Its Poppies Week! "Every night i lie in bed, the brightest colors fill my head, a million dreams are keeping me awaaaaaakkkkkeeeee" I have crossed off renting an auditorium and custom made popcorn trophies off the poppies idea list, but still have some good ones I think! I also want to say thank you to the poppy committee who have helped so much with the prep work (you know who you are and you rock!)
Here is what is coming up this week! I just really want to watch this show (The Last of Us) , so might as well watch it with you! Haven't decided if they will be on YT though yet. Watching "Just Mercy" with Michael B made me want to watch Black Panther, Kilmonger was such a good bad guy/good guy!
I'll also be hopefully finishing Boba Fett this week, Mando season 3 countdown in oooonnnn! Someone here had an idea to do a LIVE watch along for the Mando episodes as they come out? Maybe a patreon tier or something? Thinking on that one, let me know your thoughts. Could be fun!?
Also coming up on the schedj is the Queen Bond and then another Bond Poll, A runners up poll that will also include YT members, Demolition Man and going to try and watch John Wicks before the 4th one comes out? *try

Although I did watch the trailer and Subjectively speaking it didn’t objectively move my interest meter.

If I do, it will be for her reaction to specific moments. For me, it's like Avatar The Last Airbender.... I love that show to death, but I've now seen it 6 times, between my own viewings and watching people react to it. For me to watch it again, I would really have to muster the energy. It's the same with TLOU. I adore the first game, and I mostly enjoy what they have been doing with the show. But for me personally, I don't know if I'll be able to do another reaction viewing. I can see others absolutely enjoying it, however.

Subjectively there can be different experiences, different motivations, and more, that may make up matters of personal taste... all kinds of factors that can influence a 'like' or a 'dislike...' It is OKAY to not 'like' TLOU - subjectively. BUT OBJECTIVELY... 'The Last Of Us' is nearly outside the REALM of SUBJECTIVITY. This series masterfully, almost miraculously peels back layers to authentically reveal life, love and the foundational nature of humanity itself like few television experiences have. Again, James TLOU may not be for you... but I truly believe the enrichment this series can bring, should 'be...'' for nearly everyone.

If you don't want to watch her react to TLOU, don't watch. I'll be watching for sure and so will many new viewers. It's an amazing show and I can't wait to see what she makes of it.

After dozens, likely, a couple of hundred watched throughout the 7 episodes (this far), it has become really quite evident, that the reactors that HAVEN'T PLAYED and HAVE NO VISIBILITY as to WHAT'S COMING NEXT are thoroughly MUCH MORE SATISFIED by the pure perfection of this near MIRACULOUS SERIES. In my experience of observing those reating to TLOU, it is better 'NOT' TO HAVE PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

I don't see that happening the other way around, where books, movies, comics, etc are turned into games, and the fans come into the games acting like they are above all the gamers. I get it that this is arguably the first game adaptation that's actually good, but they made it for more than just the gamers.

I'm not sure I can tune in for another person. 😂 Don't get me wrong, I love the first game and I love the story and I'm sure she will enjoy it, but I don't know if I can watch another person react to it. 😂 I might have to skip those. Or maybe just tune in for key moments.

Also I think that format works better for once in a while with a movie you already seen and just have fun with the chat and stuff. Don't think it has too much added value for watching shows or movies in general, cause you would have to ignore chat anyway. Maybe just on the last one or something.

Same with people that read the Game of Thrones books way before the show started. Even though I feel like they weren't too bad with spoiling.

2023-02-28 10:00:12 +0000 UTCEven though I'm sure there is a video game of it, The Walking Dead is based on a comic, not a video game. The show had it's ups and downs, but it isn't meant to be a lame 2 dimensional zombie show. In fact, so far The Last of Us reminds me of that show. As in the end goal is not that important, it's more based on the journey and character development than plot driven. More of an exploration of humanity in an extreme situation. I haven't played the Last of Us game, so I don't know what happens next, but so far they are quite similar in their approach. Now you can have your own opinion and taste of course, but it seems if you like The Last of Us you would like The Walking Dead more than you did. Maybe you should have given it at least a season (first season is 6 eps or something) before giving up.

AS A SUPER FAN, I was right there with everybody else When I talked about making it a series, worried that they were going to mess it up. Well I've been watching it from the beginning and I have to say they are doing a stupendous fantastic awesome slurp-a-licious job at presenting and representing the source material. I definitely, and happily, will watch/rewatch it again with you. 👍🏻🙂

I even had to stop watching some reactors who are dropping spoilers - you'd think they'd know better. I hope we don't have that problem here.

I think a prime choice for a Live watch-a-long would be some classic TV show episodes from movies you have/should see. Get a couple classic episodes of Mission Impossible, A-Team, Star Trek, Hogan's Heros, and so on. It would be off the norm and focus is not required so you can interact with chat and no one feels like they missing out on a movie thing.

BUT, I'll tell you WHY 'The Last Of Us...' It's one of the greatest love for humanity, will to live, not just survive, and essence of what it means to be human, stories to come down the pike in a very, very long time. TLOU is astonishingly inspired. That's 'why.'
