I OBJECT POLL B (courtroom/lawyer)

Courtroom/Lawyer Poll!! This is in my top 3 genres I think! Can’t wait for these! I will take the top 3 winners from both Poll A and Poll B for a final poll!

Make sure to vote on Poll A as well!

Comments

Erin Brokovich is a very popular and famous movie. While on the other hand, I personally have not heard of Hurricane

Thoko

Now that I think about it, I suppose you're right. I guess the stuff from when they're kids is what stands out in my memory.

Rodger Johnson

I think the film is actually shorter than the Dylan song. =D

Bill W

Agreed. It's the entire 2nd half of the film.

Bill W

I've been requesting that since the beginning... prison movies, courtroom, based on a true story, historical drama... St. Patrick's Day... wherever I thought I could squeeze it in. It only has 11 requests on the Popcorn Requests page.

Bill W

Also a great Bob Dylan song!!!

Bill W

Don't get me wrong Erin Brokovich is a great movie but I'm surprised that Hurricane is not getting the love is one of the better courtroom dramas right there with time to kill

Tony Olmos

It’s more of a prison movie, but there is some good courtroom stuff. You need to watch the TRUE STORY, starring Daniel Day Lewis, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER

SeanATX

It’s far from half the movie, but I get what you’re saying. Not unlike A Time to Kill, there will be some tough scenes, no sugar coating it, but she will be fine, disturbed a little, but fine.

Cole Jennett

Doesn't look like The Hurricane is gonna win the poll but you should absolutely watch it at some point, then listen to Bob Dylans song about the actual true story.. Life changing.

Jesse Moreno

Collectively, I think the movies in poll A are quite a bit stronger than those in poll B.

Mahad Ali

I will also say that Sleepers is the best movie on this list but I will add that the first half is highly disturbing. When I go back to watch it I always skip that part. I'll second the call for Amistad which is a very underrated Steven Spielberg movie about a true event.

JayF

But also where's Murder in the First(1995)? Kevin Bacon, Christian Slater, Brad Dourif, not least of all Gary Oldman?

mikethemotormouth

This one also has a lot of good ones!

Robert Nelson

I gotta disagree on that. The court case is pretty important. It’s the entire focus of the present day portion.

Cole Jennett

I really Love Kramer vs. Kramer. Just Sayin’ ;-)

Larry Darrell

... or Amistad

carbsix

You didn't include Concussion and A Civil Action 🤔

carbsix

runaway Jury and Sleepers are sleeper hits , you'll love both of them. Sleepers supposedly is a true story from the author

rtt143

Well....Did not know you can do that, thanks!

Kevin Kuma

I'm glad my vote is winning for Erin Brockovich, but damn I love The Rainmaker, a greatly underrated movie, I love Matt Damon and Danny DeVito in it.

Brother Who

Sleepers is an amazing (and dark) movie, but I don't really think of its as a courtroom movie. The court stuff isn't really the focus.

Rodger Johnson

I kinda came to that same conclusion as well

Shawn Kildal

Because I think more people have seen RUNAWAY JURY than have seen KRAMER VS. KRAMER.

Stick Figure Studios

Vote for all three!

Cole Jennett

Thank You!!👏

Cole Jennett

It’s on Pool A

Cole Jennett

True Believer with James Woods and RDJ should be on a courtroom poll one of these days. Though it will never win.

Hiraoka Toru

Sleepers

Austin

I'm bummed that Class Action with Gene Hackman and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio doesn't get more attention. It's a great film but few people seem to have even heard of it.

Colin Gutierrez

Would have really liked to have seen AMISTAD in either one of these polls.

Mark Vaderr

I think Sleepers might traumatize Cassie, but its literally the best movie on this list. I am almost sad that Erin Brokovich is in the lead when it was 98% B.S.

Vega

Did you already do the Pelican Brief? If so I apologize. But one of the best conspiracy courtroom dramas there is.

Roger Wayne Alms

The Hurricane is the best movie on this list by far Denzel Washington makes a solid performance . don’t overlook it in the Polls its a Winner Cassie .

Steve Hickman

Tough Poll. I went for KvsK but Sleepers and The Rainmaker are also worthy.

John Cranberry

Agree. Cassie would love Kramer v Kramer. Especially just after seeing Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man.

Aaron Mann

Once Erin Brokovich is finally crossed off the list, The Rainmaker will have a much better chance next time.

