Upcoming....

Hey poppies! July is flying by over here in Canada. We spent 3 days last week in Montana for our annual family reunion, which went by way too quick! We sunburned our cheeks, ate our weight in fresh Montana cherries, and soaked up lake time and family time, it is something I look forward to all year! You know what was actually so fun? Because my extended family all know about the channel and I don't get to see a lot of them often, everyone wanted to talk about movies and it was so great to hear everyone's favorites and all their recommendations. My aunt and uncle insisted I watch "All the President's Men", one of their joint favorites. Another aunt was so mad we didn't watch my grandpa's favorite Bond "Thunderball". My cousins think I should watch "The Bear", and Carly tried to convince my brother that "Grey Man" was actually really good haha

This week we have another week of variety, which I love! Trying to decide if I watch "Gone in 60 seconds" as well which came 2nd in that poll. We also have a long time catch up with JJ, and our Hitchcock Poll winner as well. Dun Dun DDDUUUNNN!

I am also going to put a biggest loser poll up on YT, of some of the poll's of the past  dead last, not quite sure how that will go but could be fun?

Carly was supposed to join us in Canada for a few days so we were going to watch the last Bond but she wasn't able to so we will have to wait a few more weeks. Extend the end though at least.

Also coming up this week and beyond is the NYC Vlog, a courtroom poll on here, Indiana Jones 4 (dont @ me ;) ) and the top tier LIVE!

Ok you all rock, back to "mom!? rate my dive" for me for the next 4 hours!

Comments

Here's a courtroom drama: AMISTAD. It's based on a true story (which you love) and it's also a historical drama. And it's even directed by Spielberg, so there is some familiarity there.

Aaron Mann

All the Presidents Men is great. I must say that Thunderball is my favorite Sean Connery Bond film. Watch it as a stand alone film. I think you will love it.

Michael and Phyllis Selby

If you are ever in the mood for a fantasy film staring Tommy C you should check out Legend. It's one of his first films. And Tim Curry is amazing in it

Ronny Boss

Primal Fear, please. :)

Brent Petty

I think she's seen Man on Fire. It was in her Letterbox, IIRC.

Brent Petty

Equalizer is good but it's the lesser twin to Man on Fire

Odd Thomas

Courtroom Drama. Rules of Engagement

Blaze118

Courtroom movie (sort of): In The Name of the Father (1993; Daniel Day Lewis, Emma Thompson)

Bill W

It's probably my favorite courtroom/legal drama

Stick Figure Studios

Seconded.

Rich Campbell

For courtroom drama, add The Rainmaker to your shortlist. Matt Damon is so great as a young lawyer and also stars Danny DeVito and Clare Danes.

Tara

Hey Cassie, I would love to see you react to All The President’s Men. You’ll get more Robert Redford who you are seeing in Jeremiah Johnson and you’ll also get to see a younger Dustin Hoffman who you just saw in Rain Man. I also remember that you like movies based on real life. Robert and Dustin play real people.

Tara

Looks like you had an amazing time! So for Courtroom Drama's I'd suggest Erin Brockovich, The Client and To Kill A Mockingbird. I also hope you do react to Gone In 60 Seconds. It's not a masterpiece but, it's still a fun popcorn flick. So for the LIVE, is that for only top tier patreons or for everyone? I'm hoping we get a regular LIVE soon although I know things have been hectic so no big hurry. Looking forward to everything still to come🙋‍♀️

Katie Jackson

I'll say pass on Gone in 60 Seconds. It was a fun movie when it came out, but now doesn't hold up well at all. You've already seen The Rock and Con Air. This is just more of the same over the top 90s cheesiness.

Aaron Mann

I'd rather she watch MM first too, but it wasn't on the poll. If we throw up road blocks neither of them will get watched. She could always go back and watch MM later.

Richard Maurer

your Aunt & Uncle have good taste! I would also recommend All the President's Men

Mike Carey

She has seen Rain Man it'll be on YouTube very soon if it goes by the same way the rest have the last few weeks.

David Freese

If you want one that has done all 4 seasons all ready You Me and The Movies did it last year.

David Freese

I'd rather have her watch Mad Max first then Road Warrior. Especially since she's a completionist.

David Freese

She pulled it out of a pillowcase in a live ad a wild card and a few supporter have gotten her to watch it now.

