COURTROOM POLL FINAL

Ok here is the final courtroom poll of the top 3 from Poll A and Poll B!

Judge and Jury here we gggooo!!

One vote only this time!!

Comments

I just saw that poll. I can’t believe Sleepers came in last. It’s such a good movie and the cast is nuts, De Niro, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver, Jason Patric, Billy Crudup, and probably more.

Jeff Chance

Sleepers is the best movie you havent seen yet

Lift Me (Dave)

Find Me Guilty with Vin Diesel lol

Gilbert Gonzalez

Just found out that albert finney (the actor who plays the side character in erin brockovich) was Kincade in skyfall and it was his last movie 😒

MatthewBrown74m

So I have to concede defeat . Sleepers came last. But…. In England we have a tradition “ the wooden spoon” how about starting a new idea and watching all the wooden spoons the films that came last 😀

LDC7080

She called it Courtroom/Lawyer Poll when she did Pool A and B earlier, so I think she just forgot to title it the same for the final poll. She’s aware that all the movies don’t take place primarily in the courtroom.

Cole Jennett

I think Pelican Brief should be in the thriller poll.

Hiraoka Toru

Ok, I'll get that checked out immediately. Maybe I was dropped on my head as a kid. Just saying, I don't think there's a single movie I've ever seen more than once in which I can't recall.

Al Swearengen

I love Sling Blade, but it's nothing like Rain Man other than the main character has a mental issue, or whatever you want to call it. I recently read that Billy Bob had no expectations of the movie being well received. He said he just made it for his Mom which I assume means he had a similar upbringing and relationship with his mom and step father as the boy in the movie. Maybe that's pretty obvious, regardless.

Al Swearengen

Okay, so correct me if I'm wrong: While I think Cassie would potentially enjoy The Pelican Brief, I feel like it's not really a courtroom drama.

WastedPo

Hope she also considers Generation Kill and Lonesome Dove.

Brent Petty

Oh yeah! :)

Celeste McAllister

I've decided to keep asking you to put Sling Blade on a poll to be voted on ..it's an incredible movie I know you and your sister would like it. If you liked Rain Man you'll like Sling Blade.

Greg gooch

I know Erin prolly gonna win but I gotta put in with The Pelican Brief. A very viable Julia alternative plus... Denzel!

Jay Davis

@Damon Definitely, if not just for the courtroom scenes alone!

Bill W

Sounds like cognitive issues. You should get that checked out immediately.

Damon

Everyone Stop voting for The Rainmaker, so that maybe it’ll have a chance in the Biggest Loser Poll. I think that’s it’s best chance. The Pelican Brief also. It’s a Race for Last Place.

Larry Darrell

For Halloween you gotta do Devil's Advocate. Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino.

Ryan Gondek

For your next miniseries I vote for John Adams. House of Saddam is also OK but a lot of time jumps.

Ryan Gondek

Saw it twice and still don't remember one thing about the movie. Can't be all that great.

Al Swearengen

That would be a rough watch for them, but worth it. Great performances by Norton and the kid from Terminator 2.

Al Swearengen

Erin Brokovich is obviously going to win, and that's fine with me since it's a great movie and Cassie will love it for sure. I really hope she watches Pelican Brief someday, too.

Johnny

Primal Fear The Pelican Brief

Vincent

Sleepers and Primal Fear. How is Sleepers in last place? Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Jason Patric.... shaking my head it's pulling up the rear.

Damon

Same!!

Damon

Standard 90 degree, but padded. 👍🏻🤣😂

'Pappy' Johnston

Philadelphia is a great film but it's difficult to watch. :/

Colin Gutierrez

Erin Brokovich is such a great film

Robbie

Hopefully you have comfortable chairs. When I was on a jury we had the most uncomfortable, straight backed (like 90 degrees to the seat, straight), ornately carved wooden chairs. Luckily it was only a two day trial.

Mike Lemon

I OBJECT to only watching one of those movies....the top 3 are ALL need to watch. :-)

Kim Brink

Those were the prime Norton years. American History X is my favorite performance of his though, I'd love it if both Cassie and Carly reacted to it.

Paul Deaconu

Sorry about that. It's the one I voted for so it has no chance of winning.

Mike Lemon

Unfortunately, since it's a month long criminal trial, I'm sworn to secrecy until it's over.

'Pappy' Johnston

I would love an exception for “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon”. Is a great love story.

