Poll at the OK Corral (Poll A)

I'd like to welcome everybody to the Wild Wild West!

After Carly and I loved Tombstone so much and not getting as much Western as I want in Mando this season, we're doing it....Another Western Poll. There will be more, so don't worry if you're favorite isn't one of these!

THIS IS POLL A, ALSO GO VOTE ON POLL B, THE TOP TWO FROM EACH WILL FACE OFF IN A CHAMPIONS POLL!

Could be fun! Ends on Thursday at midnight MST

Ps. I have seen the newer True Grit, that new one with Chris Pine-Hell or High Water, and of course on the channel-Tombstone, Unforgiven, The Good The Bad and The Ugly and our winner from our last Western Bracket:MAVERICK!

1,2,3 Draw

Comments

That's a great film. A little different from the typical Western tropes and stereotypes but really well made and entertaining.

BRT

missed the poll but 3:10 won either way! nice!

Connor P

yeah, lets watch a movie where everyone sits in a hotel room for hours

zynjams

3:10 to yuma is one of my favourite westerns and westerns r one of my least fav genres but I feel like this is one with more depth and better characters than a lot of others I've seen

Martin kearney

well, I missed the opportunity to vote, so I'll just give a pass on the REMAKE of 3:10 to Yuma. How it beat out the others I have no idea. I mean, Quigley Down Under had Alan Rickman, and I thought everybody got all wobbly over Snape. Who Shot Liberty Valance and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are classics... and The Outlaw Josey Wales is probably the best western in the poll.

Jim Williams

Woah!! I misread that the whole time. I thought only the two winners were going head to head. Cool!!

Larry Darrell

This was the preliminary. Top two is going to the championship poll, so given how close it was, it still has a chance.

Gábor Árki

👍👍

Larry Darrell

Damn! I really wanted Butch and Sundance. We already know from The Sting that Cassie likes Robert Redford and Paul Newman

Tara

Too bad we couldn't vote for more than one option. I think it would have made a big difference in the results

Sean Novack

There, now I feel better as we understand each other - that is I disagree with your points , just as you disagree with mine. Now we can peacefully agree to disagree and move on.

Richard Maurer

Nothing against Butch and Susanne, it’s a great film. But I think 3:10 is a more grown up movie and will get a great reaction from Cassie, though I hope we get both sisters!

Biggman83

You just like to argue, don't you? We Had Peace! I Agreed with Everything you said in your previous post. Truly I did. Now you want to go and add Polarity, after the fact... (Sigh) Well Fine. We'll do that too. Feel Free to Correct Me, if I get this wrong. You're saying, if a Reactor has a Pleasant Experience watching a film, then that CAN equal to an Uninteresting Reaction. Well then I don't agree with that. How can watching someone be Happy and Enjoy Themselves, be Bland and Boring? Anyone who thinks that is just Grumpy, and needs Snow White in their lives. The Other Side of this Coin is, if a Reactor has an Unpleasant Experience watching a film, then that CAN equal to an Interesting Reaction. I don't agree with that either, but... I might understand it, only its definitely not for me. Anyone who enjoys watching a Reactor be Uncomfortable and Squirm, during a film experience, without an Emotional Reward in the End or without having a lasting Overall Pleasant Memory of the film... Well, I was going to use a word to describe such a person, but decided it was too harsh. So, I'll just say again, It's not For Me. So, do I have to Return this Lovely Agreement Cake that I bought for us to Share? Or do we Buy our Own Cakes and Agree to Disagree?

Larry Darrell

Serious 😂🤣

Victor Garcia

Well I thought about letting you purposely misinterpret my post go, but I just can't. A reactor being pleased isn't necessarily a good reaction, as I've already stated, If fact some of the most boring reactions are of reactors watching something in their comfort zone which isn't interesting to me at all. I'm sorry but Cassie watching rom-coms is about the most boring thing I can think of for a reaction. Quigley down under was the safest choice for her to watch and therefore the most boring choice to watch. But none of this matters anyway because it thankfully lost.

Richard Maurer

Someone who doesn't appreciate a good story.