David Freese

I’m liking your Extended Family. Especially your Aunts and Uncle. So Cool that they’re really into what you’re doing and want to talk movies and give suggestions. I know that was A Lot of Fun. Maybe you could do a Family & Friends Suggestion Week with… All the President’s Men (1976) Klute (1971) TBD, etc. ——————————— As for Bond, I understand your aunt’s anger over skipping Thunderball. Hopefully She wasn’t too Angry with you. ;-) Whoever instructed You on how to properly watch the Original James Bond Films, steered you wrong. Just Sayin’… Again. Here’s Hoping it doesn’t take you too long to Return. Starting again with Dr. No (1962). ———————————— Really looking forward to Jeremiah Johnson, which is one of My All Time Favorites & North by Northwest, which is So Much Fun, and ranks pretty high on my List. That’s going to be an Awesome Double Feature. :-)(-: ————————————— Lastly, as for Indiana Jones. I’m curious. Have you ever gone back and Rewatched the 3 Original Indiana Jones Films? If not, and you’ve only ever seen them the One Time… then I would suggest Rewatching the Original Films, and leaving it at that. In My Opinion, this would be the Most Entertaining Experience for You. The First 3 are a Joyous Trek to a Beautiful Mountain Top… and the 4th and 5th are a Stumble and Head Over Heels Roll down the other side. On the Other Hand, if you have Not Rewatched the Original Films and only seen them the Once… then watching the 4th and 5th films might be a more fun time. I think, the Less you Remember from the Original Films, will enhance your viewing experience. Again, just My Opinion.

Larry Darrell

lol "OG Wildcard Pull" I just realized it means we're going pretty far back... in the channel's history (?) (Edit - Madison Thames is the one with a Jeremiah Johnson reaction... I'll put it on and see if I stop watching... or not...)

Mannygogou

speaking of which, to continue this stream of consciousness... I didn't like The Revenant (2015) so much for some reason but I actually was more impressed by DiCaprio's acting in Don't Look Up (2021) and I'm glad he can still take those roles. Oh wait, I just posed the question "movie Jeremiah Johnson or The Revenant" and there are results comparing the two... and you guessed it, Jeremiah Johnson wins hands down, not to spoil it. There you go. All is right.

Mannygogou

As Good As It Gets... AGAIG

Jon Johns

what a lovely list of movies! (I would have almost said that I feel like I was the only one who recommended Jeremiah Johnson but there's a lot of positive comments above so I must be wrong - but I have to admit I don't remember much of the movie but I remember being impressed at the time, long ago I don't even know when - remind me that it's a thing to behold... yes?) (Also I don't usually say but another reactor did Jeremiah Johnson recently.)

Mannygogou

Where do I sign up to get extra votes? Why didn't anyone tell me? I'm in a higher tier and I wasn't included in the extra votes option! This channel really isn't fair! I WANT MY EXTRA VOTES!!!!!!!!!!

Richard Maurer

Both are cheesy. Con Air is a much more entertaining kind of cheesy.

Richard Maurer

@kaiielle - If Indictment: The McMartin Trial gets on the courtroom poll, *could* I magically get a few of those extra votes? 500 should be enough. :-p

Mike Lemon

I love the idea of a Biggest Loser poll. Sounds like fun. Should be quite a diverse group of movies.

Mark Vaderr

Hi Steve, one of the PIB mods here. People that are pledged at the higher tiers don't magically get extra votes for the polls, or have any sort of priority with the polls in any way. Equalizer won because it got the most votes, plain and simple.

kaiielle

The only thing you got right in that whole bunch of nonsense was the 🤦‍♂️

Cole Jennett

The base $3 tier gives you access to participate in polls so not sure what you mean by this.

Simon Haynes

You know how I will vote 😄

Björn Karlsson

Steve, would you be so kind as to let me know what the hell you're talking about?

Happy Hanukkah

Yeah this is a no brainer. Road Warrior is bar none one of the most groundbreaking action films ever made. I don't really expect the folks that follow this channel to be about the Mad Max movies though. None the less. The Road Warrior is groundbreaking and monumental in it's stunt work, action scenes and set pieces, especially considering the minuscule budget and the fact that it was 40 years ago.

Astraeos

what in the heck is AGAIG?

Astraeos

Hard disagree

Astraeos

I'm so, sooooo happy you're watching Jeremiah Johnson. I'll comment more on it once that video is up, but I'm super excited. You should watch that one with your sister I think, if possible. Definitely.

Astraeos

@PopcornInBed Of course Equalizer gets the win by a long shot catering to high tier members with Polls rips off the mid tier to lower tier voters not to mention waste the $$ of the other Fans who support you , leave them to sink while the rich get lifeboats makes sense 🤦‍♂️

Steve Hickman

For the coutroom poll. PRIMAL FEAR. Edward Norton is incredible.

