UPDATEAPALOOZA

Hello my dear dear friends! Shhhhhheeeeesssshhh-ka-bob sorry I have not updated you sooner-it sure was a twister whirlwind with Ben's hospital stay, getting ready for Canada, travelling and NYC!! I am happy to be back in the motherland for a bit with family and grateful I can still watch movies with you while we are here plus Canadian tttrrreeeaaatttsss which are just superior!

This week just happened to be a bit of Tom Cruise week, not even on purpose you know, because WE JUST MET HIM last week!! That might get old soon, but NOT YET! Then I thought it was time Jackie N got some good guy vibes over here for my popcorn pick of the month!

I will be posting a video for a Planners App 51-100 poll this afternoon, that list is actually poppin and has so many I am excited about! During a YT premiere the other day came up with the idea for a Christopher McQ Letterboxd Poll after he mentioned it in the LIVE (see still can't stop talking about it, I'm sorry)

Package opening LIVE had to also get postponed due to Ben's hospital stay, everything was ready to go, we will have it as soon as we get back stateside!

I can't believe we are mid July already, I hope everyone's summer is going well so far, that your tan is golden brown and you have dipped your toes in at least 2 bodies of water! Kids start school back in less than a month, excited and dreading that all at once.

I want to say thank you as always for being here. For being so excited and supportive of us with the whole MI7 thing and for your always sunny comments, love you bunches of oats!

Cassie

Wow! Great movie lineup this week!

David Collins

Terms of Endearment is a really good movie.

Kristin D

Although I’m very happy Cassy is watching Rainman I’m interested to see her reaction to Tom Cruise as he’s not really a nice guy especially in the first half of the movie.

Dean Holt

Even though I think Nicholson is brilliant in this, I get what your saying as sometime Cassy gets that sucked into the film she thinks that’s what the person is like in real life 😂. This is also why I’m interested to see her reaction to Tom Cruise in Rainman as he’s not the nicest person in the first half of the movie.

Dean Holt

Hey Cassie, I don't know if this flick is the best for those Jack Nicolson vibes. But it's a great movie. Another Jack N flick you might like is "Terms of Endearment" I've been asking for 2 years for this one. Give my pick a chance. plus it's a family drama. You will love it. As for "Minority Report" this one is a fav of mine and I suspect it will get some tears flowing when you watch it but for expected and unexpected reasons. That's what makes it such a good movie. Sending you vibes for another great week of movie-watching. PEACE

KevG

What a great line up for this week!

David

I'm happy your trip went so well. I was thinking you guys were just going to be in attendance- crazy you guys actually talked with Tom Cruise. Great lineup this week! I'm SUPER picky about movies and entertainment so usually there's only 1 movie per week (sometimes none) that I'm interested in. This week you got 3 winners! I did recently watch Minority Report but oh well I guess I'm watching it again.

My_Cousin_Mose

Apparently I completely missed the Die Hard With A Vengeance full reaction from two weeks ago. Going to rectify that right now.

Timothy Burrows

Since we're back to asking for stuff I will once again plead for a Asian Martial Arts movie poll and a Classic Horror poll - we need to class these polls up a bit ;-)

Richard Maurer

My favorite Cruise movie, followed closely by Interview With a Vampire.

Richard Maurer

Who would've thought the Mets would be a disaster though

William Bryan

See you in September, friend. And then hopefully in October (That's God willin' and the creeks don't rise)......😉

james flack

Peace to the fam, I hope you have a great vacation and Canada is happy to have you back! Oh yea and you met McQ and Tom Cruise. That will never get old.

Erik Daniel

🥊🥊🤣🤣😜😜

William Bryan

Go White Sox! Yeaaaaaa..........Don't forget red from embarrassment....😁💛

james flack

I am so glad Ben is doing better. Excited for you to check out Rain Man.

Stuart Guthrie

That’s almost the only rewatch I would agree with!

Cole Jennett

Now that James Bond is finished up might I suggest: a rewatch of FIREFLY with Carly. That would be fun!

Evil Darth Carl

Really looking forward to Rain Man and you're a rockstar for juggling all that you have in the last couple of weeks! I'm sure that makes summer fly by even faster than it already does!

kaiielle

Ooh Minority Report. I hope you watch the next Cruise/Spielberg movie War of the Worlds too

Odd Thomas

Don’t ever stop mentioning your Tom Cruise-a-thon of a week. What an absolute joy it must’ve been for the both of you to be there. Can you imagine going back in time two years and telling your past self, as she’s about to sit in bed and watch a movie for the first time, that all of this leads to THAT!

Ria Grix

Good line up this week. Can't wait. I think As Good As It Gets will be your favourite, hands down. Any chance you're going to watch the second Jumanji movie soon? It's been a while since you watched the first one, and I'm dying to see your reaction to the sequel.