Joseph Rardin

Snorefest 😴

John Cranberry

Hey! We are Agreed. Cool. I thought We were going in different directions. If a Reactor is Pleased then it’s an Interesting Reaction. Yes, Absolutely. And We Both want to pick Films that are Interesting to Ourselves AND Cassie to Watch. This was Fun. :-) :-) :-) 👍

Larry Darrell

Except I'm not only thinking of myself, I'm thinking of what film I think will be the most interesting for me AND Cassie to watch. I'll always pick something I think will make a more interesting reaction over one where it's basically her talking about how nice of a film this is the whole time. As you yourself said these are all good films, and I think Cassie will probably enjoy any of them, so why try to narrow it down to the one I THINK Cassie will enjoy most. I guess you and I just have fundamentally different ideas of what a reactor channel is for. You think it's to pick films to please the reactors, I think it's to pick films that will make interesting reactions.

Richard Maurer

Every one of these films in both Polls, I find Entertaining. I’m pretty sure she will Enjoy all of them, as well. This has been like comparing an Orange to Three Tangerines. Whatever the outcome, I’m gonna be happy with it. Quentin Tarantino said something about Westerns that I think is true. “One of the things that is actually really exciting about the Western Genre is that, probably more than any other genre there is, even though they all take place 100 or something years ago, Westerns reflect the decade in which they were made, more than musicals, more than period dramas, more than even comedies.” This is what I thought of when I saw what Films were in the Poll. And trying to figure out what kind of Western, I want Cassie to watch, that would be the most Fun for All involved. I get a certain kind of Personal enjoyment out of watching films alone. But, when I watch a film with someone else, my enjoyment wages on whether or not the other person is enjoying it or not. I don’t like to laugh alone, or cry alone while watching a movie, unless I’m Alone. That’s how I vote. I Encourage Others to THINK of More than just themselves, and The only thing I Really Want… is Cassie and Carly to Enjoy Themselves :-)

Larry Darrell

@ Celeste - I would vote for The Magnificent Seven, but I don't know if it would win. My guess is 3:10 to Yuma would probably win by a narrow margin.

Richard Maurer

@ Larry - unfortunately she's already seen Unforgiven so it's probably too late to keep that door closed. Not to rehash an old argument but I think that a comedy western like Maverick was a equally bad, or worse, representative of the genre than Unforgiven. As for Overall entertaining - that is more a matter of opinion than fact. Obviously I think 3:10 is the most entertaining film in this poll that can possibly win (I wouldn't be upset if Butch Cassidy won though), but as to whether Cassie will find it more entertaining I prefer not to speculate on that, as I believe that while it's possible to make educated guesses, they're still guesses and that is just not how I pick movies in reactor channel polls. I think you want to structure the polls themselves in a way in which older films only are allowed before newer ones and I don't really see that happening unless you can somehow convince Cassie to change to that format. That's probably not going to happen either.

Richard Maurer

Will 3:10TY win over The Magnificent Seven?

Celeste McAllister

Come on Butch and Sundance!

Celeste McAllister

SAFE, as in “Overall Entertaining “ is what I’m talking about. Don’t know about the other kind. The War Poll obviously is a tough and hard subject, and I figure Cassie knows this, Obviously. The Western Genre is a little more new to her. It has been around for a Long, Long time though. So long that the format has been done in every possible way. (ie, Firefly). My Question, not answer, is… is it better to go down the Western Trail starting at the End, where known Elements are twisted and reversed or at the Beginning, so that you may understand a little better why something was twisted and reversed? Or is there a Middle Ground? Without going into detail, 3:10 to Yuma (1957) vs. 3:10 to Yuma (2007) is good place to look I think.

Larry Darrell

To be fair though, 3:10 to Yuma isn't exactly a risky film for her to watch, in fact nothing in this poll really is. Personally I think Quigley Down Under is the least of the films in this poll, and isn't going to win anyway, so I will stay with 3:10. It's funny that you mention her war movie polls that she does of her own volition - not exactly a safe genre, for the most part. We're really talking about two different issues here - Safe as in it's a fair assumption that Cassie will enjoy it, in which I think a lot of people underestimate her, and Safe as in it's too much for her, as the White Knights put it, which is basically treating a grown woman like a child who needs to have her films censored for her. I'm not at all fond of either position, although the too much for her! thing irritates me much more than the she'll like this one the best! thing. But I seriously doubt if one challenging film watched in a western poll would be enough to make her quit, and if it is then she should quit, because most good westerns tend to have a harder edge to them and she probably can't handle the genre anyway.

Richard Maurer

Hell yeah, let’s keep it going for 3:10 to Yuma

Victor Garcia

Gonna throw this out there..John Wayne in The Cowboys. For future consideration.

JW

That Don't Make Sense, Philip.

