Welcome to Lucky Lucky March! Although its still dumping snow here so maybe not so lucky. I am used to long winters, never related to seasonal blues before but for some reason this year, the snow and cold is really getting me down. My soul is craving sunshine right now. Might need to get in the car for spring break and drive anywhere, everywhere, drive until we feel warmth haha
Ok first things first THANK YOU SO MUCH for watching, helping, sharing, clicking and commenting about The Poppies! They were so much fun, I loved hanging with you guys. Please leave comments and feedback on this post about how we can improve! I am relieved they are over though haha, they were A TON of work!
Ok this week on Patreon, we will have the last 3 episodes of Boba Fett TONIGHT! Sorry those are delayed, like I said its been a cray couple of weeks! Also the 3 you see above, can't wait! March kind of accidentally turned into ACTION MONTH and we're rolling with it I guess.
Did you see the poll went up on YT for YT members of the Top 4 you guys voted on last week? Right now Tombstone has a solid lead and the other 3 are all TIED!
Ok about Mando season 3. There are going to be 8 episodes, my plan is to watch and post the first 6 like normal and then have some live watch-alongs for the last two? That could change but I think that would be awesome!
Ok this week will be the Roger Moore Poll so look for that!
Ok since its lucky march, tell me something you feel lucky about, we all have something. Today I'm feeling lucky for good neighbors who are friends and always willing to help!
Ok Lets do this MONDAY!
Cassie

2023-03-09 06:53:17 +0000 UTCTechnically it's a comedy Action, but sometimes Cassie tends to take them too seriously 😕

2023-03-09 06:52:23 +0000 UTCIt will be the Taco Bell Version I reckon. The Pizza Hut Version was the dubbed one.

2023-03-09 06:50:22 +0000 UTCI have a vivid memory of Demolition Man. My friends and I went to see it in the theater. It was a debate between DM and A Nightmare Before Christmas. We chose DM. About 20 minutes or so into it we changed our minds and left. Then snuck into Nightmare. Nothing against Demolition Man, but I think we made the right choice.
Mike Gallagher
2023-03-09 03:40:24 +0000 UTCI'm curious what version of Demolition Man will it be. I don't think it matters though.

2023-03-09 00:27:12 +0000 UTCI agree with Matt. MOONRAKER (1979) is so much fun. Stick Figure Studios and myself have exchanged our views about this not too long ago and I think we both concur that the two titles mentioned by James1035 will most likely be the winners. With that said, one of my votes is going to OCTOPUSSY (1983). The jury is still out on my vote for the second.
Ramzi M. A. Ramzi
2023-03-09 00:05:50 +0000 UTCAgree 100%. Also, apropos of nothing, to me Wesley Snipes will always be Blade.
Just Plain Bob
2023-03-08 22:21:29 +0000 UTCThe best thing about that movie is Wesley Snipes' over the top performance - amongst many other over the top performances.
Richard Maurer
2023-03-08 22:19:54 +0000 UTCVery much looking forward to the Demolition Man reaction in particular. Heaping helpings of cheese in that one. I think it’s ridiculous good fun but I can also see reactions running the gamut from love to loathing. It’s that kind of film.
Just Plain Bob
2023-03-08 21:42:50 +0000 UTCThe sketch with the parental units was probably my favourite part of the Poppies.
Happy Hanukkah
2023-03-08 08:08:40 +0000 UTCHey Bill, yeah I watched it back in the day when it first came out. Great movie with a star-studded cast. It’s been a while so I’ll rewatch it soon. I personally very much like his 1981 outing “Nighthawks” with Billy Dee Williams and the late, great Rutger Hauer. It truly captures that late 70’s early 80’s crime thriller vibes of the era. Sly was awesome in it as an NYPD detective. I highly recommend it 👍🏼

2023-03-08 07:53:09 +0000 UTCAs I said in a earlier comment they definitely intended to be funny, but they ended up just being campy. And the stuff that's supposed to be funny is cringiest camp of all.
Richard Maurer
2023-03-08 06:42:08 +0000 UTCIt's definitely intentionally humorous and satirical. Not quite on ROBOCOP level, but far more witty and intelligent than it is typically given credit for.

