This week on PiB....

OOOHHH Boy,

Sorry this is late. The long weekend threw me off and then a MAJ snowstorm hit Utah today and they cancelled everything in the whole state. Good news is Carly got to have a sleepover last night after watching Bond because the roads were too bad and we had a blast dancing it out! (go check instagram)! Thank you to the commenter that said "Carly is the better dancer" We all know this, I know this, just really love when people say it out loud bahaha ;)

I am pumped to watch these patreon movies with you this week! So so entertaining and popcorn popping movies. The Rock might be a day late (Monday) because I really want Carly to watch it with me and she may not be able to get back here until Saturday or Sunday.

Other big news, I hope you saw the earlier post with the voting form for the Poppie Awards 2023. If not, GO VOTE HERE! Remember remember the 4th of March-ember.

Upcoming soon ish. We're going to watch the in-between Bond one off one and then the next Bond Poll! Going to probably watch Eternals on our own then do a reaction to Wakanda Forever! I think I'll watch Demolition Man because it lost by less than a percent to The Rock on the YT Poll. What other polls do you guys want to see coming up?

Ok hope you are having a good week so far, stay safe and warm out there!

That one movie really ruined my "love you long time" sign off so.....

Much Love

Cassie

Dr. No, , on her majesties secret service, Casino Royal top 3

leo tierney

FYI, she has never done a swedish movie, or german, or danish, or finnish, or norwegian.........etc etc. She did a french once, 14 months ago 😏😏 I'm just saying 😏😏

Björn Karlsson

I just watched you and Carly react to Goldfinger. The 60’s Bond movies were more like the comic books of the day, For a more serious spy films of the same time, watch The Spy Who Came in from the Cold or the Ipcress File.

John Lasse

I liked The English Patient, but I always felt like I'd rather just watch 1985's Out of Africa (starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford) instead.

Staci McDaniel

I can't watch that movie without thinking of Elaine's reaction "just die already! Die!" lol

LuMarq

I was logging in to recommend Air Force One!

Jamie Tyson

looking for a romantic movie, watch the English Patient from the mid-90’s, if you haven’t already. There’s a romantic triangle and another romance.

John Lasse

Cassie and Carly, next time you’re

John Lasse

I read the actual Mystery Men comics that the movie is based on. The comics are so much funnier than the movie that it actually hurts me to watch it.

Richard Maurer

Other superhero movie poll? Blankman, Meteor Man, Mystery Men, Heroic Trio, etc.

Mike Lemon

How about a Classic Disney, not animated poll? Old Yeller, Treasure Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Swiss Family Robinson, The Love Bug, etc.

Mike Lemon

DJaMH is one of the few horror movies of that era not produced by Universal but is definitely worth including on any classic horror poll, Hyde being one of the classic "monsters" that came out of those films. For my part I will once again and always nominate Horror of Dracula (1958 Hammer films) my favorite Dracula movie of all time.

Richard Maurer

I grew up in the 90s, so Lightning Jack, The Cherokee Kid and Maverick were some of the first Westerns I ever saw, and did enjoy them. They certainly sparked my interest. Then My Dad and Time introduced me to John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Sergio Leone, Gunsmoke, James Garner, Shane, Butch & Sundance, Howard Hawks, John Ford, John Sturges, & Sam Peckinpah. There are many starting paths into the Western Genre. Cassie will just have to find the right one for her. (With a little help, I'm sure.) P.S.: Unforgiven wasn't it, in my opinion. That's a classic you watch further down the road.

Larry Darrell

I second the motion, though I believe classic horror can be abundantly scary to those who have not been desensitised by repeated viewings of fright for fright's sake. May I nominate "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" (1931) starring Fredric March.

Ted Little

If you look on the request app it confirms that she hasn't seen those titles you've listed. It also says she apparently hasn't seen "Alice in Wonderland" (1951), "Lady and the Tramp" (1955), "The Sword in the Stone" (1963), "The Jungle Book" (1967), "The Fox and the Hound" (1981), "The Great Mouse Detective" (1986), "Oliver & Company" (1988), "The Rescuers Down Under" (1990), "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1996), "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" (2001), "Treasure Planet" (2002) or "Brother Bear" (2003) either.

Jake McNulty

@nick- I'm partially kidding, but I think she would probably like something fun like Lightning Jack or Cherokee Kid (1996) to whatever would take second place in the poll (we all know Tombstone, which she will also like, will take first).