Larry Darrell

It's Better for the Long Run though. It's been More than a Year since Cassie has WANTED to watch a Western. Only after she was "forced" to watch Tombstone and liked it, and noticed a Western vibe in The Mandalorian (something I'm not watching, but if she says so), She is now in a Western mood. SAFE is probably a Good Bet, if you want her to stick around, and possibly do a Western Poll as often as the War Movie Poll. She is still in the Wining and Dining phase with Westerns. Nothing wrong with trying to make Her Happy Right Now. We can always go to a Bull Fight on another date, after she has learned some more about Westerns. Also, SAFE All the Time can be Boring. But, SAFE is NOT Always Boring.

Larry Darrell

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. How is it not higher!? Jimmy Stuart, The Duke, and Lee Marvin!? A classic western.

Timothy Williams

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are the best love story. Break your hear t love story. but so it Liberty Valance.

Matt Mabry

The music for 3:10 to Yuma is worthy of my vote alone.

DaftBasterd

I know I like 3:10 To Yuma more than Quigley Down Under. Not everyone here follows the Vote for movies you're sure Cassie will like strategy. It's a little too safe in my opinion. And playing it safe all the time can be boring.

Richard Maurer

Wow. You really think they’ll like 3:10 To Yuma more than Quigley Down Under?

Brian Lowery

All the good ones are in Poll A man!!!

Steve Barrett

Boo

John Cranberry

No love for Clint on these polls?

Mark Sylvester

Because it's not the best movie here?

Philip G.

If you’re in line to vote for Butch and Sundance, stay in line!!!!

Alex Villarreal

Quigley Down Under is one of my favorite movies and you'd love it. Ignore the votes!

Colin Gutierrez

Do not let Butch Cassidy lose, people!

Joon S

Quigley!

Tuck Tucker

Very disappointing Quigley isn't doing better in the poll.

Dustin Denner

Pulling for Butch & Sundance,if there's a tie we may get a third movie in the runoff. :)

Celeste McAllister

Quigley Down Under is 100% “your jam”, Cassie.

Christopher B.

Paul Newman and Robert Redford being two of the most beautiful creatures on earth.

Morgan A. Colbert

We have to watch it together buddy, no one in this poll has any real taste. 😒

John Cranberry

How is Quigly Down Under not winning. It's Tom Selleck!!! 😉

John Cranberry

I hope they get to Shane before too long. Like the John Ford westerns, it's almost in its own class. George Stevens was a great director.

Tom Holman

Out of this Poll Cassie would love Quigley for the ramance

Tony Olmos

Yes! Wind River would be an amazing reaction from her. And the other two you mentioned as well.

Jeff I.

No love for Shane ?

Rob Harris

She's seen Hell or High Water. Just need her to react to Sicario, Wind River, and No Country for Old Men.

Brent Petty

A good, and shorter, sci-fi western series is Brisco County Junior. Starring Bruce Campbell.

Captain Caveman

Agree. It's funny, I always liked Glenn Ford, but the movies he was in never really grabbed my attention. 3:10 to Yuma was a happy exception to that rule.

Tom Holman

I got mixed up there.

Captain Caveman

I'm disappointed. I think Cassie will really like it. She likes Jimmy Stewart, and she hasn't yet seen the tough Western side of John Wayne. Anyway, I really like it.

Michael Weiner

I have a western series suggestion for Cassie, the original Lone Ranger. 😄😄😄

Joseph Rardin

I have. I really like it, but 3:10 to Yuma is better imo.

Joseph Rardin

Neck and neck. I know 3:10 to Yuma is newer, but I have it in my top 5 of all time Westerns. It is a very good story.

Joseph Rardin

I can only think the reason Liberty Valance isn’t doing better is because most folks here haven’t seen it 🤷‍♂️

Brian O'Grady

100% agree, although with the two polls today, I feel like a kid in a candy store. I could watch them all, there will be no losers.

David Collins

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is such a classic, it must be watched. It's one of the OG buddy movies. But I voted for 3:10 to Yuma. That movie is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. Score is mesmerizing and the acting is stellar.

David Collins

Well, I wasn't replying to you, Jason, I would have @ you if I was. I was just making a general comment which I stand by. But I'll be more blunt - Cassie is clearly doing the number of older movies that she is comfortable with, judging by the endless amount of times this same more older movies argument gets made without any noticeable change in the number she watches, or puts in polls. If this isn't good enough for anyone here, I don't know what to tell you because I doubt at this point it's going to change anytime soon..

Richard Maurer

Oops, I see that you've seen it.

Robert Nelson

Absolutely love the remake of True Grit, though John Wayne's version is classic, too.