Shawn Kildal

Terese Wright was also in Somewhere in Time. She was the friend to the older Eliese McKenna.

Shawn Kildal

Yes indeed!

Shawn Kildal

I get the love for Erin Brokovich, but how does Runaway Jury have more votes than Kramer vs Kramer which is an all-time great film? I knew Erin Brokovich was going to blow up the votes since it doesn't have to compete with A Few Good Men and My Cousin Vinny like it did last time we did this. Still also hoping for The Rainmaker to get reacted to. We could have a whole month of nothing but Courtroom dramas and I'd be over the moon with that.

Shawn Kildal

Cassie 100% will love Erin Brokovich. That movie has everything - plus it's a true story.

Johnny

John Grissom said the Rainmaker was the best movie adaptation from his books. a stellar cast.

zynjams

Sleepers is such a good but horrifying film.

Timothy Burrows

Cassie, you and Carly need to watch "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" together!

Michael Gilbrook

Please watch The Hurricane such a good movie

S Elphick

Rainmaker is hands down one of the best courtroom movies ever made, and IMO should not be dismissed regardless of the poll outcome.

Christopher B.

It's really the Cassiest movie you can imagine.

Carol_White

Oh right?!?! That never even crossed my mind! Maybe?😂

Cole Jennett

On the bright side, Woman in Gold is certainly slated for a spot in a future Last Place Losers poll!

Mike LL

Where is poll B? I'm with you Julie Chittenden. Woman in Gold is one of my all time favourites.

Georges Jarjour

Love Rainmaker, would love to see that one covered.

Alex Laime

Vote for both🤷‍♂️

Cole Jennett

Not sure if I really refer Woman in Gold as a courtroom drama. But it is an amazing movie and I wish more people have seen it.

Julie Chittenden

Oh, now, if Erin Brockovich wins, I'm going to be excited! I absolutely adore that movie and think Cassie will, too.

Art of Free Speech

You forgot The Trail of the Chicago 7.

Joe M

You should add law abiding citizen to this poll. Definitely fits the courtroom vibe

Matthew Dedman

Look at "Sleepers" catching some click action up there!! I love it!! I voted "Erin Brokovich" though lol..

Kevin Kuma

It’s interesting that I’m voting for the least popular film on the other list - Judgement at Nuremberg - and the most popular one on this list - Erin Brockovich. Not sure what that says about me, but both films are unusually faithful depictions of real-life cases that feature incredible performances.

jdj830

That’s on the other poll

Cole Jennett

This list isn't as strong as the other one, but there are still a couple good films on here. I'm voting for RUNAWAY JURY, but I won't be surprised to see ERIN BROCKOVICH win.

Stick Figure Studios

Like I said, I'm not into courtroom movies, however I do make an exception for a few (My Cousin Vinny & 12 Angry Men) respectively! And I also make an exception for Erin Brokovich, which I watched in High School back in the day lol! Plus one other movie stary Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson, Rules of Engagement, though I clasify that as a Military/Courtroom, but it's a good movie! Very clever Cassie, making two polls as "Object A" and "Object B" making it like "Exibit A" & "Exibit B", very clever lol! Really enjoyed your North By Northwest reaction last night, totally worth staying up till 2 in the morning lol! I even left you a voting poll idea in my commentary about it last night! Have a great Tuesday, love and support🥰😁😉👍🌹

Wesley White

Sleepers is among my personal favorite movies ever! I’m very excited to see it doing as well as it is right now.

Brian Harris

I was really hoping Sleepers would get more votes.

TJ

If you didn't see Erin yet, that's a good choice. She is very charming and the story is nice too.

Dioskur

Erin is gonna win whatever happens. im not mad though.

rakesh

So few votes for The Judge.....Humm.

Seymor Butz

It’s her final role too!

AC5555

Erin Brockovich, obvs

Odd Thomas

"Jagged Edge" (1985) with Jeff Bridges and Glen Close is a good one as is, "From the Hip" (1987) with Judd Nelson.

Javier Hernandez

Come on Sleepers!!

Bill W

Unfortunately, it seems people have forgotten about another great courtroom drama: "A Civil Action". It is based on real events and the cast is packed: Robert Duvall, John Travolta, William H. Macy, James Gandolfini, Tony Shalhoub, Sydney Pollak to name a few.