Mike Lemon

Lol.

nick bell

The watched list- https://letterboxd.com/pib1/films/

Mike Lemon

You didn't have to end the Month of Love early. It's fun when you discover older Romance films. There are Many More. Not complaining. This week is Definitely Awesome. Just so you know, if you wanted to sprinkle a few more extra Romances and Rom-Coms, other than your Popcorn Picks, through out the year, you won't hear any grouching from me.

Larry Darrell

Possibly she has never seen any of these: The Aristocats (1970), The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977), The Rescuers (1977), An American Tail (1986), Jetsons: The Movie (1990), Rock-a-Doodle (1990). And for the older kids, Bebe's Kids (1992).

Larry Darrell

Not before Crocodile Dundee (1986), that just wouldn't be right. Yes on Western Poll too.

Larry Darrell

How about a classic Horror poll - say Universal through Hammer films? Horror movies that (for the most part) aren't really that scary, but are still awesome just the same.

Richard Maurer

My question is,what animated movies Disney or otherwise has Cassie not watched before now? I'd love to watch with my kids like we did for Disney's Robin Hood '73..

Celeste McAllister

It's not on the list, and there is pretty much nothing (excluding Disney) before 1995.

Mike Lemon

Classic sci-fi would be good. There are some real gems, even some of the B movies are fun.

Kristin D

Last Unicorn is great. Secret of Nimh too. But since these are movie that are often shown to kids, I wonder if Cassie has already seen them?

Kristin D

Animation poll (not Disney or Pixar) - then maybe The Last Unicorn (1982) could get a little love.

Mike Lemon

Yes! Then Lighting Jack (1994) can get its reaction.

Mike Lemon

Hero is another I think she would enjoy.

Richard Maurer

Die Hard with a Vengeance is definitely worth your time.

Brian Lowery

Glad to see if she finally watched air force one and rock is on the schedule

Steven Ashford

Think she'd love Ip Man

mikethemotormouth

@Matt Rose not at first but I'm expecting tears several times throughout

mikethemotormouth

Someone tried explaining to me how to use them once. I still don't understand.

mikethemotormouth

For poll suggestions,Robert Redford poll,Disney poll all era's and genre's,a 2nd Western poll,Horse poll,cars are the stars poll,classic sci fi all eras and genre's polls,Hitchcock poll♡

Celeste McAllister

I remember this film from my childhood. It's superfun.

KMJ

Yes Cassie, Boba Fett this week if you can please .Thank you so much!! 🙂

Ed Garland

Enjoyable lineup, including Demolition Man. Debout, les damnés de la terre! I want a Jean-Claude Van Damme poll! :-) (Bloodsport, Hard Target, Timecop, JCVD)

Happy Hanukkah

Cassie has Out of Africa in her collection it's been recommended and suggested many times, get it on a poll..again.

Celeste McAllister

AQOTWF, Quiet Girl, Close, The Fabelmans

AC5555

She’s seen band and the pacific . I want her to react to Turn Washington’s spies

AC5555

More forties fifties films again. And it’s been a while since she’s reacted to a Hitchcock

AC5555

It even caused some controversy and lawsuits because the cast was signing up and paid for one movie, yet two were released. Also, this gave the idea to the Salkind's to produce their next movie, Superman (1978) in a similar fashion.

Gábor Árki

With the passing of Raquel Welch let me suggest "The Three Musketeers" (1973). It is the performance which won her the Golden Globe for Best Actress. An historical, action, adventure, romantic comedy film, it was directed by Richard Lester and stars Oliver Reed, Raquel Welch, Richard Chamberlain, Michael York, Christopher Lee, Faye Dunaway, and Charlton Heston. It is still the best English-language adaptation of Dumas' novel, and a great romp. The film covers the first half of the novel, commonly called "the Affair of the Queen's Diamonds." The second half, "Milady's Revenge," was released the next year as "The Four Musketeers." Lester actually filmed the entire novel at once, intending to release it as a 3 1/2 hour film. But he couldn't get the editing done in time for the studio's deadline, so he split it into two shorter movies. This would be a great one for you and Carly to watch together.

Elliot Nesterman

So did THE ROCK.

Matt Rose

There's more to it than that. His agent was playing extreme hardball in terms of negotiations with EON, asking for an outrageous contract amongst other things. Lazenby got a lot of really, really bad advice at the time.

Matt Rose

Looks like a super great lineup. I agree with the members that Air Force 1 is a great choice AND the American President would be another. As for the Eternals? HORRIBLE movie, but I'm not sure it wouldn't make for a good reaction. Then again...pass on it. Two hours of your life you won't get back.

Rhett Merchant

Best action film ever? I don’t know if it’s even the best Michael Bay film… Armageddon did make the Criterion Collection after all ahhahaha.

djKENTO

Going to enjoy these. This will date my likes for movies, can you do pre 70s comedies as a poll? Like the Road to movies.