Robert Nelson

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is a true classic and also a great introduction to John Wayne for you. It also features a very wistful love story(ies). The female lead is Vera Miles, who played the sister in Psycho.

Tom Holman

I haven’t seen HSB recently. The Sgt. Esterhaus roll call scenes are classic. China Beach would be a good series, and the soundtrack is really good.

Dan Waller

Absolutely agree with your assessment of 3:10 to Yuma (2007). Always overlooked when it comes to great western films.

Terdell Ferguson

3:10 to Yuma and the Quick and Dead for me! 3:10 is a masterpiece and overlooked in my opinion. Quick and the dead is just fun!

Biggman83

The #1 movie the week I was born.

Stick Figure Studios

I’ll disagree with you Doug.

Larry Darrell

Another great movie. Also had Lee Marvin, a young Lee Van Cleef and Strothers Martin plus Woody Strobe

Bill Maurer

3:10 to Yuma (2007) with Russell Crowe and Chrisitan Bale - Along with Unforgiven and Open Range - is one of my top three westerns. Absolutely a great one. No disrespect to Butch and Sundance or any of the others, but 3:10 to Yuma gets my vote here. I will die on this hill.

Terdell Ferguson

Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, director John Ford - The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is a great film. "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." John Ford alo directed The Quiet Man.

Terry Wood

People have been wanting her to watch Butch and Sundance for so long, that was an obvious one. 3:10 to Yuma is the unexpected Recent Ringer. Liberty Valance is probably gonna have to be among all other older films to do better, sadly.

Larry Darrell

Great movie. One of my favorites.

Rick Williams

I also voted for Quigley for the same reason. I figured Cassie and Carly would like it the best.

Rick Williams

😕

Rick Williams

Quigley Down Under is a great movie. And it has romance. Cassie and Carly would love it.

Rick Williams

Understood, I been trying to get them to watch 1986 "Legend" starring Tom Cruise for a couple of years now, I think they love it.

Joshua s. Jackson

Agreed

Joshua s. Jackson

Quigley Down under is really good.

Joshua s. Jackson

If you liked Tombstone you would probably also like "Silverado". As with Tombstone, many big stars in that movie.

Richard Bourne

C'mon, she HAS to see Quigley Down Under... she'd LOVE that film!

Mark Schamber

The master of the straw-man argument at work… I patronize four reactors and used to support a fifth. Cassie is, by far, the “biggest” in terms of patrons and YT subscribers. As such, she is best positioned to use her capital to watch the movie she wants on occasion. That’s all I’m saying. And I wouldn’t even say that if the polls here weren’t so consistently pointless.

Jason Chirevas

You're all ignoring the fact that when she started this channel Cassie said she wanted to be challenged, and voting for movies you think she'd like over any other consideration is not challenging. I vote what I like first, and hope she'll like it too. And while this doesn't always end up in a win-win situation, I think the times when she surprises, like her 300 reaction, make it all worthwhile. Much better than playing it safe all the time anyway.

Richard Maurer

Westerns aren’t my genre, but I hope Young Guns ends up on your radar as well😊

Cole Jennett

I'm sorry but if Cassie consistently watched older movies her YT numbers would tank, there's no getting around that. The fact that she even puts older movies in her polls is more than most reactors do. And she does do polls with nothing but older movies on occasion, again more than most reactors do. Also, can we please not go down the tired all new movies suck road? The Batman and Everything Everywhere All At Once, for instance, happened to be really good movies. People talk about the bias for newer movies here, meanwhile they just have a bias against them and for older movies. It comes down to personal taste and neither side is right or wrong.

Richard Maurer

@ Sean Novack - truth is all the choices in this poll are good. I'll keep an eye on the poll and if Josey Wales surges I'll switch my vote.

Richard Maurer

This is the west, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance gets my vote.

G

3:10 by a whisker but Butch & Sundance a close second

Odd Thomas

Interesting you bring up Hill Street Blues. My favorite show when it came out. I recently watched the first season again...I'm sorry, but it just doesn't stand the test of time. It seemed very dated to me.

Doug Cook

Having recently watched Butch Cassidy...I found it to be very dated as many 70's movies are. It was a pretty good movie in its time...but didn't stand the test of time in my opinion. Whereas The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance will always be a great movie.

Doug Cook

Very disappointed that Liberty Valance isnt doing better. How can you go wrong? John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin and directed by John Ford. To me, its the best Western ever made. And one that I know Cassie and Carley would appreciate.

Doug Cook

Jon Johns, duly noted.

