Just for fun poll!

Just looking back at the month and curious...

What was your favorite reaction in August?

Comments

There were some good reactions to all the movies. The reaction I was most looking forward to was Primal Fear, and that twist ending... Sorry to see your feeling unsatisfied, but everyone "reacts" differently and feels how they feel (you still seemed shocked by the twist, so there is that). However, both yours and Carly's obvious enjoyment of Erin Brockovich throughout the movie made me smile. That had to be my vote for best reaction.

D. T. Nelson

Quick fun fact, *you have probably heard this by now, that the waitress in the beginning is the real Erin Brockovich. Super fun reaction, ladies! ( :E

Didi Portia

I was just happy she recognized it!

Philip Alan

I went with Jeremiah Johnson, only because I absolutely love when people learn the origin of popular memes. After that Erin B. would be my choice.

Daniel Hofer

Definitely Erin B!!

Robbie

Vertigo. Especially that reaction at the very end. Cassie is completely silent, eyes in astonishment and then, "WHAAAT?"

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Gone in 60 Seconds, just for the moth 😅

Nismo

Oh... I'm very far behind and didn't see much of it... not even the ones I most wanted to see 🙂

Mannygogou

@Doug, Make sure you're connected to PopcornRequests.com and have made your requests!

kaiielle

Doctor Zhivago or Million Dollar Baby

Mark Gremillion

Same, Just a really great movie.

Rinzler526

Honestly, I liked them all but I picked Runaway Jury. Have to support a great movie and a great reaction. Great Job!

Rinzler526

I did too.

Stick Figure Studios

Hmmm. Not sure what my favorite was. I always like watching you react to great classic movies like NORTH BY NORTHWEST, VERTIGO and JEREMIAH JOHNSON, but I also enjoy seeing you react to movies that maybe aren't great or classics, but are a lot of fun because they have a surprise twist that just blows your mind (like PRIMAL FEAR) or something like that. Then again, I also love it whenever you watch a Bond film (and I believe you did NO TIME TO DIE this month), so I'm gonna go with that.

Stick Figure Studios

Others seem to have failed to observe a distinction between favorite movie and favorite reaction. My favorite movie and second favorite reaction was As Good As it Gets. I don't like the movie Primal Fear all that much, although I have more appreciation for it today than I did 20 years ago when I first saw it, but it was easily my favorite reaction to watch, regardless of when.

David Collins

@Mike Lemon well I guess if you say she said it, it must have happened and I can't refute that. I only know what she said in her reaction video after credits rolled 🤷

mikethemotormouth

This was hard to pick from, but I picked Runaway Jury

Anne-Marie Curtis

I did. The movie selection the past year plus has dramatically gone downhill. I am keeping membership in hopes things will change. Until then there are other reaction channels to visit.

Doug R

I voted Erin Brockovich. To be fair its the only one I watched

TinCan Cosmanaut

Do I have to mention she liked 300 again? That's more than enough reason not to write movies off just because a bunch people say she'll hate them.

Richard Maurer

@Richard- I agree some can get overprotective (creepily so). Cassie is a lot tougher than people want to give her credit for. I remember last year writing about a bajillion comments arguing with the "don't watch Saw" people. I still say that is a movie she could appreciate a few days after watching it. Fingers crossed for this year. That said, there are certain things she absolutely does not like- nihilistic despair being about number three on the list.

Mike Lemon

@mikethemotormouth- She hated it, she said as much in one of the reactions with Carly.

Mike Lemon

I liked Rain Man the most

Mikey Mike

Lots of good choices. I went with Erin by a nose.

Eric Haefele

That's a huge list of movies to choose from, considering how many reactors just seem to do whatever the more popular ones do - Like all the people doing the M:I series after Cassie did them.

Richard Maurer

I recently watched Cinebinge do The Mist and I started thinking about Cassie watching it. I'm of two minds about it. That movie might be the most anti-Cassie mainstream film I can think of (if you've seen the movie you should know what I mean), yet I would really be interested in her reaction to it. In fact I love that movie for the very reason Cassie would almost certainly hate it, but I admire Frank Darabont for having the guts to make that choice and wonder if Cassie could possibly see it that way.

