch Bridge on the River Kwai (an absolutely fantastic movie, btw), keep in mind that the actor that plays Colonel Nicholson (Alec Guinness) also played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the first three Star Wars films.

Just Plain Bob

Getting to watch Austin Powers is basically the dessert after watching Bond

Jonathan Hall

You never saw Austin Powers???!!!!!!! Wait why am I surprised it's cassie! Lol jk jk

MatthewBrown74m

THE GAME (1997). Perfection!

Ramzi M. A. Ramzi

If you can watch Austin you can handle the American Pie saga and Bad Santa this December 🤣🤣🤣🤣

William Bryan

Austin Powers will be………..interesting!

James UK

The Game. Ooooohhhh. Love that movie. Lot of fun.

nick bell

Be well all 🤞🙏💙

Neil Varma

Austin Powers !! And bridge

Neil Varma

I swear it's not mine.

William Bryan

Yeah baby, yeah!

Eric

Do I make you ho*** baby? Do I?