The Gemini Man

She did Con Air. Basically the same level of cheese, but it’s more fun imo

Cole Jennett

Just one man's perspective, but Gone in 60 Seconds is bad. Really bad in multiple ways. I would say hard pass on that one, given there are so many other good to great things to watch, it seems like a horrible waste of time.

Terdell Ferguson

Yes to gone in 60 seconds

Brandon

I agree with Mike & Stick.

Philip Alan

Im excited for you to watch Crystal Skull as its necessary for Dial of Destiny.

Sean

Hearing about how your extended family had all kinds of suggestions, gripes, and love for what you're doing put the biggest smile on my face.. So happy you have that kind of support and interest in what you're doing. Really great to hear! Can't wait to check out this week's movies!!

Andrew Rose

Yep, Sleepers and Kramer vs Kramer could both go on the courtroom poll. Dustin Hoffman’s part in Sleepers is admittedly much smaller but maybe Brad Pitt could make up for it!

Cole Jennett

All good picks, Sleepers and Erin Brokovich would def be great to see on the channel.

Simon Haynes

Looking forward to Indiana Jones 4

Joshua Stormont

Love the idea of the last place finishers poll. Hope you include Shakespeare in Love which I think was on your “pop up” poll from the Poppies. Courtroom/Lawyer movies I’d like to see on the list are: The Hurricane, The Judge, Sleepers, The Rainmaker, Runaway Jury, Erin Brokovich, and Kramer vs. Kramer.

Cole Jennett

I guess you'll just have to tune in and see, Andrew. 😎

james flack

MONTANA!!! Dilly! Dilly!

Uncle Phoenix

Nice!!! Cute pics Cassie, melts my heart! Glad to hear the family reunion was very fun! I've honestly never seen The Equalizer though I do know what it's about, I should watch it so that way I know what to expect when you post your full length lol! I've never heard of Jeremiah Johnson, so that's new to me! Can't wait for your next Hitchcock reaction, that's gonna be fun lol! Grey Man? Is that a movie are book series, never heard of it! Gon In 60 Seconds is a very underrated action/heist movie, hope to see you react to that too! Quite the line up you've got this week, there is no way in heck I'm missing out on that NYC MI7 vlog, I want to see you and Carly in all your glory and beauty in those lovely dresses you two picked out lol! As for the biggest loser poll, hmmm🤔 I'm intrigued! Do not worry, I'm not gonna give you a hard time that you're gonna watch Indy 4, I for one actually like it, I think it's an entertaining popcorn flick😉 But doesn't quite hold a candle to the original three, but that's just me! Good luck rating dives for the next 4 hours lol🤣, much love and support, you (and Carly) are the absolute best, safe travels back home [virtual hug], and as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉👍🌹

Wesley White

Wow that cottage country looks amazing. Reminds me of Summers as a kid in Sault Ste. Marie. Hope you guys are having a blast. handstand on the water, what a G!! I hope you go easy on the diving, I heard those popcorn judges can be quite strict with the execution of some dives.

Erik Daniel

I lost my gone in 60 seconds DVD. It was here a minute ago.

ROBERT CLARK

I agree, Mike

Stick Figure Studios

Courtroom movie?! THE VERDICT (1982)! directed by Sidney Lumet who directed 12 ANGRY MEN for which you had high regard. Nominated for 5 Oscars including for Paul Newman in imo his best performance which pairs well with your reaction to the excellent JEREMIAH JOHNSON in imo his best performance.

Robert Jewell

In full agreement for THE VERDICT!

Robert Jewell

Great pics Cassie! Looks like you guys are having a great time! Looking forward to the Equalizer!

Robert da Spruce

it's a fun movie. I'll bet she likes it...

Mike Hettenbach

What do you mean featured? She’s watching a movie of his, or he’ll be on her channel?

Andrew Hogan

"I am also going to put a biggest loser poll up on YT" Yay! I'm finally going to win a poll! I'm a winner... Oh.

Happy Hanukkah

Jeremiah Johnson and a Hitchcock movie. This should be a good week. And, Jeremiah Johnson was filmed all over Utah.

Bill Hayden

Great to hear we get to watch the NY trip, but weren’t we also going to get a Philly trip vlog as well or at least a video of you girls running up the museum steps?

Brian McGovern

Jeremiah Johnson?! Gasp! [Falls back in a faint, grabs for the smelling salts and the fan.] :-)

Happy Hanukkah

I love Jeremiah Johnson but very much question whether Cassie will like it.