Richard Maurer

Have we done Weekend at Bernie's? This would be a fun one to see.

Joe R

I did. I liked several but none more than the others.

Richard Maurer

I’ve rewatched that, several times, as well!

Michael McErlain

Her afterthoughts verbatim: "did not enjoy a second of it". This is not the same exact thing as she hated it and she seems to reaffirm that with her very next statement "And I know I wasn't supposed to" "I don't know how I'm supposed to feel but I just feel bad" Well would you look at that? The filmmakers did their job and evoked emotion. "Pyle, Wilson Fisk from Daredevil,...played his part really well" Doesn't this mean she found at least one thing to appreciate? "Is it important that I still saw it? Probably" Could not agree harder "Some war movies they show the hero and you feel inspired...They showed heroes fighting for their country but it wasn't that inspirational feeling...on purpose" And I think that's the way it should be. I'd imagine if all movies of a given genre were so nearly identical, I'd think that would be pretty boring.

mikethemotormouth

@ Mike Lemon - Her not liking a movie and a movie being "too much" for her are two different things. I don't think it matters that much if she doesn't like a movie - I don't like every movie I see and neither will Cassie. And I'm very much against making assumptions as to what she'll like. I'd rather she watch a movie and hate it than skip a movie because some people think she'll hate it. As for movies being "too much", I'd like to think that Cassie's proven herself more resilient than the white knight people give her credit for and this Halloween they'd ease up some on the overprotectiveness. I'd like to think that but I seriously doubt it.

Richard Maurer

I find myself repeatedly rewatching "As Good As It Gets," so none of the options mentioned above appealed to me.

Larry

It was a bit hard... I chose Philedelphia because I think it's the best film... but, Cassie definitely made Erin Brockovich the best reaction of the lot.

Terry Yelmene

But...she hated Full Metal Jacket. So weren't they, and those of us saying it wasn't a movie for her for other reasons, right?

Mike Lemon

None of the Above. Now I have not seen them all, but As Good As It Gets was your best reaction of the month.

Mark Vaderr

I did.

Mark Vaderr

Primal Fear 😘

John Cranberry

Thank you Bjorn

Manuel Villacana

WKB is the White Knight Brigade, the unofficial council of patrons committed to saving Cassie from unnecessary trauma that is destined to permanently wound her delicate and fragile soul. The same people who rallied against(and did not succeed) her watching Full Metal Jacket last year

mikethemotormouth

but it's perfectly OK for retailers to go full on Christmas on Nov 1? F*** that lol

William Bryan

Awesome idea btw 😁

Björn Karlsson

OK, William Bryan, I will be glad to tell you that the horror DOES NOT start next week, since next week will be September, not October.

Mike LL

Btw I'm promoting the swedish movie Show me love. There is a couple of movies with that name 🙂

Björn Karlsson

There are a couple full versions up on YouTube.

Mike Lemon

Definitely Gone in 60 Seconds. I can't stand Julia Roberts, so that one is out. Philadelphia was OK, and while I like the few Hitchcock movies I've seen, I haven't watched those two reactions yet.

Mike Lemon

Thank you 😊🍿

Manuel Villacana

Check both 😉

Björn Karlsson

Haven't seen that one I'll have to check it

Manuel Villacana

Right

Manuel Villacana

....and Show me love 🥰

Björn Karlsson

@mikethemotormouth- "But thank heavens for the WKB..." I don't know what that means, but Saw only has a few seconds of gore. I want to say 14 seconds, but I don't remember the exact number.

Mike Lemon

Kindergarten Cop falls under this, right? That's my fave this month

Mike Adams

She could just watch Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995)!

Mike Lemon

Philadelphia but mainly because of what it meant to me personally and how beautiful your reaction was.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I don't recall a poll with Collateral but I highly recommend it!

