ooorrdddeeeerrrr in the court!

I’ve said it once, i’ll say it again-I love a theme! I decided to do the top 3 courthouse movies for WITNESS week!! I’m giddy about it! Some of my favorites have been courtroom/investigative dramas!

To be honest, it’s been a rough/stressful week for me! My son was sick and ended up in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Everything went well and he’s recovering so quick but anytime your kids are hurting, and in a hospital it ramps up a mom’s anxiety! We also had an interview with Acsess Hollywood/Access Daily. (what?! 🫠) I was sooo nervous for it for some reason, like way more nervous than I usually would be. We were with Ben’s family for a little reunion, so we hauled half the popcorn room down! I think it went well overall, Carly was cool as a cucumber which was great, but I immediately regretted not mentioning how kind and gracious Tom Cruise was in more detail but we shall see! Kids start back to school this week, as much as i’m ready for more of a schedule, it always breaks my heart knowing they are getting older and these summers of them being little and stuck to me like glue are numbered. WOMP WOMP!!

Ok things that were the good this past week:

My sister in law is pregnant! They had to work and wait so so long for this and I am so over the moon for them!

The doctors and nurses were so sweet and attentive to my son! Kept bringing him warm blankets and popsicles and I love kind people.

I took my daughter back to school shopping and she wanted these little mary jane shoes so bad and they became her whole personality. Walking around with pointed toes, crossing her legs in the stroller etc. I hope she is always that confident!

Ok order in the court!!! back to the movies!!!

Don’t forget about our LIVE PKG OPENING 8/19!!! It’s going to be so fun!

Top Tier Live Hangout announced as soon as I get the kids sports schedules for the rest of the month!

Tell me something good!

Ps. Show starbucks this QR code and please have your coffee or donut on me!! It would only let me add $100 but set to auto-reload when it goes below $10! Please!! It would make me so happy!

ooorrdddeeeerrrr in the court! ooorrdddeeeerrrr in the court!

What about a time to kill? That's one of my favorite courtroom movies

Max Well

I feel you'll enjoy Spellbound more than vertigo. Spellbound also directed by Hitch. Came out 13 years before. Staring Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman.

John Liebling

I would love to see a Christopher Lee Dracula theme week myself, with: The Horror of Dracula (58) Dracula: Prince of Darkness (66) Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (68) But I'd just feel lucky if the Classic Horror poll gets done. Maybe we could get themes done if the Classic Horror poll is popular.

Richard Maurer

Or how about Nosferatu (22) Nosferatu (79) Shadow of the Vampire (00) Robert Eggers' upcoming Nosferatu movie

Grad

Some of these could also work as themes. For example: Week 1: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (56) The Fly (58) The Blob (58) Week 2: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (78) The Fly (86) The Blob (88) Or a Dracula theme, starting with Nosferatu (22).

Grad

Check up Lukas Moodysson. A swedish director. His first 3 movies are great and his last as well 🥰

Björn Karlsson

Great!

Steve Holton

Cassie said, "Tell me something good!" My wife got the fulltime Nurse Educator position she wanted [and a pay raise]. My cancer screen came back negative. Our son and his family are finally stationed near us [U.S. Army]. Life is good.

Tuck Tucker

I always thought Working Girl was a requirement to keep her Girl Card valid. Not at the level of Dirty Dancing, but still one of the requirements.

2-Can

Thank you, Bjorn. I have seen it too.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

She has seen Parasite btw 🙂

Björn Karlsson

Hopefully I can make use of the QR code when I’m in the US in 2 weeks!. Thanks in advance for wake up juice!