Joshua Stormont

Thanks Cassie. I'm requesting Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind. I think you would like it. Another Spielberg classic. Thanks for all that you do.

Gideon James

That and the first scene when he's up in Naomi's apartment for the first time lol

William Bryan

Definitely. Wonderfully smart picture.

David Martin

I've been recommending it as far back as IN THE LINE OF FIRE

Stick Figure Studios

Really stoked about The Rock, in particular. Best action movie ever made, I think. Hope you like it.

Rob Hanna

It's actually "free" on HBOMax this Friday.

sarCC

Two of Hitchcock's best films star Cary Grant: North By Northwest and Notorious. To Catch A Thief is good, too, but mostly because of Grace Kelly.

sarCC

Air Force One AND Goldfinger? What a great week!

sarCC

So, first PiB action movie week? 😃 The next Popcornrequests polls could be spiced up a bit: - Step 1: roll a dice, 1 - pre 70s, 2 - 70s, 3 - 80s, 4 - 90s, 5 - 2000s, 6 - 2010s - Step 2: in Filters, add a Custom filter for the selected decade, for example for the 70s !(m.year>=1970 && m.year<1980) - Step 3: draw X movies from this filtered top 25-50 If Cassie is interested in such decade-draw/poll, I think Planner would be able to make step 2 more user friendly. Also, I would really like a European movie poll. I don't think we had a reaction to one since Amelie. Knowing how much Cassie likes to celebrate, May 9 (Europe Day) could be a day to organize this around.

Gábor Árki

Adding a request for Out of Africa (1985) for a romance movie for both of you to watch. It stars Meryl Streep and Robert Redford and won 7 Oscars - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound, Best Original Score, Best Actress (Streep), and Best Supporting Actor (Brandauer) Be sure to grab the tissues. It's an epic love story movie.

Jesus F Christ

It says in the text with the post that she’s planning on watching it so you’re in luck.

Tim Raths

FRWL; good riddance. Bring on Goldfinger!

Gary David Holbrook

Air Force one..long long overdue! :)

Celeste McAllister

Air Force One Ya Hoo!!!!

Mary Alice

Another President's Day recommendation is "The American President" (1995), starring Michael Douglas and directed by Rob Reiner (A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, and Misery). It's one of my favorites in the romance/comedy genre. Hope you check it out.

Ramzi M. A. Ramzi

Air Force One and Goldfinger in one week.....YES!!!!!!

James Keller

She did watch FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE first.

Stick Figure Studios

I know. Boy, talk about bad foresight.

Stick Figure Studios

Martial arts poll. Cassie needs to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Superhero style martial arts, Two love stories, she'd love it.

Richard Maurer

I’m sure this will be mentioned on the release for OHMSS, but can you believe his agent told him to turn down a 7 picture deal because he thought the franchise wouldn’t be anything?

James1035

Looks like it's action movie week here at Popcorn in Bed... and as a big action movie fan, this pleases me. I've been hoping you'd watch AIR FORCE ONE for quite some time... Really ever since you reacted to IN THE LINE OF FIRE, which was made by the same director (German filmmaker Wolfgang Peterson who just passed away recently) but also after you saw CLEAR IN PRISON DANGER (since this is more or less Harrison Ford's third Jack Ryan movie).I'm confident that you loved this one. It's one of the better DIE HARD imitators. Taut, exciting and with a great cast giving really committed performances. I admit that I'm not a big Michael Bay fan, but of all the movies of his I've seen, THE ROCK is the one I probably enjoy the most (or rather I dislike the least). I still have issues with it, but it is fun and the three leads (Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris) are terrific. Speaking of Connery, I cannot wait to see your reaction to GOLDFINGER, the third official Bond film and considered by many to be the best one of all. This was the film that elevated Bond into pop culture phenomenon status, this is the one that changed the Bond series from being just an excellent example of the spy genre into a genre all his own. Chock-full of iconic images, lines and moments. As Roger Ebert said, it is the "Time capsule Bond movie... It may not be great heart, but it is great entertainment." As for the "one off one" you're doing next, I am assuming you are referring to the single Bond movie that Australian actor George Lazenby did, ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. Lazenby was the first of many actors to play Bond after Connery didn't want to do it anymore, and while he is hardly anybody's favorite, the movie he did is often regarded as one of the best Bond movies (if not THE best). It is certainly a significant one and I look forward to seeing how you ladies respond to that too. As for suggestions for a poll, the recent discouraging news about Bruce Willis (he has now been officially diagnosed with dementia) has got me wanting to revisit more of his movies. I'd love to see a poll for Bruce Willis films with entries like UNBREAKABLE, TEARS OF THE SUN, DEATH BECOMES HER, THE KID, 12 MONKEYS, THE SIEGE and HOSTAGE. Looking forward to the Poppy awards. Already cast my votes. Keep up the good work. :-)

Stick Figure Studios

Goldfinger and the rock yes!!!!!!