Just Plain Bob

The only thing you said that I disagree with is “near perfect.” For a historical political thriller, it’s perfect. The only way someone wouldn’t love this film is if they simply don’t like the genre.

Just Plain Bob

I could have sworn she did Jeremiah Johnson already. Either way, looking forward to it now. I hope she does “Little Big Man” too someday.

Roger Banks

Bill W In this case, the punishment far outweighs the crime.

Just Plain Bob

Another courtroom poll. Nice! 👍 Some good suggestion picks: Primal Fear The Rainmaker True Believer The Runaway Jury Philadelphia Suspect Ghosts Of Mississippi Rules Of Engagement High Crimes Indictment: The McMartin Trial

Zane From Canada

Cassie really shies away from tv shows with multiple seasons. That said, I’d LOVE it if she made an exception for Battlestar Galactica. Absolutely fantastic tv.

Just Plain Bob

It is definitely over-hated.

Stick Figure Studios

I like it too.

Stick Figure Studios

Run-off poll? Road Warrior vs. Gi60S? I think RW could win without all those other choices. I refuse to believe more people prefer Gi60S. Has humanity fallen that far?

Richard Maurer

I'd support this.

Stick Figure Studios

Some good stuff coming up. I share your aunt and uncle's enthusiasm for ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN. It is the greatest film ever made about journalism and a powerful recreation of a harrowing but important episode in America's history. It also stars the Crackerjack acting team of Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Definitely check it out. THUNDERBALL is a great Bond film and adjusting for inflation still the highest grossing movie in the series. I do recommend it, but I would watch the very first Bond film DR. NO before it. I'd also suggest Roger Moore's FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and Pierce Brosnan's THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (these are the movies that should've won their respective polls instead of LIVE AND LET DIE and TOMORROW NEVER DIES). I've never been a fan of GONE IN 60 SECONDS myself, so I wouldn't recommend it. You might enjoy it though. Also, excited to see what's on the courtroom poll. Really hope THE VERDICT (with Paul Newman) is included... and maybe even wins. Finally, I am glad you are watching INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. While if may be the weakest of the whole series, it is not nearly as bad as its reputation suggests and is definitely still worth watching (I could even see you really enjoying it). Good for you. I am also very curious to see your reaction to both JEREMIAH JOHNSON (another Redford movie) and the winner of the Hitchcock poll (which is looking like it will be NORTH BY NORTHWEST, which will be your introduction to Cary Grant). It warms my heart that you are frequently managing to get to some great films amidst all of the pap (and occasional trash) on this channel. You are truly becoming a cinephile. Keep up the good work. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

You could watch Gone in 60 seconds.....ORRRRR, you could skip it and watch an actual good movie, like, say, Road Warrior. Yes, I'm still salty about it coming in third.

Richard Maurer

Cassie, I still think Jack Nicholson's portrayal of Melvin Udall in AGAIG is one of his best performances ever, alongside with that of the character Jack Torrence. Greg Kinnear also shows off his wonderful acting ability (in fact he is featured on Ashleigh Burtons' channel later this month, in "Little Miss Sunshine"). Just sayin'........😎💛

james flack

Jeremiah Johnson is one of my all time favorite movies. Made me want to be a mountain man when I was a kid!

Roger Freeman

I saw another reactor start Battlestar Galactica (reboot). I searched and there aren't many of them. So that could be really good or really bad for the channel. LOL. Personally I think it would be great since it is one of the best sci-fi shows of all time.

Mike Gallagher

No. It’s not. Unless you mean in a “Mystery Science Theater 3000” kinda way.

Just Plain Bob

1. Minority Report is excellent but I do hope you catch up with Rain Man at some point. 2. I find the victory of The Equalizer inexplicable; Road Warrior should have won that one. 3. I completely support your aunt and uncle in recommending All the President’s Men. 4. As Good as it Gets was considered problematic even at the time it was released; I have a feeling it’s going to seem even more problematic now. Speaking of Jack Nicholson, you might try some of his older films like Five Easy Pieces and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest - and did you ever see Broadcast News?

jdj830

We won't give Cassie any "I told you so!"s. Watching it is its own punishment.

Bill W

The remake is much more fun.

Mike Lemon

I like Indy 4 better than Indy 2. But I have generally questionable taste about most things. Will be good to be 'forced' to watch some Hitchcock (I've seen the obvious but none on the list I think), and the first Equalizer is a good flick, nothing to do with Chloe Grace Moretz being in it.