Gary David Holbrook

I certainly take Cassie and Carly's enjoyment into consideration but If I love movie A and have never seen or don't care for movie B you can bet I'm voting movie A. And so often theres only 1 movie (or none) on the poll I even like.

My_Cousin_Mose

@Jon Johns: Hey Ump, I think a warning should be issued to both benches in this particular case.

Sean Novack

I have the same experience Bruce. Quigley is a classic and everyone seems to love it. It’s also got all of the right elements to make a very good reaction. I’m sure it will be reacted to at some point.

JC762

@Richard Maurer: There are still more than 2 days left in the poll, vote for what you want! Most were asleep when it went up and they're at work now. They haven't even seen the poll yet!

Sean Novack

Yeah, that would have gotten my vote.

Stick Figure Studios

Recency bias.

Stick Figure Studios

John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin, Vera Miles, Lee Van Cleaf, Strother Martin and the underrated Woody Storbe all directed by the great John Ford

Bill Maurer

Top 3 western for me.

Stick Figure Studios

I don't think that's odd. If there's a movie we really love, it's a natural instinct to enjoy sharing that movie with someone else and seeing them enjoy it too. So of course people vote for their favourite movies in the polls - they're trying to share what they think is best.

Hondo the Cat

I also voted for Quigley -- because I think it is the most fun. While I didn't specifically take the girl's tastes into consideration, I have to believe fun is fun and in this case, that means Quigley. I recently read that Quigley is terribly underrated and this poll suggests that is true (although I have never met anyone who saw it and didn't love it).

Bruce C Snell

If you want to watch 3:10 to Yuma watch the original. The remake is a joke.

gary crow

My vote went to Quigley Down Under -- I'm surprised it's not doing better. I've never met anyone that saw it and didn't love it. Maybe because it's set in Australia......

Bruce C Snell

Clint Eastwood's best Western and probably best movie

Bill Maurer

Hey there Gary, if you cannot be kind to other patrons, in replies, or other comments, you should consider not commenting at all. 'sarcasm' never translates well in text, btw. Sincerely, an official hall monitor. (Yes, I am a channel moderator, and my job here is to make sure everyone behaves in a welcoming and kind manner.)

Jon Johns

The Outlaw Josie Wales. Clint Eastwood is the star but Chief Dan George almost steals the show. Some of his lines are pure gold!

Paul Mellette

I think you should just watch them in order of the year they came out. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance stars John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart (George Bailey from Its a Wonderful Life). Have you seen any John Wayne movies? He's great, but should be proceeded by a warning label - a bit like Sean Connery. Definitely a product of (and major influencer on) his time. Quigley Down Under (starring Tom Selleck) is also a lot of fun, but its almost an homage to Westerns.

Matthew S Graham

My contention for some time has been, with 3400 patrons and 303K YouTube subscribers, if Cassie wants to watch 3:10 TO YUMA or OPEN RANGE, she should just watch them. It’s silly to have these forgone-conclusion polls when Cassie could just watch what interests her and then, down the line, get our help on something older or more obscure. These polls, as constructed, are pointless.

Jason Chirevas

Team Butch & Sundance! I hope Jeremiah Johnson isn't taking being left out again personally,jk.♡

Celeste McAllister

“Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?” - that line can’t be beat. The Outlaw Josey Wales all the way.

Wes Stewart

couldn't agree more.

Robert Moore

I have similar thoughts most of the time. There is often a big difference between the best reaction and the best movie. For example, various Kurosawa films may indeed be good, or important or historical, etc but I serious doubt they would make for good reactions so I would not suggest them. On the other hand things like last action hero, bill and teds, or grosse pointe blank etc may not be great films overall but I believe they will likely make great reactions.

JC762

You must see "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"! This is a true classic! And it is very entertaining, I have watched this movie repeatedly and never tire of it!

Michael Gilbrook

Agreed 100%.

Larry Darrell

She’s aware of it. Just forgot to add it. She said next time.

Larry Darrell

Tom Selleck is a Natural in a Western Role. It’s a shame he isn’t more well known for it.

Larry Darrell

I can’t believe that The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance isn’t doing better! It’s a John Ford directed movie staring John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart. A director whose name is on most classic westerns, the actor whose name is synonymous with the western genre, and one of the greatest actors Hollywood has ever seen-not to mention that the movie is just really, really, really amazing-this film is a masterclass in westerns. I can only conclude that not many have seen it. Every time I rewatch it, I just say ‘wow’. Watching classic John Ford and John Wayne westerns is kind of required-it’s impossible to overstate how much the director and actor influenced literally every Western made since.