Uncle Phoenix

When I first saw Primal Fear, I thought "who is that Ed Norton guy he is awesome"

JiminyMac

There are some rules that make exceptions for LOTR. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

My_Cousin_Mose

She seems to notice that, too. Then she'll watch the 2nd and 3rd place finishers as well.

2-Can

Is it irrational that I'm still hoping for a rewatch of "A Few Good Men," but with Carly joining in? (I mean, they justified a rewatch for the LOTR trilogy.)

WastedPo

Not seen Erin Brockovich all the way through since it was released. But Philadelphia is a must must watch! A really important movie milestone!

Biggman83

Cassie, it looks like Erin Brockovich will win by far, but you MUST watch The Rainmaker and Philadelphia from this list. I have been rooting for these movies for almost 2 years now on your channel. 🍿

Tara

Just another crappy movie I won’t watch with PiB. Enjoy

zynjams

Albert Finney. Read 'im and weep. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

agreed on Primal Fear, while it is a good story/movie, the sensitive subject matter is very intense.

Adam Doyle

Philadelphia, Erin Brockovich and Primal Fear are must watches. The others are no rush.

Tal Moore

I agree with Michael Lipke - Rainmaker is by far the best movie on this list. Why isn't it leading? Amazing cast. Oh well, maybe she'll watch it anyway.

Michael Snapp

I’d raise you Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Deniro, Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver… However, I was hoping for a top 3 finish for The Rainmaker. Next time I guess!

Cole Jennett

I think she will like the Rainmaker a lot too, not sure about Primal Fear. Not to say I don’t think she should see it. Just don’t anticipate love for it.

Cole Jennett

I'm disappointed that The Pelican Brief didn't get a good result. It's quite an exciting thriller with great performances by Julia and Denzel.

Alan Kobb

All good films and worthy of reactions. I think Cassie would love EB and PF the most.

Matt Rose

Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Claire Danes, Virginia Madsen, Mickey Rourke, Roy Scheider, Danny Glover and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. the Rainmaker should be leading this poll.

zynjams

Honestly, I can’t believe it beat out Runaway Jury. I’m not complaining, it has my vote here too, just didn’t expect it.

Cole Jennett

I think it’s worth it just to keep some movies on her radar.

Cole Jennett

It’s true, Mark and I rarely agree, lol. It happens though!

Cole Jennett

Was really hoping for Philadelphia, simply because this is Denzel and Tom Hanks really launching into their superstardom.

Jordan Malloy

Erin Brockovich will make 634 of us happy. :-|

Happy Hanukkah

I like Erin brockovich but not as much as the others . I guess people just love Julia Roberts .

LDC7080

Can't believe Primal Fear's losing to Erin Brockovich.

Jacob Colson

Primal Fear was Edward Norton's first major film and his performance in it truly launched his career, as it gave ample proof of his acting chops. Erin Brockovich is based on a true story and Erin continues to advocate for environmental today. The by-play and chemistry between Albert Finney and Julia Roberts is a treat - two actors at the top of their game. Philadelphia is a brilliant story and both Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington deserve all the accolades they received for their masterful performances - Philadelphia was the first of two Best Actor Oscar performances for Tom Hanks in a row in the 1990s, the second of which was his tour de force performance in Forrest Gump! Not a bad couple of years for Hanks! By the way - after doing Philadelphia (1993) and Forrest Gump (1994), Hanks then did Apollo 13 in 1995 AND Toy Story- not a bad run in the early 90s for Mr Hanks! He was no slouch in the latter half of the 90s either - with "That Thing You Do", " Saving Private Ryan", "You've Got Mail", "Toy Story 2", and "The Green Mile"!

Timothy Fox

Can’t believe sleepers is in last place.

LDC7080

Part of the art of succeeding at this endeavor. A lot more involved than just good, honest reactions and great editing, both of which are also part of the art.

Steve Miller

Please eventually watch them all. Such a great lineup

Kathy Carter

I feel like The Rainmaker is an underrated movie. But the current top 3 are all worth seeing.

Walter

Primal Fear is my favorite of the bunch.

David Crabtree

in a nutshell: Philadelphia will make you cry, Primal Fear will freak you out and Erin Brockovich will make you happy :-)

Priscila

Throw a curve and watch Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) and introduce them all to a great movie they haven't seen? I know it sounds crazy, but that just might please everyone.