Oisin Clissmann

was there a poll with collateral (tom cruise and jamie foxx) in it or am i bugging?

TC Elba

As Coach Mike Tomlin of the Steelers once said "Never say never, but Never"

Shawn Kildal

She could handle the original TCM and 2003 remake of it. She was gonna watch Saw last Oct for crying out loud

William Bryan

But not TCM Not yet anyway Also inspired by, not based on

mikethemotormouth

North By Northwest! I hope it got you into Cary Grant. Some of his bests include THE PHILADELPHIA STORY(co-starring Jimmy Stewart), HIS GIRL FRIDAY, NOTORIOUS(another Hitchcock romance-thriller, co-starring Ingrid Bergman), CHARADE, and TO CATCH A THIEF(another romance from Hitchcock, co-starring Grace Kelly).

sarCC

Just bite the bullet and watch Strangeland then 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Teenagers, not kids, and no demons lol

William Bryan

Well she watched Silence of the Lambs and Psycho, both based on Ed Gein so.....

William Bryan

Worship THAT?! NEVER!

William Bryan

"He's a tight ass! He's a sadist!" Pacino makes a compelling argument at the end of that movie lol I remember watching that opening day in theaters and was laughing and cheering during that scene.

Stranger2Reality

@William Bryan she has sworn she'll never do The Exorcist so I don't see that one happening anytime soon, if ever 😔 Also she's said numerous times the two things that scare her most: true horror stories and/or horror stories involving kids. So again, not holding my breath on Conjuring 😔 As for Saw? I'm not sure how close she was to actually watching it, might have been more like testing audience interest. But thank heavens for the WKB that saved her from the 5, maybe total 8 min of onscreen gore

mikethemotormouth

I wonder if Cassie would ever have a poll what movies that haven't been reacted to by YouTubers yet,,

Manuel Villacana

Gone in 60 seconds

Manuel Villacana

Really you can't go wrong with any of your reactions. I loved them all.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

My August has been so busy! I haven’t had time to watch most of them. Eeeeek! So I can’t properly vote! I may or may not catch up!

Philip Alan

I seem to be with the majority in voting for EB, so perhaps it might also be useful for you to know that I also very much enjoyed your reactions to Philadelphia and the two Hitchcocks.

jdj830

Take a great film with a well grounded story add Carly into the mix, you've got 'Erin Brokovich',I'd love to nominate EB as the best, most emotional reaction of them all! I love a story about real people in real life situations.

Celeste McAllister

I think that Cassie's reaction to Vertigo is exactly the reaction old Alfurd Hitchcock would have loved, and that makes it my favorite reaction.

Dave

Didn't watch any of the listed reactions

warcrimes

Vertigo was my Favorite, but it looks like You’re never gonna find a way to please everybody with these results…. Unless maybe we watch more Julia Roberts. Steel Magnolias (1989) anyone?

Larry Darrell

It would actually be hard to choose between Vertigo and North by Northwest, but I chose Vertigo. Both great!

Mike LL

North by Northwest

Shawn Kildal

Of the ones I've seen I most enjoyed the gone in 60 secs reaction... But bear in mind I've not seen any for a week. Still alive btw!

James Moy

No Time to Die but it's not on the poll.

Brad P

Please tell me that this year’s Scary But Not Too Scary will include at least a few movies that are marginally scary…

Just Plain Bob

I kinda feel like it must be Vertigo, simply because of that ending. What was that, about 60 seconds of awkward silence? 🤣

Bryan Fritchie

Please tell me the horror starts next week....

William Bryan

I did...but only because I didn't watch any of them - none of them are my kind of movie.

Damon Corrigan

I'm team Erin✌

Celeste McAllister

I was most anticipating the reaction to No Time To Die.

Paul

You had a really, really good month of reactions.

Matt Rose

Full disclosure, I haven’t seen all the reactions but Erin B was the best one I saw!

Peter Guertin

I'm curious to see how many people vote for "None of the above" 😅