2023-03-08 06:23:48 +0000 UTCLet's not forget that Cassie's response to the Wyatt Earp crack in THE FUGITIVE was to ask, "Who's Wyatt Earp?"

2023-03-08 06:21:18 +0000 UTCWell, TSWLM and FYEO definitely are, but I'd rather watch MR than LALD.

2023-03-08 06:19:53 +0000 UTCI think James1035 is right. Those are certainly the two I'm voting for.

2023-03-08 04:03:44 +0000 UTCI wonder if Cassie will spot Jack Black.

2023-03-08 04:00:08 +0000 UTCRamzi If you haven't seen it, check out Cop Land (1997). Along with Rocky 1 and First Blood, it's one of Sly's 3 greatest performances.

2023-03-07 23:21:26 +0000 UTCTwo Quick Thoughts: Is The Commitments (1991) still on Cassie's radar, since it was the Runner-Up in last year's "A Wee St. Paddy's Poll"? Because that would be Fun. And… True Lies, the Paramount/CBS series, has just started and before Cassie inadvertently sees the Trailer for said series, revealing Plot Points of the film, is there anyone with Cassie's Ear, who can drop some Hints and give a few Wink Winks. Now would be a Good Time. Cassie even said March accidentally turned into an ACTION MONTH. Sounds like a good idea, Right?
Larry Darrell
2023-03-07 23:20:09 +0000 UTCThose two are the most universally praised of his run and are the safest bets. That said, I think she'd have a blast with MOONRAKER.

Larry Darrell
2023-03-07 22:23:59 +0000 UTCThe name of the movie is “Demolition Man.” I think some of the Camp was intended. No way they did certain things in the film expecting people not to laugh. Pretty sure the Creators meant to make a Fun Funny Action film, and that’s what they got. I mean Rob Schneider, Denis Leary and Glenn Shadix, Come on. Especially Glenn Shadix.
Larry Darrell
2023-03-07 22:04:42 +0000 UTCAs a character, Rambo is so drastically different from Rocky, which goes to show the amazing range Stallone has as an actor. And yes, these R-rated movies had a cartoon (and action figures) for kids, just like Robocop (1987). Ah, I miss the 80's.

2023-03-07 15:49:58 +0000 UTCIt's a pretty (unintentionally) campy movie, so I think it depends on how you go into. If you're looking for a laugh it can be fun, but if you're looking for a more serious action movie you're probably not going to enjoy it.
Richard Maurer
2023-03-07 14:55:40 +0000 UTCI was glad to see some of the most popular reactors (Natalie Gold, Ashleigh Burton etc.) doing the show. It's not like they need the attention to build their channels or anything. I'm not saying that was the primary reason the lesser known reactors did the show but that had to be a consideration for them.
Richard Maurer
2023-03-07 14:50:08 +0000 UTCThey were trying to be funny, but it's definitely more campy than funny, unfortunately.