Biggman83

Thanks for the coffee ☕☕☕ ☺️

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

Yeah 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Björn Karlsson

Like Memento.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Run Lola run would be good as part of a time loop series.

rakesh

Congrats on the TV interview, sorry to hear about your son, glad to hear he's on the mend. Thanks for the offer of coffee, bit I don't think dollar card can scan in the UK. I'm too much of a scardy cat to try! I think you'll really enjoy Erin brochovich. I felt Philadelphia was a bit too cheesy and and an obvious jumping on the bandwagon movie by Hollywood. Though not a courtroom drama Dallas buyers club tackles the subject matter a whole lot better. Never seen primal fear. So that might be interesting. Still smarting over Presumed Innocent, but cest la vie.

rakesh

Pleading for a movie. I know that feel.

rakesh

Yeah... some non-english from Europe. 😁😁 Downfall, Das boot, The hunt, All quiet...., The girl trilogy, Trollhunter, The wave, Let the right one in, and my favorite movie Show me love 🥰🥰 They all need requests btw 😄

Björn Karlsson

Well, sheee-it. :-/

Stick Figure Studios

Thank you for sharing the Starbucks code. I probably won't use it, but that is very sweet of you to share with us. Your segment on Access Whatever It's Called was so fun. I'm happy that you gave JAWS a shout out. Really excited for Saturdays LIVE Package Opening! See you then!

Mark Vaderr

I've thought of some other categories of movies to vote on: 1. Foreign (ie. La Strada, Run Lola Run, Parasite) 2. Independent (ie. Blair Witch Project, Living in Oblivion) 3. New Wave (400 Blows, Compulsion, Blow Up).

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

If it had been 4 it would have been The Pelican Brief. The Verdict finished 4th in Pool A, it didn’t make the final poll. I’d say it’s at least 2 Courtroom/Lawyer polls from having a shot. Hopefully it turns into a semi-annual thing, and it’s only one year. There’s a lot of good one’s out there to be watched.

Cole Jennett

Well, we better hurry, because the long awaited sequel is coming out soon: Son of Kramer. :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Thanks for the coffee! Had such a long night and that really helped me get through my training session ☕️ 😊 We had the 2am simulator slot lol 🥱

Josh Phillips

A most worthy song, but I've heard it too often. I'd go with Sex (who wouldn't! :-) ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vczkEKWiwKg (Tip o' the hat to Weird Al: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9paazlKN2s&t=52s ) As a consolation prize, here is Terri Nunn (Berlin vocalist) auditioning for Star Wars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP7miIRdyP4 For somewhat more SFW music by Berlin (in a very successful movie): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70FVFxXpY_8 :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Tell you something good? You have the whole rest of your lives to watch your kids turn into people like you and your husband. Sounds like a good way to spend your time.

Alan Kobb

Yeah... that's a great song as well 🙂 But my favorite is Take my breath away - Berlin from Top gun. 😃

Björn Karlsson

It just missed the cut to make the finals on the poll. It finished 4th in its pool, even managing to finish ahead of Runaway Jury which was a surprise. It’s moving up the ranks!

Cole Jennett

Man oh man, I'm sorry to hear about your boys troubles, but thrilled to hear he is bouncing back so quick. That's scary stuff, I can't imagine the worries that went along with that. So I hope you're recovering well too Cassie. Wait, Interview with Access Hollywood? How crazy is that?! Nervous or not, I'm sure you were as charming as ever. And if the nerves showed....more charming, all good. Tip for nervousness that helped me (I'm a nervous wreck when playing competitive golf). Michael Jordan was once asked if he was ever nervous or scared of missing the game winning shot. He said something like "why would I think about missing a shot I haven't taken?" Different scenario I guess, but it's application is not just limited to the sport world lol. Ok for reals, All the best to the little man, congrats to your sister in law, fist bump to the Nurses and Docs (I also love kind people), and good luck to all with back to school. Almost time for that cool crisp Autumn air. Oh yea.

