The first episode is setup and won't seem terribly different than most post-apocalypse settings, but it goes surprising places after that, and I always recommend it to folks looking for a different take on the genre.

It's why I limit my viewing of it, even if there are people worth rooting for. I'll get my fix of Joel/Pedro through your reactions....though I guess I technically saw the last episode.
