[YT Edit] Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for EEAAO, which will premiere this evening. Had some copyright issues with this one, so we uploaded using the Patreon video player. Hope you enjoy!

Here is the full reaction to this movie.

[YT Edit] Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

Comments

Anyone who quits on a movie that quickly has a closed mind and is pretentious rather than sincerely interested in the art. I don't always agree with the Academy, but this time I think they got it absolutely right. This film is brilliant.

Jim Finley

One of the very rare Oscars & Globe winners movies where picky-audiences in Northern California actually walked out of the cinemas during noon matinees screening, some within 15min. Rank along Jerry McGuire & Monster Ball in term of underserved Oscars

Russell Teo

The genius of this movie isn't that it's a multiverse or a sci-fi movie, but that it is an emphatic statement in favor of existentialism over nihilism, and actually gets into both philosophies fairly well! Thanks for watching this one, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Rick Moreno

Now all we need is tool box. Or we could just stop calling people tools.

Richard Maurer

I haven't seen Flash yet so I don't what..... and don't tell me ;-)

Richard Maurer

Wow. Nice. You're a tool box.

Robert Nelson

Wholeheartedly agree about Kerry Condon's performance.

Damon

“Good Luck, Star Fighter.” (1984)

Uncle Phoenix

(17:09) Indeed, I too was surprised to see Cassie doing an Edgar G. Robinson impression. :-P

Happy Hanukkah

I thought this movie was okay, but not as good as everyone hyped it up to be. It felt like it went out of it's way to be weird imo.

Zac

When you imitated Edgar saying "sugar" I spit my drink out!

Mr. Book

I’m with Carly in that I also didn’t like it. But to me that’s what makes film magical. Taste is all subjective.

AC5555

26:53 "Please don't do gross things." 🤣 I flashed back to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFj_vFx8Tm0&t=699s

Happy Hanukkah

1:13 "I am going to watch everything, everywhere, all at once." Hmm. I'm concerned that you might burn yourself out... Bad-dumm-tss. 1:45 "Carly, sometimes, is wrong." Gasp! How dare you?!?! 2:49 "We have the best funnest community right there [Patreon], and we are having disaster days next week." I'm getting mixed signals here. 7:23 The one universal constant. :-)

Happy Hanukkah

I enjoyed Multiverse of Madness but the Multiverse aspects were barely explored and clearly set up for future projects like Deadpool 3. This film is a great beginning and end through and through set around the Multiverse. I actually prefer The Flash as a multiverse story to Multiverse of Madness besides you know what.

Isaac

I tend to agree about Jamie Lee Curtis. While I think she was good in this movie she was most likely given a "lifetime achievement award" for being in movies for so long. Stephanie Hsu, who played the daughter, definitely was more important to the film and deserved the award more.

Richard Maurer

I've seen a couple of Cynthia's films. She never really became well known outside martial arts movies so I wouldn't consider her real competition for Michelle Yeoh.

Richard Maurer

Cynthia Rothrock gave her a run for her money. She was in Yes, Madam! with Michelle Yeoh way way way back

rakeshldn

If you like indie multiverse movies. - Coherence. Its a great movie that deserved a wider audience.

rakesh

It was ok. I think it was overrated for what it was. Did Jamie Lee Curtis deserve the best supporting actress for this? I think it was a case of she's been around for a while, probably personally knows half of all the academy voting members and got the nod. The daughter did a better job and was one of the nominees. Kerry Condon in the banshees of inisherin and Hong Chau in the whale were both excellent and all three deserved it more imho.

rakeshldn

🤷

rakeshldn

Horrible movie? Hahaha you’re a tool.

Your editor deserves praise for their work on this movie. I mean the editing is top notch on the channel in general, but it must have been a challenging task to edit such a complex film as this, while preserving its essence. Not to mention going the extra mile, like creating matching overlays for the on-screen subtitles. 👏

Neither of them had an outstanding performance on YT but were not terrible either. From the 365 reactions so far: District 9 - 175th with 148K in 7m Amadeus - 208th with 119K in 8m L.A. Confidential - 231st with 102K in 10m Jojo Rabbit - 170th with 160K in 10m Ex Machina - 219th with 108K in 1y In the Line of Fire - 233rd with 101K in 1y

Gábor Árki

I would say many regard her as the best female action star ever. I can't even think of any real competition.

Richard Maurer

So I gather you didn't like Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness? It certainly seems that was the film (or one of the films) you were hinting at. I won't waste time arguing the merits of either film as that's a matter of opinion anyway. All I'll say is DS: MoM is a totally different type of film than EEAAO, and thus neither should be compared to the other. The only thing they really have in common is the multiverse playing a part in the film. It's like comparing Jaws to Old Man and the Sea - they both involve boats and fish and the comparison ends there. I guess you could say both DS: MoM and EEAAO involve superheroics as a real stretch, but by that metric DS: MoM would be the better film anyway.