Erik Daniel

Been a long time since I heard it. It did quite well in Canada, as I recall. Also, her name is "Carlsson"? How unexpected! :-) At the end of this song, YouTube switched to Mr. Mister's Kyrie. I guess the algorithm thought that Kyrie Eleison is a Swede. Lord have mercy. :-) And in keeping with this sudden religious turn :-) , I'm more partial to Show Me Heaven, which we-all last encountered in Days of Thunder, though with all due respect to Maria McKee, the version that stayed with me is Tina Arena's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta0hngvnnik

Happy Hanukkah

Maybe you know the song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhWEI6-_w9E That song is in the outro of the movie :)

Björn Karlsson

Oh my, I didn't read the message, just looked at the image, sorry to hear about your boy, hope everything is sorted, fingers crossed!

Alec S

Well, if I were a swedish movie, I would think it is high time to show me love.

Happy Hanukkah

Yes, Cassie has indeed seen TDWP. https://letterboxd.com/pib1/films/by/name/ Dare I suggest the Hepburn/Tracy film Woman of the Year (1942)? :-)

Happy Hanukkah

This is the 2nd time this week I've heard about surgeries for sons. Starting in the ER put your son at the top of the list -- unlike the other boy (dearest person you could want to meet) who fasted all night for a planned surgery and got bumped for 4 hours! TG everything worked out for the other family, too, but I don't envy any of you! So happy for your son. I love the idea of the women in the workplace films, but all the great films I can think of have been said!

Judy M. Goodman

Well being curious is a good thing imo. 🙂 I'm that too, too much sometimes I've been told 😬🙃🤪 Anyway, a swedish, danish or norwegian movie would be great on this channel 😇😄

Björn Karlsson

As I mentioned on Discord earlier. My step sister had to do an appendectomy in June this year. 2-3 days later she was digging in her garden 😄 I got mine removed, like 40 years ago 🙂

Björn Karlsson

I have now rocketed past fatuousness and into outright effery (with y'all): we should have a watch-along of Eric Rohmer's Perceval le Gallois (1978)!!!1!!

Happy Hanukkah

In case anyone's interested My top 5 from this list, in order: The Horror of Dracula, Godzilla / Gojira, Night of the Living Dead, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Bride of Frankenstein.

Richard Maurer

@ Bill - Thanks, I like your last name too. Can't agree with AaCMF though, I'm not a fan of horror comedies, or very few of them anyway.

Richard Maurer

Just what was Happy Hanukkah thinking about? I Am Curious.

Happy Hanukkah

good additions... I might guess that she/they have seen the Devil Wears Prada but if not, it would definitely be on the list!

Adam Doyle

Thanks for the coffee!

Adam Doyle

Happy the appendectomy went well. I went through one when I was 43...not fun, but the recovery is pretty easy.

Matt Rose

Nice last name. I would add "Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein". "The Thing from Another World" is a great one.

Bill Maurer

YES!! I would add these to the list: Silkwood (1983) Meryl Streep, Cher The China Syndrome(1979) Jane Fonda, Michael Douglas Baby Boom(1987) Diane Keaton The Devil Wears Prada (2006) Meryl Streep, Anna Hathaway

Joe Lazarus

Naaah. In my experience, this is the Best Time for these movies. The Heart is warm, the Tear-Ducts are lubricated, and You are reminded of Important Things that may have been forgotten in the moment. Moonstruck definitely works, too.

Larry Darrell

May I suggest a Labor Day Movie Poll about women in the workforce: Norma Rae (1979) Sally Field Working Girl (1988) Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford 9 to 5 (1980) Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin

Adam Doyle

Exactly!! I think she will love this.

Tara

So glad you're little man pulled through. 💙 Health scare curve balls that hit us and our loved ones can be scary. I learned over the pandemic that I have FH. I'm not scared about it, now it's just another thing I'm managing. My friend recently just became a mom for the first time of twin girls. The days before and the days after they were born were very physically and emotionally draining for her. But everyone is happy, healthy and active now. 😁 Looking forward to WITNESS Week. Good call on choosing the Top 3 Picks. Definitely an idea to revist for future theme weeks.

Zane From Canada

From what I gathered, that she likes about Courtroom Dramas, I think The Rainmaker is just what she is looking for.

Larry Darrell

Understatement of the week: "anytime your kids are hurting, and in a hospital it ramps up a mom’s anxiety!"