Tinkerbell

Exactly. Me too.

Armchair Wizard

I find it interesting that quite a few people here have stated that they want the movie that they enjoy the most to be featured as a "first reaction" by Cassie & Carley. I vote differently. I've been following this Patreon long enough to get a sense of what the girls would enjoy, and I try to vote in that manner. My enjoyment comes from the reactions of the girls as they watch something THEY have never seen. Everyone else has pretty much seen every movie on all of these polls, and seems to be voting on which one THEY liked the most, versus which movie the ladies would enjoy. With the exception of 3:10 to Yuma, all of the movies on this list are great movies, but I voted for Quigley solely because I felt it would be the one the girls enjoy the MOST their first time watching.

Dan

No love for Josey....

nick bell

I've never understood tying your content to polls. And that's for any reactor. If you want to see a movie (and you obviously WANT to watch "Open Range", you said you voted for it), just watch it. It's your channel, your content.

Miles E Coburn

Honestly, the demographics of this medium seems to naturally skew towards the most popular / hyped / recent movies. Just look and see how many reactors have done "Top Gun:: Maverick", "The Batman", "Everything Everywhere All At Once", etc. etc. Those are the results you get when your content is driven by polls. Yet, I've seen a number of reactors, when they've gotten out of their "vox populi" mode and watched older, movies, such as "Psycho", "Rear Window", the original "Planet of the Apes", etc., they have loved them. But tying themselves to poll results will get them more views, grow their channels, and what not. It's the nature of the beast.

Miles E Coburn

Definitely The Outlaw Josey Wales

Stuart Guthrie Jr.

Butch Cassidy is one of the great classics and a must see. Please watch this one!!

China Andronicus

Hoping that Silverado will at some point pop up in a poll too, Jennifer. Great cast and story, I think Cassie would love it, but it's kind of a sleeper gem too so I'm not surprised it doesn't get a whole lot of mention (except in these comments, lol.)

Ian Hunter (NewbieInOttawa)

Silverado?

Jennifer Ralph

David David David, I am coming to the conclusion that, bless your heart, you are having a problem digesting what I am saying. I'll blame that, for now, on this digital medium. If we were face to face, and you could actually detect the lightheartedness in my words, you may not have opened up this can of worms in the first place. Let me try to assist. First of all, the actual definition of "badger" is to "repeatedly ask (someone) to do something; pester," as in "David had finally badgered her into going." As I kindly stated above, only ONCE did I make an initial comment in each of the western polls. Once. Only once. Not repeatedly. Next, I kindly asked you what the (or your) definition of an "asshat" was, or is. I don't believe that I have ever seen an asshat, and I have no clue what an asshat is. Your response was only to detail WHY you called me an asshat, but you have yet to give me a definition of what an asshat is. Thirdly, and to be completely honest, and on occasion, I was a hall monitor during my days at Westlawn Elementary School in Fayettevillle, NC. What's wrong with being a hall monitor? For your own sake, please don't let someone manipulate you this easily, my online friend, it's truly not worth it, in the long run. This is a "reaction" website, for gosh sakes, it's supposed to be fun, not stressful. Fun. However, David, I will take this conversation down the rabbit hole as far as you want. Or, we can both just walk away. Your choice, my friend.

Gary David Holbrook

I would take all of Poll A over any from Poll B. These are all really great.

John Deardurff

And by the way Cassie, if you put up a poll for a TV drama series, please consider including Hill Street Blues Season 1. This series changed the way modern TV dramas are produced. It can be intense, but it breaks up the tension with quirky comedy. The cast is brilliant.

Dan Waller

I didn’t vote for Quigley because I had to vote for Mag7, but the great Alan Rickman played the villain in Quigley…

Dan Waller

For Westerns, there are so many Clint Eastern westerns - you could have a poll of JUST his westerns,... that would fill up a couple of polls,... Although, John Wayne was also fairly prolific in making Westerns - a lot of his earlier westerns weren't really good though. He does have a few diamonds in there - enough to fill a poll by himself.

ENC SW DV Rush

Personally, I think because The Man who shot Liberty Valance is a black and white and older, too many people have never seen or heard of it - but it is a great movie with BOTH John Wayne & James Stewart,... It also has quite a few other named actors of the day as supporting cast as well. Even if you don't watch it for Patreon or on a poll - it is a must watch at some point,... As for the newer 3:10 to Yuma - it is ok, Quigley down Under is pretty good, The outlaw josey Wales is a bit more gritty but a good revenge/redemption movie, and Butch Cassidy is loosely based on a true story,... If The man who shot LV doesnt win, I would prefer Quigley Down Under, I think this would be the one Cassie would enjoy the most out of the list.