Richard Maurer

I would recommend Cinebinge's reaction too. George pointed out (among other things) how Evelyn's critical relationship with her daughter is fairly typical of Chinese parents' relationships with their children. It helps to make sense of the movie to get some insight from someone who has insight into the culture.

Richard Maurer

I liked it too, if for no other reason than there were some movies you don't normally see on polls. Even if I didn't always vote for those movies I liked the verity. I suspect that 'Noms of Oscars past probably didn't do well, certainly not on YT, because of that reason - movies you don't normally didn't see on polls.

Richard Maurer

🤔

james flack

Horrible movie, great reation.

Robert Nelson

First time I saw it, I was stunned, too. Then I saw it in a theater with some friend and it made a lot more sense! I'm very glad, after all the movie put you through, you liked it anyway!

Judy M. Goodman

Love this movie, it really helped me anytime I felt overwhelmed. Very sweet and crazy Movie🤟💖.....Multi award wins all deserved. 👏👏👏👏👏P.I.B. nice touch with the text graphic at end 'part 3' ✌😎👍

Padraig Glennon

Also: If it took you until 31:45 to recognize JLC, I guess she earned that Oscar. Her first ever nomination, btw. You should definitely check her out in A Fish Called Wanda (1988), a great comedy with Kevin Kline and some of the Monty Python alums.

David Conroy

In addition to being the prospective mother-in-law in Crazy Rich Asians and a bond girl, Michelle Yeoh made a lot of martial arts movies in her early days in Hong Kong films. Some of us still think she was the best female action star ever, so of course for us there's an extra level to watching her discover the martial-arts-movie-star version of herself in this film.

David Conroy

“Did?” “Was?” “Yep, Yep”. 😂

Brian McGovern

Everything Everywhere All at Once is the a Multiverse film done right. It's annoying because we have Multiverse films releasing from everyone now but they're the same thing over and over again filled with pointless cameos and fan service over the story. But then you dive into comics and read stuff like Crisis on Infinite Earths, Exiles, Spider-Verse, The Age Of Apocalypse, Days Of Future Past, and Flashpoint to name a few and there so creative and amazing that it pains to see how studios are handing the multiverse in live action. So thankfully we have Everything Everywhere All at Once and Across the Spider-Verse (Btw can't wait for you're reaction to that) two amazing films that push for being creative and fun while also emotional and deep. I can watch both of these films again and again and keep seeing news things each time. Small budget Indie team making a Multiverse film shows that a creative story with great writing, emotion, and jut fun humour will always be better than random cameos from big budget studios.

Isaac

Yes, you’re supposed to be confused, as confused as she is by everything going on. But at it’s core it’s just about accepting the life you’re living right now. It manages to hold all the crazy, the weird, the humour, and the sadness all in the same pot.

Ria Grix

Well I was bummed I didn't have time to watch the full length reaction. I will at some point. But man oh man am I glad I at least caught your Edgar "sugar" impression. Of course, we figured you would love Waymond, such a sweet dude just like Ke Huy Quan. Fighting with kindness, that's just your style.

Erik Daniel

Good reaction! Very good movie about generational trauma and breaking the cycle. Confusion or chaos in one’s life that drives them to make their decisions is evident in this movie. I had to watch it twice. I don’t say Carly was wrong she just might not have had the perspective to enjoy it. The movie is not for everyone.

Leonard

I love Carly, but I don't think she was right about this one.

Stick Figure Studios

Nicely done Cassie! Your confusion is understandable. I loved this movie when I watched it the first time, but I really didn't appreciate everything in it until I saw it a few times. Watching some of the other YouTube reaction video teams pointed out a number of things I had missed. In particular, I recommend the reaction from Angelina and the one done by Chinese With Jessie. The reaction by Jessie and her partner is particularly interesting, he (Lee) was able to identify a lot of the less obvious movie homages that appeared in EEAAO. For example, they point out how the alleyway scenes between CEO Waymond and Kung Fu Evelyn were similar to the work of director Wong Kar Wei.

Michael Gilbrook

It's been a while since the full reaction. How many edits/attempts have you gone through? Given the topic of Oscar winners. Cassie, any chance of reviving last year's 'Noms of Oscars Past' series? Maybe not monthly, but quarterly. I really enjoyed the variety it brought.

Gábor Árki

A bright, colorful, weird, exciting, imaginative and surprisingly moving romp. I loved this movie. So glad you liked it too. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Uuuuhh, Carly was right, haha.

Tom Holman

This is a film that you could watch 1000 times and every time you notice something new. Maybe something you needed to see finally hits you.. the amount of attention to detail is amazing. All of the awards for the cast and crew were well deserved.

Michael Taylor

Full reaction is up on patreon I watched it this morning :)