2023-03-07 03:58:57 +0000 UTCcurious about what the reaction to Demolition Man will be...
JL_83
2023-03-07 03:51:53 +0000 UTCIs that not "common knowledge"? It was 30 years ago. Geez it was even in an original Star Trek TV episode. OK, maybe many in Gen Y and Z haven't heard of it.
Richard Bourne
2023-03-07 02:20:55 +0000 UTCThe Poppies were fun to watch for sure! I really liked all the special guest presenters you had. It's good to see the community of Reactors being friends and not rivals. I hope when you get around to watching Witness ( great movie ) with your crush Harrison Ford you'll consider watching Kingpin with Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. There is a similar theme and it's a very funny movie. A bit risqué like Airplane but very entertaining!
Salieri
2023-03-07 02:06:02 +0000 UTCI Was against doing the Live Reaction for movies that she had not seen because of the reasons you said. But, after watching first, It’s a Wonderful Life, and recently, Return to Me, I found there was no lack of focus and found them very enjoyable. Cassie does not look at the chat during the movie, making it just another normal terrific reaction. All that’s different is there is a longer intro and outro.
Larry Darrell
2023-03-07 01:37:33 +0000 UTCSylvester Stallone: First Blood (1982) and Nighthawks (1981). Rambo: First Blood Pt. 2 (1985) is a guilty pleasure of mine and a solid action movie (IMHO) that cemented Rambo as a pop cultural icon of the 80's.

2023-03-07 00:44:22 +0000 UTCWell due to the popularity of Connery it’s understandable why they would try an emulate him. Still it’s better when you try to do your own thing.

2023-03-07 00:35:07 +0000 UTCO and great job w/ the Poppies! I can only imagine the work it takes to set all of that up and then execute it! Just amazing!

2023-03-07 00:24:42 +0000 UTCHey if it's dumping snow there it's the perfect time to watch the movie I sent you! Kekek J/K Again though the problem with these polls are lots of people haven't seen all the movies. So if a person has seen only three movies they're gonna pick the best out of the three that they've seen. Honestly all these movies are really good and I've seen them all. I would have to say into Interstellar again but tombstone is a great movie too. Tin Cup you would absolutely adore. You and Carly would love Tin Cup! Can't wait to see your reaction to Tombstone though! Alright best of luck kid! Keep up the great reviews!

2023-03-07 00:08:18 +0000 UTCThe Poppies were great. Your parents were so funny. And Sean Connery really is a great actor but Roger Moore is my Favorite Bond. And if its Moonraker you'll get to see Jaws' love story.

2023-03-07 00:06:47 +0000 UTCI feel lucky that I have the best dog in the world. I'm with you, the winter blues have got to me this year and I don't know where I'd be without my Maggie Mae aka. droolie andrews. Also, thank you to everyone who helped bring us the 2023 Poppies! I wasn't able to watch it live because my cousins kids came for a sleepover, but after the rugrats went to sleep I put my feet up and had a blast. As for feedback on how you can improve...I'm not sure that's possible lol, you guys go above and beyond and I can't imagine all the work that goes into it, but I thank you for all of it. I just hope the Poppies don't ban Cassie after she slapped Carly lol. In fairness, Carly you should have kept Harrison Ford's name out yo' mouth lol. Much love.
Erik Daniel
2023-03-07 00:03:07 +0000 UTCWhen watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, it helps to think of each actor playing James Bond as a Different Side of the Same Person. Time and Life Experiences change us all over the years, and James Bond is not immune to this Growth. In You Only Live Twice, the film that precedes this one, Bond (as well as Connery) seemed to be getting somewhat tired of the Path that he was on. He didn’t Care as much anymore and began to behave with an attitude of indifference. There was a lack of Emotion. A level of Tenderness that he attained in Thunderball, appeared to have rescinded. He was just Going Through the Motions. James Bond Needed a Change. He was looking for a Change, and George Lazenby’s James Bond is the Side that he found. I hope you enjoy.
Larry Darrell
2023-03-06 23:47:01 +0000 UTCOh, I knew it was going to be more than just another TWD imitator, but I'm always reluctant to start yet another show (especially when it's brand new and still airing), but I might take a chance on this one.