BlueChip300

Dang it! Any chance there is a "Group C" is coming later tonight? Or, by chance, is Cassie saving the true story of Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) for August's Popcorn Pick?

Mike Lemon

I mentioned Sleepers to you an awhile back. I’m glad to see it on your poll. Great cast and a great plot.

Sean Bleakley

Not on either list that I really liked was "Class Action" with Gene Hackman. Maybe in the future?

Chris Davis

I always tend to vote for something other than the runaway favourite in these polls... But in this case I think Erin Brokovich is genuinely great and I can't wait to see Cassie react to it!

Henry Graham

I know Woman in gold might not get chosen, but honestly if it doesn't you and your sister have to see it. It is one of my favourite films. Another good lawyer movie not on the list is Presumed Innocent with Harrison Ford. Much of it was filmed in Windsor, Ontario.

Georges Jarjour

I'm hoping The Verdict is in the other poll. This is a fabulous courtroom drama. Stars one of Cassie's faves Paul Newman as an aging attorney taking one last shot at success against great odds. American Film Institute lists it as #4 on its top list of legal dramas. AFI also has the screenplay in its Top 100 list. Film was nominated for 5 Ocsars, including Best Picture and Newman as Best Actor. Also starring Charlotte Rampling and Jack Warden.

Marc Peterson

Mike... you're the kiss of death! 😂😂

Robin Craft

thats an amazing list of fantastic films. Highly suggest all of them. Especially Erin, Runaway Jury and The Rainmaker

Ryan Towell

Well I see The Rainmaker might indeed be in the final six, but teardrops are destined for Mike's pillow in the end! 😂😂😂😂

Mike LL

I watched The Rainmaker many times and read the book before I realized that it was Teresa Wright from one of my favorite movies, The Best Times of Our Lives, in that small role. Makes the movie more special for me.

Mike LL

Another great poll full of winners Cassie. My pick is winning so far. But again watch at least 3 from these 2 polls please. Just way too many good ones to choose from.

brooke atkins

None of the above.

Miles E Coburn

Surely Erin Brockovich is going to win by a landslide on this poll and the final one. Can’t believe Cassie hasn’t seen it already, it’s exactly her type of movie. Can’t wait! 🍿

Luke Godfrey

Records on selection, if you move it around, you can see the totals change live

Tringard

No love at all for Woman in Gold😔. I don’t think enough people have seen that movie. Ryan Reynolds, Helen Mirren, Tatiana Maslany all kill it!

Cole Jennett

I'm so happy that Sleepers made the cut. It's an incredibly hard movie to watch but a fantastic tale of loyalty, friendship, revenge, and justice. And an absolute amazing cast: Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Patric, Brad Pitt, Minnie Driver. We'll all be crying along accordingly if this one wins. 😊🥲

Zane From Canada

Remember what I said earlier about Blazing Saddles and A Fish Called Wanda? I meant it. Life of Brian, too.

B.J. Wilson

The Hurricane all day

Andrew Hogan

The Verdict

Jeff Young

I can't tell if my vote was recorded. Is there a submit button or is it recorded automatically after I select it.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Went with Erin Brockovich, not sure if she ever did a Julia Roberts movie yet

Bill Maurer

Kramer vs Kramer and the Judge are amazing. Erin Brokovich is overhyped in my oppinion

Shanwyn Nightfox

that's like in my top 5 most rewatched movies... it's so good

MattN

It would be a crime to only watch 1 movie from these 2 polls

Kim Brink

oh this one is tough. kramer v kramer is powerful, but erin brockovich is just a tad more powerful

Wu Sha Ling

Erin Brokovich wins, hands down

Edgar Gonzalez

I’m voting for Erin Brockovich!

Robert da Spruce

I already know the winner

Jerrod Acree

Erin Brokovich is the only correct answer from this poll, and you'll love it.

Bryan Fritchie

Well this is making me eat my words in the other poll! The Rainmaker is here! It will lose! and Mike cries again! 😂😂😂

Mike LL

The Hurricane, one of Denzel's often slept on films.

David RedEagle

Rainmaker was directed by FF Coppola. Stars Matt Damon, Claire Danes and a supporting role from the legendary Teresa Wright !!!!! You may remember her from Best Years of Our Lives and one of my favorite Hitchcock films, Shadow of a Doubt (that you haven’t seen yet)

AC5555

An underrated gem

Jake McNulty

Sleepers has an amazing cast