Steve Miller

Glad your son is on the mend he will bounce back quickly, it's good his appendix is out now at a very young age,it's gone for good bye bye.💙 Please tell me Carly will be watching 'Erin Brokovich' with you Cassie♡♡

Celeste McAllister

Glad your son's doing better Cassie. 💕💕💕

Ian Hunter (NewbieInOttawa)

Be well 🙏💙🤞

Neil Varma

@ Mike LL - More of an oversite, I would consider it a horror film, apparently whoever made the Wikipedia list did not.

Richard Maurer

For the 1930's, no King Kong (1933)? Or is that more of an adventure film?

Mike LL

Firstly, I'm glad your son's doing well after his time in the hospital, that must have been scary for you both. Now I will of course once again ask for Classic Horror and Asian Martial Arts polls, but this time I'll do something I rarely do - make a list of suggestions (for Classic Horror, next time I'll do Asian Martial Arts). 1930's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (31) Island of Lost Souls (32) The Mummy (32) The Invisible Man (33) Bride of Frankenstein (35) Son of Frankenstein (39) . 1940's The Wolf Man (41) Cat People (42) Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (43) I Walked with a Zombie (43) . 1950's The Thing from Another World (51) The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (53) Godzilla / Gojira (54) - personally I prefer the Japanese version, Gojira. Creature from the Black Lagoon (54) Them! (54) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (56) The Curse of Frankenstein (57) Night of the Demon (57) The Blob (58) The Fly (58) The Horror of Dracula (58) The Mummy (59) . 1960's Village of the Damned (60) The Curse of the Werewolf (61) Black Sabbath (63) Dracula: Prince of Darkness (66) Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (68) Night of the Living Dead (68) . Before anyone points out that I missed Dracula (31), this was intentional. This is my list and while Dracula (31) might be a classic, it's not one I like. Sorry , but Cristopher Lee's Dracula of the 50's and 60's was better. I'm sure there are other movies people think are classic that I missed too, feel free to comment. Also I didn't include films Cassie has already seen - mainly, Frankenstein.

Richard Maurer

Sorry to hear that your son had to go through that. But, as he gets older, he'll discover the most important aspect of his appendectomy. Chicks dig scars.

Just Plain Bob

Cassie, PLEASE, PLEASE add The Rainmaker to your courtroom week. I have been waiting for that movie for 2 years now. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🍿

Tara

So happy that your little one is better. So many great courtroom movies. I don’t even know what I’m going to vote for next time. (Maybe Carly can get a “pick of the month”?)

Uncle Phoenix

Can’t hardly wait til next year and we get to watch (The Verdict.)

Uncle Phoenix

100% Amen

Uncle Phoenix

Amen

Uncle Phoenix

Yay! I haven't seen Primal Fear in YEARS! Very excited! And I'm glad your son is better, I had an appendectomy myself back in January and I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone! I'd almost rather give birth again, lol! At least those pains come and go...

Jessi

what about Kramer vs Kramer ? ....

mhz

Body snatchers!

Grad

It is a big relief to know that your son is doing well. Best wishes for him and your whole fam. Well swear me in for Witness Week! I will testify that it is a great idea for a Theme week. I do not object to any of these great movies, but I will not perjure myself and say I am not disappointed that The Rainmaker is not part of the proceedings. I will just have to plead harder next time that movie is on the docket. All rise for Her Honor Cassie Popcorn, I know she will be fair in her deliberations as she takes evidence this Witness Week!

Mike LL

bring plenty of tissues for Philadelphia. A powerful and emotional film. Tom Hanks best!

Lana Gorgeous

Eventually you will get to the Rainmaker.

zynjams

Are you thinking about the swedish flag?? 🤔😄 How about red or white? 😆

Björn Karlsson

Can confidently say that watching both Philadelphia and Primal Fear even though they finished way behind EB, is one of the best executive decisions you've made. Wishing your son all the best & a speedy recovery!