2023-03-06 22:45:24 +0000 UTCI'll agree that DAF is one of the worst Bond films but OHMSS is one of the best (if not THE best).
Matt Rose
2023-03-06 22:44:46 +0000 UTCThere is a really great one-on-one BBC Scene By Scene interview with Sean Connery that was done in 1996 by Mark Cousins, who uploaded it to YouTube the day after Connery's death in 2020. As well as James Bond, Connery also talked about working with Hitchcock on Marnie (1964) and working on The Untouchables (1987) as well lesser known films he did that he was very proud of. Just type "SCENE BY SCENE CONNERY" into YouTube, it's a really great watch.
JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS
2023-03-06 22:42:45 +0000 UTCSo looking forward to OHMSS. Yay! My favorite Bond film followed by Casino Royale and Skyfall.
Robert Jewell
2023-03-06 22:24:52 +0000 UTCYeah, I remember that from a documentary. Interesting fact, Dr. No cost one million to make, total. The main gigantic set on You Only Live Twice cost one million dollars alone. After OHMSS they brought back SC for Diamonds are Forever, which was not one of my favorites. I consider that two lousy Bonds in a row.
Richard Bourne
2023-03-06 22:23:59 +0000 UTCI didn't really have much interest in TLOU. I'm no gamer at all and based on the few things I've heard it sounded like a Walking Dead knock-off. But given Cassie's praise, my zero interest in Wakanda, and having a lot of time at my disposal due to staying home sick I gave it a try and based on the first three episodes it is indeed quite good so far.

2023-03-06 21:46:13 +0000 UTCI'm sure MOONRAKER will be on there, but I am doubtful that it will win. :-(
Stick Figure Studios
2023-03-06 21:45:10 +0000 UTCI think part of Lazenby's problem was that the producers tried to make him a Connery clone rather than give him the freedom to be his own Bond. You can see shades of a similar approach in the first two Moore films before they allowed Roger to go his own way... and the rest is history.
Stick Figure Studios
2023-03-06 21:40:49 +0000 UTCUm, okay, but, you're basing your opinion on something you've never even been a part of? Cassie does not get 'distracted' during the watch along, because she turn off her view of chat during the viewing, and only chats with us before and after the show. Either way, your opinion is noted, and the rest of us will have a jolly good time without you...
Jon Johns

2023-03-06 21:37:38 +0000 UTCTombstone is a fantastic Western. Everyone has heard of the gunfight at the OK Corral. IMHO, this movie does it the best. This might be Val Kilmar's best acting as Doc Holiday. Execellent. Great star studded cast, all in their prime.

2023-03-06 21:35:18 +0000 UTCI thought the POPies only improved over the first year. There were lots of fun categories, the montages were incredibly entertaining, and I loved all the guest presenters. Having a live poll during the live show was a stroke of genius. I can't think of a single thing that could have been better. I also appreciate all the work of the people who contributed their time behind the scenes to make it such a flawless endeavor. Congratulations to all involved!

2023-03-06 21:33:54 +0000 UTC"On Her Majesty's Secret Service" ... all these years I never realized the word "On" was there, and I've never heard someone actually say it. This change in Bond was because SC was demanding more money after the success of Goldfinger and the HUGE success of Thunderball.

Foggy
2023-03-06 21:28:38 +0000 UTCI've certainly heard good things about TLOU. As for Bond, the first time you see someone else playing him, it can certainly be an adjustment, but after a while, it becomes a lot easier to see that character wearing different faces. By the time they finish with Moore, I bet they'll actually get curious about the different interpretations and start looking forward to each new actor's tenure with anticipation.
Stick Figure Studios
2023-03-06 21:27:13 +0000 UTCOn Her Majesty's Secret Service is actually a very good Bond entry. Lazenby is no Connery, but its hard to live up to the best. He's ok, but when you pick someone you saw in a car commercials to lead your franchise it kind of shows. Demolition Man is a lot of fun. Two 90's action stars in an over the top action movie is always a good time.
James1035
2023-03-06 21:26:42 +0000 UTCSorry, Eric, but I have to disagree. I don't usually join live watch alongs during the day because of work. However, if there is a sizable audience who *do* enjoy them, then I don't think Cassie should feel bad about doing them just because *I* don't particularly enjoy them.
Phil Stubblefield
2023-03-06 21:25:46 +0000 UTCThe Roger Moore films are super campy and cheesy… I think their the ones I’m most excited for lol. Also, feeling very lucky I found the channel months ago, it serves as a therapeutic wind down to my day. And a very nice community too :)