Alexis Callagan

I am still hoping you watch Demolition Man Maybe as a "Polls Runners Up" category. The Rock won by 1 percent. very slim margin.

Tim Phistry

Air Force One is good. I'm not much into the others. Such is the way things go. But the reactions are always good. How about some Comedy, Like "Down Periscope," with Kelsey Grammar, or "The Bounty Hunter," with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Anniston.

Ken Thurman

Hi Kelly, yes it's actually on Amazon Prime, but also yes, you have to either buy it or rent it. Not sure about the theaters where you live, but it is still showing in the theaters here in southeastern NC. If you do decide to check it out, one of the added treats is the first song that plays just as soon as the ending credits start; it's called "Silicon Chip". This song, at least to me, truly kicks ass. But that's just part of it; the song was actually recorded way back in 1979, but for some strange reason, it was not released until 2016. The artist, Basil Kirchin, unfortunately, has since passed away. Check it out, Kelly, and everyone else!

Gary David Holbrook

I was also thinking about suggesting Classic Monster Movies maybe for Halloween. You know the ones I mean like the old black and white Universal films or even the Hammer productions.

Tim Phistry

You got me excited for a second, but it's not on Prime yet, only buy or rent. But Smile is now on Prime though, which is a pretty decent suspense/horror movie.

Kelly Marie

Thank goodness you skipped Dr No and went straight to Goldfinger.

granny_goodness

Wow. Hollywood blockbuster week at PIB!

Ian Cano

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really hope you'd consider an animated film poll one day. Also perhaps you should also consider a biopic poll as well maybe.

Jake McNulty

ONLY THE BRAVE was surprisingly excellent.

Matt Rose

Upcoming polls could be comedy (Id like to see Good Morning Vietnam on that one as I’m sure you two would love it, basically Robin Williams being Robin Williams). Some other good polls could be Western (Outlaw Josey Wales is a great one) Drama (Only the Brave [if you watch bring tissues])

John Cohen

Cassie Pop you know my next recommendation for a poll is Classic Monsters! Trying to find a category to fit Godzilla in. But worst case, maybe the Mummy would win? 🤔 But more importantly, what's the ETA on Book of Boba Fett 5-6-7😮 I have a feeling you'll really love the last 3 episodes.

Todzilla

AIR FORCE ONE??!!!! cassie i love you!!!! :) ❤️❤️

MatthewBrown74m

One of the greatest comedy duos of all time. The Blues Brothers is my favorite comedy so I hope we see it on the channel sometime.

Tim Raths

It's true there has never been a gangster movie poll (just prefer that term to mob movie). We always said The Godfather movies would win such a poll. A western poll is overdue.

Mike LL

Agreed that you should watch THE ROCK with Carly. You'll understand why after you see it.

Matt Rose

Seasons 1 and 2 for sure.

Matt Rose

YES!!!!! the rock and Air Force one. We are in for a treat.

Michael Lynch

If you guys have not seen it yet; M3GAN. Available now on Amazon Prime. If you choose to check it out, don't blame me if you start getting paranoid about your computer, cell phone, flat screen TV, or the high tech electronics in your automobile/SUV. Get your blankets ready. You have been warned.

Gary David Holbrook

It is going to be a great week! Can't wait to see these reactions!

Justin (CaptainProton)

All three Patreon movies are good and ones I think you will enjoy. It’s fitting that you will be watching the The Rock after seeing Sean Connery as Bond. I think you should wait for Carly for the Rock since she seems like a big action fan

James1035

Great selections should be fun. Hopefully the blues brothers gets another chance somewhere down the road. Action comedy music a great message it's got it all

Canadianant

Gotta check out Fargo the series. Patrick Wilson, Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Kirsten Dunst. Made by the Cohen brothers. Amazing writing, acting. Every moment is award winning and crazy. You’d love it.

Jonny Kerr (JK)

Heck yeah. Or war series. Band of Brothers, Jack Ryan, The Terminal List. Lots of great ones. Even for Patreon Only.

Jonny Kerr (JK)

That is a STRONG week! Looking forward to each.

VivendoBem

still planning on it, hoping i can squeeze them in as surprise uploads this week!