Luke Godfrey

It’s totally true that Kit Kat bars are so much better in Canada. I was just down in the U.S. and couldn’t believe the difference. Though Dot’s Cinnamon and Sugar Pretzels are to die for, and you can’t get them in Canada. So it’s a tie😉

Cole Jennett

I think you will really enjoy Rain Man and As Good As It Gets. 2 movies that don't follow the same old cliché

Hankster

Looks like an amazing upcoming week.. Can't wait to see the poll and your reaction to As good as it Gets!!!

Andrew Rose

Can you see if you can find the Google Drive link to Skyfall? It's probably slipped through the cracks with everything going on

Gunnar Rea

Rad!

Philip Alan

Have you seen the James Lipton / inside the actors studio episode with Hoffman - he tells a very emotional story involving Olivier, who everyone knew was dying, and Dustin knew he was saying farewell to one of his hero's. Fantastic episode

John Drake

Ahhhh... Cocktail... almost universally panned, but it's like comfort food to me. I really enjoy it (esp. the music).

Art of Free Speech

Are...are we going to pretend Collateral just doesn't exist?

mikethemotormouth

He started out as a highly in-demand screenwriter (he won an Oscar for THE USUAL SUSPECTS) and eventually became a director. His first film, WAY OF THE GUN, is a solid debut. His second film, JACK REACHER, is pretty great and helped solidify his friendship and working relationship with Tom Cruise. Before jumping in to the M:I franchise, he did a lot of script doctoring on other Cruise films.

Matt Rose

It's still probably my favorite film of his, though the original Top Gun is very close.

Art of Free Speech

Its going to be a great week. Love all three of those. Also highly recommend Valkyrie (2008) with Tom Cruise written by Christopher McQuarrie about the German Resistance plan to assassinate Hitler. Super tense and something I was totally unaware of in that part of history.

Blake Evans

Literally have never heard of Chritopher McQ until the video footage at the premier.

Bill W

Cassie has pics posted on her social media platforms... check them out.

Robin Craft

For TC - Taps, All the Right Moves, Risky Business. Cocktail should also be on your list. Btw - what Canadian treats? (poutine? Molson? Tim Hortons?)

2-Can

Lestat himself! I’m so happy for y’all but what a crazy few weeks! I hope y’all might end up watching Dead Reckoning in bed someday so we can keep the tradition alive! Nab some rest!

Morgan A. Colbert

@John @William. I'm watching Marathon Man right now for the umpteenth time. Hoffman, Roy Scheider ( Chief Brody from Jaws), Laurence Olivier was scary good.

Robin Craft

Yeah one or two good one in that list lol. Also might be an unpopular option but I actually prefer the Jack Reacher movies over this Mission Impossible films

Dean Holt

I know I will miss Carly in the RAIN MAN reaction just as much as I missed her in the ROMANCING THE STONE reaction. But it is what it is. I will take a RAIN MAN reaction however I can get it. A Chris McQ poll based on his "Tonight's Recommended Viewing" Letterbxd list, what a great idea, I don't know where you get such great ideas!! 😛😛😛😛 And most important, only 1, count them, only one action movie this week! Things are turning in the right direction at last!!

Mike LL

Hello Cassie, like I already once said, I'm so glad that Ben's doing okay! No worries at all with all the traveling, I knew it was going to be one heck of wild ride lol, never tried any Canadian treats before lol! I don't blame you for excitingly freaking out at the fact that you and Carly met Tom Cruise, I can relate because I still can't believe I met several of the cast from The Hobbit Trilogy back in 2014 lol, can't wait for the poll results and I'm looking forward to whenever you do your package opening again, I always love chatting with you during those live streams, I haven't gotten you and Carly any gifts just yet, I'm saving that for Christmas like last year, quite the line up you got going on! Looking forward for both Die Hard 3 and Lethal Weapon 3 edits! I to can't believe it's mid July already, unfortunately due to work, I haven't had the time to get a tan or jump in any bodies of water despite the fact I live on a lagoon lol! You're very welcome for all the love and support we patrons/fans/subscribers have been giving you and Carly when at the MI7 premiere! Like I also said, I saw the pics on FB and the live streams you did there, and HOLY MACKREL you and Carly just look absolutely beautiful, my heart skipped a beat lol! Have a great day, have a great week, love and support always to you and Carly, you're both the very best, and as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉👍🌹

Wesley White

You and I sir, are on the same page with those suggestions

Andrew Hogan

Fun movie. yeah, Cassie would like that one.

Matt Rose

Your life is starting to sound like a movie - or at least like one of those old-school sitcoms that had occasional celebrity cameos on the most improbable of premises. It sounds thrilling but exhausting; I hope you’re taking as good care of yourself as you are of your family and your audience. Anyway- glad to see that you’ve apparently decided to see both Rain Man AND Minority Report, because why choose? Both are essential parts of the Cruise canon, and I want to add to the chorus of people recommending Magnolia. Whatever ideas you have about Magnolia, it won’t be that. It’s not quite like anything you’ve seen on the channel. Some other ideas: at the beginning of your reaction to The American President you expressed some confusion about Rob Reiner. You have indeed loved all the films of his you’ve reacted to, and I’m assuming you’ve seen When Harry Met Sally and The Princess Bride in your deep dark past (and if you somehow haven’t put them on your list immediately). Which means that the one essential Reiner film you haven’t seen is This Is Spinal Tap, which would supply some good hearty laughs you could probably use around now. And since you like the political romcoms I think you would like Dave. That’s all for now - stay hydrated! Hope you’re successfully avoiding the wildfire smoke you guys are sending to us down here…..

jdj830

This is the feelgoodest of the feelgoodest. Spanish teacher will be in there as well cos she has the same dog too.

