2023-07-29 12:39:19 +0000 UTCI saw this when it came out and some time later had family visiting; they have a daughter, who was 11 or 12 at the time. I'd kind of forgotten some of the more gruesome bits and told them, 'it'll be fine'. They haven't spoken to me properly since.

Before hand, I didn't really know what to expect, but loved this movie! yes, it's gruesome and that scene where Teddy kills that girl is still a gut punch. But I love Robert McCall as a character. He's so nice, even in the most basic stuff he always tries to do the right thing. This is extra highlighted in the sequel, which I think is a better movie. Though a little more gruesome too I think. So be warned! But I really hope you'll consider watching it. You won't be disappointed at all! Another movie from Denzel that is REALLY good is Deja Vu. I won't spoil anything, but it's really exciting. The Bone collector is also very recommendable with Angelina Jolie. It's more of a thriller. Loved your reaction. It's funny. I watched this movie last week a few days before I saw you were going to react to it. 😅 So I watched it again today and it was just so fun to see your reaction to it. Thank you!

A guy who always tries to do good, even in the most mundane things. It's inspiring, really. At least, I think so. I always wanna be a better person after watching these movies. xD

I knew Denzel is capable of being an action star, he's got the style besides doing more dramatic roles! Speaking of dramatic roles, you should see one of his biggest tear jerkers, John Q. it will make you cry and you will love it, I know it! This in my opinion not only had some John Wick, but even a little bit of Taken and a pinch of Rambo! Taken because of the fact that he's possibly a former government agent of sorts that has all these particular set of skills that he was trained to do, and how he dispatches the bad guys, and then a pinch of Rambo because of all the improvised weapons and traps he rigs in The Home Depot! True we don't get much of a backstory, but in this case, I don't think it needed one, which is okay (ususally) lol! I can make an exception, I can just let my imagination run wild lol! This was a great movie, can't wait to watch the sequel and I hope to see a reaction of you watching the sequel! I was pretty shocked to see Bill Pullman in this as much as you, but I was even more shocked to see Marton Csokas who plays the hitman who goes after Denzel throughout the movie, he was in The Lord of the Rings! He played Lord Celeborn, Lady Galadriel's husband, hope that didn't dishearten you lol! Great reaction, glad I watched it, this too being my first time watching it, thank you Cassie lol! They even did a reboot of the show in 2021 which starred Queen Latifah as the Equalizer. You should definitely check out part 2. It costars your boy, Pedro Pascal.

But at least it is so with a purpose, NOT just for shock value. Unfortunately, there are bad people out there in the world that do bad things and the ONLY way to stop them is to speak to them in the language they speak and understand in order to bring back the good, kind and safe for the innocent. This movie just, at least in my humble opinion, tells that story. Thank you Cassie for sticking it out and I'm glad you were able to get some enjoyment out of it. :-)