ENC SW DV Rush

How anyone could vote for Tom Selleck over Jimmy Stewart is mind boggling.

Robert Moore

It seems the youtube audience does not skew to cinephiles, something I also find frustrating.

Elliot Nesterman

This is another poll in which the best movie is getting clownishly buried because no one here has seen it. I continue to be frustrated by — and increasingly, just don’t understand why we have — these polls in which an obvious ringer wins. 3:10 TO YUMA (2007) isn’t even the best movie called 3:10 TO YUMA let alone the best western on this list.

Jason Chirevas

Well, you have 2 of my favorites on this list, but I think Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is right up yer trail, but still I'ma votin' fer the Josie Wales.

Robert Jewell

I’ve been wanting you to see the Newer 3:10. I hope it winsssss!!

Chad Bailey

Defiance is 80's western, with a love story. Please add this to the list.

Allen Bond

I think it is a Cassie and Carly movie, and they both would love it.

Mike LL

Yes, this would be a better reaction than some (or all) pf the newer movies, but most are voting for their favorite movies.

Mike LL

1000%! Cassie would love it!

Liberty Valance is a true love story. I am sure you and Carley will enjoy it.

Matt Mabry

Butch and Sundance all the way! After all, the famous film festival is named for it.

Dan Waller

I hope 3:10 wins. My favorite of these westerns.

Yaisu

Great selection Cassie. Though if I may, if you ever do another Westerns poll, please include "High Noon" (1952). A classic I know you'll enjoy.

Jake McNulty

3:10 is such a great film and great cast

Rick

BC & SK is such a monumental classic film... pop culture references are found across seemingly every other genre - it's kinda a must! (and oh yeah, it establishes Paul Newman and Robert Redford as that generation's Cloney & Pitt) - Cassie, remember how you LOVED 'The Sting!').

Terry Yelmene

Anything but 3:10 to Yuma. Snorefest. I voted for Quigly because it is the best movie 🥳

John Cranberry

BUTCH CASSIDY is one of my top 10 favorite westerns, so it's getting my vote (and after Cassie loved THE STING, ots long overdue). Some other great ones here (LIBERTY VALANCE and JOSEY WALES), but please, folks, let us not subject Cassie to the remake of 3:10 TO YUMA (or at least until after she's seen the original). We all know she will hate it and why.

Stick Figure Studios

Romantic, so hopeful, and a real sense of location.

Promiscuous

BUTCH CASSIDY is one of my top 10 favorite westerns.

Stick Figure Studios

I vastly prefer the original 3:10 TO YUMA to the remake. I'm confident she would also prefer the original.

Stick Figure Studios

3:10 to Yuma is my choice

Robert da Spruce

This wouldn't pertain to a movie poll, but if you're looking for a new series to check out the miniseries LONESOME DOVE is one of the finest Western stories ever filmed. Fantastic cast as well.

Patrick Flanagan

"The Outlaw Josey Wales" is my pick. Great 70's stuff, gritty and grusome - and a great performance by Clint Eastwood in the lead.

Jens Kristensen

Oh ye of little faith! The poll is only a couple of hours old, most people in the United States are asleep right now. There's 3 days left.

Sean Novack

I called you an asshat because I didn't want to cuss on a comment section and asking what are people thinking is badgering same as calling me a hall monitor. You just didn't like me calling you out so all you've done now is insult me. If a poll isn't going you're way it's better as a person to ask nicely or keep asking for it. This is only one of several western polls coming up.

David Freese

Doesn't matter. Neither will win at this rate.

Bill W

I wasted a vote on it. 😀

Bill W

Asshat? What is an asshat? And by the way, and if I am not mistaken, I made one single original comment on this thread, and one single original comment on the thread that contains the other western poll. So David, my question is this; do you really understand the definition of "badger"?

Gary David Holbrook

No but being condescending to me now just proves my point! I'm might of agreed with you about the movies if you weren't being such an asshat!!

David Freese

Quigley Down Under is the film Cassie would probably enjoy the most, but The Outlaw Josey Wales is my 2nd-favorite Western! How to vote???

Sean Novack

Can't wait for that one... loved Silverado one of my favorite all time westerns!

Andrew Rose

Serious question, David; were you a hall monitor in elementary school?

