Sad news came out a little while ago: https://collider.com/carl-weathers-dead-at-76/?fbclid=IwAR3DFeoF26T2AHBtL7kQpcePcAbpBLGGh3CfTwD6q9ekxcxtZoplIHodqbg_aem_AYQ5RrLFciHdE02kl-XYWuDD54eBGoZ3qjXEQu7IwFKgeEvVdEMnTFzLvRv98c7_dh8

INTERSTELLAR!

I remembered rats running inside almost empty large theaters during later sequels of Rocky series. Some of these rodents the size of household adult cats even bite us. I can imagine the same for Creed

I will take that action Sir!

His mom's death scene still gets me.

I liked Creed III it needed to be better than II which to me was a blend of the Rocky III IV story lines. I also get what you mean about there being something about sporting movies A less well known film but very good is the flying Scotsman . Based on a true story as well jonny Lee miller is excellent

"Hoping we can get Vertigo up" I'm not sure how wise that is... :-P

....and a saga is put to rest. Now let's wrap up the rest of the James Bonds.

So this is gonna be a controversial take, and I’m as surprised as anybody, but I didn’t … miss Rocky? I mean, I guess I did, and it would have been nice to see him, but I’m not sure what place he would have had in this story. I think one of the reasons Rocky was such a good coach for Donnie is that they had been through similar things, and this was a specific problem, a specific relationship, that Rocky could not understand and didn’t have context for in the same way. The best he could have done was maybe sniff Dame out early on and try to warn Donnie, but Donnie can’t take that warning seriously or there’s no movie, and we’ve already seen Rocky and Donnie argue before in two other movies. There’s a big part of me that’s ok with no Creed IV, at least not for a long time. It looked like the next chapter is Donnie teaching his daughter to box and maybe becoming her trainer. That could be a good continuation, but I think they need to wait a while, ten or twelve years.

As a lifelong boxing fan (since watching Muhammad Ali in the 70s as a child), I can attest that the ring entrances have become much more elaborate over the years. In fact, former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder blamed his loss to Tyson Fury in their second bout on his overly elaborate ring entrance, saying he was tired before the fight even started. Unfortunately, while the build up has become more theatrical, the in-ring product has become a shadow of what it once was. Fighters today are much less well conditioned and much less busy than the fighters of decades past. The average work rate (punches per round) for heavyweights has dropped by more than half of what it was as recently as the 90s. Today, fighters struggle to go 12 rounds. Until the mid to late 1980s, championship bouts were scheduled for 15 rounds (rounds 13 through 15 were referred to as the “championship rounds” because only championship fights were scheduled for fifteen rounds). Once upon a time, boxers simply fought until one of the fighters could not continue (the longest known bout lasted 110 rounds and almost seven hours). I know some people like to claim that the heavyweights of yesteryear could not contend with today’s giants. That’s absurd. Jack Dempsey (6’1”) won the title against Luis Firpo, who stood 6’6”. Before Firpo, Jess Willard was the heavyweight champ. He stood 6’7”. That was more than a hundred years ago. There have been many other heavyweight champions through the years that stood well over six feet tall. Giants in the game are nothing new. PS: The fight ticket that Adonis gave to Damian was for the famous “Rumble in the Jungle”, held in Zaire in 1974 between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. It was in that bout that Ali first introduced the “rope a dope” strategy to the boxing world.

"Maybe they both should have tried therapy first." Best comment of the reaction =D

Ironic that Cassie used the phrase “raging bull “ in this reaction. Raging Bull is a great movie (Scorsese, De Niro ) but not a feel good movie at all.

I think it’s this version for me this time. I liked it, but it’s too soon to revisit, I think. There were a couple years in between viewings for me of the last two Creed movies. That’s about the right time spread.