Mike Lemon

Not a fan of Philidelphia, but I absolutely adore Erin Brockovich and Primal Fear is masterful. Heck, I hope she watches all 3!

Art of Free Speech

the top 3 right now are great. I’ll never watch Sleepers again. That’s a rough one. Glad it’s not in the top.

djKENTO

I feel sorry for you.

G

Some people are just a fan of one film genre, and most are action fans. I love horror films but I also really like drama, comedy, fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, musicals, romance, mystery, sports, Western, doc, and action.

G

J’ai voté pour Erin Brockovich , inspiré de fait réel avec une Julia Roberts impeccable dans ce rôle !

CamNofx

When it first came out and for a long time afterward, I had a distaste for Erin Brockovich almost out of Principle. But we all mature, and first of all: Albert Finney. Second, Finney and Julia Roberts provide a sufficient amount of enjoyable moments to make this a decent fun film, enough for me not to make a moue when it wins.

Happy Hanukkah

The solution is obvious: "It's all right now, I learned my lesson well / You see, you can't please everyone, so you got to please Happy Hanukkah." You're welcome.

Happy Hanukkah

I hear you; the next movie obviously has to be Chicago (2002). :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Philadelphia was the movie where I first realized how good both Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington really are. Both delivered stellar performances.

David Collins

Wasn't Ellen Burstyn a supporting actress in that movie with Jennifer Connelly being the lead actress?

Shawn Kildal

It's virtually impossible.

Shawn Kildal

Gonna be EB this time, but Cassie, you should do all of these. Every single one is a winner

Brian Harris

Seriously. Ellen Burstyn in that movie gave arguably the greatest acting performance I've ever seen, whereas Julia Roberts just played against type and got the Oscar for it.

Stranger2Reality

I'm beginning to think if we ever did a poll for musicals, somehow the winner would be a movie with zero songs in it. And it would win in a landslide.

Shawn Kildal

This poll was much like the recent Bruce Willis poll where the winner was a foregone conclusion. A small handful of these polls I feel like we're just going through the motions knowing what the inevitable outcome will be. I have little doubt Cassie will love EB though.

Shawn Kildal

Manuel Villacana

Well, I wonder which one is going to win. So hard to tell.

Larry Darrell

This is what makes life so hard for reactors: @Mark Vaderr: "Not really a fan of any of these movies. I voted for [...] the best that was left out of this slog." @Cole Jennett: "So many good one’s. I think there are as many good courtroom adjacent movies as there are good war movies!" How does one keep such a diverse group of patrons appeased?!? 🤔

Phil Stubblefield

That's my thoughts. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Amyntas

Not really a fan of any of these movies. I voted for Primal Fear. It was the best that was left out of this slog.

Mark Vaderr

This is the truth.

Mark Vaderr

Maybe you guys can’t read, that might explain it! :)

Mike LL

runaway jury is a MUST

diego kontarovsky

Oh! Tell us all about it!! 😀

Bill W

People are sleeping on "Sleepers". They don't know.

Bill W

Julia Robert's Oscar win for Erin Brokovich over Ellen Burstyn's absolutely harrowing performance in Requiem for a Dream was the year I realized the Oscars are meaningless

Godzilla Jones

I voted for Erin B. but also really like Pelican Brief.

Clear Light

I’m going Sleepers, but I honestly would have been fine with 12 of the movies that made the two polls. So many good one’s. I think there are as many good courtroom adjacent movies as there are good war movies!

Cole Jennett

Never was a fan of ANY of these personally, but to each there own. Enjoy, y'all. 👍🏻Funny to note, I'm currently sitting on a jury in real life in a month-long trial! 😂🤣

'Pappy' Johnston

And of course I have to choose between Philadelphia and Sleepers

mikethemotormouth

Ironic that Erin Brockovich is probably going to win and there's almost no parts that take place in an actual courtroom.

Stranger2Reality

This was one of the toughest polls yet. No way are any of these a miss.

Mike H

Just realized I know absolutely nothing about any of these types of movies!

Roger Freeman

Tough call. The Erin Brockovich story affected more people but Philadelphia is an incredibly powerful story as well. Both are must sees, like many on this list.

Maxoutkast

fudge, the best courtroom drama has 0 percent.

zynjams

Whatever wins, there are no losers. This is one two-list poll that every choice was a winner.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Honestly 😞