2023-03-06 21:25:16 +0000 UTCFAMOUS ACTOR’S FIRST LEADING ROLE 1. KEVIN COSTNER – His first starring role was in the film No Way Out, although the studio held it up and so The Untouchables was the first-time movie fans saw him as the lead actor. 2. HARRISON FORD - This L.A. carpenter and part-time actor got his big break and met lifelong friend George Lucas when he agreed to play in the iconic film American Graffiti. It is a fun film because all the first-time actors and actresses got their break doing the picture. Also, it set up his roles in Star Wars with Lucas and his Indiana Jones series directed by Steven Spielberg. 3. TOM CRUISE – A 19-year-old Cruise got the lead in a coming-of-age film called Risky Business. It could be called a rom-com too. 4. KEANUE REEVES - Permanent Record this drama is not his best film but every star has to have a first leading role and this one was for Reeves. 5. ROBERT REDFORD – He became a true star in the 1960’s rom-com Barefoot in the Park starring opposite Jane Fonda. Redford also starred in the Broadway play the film was based on and received a Tony nomination for best actor in a comedy.

2023-03-06 21:25:13 +0000 UTCI would respectively like to submit for you and all the class the following idea for a poll, It is based on a group of actors you seem to feature often and seem to like their work so here goes.

2023-03-06 21:23:55 +0000 UTCI too was curious about THE LAST OF US, so I gave it a try and it is pretty good. I think you might like it if you give it a try. It's even better with a Cassie reaction! And I join you in your curiosity about the Lazenby Bond, what will Cassie think about the change of actors? Even though he was with us for only one movie, it was a very good one. Thank goodness we have Moore Bond coming soon!

2023-03-06 21:11:54 +0000 UTCI feel lucky to have so many generous, creative, helpful people giving their time and talent to all of us, via your channel. POPpies turned into a real lovefest! And it was all directed at us, the fans of movies, and of reaction videos, and all those who created them. The creativity and effort put into all those montages, and clip segments really is impressive, too. Oh, yeah, you and Carly did a lot of work too. 😘😉

2023-03-06 21:10:43 +0000 UTCHaven't watched any LAST OF US yet, but I am curious about it, so I might just give it a try. DEMOLITION MAN will be a lot of fun. I didn't like it when I first saw it, but I've come to appreciate it more over the years. But the reaction I'm most excited about this week is, as always, the Bond film and ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE is a very significant one for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it is the first to feature a different actor playing Bond. Australian George Lazenby took over when Connery no longer wanted to do it and it is interesting that you say you feel like you're cheating on Sean because I think a lot of audiences felt that way at the time as it was not nearly as successful as previous Bond films (or even, frankly, as successful as it deserved to be since it is actually a good film... some even consider it the best Bond film). While Lazenby is not bad, he is the weakest of all the Bonds for me (he was not really an actor, he was a model) and might have really grown into the role had he done more, but he took some bad advice at the time and quit after only one entry. I am very curious to see your reaction to it. I also can't wait for the Roger Moore poll. He was my first Bond and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for him. Definitely know which two I'm voting for. Looking forward to you finishing BOBA FETT and starting MANDO season 3. :-)

2023-03-06 21:10:16 +0000 UTCWe appreciate you Cassie! Really can't wait for this weeks lineup. Even my Bond reluctance has disappeared. I still hope you watch River Kwai and 5th Element even though they are being creamed the poll. 😱😭But I'll survive. 😂

2023-03-06 20:58:52 +0000 UTCI really hope tombstone wins this time. And in the movie demolition Man, the building that blows up in the background was in my city. They used an actual demo building for the shop.