Shehab Dawoud

Glad you and your family are doing well.

Joshua Stormont

I wonder if we could shoehorn Moonstruck (1987) in there.

Happy Hanukkah

Wow. It's certainly been an eventful week filled with both good and bad things. Looking forward to your interview on Access Hollywood. Sorry about your son, but I believe it will all end up okay. Congratulations to your sister-in-law. The good news we just received is that my wife got a big raise at her job. This will make things so much easier for us financially. So pleased that you decided to do the top 3 winners of the courtroom poll (I only wish it could've been 4 because then you'd finally get to see Paul Newman's greatest performance in THE VERDICT, the best courtroom drama I've ever seen). The first two movies (ERIN BROCKOVICH and PHILADELPHIA) are very good with excellent Oscar-winning performances and I am confident you will like them. They are more serious dramas than the third movie PRIMAL FEAR which is more of a dark, mysterious legal thriller. In all honesty, that's the one I'm most excited about you watching. I love that film and I have a feeling you will too. You're going to hear a lot of praise for Edward Norton's performance and rightfully so as it is brilliant (it was his debut and he was nominated for an Oscar for it), but I think Richard Gere also does phenomenal work here (some of the best of his career) in a more thankless, understated role. Norton shines but Gere anchors the film. Cannot wait for you to see this one As always, keep up the good work. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

"A boy or a girl?" "I don't know; I can't wait to get home and find out whether I'm an aunt or an uncle!" Ba-dum-tss. Mazel tov!

Happy Hanukkah

I’m glad you all are alright. Much love & prayers.

Jerrod Acree

I went to a show recently... Probably been a couple weeks by now but anyway it was a local production of Bye Bye Birdie. And sitting in front of me was this mother and daughter and the daughter was leaned against the mother's shoulder the entire time. And the cynical side of me used to get so annoyed about that kind of thing but now I just... I see the thing I wish I could have more than anything in the world but know I'll never have. I used to convince myself that I didn't want kids but honestly I would love to have kids. But there's rules you have to set for yourself and you just can't get what you want sometimes. So as heartbreaking and numbered as the days may seem, just cherish every single moment you have with your kids because somewhere out there there's someone that wishes dearly they could even have half of what you have. You're a wonderful soul and undoubtedly a brilliant mother and it's been absolute honor to get to know you since I've joined your channel. Thanks for these small little insights into your life, it gives my heart Joy.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Focusing on the movies, I like your King Arthur idea. You mentioned some worthy movies; I'm partial to Merlin (1998). (That's the 3-hour miniseries with a stacked cast led by Sam Neill. Not the unrelated 5-season BBC show from 2008-2012.) (I suppose I could mention Robert Bresson's Lancelot du Lac (1974), but I fear that would zoom me past facetious and into fatuous.)

Happy Hanukkah

How nervous would you normally be for an interview for national television? Dang your channel is blowing up. Its totally deserved I think you really have set the bar in the movie reaction space but still! Crazy how big things are getting. Good news for me is I'm moving in less than 2 weeks. I moved into my current apartment about a year ago and they don't allow dogs. I unfortunately had to give mine to my uncle to care for. But the new place I'm renting is a house so I can get my dog back! I love my cats but a home needs a dog. Wishing you guys all the best and prayers for a speedy recovery for your son.

My_Cousin_Mose

I think Team Popcorn has been dealing with enough without having to tack on water damage from all those tears. 😂

Brian Harris

I would certainly be excited. I'm just curious whether she'll choose Blue or Yellow. :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Good news: I got out of the house and went to a barbecue (I work from home and don’t mix with people much, so that’s a big deal for me)

Ria Grix

Will you be excited if she does a Scandinavian movie? I would be 😁

Björn Karlsson

Long time no see 😁

Björn Karlsson

Life has certainly been happening in the PIB House this year. All the Highs and Lows, and Celebrations and Prayers. Might I suggest a Theme… Life is Like a Box of Chocolates Week Terms of Endearment (1983) Steel Magnolias (1989) Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

Larry Darrell

I just became an Uncle!