AdrianF

Hey, how’s it going under that rock you’ve been living under, lol.

Andrew Hogan

Collateral is great but I think Knight and Day would be perfect for Cassie.

Andrew Hogan

Magnolia, his best film, no, no, no sir, that would be Top Gun.

Andrew Hogan

Holy cow, I was just thinking how great it would be for Cassie and possibly Carly to watch As Good As It Gets, which is a fantastic film.

Andrew Hogan

I hope you've found some time to BREATHE with all that's been going on! Another solid week for both Pats and Youts (figure that one out) here in PIBland. Thanks, C+C, for all you do. You shine cuz you're the best!

Dave

Risky Business was Tom's breakout film. It's still entertaining.

Grinznmore

As Good As It Gets is fantastic!

David Crabtree

Marathon Man. Omg Cassie would lose her shit on the "is it safe" scene lol

William Bryan

You need to watch "As good as it gets" together. You both will love the movie, and that is a fact :)

Dioskur

I don't get tan. My Irish ancestory only allows me to get red and sunburnt 🤣

William Bryan

That’s amazing

Michael Lynch

Speaking of Tom Cruise, have you ever seen Jack Reacher (the movie, 2012, not the TV show)? I couldn't see it on your Letterboxd, but maybe you forgot about it..

Martin Nicholls

Herself and Carly got invited to the MI7 premiere & they met the cast including Cruise

John Drake

Hopefully Rain Man will lead to a Dustin Hoffman rabbit hole - Tootsie, Marathon man, Sleepers, Lenny, the graduate, All the Presidents men .... Extraordinarily talented actor

John Drake

Three great movies.

Bill Maurer

Great choice Cassie! "As Good as it Gets" is perfect for this channel . A delight and one I know you'll love

David Noone

Three awesome movies it’s going to be a great week. Not many of Tom’s movies left just Risky Business, Color of Money, Cocktail, Collateral, Both Jack Reacher films, Oblivion, American Made and Born on the 4th of July ok so they is a few left 😂😂. Also very jealous you got to me him and glad you both had a great time.

Dean Holt

Cassie: "I hope [...] you have dipped your toes in at least 2 bodies of water!" Except not the ocean, b/c we know how Cassie feels about sharks! 😉

Phil Stubblefield

Yes! Been a long time since I saw that movie, but definitely a unique performance from him... so much different from his typical roles.

Cory H

I know you've already watched it by this point, but I'll bet you enjoyed it MINORITY REPORT, it might have even blown your mind. It's one of the best films of both Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg (if you to watch their other collaboration, you should check out WAR OF THE WORLDS). RAIN MAN I am confident you will also love. It won Dustin Hoffman his second Oscar and won Best Picture. Finally, AS GOOD AS IT GETS is a delightful rom-com that won Jack Nicholson his THIRD Oscar and ought to finally show you a side of him you've yet to see in any of his performances. This should be a good week.

Stick Figure Studios

You should do an Audrey Hepburn poll as well! For...reasons ;) be safe traveling to Canada and back home! Have a ton of fun and most importantly, possibly the biggest must out of all the musts... Have a big bowl of buttery Canadian popcorn and watch something great 😃 Oppenheimer hits theaters soon and that is something that begs to be seen in IMAX.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Keep the Tom Cruise thing going with 1986 "Legend" starring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry. I think you will really like it.

Joshua s. Jackson

What’s all this about meeting Tom Cruise? Did I miss something?

Michael Lynch

Soooo when will we have the non-english poll you mentioned in April on the Livestream? 🙂

Björn Karlsson

In the immortal words of Howard Stern's mother: "You are doing too much!". My motto is the most important thing is to do is keep working (because we all need money to live) and to just relax at home when you can. Hopefully after the Canada trip you can be a home body for a while. Planning for trips and going on them can be stressful and costly. Also Godzilla 1954 isn't going to watch itself!😘😮😅

Todzilla

All winners you will enjoy. Happy to have you back.

nick bell

COLLATERAL. Cruise's best performance and arguably his best film. You'll be riveted.

Matt Rose

Can't wait for the two Cruise reactions coming up. Both superb films. Can I take this opportunity to pitch Magnolia again? The best film he's ever been in, for my money! It will be a real roller-coaster experience for Cassie.

Henry Graham

Hope Ben is doing well 🤞💙🙏.

Neil Varma

You are the best Cassie! You always make me smile!🤩