Gary David Holbrook

Plus it has some romance in it for the love story qualification 😀

Johnny Salinas

No I'm actually 50 but your comment seems so condescending and I've seen more and more of these types of comments here since the beginning of the year. I believe you get more from honey than vinegar.

David Freese

Yes! Especially given Cassie’s fondness of Kevin Costner.

Paul Ark

Quigley Down Under is a bit of an unconventional choice, but a truly underrated film. This one will give you the romance you like to see in movies, and an incredible performance by Alan Rickman

Paul Ark

Yeah, Richard, totally understood. But I gotta do what I gotta do.

Gary David Holbrook

That’s okay… I’m rooting for Butch Cassidy… the only other Paul Newman/Robert Redford movie besides “The Sting” with the both of them… You can see the young Kevin Costner in “Silverado” in the future!

Jeff Mar

I was going to vote for Outlaw Josey Wales but clearly it has no chance in this poll. I went with 3:10 to Yuma instead, with BCatSK being a close third.

Richard Maurer

You’d probably love Young Guns and Young Guns 2!

Patrick Gibbs

Agree with you both.

Just Plain Bob

oh crap! i meant to put that one on, had it written down! next time!

Cassie

it’s on. the other poll, i voted for it ;)

Cassie

There are good movies, and then there are all-time classics. Outlaw Jossey Wales/Pale Rider are absolutely the latter.

Gary David Holbrook

I wish “Silverado” was a choice…

Jeff Mar

My gosh David, lighten up! My comment wasn't made in any sort of anger, quite the "opposite". Please, please tell me that you are not part of the "easily offended" generation or mindset.

Gary David Holbrook

I’m not a huge western fan either but I do enjoy Butch Cassidy.

Tim Raths

The movie OPEN RANGE with Kevin Costner Annette Bebing and Robert Duval is a great action movie that has action and a touching Love story that has a realistic feel for the time period. Highly Recommend you see it too.

Clifton Owens

Outlaw Josey Wales may be my favorite Clint Eastwood non-spaghetti western. And that’s saying something because I love them all. The book was also fantastic.

Just Plain Bob

Butch & Sundance is a favorite movie beloved by many. You should love it.

Clifton Owens

I cannot fathom how 3:10 to Yuma is so far ahead of Josey Wales. It's not a bad movie, but it doesn't hold a candle to Josey Wales.

glenn harper

I don't know why people have to badger people cause they don't agree with others. Do you think saying what you said is going to make people agree with you? It'll do the exact opposite.

David Freese

I am thrilled at the prospect of finally getting Butch and Sundance. An all time favorite of mine.

Neill Shaughness

Completely agree

David Freese

I would love for them to see Quigley.

Armchair Rizzard

As of right now, Clint Eastwood/Outlaw Josey Wales/Pale Rider is only tracking at 12%/10% respectively. What in the heck is wrong with you people?

Gary David Holbrook

Butch and Sundance is very good but for my money Eastwood in The Outlaw Josey Wales is the best one

Hankster

Saw it. Thank you!!!

Bill Maurer

The classic westerns like Liberty Valance were so much more well written than the newer ones.

Robert Moore

its on the Poll B i Just posted!!

Cassie

We'll agree to disagree. I still hold out hope for the original, someday.

Ben Livingstone

All are good choices. My personal favorite of those listed is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. If Cassie thought Robert Redford was cute before, wait til she sees him in this.

Just Plain Bob

Butch Cassidy is an easy choice.

Tim Raths

Wayne, Stewart and Ford !!

Bill Maurer

Some chance, it's in Poll B 😀

Planner

They would love it

JC762

Cassie would LOVE Butch Cassidy. 3:10 to Yuma is a great movie but wouldn't be as good a reaction.

Alex Bond

Outlaw Jose wales is a masterpiece not just a great western but a great movie

zynjams

Need to add Young Guns and the remake of the Magnificent Seven on the next poll.

Joe Mallard

It's the superior version sorry

Philip G.

I’m not a big Western fan but Butch Cassidy is a great movie. One of my faves

Julie

Tough choice between Butch Cassidy and 3:10 to Yuma... Both great

Jeff Rogers

Oh, no! Not the 3:10 TO YUMA remake first!

Ben Livingstone

3:10 better win

Philip G.

"The Searchers" ??????

Bill Maurer

Wow I never thought I'd see Quigley Down Under on a poll. It won't win but it would be hilarious to see that reaction.

Cactus Tony

No chance of watching The Quick And The Dead?

David Bunnetto