Sahitya

Prayers for your son 🙏❤️👍

Manuel Villacana

Gee-wiz, I'm so sorry about all the stress you're going through! I'm glad to hear your son is okay, that really makes me happy! Trust me, I know exactly how you feel when you have a child in the hospital and as a mom you get anxiety, for I myself have done that to my mother a few times in the past when I was a youngster! You see, when I was kid, I had a really bad asthma problem, just out of the blue when I was asleep at night, I'd have a massive breathing attack, the first one I had I was about..... 3 or 4 years old, I can't remember exactly, but my dad told me that my face was almost completely blue, I just couldn't breath, I probably almost died! Throughout my childhood I think I might have had at least 4 breathing attacks, and survived! Thankfully these days, my asthma isn't as severe as it was when I was little! But, my mother and my father were so worried about me when I was in the hospital, so in a way I know how you feel, or at least I'm sure my mother would know how you feel lol! I saw that notification on YT about the interview with Access Hollywood, big congrats to you and Carly doing that, sounds like it was fun, I'm sure you probably were nervous as heck lol! Big congrats to your sister in law being pregnant, so happy for your family! I'm really glad the doctors were giving your son as much care as he can possibly need! I'm really glad to hear your daughter really likes her new shoes, sounds so cute! Looking forward for courtroom week, sounds like a lot of fun, speaking of themes, I hope you'll consider my idea of doing movie theme week of watching movies all themed on the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, there's a lot of good movies based around that story! I recommend: . Excalibur (1981) . First Knight (1995) . The Sword in the Stone (1963) . King Arthur (2004) . Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) Excalibur is arguably the most accurate depiction of of the story! First Knight stars Sean Connery and Richard Gere! The Sword in the Stone is one of the last animated movies Walt Disney worked on before his passing a few years later and I'm still shocked as heck you've never seen it lol! King Arthur is a somewhat realistic depiction of the character during the later years of the Roman Empire and stars Clive Owen and Keira Knightley! Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a British Comedy spoof on the story that has many iconic characters and quotable one-liners, but I think it's hilarious🤣 As for something good to tell you, hmmm...🤔 Well, despite work kicking my butt recently! Lately, I've just been on a binge watching spree of your YT edit reactions to both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, I just love it so much, I can't get enough lol! Speaking of which, I recently added several new replicas to my slowly growing collection from the films, so I guess I can call that good lol! Anyway, sorry for this long post! Hope your son is feeling better and will be home soon! Looking forward to this Saturday's Livestream, I always love tuning in to those and chatting with you! No gifts this time, sorry, but I promise, by Christmas I'll have some things lined up for you and Carly! Hope you have a great week, love and support always, you and Carly are the best, [virtual hug] God bless you and your family, and as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

Glad everyone is recovering!! I also love a good "theme"! I think your next one should be a classic monster theme!!! Mummy, Godzilla some other obscure character your fans come up with 😂😂😂

Todzilla

Good News!!! I got a new duplex neighbor! She's sweet, funny & kind, and her doggie and mine love each other. I, too, needed this goodness in my life. Sending you lots of happy-time boxes this week!!!

Jon Johns

Sorry to hear about your son Cassie. I’m glad the surgery went well and he’s on the mend. Can’t leave out your daughter. I hope she loves her new shoes! Also, congrats to your sister-in-law! And to you and Carly on the interview. Pretty soon, you guys are going to be too famous to hang around with us! 😉 Looking forward to courtroom week!

Robert da Spruce

Hope your son feels better soon!

Matthew Dunham

Primal Fear, yes, finally !!!!!!

Alec S

So happy to hear that your son is doing well. I love courtroom dramas too, I'm especially excited for your reaction to Primal Fear.

Ib-René Jørgensen

Wow. These courtroom dramas could not be more different!

Alex Villarreal

!Can't wait for "Erin Brokovich"!