AdrianF

Looking forward to the vlog! Looking forward to The Equalizer! Looking forward to JJ! Looking forward to lunch! Lol, another great week on PiB! Also, 60 Seconds just might be watchable for me if you are reacting to it, and Thunderball would be a nice treat. Hey Family of Popcorn, don't forget to hit Like and Subscribe!

Dave

Thunderball is excellent and I second the opinion that you should watch it. Wonderful Bond flick.

China Andronicus

Your cousins are correct… The Bear is fantastic!! It is funny, heartwarming, chaotic and the cast acts their faces off. Highly recommend.

Mike Melfa

The hate for Indy 4 is richly deserved. South Park’s take on it is spot on. Also sad that Cassie’s considering watching the inferior remake of Gone In 60 Seconds instead of the far superior original. I know it was on the poll and I don’t care.

Just Plain Bob

Oh oh,oh... courtroom poll- Indictment: The McMartin Trial. An actually true story about one of the biggest cases in U.S. history.

Mike Lemon

Indy 4! FINALLY!!! :)))

Mike Hettenbach

I suppose to finish the series....but it gets even worse lol.

My_Cousin_Mose

Absolutely fantastic movie about a terrible time in the country’s history.

Just Plain Bob

Indina Jones 4????WHHHHHHHHYYYY????

MatthewBrown74m

Sounds like a great vacation! Please let us know asap when the live event will be (I had to switch up my work schedule to make the last one). I have never seen Jerimiah Johnson but I've seen it mentioned so many times on here I'm glad you're finally getting around to it. I believe Legend with Tom Cruise was also pulled from the same pillowcase...

My_Cousin_Mose

Have to watch Gone in 60 Seconds. Much better film. Should have won.

Jerrod Acree

I envy so much that you can escape to Canada during the sweltering Summers. Getting to see your family is a huge bonus to that.

Brian's Dog

So what if Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull has a bad rap. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and we look forward to your reaction. That's all that matters.

ROBERT CLARK

As controversial as it may be, I LOVE Indy 4!

Viet Ta

Love that you had so much fun in Montana! I was also there the past two days. Drove alongside the Flathead Lake - such a beautiful drive. I'm really looking forward to the Premiere vlog! Have a great week.

kaiielle

No Carly for North by Northwest? I won't be the only one crushed by that. Would even wait a week or two for that. But, if you go ahead and watch NbyNW, I implore you to watch very closely and carefully the first 7 minutes or so, because the key to the whole plot occurs right at the beginning. I am so so happy you are finally going to watch this Hitchcock classic! And finally see Cary Grant on the big (whatever size you have) screen!

Mike LL

I echo your aunt and uncle's recommendation for All the President's Men. A near-perfect film and one I can revisit endlessly. It's got my favourite Redford performance and it's got Jason Robards casually tossing out all-time great line deliveries every time he appears on screen.

Henry Graham

I was just in Montana at the big black foot river fly fishing it was fun I go twice a year.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Where in Montana? Sounds like maybe the northwest side of the state. I live in Billings. :)

Pk Madsen

Denzel Washington is great in THE EQUALIZER and even better in THE EQUALIZER 2, IMHO. Another great one is MAN ON FIRE which has a profound character arc for Denzel's character, and is deeper and darker. In all three of these films Denzel's character at least partially assumes a parenting role to a minor in real trouble who needs the kind of help only he can provide.

Richard Bourne

Are you guys going to watch Creed 3?

bailey

I support All the President's Men wholeheartedly! With your slumbering new fave Dustin Hoffman. 😉

Pickupthepieces76

Love this update, feels so summery. I do think you would enjoy The Bear, short with a ton of great characters packed into it. A little stressful though.

Tringard

You should definitely watch Gone In 60 Seconds. You'll love it.

Bryan Fritchie

Jeremiah Johnson... Celeste McAllister can you believe it???!!! 😄

Robin Craft

Jeremiah Johnson would be a challenge for you as there is limited dialogue in the movie.. But it's a great movie..

Jeff Rogers

OMG, 🐻🐎🏔️❄️ Jeremiah Johnson!! So old 😂 from maybe your 2nd or 3rd Livestream Pellowcase pull wildcard!?! Amazeballs! I love your community being validated by your family 😂 -- we're all just movie lovers at heart 😉

Jon Johns

Fun fact : thunderball(great film) and never say never again which was also a Connery movie whilst Roger moore was still bond I think are virtually the same film

LDC7080

Yes!!!! JEREMIAH JOHNSON!!!!