Cassie

William Bryan: Are you refering to the ”No touching”-scene? It could be another scene I’m missing though😛

Björn Von Knorring

Mob poll or another western poll. Please.

nick bell

And it's about time you watched, Air Force One. You have been wanting to watch it forever. Rock is a good movie. Good action movie.

Rick Williams

Upcoming polls: comedy, suspense/thriller, or time period drama.

Kelly Marie

Bummer. Thought you would finish out Boba Fett. It finally gets good in Ep5.

Gideon James

Awesome week ahead! Looking forward to all three! Stay warm Cass!

Robert da Spruce

hell yes to MARGIN CALL. One of the best films of the past 20 years.

Matt Rose

Don't let, Full Medal Jacket mess up your sign off. You can love us long time.😋 P. S. You can wait for Carly. She is worth waiting for.

Rick Williams

Oh God seeing her reaction to THE Margot Robbie scene in WOWS would be entertainment lol

William Bryan

I like that you did Top 25 on the last poll, but since you can’t seem to draw low numbers, maybe in a month or two you should do a top 5 poll😉

Cole Jennett

Economy poll - Wall Street (will probably win but not the best choince in my opinion) - Margin call - Too big to fail I know Cassie has seen The big short (great movie though). The wolf of wWall street is also great but might not be Cassies cup of tea though.

Björn Von Knorring

She definitely needs to do a Cary Grant run of films. BRINGING UP BABY, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, THE AWFUL TRUTH, CHARADE, so many others.

Matt Rose

Time for another war movie poll!

Pickupthepieces76

Goldfinger, Air Force One, and The Rock are all great action movies. Cassie, bring out the Goldfinger care for your kids, don't wait until you next mail opening.

Richard Bourne

SO excited for The Rock!!! Definitely wait for Carly for that one. Also, really exited for Demolition Man!!! You both should watch it, and you will love Sandra Bullock in it. I haven't seen any other reactors watch either one of those movies, so I'm looking forward to them. Some great action movies coming up!

Kelly Marie

As to another poll: older best picture winners would be a good one. Ones I think you'd like include HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY, IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, MARTY, MY FAIR LADY, and IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT. Lots of great ones for you to view and discover.

Matt Rose

Yes, he did. A very good point IMHO😈

Björn Von Knorring

Two Sean Connery. Squee. I bet you’d love Entrapment. 98 w Connery and Zeta Jones. Amaaazzzing

GamerGal8684

What poll do I want? What poll? Oh yes . . . A Hitchcock poll A Cary Grant poll Either/both of those would be as good as getting two Sean Connery movies in one week!

Mike LL

I know how much you love thriller movies how about the movie -Becky or -Brightburn ? maybe watch the trailer's 1st 😁

Michael Scott

Maybe an awards contender poll since we are in awards season? And include options that are easily available now on streaming or to rent (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Woman King, Babylon, Pinocchio, The Menu etc).

rhaegar

I still say you need to get to The 😈 Advocate at some point. Did Pacino have a point...?

William Bryan

Cassie, you would love RAIN MAN for sure.

Matt Rose

Air Force One 👍

Tim Raths

I think this is the beginning of an action-packed week. In the middle of the week. 😄

Zane From Canada

In the not too distant future, I also think you should give Rain Man a watch. It came in 3rd, but action movies are always going to win over dramas. It's a wonderful early Tom Cruise movie, plus it'll be a great introduction to Dustin Hoffman for you, as I don't believe you've done a reaction to any of his movies.

Aaron Mann

if you're going to watch DEMOLITION MAN, do yourself a favor and acquire three seashells first. Have them handy.

Matt Rose

I believe you're talking about Full Metal Jacket and the love you long time! I know that definitely was'nt a favorite of yours, can't wait to see you and Carlys upcoming reactions. Stay safe. ✌

Danny (Icarus)

Wakanda had me all emotional!!! Bring crying towel just in case... Western Poll? Back to the Oscar noms of future past poll? Or an Oscars poll of this year's nominees ;-) "Summer lovin' - had me a blast!" Poll? Rom COMS set in the summertime to get you out of this winter funk?

Jon Johns

YAAAAASSSSS! I've been hoping for Air Force One!

Steve Sanders

Glad you liked RRR, Cassie. Your reaction to it was fantastic.

Matt Rose

Omg yes the Rock!!! Kinda sad it won’t be on your own bc as much as I love Carly you tend to talk more to her and miss big moments that you react to on your own. But it’ll be awesome either way! Love you both and it’s a great movie!

China Andronicus

Stay safe Cassie and all 🙏💙🤞

Neil Varma

Air force one! I'm stoked.
